levi is a career academic and a respected professor of ethics.

in the modern au verse i’d say he’s about 40.

levi is shirt-pants in a business casual way. he has a capsule wardrobe and everything in it is versatile, but basic. it makes being dressed properly much easier.

however, all of his clothes are high quality and well made, same with almost everything he owns.

before becoming established in his career he developed the mindset that he’s too broke to buy cheap shit. levi only buys things that are built to last, even if they’re expensive.

he wears high quality clothes, drives a high quality car, sleeps on a high quality mattress, etc.

the only thing he cheaps out on is food. no organic bullshit, no brand names, and he usually buys in bulk. he cooks at home 98% of the time.

buuuut every other saturday, he gets dinner and drinks with hange and erwin. he’d never tell them, but it’s usually the highlight of his week.

they’re honestly the only reason he goes out. he’s not asocial, but he doesn’t like the fact that he can’t control the cleanliness of public places.

levi’s cleaning habits are due to OCD. although he’s learned how to manage the obsessions much better than before, he’s repulsed by the idea of becoming a slob just because he’s recovering.

when he first became an assistant professor, he tried to save as much money as possible to buy himself a tissot prx 35mm watch with a forest green face. however, erwin and hange beat him to it and gave it to him as a gift.

he wears it every single day and gets it serviced like clockwork. it’s in impeccable condition

levi drives an older black lexus sedan. it’s also in impeccable condition, mechanically and aesthetically.

levi’s cleaning habits opened the door to hobby restoration. he loves taking something old and battered and filthy and restoring it back to its former glory, specifically wooden things like furniture. sometimes he’ll restore jewelry or metal hardware too.

one day he’d like to buy a neglected home and restore it. something timeless and classic with good bones.

his routine is structured and cemented down to the minute. it accounts for things like his morning shower, morning run, breakfast, etc., but also traffic and other distractions so he’s never late.

levi has a strict health, wellness, and fitness regime. at one point, his OCD branched out into the health OCD subtype and he became obsessed with staying as healthy as possible. he’s over it now but he can’t imagine abandoning his routine.

he’s incredibly pale and doesn’t burn or tan if he can help it. he wears sunscreen every day alongside long sleeves and pants.

it’s contributed to his extremely youthful appearance!

levi likes to keep himself as busy as possible— he hates being idle or bored, it makes him feel like he’s wasting time.

he has a lot of trouble with sleep. most of the time he pushes through the exhaustion because taking his prescribed sleep aid makes him uncomfortable. relaxing makes him anxious.

levi rarely answers his phone outside of work hours, and rarely answers texts in general. calling him is the most effective form of communication but good luck

levi is nearsighted and wears contacts during the day. he wears glasses at nighttime/at home. he’s almost legally blind. all of his other senses are sharp as a tack.

he doesn’t really listen to music anymore, and he doesn’t have a favorite genre. before getting his shit together he listened to a lot of nu-metal, though.

speaking of before he got his shit together, levi wears no jewelry other than his watch, but if you look closely at his ears and face, you can see old piercing holes.

levi wears tom ford grey vetiver, and he generally smells fresh and clean. sometimes there’s a lingering hint of bleach.

back in the day, levi used to box competitively. he’s also dabbled in MMA.

levi loves spicy, savory, hearty foods but has a weakness for the cheap wafer cookies from the convenience store.

his love language is acts of service.

levi has one self-indulgent 100% classified secret— he really enjoys steamy romance novels. like raunchy, filthy, full length porn-with-plot novels. it has to be well written, though, so no new-wave teektok author slop.

“—They’re busy,” she cut Dustin off.

Steve didn’t even glance anywhere else as Robin filed the party out of his house. He could only keep his eyes on Eddie, looking at him like Steve was a puzzle with a missing piece. His eyes were squinted, analyzing, reading Steve like one of his worn out paperbacks, cracked and folded and soft with repeated use.

He rounded on Steve the second they heard the door click shut.

“Talia? Who’s Talia, how do you have her recipe?”

“She was my nanny,” he said, hands up like Eddie was pointing a gun right at him, interrogating him for answers.

“Your—” Eddie took a breath. He stepped back, like he realized Steve was wound tight — flashbacks to the boathouse and Eddie with a broken bottle to his throat flashing through his head. “Your nanny? What was her last name?”

“I don’t know,” he confessed, as honest as he knew how to sound. He stared at Eddie as he processed, the calculations still flashing over his face, the puzzle piece still missing.

He carded a shaky hand through his hair, his other hand fidgeting with the rings on his fingers, twirling them round and round and round. Steve was hypnotized, waiting for Eddie to respond. He nodded to himself, pulling out his wallet, chain dangling and clanging together in the silence of the recently cleared-out kitchen. He pulled something small from the cracked leather, a card or paper of some kind.

“Is this her?” he asked, holding it up. It was a picture — a polaroid. It was faded and worn, a little dirty around the edges and frayed where the wallet’s opening had left it exposed.

It was Talia. Steve’s Talia. She smiled up at the camera, a small baby in her lap. Her smile was bright, just like he remembered, and her hair was down, spread over her shoulders in a mess of curls. He could almost hear her laughter again, echoing through the empty hallways of his big house. He could almost feel her fingers carding through his hair as he cried, her soft voice whispering in his ear that he was okay, he wasn’t alone, he was loved and cared for. His chest squeezed painfully, throat tight all of a sudden — just from a picture. He hadn’t seen her face in years.

He looked at the baby, the small one cradled in her arms. It was staring right up at her, big eyes focused on nothing else. He looked back at Eddie.

“You—”

“—Talia was my mother. Talia Munson. It’s her recipe.”

Steve trailed his finger along the soft edge of the picture, eyes not leaving Eddie’s. They were no longer calculating — the puzzle piece had been found, way faster than Steve would have discovered it. Eddie was always so smart, so quick, so fast to find answers and conclusions. He was so smart, and he was so nice, and he had curly hair and big brown eyes and his laugh felt like home. Just like his mother’s.

Just like his dead mother.

so i started the prestige trashy tv version of american gigolo and i'm LOVING the detail that julian is from a trailer park out in the high desert of california (🤌👨‍🍳💋) and it's compelling to me that he's pretty straightforwardly gone from sexually abused child -> teenage prostitute -> adult escort/ex-convict. no wonder he's pining over that beautiful and troubled rich woman! they made each other happy and also he's like 'finally someone with regular problems!'

As dads, both Steve and Eddie are total suckers. They're pretty much guaranteed to give in to any and all whims their daughters may have. They will also, however, make them work for it, which is usually facilitated by Steve (and serves as prime entertainment for Eddie, who has adored watching Steve try to hold his own against smart-ass teenagers since they were teenagers themselves)

This is why Eddie is absolutely delighted when he walks into the kitchen to see that Steve is on the phone with their middle-daughter Robbie.

“Robbie,” Steve says, cutting himself off with a long sigh, “Just tell me why I’m sending you seventy-five dollars.”

With a grin, Eddie settles in at the counter. Steve rolls his eyes, pointing at the phone as if to say get a load of this.

Then his eyebrows fly up.

“You need seventy-five dollars to go get your nails done? What, are they gonna take your midterms for you too?”

She isn't on speaker so Eddie doesn't catch Robbie's exact response to this, but whatever she says is loud enough that he can hear her voice coming through the phone.

"Amelia Robin," Steve cuts her off, "I will think about it. It's time for you to start thinking about getting a job"

Robbie must make one last desperate attempt because Steve says, "Goodbye, my darling girl who only calls when she wants something."

Steve hangs up and immediately points at Eddie as if this has something to do with him.

"Sinclair's boys don't put him through shit like this," he says, "I asked. All they ever want from him is food and Xbox subscriptions."

"Must be nice."

"Remember when the only time she asked for money was for the Scholastic book fair?” Steve asks, “Damn, I miss those days.”

"You're still gonna send her the money, though."

With a resigned sigh, Steve says, "Yeah."

Since like - idk - your first comic page of your AU and i felt like 50% hooked on it because one, the art is chef kiss 💋👨‍🍳 and Two, separate AU i have love-hate relationship with and you aren't helping me/jk/pos

But the moment i saw one of your panels have animation in it?! Oh boy i almost lost my mind! Like i never thought this IS possible!! I thought i was hallucinating for a second before i saw the planel moving! That hooked me on the comic 1000% even more.

And an old comic about your teen one and Gem's F!Mikey bonding and talking about draxum gotten me more interest and excited! Like am over here sitting on chair, tapping my feet impatiently thinking "What the heck happened next?! How long will it take for one to join the family in legal way? And how much until draxum apologize to one for what he done?!".

But did things stop here? Oh heck nah!! You gave us onion(?) One' future self and he's MORE open with his family and smile more?!? This's so wholesome in my heart and makes me happy to no end!!
