sooo i'm gonna pick the zombie apocalypse bc zombies are one of my all-time special interests ghfjdskdhf

AMARA growing up as royalty , amara was taught a variety of skills , including but not limited to archery , equestrianism , needlework , jousting , and , per her own request , tinkering . baring these skills , she would protect herself and her fellow survivors in a zombie apocalypse , and could definitely hold her own if needed . LAINA laina grew up in a middle class suburban neighborhood . as an only child , she never so much as roughhoused with anybody growing up . she is a bit overweight and lacks any notable athletic skills , so that's definitely a disadvantage in a zombie apocalypse . she also has too big of a heart and watching those she loves perish would probably cause her to crumble under the pressure of it all . she has slim chances of survival unless she finds refuge from the undead in some kind of sanctuary or safehaven . PENNY penny is technically already surviving in a post-apocalyptic world , but hers is post-nuclear and she lives in the comfort of a bunker . she's never even been to the outside world before , and has little to no combat training , unless you count beating up the asshole boys who used to bully her . however , her medical knowledge makes her invaluable to any team , so if she found a group of people , they would most likely do anything to protect her .

you seem to have a knack for drawing Very Good Robots. do you have any drawing-robot-relevant wisdoms you think would be important for someone who wants to draw more robots

build gunpla or watch gunpla building videos. im not joking. i know this sounds like a joke but my understanding of articulation and like. how designs can fit together in general, skyrocketed once i started assembling robots and seeing how all the individual pieces locked together, plus made me study different possible shapes and styles for robot design.

Mechaforce by E.J. Su is an art book that goes over logic behind robot shapes, and in my mind its the same information i got from building gunpla, but in a different format. both are good and helped me improve.

but as usual, the general gist of advice is just 'study and practice'

hi! i have a puppy that looks exactly like your Latke. Her name is Zhucka and she's barely a hair darker in tone but has the SAME FACE and It really trips me up. I know they aren't siblings for a fact so I just think its neat that there's not one but Two Prettiest Dogs In The World!

Its so damn sad because Bonnie is a fresh, just right out of the oven oc. He has mostly vibes and no real story to go with his awful personality. All I know is that he cannot keep a job more than a week. He doesnt really need to keep it anyway, since his parents are very rich and over protective, but he fled his home anyway. He's a grown ass man with a emo teenage crisis, and hes insufferable.

BUT I love him dearly already. Maybe a bit too much.

@silverdama Glad you asked! (Because I'd already forgotten I said this.)

The very first page has a Bit about how touchscreens don't work with Robo's hands, which is just kind of a topical tech quip.

And then in issue #3, a touchscreen cell phone that he can't answer is used as bait for an ambush. It's a smart callback, right? A trap set just for him as the only member of the team who would be tripped up by a touchscreen. Which our trap-setter would know, having been eavesdropping on his communications recently.

But in one of the Nuts & Bolts episodes Wegner sounds very embarrassed about a time he drew Robo answering a smartphone without thinking—right after they established he couldn't use one. It took me a while to realize THIS had to be that bit.

(In retrospect he clearly does answer it here despite the dialogue insisting he didn't, and a loud noise begins playing over the line he definitely didn't pick up, somehow.)

But! I still love taking this as on purpose in-universe, partly because it's so very smug. "Watch me exploit human technologies easily, as myself, while you pantomime interacting with them like a person for some reason and STILL their world isn't built for you."

The touchscreen being given meaning like that makes the opening joke a micro version of the more serious discussion that ends the arc: Robo refusing to be sold the line that his concerns don't overlap with human concerns, and on a larger scale, how raw "technological progress" leaves some people behind—not even out of malice, but because it didn't occur to the inventors to care.

last year I realized that my favorite little genius detail of The Ghost of Station X was, in fact, an artist error. That has not stopped it from being my favorite detail however

I might continue this comic, but I haven't really planned anything for it yet. I kind of imagined it as a one-shot, but I see why people want a continuation

I imagine Auditor keeping his word in regards to giving Sanford the right coordinates and keeping Deimos alive for the next few hours, but...yeah. Deimos is not gonna be okay when Sanford gets there. If he gets to Deimos at all.

Segway into a discussion about the potential ending to this story - I think yes, if it were a "good" ending, it would absolutely have to consider Hank in the equation :D Because Audi is such a competent villain here, I don't think he's just gonna roll over and let Sanford have it his way (And if Sanford showed up with Hank, he would have just straight up put a bullet in Deimos's head 🤔).

I kinda don't trust myself with this :D I'm new to writing, and the only reason the comic turned to be good is because it's set under very controlled conditions. One room. Three people. No Hanks, no Docs, no wildcards. Auditor completely dominates the narrative and Deimos and Sanford are just reacting to him. Audi catches Deimos off guard, catches Sanford off guard, gets both of them screaming at the top of their lungs - booyeah :D End of the scene.

Aaaand I'm not sure if I can write Auditor losing that complete control over the situation in a believable way, you know? So far, he's played all of his cards right. What would be the point at which he finally slips up?

Somebody, please figure that out for me 😭
