Dear Diary,

It's day two of this... epidemic. Recently deceased people are coming back to life. Only, they're not really alive, their bodies are like puppets being controlled by some kind of parasite or something that only activates upon death. They're feral and violent, spreading some sort of disease that kills you, which, in turn, creates more of these corpses. It's like a fucking nightmare. I've only seen them from a distance, but they're completely unhinged. There seems to be no sense of their former self, just mindless vehicles of violence. Dad and I are locked inside, watching the news on repeat. The government seems just as clueless as us, which doesn't inspire confidence in our chances of survival. I've boarded up the windows and moved the couch in front of the door. We're keeping the TV as low as possible, they seem to be attracted to sound. Dad seems optimistic that they'll have this all figured out soon... I just don't know.

Dear Diary,

It's day four. We're leaving for the refugee center today. That's where they're telling everyone to go, that it'll be safe. Maybe Dad was right, I'm too pessimistic sometimes. It's only a 30 minute drive from us. Dad and I are gonna take the RV, more space in there. I'll write back when we get there.

We're here now. The military searched us head to toe when it was our turn, like we were smuggling drugs or something. I don't know what they were looking for, signs of infection probably, but they didn't have to be so forceful. They searched the RV, too, and took our food and water. I should've thought to hide it. I'm not so sure about this place, hopefully it's only temporary.

Dear Diary,

It's day 16. Maybe technically 17, it's late and I don't know what time it is. The refugee center was overrun. The dead ones just flooded in. It all happened so fast. Dad and I picked up a girl who was fighting a few of them off. Her name is Andrea. She says she's from Florida and she was on a roadtrip when the outbreak happened. Tough luck, huh? What's more... we're currently stuck on the road out of Atlanta. There are too many cars piled up, we can't get out.

They just bombed the city. The military dropped Napalm on Atlanta. There are still people stuck in the city.

Dear Diary,

It's day 17 now. I didn't sleep at all last night. Dad, Andrea, I, and a few other survivors stayed up together waiting for another bomb to drop. It didn't. We're gonna move to the quarry and set up camp there. There's really nowhere else to go. We have a radio, maybe we'll find something else out, some other safezone. Until then, this is all we've got.

THE SURVIVOR'S HANDBOOK

Name... Luka Horvath; known primarily as Luke to her closest friends and family.

Date of birth... June 20, 1986; currently 24 years old.

Prior occupation... She became an EMT fresh out of highschool; though she can be useful in a pinch, her medical knowledge is admittedly pretty surface level, she's no doctor.

Weapon(s) of choice... Usually a machete; she's been training with a pistol, courtesy of Shane, but that's only a last resort. She also keeps a pocketknife on her at all times, just in case.

Family... Her parents are Dale and Norma Horvath; Luka's mother died of breast cancer when she was only 5 years old, she has very few memories of the woman that brought her into this world. Her dad raised her entirely by himself and never remarried or even dated anyone else after Norma died.

Closest allies... Andrea and Glenn; she met Andrea first and, thus, they had a sort of established bond before joining the others. Andrea says Luka reminds her of her little sister, Amy, back in Florida. Glenn and Luka are closest in age, so really their bond was only natural. They both keep the morale high. Playing tag with the kids, swimming in the lake, intense games of tic tac toe, whatever distracts them from the death and doom that the world is full of nowadays. Shane thinks they have better things to do, but it can't always be about survival, can it? It has to be about living, too.

Personality...

A true realist, she admittedly finds herself agreeing with Shane from time to time, though his approach leaves much to be desired.

Observant and strategic. Good at negotiating. She had to deal with many types of people during her time as an emergency responder.

Sentimental and kind. These traits seem to be at odds with what she knows to be true in this kind of world, and yet she can't seem to shake them. They make her weak, she knows that.

Sarcastic and lighthearted. Always trying to keep everyone upbeat and positive, because negativity is unproductive. Even if she feels like a situation is doomed, unless there's anything that can be done to fix it, she knows to keep her mouth shut. Morale is very important, after all.

Have you shifted? If yes how was it?!

yes! i've been shifting for a long time. i shifted when i was a child here (although i did not call it shifting then) and then stopped for a long time. in a way, i had to teach myself to shift all over again. if you mean how the shift itself feels, i generally shift while awake, through meditation and visualization. the moment i shift is mostly anticlimactic. you know how it feels to relax a muscle? it feels like i do that, but with my awareness, and then i slip into my DR.

my main DRs currently are hogwarts, the walking dead, an alternate CR, and a DR of a game called "sky:children of the light." i have others i haven't shifted to yet. obviously, each of these realities is very different so the experiences there are different. if you're curious about a specific one, feel free to ask, and i'll share what i'm comfortable with. i plan to make DR intros at some point!

i just saw something on tiktok.. i forgot the original one who said so if you know please comment it. anyways so it was something like, if you’re struggling shifting why not treat your cr as if it were one of your drs like make a name for it such as what you want to be (example; if you wanna be a writer in this reality call this reality your writer dr) and if you don’t know what you wanna be yet call this reality your shifting journey dr. at night or whenever you’re going to shifting saying you’re shifting to said dr and when you wake up here you’ve shifted here of your own intent like you’re in your dr, you actually shifted and it’ll also show your mind just how simple shifting is plus you’d be in the mindset of already shifting which could help you.

Okay so for my favorite people I think I’d have to say Rick and Daryl since they’re both like my older brother figures and Carol as well since she also kind of steps in as my mom of sorts. I love them all though, they’re my family <3

And I was with the group pretty much since the beginning. We (me and my s/o’s) where alone for about two ish weeks after the start just in our apartment before Glenn came to our building scavenging for food and he took us with him back to the group.
