“Hello Misty, you crazy fucking bitch,” Natalie said, her eyes dark and heated. She looked so different than she had all those years ago when they were stranded in the wilderness. Her hair was completely dark now, a little bit shorter. Yet there was the same fire in her eyes, the same fire she’d always had.

“Hey, Nat,” Misty breathed, captivated by the woman before her. She didn’t even notice her date taking his leave, she only had eyes for Nat. “It’s been a while.”

“Yeah,” Natalie said, gripping the gun loosely in her lap. She was all poised confidence and it made Misty breathless. “You haven’t changed.”

Misty made a triumphant sound when she pulled out a small bottle of vodka, open but mostly untouched. She didn’t drink very often, she really just kept it here for when she had guests. The few times that she did.

“Do you want it with some juice? I have cranberry, orange, or—” Misty trailed off when Natalie got up from the table and snatched the bottle out of her hands, sitting back down as she unscrewed the top and took a swig.

Nat cringed slightly at the taste and subsequent burn but otherwise didn’t speak, taking gulp after gulp of her newfound solace.

“Hey, hey, not too much,” Misty said, hurrying forward and grabbing the bottle out of Natalie’s hands. “I don’t want to deal with your drunk self.” She lied, knowing full well that she would deal with whatever version of Nat that stayed.

Nat chuckled. “You think a few swigs of vodka is enough to get me drunk?”

Misty huffed. “Whatever.” She sat down primly at the table and hesitantly took a sip from the bottle, feeling a thrill go through her at the knowledge that her lips were now where Natalie’s had just been.

Nat watched her as she sipped, those beautiful dark eyes on her in a way that Misty never wanted to end.

“So, Quigley, what have you been up to?” Nat sighed out the question, sitting back in her chair as she crossed her arms.
