Beijing hosted a milestone AI sports event in which four university teams fielded fully autonomous humanoid robots in a 3‑on‑3 tournament. Tsinghua’s THU Robotics beat China Agricultural University 5‑3, despite frequent tumbles and two robots exiting on stretchers. Researchers say such contests accelerate real‑world testing for balance, vision and cooperation algorithms.
