today, i found out about b1gc4lgut.
some would be tempted to take this as a sob story about the dangers of online communities, and see the world as a darker place for having encountered this person. but i find something inspiring in the story of b1gc4l and how they were run off.
cw: incest and homophobia, under the cut
looking at their behavior… the squid sisters incest part didn't really surprise me, but how can you be homophobic and a splatoon fan? how does that work? literally everyone in the game has ✨queer energy✨, thats like a huge part of the reason why it's a unique game in the first place (other parts including the unique gameplay and the heavy social commentary of the story, both of which are celebrations of queerness and also neurodiversity in their own ways)
like, if you look at their blog, they say bye to the splatoon fandom and bigcal is canon. you'd think they got driven out for shipping bigcal, but… no, you got driven out for spamming people asks with an image of callie and marie kissing, making homophobic comments, and making a new account to harass people who previously blocked you. sit DOWN.
now, there are many bad things that can be said about the splatoon fandom, most of which are not unique to splatoon. but what really got bigcal laughed out of the community is not some great failing of the internet – it's a great success story of the splatoon fandom; one trait we have in spades, moreso than any other community i've ever been a part of.
in the splatoon fandom,
we look out for our own.
if you mess with one of us, you mess with all of us. if you act like a child and harass people, then we're all going to come together and block you until you can't get away with it anymore. if you make an alt account, we'll call you out on it and ID you, and we'll make sure that all our mutuals hear about it before you can get to them.
it's not just a tumblr thing, either. on a discord server i'm in – a crossover server, in fact; not even a splatoon server – a new person joined in recent memory who had a callie pfp. i recognized it as splatoon and got a little excited – it's a fellow splatoon fan! so, i approached them, but… they didn't really react how i expected.
they acted a bit strange – they barely acknowledged me, which is weird, since splatoon fans in my experience are generally excited to see each other in the wild. another person in the server, a fellow splatoon fan, thought the same thing… and also noticed the new person seemed rather familiar, even though the account wasn't one he'd seen before.
so, he asked them if they knew each other. all of a sudden, they got super evasive and suspicious, then suddenly went offline. not a good look!
that other long-time member and i had only really had one conversation before, where i chatted with them about splatoon lore. we barely knew each other. but, when it became clear the new guy was hiding something, that other person DMed me and asked what i thought. i told him, truthfully, that i didn't recognize the new person at all, but i had a real bad gut feeling about them.
in minutes, we'd gotten in contact with a team of at least 10 other splatoon fans we knew, and all of us worked together to figure out what was up with this person based on publicly available information. the discord account on which they joined was just weeks old, and no one recognized it; it linked to a social media account, probably just to get past account verification, which was made the same day as the discord account and had zero activity.
it rapidly became clear that this was a very high-effort throwaway, created by someone who really didn't want us to know who they were, painstakingly crafted to dodge even the strictest verification algorithms while giving no information about the person behind the screen.
as it turns out, the person we were so suspicious of was a highly dangerous individual who had previously been banned from the server multiple times on multiple different accounts. this was just their latest, and most subtle, attempt to worm their way back into the server.
and they might have gotten away with it, too, if only they hadn't made one crucial mistake: they used a splatoon pfp without talking the talk, and that got the actual splatoon fans' attention.
i've never been prouder to say: don't fuck with the splatoon community. if you do, a plague upon thy house, woe upon thy relations, and shame upon thee. all hope abandon, ye who enter here; look upon our works, ye mighty, and despair.
never underestimate the power of community.

I think one of the biggest issue with the pjo fandom is how divided everyone is I heard there was a zine but it was never mention on twitter I just stumbled on it on tumblr.
Oh absolutely - the different social media platform sections of the fandom rarely communicate with each other at all. Most of the discords i'm in are very tumblr-centric (not intentionally - it's just tumblr is where they're advertised the most). There were several years awhile back where I wondered where all the fandom had gone, since I was still primarily on tumblr, and it turns out the majority of the active fandom had shifted to instagram. For a bit pjo tiktok was super active, but that's died down a lot in recent years too. PJO TV side of the fandom is active on twitter, but with twitter (and tiktok) dying who knows where everybody is gonna go next.
I have seen with a multitude of zines, not just in PJO fandom (though particularly in pjo fandom) where they'll be completely lacking in advertising on one platform versus others. Most commonly I see a zine's tumblr advertisements and updates be lagging way behind the other social media, or I've even seen them just stop completely while all the other socials continue to update. It's unfortunate but common. There are zine tracker blogs, but half of them are dead and most of the active ones are multi-fandom, so the riordanverse ones get buried easily if they are noticed there cause we have so few. There used to be a pjo-specific zine tracker, but it died pretty quickly and hasn't been active in ages.
One of the things I've been trying to work on is making a big compilation of official social media, adjacent, and general fan community hubs (what tags people use, if there's groups on that site, etc etc) across different socials to help people find stuff easier ( @riordanversehub ). Like, "#Rickstagram" was supposed to be the "official" Riordanverse tag on instagram according to the UK newsletter, but nobody used it. People barely even knew the newsletter existed, despite being an official media. It's legitimately difficult to keep track of this stuff and we have no official or fan-run organization system for it!
My thing is still a WIP but like i said, it's trying to organize as much as I can on there with resources and directories and everything, and I'm hoping once I can get it up and running it can also function as a fandom events calendar and zine/projects tracker. It has a bunch of sidebar pages up right now though with WIP info, and i've been trying to keep track of zine statuses in both a sidebar page on there and also my fandom infrastructure page on this blog as well.
#pjo#riordanverse#fandom infrastructure#Anonymous#ask#also like i've said before - if anybody ever runs into/makes/knows of other fandom infrastrure blogs for pjo let me know!!!#*and for general riordanverse. especially general riordanverse

WIBTA for warning a friend that a mutual acquaintance has been SUPER racist in the past?
Over 5 years ago, I had an old friend who got chased out of a Discord server because the mods allowed another member to spout some incredibly racist things to her. I approached the server owner and asked why this person was allowed to remain in the server, and their response was that, since this person later apologized (which was literally a BARE MINIMUM level apology) and that it was a public server, they didn't have to ban her. I and my friend proceeded to leave the server, and have never rejoined.
Later, I made my own server and invited a few people from the old one that I was still friends with. Gradually, my server grew, and both the owner of the old server AND the racist eventually ended up joining. My first friend that they had been racist to was no longer active on discord because of them, and because this racist was never outright racist in MY server, I've let them stay. We, however, do not talk and they rarely interact with the server in general.
Another friend who does not know the racist or the original server made her own server that's casually connected to mine. Just recently, the racist joined. I'm debating letting this other friend know of this person's racist past and to warn her to keep an eye out, since I'm not a mod in that server. I would not try to get this person banned, I just want to keep my friend updated and aware of who is in their server.
For what it's worth, I have no evidence that this person has changed for the better or worse.
So, Tumblr. WIBTA if I told my friend this person has been super racist to the point of bullying another friend off the internet?

FixTF2: What Happened, Why Did Valve Step In, And What Comes Next?
DISCLAIMER: I am in no way affiliated with neither Valve nor the people who run the FixTF2 petition. Do not treat anything I say here as any official announcement of any future plans for the movement. All my thoughts and opinions are mine and mine alone.
As of the making of this post, the save.tf has officially closed down to new signatures, racking up a generous 343,711 total signatures. I've made my thoughts on FixTF2 clear in the past, where I said that I didn't have much hope that Valve would actually do something, but to my surprise, Valve seemed to have finally stepped in and done something about the bot issue plaguing the game for 5 straight years beyond the usual half-assed band-aid fix. In light of Valve surprising me, I want to talk about what's happened, some speculation as to why Valve is potentially doing this, and what I think comes next from all of this.
So, let's clear some stuff up: Is Casual really bot-free?
From what I've seen and heard, yes!
Starting around June 25th, multiple sources reported a massive drop in the active player count for Team Fortress 2 from Steam Charts, being around 15,000-16,000 users vanishing overnight. Many people suspect this to be a large-scale ban wave Valve enacted, and there is a large amount of evidence to support this. (More info from this video by shounic here) Since then, up until the day this post is being written (July 1st 2024), people have reported that Casual servers across all regions have been fairly bot-free, with only the occasional one popping up, a far cry from a month ago, where servers were flooded with them no matter where you went. I myself even hopped on a few games and to my surprise, there were no bots to be found whatsoever. Its honestly been super refreshing to see the game be this clean, as now its actually fun to play once again. I haven't touched the game in months, but since the bots have been kicked out for a little bit, it feels good to play once more. If you haven't played the game for a while cause of the bots, now's your chance to hop in and enjoy the game. Its actually fun to play now that the bots have been squashed. On top of that, (as of the time this post is being written), Valve appears to still be actively curbing cheaters and bots from the game, even setting up a dedicated Steam support page for anyone who gets a game ban here.
So, why's Valve doing any of this?
This is where I'm going to step into speculation territory, as Valve being Valve means there's barely any information they will share with the public, but I'll do my best to come up with some logical explanations. I would say that Valve doing a ban wave has both a short-term goal and a long-term goal. The short-term goal was Valve was always intending to do a ban wave, it just took a while to do. What I think happened was Valve took a while to collect a database of known bot accounts and (presumably) their hosters, and from there, once Valve felt they were comfortable with the amount they had collected, they pulled the trigger and proceeded to wipe them out. They obviously couldn't just outright say "Hey, we're gonna do a wipe of the bots soon" because that would have given the hosters plenty of time to set up proactive measures to make Valve's job harder. The only evidence I really have for this is the dropoff of players on Steam Charts, which shows around 15k-16k players mysteriously disappeared from the game, which seems to point to Valve issuing a game ban toward said accounts/deleting them entirely. Alternatively, Valve could have banned a limited amount of accounts, much lower than the 15-16k shown by Steam Charts, but it sent a scare to hosters who deactivated their bots and took them off the game once they knew Valve was watching them, but this explanation I don't have much evidence to prove beyond scattered Discord screenshots of supposed hosters telling people to change their bot configurations due to Valve clamping down on them. The long-term goal of this, though far-fetched and lacking evidence to support, could have to do with Deadlock, their next game, as a proactive measure to prevent these same malicious actors from flooding the game on Day 1, something many people have pointed out and what's happened to CS2 not even a year into its launch.
(UPDATE: Ok I might as well address this cause it did come up while I was writing the post, but a Team Fortress 2 DLC for an upcoming Funko Pop game called Funko Fusion was announced, and people have said that the only reason why Valve squashed the bots was because Valve wanted the game to look good in time for the crossover.
Now I am by no means a fan of Funko Pop, I think they look a bit ugly and there's a myriad of other things people take issue with, but that's all outside the scope of this post. I personally don't care that this is happening to begin with, as Funko Pops are something I routinely forget about, so as far as the DLC existing, I don't care that much. That being said, if it is true that Valve only squashed bots due to this collab happening to begin with, then that is pretty sad and disappointing to see, with how Valve wasn't motivated to fix the issue until a different company came knocking and asked them to do something cause they didn't want the DLC to look bad. But since there's no confirmation this is the case, Valve does have some level of plausible deniability here, and ultimately, something good did come from this, at a (to me, cause I couldn't give a shit about Funko) nonexistant cost so I won't complain)
So now time to return to the last part of the question in the title: What comes next?
Well for one thing, the war has not been won yet.

A big mistake with SaveTF2 was once Valve tweeted that they apparently "heard" us and were working to improve things, people largely declared victory and chose to stop there. Yet things didn't substantially improve since then, only cascading into a far worse situation. This time around, we cannot give up as quickly as last time. We are on the cusp of victory, but we need to keep the pressure on Valve. Keep holding them accountable for the bot issue. Put pressure on them to get rid of the bots for good. Don't let them off the hook and give them a slap on the wrist for only repelling the bots for a little bit, because believe me, as soon as Valve stops doing anything and slinks back into the shadows, the bots will return, and they will be far worse than anything we've seen thus far. It happened two years ago, it will happen again if we just declare victory now and go home. What Valve is doing is a great change of pace and they do deserve some praise for what they're doing, but we must make sure they stay committed to fixing the issue at hand. The best time for Valve to fix the issue was 5 years ago. The second best time is here and now. For now, hop on a few games and enjoy the (relatively) clean servers. We've earned a small break after our victory, but once you're done, make sure to grab your best bot-stomping boots, because our job is far from over.

This whole "LO is ending" thing makes me a little sussy baka-
There are currently four ways for fans of LO to find out about it ending.
1.) Articles online , of which there are only two, from Cosmopolitan and Popverse
2.) A user who got to ask Rachel questions at NYCC and posted their findings to the official Discord which has recently re-opened
3.) The Lore Olympians IG page (a fan page for LO)
4.) The antiLO/ULO communities
Notice a pattern?
None of these are official sources.
Rachel hasn't tweeted it or posted about it to Instagram. "But she's busy with NYCC" might make sense, but the official Webtoon pages haven't posted about it either.
And despite the fact that Rachel HAS posted about the series returning, it HASN'T included the reveal that it's returning for its final arc.
And this makes me suspicious.
Why?
Because this isn't how you market a final season.
City of Blank is currently on its final season. We know this definitively because it's been marketed as such since the premiere.
They knew from the start that this was going to be the last season, so they marketed it as such. Which makes sense, this is something you SHOULD do when marketing a final season, it lets people know that if you want to read a series, NOW is the best time to do it! If you're someone who fell off the series, now is the time to check back in and catch up on what you missed!
LO, meanwhile, hasn't had that marketing. This made a lot of us suspicious that S3 wasn't going to be the final season (which was a common belief for a while) because if it was the final season, why wasn't it being marketed as such? Why were so many new plot threads being established if this was meant to be the last season?
It's tinfoil hat time-
I'm feeling very certain that the signs of S3 not being the final season were true - but the decision was made to end the series with the third season regardless.
When you really think about it, it makes sense:
The popular opinion of LO has shifted to negative, with many people calling the comic out on how silly and poorly made it is.
Every time Webtoon Official announces new awards for the comic, the general opinion is, "Why?" and not just from the antiLO/ULO community, but even from other webcomic creators and users of the platform.
Its average numbers have been rapidly dropping with each episode and they'll surely continue on that downslide after it returns from the longest hiatus it's ever been on.
Its rating on the app has been slowly but steadily dropping, and its viewcount has hardly risen despite all the marketing it gets from Webtoons.
The fans haven't had access to any sort of space since the closure of the official FB page, Discord, and subreddit (the latter of which was already dying in activity by the time it closed).
The newest releases of the physical copies go on sale literally less than a week after release. There's still no news of the TV show and it's becoming painfully obvious that the production rights are simply sitting around waiting to either be sold to another studio or abandoned entirely. And the longer time goes on, the further LO ends up being in the rearview mirror of WT culture, the less interest there will be in adapting it.
It's already barely discussed outside of the platform, people who traditionally read comics have no idea what LO is despite WT's rabid attempts to inject it into every corner of comic culture.
It's safe to say that much of WT's audience is very over LO, and many are simply sticking with it to see how it sticks its landing. Now we know that landing is coming in 2024, but we didn't know that until now, and it was very silently announced. Not a single word on Rachel's or WT's social media. No big hoorah or hype marketing to get people excited for the finale. Chances are fans have found out about this reveal more from the anti's than their usual sources of information.
This really casts an implication that LO was going to go on longer than a third season - but Webtoons decided to put down its golden goose instead.
Now Rachel has (according to the answers at NYCC) until 'early to mid 2024' to clean up the mess she's made.
(my personal theory is it's going to end just in time for the first day of Spring/Rachel's birthday).
Even her answers about her future projects and how the series will end are incredibly vague. Most of the time she's describing exactly what she's guilty of doing without ever owning up to the fact that she's largely the root of most of her work's problems. It's very much "take your own advice for once."
(^^^ Notice how she doesn't actually talk about the show here, she redirects it entirely to the books. Exhibit #2385902 that the show isn't happening and they just don't want to take the L.)
There's also an accompanying tinfoil hat theory that the reason they're being so vague about it is because they haven't actually committed to an ending. Which would be very Rachel of them to do. Rachel is notorious for saying she's doing one thing and then doing the complete opposite. She's often written entire plotlines as vague as possible to make it easier for her to either bury them or retcon them down the road, so I wouldn't be surprised if she wound up retconning the comic's entire finale if it's just a matter of her trying to decide if she wants to continue the comic or not.
That said, I think the former is a bit more plausible, knowing at least somewhat as to how WT works with their contracts. It really feels like she either suddenly decided not to continue, or WT cut her off entirely by not giving her a series renewal for a 4th season. I've seen series get sudden finales in the past due to WT cutting them loose, and those were series that were, unlike LO, actually enjoyed by many and didn't have an entire critic community based around them. It would explain why not even Webtoons is announcing the ending of the comic.
But we'll see what happens after NYCC ends and LO returns November 4th. I don't think LO is going to be able to stick the landing that it's been crashing towards for two years now, but you bet your ass I'm gonna be here to watch.

Hello! I've seen a bit of wiccan (?) things for a while, if I were to start I wouldn't even know how to start though. (my autistic ass does not leave the house and my mom would probably think it's weird to make strange concoctions of things) I also don't really know how deities work and how do you find out which one your communicating with? Tbh I've always felt like someone is around but whatever god it is seriously fucking hates me /hj Been better since I started medication but like the luck I have is 50/50 good bad and that is probably not normal. If you answer this it'd be very helpful.
Hi! Thanks for the ask!
I just want to start by defining a few terms for you :)
Wicca/Wiccan: A pagan religion that focuses on nature, magic and witchcraft. It was founded in the mid 20th century and Wiccans primarily worship 2 Gods which are personifications of nature.
Witch: Just a person who practices witchcraft. It's a non-gendered term and a non-religious term/practice. Not all witches are Wiccan but all Wiccans are witches. Witches can be absolutely anyone
Personally, I'm not Wiccan so I can't really tell you much about that but if there is one thing I know, it's witchcraft! There are many different places to start but I'm going to condense it down as much as humanly possible. It'll probably feel like a bit of information overload so just try to take it slow and relax. Enjoy the learning.
My favourite book for beginner witchcraft is 'Witchery: Embrace the Witch Within' by Juliet Diaz. She is a fantastic author and wonderful human. Everything about the basics of witchcraft you could need is in that book (imo). You should be able to find a pdf online if you can't get a physical copy.
As for youtube channels with solid content:
Harmony Nice: She covers everything Wicca. She has a playlist with all her Wiccan/witchy content witch is linked here
The Witch of Wonderlust: Olivia has been a favourite witchy youtuber of mine for a while. I wouldn't recommend jumping into her videos without any prior knowledge but once you have a grasp on the bare bones it should be okay. Here is a playlist she made with everything you could possibly need when beginning witchcraft. SOrt through the videos and see what peeks your interest.
The Hearth Witch: Another wonderful account if I remember correctly. Her videos used to be on the longer end (30-60mins) so if you have a short attention span then maybe not but she has a wealth of information.
I also recommend joining a few discord servers, following a few pages on tumblr just to get acquainted with the community and terminology.
Okay, on to the deity work situation. Deity work is generally considered more intermediate in the witchcraft community. key words being 'Deity WORK'. Worship is completely fair game. Setting up an altar, praying, leaving offerings, doing activities in devotion to the deity is absolutely something you can do relatively quickly.
As for IDing a deity, most people do it through 'divination' which is things like tarot, a pendulum, dice, bone throwing, and other ways. Most people also ask for signs that a specific deity is 'reaching out' to them or wants them to pay attention. You can also politely ask someone who is volunteering their time on tumblr or a discord server to find out for you via divination. If they don't say their doing free readings, obviously, don't ask.
Finally. luck is luck. It makes no sense for a literal God to hate a human. We all have periods of shitty luck and awesome luck! I wouldn't blame that on anything. Sometimes bad things just happen unfortunately. But sometimes amazing things also happen, even if it's just as small is finding 5 cents on the footpath.
That was so long. Congrats if you made it to the end because I nearly didn't when writing this. I hope this helped a bit. Feel free to reach out if you need a hand with anything. Thanks :)

i uh. found this
Cool.
I skimmed through it. Seems like a lot of effort to go through to basically highlight "hey, this server full of teenagers that's been active for a good long while has, at some point, made mistakes that they've since apologised for". Nothing here is anything outright morally exempt, and quite frankly isn't worth making a whole document over.
The two "main issues" are things that could've been settled in DMs or by having a civil conversation.
I'd like to touch on this though,
Moderating isn't my job. It's a small, unofficial discord server that I barely contribute to and "needing to look into things before implementing punishment" is a good practice for larger and official servers, but not something I'm required to do. It's a small Discord server. Being banned isn't the end of the world. It's not that deep. And if I'm being honest, I'm not willing to get involved in whatever dispute happened.
As for the NSFW channel; that's an oversight on my part that I did eventually open my eyes to, and I apologise for the blunder on my part. Here's my explanation:
When I made the character appreciation channel I thought it'd be funny to make an "evil version" for the joking sort of less-than-wholesome expressions; I made the channel as an afterthought for the actual "gushing about my blorbo" channel and then promptly forgot about it. I hadn't intended for it to actually be a NSFW channel, and as far as I was aware it never actually became anything outright NSFW. Not that I checked it, that sort of content makes me uncomfortable. I have most of the channels in the server muted (in fact, I have most servers I'm a part of muted and set to mentions only, as this fits my personal preferences). It didn't occur to me that people were taking the channel seriously until much later, and by that point the people participating in it had expressed a desire to keep it - at which point I locked it behind a reaction role so that people who didn't have any interest in it didn't have to see anything (I had initially wanted to lock it behind an age role, but realised that people could just pick up multiple age roles, and it'd get confusing. So I made a new role people actively had to choose to access the channel). That was after I expressed a desire to take away the channel entirely, and was met with a resounding "please do not do that" from the people actively using it. So I became aware that people were using the channel to discuss not-so-PG topics. But the idea of having subjects of that matter on a server I owned just didn't sit right with me, and I discussed said discomfort with Perp a few times; it had gotten to the point that I dreaded opening the server in full, and lost a lot of weight due to anxiety-related health issues. Neither of us wanted the channel active on a server full of predominantly kids, but the kids themselves were arguing that it's better for them to have a safe environment to discuss these subjects in than the alternative, and that line of reasoning kept me in a state of limbo regarding the channel. I didn't want to take away what was, apparently, an outlet for the people involved, but I couldn't stand the idea of having that sort of content on the platform. Until, as you in see in the doc, I made a choice to get rid of it entirely. And that decision did come with some backlash, though that's not really relevant to the topic at hand.
It's not very interesting, but that's the general gist of it. I had no idea NSFW art was being posted there. It was a bad idea to add the channel in the first place, and it not being intended to be taken seriously doesn't mitigate the fact that it existed. And now it doesn't.
Other than that? This whole situation seems more like something that could be settled between the people involved, and really doesn't have a lot to do with the server at large. I don't want to get involved in whatever the dispute is and, quite frankly, see no reason to.
Again, I want to point out; moderating a discord server isn't my job. I don't even really know how to act as a moderator - the vast majority of Discord's features are a mystery to me. I'm barely active on the server as is, and I'm not going to spend hours of my time combing through the logs to verify something that could have easily been solved through DMs. Banning people isn't me condemning them, and it's barely the end of the world for someone to be banned from an unofficial fandom Discord server. I hold no ill will towards whoever I banned, it wasn't anything personal - like I explained in the server.
#not td related#I apologise for the restricted channel.#But I'm not apologising for not moderating a situation I had no input in. Especially when I wasn't even online for it.#People argue on the internet all the time. Talk it out. Open a group DM. Save google docs for actually problematic situations.

/770226570377986048 I don't have the entire perspective (am not on the official discord) but from my year of lurking and/or participation I've found that it's a pretty good community. here are some more concrete pointers: The good: - From my limited interactions with them, the staff have been nothing but kind and patient. Any issues I've had have been resolved quickly and with no unnecessary snark/snide comments. - The owners are super active and traits, items and lore are released and updated on a regular basis. - Little/no bullshit traits - aside from a limited few (some of the eye/marking traits imho) Celestial Seas generally manages to avoid the common cs issue of things getting traited for no good reason. If it's a trait, it's a concrete, clear idea that can be utilized in a variety of designs. - The grind is not that bad. Don't get me wrong, there is still grind - especially for an MYO - but it's quite reasonable, imo. It takes me about three weeks of active effort to save up enough sg to buy one, and maybe three months of just logging in for the weekly bonus to save up for one without doing anything lol. (I may be in the minority here, but I prefer having a longer time to really think my designs through before submitting them) - Adding onto the above, First Time Owners (users who've never owned a character in the arpg) get extra bonuses! This includes access to extra raffles, better rewards for prompts, and you can get your first myo for half the price - ngl it's really nice. The bad: - Approval times are looong. I've had submissions sit for over a week waiting to be processed - but it seems to be improving, actually since they recently brought on 3 trial mods and it seems to have cut down the wait somewhat. That is for prompt submissions, mind you - Design queue is still very long and afaik it's still just the two owners working on it lmao - The site is quite messy. Not in the obvious way - it doesn't flashbang you when you open it and has no eyestrain-inducing elements (thank god!) but wayyy to many things on the site are worded in a strange and obtuse manner. I have to re-read some item/trait descriptions thrice before I get what it's trying to say. - Feature bloat and half-finished things getting released is quite a problem. out of the 5 browbird subtypes listed on the website, only 2 are complete... This is the same with other species and companions (apparel rules have been 'going to be overhauled!' for months now), not to mention instead of working on what is already in the game, a new species/subtype (the living weapon) was released instead :/ - Deadlines getting missed and/or just barely done in time is quite an issue. Maybe half of the October design auctions were late with 0 info on site as to why it happened, and the winter update/event post was posted on the 13th of December, with the secret santa sign-ups closing on the 14th. Again, as stated in the beginning, this delay might've been talked about/announced beforehand in discord, but MAN it feels icky to be told that discord is 100% optional only to miss out on critical info and announcements because I'm not on there. Overall? It's a really good experience, but don't expect it to be without any issues.

𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫: hello, my name is alexandra && i've been writing on tumblr since 2012. i'm AuDHD, meaning i get distracted easily and struggle to hold conversations consistently outside writing. if for some reason i forget to reply to you, please don't take it personally, i promise it's nothing against you, i just suck at keeping my attention span. if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me. my discord is private and per-request only if we're close. as a head's up, i post a lot of ooc ( that i frequently delete later on ) so if that's something you dislike, you can filter out my ooc tag. i am white and will do my best to portray my non-white muses with decorum.
𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐚: just don't do it. don't involve me in needless bullshit, and don't give me an ultimatum. if you see me interacting with someone who's a danger to the rpc, inform me immediately. i am not all-seeing, i am barely around, so i an unfamiliar with all the truly horrible people. do not vague me. i can't read minds. if you have a problem, say something to me privately, ‘cause i can guarantee i will grant the same courtesy. if we can hash it out and fix the problem, i'm happy to listen it. i never want to be the reason someone's upset. i’m too old and too tired to play games. i know all of this makes me sound like a cunt, but if i don't set clear boundaries, they get stepped on.
𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 && 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐬: i literally do not care what you do or how you do it. it's your blog, go crazy. i'm not here to police how you run your blog, just don't be a fucking weirdo is all i ask. as for my blog, i tend to have little to no graphics whatsoever out of pure laziness. for threads, i prefer shorter paragraphis ( 3-4 give or take ) but am more than capable of writing novella. just know that longer threads will have a longer wait time with me. since my life is as hectic as it is, it's easier for me to write short stuff, but as i said, i rly don't mind longer stuff and happily indulge in it. when it comes to replies, please give me at least one week before reminding me of a reply. if you consistently pester me, i'll probably softblock you.
𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 && 𝐝𝐧𝐢: i very rarely softblock, && very rarely hardblock. if i do, it's 90% probably nothing personal. sometimes i just like to keep a clean feed or i feel we just have no chance of interacting. for dni, i have nobody in particular in the rpc that i have beef with. people i dislike? sure. but it's so minimal it doesn't require a dni list, lol. it's mostly a case of; ‘you’re kinda annoying' or ‘you rub me the wrong way’. however, do not interact with me if you're homophobic, transphobic, a zionist, racist, p*do, sexualize characters that are minors, write fetish porn of real life trauma events ( ex: r*p* ) use AI generated artwork, or steal from other creators. fuck off with that bullshit. black lives matter, stop asian hate, free palestine bitches.
𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠: i rarely follow first due to a mixture of low activity && just generally being shy. but if i do follow, it means i intend to write with you and can see our characters interacting. it's difficult for me to reach out and make the first move, but i will try nevertheless. a lot of people struggle to do it, so i get it. if we haven't had our first interaction in a month or there seems to be lack of interest, i will softblock. no hard feelings! i don't do follow for follow, and if you constantly unfollow and refollow me to get my attention, i'll just hardblock you.
𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐮𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬: do not mind ‘em in the slightest. in fact, i encourage duplicates and would even love writing with them / comparing headcanons & ideas! but if you aren’t duplicate friendly, i do understand. there is no pressure from me to follow me, and you're more than free to sb me if i've followed but i write a duplicate of your character and you aren't comfortable with that. remember to always curate your space!
𝐨𝐧 𝐧𝐬𝐟 & 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐬: there will be nsfw content here, and not just of the sexual kind. i will not write anything deemed ‘taboo’ ( ex: inc*st, r*p*, etc. ) so don't even try to ask. some things i do enjoy and will be writing things like gore, cosmic horror, suspense, eldritch horror, violence, biblically accurate angels, and pretty much anything that goes bump in the night. this doesn't mean i won't write lighter topics, in fact, one of my favourite genre is modern slice of life aus!
𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬: i'm open to the idea of it, but it must be discussed privately ahead of time. i do not autoship any of my muses. i prefer to build my relationships slowly over time with nuance. if you followed me for the sole purpose of shipping, you'll be sorely disappointed. for everything else that isn't romantic, i am absolutely open to all types of dynamics. familial, friendship, enemies, etc! i love exploring all different kinds of dynamics, so count me in.
if i think of anything else, i'll add it here. otherwise, here are some of my socials to reach me outside of tumblr:

The Nebula Stars Discord Server Plans 2025
This is a copy paste from my public Patreon Post
The lingering thought throughout this year is starting up my own server based around The Nebula Stars (again, as this is not the first time I've done this), I want to do a better job managing, setting and following through order (not letting scummy actions slide, and not allow myself to empathize on wrong actions), planning, and keeping the topic in topic of the theme of the server in which my old one has failed to do 2018-2020. I am still skeptical of the idea due to my deteriorating energy and am not as on top of things as I once was, especially since I keep most of my energy on my project(s). However I do plan to keep the server to Patreon members, both none and paying with a few small exceptions of people that are very engaged in my project that I, myself, find acceptable to join. I do not plan to make this a public server, things are made too complicated and can easily steer from what this server is for (especially if those are not actually interested in The Nebula Star in general, which was what happened with my old server).
The first Volume almost has Chapter completed, just a few more chapters and Volume 1 of The Nebula Stars will be completed. I'll need to set up some things afterwards, publicly showing the chapters as I work in Volume 2. I don't think I'll open a server immediately, as my community is very very small currently, which will be a struggle to keep active for one, but is easy to manage at the same time. I want to see what sort of engagement there is and debate it's a good idea. Secondly, I've been recovering from some personal trauma which affects my trust in others greatly, and has indeed affected my actions and thought process I'm unsure if I will recover from. However, I've been slowly making progress, even if it still is a struggle from time to time, I recognize I am improving, and due to these traumas, it has worsened my memories, so remembering things for me has been a greater challenge I've picked up on, which may make managing a lot more difficult on myself. I worry also if I will stress too much with owning a server again, and it's something I need to avoid as it affects my health.
But again, this is a mayhaps idea if I will do this or not, in the end, it's all about testing the water for a bit before jumping right in.
As a broken record: Thank you everyone for supporting me all of this year, I never expected or thought I would have any Patreon members, especially this early in development on a project I've been working on for over a decade, I struggle to realize how much my content affects everyone, including those outside of Patreon. And it really does mean a lot that I manage to touch people with my work, even if they barely know the story. I hope things progress from here, especially during these scary times. I love you all, very dearly, as I'm always moved being reminded how much people actually care about my silly little thing, especially how much of a battle it has been all throughout this year for me. Again, thank you.

hii, ik this isnt ctyi culture, but im going to the cat session 2 this year and its gonna be my only time attending ctyi, have you anything i suggest doing in my 12 days ??? ty for reading 🤍
I'm not sure if you're residential or commuter, but first of all i highly recommend staying for as much activities and things as possible!
(Also I don't know exactly the differences between ctyi and cat stuff as well as session 1 and session 2 stuff so I'll be going somewhat generic!)
Don't be shy around people, the people here are the kindest weirdest folks ever, like if you've got no one to hang around with people you barely know (like from your class or a single activity) are usually fine with you like coming over and chatting :]. And people don't judge you for being weird so yippee
I recommend joining in on all the daily traditions, some people go really extravagant but most people just do a little bit (tinfoil hat tuesday/rainbow (gay) tuesday, pink wednesday/pirate wednesday, dressing gown thursday/goth thursday, formal friday). They're a lot of fun in my experience :D
Try to play werewolf at least once, it's VERY fun (it's similar to among us in a way)
try to ensure that your class has a groupchat, since they tend to be really fun and can help you make sure about anything if you have any questions
i HIGHLY recommend checking out the wiki if you haven't done so already! And putting down quotes for your classmates is always good craic (and the front page has a link to the discord server if you want to join it, CATs are welcome there!)
UHHHHH these are the main things i can think of, i hope you enjoy your stay!!
if you have any more specific questions PLEASE ASK :3

#𝐅𝐋𝐀𝐌𝐔𝐑𝐀𝐈 independent portrayal of 𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐎𝐊𝐔 𝐊𝐘𝐎𝐉𝐔𝐑𝐎 from the demon slayer: kny series with sporadic activity ( slow reply ) in pst. written by vera and established 7/17/2024 ! minors and personals do not interact. not spoiler free and headcanon based. please read my rules before following. duplicate friendly.
𝐏𝐘𝐑𝐄: 𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙨 ˖˖˖ 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙨 ˖˖˖ 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙩𝙨 ˖˖˖ 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙘𝙖𝙣𝙤𝙣𝙨
𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐁𝐋𝐎𝐆𝐒: cadavors / malient
IMPORTANT. writer is 29. i tend to follow canon depictions of this character, with a sprinkle of my own creativity. i'm very oc and crossover friendly but lean more toward following manga/anime style blogs. please don't interact if you are a minor, as there will be ns.fw content and shipping topics.
WRITING/DISCORD. i enjoy decorating and formatting my posts, not excessively but there's personality choices in my writing style. there will always be icons used, among other things regardless if you choose differently. i may not be inclined to follow if you use big gifs/pictures.
writing on disco will be iffy for me but if you find discomfort writing certain topics on the dash, let me know and we can exchange handles if we haven't already.
also, i don't write with minor characters that aren't in the demon slayer kny universe.
FOLLOWING. i don’t follow everyone, it’s overwhelming. my blog is mutual exclusive and strict on who i allow onto my dashboard due to mental health reasons. PLEASE HARD BLOCK IF YOU AREN'T INTERESTED IN WRITING. ( i promise it's nothing personal, if we don't mesh from your POV, then protect your peace. ) i'll always read your rules before following, and also a second time once we've started interacting. consider this a safe space, i'll never disregard you or your character's boundaries.
if you're a multi with ocs or even have characters with a kny verse, please have a backstory for them with details regarding their situation in said world ( or have a doc of sorts that i can read ). if we're going to plot anything, i need specifics and will feel less inclined to write if not. i can't write your character. as for choosing a character, i ask that you lean on your own judgment. i'm not going to ask for someone who is low energy for you to write, this comes from a caring place. i want to write with passionate people.
PHOBIAS/THEMES. i don't have triggers except: transphobia, racism, pedophilia, and hate speech in general isn't okay. otherwise, i'll write any other subject, i'm just desensitized having been roleplaying for 10 years. i'll use the appropriate tags for things, but please understand i'm just a human being with adhd that can barely remember to function properly.
MAINS & EXCLUSIVES. i’m far more compliant with mains than exclusives, since i have trust issues and require a lot of feedback if we decide upon the former. it’s just a serious matter for me and i don't want to humor exclusivity if you're a low activity partner. just don’t encourage me to become exclusive if you’re just gonna have our ship collect dust, i will immediately drop it without warning.
SHIPPING. i portray this man as pansexual and panromantic so let’s ship, i love it. we can plot out the dynamic, figure out what works and how they tick. i have no shame in wanting to write toxic, platonic, lust driven, enemies, and anything under the sun. i'm here to have an interesting time, nothing offends me and i can't be bothered to act shy. i ship everyone in this series WITHIN THE AGE OF CONSENT. again, keep your children away.
pre-established won’t be an issue, though i’d prefer an ooc discussion beforehand. just to get the quirks out of the way. below will be my affiliated relationships for this character.
N.SFW THEMES. now on the topic of smut/ns.fw, i know there's a stigma against it but honestly i love a healthy balance in writing it. i just go with the flow if that's what the situation leads to. ( flirt with him, give sexual tension, be disgusted for all i care ) just keep in mind that i use poetic/soft core writing when it comes to it, i just don't want to be crude and icky with my descriptions. all of which will be under a read more and may be subject to deletion later on.
i have unresolved trauma when it comes to female lower anatomy and will not write smut involving it. ( i can talk about nsf/w topics but depicting it is a no go ) this doesn't effect shipping or romance - only sexually explicit content being written between characters. anything leading to it will be explored but gradually fade to black.

The more I use this site the more lonely I feel
I have dozens of friends and partners, yet I still check here every morning, but why?
It used to be to give validation as a very complex queer person, and I found that in art, people drawing characters with my body, saying they're valid as they are.
There's so much doom and gloom that I can't do anything about. I can barely walk most daysThe artists that post queer art of seldom seen or represented body types just aren't around. I follow some hundred or more artists that are just not here. And the ones that are never want to talk, no one really wants to talk, but I don't want to be in an insular bubble.
I guess I don't or never did get Tumblr culture or social media in general. I used to find really good conversation on 4Chan about really obscure but deep things but that was 8+ years ago now. I don't really want to spend my time on just insulated cliquey discord servers, but it seems that's all I'm good at. Even the partners I met on 4chan don't go there anymore and I don't either for that matter. So I really do feel lost at sea.
Facebook is addictive and fun but the only time there's leftists to shitpost with and have fun is when there's an election cycle and then they go back into a depression hibernation till the next major election. I don't physically have it in me for activism anymore. I used to spend hours every day fighting misinformation and tearing up bad opinions, trying to stop leftists from playing into the hands of literal Nazis, but no, they wanted to be self righteous and feel good all while not helping anyone but their own ego. Now we have all this. All these things I'd desperately spent half a life time warning about. I know what I did was a drop in the bucket but I'd hoped I'd inspired people to take action too, I'd hoped I was one of millions of other people with similar sentiments. I wanted to connect with people to make a better future, but it really feels the worst future we'd feared came and exactly the way we'd feared.
Now I'm just, here, seeing all those broken pieces, people isolated, I feel lonely in a way I can't describe. Even if someone writes about something really interesting they don't really want to engage with anyone who wants to talk more about that point. Or have long since left this site.
I guess I still don't know how it works, and I don't really care at this point.
I'm hoping that I come back and stumble on this post in 3-4 years and remember how rough things were and how far I've come.
I wanted to participate more and make things better but I can barely walk and there's housework that I'm neglecting. I have to stop trying to save the world before I can even help my self. Doing that is what got me here. I need to cherish the people I have. The 11 partners I feel I don't give enough attention. The house I'm not taking care of the laundry and dishes I haven't done.

|| Hey, guys!!
I just want to say thank you to everyone who has been so patient with me!! If you're waiting on me for anything, whether that be threads/asks, messages, or plotting in general, thank you SO much for all of the patience you've given me!!
Since I didn't get into grad school this time, this is my last semester of college for a little while. I only have three weeks left of this semester. This week is really busy for me because I have to put together a whole presentation essentially, so that's why I'm barely here. Next week is a project that should be fairly easy, so I'm hoping to be back online at least a couple of days next week. And the week after that is the exam, so I probably won't be here at all during that time XDD But after all of that is done, I will be FREE and will finally resume activity!!
I think I'm just not going to bother working on drafts until then, so my queue will be empty. I may post a few asks/replies if the muse strikes me (likely small things or anything that has to do with Faenethra, Vee, or Kira since they have the braincell XDD) but I won't be on discord much, if at all. Activity will resume and I actually mean it this time. Until then, please stay patient with me!!
#(I PROMISE I'M NOT IGNORING ANYONE!!)#(i'm just trying to finish everything ASAP so i can finally be free~)#(and yeahhhh there isn't any time for writing lately XDD)#(besides. i think i may need a tiny break from writing anyway to get my muse back even stronger~)#◢||⋇ psa ⋇||◣#◢||⋇ why do you write like you’re running out of time? [ooc] ⋇||◣

Is there a reason Naddpod discord rules aren't, essentially, "if they'd say it in canon, you can say it here?" It seems like the standards of appropriateness are much higher for discussion of the podcast than the podcast has for itself. /gen
Hi!
First of all, generally speaking, this is my personal blog, not a forum for discussion of Naddcord moderational policy; there are five of us in charge, not just me, and on average I'd rather keep quote unquote official discussion of policies etc to Discord and/or the server itself, partially because then I have to repeat myself less and partially because I am not generally in mod mode on tumblr dot com and it can be kind of exhausting to try to be. That said!
This is a super understandable question, and we've had a lot of discussion about it over the years -- the rule even used to be "the dragon pussy clause", which was essentially what you're describing. However, as the server got bigger (I've been an admin since well before we hit 1000 members, and we're now at about 7300), we've tried to take steps to be accommodating and safe for a wide variety of age ranges. Generally speaking, I don't think we are super strict; if something's appropriately marked NSFW, there's rarely any objection, and I'm not sure what happened to prompt this question, because I don't remember seeing any pushback to overly sexual discussion recently. However, what it comes down to, is that if a 13-year old wants to listen to a podcast where they make sexual jokes, that seems pretty far for the being-13 course to me, and also not really my business. On the other hand, a 13-year old entering into a conversation about sexual topics with a 35-year old they barely know who happens to also be in the server is a pretty different thing, and something that none of us are comfortable trying to moderate, even if there are probably plenty of cases where it's not actively harmful.
To prevent this, without having to try to retroactively make the server 18+ or moderate split age channels, or memorize everyone's ages and only step in depending on that, we've decided to just request that people avoid excessively sexual discussion, and tag things as nsfw when necessary. Obviously what is "excessively" sexual is totally subjective, and we've got both anonymous and non-anonymous venues through which people can express concerns if they feel like we're going too far or acting in ways that are harmful, but that's sort of the best we can do.
Hope this was helpful!
