cool. when i accidentally see a ship i don't like, i think "wow. i truthfully can't believe a real human person i share a species with would actually enjoy thinking about this for more than half a second, endure the time it would've taken to make it, and still not feel any shame or embarrassment in posting it for all to see. i want to hit this person with my car and then in reverse again with my neighbor's." and then the entire rest of my day i'm a little bit pissed off about nothing in particular. it was the ship, it was hours ago but i'm still mad about the ship. honestly, truthfully day ruining when already i'm in a bad mood and i'm not joking.

This is such a thought-provoking question! I spent a big chunk of yesterday and today brainstorming about this 😇✨

My idea is that Perry likes salt as a spice and is wayyyy less sensitive to it being in his food/drink. That is to say, he will not notice it as quickly. His body will simply go "Oh we're drinking salt water? This must be a precursor to actually being in salt water, let's make sure we can breathe" and make his gills appear.

If he were to notice it in time, spitting it out/back in the glass he could be lucky and stave off the transformation. Or have it be very early in the morning and it doesn’t work bc he’s still in sleepy mode shhh that works too

In case of him being on a mission for example, he could very well be served a too-salty cocktail by a bartender in cahoots with the villain. Whatever could be their plan...

As funny as the mental image of the shlorpshlorpshlorping is, I have to go with the sipping. Mostly for practical reasons, the way dogs drink is kind of messy and inprecise, they basically use the back of their tongue as a ladle.

I think they would have to have their own specialized drinkware too, something more shallow and wide rimmed I'd guess (wouldn't you just land back to the bowl territory then?). Imagine being a brachycephalic (short faced) dog like a french bulldog and trying to reach the last drop of champagne from the bottom of the long and narrow flute with your nonexistant snout, without losing your sense of dignity entirely.

For 😷Yuma what usually helps when I've gotten a sore throat is some warm honey lemon water (I put in more Honey than lemon juice cause I don't like the lemon juice^^;) but still it's very nice! So I shall give him some of that!

He finds the taste to be rather peculiar as he's never had a combination of flavors like this before...

But regardless, he could feel his sore throat slowly become slightly soothed from the warm mixed beverage. It felt good going down.

how am i supposed to just not be angry tho? i try to move on to something i actually do like, but then i just can't enjoy that either because i'm still angry, which just makes me even more upset because they've taken away my enjoyment of something else completely unrelated too now, and then i just start spiraling. when i'm upset, there is absolutely nothing in the world that will make me not be upset until my brain decides it's done, and not a second before. i ruminate on things that anger me all day long. when i'm at work, when i'm off, when i'm trying to enjoy myself anyway, when i'm trying to function. the ONLY way i've figured out how to not let it affect other people is to put a cork on it until i can explode somewhere by myself, and just hope and pray that the rest of my day until i get to that point doesn't keep shaking the bottle. i might've moved on with my work day because i have no other choice, but the anger is never gone, i've just put it in a container i'm hoping it doesn't get too big for. anger is a joy killer. how do people just. decide not to be angry? i don't believe you.

It's not about deciding not to be angry, anon. It's just that these things don't trigger my anger response like it does yours.

But it genuinely is not healthy to have reactions like that to fictional media. If there's any way you can talk to a therapist about this, that would be my first recommendation. Or even just another trusted adult or peer you could vent to about these things. Just to get it off your chest. Hell, maybe even getting your anger out in a journal. Anything to get the feelings out of you and into the open, even if it's still just for your eyes only.

Because feeling like you want to run someone over with a car because you didn't like their taste in fictional ships? That is genuinely not healthy, anon

My other top suggestion would be to block, block, block! Tags, definitely. If you use tumblr primarily on desktop, I recommend xkit. But if you're mostly on mobile, or use them 50/50, just use tumblr's built in tag filtering system. Add as many to the list as you need, starting with every single notp that pisses you off. And don't be afraid to block tumblrs that post a lot of content about them. It's not an insult, and you're not hurting anyone's feelings for trying to protect yourself. Do what you need to do to avoid seeing these upsetting things in the first place.

And I'm not trying to be funny, but oh my god, anon. Do you know how fucked up the world is right now? Are you saying that you can scroll through endless posts about genocide, deportations, murders, etc and be fine but seeing a post of a ship you hate is what's ruining your day?

Please try to think about things in perspective here. If seeing a ship you hate is the worst thing that happens to you all day, you have a pretty good life going.

And if all else fails, close the laptop, put down the phone, and do literally anything else. Read a book, watch a movie, rewatch your comfort show for the 185th time, go for a walk, do a craft, play a board game, go window shopping, play with your pets, listen to your favorite album, literally ANYTHING but let yourself ruminate over something as insignificant as a fictional ship.

You'll feel much better for it, trust me

With a new interest comes a new AU, I present my mermaids and pirates AU!! It’s not a very original idea but idc bc it’s fun to draw for and work on

Amy is based off a shark, Sonic is based (very loosely) on an eel, and Knuckles is gonna be a siren, gotta still make his design

The basic idea is that half the original cast is water creatures, so like, Amy, Sonic, Knuckles Sonia and Manic (those who snow) and a few others I’m still fleshing out and don’t have designs for yet.

And Metal is also a mermaid!! I enjoy mech designs but I do not know to draw them 😭

The pirates areeeee, Shadow, Rouge, Omega, Vector, Charmy, Espio and others I still gotta think abt….(there’s also smth strange abt a few of these so called pirates….secrets untold 🤷)
