Okay so this is a super self-indulgent ask (and my first! Hi!) but I just picked up my first foster kittens in ages and I wonder how Homelander would handle a love interest fostering kittens and all the cute, yucky mess that entails? I imagine he'd enjoy the nurturing aspect (hellooo mommy kink without a baby to compete with) but he'd hate the baby kitten scratches on his s.o and that "lovely" sulfer dip they use to kill ringworm because God damn is that a strong smell :')
(Anyways, love your beautiful work and your awesome vibes! <3)
AAHH hi hello! welcome! i'm so happy to see you over here! 🥳
okay yes to everything happening here. he shows up one day and wrinkles his nose at the smell. he would complain about every single aspect of kitten fostering—especially all the stinks!—but he would also be fascinated by the process of it.
he insists from the get-go that he wants nothing to do with it. points out that they have fleas and mites. that your whole place reeks now. passive aggressively opens all the windows. but hovers the entire time, arms crossed.
but also he would see your hands and arms getting torn to absolute shreds as you're trying to give them medicine and bathe them, and he starts to get paranoid about you contracting some kind of disease, so he says, "Enough! Enough, put it down, move."
and he plucks the wet, screaming little ball of fur and needles out of your hands and does it himself. he's watched you enough times to do it, and his skin is impervious to their little murder mittens. he hands you each one to towel dry as he goes, complains the entire time, but by the time they're clean and dry he's dragging a piece of string around to play with them and commenting on the personality of each little baby.
he's not attached!!! he doesn't care. but they do need names. he doesn't like placeholders. you have to give them real names. also, he wants the names of the people who abandoned them. why? well, that's not you concern. 🤭

Like whaddaya call it when a disabled trans masc butch dyke is trying to take six city blocks out of a network communications grid, which simultaneously resists the decay of the extant physical world into an accidental but slowly progressing crash into a parallel universe of raw dissonant super strings but also serves to restrain human behavior and morality into preconceived narrow legal channels as well as hinder advancing technology.
Whaddaya call it when he finds the corpse of a right wing conservative tradwife, who let her body be crudely transformed into a living weapon and she subsequently died in the service to an apocalyptic megachurch, and then got reanimated by a colony of emotionally sensitive mutant ringworms so he's nursing her back to health not that who the corpse is should matter?
What about a retired asexual monster hunter who has no idea she's a magical transformation anime character because the entirety of her abilities manifest in conjunction with a chaos powered mechanical arm that's twice her size and ten times her weight, which she'd just as soon leave well enough alone at this point, but she's the only person who seems to know what's going on most of the time?
How bout the person kicked out of the long term mental care institution after it got its funding cut because no one could ever get a handle on how they could manifest seemingly innate control over the subatomic chaos pulling apart the universe at a fundamental level and focus it into whatever they felt like, and they just will not take off the bunny onsie?

Just playing around with my OCs but I don't have a fun, popular art style so they're all just scratchy lines.

Pterocarpus soyauxii has a flaky reddish-gray bark, pinnate and alternate leaves, and fruits that are round pods containing one seed each. This incidentally gives it its name (pterocarpus is latinised ancient greek meaning “wing leaf”).
Plant parts are used medicinally to treat wounds, diseases, ringworm, toothache, inflammations and infections. Bark extracts are used in herbal medicine to treat skin parasites and fungal infections. Leaves are high in vitamin C and along with their young shoots are cooked and eaten as vegetables.
The heartwood is a source of red dye, called true bar wood dye, which is used in cloth, fibers, cosmetics, and ceremonial rites. The wood is heavy, hard, highly durable, resistant to attacks of insects, termites, and marine borers. it is highly valued for it has a wide range of uses including construction, carpentry, flooring, railway sleepers, boats, veneer, joinery, etc. It is also used as fuel.
African Padauk wood is valuable; in ancient times it was reserved to royalty. It is very durable, red at first, darkening on exposure.
It is valued for making drums in Africa due to its tonal resonance. Many societies in Africa have at one time or another had legends that speak of spirits in the trees. Some large trees have a single spirit while others may have many spirits inside. They say that there are those who can listen and understand the spirits. The drum maker is one such person. The wood is also favored for its use in stringed instruments (namely acoustic and electric guitars) for its tonal attributes and durability.

Today we started our day visiting the The Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (Khmer: សារមន្ទីរឧក្រិដ្ឋកម្មប្រល័យពូជសាសន៍ទួលស្លែង). It is a museum in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, chronicling the Cambodian genocide. The site is a former secondary school which was used as Security Prison 21 (S-21) by the Khmer Rouge regime from its rise to power in 1975 to its fall in 1979. From 1976 to 1979, an estimated 20,000 people were imprisoned at Tuol Sleng (the real number is unknown). Tuol Sleng (Khmer: ទួលស្លែង Khmer pronunciation: [tuəl slaeŋ]) means "Hill of the Poisonous Trees" or "Strychnine Hill". Tuol Sleng was just one of at least 150 torture and execution centers established by the Khmer Rouge,[2] though other sources put the figure at 196 prison centers. On July 26, 2010, the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia convicted the chief of Tuol Sleng Prison, Kang Kek Iew, (alias Duch) for crimes against humanity and grave breaches of the 1949 Geneva Conventions and sentenced him to life imprisonment. Formerly the Tuol Svay Pray High School,[4] named after a royal ancestor of King Norodom Sihanouk, the five buildings of the complex were converted in March/April 1976 into a prison and interrogation center. Before other buildings in town were used already as prison S-21. The Khmer Rouge renamed the complex "Security Prison 21" (S-21) and construction began to adapt the prison to the inmates: the buildings were enclosed in electrified barbed wire, the classrooms converted into tiny prison and torture chambers, and all windows were covered with iron bars and barbed wire to prevent escapes and suicides.
From 1976 to 1979, an estimated 20,000 people were imprisoned at Tuol Sleng (the real number is unknown). At any one time, the prison held between 1,000–1,500 prisoners. They were repeatedly tortured and coerced into naming family members and close associates, who were in turn arrested, tortured and killed. In the early months of S-21's existence, most of the victims were from the previous Lon Nol regime and included soldiers, government officials, as well as academics, doctors, teachers, students, factory workers, monks, engineers, etc. Later, the party leadership's paranoia turned on its own ranks and purges throughout the country saw thousands of party activists and their families brought to Tuol Sleng and murdered.[4] Those arrested included some of the highest ranking communist politicians such as Khoy Thoun, Vorn Vet and Hu Nim. Although the official reason for their arrest was "espionage", these men may have been viewed by Khmer Rouge leader Pol Pot as potential leaders of a coup against him. Prisoners' families were sometimes brought en masse to be interrogated and later executed at the Choeung Ek extermination center.
In 1979, the prison was uncovered by the invading Vietnamese army. In 1979/80, the prison was reopened by the government of the People's Republic of Kampuchea as a historical museum memorializing the actions of the Khmer Rouge regime.
Upon arrival at the prison, prisoners were photographed and required to give detailed autobiographies, beginning with their childhood and ending with their arrest. After that, they were forced to strip to their underwear, and their possessions were confiscated. The prisoners were then taken to their cells. Those taken to the smaller cells were shackled to the walls or the concrete floor. Those who were held in the large mass cells were collectively shackled to long pieces of iron bar. The shackles were fixed to alternating bars; the prisoners slept with their heads in opposite directions. They slept on the floor without mats, mosquito nets, or blankets. They were forbidden to talk to each other.[4]
The day in the prison began at 4:30 a.m. when prisoners were ordered to strip for inspection. The guards checked to see if the shackles were loose or if the prisoners had hidden objects they could use to commit suicide. Over the years, several prisoners managed to kill themselves, so the guards were very careful in checking the shackles and cells. The prisoners received four small spoonfuls of rice porridge and watery soup of leaves twice a day. Drinking water without asking the guards for permission resulted in serious beatings. The inmates were hosed down every four days.[4]
The prison had very strict regulations, and severe beatings were inflicted upon any prisoner who tried to disobey. Almost every action had to be approved by one of the prison's guards. They were sometimes forced to eat human feces and drink human urine.[5] The unhygienic living conditions in the prison caused skin diseases, lice, rashes, ringworm and other ailments. The prison's medical staff were untrained and offered treatment only to sustain prisoners' lives after they had been injured during interrogation. When prisoners were taken from one place to another for interrogation, they were blindfolded. Guards and prisoners were not allowed to converse. Moreover, within the prison, people who were in different groups were not allowed to have contact with one another. Most prisoners at S-21 were held there for two to three months. However, several high-ranking Khmer Rouge cadres were held longer. Within two or three days after they were brought to S-21, all prisoners were taken for interrogation.[4] The torture system at Tuol Sleng was designed to make prisoners confess to whatever crimes they were charged with by their captors. Prisoners were routinely beaten and tortured with electric shocks, searing hot metal instruments and hanging, as well as through the use of various other devices. Some prisoners were cut with knives or suffocated with plastic bags. Other methods for generating confessions included pulling out fingernails while pouring alcohol on the wounds, holding prisoners' heads under water, and the use of the waterboarding technique. Women were sometimes raped by the interrogators, even though sexual abuse was against Democratic Kampuchea (DK) policy. The perpetrators who were found out were executed.[4] Although many prisoners died from this kind of abuse, killing them outright was discouraged, since the Khmer Rouge needed their confessions. The "Medical Unit" at Tuol Sleng, however, did kill at least 100 prisoners by bleeding them to death.[6] It is proven that medical experiments were performed on certain prisoners. There is clear evidence that patients in Cambodia were sliced open and had organs removed with no anesthetic.[7][8] In addition, there is also some evidence that inmates were drained of blood in order to study how long they would survive.[9][10]
In their confessions, the prisoners were asked to describe their personal background. If they were party members, they had to say when they joined the revolution and describe their work assignments in DK. Then the prisoners would relate their supposed treasonous activities in chronological order. The third section of the confession text described prisoners' thwarted conspiracies and supposed treasonous conversations. At the end, the confessions would list a string of traitors who were the prisoners' friends, colleagues, or acquaintances. Some lists contained over a hundred names. People whose names were in the confession list were often called in for interrogation.[4]
Typical confessions ran into thousands of words in which the prisoner would interweave true events in their lives with imaginary accounts of their espionage activities for the CIA, the KGB, or Vietnam. Physical torture was combined with sleep deprivation and deliberate neglect of the prisoners. The torture implements are on display in the museum. It is believed that the vast majority of prisoners were innocent of the charges against them and that the torture produced false confessions. Not all prisoners were tortured.
For the first year of S-21's existence, corpses were buried near the prison. However, by the end of 1976, cadres ran out of burial spaces, the prisoner and family members were taken to the Boeung Choeung Ek ("Crow's Feet Pond") extermination centre, fifteen kilometers from Phnom Penh.[11] There, they were killed by a group of teenagers led by a Comrade Teng[11] being battered with iron bars, pickaxes, machetes and many other makeshift weapons owing to the scarcity, and subsequent price of ammunition. After the prisoners were executed, the soldiers who had accompanied them from S-21 buried them in graves that held as few as 6 and as many as 100 bodies.
This was another very somber place with such a terrible history. It was very hard to see and learn about the stories attached to this place. There were two survivors of the prison there today which we met and learned about what happened to them. The only reason they are still alive is that one of the gentlemen was able to repair typewriters, which they used in the prison, and the other gentleman was an artist who painted flattering pictures of Pol Pot. They were still alive when the Vietnamese liberated the prison.
After leaving the museum, we got on our bikes and rode 25 kilometers through the countryside of Phnom Penh. The countryside is littered. Our tour guide explained that this is because the older generation for the most part is not educated well and they do not understand that all the trash and plastic is harming the environment. He said the younger generation here are very worried about the consequences.
Next we went to Ta Prohm (Khmer: ប្រាសាទតាព្រហ្ម, "Ancestor Brahma") Temple. It is the modern name of the temple at Angkor, Siem Reap Province, Cambodia, built in the Bayon style largely in the late 12th and early 13th centuries and originally called Rajavihara (Khmer: រាជវិហារ, "royal monastery"). Located approximately one kilometre east of Angkor Thom and on the southern edge of the East Baray, it was founded by the Khmer King Jayavarman VII[1]:125[2]:388 as a Mahayana Buddhist monastery and university. Unlike most Angkorian temples, Ta Prohm is in much the same condition in which it was found: the photogenic and atmospheric combination of trees growing out of the ruins and the jungle surroundings have made it one of Angkor's most popular temples with visitors. UNESCO inscribed Ta Prohm on the World Heritage List in 1992. Today, it is one of the most visited complexes in Cambodia’s Angkor region. The conservation and restoration of Ta Prohm is a partnership project of the Archaeological Survey of India and the APSARA (Authority for the Protection and Management of Angkor and the Region of Siem Reap).
Next we had lunch out on an over the water hut on Tonle Bati Lake. It is a small lake about 30 km south of Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. It is a popular weekend destination for the local population. It is also a popular fishing spot for both tourists and people who live locally. The women who owned the hut made lunch for us and we relaxed along the water with a much welcomed cool breeze blowing over us.
Our next stop was The Killing Fields, one of the many locations where the Khmer Rouge sent prisoners for immediate death. The Killing Fields (Khmer: វាលពិឃាត, Khmer pronunciation: [ʋiəl pikʰiət]) are a number of sites in Cambodia where collectively more than a million people were killed and buried by the Khmer Rouge regime (the Communist Party of Kampuchea) during its rule of the country from 1975 to 1979, immediately after the end of the Cambodian Civil War (1970–1975). The mass killings are widely regarded as part of a broad state-sponsored genocide (the Cambodian genocide).
Analysis of 20,000 mass grave sites by the DC-Cam Mapping Program and Yale University indicates at least 1,386,734 victims of execution. Estimates of the total deaths resulting from Khmer Rouge policies, including death from disease and starvation, range from 1.7 to 2.5 million out of a 1975 population of roughly 8 million. In 1979, Vietnam invaded Democratic Kampuchea and toppled the Khmer Rouge regime; viewed as ending the genocide.
The Cambodian journalist Dith Pran coined the term "killing fields" after his escape from the regime.
The Khmer Rouge regime arrested and eventually executed almost everyone suspected of connections with the former government or with foreign governments, as well as professionals and intellectuals. Ethnic Vietnamese, ethnic Thai, ethnic Chinese, ethnic Cham, Cambodian Christians, and the Buddhist monkhood were the demographic targets of persecution. As a result, Pol Pot has been described as "a genocidal tyrant." Martin Shaw described the Cambodian genocide as "the purest genocide of the Cold War era."
Ben Kiernan estimates that about 1.7 million people were killed.[6] Researcher Craig Etcheson of the Documentation Center of Cambodia suggests that the death toll was between 2 and 2.5 million, with a "most likely" figure of 2.2 million. After 5 years of researching some 20,000 grave sites, he concludes that "these mass graves contain the remains of 1,386,734 victims of execution."[7] A UN investigation reported 2–3 million dead, while UNICEF estimated 3 million had been killed.[8] Demographic analysis by Patrick Heuveline suggests that between 1.17 and 3.42 million Cambodians were killed, while Marek Sliwinski suggests that 1.8 million is a conservative figure. Even the Khmer Rouge acknowledged that 2 million had been killed—though they attributed those deaths to a subsequent Vietnamese invasion. By late 1979, UN and Red Cross officials were warning that another 2.25 million Cambodians faced death by starvation due to "the near destruction of Cambodian society under the regime of ousted Prime Minister Pol Pot", who were saved by international aid after the Vietnamese invasion.
Another very sad place to see, but very important information to understand.
Our tour guide and driver dropped us back at our hotel. It was an interesting day for us. All of this happened when we were teenagers and it is so awful to think that it just wasn’t that long ago, and we just never seem to learn lessons from these atrocities.

Soft Hearted
“So that's just it? You're not talking to me?”
Lily Walker pursed her full lips into a tight pucker and narrowed her eyes, her gaze trained on the scenery whizzing by. No, asshole, I'm not talking to you, she silently fumed, crossing her arms over her chest. Keeping quiet was the only way to keep from getting sucked back into the same ole fight she and Drake kept having about whether or not their three year old daughter Kaytee was ready for a pet. Lily had grown up with her furry best friend Tux, this beautiful black and white tuxedo cat that had been a crucial part of her life for seventeen years, and for a brief amount of time, before the little traitor chose Maxwell over her, she'd had a corgi named Sir Wigglesworth. She knew Drake liked animals, especially horses, so she didn't see what the big deal was in letting Kaytee have a kitten.
“Oh come on, Lils, you're being ridiculous.”
Eyes widening and nostrils flaring, Lily sucked in her breathe. No, you grouchy shit, what's ridiculous is your reasons for not letting our daughter...who never asks for anything...have a fucking kitten! Heaven forbid your precious leather couch get a single claw mark on it or that ugly cow hide rug gets tinkled on. Selfish asshole. The problem was, Drake wasn't selfish. There were very few times Lily couldn't get her way with him. He was just being a stubborn ass on the kitten thing. At first Lily had thought he might be allergic, but a quick conversation with Savannah had nipped that right in the bud. Savannah had also laid to rest any lingering concerns Lily had about Drake having PTSD over a traumatic pet death. No, Drake was just being a stubborn jerk about letting Kaytee have a kitten. If he had listed responsibility or that he was worried about ringworm and scratch marks, Lily could have seen his point of view. Instead he had centered his attention on his precious, mammoth sized leather sofa and that hideous cow hide rug his mother had sent him from Texas.
“Fine. Don't talk.” Fine, I won't. Lily curbed the urge to stick out her tongue. She wasn't above sulking, silent treatment, or stomping her foot but she drew the line at sticking out her tongue. She was a mother, after all, and she had to have some standards when it came to childish behavior. “At least listen to why...”
After thirty seconds of him droning on with his usual lame reasons for not letting Kaytee have a cat, Lily turned her focus back to the scenery flashing by outside. It was something she instantly regretted. A horrified gasp escaped her lips and her eyes started burning as she took in the struggling figure of a cat that had recently been hit trying to crawl to the side of the road. He looks like Tux, she noted, with his sleek black fur and a splash of white on the chest and face. “Drake pull over,” Lily cried, her lower lip starting to tremble. “Pull over now!”
“Lils,” Drake started, and then stopped, letting out a string of curses when he spots the cat. He was still cursing when he pulled the truck to the side of the road. The moment it stopped, Lily jumped out, racing towards the cat. “What are you doing,” he yelled behind her. She ignored the question because it should be obvious what she was doing. A passing car honked and swerved to miss her, Lily flipped the driver off, her focus on getting to the cat, who had paused to let out a painful cry. “Jesus, Lils, be careful!”
“It's okay,” she murmured, crouching down next to the cat. She stroked its silky fur, tears running down her cheeks when it looked up at her with pain filled eyes. “We're going to get you help.” Gingerly, she gathered the wounded animal in her arms.
“If you ever do something like that again,” Drake yelled, “I swear to God Lily I will...I will...” he snapped his mouth shut, his face softening when he took in the whimpering cat. “Is he okay?”
“I don't know,” Lily sniffled, blinking rapidly to try to loosen the tears lingering on her lashes. “He's not bleeding but that doesn't mean anything. He could be hurt inside. He could....” Like a dam filled to the brim after a storm, she burst. Sobs heaved her chest, tears poured down her cheeks. How could people be so cruel? She understood that accidents happened, that sometimes hitting an animal couldn't be avoided, but damn it how hard was it to stop and see if the animal that was struck needed help? “We're going to help you,” she whispered, her fingers gently trailing over the trembling little body.
“Lily, baby,” Drake placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. “We need to get him to the vet.” Drake was right, she knew that, but it was like her feet were glued to the side of the road. “Let me help.” Nodding, Lily let him lead her to the passenger side of their truck, sniffling slightly when he helped her into her seat. A soft, small smile tipped the corners of her lips when his large fingers gently trailed over the cat, comforting words murmured under his breath.
The drive to the vet was a blur of Drake trying to comfort her while she tried to reassure the cat that everything was going to be alright. It felt like a lie, she had no way of knowing if things were going to be okay but they were trying and that counted for something. If, her heart constricted, if the cat died at least he would die knowing someone had loved him enough to stop and help him. “I love you,” she murmured, pressing a kiss to the soft head before letting the vet tech take him to the back, where the vet waited to look him over.
“It's going to be okay,” Drake told her, pulling her shaking body up against his chest. He threaded his fingers into her thick, dark curls and tilted her head so that she was looking up at him. “He's strong, Lils, a fighter. He's not going to give up. Especially not now.”
“What...what do you mean...especially not now?”
That was when it happened. Liliana Delgado Walker, the Duchess of Valtoria, fell in love with her husband all over again. “Because now he has a home and people who love him waiting for him.” She tightened her hold around his waist. Had she really, just a half an hour ago, been thinking that he was an asshole and a grouchy shit? She took it back...well maybe not entirely back because there was some truth to it. Drake could be a grouchy asshole when he wanted to be. Mostly he was a loving, compassionate father and husband. The sort who stopped on the side of the road so their wife could run into on coming traffic to save a cat. The sort who then rushed said cat to the vet, footed the bill, and then, without prompting, said the cat was coming home with them.
“You should name him,” Lily encouraged a few days later when they once again driving down the highway, this time with their cat riding in the backseat, purring loudly while Kaytee chattered away about how much she was going to love him, and how bee-you-tee-ful he was. The vet had called him a miracle cat since he had managed to walk away with only a small graze on his back left leg where the tire had struck him.
“Yes!” Kaytee squealed from the back seat. “Daddy you should name him!” Her little brow puckered, her brown eyes narrowing in confusion.”Who is daddy naming?”
“Our cat, sweetheart,” Lily laughed.
“Oh! Sweetheart is a bee-you-tee-ful name daddy!”
Before Drake could protest or Lily could correct their precocious daughter, Sweetheart the miracle cat let out a heart yowl of agreement.

eventful weekend!
I had such a lovely weekend.
Thursday - went to a laser appt, my third, and she informed me she is positive the dry patch on my thigh is ringworm (...). So, grand, I got an anti-fungal cream and have been applying it every night since..
On Friday, I went for a 3.04km run in 18 degrees heat during my lunch. Then, after work, me and my friend went shopping in Mahon, and I got SUCH a cute light grey t shirt. I literally love the fit of it. I also got a baby pink string top that is also so so cute. I bought some more immediately, all for only €6, as it'll be such a good staple for travelling.
On Saturday it was SO sunny, I woke up early with my sister and we walked to my favourite café, which sadly announced it's permanently closing at the end of June. I'm going to go there as often as I can now until then.
Between the sun, feeling skinny and tanned, clearer skin, completely bald from laser, I felt unreal. I then met my two friends after their pilates class and we all walked into town together, where I got a fresh set of nails. (short, square, nude.).
Then, I walked home, napped, showered and got ready for MTGM with my childhood friend. I walked to the marina, ready, and got sushi and an almond-flour cookie, with some cherry white claws.
We had such a laugh. Afterwards, my best friend found a *** in the bathroom cubicle of the bar!! So we were buzzing with the thrill of that for the night. I ended up in the gay bar afterwards and was home for around 3. It felt so summery.
I got lovely compliments when I was out - that I looked like Lara Croft and had lovely eyes!!! Nice!
The next day, Sunday, I met my dad for breakfast in a Spanish cafe, and we walked to the market for macaroons afterwards. I then walked home, cleared out my room pre-moving out (a bit), and then went to a BBQ at my boyfriend's family's house. I absolutely loved it. They are so kind and welcoming and they always make me feel so at home.
When I got home that evening, I went for a 3.34km run, my longest run yet. My knees are getting a little sore so I'm hoping if I do a bit of strength training and stretching that will ease off.
Happy!!!

Prince Philip (male), Shane (male), and Jenna-purr (female) were pulled from the Ramona shelter and fostered together. Jenna-purr is approximately 15 months old and the boys are 8 months old. These three have beaten terrible odds. They made it out of the shelter, survived and luckily did not contract a deadly virus that ripped through their first foster home and also beat ringworm. They would love to fill someone's home with love, laughter and endless play. Heaven would be a home for all three of them; but they will do fine separately, if given time and love. Jenna-purr is very outgoing, loving and playful. Shane actively seeks attention, once he knows you're a friend, loves treats and loves to investigate everything. Prince Philip loves to play and get back scratches. He loves treats, but can be a little shy until he gets to know you. Treats, and mice with feathers on a string, solve all the worries for these three. See more photos on our blog at http://www.babybobbysmeowhouserescue.org/blog/2019/03/22/orange-tabby-rescue-cats-jenna-purr-prince-philip-shane/ These cats are being fostered in a private home by our cat rescue.
