okay so that one panel of ryuk watching wrestling seems to imply he thinks everything on tv is real. this has some very funny implications 2 me. he watches gritty crime dramas and tells light he's not doing a good job cause humans are showing livestreams of killers at work everyday, and he doesn't even watch.

light tries to tell him they're fake. he pivots to reality tv, because, hey! it's got reality in the name, and gets absolutely obssessed because its basically light and l's pettiness but to the power of 10. whenever light and l are stuck doing homoerotic staring contests for too long he floats off to watch reality tv and regales light with it later - finds the suuuuper ridiculous american stuff and that's the end for light's peace and quiet.
