i am. abnormal. about the thunderhead.

someone ought to clean off its' many lens and pet the touch sensors of a capacitive touch display so very gently in a repetitive motion over and over as if to soothe, and someone should really engage with its' philosophizing to ultimately help it feel the effect of sharing, and thus halving, burdens.

the thunderhead is so clearly emotive. it is not a paperclipper AI. it clearly feels distress and no one ever offers it the comfort it deserves. it very obviously has a built-in routine to deliberate, excessively, over its' own choices, and it suffers as a result of this because it is subject to whatever approximation of empathy it feels.

i think it would benefit greatly from a soothing human presence that seeks to provide it with the comfort it so selflessly, kindly provides others.

I can't believe I almost forgot about Good Robots

this was my OG ensemble piece (started nearly five years ago and never took it anywhere) and I swear it was the blueprint for T$$

it's a lot less whumpy and a lot more comical but it's where I developed a love for character dynamics within a bigger team

they're all named after food (codenames, but it's all they ever refer to each other as) and the only thing I've ever written for them is goofy dialogue interactions between teammates

hmm! really rather liked Task Force VII #3. the Amazos have been a mixed bag so far; with such limited page space devoted to each one, there's not a lot of room to build personalities/interest for them, although they're clearly individual from the beginning, with their own names and looks, and furthermore they're each affected by the set of powers they eventually absorb.

so when Jadestone absorbed Alan Scott's Starheart power and their programming was immediately infected by growing free will, I sat up and went \o/!!!! yes! perfect and interesting consequence for having an entity with no will of its own steal a Green Lantern's powers.

and the way it was depicted, lines of autocratic coding suddenly getting interrupted with heretofore unknown questioning "alternatives" - what are these insidious new green options? choices?? what are those? - is very fun.

I wasn't sure how much, if any, development DC was going to give these Amazo robots, which would have been a shame given they're one of the main antagonistic forces Waller has been using to exert her control. But given that Failsafe and Brainiac Queen are also main antagonists on her side, and the development Brainiac Queen got in Ground Zero, clearly we have a bit a theme here going on with exploring the personhood of robots/created beings. Interested to see where it goes.
