#season 6 is perfect and doesnt need to be changed at all

looking at bojacks story in the later seasons and esp the last few episodes like "a redemption arc" is just . wrong and it defeats the point of the story theyre trying to tell. the whole point of bojack is its not a show with happy endings because its just about life and the choices you make. arc implies a completion point where youve learned all you need to and officially join the status of "good guy" but thats not what the show does. bojack does change and he does get better and he does apply what he learns in therapy to his real life in order to be better but hes still not just. done growing. you never are. the point of the finale just shows that hes doing better. not Perfect but Better. The whole of season 6 is all of bojacks horrible behaviors and patterns coming back to haunt him and its only when he recognizes these patterns and how others will react to them and in turn how He reacts to these reactions does he actually get on the path to bettering himself. the finale isnt a "happily ever after" its just were finally leaving these people be. even bojack is scared of "Falling off the horse" again but todd says and then youll just get sober again. theres no shame in a relapse but now hes actually making the effort to change. its like diane says hell never be good because he isnt bad. there isnt a 5 easy steps to become a good person you just have to try and be the best person you can and then . keep doing it. there are no happy endings. theres always more show. like what would bojack have to do that he proved hes better person. hes lost all his money, hes in prison, hes just as depressed but now hes got a better system to work through it. hes only got a few relationships left with established boundaries in place for all of them. there isnt some grand sweeping gesture he can do to fix all his crimes, this isnt a sitcom after all. when we cancel (I HATE THAT WORD it fels so juvenile but) a celebrity they dont. stop existing. someone who does bad that doesnt get executed still has the rest of their life to do good. that doesnt undo the bad but it doesnt undo the good either. youre not you from 2 years ago . youre all of you, every second youve lived

So episode 6 of IWTV s2. My thoughts? Many. Enjoy them, I'll try to make it as coherent as possible in my current state. Spoilers and my mental breakdown below the cut

Fuck this. I cannot wait for a week after this episode, how am I supposed to be normal after this???

So I guess I'll start from the start? The tension is in every word and I get why Daniel's getting afraid for his life, I mean I am afraid for his life rn and he's not even real.

The Dubai scenes, they contrast really well with the first couple episodes of this season. The cracks in Loumand relationship are very apparent now, they can't even decide on what painting to have in their house. And I read a post that was like "season 1 was music, season 2 is art" and it's so true and this means like their relationship is empty i guess or something. Maybe just that it's falling apart.

And the way they began this season holding hands and sitting so close, acting like everything was perfect, ready to fight Daniel and now they sit as far away as possible, fight like all the time about everything and Louis and Daniel (and even Rashid I think) keep on further unionizing against Armand... I think that's just great.

And Armand knowing that they know and from the start trying to spin it. I'm not sure how the sentence "Why do you ask, love?" from Louis is like the coldest thing ever but it just is.

I'll talk more about Dubai later.

But now to Paris. Claudia's diary "Fuck these vampires" - girl's so right (in both meanings of that word btw). Claudia was never really my fave, but out of everyone I feel like she deserves a happy ending the most (not counting daniel here) and fuck, she's not getting it. i know but it still hurts like hell.

Her and Madeleine's relationship is great. Inbetween all the plotting and manipulation and murder this feels like one of the only peaceful things. In the scene where Claudia reveals herself I though that she's like Madeleine's guardian angel. But also an angel of death. But Madeleine doesn't mind and I think that's very important, that she doesn't really see Claudia as a monster - or maybe she does, but it doesn't change what she feels (after all, she thinks that she's a monster)

Then the turning. First Louis trying to convince Armand and him not obeying- as Daniel says "maitre only when it's hot or convinient" (it was hot in the art room btw and it's so not fair that we didn't get to see at least a little more i mean that whole scene was inexplicably so hot and i need moreeee).

But it also reminded me of another post, the "Armand is a willingly leashed tiger" because like yeah, Louis has the power up until the point when Armand no longer wants him to have it. (also Louis persuasion being "imagine me without the burden of her" sucks, like sorry but this hurts, even if you didn't mean it and yes it matters if you meant it. But his later method - aka kiss to shut him the hell up - seems much better.)

Then I got a little pissed or perhaps confused at his "Are you asking or making me?" because we know that Louis can't actually make Armand do anything, not when he is 100 % sure he doesnt want to. Because if he could, Armand would've turned Madeleine. (speaking of, Armand not having turned anyone is pretty interesting, but i guess that that's how it was in the books and it was important so sure why not)

Also Louis' "It's ok, it's ok" here reminded me of "Of course, of course!" and also "It's fine, he's fine, we're fine" and it's just so funny how they all think that if they say things over and over again they'll convince themselves that they're true.

The turning itself was beautiful, as Louis said it would be. Like it wasn't violent, there wasn't fear, no tears. Just love and devotion and I'm so sad that Claudia's and Madeleine's beautiful dream didn't last longer.

Louis not caring afterwards is just another exampke of his dissociative state and I worry about his mental well-being. (All of their mental and physical well-beings tbh)

In Dubai again, Armand finally talking about the erased memories and how they both hate on him for it and they're right. Like what do you mean Daniel doesn't have the right to be angry, of course he does. It's fun to see Daniel delighted about fighting Armand.

But also... Louis asked him to get rid of those momeries (if he believe him. And I, in this episode more than ever and despite my better knowledge, do believe Armand. Maybe it's just because of Assad's phenomenal acting but I believe his words and I believe his tears. Which actually makes this all worse btw.) and that makes the whole situation suddenly much more complicated.

Other Paris plot - Santiago (fuck Santiago) and his coup -, yeah that kept me on my toes for the entire episode. Like Armand says that he was in love and Louis says that he got lazy but I just think he must've been blind to not see it.

I feel like Dubai kinda reflects this (Louis and Daniel unionizing as we've said and so it's like Armand losing his power over his people again) but also. Paris and it's aftermath was the biggest crisis of their relationship, must've been (followed by San Francisco and Daniel I'm sure). But now as the recount it they are also reliving it and are also in a full-blown crisis and i hope this one doesn't end in a fire.

And the ending of it all. Fuck. I was near tears watching it.

The double-date in the cafe felt like a dream, they even said in the episode insider that they wanted it to feel surreal or something like that, like a romantic comedy. And for a few minutes it does. They let you believe that they could be happy. You know they won't, you know that shit's about to go down and everything will end in ruin but this single scene makes you beg, no please, no don't fuck it up, just stay happy, like this, it can be good. And despite knowing what's coming, you stick your claws into this idea of happiness like a lifeline.

And then it hurts that much more when this perfect bubble pops.

I admire all the actors because idk what Armand was feeling the moment he stepped outside but through Assad's acting I felt it too. And as Louis looks around, seeing the world stop, here I know exactly what he must've felt- the realization hits, the betrayl and then the immense worry for Claudia and Jacob portrays it so beautifully.

"He chose." This breaks my heart. Because what did he choose exactly, or better yet, what did he choose over? I mean this is terrible, the trial, but what was his other choice? He calls himself a coward so maybe it was Louis and Claudia and Madeleine or him that the coven would go after. But maybe this was actually the better choice idk.

But like you see the regret in Armand's face in Paris but especially in Dubai and I trust him. I believe him that he regrets it, I believe him the tears and as I've said that just makes it so much worse. Because he chose this and now they suffer for it and he suffers for it too and blames himself (rightfully so), but it still hurts.

And then Lestat. Fuck. I knew this was gonna come (I just couldn't help myself and because of my recklessness saw a spoiler, that he's gonna be there) but that in no way did that knowledge diminish what I felt when I saw him. Because, hell, idk I'm just so excited to finally have him back because I love him but also I hate him and am so scared as to what he's gonna do. He's gonna testify against Louis and Claudia sure but what if he won't? Does he want to kill or fuck Louis? Will his and Armand's past play part in this or is that a box to remain unopened until later?

"You cannot script a hurricane" they said and so this means Lestat will go off script. But to what extent? At least to which it results in burning the theatre down.

The preview didn't help my state, quite the contrary actually. Louis in Paris is scared that Lestat's gonna come. Santiago's laughing. What does Armand feel? Who knows not me, I'm just scared. And excited. I feel like I won't fall asleep for two days after this but it's fine. I'm fine, everything's fine.

its frustrating tho. bc thats all on top of like. idk i just feel incredibly run down. i feel 'run down' or 'fatigued' or something like that basically every day of my life but it gets worse when i sleep bad.

plus my nose keeps bleeding and im congested but i also apparently dont have the flu or anything.

i never rly know what the fuck is going on like as a baseline with my day to day health and its rly. frustrating. in a slow grindy way.

i hate chronic illness for many reasons but right now im particularly frustrated by not having like... agency.

going to the doctor feels pointless bc either i get ignored, or i get advice that doesnt help, or i get redirected to a specialist and have to wait 6 months and end up forgetting what specific issue im waiting for help with.

the other thing is its not like, consistent. my symptoms and the things im struggling with. like the feeling of weakness and 'fatigue' or whatever is consistent but everything else changes with the season or day to day.

in summer i sweat so much that my ankles swell so bad they start losing circulation.

in winter i get mad joint pain bc of the cold and my sinuses get absolutely fucked by breathing in cold air all night while i sleep. im working on that one. i have 2 different humidifiers one for steam and one for vapor and ive been running the steam one all winter and it hasnt rly helped but running both of them might be helping?? idk

fall is basically the same as winter where i live so half the year is winter. im p sure being cold all the time messes with my immune system too bc i always get sick in winter and spend most of winter sick.

i wish my stupid fucking heater worked. i wish this house had insulation.

meanwhile it seems like my mental health is always going wrong in new exciting ways.

im rly sick of like, surviving. rly rly sick of feeling like im just fighting to keep my head above water.

i feel like maybe theres a mindset shift i can do to help with that feeling but im only just starting to like, grasp it.

i think its going to be years and years before i find tangible solutions to my health problems. right now i need to focus on management.

manage symptoms, manage limits, plan ahead and plan around my limits. if i think ahead i can minimise the negative or 'gatekeeping' impact of my symptoms on my life and on working on whats important to me.

and then i just get on with it. bc theres no magic potion, no knight in shining armor, no trick that will fix everything.

i also really need to remember that my life has a lot of good things in it. its not perfect but nothing is. stop sweating the small stuff and hating yourself and worrying if ppl hate me and relax and get on with it.

i felt the same way,

theres nothing wrong with a slower season actually i think we kind of needed it before whatever they have in store for us in season 3, but it all felt very one dimentional

the bones of the story are amazing, i get what they wanted to do i just think the tone, rythme and some of the acting direction was lackluster. it felt like a hollywood movie with a pretty one dimentional bad guy (shax) turned leather clad lady at the end when she could of kept up that vibe of strict office lady that is just a bit too efficient for the system shes in; evil doesnt announce itself with leather and meaness but it would be interesting and terrifying if it made itself know by the sharp tap tap of very pointy heels and an unstoppable efficiency

the beazelbub/gabriel romance is a perfect idea, just left field enough that it can catch us by surprise but they rushed the twist and kind of explained it with a few flashbacks of awkward interaction, which is honestly not very believable, aziraphael and crowley have been interacting for millenia, and thats the time it took for them to come to terms with sympathizing with the enemy, i dont see how it would be coherent that in 3-4 years and a few awkward dates gabriel would be willing to throw everything out just for bealzebub, i would see it as an interesting character developpement if his memory trick was more a ploy to save his ass and a desire to leave out of boredom for heaven than a sudden interest in just one demon he met a few times, i would see them pairing up out of common disinterest for their sides more than out of love for each other, and then let the love develop at a later date on screen or not (i would prefer not), teammates in escape of a toxic system more than a sudden change of heart for "love" (?) or a very hollywodian disney princess version of love at least

talking of love the nina/maggie plot felt pointless, not because they didnt get together, that was the best thing, but because it took too much time for what it was, they could of limited it to the jane austen ball episode instead of dragging it on through the series with ninas honestly uniteresting and flatly evil ex which we're absolutely not invested in, i would of done it that they came up with the excuse they used the miracle for love, planned th ball, got attacked, nina and maggie realise what they're doing and sit them down and have the much needed intervention about how Thats Not How People Work, made them realise they're shit at communication and basta it could of been done in two episodes instead of 6

another thing about that attack scene, shax and the annoying guy who organised the market association should of fallen in love on sight or at least shax should of been fascinated by him, hes such a specific brand of evil i would see their respective evils interacting in such a fun way, and it would have been more human.

my last and most important peeve is that this is a terry pratchett hommage, and it was not done as well as it should of been. It missed the perspective and slight unseriousness he had, his tone, his wit, his deep love of humanity and our funny little ways, thats been the deeper appeal to all of his work and its frustrating to see one dimentional bad guys in one of his co-stories. no one is truly evil, no one is truly good, the way they played shax went against that fundamental message of the story of good omens and thats just sad.

on the positive side tho i think aziraphaels arc was so fitting, he needs to deconstruct his love for heaven as a character and needs to grow, im looking forwards to what they'll do with that in season 3, im also looking forwards to him and crowley doing co-miracles, if the tiniest half miracle they can manage together is that powerful imagine what they can do when its full beans, and of course i would LOVE to see them learn to communicate

overall i'm dissapointed in the realisation of this season but incredibly happy at the content and the bones of the story, its fun to be invested enough to want to rewrite it and have opinions and discuss it, but in no case am i actually mad or genuinely upset, if anything im looking forwards to the amazing fanfics that are going to come out of this, our love for these characters and this story go beyond a bit of choppy editing and a few out of character moments, i think as time goes on and the dissapointement fades i will truly enjoy this season and its funny and sweet moments, and i cant wait to expand on the ideas they offered us

Good Omens 2 Criticism

Real talk: I’m glad this sequel exists, but let’s not pretend it’s as good as the first series/season.

Hoping to spark some critical discussion - opinions welcome!

The plot itself lacked momentum. Sometimes the Gabriel plot line, which ostensibly is the MAIN plot, felt like a distraction to the getting Nina/Maggie together plot, which really is a side quest.

The Nina and Maggie characters are shallow, and their whole thing was unconvincing. Before the first ep, there’s no evidence to suggest that the two had ever even talked! How in the world am I supposed to believe that within the course of days these two are supposed to wind up together?

Gabriel…. So the idea of an amnesiac Gabriel is intriguing, but the resolution felt rushed and out of left field. That Beelzebub and he are…. in love(??), after just a few one-on-one meetings, strains belief. I don’t see it. I’m not a shipper, I watched the first season and they barely interacted. So we need an infodump/retcon in order to make it even remotely plausible.

Overall the season felt smaller, the stakes were lower, the themes less grand and less cohesive. If the first season was about trusting humanity with their own future (BIG IDEA), season 2 is about… getting two randos to fall in love, which is supposed to show the power of love?? Ierno that’s kinda thin to me.

Aziraphale and Crowley. These are the two I’m actually invested in. I ship them, like everyone else. I am sad about the ending, like everyone else. And I do think the scenes between them (both in the minisodes in the past, and in the present day) are the best parts of the series.

But I don’t want to reduce their love affair to a soap opera. There are some big concepts in the original Good Omens. Stuff like free will vs design, good vs evil, whether good is possible no matter the circumstance, whether one can find/create meaning in a world without meaning.

I want to see those themes played out in Aziraphale and Crowley. I want those discussions about dolphins and eternity and God. The Job episode delivered some of that, and it’s my favorite because of it. But overall I don’t think this season cared too much about big ideas.

And that’s sad to me. That may be fanservice and enjoyable for what it is but it’s not good.

1. i honestly have to guess the reason the anatomy is just SO bad in LO now is that the team gets such rushed sketches from rachel (youd be shocked how many series do this to their teams of assistants) and are on such a time crunch that yeah with a little more time they could fine-tune it to look better but they just go "fuck it" and follow exactly whats on the sketch and it just ends up looking like ... that. its not really the fault of the team but more rachel doesnt give them a lot to work with.

5. the athena/hesita ship is also bad bc theyre framed as hypocrites for not letting the poor straight girl persephone bone her near retirement age boss and theyre just?? stupid?? like they never get rid of their no sex rule? also rachel's past comments of hestia "getting over" being asexual (as if asexuals dont have sex? its a spectrum?) and the fact athena has to look like a Man™️ while Hestia looks like a Woman™️ so it's also a gendered gay ship too. It's just bad no matter how you cut it.

6. this is such an annoying thing about RS's "character designs" but why do NONE of them have even some distinct accessories to show who they are? Give Zeus a crown of lighting streaks. Give Hera peacock decals on her clothes. Have Poseidon carry his trident on his back. Give Hades a jewel skull tie pin. ANYTHING! The only one who has any is Persephone with blobby flowers which often aren't even there and lack any sort of rhyme or reason to them (other than blue for horny 🤨). It's so lazy!

OH MY GOD YESSSS I'VE BEEN WAITING 12 YEARS  WHOLE SEASON FOR THIS. Persephone's finally getting the punishment for all her deeds(and a pretty fair one, per se), she and Hades will finally be apart and Zeus being an actual ruler who makes big decisions and not some clown. Like yeah, there is also ugly art, plot twists out of nowhere, but this is just season 2 you can't do anything about. All and all this is the best chapter in the season so far, can't wait for LO stans to read it, ooh boy this is going to be fun

How would you rate your enjoyment of the four miraculous seasons?

That is an excellent Question.

On a scale of 1 to 10

(1 being unbearable, 5 being watchable, and 10 being AMAZING)

Lets start

Now I will mention season 4 is subject to change as we still haven seen all the episodes

Season 1: 8.5/10

Well in truth, while most of the episodes are fine, its pretty standard. It starts out strong and has some of my favorite episodes. Evillustrator, Stormy weather, Bubbler, Volpina, Origins. And I think origins is still the greatest episode of the show to date.

But most of the episodes are fine but not blow back amazing. It isnt until the end of the season when things really pick up.

But it is important to remember the show was still finding its bearings, and that it had to establish its main premise. I think it does that very well. So I think 8 out of 10 is perfect.

Season 2: 7/10

Now a lot of people will be shocked to see this. I honestly think that season 2 is one of the lesser impressive seasons. Sure it has great episodes like The Collector, Riposte, Dark owl, Syren, Gorizilla and Heroes day (Which is my favorite season finale so far). The episodes start to hit some valleys such as Frozer, Captain Hardrock, Maledikator and Gigatitan. And the way Chloé's arc is handled is... well its not great. In retrospect it feels like such a tease. But also it threw a lot of new characters and aspects about the miraculous and hardly did anything with it.

The main problem is that they wanted to go for serialization, but still didnt want to give up being episodic, so it kind of has this one foot in each side and it hinders it.

I think if it had a bit less filler and built things up a bit more, it could have been a much better season.

Season 3: 7/10

Now this was around peak salt time, and in retrospect I do get why. Season 3 has the worst episodes in the series, Reflekdoll, Animaestro, and Miracle Queen. (Chameleon was hit especially hard but I dont think its that bad of an episode now). But it also has the best episodes, like Oblivio, Startrain, Chat Blanc, and Loveater,

Season 3 has a LOT of peaks and a LOT of valleys. But I think they do try and add more serialization and actually develop what was established in Season 2. Though they do kind of skim on things that I felt were important, and Fu's mistake is still the DUMBEST reason for the fall of guardians. I will give them credit for trying to put less filler, and actually developing the characters they added.

I say season 3 ranks higher because it actually tries to build more on the serialization and make changes to the status quo. Now that doesnt mean I agree with every choice made, I will at least accept that it tried to make them

Season 4: 8/10

Now I cant deny that I enjoyed all of the episodes this season in some way shape or form. I cant really say there was an episode that I view as less than entertaining. I like the developments that are being made. Season 4 episode 1 is the best season opener episode. There have just been a LOT of amazing episodes Truth, Gang of secrets, Gabriel agreste, Glaciator 2.0, Rocketear just to name my favorites. It is really changing things up and honestly its got the peaks of season 3 with a consistancy closer to season 1.

Though i will say it does suffer from other problems. A lot of retcons that are so-so at best and stupid at best. The order of guardians is confirmed as a joke, the whole "You decide your limits thing" sort of breaks the miraculous, because if thats the case. Why do Ladybug and Chat noir have limits on how long they stay transformed. There are also still a lot of threads that have yet to be addressed (like the ladynoir conflict.)

The season also has HORRIBLE pacing problems. Its clear that even the best episodes needed to be two parters. Ephemeral is a prime example of that.

There are still around 6 episodes left, so they can bring the threads that havent been addressed to light, and I do have hopes they do.

We will see how it goes, and I have high hopes for it.

Momiji's curse has not broken yet. In the manga he is drawn as slowly increasingly taller than Tohru so his transformation to a man feels more natural. Tohru having a masculine name to offset her feminine sweetness is one of my favourite details about her! Also, how good is the moment at the end where Kyo pats Tohru on the head and she is shown very impacted by it (the panel with "Just forget about it"). It's those little details that are lost in the anime that mean so much.

Lets think back to how having a vision changes the direction of the shots & the emotions that you want your audience to have:

In the manga:

1- Vision: (showing human weakness)

2- Story direction: kyo had the nightmare of kyoko. Trigger: hearing tohru talk abt watching videos of someone is precious memory. Kyo laments that tohru wont ever hear her mom's words or see her talking & only console herself with a silent picture. This makes kyo thinks back to is guilt that he is able to tell tohru so much abt her mom but can't cuz then he'll have to confess in " his role in hurting kyoko" as he thinks. After the nightmare tohru notices kyo's pale face & worries & he comforts her. Both think that they're delusional in believing this is more than kindness & there's no way it's romantic love.

3- Result: the mode is set for the climax without he need for shock, cuz kyo is consciously battling his guilt & consciously stopping himself from loving tohru becuz he doesnt want to hurt her. Both kyo & tohru come out to the audience as immensely sympathetic, relatable & tragic. The audience cheers for them to be together despite fearing that kyoko indeed hated kyo somehow, the mystery is still there but is set at the back & the human weakness is forefront. The slow burn is driving the audience hearts & they're engaged 100%.

In the anime:

1- Vision: ( creates suspenseful drama)

2- Story Direction: kyo "forgets" kyoko's accident but remembers everything else, only the accident is forgotten? "weird" . he found sad tohru crying in her mom's death anniversary, comforts her & talks abt her mom a lot. She's wearing all black " this isnt a reminder that kyoko died?". He was visiting kyoko's grave earlier all by himself & not with tohru & co. cuz he felt guilty, for kyoko " but not the accident..no no.. he forgot that" ..." . Anyway, she takes him to her room, He panicked cuz of the hat, she panicked cuz of her mom's ghost. She SCREAMS! End ep with epic shattered kyoko picture. Next ep kyo remembers the accident, Trigger: the hat, not the funeral, or the grave nor tohru's black dress nor his words . JUST the hat. Tohru giggles downstairs & wonder why kyo is tired. tohru " forgot" kyo panicked in front of her.

3_ Result: setting the mood for the climax drama. The audience are so worried abt " the secret" kyo is hiding. OMG! will kyo confess? He MUST accepts tohru's love cuz they're sweet couple together! The suspenseful drama really pays off so much. But where is the focus on characters' weakness & depth???? The fact that kyo " forgot" the incident that is the reason driving him all the ep from its opening to its end is weird!!! I really wish the anime stuck to the " suspenseful drama" from the beginning & not showed how kyo remembered the accident itself many times in se1 to 2, not cuz this is the best writing, NO. but cuz at least kyo would be consistent. Tohru comes off way worse than kyo. She comes off dumb & cold. The fact that she isnt remembering that kyo collapsed is unbelievable. The fact that she never asked him what's wrong is the weirdest uncharacteristically bullsh!t that tohru has ever done.. remember tohru was worried abt a puppet in se02, horror house ep...

The anime successfully gets what they want: drama. really, the drama is perfect, not logical much but so perfect, also cool panicked shots & symbolism of broken picture....

Honestly, the only reason anime se3 ep 6, kinda worked is becuz ep 8 where kyo confesses his guilt is all focused on weakness & emotions. Kyo becomes sympathetic again & we understand his motivation. ep 8 is THE BEST ep in se3 hands down, perfect pace, deep & centered around emotions, not drama or suspense. wish I could say anything like that abt ep6 which was sadly.. a tohru's ep.

oh well~ with all its weakness, I still love the anime & i still think se03 is the best furuba season ever among furuba's seasons<3! the story is so good in se03, it's just, it could've been the best story ever for another 20 years to come, but the direction somehow thought today's generation has short attention spans & concentration issues so hit them with shocks before they get bored.. XD

The new key visual looks awesome!! Finally getting more Final Season artwork is so satisfying and this is pretty great! The marley arc is probably my favorite in the manga and getting even more promotional art for it is really cool : D Since we’re still 3 months from the airdate I hope we’ll get another Warrior-centric one, with the new and old crew, but rn, especially with manga context, I love this, and I need to ramble about it.

First of all, Mikasa!!! Mikasa front and center!!! lets gooooo ahh I’m so happy about this! I don’t think she’s ever been this focused on in any of the promotional key visuals and it’s been about time! She looks gorgeous and absolutely ruthless, I’m here for it. It’s also relieving to see that the scarf did in fact stay red which wasn’t totally certain in the pv. I also think it’s interesting that both that shot of her in the pv, as well as her in this visual both kind of highlight her more badass/ruthless side--I’m all here for it cause like, look at her!!! But she also spends a good amount of time in marley being sad and distressed which I hope they’ll do justice to. Either way, she looks amazing and I can’t wait to see her finally in motion.

Levi I’m a little less sure on--his face looks a little odd? Maybe it’s the nose? I’m not really sure. To be fair, his design has probably been the least consistent across the whole anime, and he’s certainly looked worse! But yeah, I’m not 100% sold on his look yet. Also just as it was in the first key visual, his cape is green? Even tho its specifically dyed black in the manga? I’m sure why and I’m kinda sad about that cause I would’ve loved to see that all black look on him, it’s an odd change.

Connie, Jean and Sasha all look good to me (I’m glad we’re getting Sasha artwork before, you know), but Armin gets pushed to the side pretty hard kind of? Given his rather small role this arc, I think it makes sense, tho hopefully key visuals for the later arcs will improve on that. Also sidenote, his pose reminded me a lot of Jean in the S2 Group visual lol

Hange being a bit smaller, but also being centered and depicted as the leader fits well here, especially with her being closest to the airship since she never leaves it. It reminds me of Erwin in a few other posters, kind of continuing the commander position, in a way

One thing I also dig about this visual is the look of certain textures, specifically metallic objects, like the blades, thunderspears, even the airship. 

It has this like..shiny glow? I can’t really express what I mean with it, but all these objects feel very tangible, very three dimensional, which is cool!

Unfortunately I don’t really feel the same way about all the textures present in this visual. See, non metallic textures, like clothing, skin, and the characters outlines in general have this kind of rough, or gritty look to them. The lines are clear and straight like they used to be, but it’s a little messier? The first key visual did the same thing, let me show you.

Compare it to something like this, where (even tho the resolution is a bit botched on tumblr) everything looks much smoother, cleaner, softer. Maybe it’s because I’m so used to Kyoji Asano’s style of drawing these key visuals for 6 years, but I think I prefer it over the approach of Tomohiro Kishi’s style. But this only is the start of seeing new artwork, maybe I’ll get used to it. It’s a bit odd as Wit’s animation style in the show was known for generally having thicker lines, and even tho they cut back on that in later seasons, it’s still not as thin as in the final season pv, yet its artwork has lines that feel thicker. It’s an odd back and forth.

My honestly biggest gripe with this key visual is it’s actual get up--having characters kind of float around in nothingness isn’t something I really love. I much prefer most of the older group visuals (like the recap movies or the S2 one) where characters at least seemed to stand on surfaces and physical space, and those who weren’t were either shown to be mid air, or obscured enough so you couldn’t see them stand in nothing. As a result, this reminds me a lot of the 3rd S3 visual

I wasn’t a huge fan of that one as it just reused and rearranged the Vol13 poses without really any effort. Like it just plants everyone there and I don’t think the result is really all that impressive. This one does this a lot better, as it has a bit more synergy going for it, there’s a bit of motion (the soldiers flying next to the ship looking like speedlines is a cool touch), and it just looks more interesting in my opinion. I also think it does the manga-ripoff better, as it clearly is meant to resemble vol 26 with the airship and the squad, but it doesnt just reuse the poses--they’re new here, and the overall positioning of everyone reminds me more of the Vol 25 alt cover, or the new 32 one. It feels true to the spirit of the manga without outright copying! I still don’t like the mid air floating, but other than that it’s a solid grouping!

One additional neat thing is that the new gear is drawn with so much detail! Just as in the PV. Which is awesome! Sometimes its a bit though to get a good look at all the specifics in the manga, but here it’s just---exciting. I never even realized that Mikasa has to swap to an entirely different set of 3DMG handle/trigger/grapple that’s attached to her gear as well--everyone else has only one set for either the gun+thunderspear combo or the swords, but Mikasa has both sets on her since she does switch to swords on 103. And its just fucking crazy just how much gear this girl has on her lmao (did you know a single thunder spear weighs 5kg? thats 20 on each hand! plus all the heavy gear that comes with it! she is too strong lmao)

Ultimately, I like this visual a lot. It’s not perfect and some things are gonna take a while to get used to, but overall, I’m so excited to see everyone’s different looks highlighted as the season goes on. And getting so much Marley arc promo atm is very much appreciated! Hopefully we get another one focused on the warriors soon, and, man, even tho it’s a spoiler, I would kill for one visual dedicated to Marley Eren specifically...like...please.

And yes u have seen what Dan Harmon has to say about Jeff and Annie, but theres more to it i think plus other writers.

I want a movie where Jeff and Britta end up together lol I have watched and rewatched the show for the past month on repeat, eventually focusing on relationship patterns (Annie/Jeff, Abed/Annie, Britta/Jeff). I understand that maybe up to the point the show ended Jeff might have finally accepted Annie as someone he loves, I am not fan of the age gap, but its understandable, their moments were sweet and unexpected. Jeff and Annie became better because of each other yes, but so they did with everyone. They are a community afterall. It was sweet but to me their relationship was a coming of age for both Jeff and Annie, she has a crush on him, or at least she is reacting to the way one would at 18/19 if you meet someone like Jeff who seems as a cool dude leader. And I mean, have you seen him? WOW HE HOT (with all fue respect) As he says there might be sexual tension and chemistry (he has it with everyone) and it makes sense in a life situation, who hasnt question at some point if a friendship might mean more than something platonic. The cool thing is when even if you crossed the barrier, and it doesnt work out, you can cross the barrier and can cross back, still loving each other as friends, and can be cool, cool cool cool. Seeing them together was nice and all, it just seem purely platonic. At least from Jeff's side. I dont think he sees her as a sister, but as someone who he wants to protect. And someone who reminds him of being young (specially season 6)

Towards season 6 Jeff is more mature in many ways, plus he has a beard, he has a somewhat stable life, and when Annie announces that she is going is a break of that part of his life that has been since s1. Now, it isnt until Abed announces his departure that you could see Jeffs balance shatter, because it is evident things are going to change for real. At that point he realizes that he loves Annie (or ay least doesnt see her as a child anymore) and does see her as something more, but to portray his growth as a person he is not going to pursue her (as Jeff Winger would) instead letting her fly. The kiss was a closure statent of their matured selves, now she is ready to leave the nest and get that record full of adventures, same as Abed. Joel Mchale was AMAZING! The way he portrays emotion touches your heart which i believe makes up for at least 85% of the sentimental beauty of this scene.Which is closing in a perfect circle as he was also seen by the group as someone who needed to be protected (not exactly but yall know what I mean).

Now lets talk about why Abed and Annie, Jeff and Britta. As mentioned before I have been picking up patterns and rewatching the show, Abed/Annie, he might say she is Chandler and he is Phoebe but i think he is trying to use a red herring, i feel like Abed is Chandler and Annie , she is Monica all over (and if anything Chandler was supposed to end up with Phoebe, im sure Abed knows that!) . There are many instances of flirty looks between them, the milestones they pass, their time as housemates, their kiss was OMG the build up of their friendship/relationship, 'stolen looks', specially things Abed say, their dance at paintball. I too want to add that on the Darkest Timeline Jeff and Annie are together.. is that the darkest timeline in Abed's head? This show tends to be Meta mostly through Abed.

Lets talk about my favorite ship Britta and Jeff. First of all why would people day there is no chemistry? Their episodes are so meaningfull, through the series Britta is the one that is there with Jeff through his toughest (his dad, his narcissistic day, and days,) she is there to call him on his BS. She helps the group come to.terms with growing up (Spanish 101 she made everyone realize, specially Jeff why Pierce was acting so needy toward him) and being better, yes she is human and makes mistakesspecially when Dan Harmon was there s1-3 when she is strong, witty, smart, caring and the heart of the group while Jeff is the Brainz). Jeff is the one person she admits not being perfect, they see their true colors, know them and also see that as humans they are trying to better the quality of such colors. They do make each other better humans. The way they interact with each other is of someone who knows everything about the other person and still loves them. yes people we have to admit just like with the group there is true appreciation and love between these two. They banter all the time, they are always play full and to me that is something you do with a soulmate. I feel like we were played into thinking they were not endgame to surprise the audience, avoid cliché. Abed calls it first, saying that they prevent them to being friends, theyn in s5 he says to Annie that it wouldnt last more than 6 episodes. But but but despute this when he is in Abeds show in S4 when Jeff and Britta were presented there was an insinuation they were a couple (they were kissing).

Moreover the group was obsessed with them, when discovering they where secretly doing it they put they blame of the years events on them. Its a pattern that return, so it feels like for the sake of the group they stay apart. It is true that they always pick on each other, and they act very guarded towards each other. Their bickering reminds me middle school picking on the kid you like because you dont know how to handle it. It makes sense s1 Jeff finds Britta attractive (I mean, have you seen her?) and wants to do her, so of course she puts her guard up, specially after the events of the first 2 episodes. She knows she only wants her for sex, but Jeff is seen having small moments in which you feel his affection for Britta grow. When she dates Vaughn he gets crushed after seeing her kiss him, even more after she tells him they septiembre together, it even seem like it was the first time that happened to Jeff. Now he starts being guarded, he doesn't want to get hurt, Jeff dates Slatter, and Britta finally accepts she has some affection for Jeff ( the way she reacted when he gives her the flowers.). To me their scenes are filled with sweet flirty, lovey glances. Even after they made Britta dirty (for God's sake the writers made her poop her pants in front of the group ):( there was always something there. If you watch s2 with the knowledge that they have been doing it, they seem pretty content, when seen together you can tell there is something relationshipy and sweet between them. After the group makes a big deal abou them Jeff says they have hooked up a couple of times, later seasons Britta says they dated (which Jeff denies), Jeff refered to Britta as his former lover to Duncan, when emails are leaked he admitts they did date (when we were dating), finally when they are tricking the grifter Britta refers to him as exboyfriend quite the egghunt there.

Towards the end of the episode Britta reacts big to Jeff/Annie will they might they (that following the post I love you kiss). Jeff has admitted that he still has some desires towards her (the hand episode) and when she is being loved by her former anarchist friends, he admits that her being liked turns him on. Is this why there is such a big necessity to put her down? They both are in defense mechanism, I feel that they saw each other as more but were not going to admit it for everything that it would entail with the group, and with each other (it would give leverage, which could be wrongly used) I feel they are afraid of being hurt by each other again, and look like fools. That also explains why they couldnt give it a chance. Again many moments, secret inuendos, touching, hugs (you have to look for them , you you will find them).

I would love to see a movie in which Jeff and Britta are together. Fast forward 5-6 years (maybe Jeff tried it with Annie for a bit and she got a bigger job out of state or country.) Maybe Britta and Jeff also gave each other a chance for a bigger bit. I would love to see a Mature S1 Britta, sassy, witty, passionate, someone who is a great psychologist and activist for womens rights in Guatemala or something) working for an american NPO. Some crazy community adventure in which the Annie Jeff will be teased but close as friendship, opening the Abed Annie ship. It would be cool to see her going back to Guatemala (or spanish speaking country), reading something, Jeff approaching, and her tryibg to avoid some 'stranger hitting on her' pretends to only speak spanish, to which Jeff responds something in the same language. To me Jeff and Britta make more sense than Annie and Jeff, JB usuLly hang, give each other advice and a hard ass time, with Annie I dont really see them interacting aside from the group at least not in a romantic way... JA have a crush on each other.

Maybe him proposing, and having a surprise wedding ending with everyone, bringing it full circle. What we leave with. I know its too long I have no potatoes, but I do have hope, and the advice of rewatching it with some consideration of the points I attempted to make..

Season 6 Episode 20: this episode actually confirms a lot and exposes a lot.

Jack "is too passive", and claims he's "just nice". I feel as if Jack just isn't easily swayed to go against the status quo. He is a genuinely nice guy but at some points it's obvious he's okay with taking the easy way out. Even if it means lying or denying his actual feelings about something. Example, Rachel expresses she doesnt like his outfit for the dinner party and despite HOW HE FEELS, he changes. (And thats a very tiny unmonumental thing but the principle is noticeable everywhere in jacks character)

And Cory and Topanga end up fighting after an honesty game.

Cory tells Topanga he doesn't like her need to be perfect all the time. She asks him why she's here with him at Pennbrook instead of Yale if that was the case. Basically saying that her giving up one of her many ideals and life goals cancels out his "need to be perfect" comment.

Then goes onto bring up how she doesn't want their relationship to go, and how she wants Cory to be happy with her using his toothbrush and razor.

This episode to me just kinda shows the state of mind everyone was in. And also made the truth of their relationships very very apparent.

And further adds to my observation about Jack and Topanga. About them needing or wanting to be in control (even thru compromise) and live these perfectly calculated and easy normal life.

Dorm Life - Morning Routine

Zen

this man wakes up at 5:30 sharp

he just likes having time to himself early in the morning~

though bro the max you have to wake up is at 6:25

he fixes his bed, takes a nice long shower, does some skincare and shaves if needed

sounds girly, but we stan men who do skincare and shave often

if he’s making breakfast he gets his earbuds and puts on some nice music to listen to

he’s gotten better at cooking and stays far away from hash browns...

makes a stellar basic breakfast (pancakes, bacon and eggs!)

he also likes having fish shaped bread sometimes! (Taiyaki)

if he’s not making breakfast he likes to chill and watch some latest performances from other companies for inspiration

ooh! he also likes to take care of some plants he has with the other members, his is a lovely rose shrub

Yoosung

the latest to wake up- seriously this man doesnt have a sleep schedule (like many of us lolol)

jaehee has to force him out of bed most of the time

if that doesn’t work she calls in reinforments...

which means seven pouring water on him

either that or threatening to delete his LOLOL account

that second one definitely gets him up.

he kinda fixes his bed and makes sure to check up on the latest news

doesnt wake up as early as Zen but 5:55 is still early in comparison to the others

why she likes waking up at that specific time?

it gives her five minutes of peace to fix her bed, and choose her book/news topic to read in the morning in either a book or on her phone.

she washes her face afterwords and does some skincare that Zen suggested

loves it when she gets to see the early morning sun

she then proceeds to read her respective book/news article and waits for breakfast

if shes the one serving, the she gets the pans ready relatively quickly.

she likes to cook potatoes with seasoning and vegetables along with some egg.

its decently plain and healthy but still taste amazing

she also whips up some fruit salad as a side

wakes up at about 6:10

atleast its not as late as Yoosung..

he kind of? makes his bed and cleans up his desk from the night before.

he grabs his computer and likes to do random info searches as a fun activity

he cant dance in the morning since hes so tired, but if he isn’t he also likes to dance a bit.

he also likes to look out at the sky, watching as the clouds float by... could be a distant memory of something or someone...

If hes in charge of breakfast you have three scenarios:

he cooks up some sweet breakfasts like french toast, crepes, or churros (he learned these form Yoosung and the internet)

he almost burns down the kitchen by putting TOO MUCH OIL IN HIS PANS

or he orders some breakfast food from a restaurant if he’s too lazy (makes sure to get one that delivers fast)

woosh woosh over to his planty!!!

he has a mint plant, and ahh the smell next to the lavender is so good. fun fact Yoosung sometimes uses it in his dishes

wakes up from his beauty rest and orders breakfast for that morning

while his private chef is making it, he likes to take a shower and prepare his outfit for the day

he admires the sunrise as he walks around the pent house doing tiny little errands

as much as he hates it he doesnt to get to spend all his time looking at the gorgeous sky since he then prepares to do all his business endeavours for the day

he makes sure to feed Elizabeth the Third by himself, and gives her a nice petting before breakfast is ready

his meal is spent replying to emails to ensure that everything is good and dandy

ahh forgot to mention this man wakes up at 5, sometimes 4:30 in the morning

why might he do that you may be asking?

well he does it because hes a good manager and blooming director. he wants to make sure everything is absolute perfection, or as close as you can get to it. (we really do stan our hard workers)

Lucifer Season 5A overall thoughts!

-i called it. I knew if they opened with Mr Said Out Bitch it was gonna be bc he was dead-- had to be, bc Lucifer was in Hell. Didnt like being right. Thanks for heaping a bunch of character development on a great bit of comic relief just so he can be dead.

-not enough Trixie. What the fuck. Is this a Chandler Riggs situation? Can Scarlett not act or something? Give her stuff to do please.

-EIGHT EPISODES AND NO SINGING LUCIFER???? GODDAMN BLASPHEMY

-i get why people are frustrated with how Maze is written bc it seems like she never does anything but go back and forth but I mean... that's just the writing across the board for this series. Lucifer, Chloe, and Dan have all flipflopped as the seasons progress-- character growth is handled the way real people are, with relapses in bad behavior and having to reiterate lessons more than once. Unusual for television writing, which usually addresses an idea once and then fucks off it forever.

-That said, I enjoyed Maze's arc of dealing with abandonment and seeking a soul. It made sense and was in character-- Lesley played Maze like she felt utterly lost, near madness from frustration, seeking comfort the way she best knows (sex and violence) from the people she loves and not knowing what to do when it wasn't working. I hate that she's so easily manipulated but I feel like it really is bc she wants to feel normal so badly and doesnt realise that normal is relative.

-tangentially, Lilith did not play as big a part as I expected and i was sort of disappointed.

-I wonder if the ring will now be used to pass lilith's immortality to someone who needs it?

-Tom Ellis' performance as Michael was v good as I previously said, but the entire concept of him was nothing inspired. I really had high hopes for him bc I love twins and especially twins who are like the bane of each other's existence but ffs they didn't do anything with it! So he's the polar opposite of his brother, so what! He's a wicked little American hunchback who lies and schemes and plays on people's fears... why? To what end? His plan kept changing and his entire motivation seems to be "bc I'm a dick." Boring. And he dresses like a twat.

-Lucifer was not stuck in Hell for remotely a long enough time. I am an angstwhore and I wanted pining. The same fucking thing happened when they made Dean a demon on SPN-- oh no we've had a decent idea and gotten our hero up the tree, now let's do absolutely nothing with it and get him back down aqap! Fuck off. They gave us this difficult, interesting situation to work with (how can Lucifer have a relationship if he has to run Hell) and then the moment he came up for the tiniest amount of time, Hell apparently no longer needs a warden! Srsly? When only two months ago, all hell was breaking loose???? Fuck your fucking convenient handwave.

-also I am sad they dropped the hinted mental/emotional toll on Lucifer for having to return to Hell Granted the article is a year old, likely discussing ideas that were in the infancy, but I was looking forward to seeing the "alcoholic running a liquor store." Obviously once they decided they were doing Michael-playing-Lucifer and summarily realised nobody would believe Lucifer changed that much, it was easier to just come straight out and say "yea thats not him, thats the evil twin."

-Amenadiel is lovely as ever. Charming, funny, the perfect mix of earnest and awkward. DB Woodside nails him and I love him. I love his friendships with Dan and Maze, the big brother instinct he gets with Luci and Chloe. He's a big black dude whose primary role is caretaker and I am here for it.

-Nice to see happy funny Dan back after taking a bereavement sabbatical in s4. I like Kevin Alejandro's performance a lot and so I dont like when Dan's being a dickhead bc it makes me wanna smack him. Loved him reading Diablo scenes w Luci-- reminded me of s2 when they were dorking out about the Weaponizer movies. And the cemetery scene, wow. Dan realising Heaven and Hell are real and that he is in danger of damnation and how bad that scares him-- ow my heart. That having been said...

-I didnt really like characters having these massive bombshells dropped on them just bc Michael is a douche-- that's so lazy. It felt like the writers ticking off checkboxes. Okay so he tells Chloe she's a miracle. That's fine I guess-- there are stakes there. We know it's going to rock her world bc we know how much it damaged Lucifer when he found out. But then he orchestrates Dan finding out and apart from the shock factor... who cares? It matters after, but not before. There was no set-up for that punchline. We knew when Linda pushed Lucifer to "drop the metaphor" that it was going to be a biblical shock for her. We knew what a relief it was going to be for Charlotte, who thought she was losing her mind, to learn that Hell was real and she could change her fate. We knew it was a gamechanger when Chloe found out. And that's why Dan gets the fuck over it super fast, bc it doesn't matter. It was just a box to be checked. Boo.

-it was nice getting to see Tricia Helfer bc I adore that woman but i really do hope that we get to see Charlotte properly again. Take me to the silver city already i am sick of not knowing what it looks like.

-i love Linda to bits. She's funny, she's heartwarming, she's the owner of the single braincell and she and Ella occasionally share it while they watch the others try to bite their own elbows.

Side Track Opinions Part 4: Patton

(Only three boys left! I think Patton may be the side who I’ve seen the least analysis about with regards to his playlist, so I’m excited to look a bit deeper)

1) Campfire Song Song: I don’t think the lyrics are very deep with this one 😂 You’ll find that a lot of Pattons songs talk about growing up, so I just find it fitting that a childhood song that probably brought Thomas a lot of joy is Patton’s first song.

2) Turnaround: Both Patton and Logan have songs from The Little Prince on their playlists, so my mind instantly goes to Logan. The song feels like Patton trying to get Logan out of his own head (““Straight (Straight), how can you be so straight? Life is everything but straight (Straight)” “Now, why don't you sing out loud? The tune you keep inside?”) He loves Logan a lot and thinks that sometimes he takes life too seriously and doesnt have enough fun (“Turnaround, and put your pen down”). Patton wishes Logan would relax and just enjoy life sometimes because he worries that taking everything so serious can be harmful (“How can you be so shy?” “Don't say hello, say hi”).

3) I Got a Name: Patton has trouble with Thomas growing up, we know this from the most recent episode. He worries that life is moving too fast and that he doesn’t know how to handle the change (“Movin' ahead so life won't pass me by”). Despite this, he has so many memories of Thomas’ childhood and he holds them very close to his heart (“I've got a song, I've got a song, And I carry it with me and I sing it loud. If it gets me nowhere, I'll go there proud”). Even though he cherishes these memories, he still thinks hes foolish to dwell on them and doubts he will ever be able to get over those memories (“Like the fool I am and I'll always be” “They can change their minds but they can't change me”).

4) Oranges: This song bothers me... Not in the fact that it’s a bad song or that its hard to understand, but it goes against everything we canonically know about Patton. While on first glance its a silly song about the words oranges and chocolates not rhyming with anything, its deeper meaning is actually more so about hiding away ideas and being afraid to make use of them (“How we take our ideas and put them in storage, But peel back the rind, who knows what you'll find”). If the song is supposed to be conveying Patton’s emotions, then I’m just confused. This song makes me feel like he wants to try out all of Thomas’ ideas and love every part of him, but we’ve seen his distaste for Remus is very obvious (“If you don't open a chocolate, who knows what you get”). I’m still on the train that Patton is the reason creativity split in the first place, so him saying things like these just make absolutely no sense...

5) I Don’t Wanna Pray: Although Patton takes religion very seriously and bases a lot of his morals on his faith, he has some doubts about whether religion can be the answer to everything (“Help me to the sun, hey I'm looking everywhere” “And now I don't wanna pray, no I say I don't wanna pray, no”). Patton has also begun to realize that God has created everything in the world, not just good and love, but also hate and pain (“I love my god, god made love. I love my god, god made good. I love my god, god made hate. I love my god, god made bad”). Perhaps this is shows his willingness to start accepting the darker parts of Thomas.

6) New Soul: Oh this is such a Patton song... Of course theres the obvious: Patton is Thomas’ inner child and encompases a lot of those feelings from Thomas’ youth. He hasn’t quite figured out how to function in Thomas’ more serious, adult life (“See I'm a young soul in this very strange world”). Then there’s lines like “Hoping I could learn a bit 'bout how to give and take” and “Finding myself making every possible mistake” that just feel so Pattony. He’s so lost and confused anymore when it comes to guiding Thomas in the right direction, but he tries his best. We can see that in the newest episode with him trying his less ‘assertive’ guidance. Despite this, he knows that he messes up all of the time and he feels awful for it. Everytime I listen to this song I just think of the “I’m sorry.... Again!...” line from POF.

7) Better Together: Oof... This is a tough one because its so loving and sweet. I find it hard imagining Patton singing to only one person, so I just like imagining him singing to Thomas, Roman, Virgil, and Logan. Patton, as we know, cherishes all of the memories that Thomas has created and that all of them have created together (“Our dreams, and they are made out of real things. Like a shoe box of photographs” “And all of these moments Just might find their way into my dreams tonight” “I believe in memories”). I also though it was super interesting that the song mentions “sepia-toned loving” because Patton’s room has a sepia affect when we see it in Moving On and I think this Patton’s nostalgia and this song go together very well.

8) Vienna: This song is so sad, but so sweet... To me, it’s pretty clear that Patton is singing to Roman (and obviously Thomas as well). He worries that Roman dreams too big and works way too hard in an attempt to acheive those dreams (“Slow down, you crazy child. You're so ambitious for a juvenile” “You've got your passion, you've got your pride, But don't you know that only fools are satisfied?” “Dream on, but don't imagine they'll all come true”). Patton wishes that Roman would be able to relax and just enjoy what he already has because he knows that Roman will only burn himself out in his attempt to accomplish everything he wants to (“Where's the fire, what's the hurry about? You'd better cool it off before you burn it out” “You're so ahead of yourself that you forgot what you need”). Basically, Patton loves Roman, but worries that some of his dreams are impossible to reach and that is hurting Thomas.

9) It’s You I Like: This song is for sure about Virgil or Thomas. I’m leaning more towards Virgil because the next song is also about Virgil. Really all I have to say is that the title says it all. Patton is ready to accept Virgil for who he is, problems and all.

10) Little Shadow: THIS SONG IS IMPORTANT! Patton is the one who brought Virgil out from the dark sides, or at least convinced him to leave for good (“Little shadow, to the night, will you follow me?”). I think this could be a big reason why Janus and Virgil have a lot of bad blood. Janus used to be Virgil’s source of comfort and protection, but one day Patton just decided to fill in that role and do it arguably better? I’d be pretty butt-hurt if I was Janus too. That explains why Janus was honestly such a jerk to Patton up until the end of the most recent episode when Patton accepted him. I think Janus realized just what Virgil must have felt like way back when Patton accepted him. Janus realized that he wasn’t good for Virgil like Patton is and that had to have stung... I guess we’ll see what happens between those two in the future...

11) Sad: What do yah know? Another Virgil song! This one was actually confirmed by Thomas to be about Virgil so that makes it easier to analyze for me 😂. Patton wants to help Virgil get over his pain and history with the dark sides, but he doubt if anything he does is helping (“You're just too good at being sad. I'm just a Band-Aid on a broken heart. Yeah, I'm the best at making you laugh for a breath, and you're back in your head, you're so sad” “Don't know if I'm hurting or helping” “All I wanna do is take the sad from you, But I can't and you wouldn't let me anyways”). It’s sad, its sweet, its very Patton.

12) Oh Heart: Thomas has a crush! Basically this whole song is Thomas singing about being in love with someone and him begging Patton, or his heart, not to make a fool out of him. I imagine Patton get’s really confused and jumbled up whenever Thomas is in love because love can do that to a person! It’s really cute and I honestly overlooked this song on my first couple of listens through the playlist. Here’s just some cute lines I liked: “Who am I kidding? You're the one” “Oh heart, Oh Heart, stop making a fool of me” “You should look at me. Look at me!” “I'm going to make you laugh again”. With this song and Jumpstarted from Roman’s playlist, I’m starting to see just how hard to handle Roman and Patton may be whenever Thomas has a crush 😂

13) The Flame: This one seems really deep, but for the life of me I cannot crack it. To me it just feels like Patton telling Thomas that no matter how dark things get, he can always look to his heart for the answer (“But hold on for your heart to beat inside To be your guide”). I honestly get really creepy vibes from this song. Like Patton is trying to get Thomas to ignore all of the dark parts of him and instead just keep listening to him and him alone (“There will be times that grow darker with the dusk, But light will still remain in us”). This song is just interesting to me because it feels like one of the first instances where Patton believes he has all of the answers and doesn’t need the others help. But truly, I’m not sure what this song is about.

14) Landslide: Did someone say time to cry? Cause it’s time to cry! This is a PERFECT song for the ending of POF where Patton admits to being afraid of growing up and changing. I think this song is Patton singing to Thomas about these exact fears (“Can the child within my heart rise above? Can I sail through the changin' ocean tides? Can I handle the seasons of my life?” “Well, I've been 'fraid of changin' 'Cause I've built my life around you, But time makes you bolder, Even children get older, And I'm gettin' older, too”). It’s honestly like this song was just written for Patton and it makes me wanna cry every time I hear it.

15) Float On: One word... REPRESSION! Not much to say other than Patton ignores all the bad things that happen to Thomas and just tries to act like everything is okay. Not a very good thing to do, but very on brand for Patton.

16) With a Little Help From my Friends: Another song that I hate to take at face value, but I don’t really have any other ideas for what it means. Whenever Patton is feeling down or in a slump, he looks to the others for comfort and support. Think, Logan giving Patton the cat hoodie at the end of Moving On. Those are the kinds of vibes I get from this song.

17) What Makes the World: (edited because I was looking at the wrong lyrics) Basically Patton thinks that love is the answer to everything (“Love makes the world go 'round”). No matter what, no matter how dangerous or serious a situation is, you should always trust your heart (“Oh, I heard to turn away a neighbour, Is living without danger, But that ain’t so”). All in all, Patton has a very unrealistic view of society. He tends to always see the good in people which can be a bad thing sometimes.

18) Somewhere Over the Rainbow: You thought the last song was foolishly optimistic... well youre in for a shocker with this one! Patton basically just goes on and on about how great the world is. I’m honestly starting to wonder if Patton is even capable of criticizing the world and the people in it. It seems like the only thing he can criticize is Thomas. Also, like I said in the last song, I think this creates an interesting dynamic between Patton and Janus: One loves the world world and only ever sees the good in everyone while the other despises it and sees the bad in everything.

19) Golden Slumbers: I feel like this one is way too short to get a huge idea on what it’s about. It seems to me like Patton is just comforting Thomas and reasuring him that things will be okay, despite the changes that are happening in his life.

20) So Long: AHHHH THIS SONG IS SO CUTE! It’s very fitting as Patton’s last song as well, based on the events of the last episode. If you can come up with an argument that convinces me that this song isn’t about Janus, be my guest, but it’ll be hard to do. In the song Patton basically sings about how Janus can be a pain in the butt and really get to him, but they work well as a team and he wants them to stay together as a team (“I won't get too sappy, I had no epiphany, I just enjoy your company” “You test my nerves, It makes me stronger. So can you bother me a little bit longer?” “Because it's been so long since I made a friend like you” “I could dot the I's and you could cross the T's, Cause letters alone are lonely”). Basically I love them, they are great, they are best friends now, and that after credit scene still has me shook over how quickly they just became friends. We stan our divorced dads 💙💛
