oooo ok thanks for the tag!!

i mostly get inspired by the experiences of people around me or stories i hear about other people's lives, as well as my own experiences. i also take inspiration from things going on in the world. but also sometimes one leaf inspires a whole multi-book series. i tend to prioritize characters above plot. not that the plot isn't important, but i'm such a people nerd (which is a fun way of saying human beings fascinate me but i have no idea how to socialize) so of course people are my greatest inspiration. i like putting them in situations ive heard about and seeing how they'll react. so yeah my inspiration is a blend of things from reality i want to talk about and ✨ aesthetics ✨

Great question! Really just little pieces of my life in general. Usually people I've met and the experiences we've had. I've had a very interesting life so it's the easiest thing for me to write about. So many different ways I could word the stories, so to speak. And so many different stories. I have bits of my life I've never touched in my writing, though I would like to change that.

nema has an interest in sewing and needlework. she likes to make/embroider things for people (her mom still has a collection of bracelets and sloppily knit scarves from when nema was a kid experimenting with crafts and stuff) and she'd really like to put that to use. it's not exactly a common interest for water-dwelling creatures (for context nema's a mermaid which would have been apparent had i put pictures in the intro post but motivation was not on my side) so she figures it's an opportunity for a unique business. she wants a reputation as someone who makes good things happen. even though she may not have been responsible for any bad things her visions have predicted in the past, people still have this strange misconception that she causes the events she predicts. she wants to shift their focus to her strengths and creativity. she dreams of opening a tailoring and embroidery shop that is inclusive of water-dwelling creatures and works with the materials used in their clothing and accessories

as for the magic system, it works differently for different creatures with different types of magic and different ways of using it. for example, shailyn, being a fairy, lives on magic. it's how she exists and is as natural to her as breathing is to anyone else. she basically has a sixth sense for it. elves are very distantly sort of related to fae (more or less kinda a bit) so sal has a bit of a similar sense for magic, but it's nowhere near as strong as shailyn's. also fun fact you might not think about this immediately but lynx also has this sense, and her sense is actually stronger than sal's. cats are weird like that. she has a lot of weird innate magical quirks like that—for another one, she can be magic resistant when she feels like it. it doesn't work if the magic is too powerful, but she can resist weak charms and stuff and see through glamor that others can't

of course im also taking inspiration from various mythologies so magic for different beings works based on their magic in the myths (like gods' powers and affinities or monsters' magical abilities (of course theres more than that but i have to do more research on a lot of things and im pretty much just focusing on the main 5 and their lives and the ways they interact with their world (if anyone would like to share any mythology that they enjoy learning about or from their culture that they would like to be represented, i'd be happy to look into it and see where i can fit it into the show!)))

also i did make a shapeshifter post a while back because it bothers me so much when shapeshifters and their limitations and all the practical use stuff isnt explained. (side note i also love fun facts like how in star trek ds9 odo canonically sleeps in a bucket cause his resting state is liquid. that's wonderful and makes sense.) i love me some consistency and good nerd shit, so i'll link that here if you wanna look at that (it's not pretty but i made it before i started putting actual effort into my posts lol)

i would yap about nema's visions but that would reveal plot things. but i'll tell you what she knows (or doesn't know)

when she has the opportunity to see what ends up happening, she finds that they have come true

she can't control when she gets them. sometimes they happen completely at random, which is very unfortunate when she's in public and trying to be inconspicuous and normal

theyre like dreams. sometimes she gets feelings about things along with them like how that lady driving the plane in your dream is completely unrecognizable but you just know that she's your aunt and also based on helen parr from the incredibles

they can range from short flashes of images to much longer and more immersive experiences

hey hey !! i dug through my folders and found a few scrapped sketches, so here's a lil' dump of them >:9

i'm gonna be adding a little description of my thought process in each scrapped sketches that are on this post, so take a peek in this thread if you're interested ... !

i was supposed to do a little star vee and cosmo interaction a few weeks ago, but ... i kinda just forgot. i wanted to do a funny little gossip comic about these two!

IGNORE THE VERY BAD HANDWRITING i tend to jot down my dialogues messily, they get rewritten once i finished rendering the piece first :9

THESE TWO ... i was gonna make an extra fruitcake valentines post but was inevitably burned out after finishing the group drawing of everyone ... the first sketch was cupid cosmo getting thoughts about cupid sprout and getting giddy about it!

the second sketch on the other hand, i wanted to draw cupid sprout peppering kisses all over cupid cosmo ... i thought it was a really cute image! but again, got burned out before i could even finish the sketch u_u

OKAY SOOOO I WAS GONNA MAKE MORE FANART FOR POILUBSU ... BUT ... i got caught up in other projects and ideas that i wanted to tackle, so these sketches ended up in the back ... who knows, i might get back to these one day!

another comic that i scrapped ... ! purely because i didn't know how to tackle this yet, i wanted to make a positive little comic about cosmo being happy and proud of himself.

i've also wanted this to be an allegory of acceptance and self-love of your identity, i wanted to tackle the topic of being transgender.

lastly, another piece that unfortunately got scrapped because it just didn't fit my vision quite right ... but it was a nice attempt regardless !

i drew this when i was feeling down, i didn't want to end my night on a sour note so i tried to convert my sorrows into sunlight. i ended up with this little piece but wasn't very satisfied enough as i was rendering; maybe i needed fresh eyes for this ... but nonetheless, it got scrapped :[ one day i'll do a redraw of this!

Scraps, a particularly lonely toon made of pom poms and paper, desperately wishes for a friend who shares her interests. Yes, she has friends, and she’s very grateful for them, but few of them enjoy the same things she does, and everyone else seems to either have a best friend to talk to or they seem fine being alone, unlike her. Desperately craving for someone who would never leave her side, she comes up with an imaginary friend/brother, “Goob”. A craft, like her, made of fabric and stuffing who loves hugs, whose favorite color is blue, and who loves hanging out with his sister more than anything. She gets so attached to him in fact that she becomes desperate to make him real, even if he isn’t technically alive. After a particularly rough day, she decides to cave in and create a life sized replica of the fluffy craft using her fabric hoarde, stuffing, and a pair of googly eyes. Little does she know, something wonderful is about to happen.

This- AU? Mini comic? Idk what to even call this (Someone tell me if this would be considered an AU I’ve never done this before-) Will be a multi page mini comic revolving around my headcanon that Scraps made Goob because she wanted someone who shared her interests. It takes place before the events of the game so there’s nothing about like Twisteds or anything. I don’t exactly know how many pages this will be. It’s VERY self indulgent so uh yeah. It starts off a bit sad but it has a happy ending.

Also small warning, I’ve never worked on a comic more than 1 page and especially a more serious one so it may be absolutely garbage idk. Also thank my best friend for this existing he wanted me to make it after I mentioned it, also he’s kind of my co-editor since he helped me with the dialogue and such.

The captain/leader of this group is Neptune Croaker, and he’s been around for a long while. This group are quite literally.. pirates! They are at seas most of the time, so if they’re parked at a dock or at shore, take your chance to get to catch a ride! (Of course, not without paying. What did you expect? They’re pirates! How else do you think they’re operating?)

Pirates are not at all trustworthy, a bit of tricks and tomfoolery here and there. However, expect this groups loyalty being the strongest trait rather than trickery.

Trust that Captain Neptune can get you to your destination safely, that’s all can be said.

Twisteds are everywhere, don’t get me wrong, but this group knows not to mess with them.

They encounter siren-like Twisteds overseas, and all of your favorite sea folklore-like creatures. Mapping them all out wasn’t easy, that’s for sure.

After all, the sea dominates majority of the world. It’s gonna take more than one ship to do it all. (Implying they’re a semi-large organization)

Commandment usually relate to a religious mean or belief, what do they believe in?

The wind, the seas, the rain— y’know, all that sweet stuff.

Coral is Neptune’s granddaughter, he is her current guardian during this time. She creates these pearl jewelry, and they are used to symbolize a member’s loyalty and commitment. (They are usually the most trusted people. If you have a conflict with another member, please turn to them or the leader of the faction)

Neptune is an old lad, and he can command ships to life or into animation at will. (Of course, he’s limited to some extent. He can only command one ship that he chooses to operate.)

Onyx is a Spinosaurus

Jazz is a little scatterbrained (seaweed brain)

Azure? yes. (His sister is alive, I just haven’t drawn her yet)

ROLES ON A SHIP (incase anyone is interested, these are also examples. There are a lot of other roles besides the listed)

• The Captain:

As the leader of the ship and crew, they are responsible for everyone’s safety. They make the big decisions and give out orders.

• The Co-Captain:

They are on the same level as the captain, and share the same role and responsibilities.

• The Chief Mate:

They are the primary second-in-command and take over supervising cargo shipment and everyone on board.

• Second Mate & Third Mate:

The second mate are in charge of navigation, navigation equipments etc. etc. sometimes they are assigned medical duties. The third mate are responsible for maintaining everyone’s safety and help with navigation/navigating. Both do watchkeeping.

• The Quartermaster:

They are the captain’s right-hand and takes charge if the captain is not present. They deal with disciplinary acts and oversee daily activities/operations.

• The Boatswain:

They are responsible for doing maintenance on the ship, the ropes, wood etc. They are in charge of leading parties to look for materials and supplies when docked at shore.

Dynamics/Views with other factions

Gardenview: Neutral— not enough interactions or barely any interactions to make a full impression (unless the creator wants to input their own narrative)

Zodiac: No. (The pirates catch them in nets for fun and kind of dangle them over a bonfire if near shore— other than that, they’re just plopping them off in the middle of the sea. They’ve been dealing with these guys for too long.)

The Merchant Order: Friendly/Neutral— they mutually benefit off of trading and transactions of goods.

Ruin Corp: Friendly— Those pirates surprisingly pay well and fairly, give good equipment to clean their decks (good business is business)

Vinization: Neutral— Not exactly allies nor enemies. They do well with transportation, but barely interact. (edited)

The Caravan: Friendly— Whenever the two factions bump into each other, the exchange/share goods, news and information, and supplies with one another. There is some slight favoritism from Neptune since he sees the group as just “young lads/fellas” (edited)

Alrighty! As a warning, I haven't been fortunate enough to get enough things to play as Scraps in the game, so I'm going off the wiki. If I'm doing anything wrong regarding her in character or anything, please tell me immediately so I can go fix it!

Also, this story is written with the assumption those who read it have a pet cat. Because I have a cat and also think having a cat would have some unique benefits in the story. (Also I just like cats. And yes, you guys can have pictures of my cat if you ask <3)

Scraps was one of the Toons who grew curious about you when she heard you.

She saw Goob's excitement, heard his curious rambles about you, his questioning if you liked hugs, how he really wanted to hug you since your voice made you sound like the most huggable person in the whole world!

She was a little more skeptical, worrying if you weren't a good person. What if you wanted to hurt her? What if you wanted to hurt Goob?

Then she heard you get excitement over having a Goob join your run. Heard you remark how you wanted to play as him but needed more research.

Even if you got frustrated whenever a Twisted Scraps or Twisted Goob appeared, she quickly figured out you just didn't like having to deal with being attacked at a range.

You cared about her and her younger brother.

So is it surprising she grew to care about you?

Soon she started learning more things about you.

You liked to draw and create.

She would love to make arts and crafts with you! She hopes you know some good things to make!

You were airheaded and a bit forgetful.

And, much to her glee, you had a pet cat!

Why shouldn't she tell you about herself if she was able to learn so much about you?

When you finally managed to get her Toon form and play as her, it wasn't hard for the rest of your team to die and for it to just be you and her entering the elevator.

It was hilariously easy to say a new line, her commenting on how she wanted to try doing something new, and for you to speak.

To speak and be completely unaware of how she heard you.

You offered the idea of crocheting little animals into the shape of these cutesy little balls. How bees would be a great start.

She loved your idea. The moment you finished playing and left to do something else for a bit, she immediately got started.

She made all sorts of animals. She gave some to Goob.

Scraps loves your ideas.

She wants to hear more of them.

like. you spend thousands of years larping as different people and eventually the continuum spits you out in a body that’s some fucking security guard, but you’re now eye to eye with your 70-90 year old scapegoat and your fucking keyblade and your rules of engagement are literally “play so dumb that its frankly absurd”. and then some kid whips out the wrath of satan and cleaves your eye out of its socket and fucks up your face and you have to not lose your shit about it.

and these bodies are expendable, shit happens every time, but this time you can’t really run the risk of losing this body in the moment. otherwise you risk fucking up the entire mission. so you have no choice but to sit with the aftermath, to take this damage, and be marked by this entire plot. the book of prophecy is proof of success, but really, how far does that success go? is your name even in the goddamn book?

I have been angry since April 12th and I've reached a point where I don't even know what to feel anymore I don't even know what to tell y'all.

Like, wow, omg, movie reveals. Other than family relations, the other thing isn't exactly anything new. We've all read Midnight Crow. We saw Kaitou Corbaeu. We've been in denial until finally reaching acceptance. For me at least. And then we spend a few years bargaining, bc surely there's a good reason kaitos not in the know. That kaito has to be KID. Surely there's a reason? Right?

At this point we don't even truly know if Jii is in the know and was acting as planned out by the parents or not. Or if he's just like kaito. Tricked, lied to, played for fools. At the very least ginzo doesn't know, so there's that. Not sure how much that would help kaito when he inevitably finds out. Because he will. The fact remains that it's quite suspicious that Jii just so happen to choose to don the KID outfit and become KID to draw out toichis murderers exactly 8 years after toichis death. EXACTLY the same amount of time that was set for that trap door portrait to open to kaito.
