Mary stood a bit excitedly, holding her purse. She finally got out of Gotham thanks to good behavior, good therapist sessions alongside Danny's support help motivate her.

She considered Batman to keep an eye on her to see if she slipped up, but the interrogation check-up about Danny and some sort of infinite realm tick her buttons considering danny be all by kind and honest to her.

He listen to her and respect her boundaries well enough. She didn't care if he the freaking infinite king, he can be king of cheese and she wouldn't care.

Mary fiddles her hands a bit, grabbing at a Needoh Squeeze stress relief toy to squeeze outta of anxiety given by Danny. His sister recommended him for her as a calming tool whenever she felt stressed or aggravated.

She was standing in front of a vintage yet kind of modern old fashion cozy restaurant that would fit the late 1980s in the part of Gotham not too often touch by crime.

Mary was wearing a casual blue blouse and brown bermuda that actually fit her size thanks to a recommendation by Danny for an online site named the Spirital Seamstress.

She didn't cry a bucket of tears when she tried on each and every clothes, shoes, and accessories that fit her just right in her rundown apartment a week or two with Danny and his exotic much older friends named Sam and Tucker as her audience commented on how she brighten those clothes up.

Sam brought her gift of a small exotic succulent that was a graptopetalum that didn't need much water but enough bright light and to let the soil dry out before water again.

Tucker the ever business typing on his egyptian cased design phone, gave her the official Fenton protection phone along with an offering to security her apartment down in exchange for anything danny does embarrassing on their da- which Danny elbow him hard in ribs.

Mary can see the great friendship between the three as she held the offered phone case.

Then there was his cousin-niece, she was thinking half sister who had similar but not quite bad as her immunities suck but at least she didn't inherit the gof awful gene to look way younger then she was and ruin ev-

Mary shook her head a bit to not get too lost in her thoughts as she saw danny rushing over to her, a bouquet of marigold, baby breaths, hydrangeas, eustoma flower, sunflower windflower, peruvian lily, and daisies that look comedically large in his hand.

He was wearing a thermal shirt and blue Jean with black and red shoes that looked lovely if he hadn't minorly splashed by random car speeding by a moment ago.

Mary couldn't help the giddy smile creeping up on her like a ghost with her heart beating faster than a bullet train, as two misfits like them.

A 30 year old women who looks like a 12 year old little girl and a 36 year old man who looks like a 14 year old preteen on their first date together.

Her first official date and his first in a long while.

When the waiter asked, "Aren't you two a bit young to be on a date?" Mary and Danny couldn't stop the bubbling laugh from them.

One of my favorite things in GF fics is when Stan throws something Ford has said/ written about him in his face.

Like, for example, some time during their travels Stan somehow reveals that this whole time he's had this creeping thought that Ford only wants him around out of guilt or obligation. Ford is naturally taken aback by just how far from the truth it is and, more importantly, very hurt that his brother can even think that about him.

And so Stan says something along the lines of

"Am I supposed to believe that you suddenly give a shit about me now? Or is it just that I've done something worthwhile for the first time in my life? That I was useful to you?"

And Ford's immediate reaction is

"God, Stanley, why'd you even think-

-oh"

Like, the whole thing of Stan still thinking about those words that were said years ago, now when everything is fine and when Ford is actively doing everything he can to show his brother that he loves him. Meanwhile Ford never thought much about those words, never placed any importance on them and only perhaps meant them the moment when he said them, when he was angry and very tired. He didn't even really regret them because he didn't remember about them, that's how little they mattered. But they mattered to Stan, still do and haunt him every day

I did consciously process today that the "How high up does this darkness rise?" "About a mile." "That is fascinating." "Oh, there's so much more. :3" exchange is the literal first words that Caleb and Essek say to each other directly, which is HILARIOUS to me because it's always been on my list of wildly early moments in which the wizards were, for no reason, partaking in what we shippers back in the day used to call 'eyefucking'. Literally from day fucking one.

One of the things that pisses me off about MWIII and the lead up to it so bad is that whole "Oh I wasn't in the tank" thing around Graves.

Because it takes away from my success as a player and its just dumb.

But more importantly because Activision for some reason decided to play it like "Look at Soap being so dumb thinking he killed Graves, isn't he a ridiculous little man?" while Graves is given the "strong survivor" treatment by them.

Soap took out a tank.

Without dedicated gear.

He survived multiple assault teams while at it too. Not just survived, he took them out as well.

And then blew up a tank with nothing but some C4 to a point where no one in it could have survived.

Like he did that and you're telling me Graves wouldn't be fucking afraid of running into that guy again? If being in a tank can't save you from his wrath you're telling me he ever felt safe around him?

Nah. No way. We deserved to see him flinch the moment Soap enters the picture. To keep to the other side of the room. Trying his best to work with anyone but him.

Soap is unhinged and highly dangerous, or he would have waited for his chance to piss off instead of fighting that thing but he gets treated like instead of letting loose of his anger over the betrayal he was just a big dumb dumb and everyone else was in on the joke.

Like fuck man. That also means the player is seen in the same way, like you thought you just won a cool boss battle? Oh you stupid little player, that was for nothing and we're gonna take that feeling of success back. Games don't need to be gratifying, do they?

Actually that probably could be MW3s whole title.
