Dear younger self,

Story behind the reason why I am trying to make social again... (Short story)

Iiyak lang naman ako kapag pinag usapan toh! Iniisip ko pa lang sa utak ko naluluha na ko haha! Back when I was in my señior high school to 2nd year college napaka friendly ko, hindi ako nahihiya makipag socialize like to meet new people. Tapos one day nag pandemic then sumabog na lang ako sa nararamdaman ko na hindi ko alam why pero basta napagod na lang ako! Na puno na ko to please them just to make them feel na active ako, I am with them kakampi nila ko sa lahat, to prove na hindi ko sila iiwan kahit ano mangyari, to maintain yung existence ko sa buhay nila, na yes lang ako ng yes sa lahat ng sasabihin nila. I got fed up at hindi ko na manage ng maayos yung emotions ko. I say yes kasi kapag nag no ako ang dami dami nila sinasabi sakin. I decided to left and start a new life, new beginning. I became free but one day I saw my self alone, lonely, got anxiety, stress, always crying and everything was trauma.

A message to my younger me

I am so sorry for you self, sorry kasi maaga mo naramdaman yan, namulat ka ng maaga sa mga bagay na dapat hindi pa ee. pero ngayon I am now in my young adult self! Na overcome na natin yan ngayon tapos self alam mo ba I met dada na yung hinihiling mo dati diba? Na sabi mo gusto mo magka boyfriend na tatagal kayo ng years? Yun lang yung hiniling mo dati pero sobra sobra binigay sayo. Tapos ngayon self hindi na natin ngayon pinoproblema yung mag please ng tao, we are not people pleaser kasi kinalimutan ko na mag tiwala but good news kasi kahit konti lang friends natin ngayon totoo sila! Dati sinabi mo sa sarili mo na hindi ka lalagok self ng milk tea or coffee kasi napaka mahal ng presyo! Tandang tanda ko pa yan self! But look at us now self! Lumalagok ka ng napaka mahal na mga kape at milk tea ni hindi ka nang hihinayang 😂 kakahiya ka ang gastador mo pa!

Thankyou my younger me! I feel regretful but I cannot bring back the past, all I can bring is the memories. It's time to forget everything and start a new beginning. I love you, don't forget the Lord.

Duke Energy, which pled guilty 18 times for coal ash crimes in North Carolina, is now asking the federal government to weaken regulations that protect our communities from its toxic coal ash pollution.

In North Carolina, SELC fought alongside communities for almost a decade to clean up coal ash pollution from Duke Energy’s unlined, leaking pits next to rivers, lakes and drinking water sources.

Fortunately, Duke Energy is required by a court order and settlement agreements with SELC to excavate all its North Carolina coal ash pits and move its coal ash to safer, dry lined storage out of groundwater and away from waterways.

But Duke’s letter to the Trump administration requests changes that could affect the company’s obligation to clean up coal ash pollution that it has left behind in North Carolina’s groundwater, as well as removing essential protections against dangerous coal ash pits in other Southern states and across the country.

Paul Morand, amico di lunga data di Coco Chanel, riporta fedelmente i ricordi che la stilista stessa gli aveva affidato nel corso di numerosi incontri; il libro è dunque una sorta di confessione, da cui emerge la sua vita tumultuosa e il suo pensiero, in particolare sulla moda e sulle donne.

Nella breve introduzione, Morand definisce Coco Chanel — di cui era notissimo non solo il genio creativo ma anche il pessimo carattere e la lingua tagliente “un angelo sterminatore di uno stile”, “una bocca d’Eumenide”, “un cuore di selce”, “una nemesi” e dice di lei che in quei colloqui: “C’è il lato d’ombra di Chanel, la sua sofferenza, il suo gusto di far male, il bisogno di castigare, la fierezza, il rigore, il sarcasmo, la rabbia distruttiva, l’assoluto di un carattere che suggeriva il caldo e il freddo, il suo genio inventivo, saccheggiatore; quella belle dame sans mercy avrebbe inventato la povertà per miliardari (mentre cenava con stoviglie d’oro), la semplicità dispendiosa, la ricerca di quel che non attira l’occhio ed ancora: “Quella voce impetuosa, che rotolava lava, quelle parole che crepitavano come sarmenti secchi, le risposte che azzannavano e divoravano con la stessa lingua, un tono sempre più perentorio man mano che l’età la incurvava, un tono che revocava sempre più, che invalidava sempre più, condanne senza appello che ascoltai per serate intere, in quell’albergo di Saint-Moritz
