I never denied I was an asshole in this but like hell I'm going to let you twist and spin your own narrative. And you certainly cut off an argument between two other individuals.

Incorrect! I can give you some reasons why I dislike her in shippuden.

Says shes going to save her teammates finally, but when the time comes just hides in the forest and does nothing.

Sai is the one that stops Sasuke from harming Naruto, not Sakura, for some reason. Isn't Sakura the one thats whole goal is to finally be useful? What happened to that?

She could've stopped EVERYTHING, but no! She hesitated and made the war SO MUCH WORSE. She couldn't even do this simple task!

She's stupid af for running at 4 tailed Naruto. Like what was she thinking? What would she even be able to DO.

Ran at madara with absolutely no plan, which was a stupid idea. She did this so she could impress "her precious sasuke-kun!"

Last but not least, We are only told that Sakura surpassed the tsunade, not shown it. For example, as shown in the manga and anime during the 4th Shinobi war, Sakura couldn't heal shikamaru, but Tsunade did it with one tap. If Sakura surpassed tsunade, wouldn't she heal Shikamaru faster than a tap?

Also in this frame above, she's dissing her TEACHER who made her go from a complete ZERO to above average in strength. Like Tsunade was doing CHARITY WORK by helping SAKURA, and she dares to put her teacher down???

Well, for one, Sakura was born naturally gifted with chakra control while Lee was born with no talent at all.

And two, Sakura has A LOT more screen time compared to Lee but does less in that screen time compared to him. Like, 4/5 times, Sakura is going to be useless when we see her, but for the small instances, we see Lee. He's actually being helpful.

Wrong again. All he did was treat her like shit? Are we watching or reading the same show/manga? Because he has been nothing but kind to her, and she didn't even deserve it. She's done nothing but hit on him for no real reason and tried to bring him back for her selfish reasons. Those "handful of soft moments" you claim that he gave to her weren't even deserved, considering she never cared for him as a person but about his looks.

Yes, he left for over 9 years, but why's that a mistreatment of Sakura on his part? Considering she was dying to get with him in the first place.

Why don't you mention how shitty of a mother Sakura is? She uses physical intimidation to make sarada stop asking questions, which is a form of abuse! And those questions weren't even offensive. Her relationship with sasuke IS weird, and she should've answered her daughters questions accordingly.

She even chased after Sasuke for this life so no! She's NOT a victim this is EXACTLY what she wanted!

With the second day at Pandora over, the soldiers documented their experiences of what they saw and felt while driving an avatar for the first time. It wasn't anything as detailed as a scientist would describe with the technical names of the neural connection between bodies or something. It was simple. They described it as an experience that couldn't be expressed with enough words or an experience that would blow anyone's mind. They called it a day and proceeded to fall into the arms of Morpheus.

The next day, the routine began like the previous one, they got up, took a bath and went to the cafeteria to eat.

But they never expected that after eating they would be directly called by a pilot to follow them to an area that they are already more familiar with from their years in the army, proclaiming that the colonel wanted to see them.

The woman introduced herself to them as Trudy, detailing that by orders of who they were going to see, she would be the designated pilot for the expeditions that involved them.

"You guys are packing some heavy gear." Jake commented as he saw the ammunition that was being loaded into the Samsun that she indicated as hers.

On the other hand, Eli was looking around, almost feeling nostalgic. Comfortable in his environment, but that did not bring him the best feelings. The last time he was in a place like this was when he presented his resignation letter caused by the disaster on his last mission. The same mission that almost took his life.

He felt a shiver run down his spine as he remembered it.

"Yeah. That's 'cause we're not the only thing around out there. Or the biggest." Trudy replied, with a small tone of amusement at the end. "I need you as gunners. Protocol generally asks me to take 2 soldiers for 1 scientist, but we are short staffed. You would be a lot of help tomorrow."

Eli turned to look at the woman with surprise, but a hint of relief. He wasn't cut out for science and he had to confess that he missed the adrenaline. So much time without being a Marine is already starting to take its toll on him. "Do they really have weapons but enough for avatars?" Eli asked.

Trudy gave him a toothy smile. She almost felt like she was seeing a child after being told that there are going to be gifts for Christmas. "You'd be surprised what toys the RDA can make. Fill out an application saying it's to improve mission performance and they'll give you whatever you want."

Jake nodded in satisfaction. Even if his avatar body was not his own, the idea of entering a hostile forest unarmed only to experience his death firsthand was not the best of ideas. "Well then, you can count on us." Jake said, responding to the request made a few seconds ago. Eli nodded.

"Perfect. I'll see you tomorrow then." She ended the conversation by stopping in front of a slightly more private section among all the mess caused by the army. She pointed to a man exercising in the corner. "There's your man. See you on the flight line." As a last act, she bumped fists with them to say goodbye.

Both soldiers approached the boss, stopping at the metal frame of the security-like cage created for those who wish to exercise and remain out of danger from the rest of the machinery in the place. "You wanted to see us, Colonel?"

"This low gravity'll make you soft…" the colonel began to speak while still doing the bench presses. His voice came out slightly with difficulty due to the effort of speaking and lifting weight. "You get soften…" to give more drama to the moment, Quaritch roughly put the weights in its place, sat up and looked them in the eyes very seriously. "Pandora will shit you out dead with zero warning."

Eli mentally snorted. He had already heard a lot about how dangerous the planet is, but no one had told him how good it could be and he is beginning to believe that someone ordered them to specifically tell them that just to scare them. To mess with the rookies or something like that.

The Colonel stood up and walked until he was in front of them. "You have a lot of courage showing up in this neighborhood." Both soldiers remained silent. The man's tone showed that he was not finished. "You are the best proof that a soldier cannot be defeated… Both wounded in combat and look where you are." Quaritch walked past them and held out his hands for emphasis to show where they were. On the most hostile planet known to man.

"It's just another hell, sir." Jake answered as he turned the chair around.

Quaritch smiled at the attitude. That fearless look is just what he needed to see to continue with his plan. With a nod he indicated for them to follow him. "I was first recom myself. A few years ahead of you. Well, maybe more than a few. Three tours Nigeria, not a scratch. I come out here?…" he turned around walking backwards to point at his scar on the side of his head. "Day one. Think i felt like a shavetail louie? Yeah."

Eli nodded his head, turning to see some soldiers pulling a weapon big enough for the robot suits like the one they were walking to at that moment. A weapon the same size as his body and he bets 3 times heavier.

"Oh, the could fix me up, if I rotated back. And make me pretty again." He paused to climb onto one of the robot's legs and gave it a few strong tugs to test its resistance. Satisfied with the result, he turned back to the couple of friends. "But you know what? I kind of like it. Reminds me every day what's waiting out there."

Before he began climbing the robotic suit, he signaled for the soldiers to ride the elevator next to the suit and stay out of the way.

"The avatar program is a bad joke. Bunch of limp-dick science majors. However..." his voice came out with difficulty as he climbed up the suit until finally falling inside. "It does present an opportunity both timely and unique."

Eli crossed his arms and leaned on one leg to pay attention. The platform he had stood on with Jake finally stopped at the Colonel's level.

"CLEAR." The man shouted as he grabbed the controls of the machine. Someone behind the ex-Marines yelled for them to clear the area. The Colonel pressed the buttons on the panel, satisfied when the engine came to life. "Recon gyrenes in avatar bodies. That's a potent mix. Give me the goose bumps." He said with the slightest laugh in his words. He seemed to find the situation amusing. "Men like that would give me the intel I need, right on the ground. Right on the hostiles' camp" After calibrating the controls to his liking, he turned to the soldiers in a slightly more serious tone. "Listen. I want you to learn these savages from the inside. I want you to gain their trust. I need to know how to force their cooperation or hammer them hard if they won't."

The Colonel's tone did not give room to refute anything, it was directly an order without mentioning that it is an order. Something that neither of them liked. But they are soldiers, they are used to it.

Jake followed up with an important question. "Are we still with Augustin?"

"On paper. Yeah, you walk like one of her science pukes, you quack like one, but you report to me. Can you do that for me lads?"

The newcomers turned to look at each other. One look was enough to know that they both agreed.

"Yes, sir," they both answered instinctively. This loyalty brought a satisfied smile to the superior's face.

"Well, all right, then." With a wave of his glove, the Colonel turned on the robot. He brought his hands to his chest and threw some well-calculated punches, making the suit perfectly imitate his movements.

Jake and Eli backed up a little in the elevator to avoid being hit by accident.

Pleased with the adjustments to his suit, he turned it around to face the former Marines, placing his hands on his waist. Not even his suit seemed to prevent the Colonel from moving with confidence.

"I take care of my own. You get me what I need and you will get what your nation denied you."

The words the Colonel had used had been intentional. He read both of their files in order to not only understand who they are, but to understand how they think. He wants them to know that they are no longer on earth and that under his control he promised to give them more importance.

And they both completely believed it.

"To you Jake." The Colonel began. "I can give you your legs. Your real legs." Mentioning the limbs, the man aimed at Jake's human legs, using the robot. He then turned to Eli. "And to you, corporal. I will make sure that your nation gives you the recognition and apology you deserve. What do you think?"

Both soldiers nodded at the same time and responded. "Yes sir."

"Good." Ending the conversation, he closed the lid of the cabin with his metallic hand, turned around and turned to continue on his way, leaving the two with a lot to think about but only one conclusion.

They have a new mission.

•In this AU(just like the og one I created), Lillian comes from a parallel world where her mother was a queen named Alista, Entity of Harmony and Peace. In this timeline, the Kraang attacked her world, and during this time Lillian was only a toddler. So while Queen Alista fought off the Kraang, her father Flama sent her through a portal to another world before getting blasted by a laser beam. Throughout this time, Lillian experienced cruelty from the humans of the new universe she arrived in but was saved by Zayna's father and her, taking her in before he died of lung cancer a couple of years later, leaving Lillian under Zayna's care till now.

•But unlike in my AU where Lillian and her team knew all the Hamato brothers altogether, Hellburn Riot instead has ties with One and Two, along with Draxum of course. And as for Lillian's relationship with Two.....let's just say they are f*cking deranged. With Lillian being a yandere and Two seeing her as a way to prove himself to Draxum- since not only was Lillian INCREDIBLY powerful but she was also (secret) royalty- the two of them developed a twisted kind of love but still respects one another.

Bit of a vent, and also opportunity for you to help people if you can/want

(TL;DR: Check out my reblogging blog if you'd like to help someone financially but don't want to look too hard! In addition, supporting the people I've shared on there is a direct way to help the people of Gaza!!) Hey, you there, wanna donate to someone and help save their life? Yep, that's right, I'm bringing out a sales pitch. It's worth reading through though, I promise. I'll even try to keep it short for you.

(VENT SECTION) First of all, I'd like to mention that this post was inspired by seeing people call someone's plea for help in a comments section "annoying" and "spamming", which genuinely pissed me off. More so, it brought back that hopeless feeling of knowing how much of humanity has little to no empathy and/or critical thinking skills. While I do see how it could have been seen that way given that it wasn't related to the post at all, it stuns me that not only would someone completely ignore their reasoning to do so, but that they would leave such a cold and insensitive comment that likely caused the person who left it significant distress. She was already in one of the worst states a human being can be in, after all. I can only imagine how deeply that might have wounded her, had she seen those replies. God, I really hope she didn't.

That leads me to the purpose of the post. I have a blog specifically made for reblogging the posts of people who have asked me for help either sharing their fundraisers or donating to them directly, since I'm not currently in the situation to be able to donate myself. Naturally, since I don't post any content on there that appeals to the users of Tumblr, it has absolutely no popularity whatsoever, and I genuinely wonder whether it's actually doing anything to help. Unfortunately, though my main has more popularity, I would strongly prefer to keep those reblogs separate, since it would make up such a large portion of the blog and I'd like to keep intact its purpose of being a place to share what I love.

a quick note

hey, all,

so, late last year, a lovely anonymous reader of mine took the time to comment on start a riot and point out some sections of the fic where i'd represented sara's autism incorrectly, taking the time to explain why such misrepresentations could be harmful. i've already said this in a reply to their comment, but i just want to reiterate that i'm so appreciative of them taking the time to educate me on this when they didn't have to. if you know me or have read any of my fics, you know how important factual accuracy is to me, as well as staying true to the characters, so them reaching out meant the world to me. <3

i promised them i'd try my best to correct these scenes. it took a while, but i never forgot. dear anon, i'm so, SO very sorry it took me so long-- i'll save you the laundry list of excuses and just put forward the updated versions of chapters 5 and 6 of SAR (also here at FFN) with the hope that they read more true-to-life now. if not, feel free to bonk me over the head with a (metaphorical) mallet, and i'll keep trying until i get it right. ;)

Gray!! Hello! I am so sorry it took me so long to respond to your ask!! My response got lengthy, so I'm going to put it under a cut!

My Tav:

7. Describe their arc. How would a player help resolve it? What choices can be made? Can your Tav be turned down a dark path, or pulled to a lighter one?

I really had to think about this question!

So Tav's companion backstory doesn't quite align with how I normally handle her character, but I wanted to give her a companion questline. 😂

If my Tav were a companion, her entire arc would center around how/why she is an emotionally closed off person. She's pleasant to be around, but in-party dialogue will indicate that most of her discussions are surface level--she doesn't let the party close because she doesn't see the necessity to it.

However, once the player character has managed to either raise or lower her approval a sufficient amount, then she will either snap and get angered at the player character (likely over a decision that intentionally brought harm to NPCs--the tieflings in particular) or, if her approval is high enough, she will share some details about her life prior to the events of the game. She'll talk about what it was like living in the Dock Ward and how everyone knew each other. Everyone looked out for their neighbors. The player character can comment something to the effect of, "You sound like you really trusted them. What changed?" Tav will get a little evasive and try to hedge around the answer. She says it's better not to take chances, especially when she has been (quite literally) stabbed in the back for doing so in the past.

As time goes on, if Tav feels like she can trust the player character, then she will begin to tell them more about herself. If this juncture isn't reached through approval, then a character from her backstory will appear and basically throw her personal plight into the open--when Tav began to work as an artisan, she was commissioned by a patriar. And then she was framed for the patriar's murder.

As it turns out, the murder was connected to a larger scheme that trails back to the Absolute, but at the time that Tav was working for the patriar, the conspirators didn't want to be discovered. So they pinned it back on her.

Tav has since been in hiding. People within the artisans' guild who she viewed as friends tried to turn her in, and so she fled the city entirely.

Choices--The biggest (and first) choice that a player character can make is to trust Tav when she says she is innocent--years have gone by, and the people who framed her have had time to refine the "evidence" against her. If she does not feel like she is believed when she confides in the player character, then she becomes notably more cautious around them.

Second choice: When the party reaches Baldur's Gate, there are multiple opportunities to turn Tav into the authorities. And every time an opportunity arises, the reward is also higher. At the very end, the patriar's family/Absolute cultists approaches the party and says that, if they hand Tav over, then they will supply the party with forces to go up against the Absolute. If she is handed over, Tav permanently leaves the party. She can be rescued after the fact, but she immediately goes into hiding afterwards (unless a very high DC is passed). If she remains with the party, all dialogue options (beyond "join me" or "I'll see you at camp") are removed. Notably, all in-party dialogue with other party members has Tav responding with single syllable replies.

If she was not saved from prison, an article run in the newspaper indicates that she was summarily executed after she was taken into custody.

Party members will comment on the execution. Several of them are disturbed. NPCs that Tav has interacted with before may indicate that they don't know whether or not to believe that she was innocent. The player character can either say she was, which saddens them. Others appear unsettled if the player character says she was guilty.

If the player character refuses to turn her over, Tav will express disbelief over their decision. After the final battle in her questline, she thanks them, and then she apologizes for not trusting them sooner.

Dark path/lighter path--Tav's darker path either ends with her in hiding or executed. If she is in hiding, she appears at the epilogue party. She is dressed in tatters, but she is alive. And she says that she'll count that as a blessing. She doesn't have much in the way of time to devote to anything. She expresses her gratitude that the player character rescued her, but if asked what she has been up to/where she has been, Tav doesn't respond. If she talks to any other party members, they will all express that they haven't heard from her at all--the ones who sought her out couldn't track her down. She'll say, "That was the point."

If Tav was not turned in and the patriar's family/cultist conspirators are fought off, when seen at the epilogue party, she is wearing colorful clothes and talks readily about her travels--with the help of Duke Ravengard, her name was cleared. While she is still nervous about walking the streets in Baldur's Gate, she admits (a little coyly) that she has been staying at Ramazith's tower. If asked why she stays there, she comments something to the effect of, "What can I say? The master of the tower is very delightful company."

She writes letters to everyone in the party and visits them when time permits.

As a note: Tav doesn't start to feel safe with anyone until Act 3. However, while she feels safe around different party members/NPCs, this is counterbalanced by feeling unsafe anywhere open in the city.

Her banter with Gale becomes a lot more personal. They talk about their experiences as apprentices, and they laugh a lot.

She enjoys talking to Halsin, and they share a lot of conversations in Bloomridge Park. She finds that Jaheira and her share a dry sense of humor and a deep love for the city, even with its flaws. And she laughs the hardest when she talks to Karlach and Wyll.

NPCs--Tav loves the tiefling siblings, especially their banter. When the party reaches the city, Tav will suggest finding Rolan, Alfira, and Lakrissa. Catching up with them will be nice, but they might also be able to tell the party about the going-ons of the city.

She feels safest in Jaheira's home and later on in Ramazith's tower (this is assuming that Rolan and his siblings are there and Lorroakan is gone). During the epilogue party, she alludes to visiting Shadowheart's cottage and Gale's tower--she loves both and teases the two of them about moving in.

21. Describe a defining moment from their past, which makes them who they are today!

Very likely the first time she called upon magic and successfully cast a spell. She had always thought she would follow in her parents' footsteps, but having fallen in love with magic, she found herself torn and conflicted. As she gets older, she tries to balance and then she marries the two loves together.

24. What does your Tav consider to be their own biggest character flaw?

The moment she thinks someone will hurt her, she shuts them out. There have been occasions in the past where even small infractions could lead to her distancing herself and hurting dear friends in the process. She is hypervigilant to the point of exhaustion, so she deals with a lot of tension pain as well.

Duskwood & Moonvale

The highly anticipated sequel that is utter disappointment.

Hey everyone, remember how I spent about 2 or 3 years singing my high praise for Everbyte Studios and Duskwood (which you can read all about here) and I was so excited for the release of Moonvale, the non-direct sequel set on the same universe?

Yeah? Well, scratch that. While it is too early for me to put a Cultural Studies spin on this review, since the game was released just last week, there's A LOT for us to unpack here, please join me during this first look at Everbyte Studios' Moonvale, out now for Google Play & App Store. And of course, beware for ⚠️ MASSIVE SPOILERS ⚠️ on the course of this text

To start off strong, not only is it highly disappointing that Everbyte decided to go through with AI bullshit assets instead of the beautiful pictures and generally minimalist art design that they got us used to on Duskwood, but then they add insult to injury by deciding to turn THOSE godawful profile pics and backgrounds into a gacha game?!

I'll let Cardi B explain my reaction to the newest Crate system implemented on Moonvale:

And aside from that bullshit, they turn around and decided to ditch the writing style that they had us hooked with on Duskwood (except that this time they improved the English localization very much, ngl) to provide us with an immediate opportunity to romance the first character we meet, almost completely breaking the immersion in the stakes of the whole detective drama plotline.

Though I am very much aware that MANY players loved going through that route with Jake on Duskwood, it does seem highly inappropriate in-universe to be told by Eric that Adam is missing and immediately replying with the equivalent of "omg that sucks for you, wanna date me?" while on Episode 1. The build-up of romantic tension between Main Character (MC) & Jake during the efforts to save Hannah was precisely what made the romantic route so compelling, but considering that the kickstart for most of the in-game events in Moonvale is the mystery surrounding Adam, it would seem common sense that in terms of plot, it would be best if Love as a gameplay option took a while to build up instead of being RIGHT THERE from the get-go (though I'm sadly aware that most of the fandom for Duskwood was CLAMORING for this option to be implemented on Everbyte's socials' comment section for actual years).

Another thing that would have been absolutely gorgeous to build up with higher anticipation is the Duskwood reveal on Moonvale Episode 1... You're really telling me that after all the odyssey to rescue Hannah, seeing Richy's ACTUAL DEATH on the mines, and being concerned for Jake's dissapearance, that our MC will crumble at the slightest pressure from a complete stranger (Ash) and break out the most private details of the story all willy-nilly?! After all this time?! If all this "Save your Duskwood code" and the conversation with Ash does not build up to a fully blown Jake reveal at the end via Adam's gang, this conversation where Duskwood's events are glossed over almost entirely will have been the most anticlimactic part of episode 1.

In my opinion, Everbyte has very much dropped the ball and high standards setup by their highly successful first game, and instead they churned out a rushed out cash grab in order to ride the coattails of the Duskwood fandom hype as fast as possible, with a subpar and very infantilized art design on both the interface and the mini games, because why is there no modern interface that reminisces us of the seriousness of trying to rescue Adam instead of reminding us that most mobile games these days are trying to imitate Candy Crush Saga and its very impressive revenue flow. Who knows?

Though the achievement system seems fascinating, and it provides helpful insights on the steps to follow, along with most useful diamonds needed to continue the plot advancement, wouldn't it have been more accesible for players like me (focused on story) to have an option to just buy the full game at once and opt-out of micro transactions from the get-go, like we did on Duskwood? One of the highest compliments I had for the first game, absolutely obliterated in this follow-up.

The introduction of the very serious envelope addressed to MC with a Tarot card, though very similar to what the Raven was in the story of Duskwood seems highly dissonant with the Moonvale interface art style, since this type of illustrations and backgrounds do not seem to get aligned with ANY of the story elements that Moonvale could potentially present in the next episodes, and whose harmony with the art style in the previous game made us get hooked onto the Duskwood storyline since episode 1...

Would it be too presumptuous of me to tell you that I hated Ash, Charlie and Violet's lackluster personalities as soon as I was introduced to them? We can see that they may follow a very similar trope to some of the gang members from Duskwood with absolutely none of the charisma. If we were to define them in pairs, we get Ash and Lilly, Charlie and Richy, Violet and... idk, Cleo's mom who we briefly hear about on the last episodes of Duskwood? (Yeah, that's how little we hear about/from Violet on episode 1, her cat's name at most). If Eric will end up being a stubborn Thomas or hopeful Jesy type, it remains to be seen.

I cannot possibly be the only one who would have been willing to wait for a while longer until we could get a game as compelling and as beautifully designed as Duskwood, instead of what Moonvale is, at the end of the day.

If you have the opportunity to download Moonvale this early in release, I'd say: Waste it. The only reason I'm going to try to finish the Moonvale storyline is to see what are the Duskwood conclusions and easter eggs that we were promised for at least 2 years but so far, I'd give this game a 5/10, hoping very much that the storyline improves as we go along, and incredibly disappointed in the gacha/mini game mechanics and art style.

And I mean this critique with the utmost love and respect for the Everbyte team behind the development. Criticism is a labor of love, and all the love I have for the original game, means my highest hopes for improvement in this sequel. Though I commend your efforts, being a smaller development studio, all the opportunities for improvement are not lost on me.

Here's hoping the storyline makes up for the interface on the upcoming installments for Moonvale.

The One That Used To Be Maiden Of The Twilight Moon

(Here is the sequel for my Balan Wonderworld novel fic. Here, Lora and Leo head to my oc's stage to save her with the help of Balan. I hope you all like this. Let me know in the comments/reblogs what you think.)

Maiden of the Twilight Moon's stage looked as though it came out of a horror film.

Instead of a tranquil town and park underneath a starry night sky, the stage had been divided into sections that floated in midair, each one a maze. The sky was dark and cloudy with no sighting of either the sun or the moon. Lightning flashed across the clouds as rain poured heavily down. The forest, buildings, flowerbeds, and park benches were all gone. Her stage was practically a ghost town.

Since Maiden of the Twilight Moon revealed earlier that she would do all she can to keep her stage safe, there was a high possibility that she had set traps everywhere.

Streetbeat-Leo and Ghost-Lora hugged themselves in order to gain some warmth from the freezing air. "Balan, is this really Maiden of the Twilight Moon's stage?" Streetbeat asked.

"I am afraid so," Balan replied with a frown while he took in his surroundings. "She's lost herself to her sadness and woe."

"Do you think she changed her stage to protect herself from the rectangular box she saw in her visions of you and Emma?" Ghost questioned.

"In order to uncover the truth, all you have to do is travel through the rain," Balan answered. "If you look close enough, you'll find a clue as to what truly caused her pain." He turned around and vanished, leaving Streetbeat and Ghost to themselves.

Maiden of the Twilight Moon's illusion stared at them while pointing up ahead, a rather gloomy look in her eyes. Knowing that there was no point in turning back, the two set on their way to look for the two Heartrees. But walking through the rain proved to be a difficult challenge as Streetbeat and Ghost couldn't see what was in front of them.

"We'll have to call upon Maiden of the Twilight Moon's imagination to get a costume." Lora closed her eyes while Leo nodded before doing the same.

When they opened their eyes, they found themselves in a costume that resembled a female deer called Rainy Doe. The fur was pale blue and surprisingly waterproof, not to mention, it provided the two warmth from the rain. Plus, the moment that Leo and Lora had the costumes equipped, the rain automatically stopped, allowing them to see clearly in the distance.

"This costume can help us find the two Heartrees." Streetbeat said with a smile before he and Ghost walked forward.

As they looked around for the first Heartree, Ghost took notice of the one thing that wasn't there when she and Streetbeat visited Maiden of the Twilight Moon earlier: tombstones. They were all in various shapes, scattered around in each secton of her stage.

After travelling for a bit while evading the traps, Streetbeat-Leo and Ghost-Lora came across the first Heartree, but froze. The branches on the Heartree were thicker than the previous Heartrees. And odds are, the other Heartree was exactly the same.

Streetbeat quickly fed the Tims some Drops before allowing them to try shattering the barrier. Sadly, the Tims could only hit the barrier three times before they shrunk back to their normal sizes. "Keep an eye on the Tims, Lora!" Streetbeat-Leo kept his gaze focused on the Heartree. "I'll finish what the Tims couldn't!"

With a deep breath, Streetbeat wound his fist back, drawing up his strength, and swung it at the barrier, landing a harsh blow at the Heartree. Pain shot up Streetbeat's arm as he winced while preventing himself from screaming. "D-Did I break the barrier?" He asked through gritted teeth.

"You did," Ghost replied. She pointed to the glittering fragment of Maiden of the Twilight Moon's heart that lay on the ground. Then, she bent down and picked it up. As soon as it was in her hand, Ghost realized what this fragment represented; it was the part of Maiden of the Twilight Moon that allowed herself to fall in love.

"One day, one to go…" Streetbeat grunted. "Let's make a mental note to feed the Tims a lot more Drops before we let them break the barrier of the second Heartree… You know, for obvious reasons…"

"Noted." Ghost nodded as she motioned for Streetbeat and the Tims to follow her. Maiden of the Twilight Moon's illusion still pointed up ahead, meaning that was where they would find the other Heartree.

Streetbeat and Ghost continued onward, making their way from section to section. Streetbeat was silently taking in all of the tombstones that he passed by. It wasn't until he kept on staring that he was finally able to put two and two together.

It's because of death itself that she refused to fall in love again! Streetbeat thought, feeling pity for her. That long rectangular box she saw in her vision… It wasn't a box! It was a coffin! Sadly, the realization alone didn't give Streetbeat the full story. He and Ghost would have to find out more once they bring Maiden of the Twilight Moon back to normal.

Ghost collected more of the Drops that scattered around. A smile crept onto her lips as she glanced down at the Tims. Before, she had been creeped out by their presence. Now, she couldn't help but love them.

At last, they finally found the second Heartree. Knowing the drill, Streetbeat and Ghost both fed the Tims all of the Drops that were collected, giving the little creatures enough power to break that tough barrier. As soon as they were fed, the Tims rammed into the barrier four times before they were back to their normal sizes again. Only this time, they succeeded in breaking the barrier without Streetbeat's help.

Ghost reached for the fragment, which was the part of Maiden of the Twilight Moon that allowed others to fall in love with her. She took within her hands and handed it to Streetbeat. Considering how tough the barriers of the Heartrees were, something told them that these fragments of Maiden of the Twilight Moon's heart were the most important.

And that was enough for them to shudder at the thought of what monster Maiden of the Twilight Moon could have turned into.

But Maiden of the Twilight Moon was still pointing. Streetbeat and Ghost now knew where to find her. So they kept on walking.

They managed to make it to the center of her stage where ruins of a building were seen. Suddenly, emerging from the ground was the monster that had once been Maiden of the Twilight Moon. Streetbeat and Ghost almost flinched in shock. This was no longer the same gentle lady who warmly greeted them. The monster's eyes glared down at the two with a piercing coldness. Its face practically resembled a skull while its hands moved as though it was beckoning for the afterlife.

I can't even feel a flicker of her! Ghost thought.

The monster, Thanatos, landed a punch at the two. But Streetbeat and Ghost immediately dodged the attack. Thanatos's attacks were fast. Plus, it didn't help that he was able to read their every move.

And it wasn't just the punches that Streetbeat and Ghost had to look out for. Maiden of the Twilight Moon was dead set on protecting her stage. So she was throwing all she had at the two intruders. Thanatos summoned up large crystals and shot them down in a vain attempt to strike the two. "It's us!" Streetbeat called out. "It's Streetbeat and Ghost!" But it was useless. She couldn't understand him in the slightest bit.

While dodging the attacks, Ghost decided to start focusing on locating Lance's mark. She finally spotted it encased in Thanatos's ribs.

Unfortunately, finding it didn't do much good for Streetbeat and Ghost as Maiden of the Twilight Moon started to ramp up her attacks. She was now raising stone pillars out of the ground to try to attack them.

Streetbeat and Ghost weren't even close to Lance's mark, but not they had to dodge these attacks with lighting-fast reflects. "Streetbeat! Let's get to Lance's mark now!" Ghost cried.

With a huff, Streebeat and Ghost started to make their way to Lance's mark. It wasn't a smooth journey as they had to dodge the punches, the crystals, and the stone pillars that Thanatos kept lunging at them. After finally spotting Lance's mark, Streetbeat hurled the two fragments into it.

A shriek of defeat escaped from Thanatos before sinking down and transforming back to Maiden of the Twilight Moon. "N-No… Jonas…" She muttered, tears streaming down her cheeks. She didn't spare a glance at neither Streetbeat nor Ghost.

"Why did you get rid of the part of you that allows yourself to fall in love and the part of that allows others to fall in love with you?" Streetbeat asked.

Maiden of the Twilight Moon shot a glare up ar Streetbeat and Ghost. "How dare you try to destroy my stage!" She cried, angry tears evident in her eyes. "This was the only place that I could forget about my husband! Why would you two try to take that from me!?"

Ghost was taken aback from the shouting. "What? Do you hate him? Your husband."

Maiden of the Twilight Moon shook her head violently. "No, I love him! Well, loved is what I'll have to say from now on! And he loved me! At one point, when I got sick, he dropped whatever it was that he was doing to take care of me until I was all better. When I won my music competition as a violinist, he clapped and cheered the loudest. And finally, when he took one bite of the first meal I cooked for him, he told me that he would eat my cooking again and again."

"If you loved your husband so much, why do you want to forget about him?" Streetbeat asked.

"Almost a year after we got married, he wanted to get me something special for my birthday," Maiden of the Twilight Moon replied. "But unfortunately, he had to go to work. I was left at home, so that way, it would be a surprise. I remember waving to him as he left the apartment. It wasn't until a couple of hours later that the firefighters knocked on the door and told me the news. There was an accident that happened at the factory he used to work at. I want to forget that, in the real world, he's never coming back home."

"That's terrible…" Ghost frowned in pity.

"Neither of you know anything about terrible!" Maiden of the Twilight Moon exclaimed. "You two don't know what it's like to have a gaping hole in your heart when the love of your life dies!! You two will never know what it feels like spend days sobbing because everything constantly reminds you of the one person that won't be coming back!! That's why I stopped falling in love after my husband was gone!! And why I stopped letting others fall in love with me!! I don't want to risk having another broken heart!! I'd figured that, if I stay in my stage, I won't have to worry about losing another loved one!!!"

Maiden of the Twilight Moon collapsed onto her knees, sobbing from exhaustion. Balan suddenly appeared and approached her. He took his hat off as he beheld Maiden of the Twilight Moon with a sorrowful gaze while placing a hand on her shoulder.

For a moment, he stayed silent while he listened to her sobs. After that, he spoke to her in a soothing tone. "I know things seem bleak now. But they will get better; you just need to know how. Your husband wouldn't want you being sad and fearing love. As long as you continue to smile and let others in, he will happily watch over you from above."

With that, Streetbeat, Balan, and Ghost all set off for the next stage, leaving Maiden of the Twilight Moon alone with her thoughts.

never, but that could've been fun!

hmmmm, that's a tough question! im not that big of a shipper i think. and lot of my ships are considered to be controversial in fandoms... i'm gonna sound boring and obvious to say caulscott, cause it's the first ship that came to my mind, but is it my fave? it's very interesting to explore, and i love to read numbers of fic with them falling for each other over and over again. from the more " wholesome "ships i can think of, it's dani and jamie from the haunting of bly manor. their story is beautiful and tragic at the same time, and quite important personally for a reason.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

i won't say that i doubt it, but i really really want to finish ambivalence. it's been so long since i started it and there's either personal stuff that gets in the way or lack of inspiration/motivation that makes the process go on for so long. but i have to finish it no matter what, 'cause i don't like leaving stuff unfinished and i really want to see the ending of this fic written down!

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

oh that's a no from me. i tried it at the beginning, but the dialogues sounded awkward and cringy. the reason i edited chaps 1-5 is that some of dialogues there have been translated from my native language and they sounded off.

life is strange. i started writing my fic 'cause i was starved for content and wanted to fullfil my wish of nathan saving max from the dark room.

how do i choose a fav when there's only one? so i have to go with ambivalence. it's my first fic, and it's also very long and i often struggle with stuff that it involves, but overall it's a fun experience.

Can you share some tips to make smaus ?

my first tip might be a bit "obvious" but don't write stuff you personally don't like (that relates also to fanfic in general I guess), write the things that you enjoy, don't force yourself into things you don't feel, it's supposed to be fun and not a task <3

from the more "technical" side - I use pics art to make the "collages" (like three, or more, pics next to each other). this way you can "save space" because on the phone you can add only 10 pics per post (I think it's 30 on the computer). and for twitts I use this app called twi note <3

sometimes you might randomly get an idea - if you can't take care of it immediately, write it down so you don't forget. that's how it was for me with the get with his brother au and it's my most popular series!! that's how it works for me - I can try forcing myself into thinking of an idea, but the best ideas are the ones I get randomly throughout the day <3

it's easier for me, as you may have noticed, to write fans' comments using username1, username2, but I saw people actually making up fans' usernames which is so cool!! so whatever floats your boat!! <3

most pictures you see in my smaus are from pinterest, sometimes I just go there hoping I'll see something inspiring, and a lot of times I save pics in a folder "pics for fics" because I might use them someday eventually <3

no idea if that's good or not but at the beginning I tried to "keep things realistic" like not making the drivers talk in the comments about things they wouldn't talk about in real life. i kind of broke this rule for the brother fic for the drama lol I guess it's better when you don't try to keep the comments realistic, because it's all just for fun after all <3

now my last advice is decide how you wanna make the comment section look like and stick to it (I think I've found my preferred way recently), for example if you want to make it like this:

I kind of stopped reading fanfics after I started writing, so I don't remember what other ways to "build" the comment section are there, so just do whatever you vibe with. the thing with the 2nd way I showed is idk how to write a reply to the reply?? but I also struggled with a "reply to a reply" in the way I use now, if you go to my first smaus it'll look something like this:

Actually, I think reblogs are the perfect way for us to have this discussion. It keeps everything linear, and we don't have to read blobs of text inside small boxes. I hope you don't mind if I reblog your replies as well, just to keep things organised for anybody interested. Now, onto your arguments.

-Mike is not responsible for Will's happiness. If the only way for Will to be happy is for Mike to love him, then I'm sorry to say this, but then that make's Will a shitty friend and a very selfish person. Sometimes you can love someone with all your heart, but they don't love you back; that's just life. When that happens, you just need to accept it. Also, if you believe that keeping Will happy is important to beating Vecna, then keeping El happy is twenty times more important, especially since she's the only one who can fight him on equal footing. How much willpower do you think she would have left after learning that the only person that she ever loved, the first person she ever truly trusted, lied to her about something as important as their relationship and or left her for her adopted brother?

-Does Mike have an exit at the back of it? I doubt it. Therefore, there is literally only ONE WAY into Mike's closet. It's a cheesy pun that someone like Mike would make. Also, not everyone is attracted to animals. The dragon is most likely a character from a fantasy novel, show or book that Mike likes. You can have posters of things that you like in your room without being attracted to them.

As for the movie poster, IT'S A MOVIE POSTER! My brother has a Deadool cutout in his room, but it doesn't mean he's pan. Even then, what Mike has hung in his room is irrelevant if he doesn't show any signs of being queer himself. Will rejected a footsie from an attractive girl. That is solid evidence that he is gay. Mike enters a depressive episode if he doesn't hear his girlfriend's voice or smell her hair, and he makes out with El like he'll starve otherwise. This is solid evidence that he likes Eleven.

-If you think that the playlists are truly so important, then why don't we look at some of the other songs on Mike's Playlist?

She Blinded Me With Science? Mike is a scientist and sci-fi enthusiast. El is Sci-fi incarnate.

Still Haunting Me? Undeniably a reference to the 353 days Mike spent grieving El, waiting for her to either come home or send him a message.

When Love Breaksdown? A reference to Season 3, when Eleven TEMPORARILY dumped him due to the lies he told.

Love is a Stranger? El used to be a stranger, and he fell with her the moment he laid eyes on her. He can't get enough of her, no matter how much pain this causes.

Don't You Want Me? One of Mike's biggest insecurities, the centre of his arc in S4, is his fear that El realises she doesn't need or want him. Also, the woman in the song confirms that she still loves the man singing

I could go deeper, but I honestly can't be bothered to listen to every song in the playlist, and you probably don't want to read through me explaining each one. So, I'll save us both the trouble.

Oh, and by the way. You said nothing to argue against my point that Mike wants to get away from his conservative family like the boy in the song, without being queer himself. So thanks for the easy win.

-Mike saying "We're friends" confirms Will's fear, which he already knew was true. In most other stories, this would be the part where the character responds with, "But what if we could be more?" or something like that, but Will is still in the closet. He can't say anything. The song is responding to Will's silence, saying what he wants to say.

-You didn't say anything about my explanation as to why El is standing alone, so I'll accept that as a point for me.

- The point of making Will in love with Mike, like, why would he suffer even more for no good reason. After all he has been through its absurd to make him heartbroken. Why didnt they have to make fall in love in the first place AND WITH MIKE?
