like bob just..isn't used to having someone who genuinely cares about him/wants to be around him? so already having a sudden best friend is weird.

to take it a step further (and make it a little sad) he was an addict. he was probably (maybe?) homeless, and that sort of life isn't really one where you can trust the people around you very much? let alone make genuine good friends who love and support you, so like, reader kind of just blows him away. reader Also being a bit unused to have good friends is just icing on the cake fr.

What the fuck is going on? but before they can question it you're both parting and Bob is, surprisingly, seemingly unaffected by the kiss. like its Normal.

"You're right, that ones really good." and then its back to business as usual.

Possibly my favorite part of this trope is the befuddlement of the rest of the team tbh. They're making bets on when it'll come out you and Bob are actually dating, until Yelena realizes that...no, you guys are just that fucking oblivious apparently.

"what d'you mean? we're not dating. we're just really good friends. :)" (shout out @cowardlycandy for That bit of dialogue it has not left my brain thats so him coded)

just!! bob who has someone to love and dote on him without the fear of messing it up somehow (because he a hundred percent WOULD feel like he was constantly doing things wrong in an actual labeled relationship) and being able to love and dote on someone in return :))

Plus "Where'd you meet your partners, Eliot?" Plus bisexual Harry Wilson and whatever he was doing at Mardi Gras!?! And that's not even mentioning openly-gay Breanna my beloved who brings up how queerness affects the con and has an ace! sticker! on her laptop!
