Sorry if this comes across as a forward question but, when it was initially showed that Tori & Michael had sex and that it lead to Tori confirming she was ace was that like, a big deal for you?

Because I know you’ve been a fan of sprolden way before tori was talked to be ace (or at least I think so) so I was curious to know what was you’re reaction from it

it was and it wasn't, because it had been a really popular headcanon for a long time! I read solitaire 2-ish years after it came out and iirc not long after that people came into Alice's inbox asking if tori was intentionally written as aspec, which alice said she wasn't, but ofc they were still supportive of the headcanon (which wasnt specifically of her being asexual actually! remember primarily seeing a lot of demi and aro spec headcanons, but the general consensus was definitely "somewhere on the aro/ace spectrum"). a few years later, after they had come out as aro/ace themselves, alice "officially" confirmed tori as specifically being ace by drawing her with a little ace pride flag in one of her drawings (officially in quotation marks, bc this was still off-screen). I kind of thought that would be all the confirmation we would ever get because tori's story has already ended with solitaire, and alice has always said she never really planned on bringing her (or michael) back in a more prominent way than being a background character in heartstopper. it was still so nice to have a popular headcanon confirmed like that though (that drawing was also the first time michael was spotted with a little pan flag btw, huge day for osemanverse headcanon havers)

BUT THEN! she did come back! the conversation tori and charlie had in heartstopper was really just a lovely surprise to me because I sincerely didn't think she would ever get an official on-screen confirmation like that, much less an actual small storyline centered around it. getting tori back after all those years was so so delightful and I just really really loved that she was brought back specifically to explore this part of her character that was always there subtextually. it was basically alice going "hey, I didn't realise this at the time, but I see I wrote it this way now I'm looking back on it and I want to properly explore it, actually" which was just so incredible to me. i will eat up any tori content but for me it felt really important that she wasnt just written into the story to get more screentime, but actually to make a meaningful addition to her character. it felt like a service to her character and her readers more than anything. so, it was not a complete surprise to me because she had essentially already long been ace, at least in my head, it was more that she came back for a storyline when i never expected her to that made it a big deal to me :)

I think she's better than Charlie! But yeah, I think she can communicate with her grandparents pretty well and carry basic conversation at a shop or something.

this might not make sense but do you think that book sprolden and tv sprolden are two different people? do you love them the same or different?

I believe that the show and books are different universes so, kinda? They’re the same person just not the same characters, like solitaire isn’t mentioned in hstv so it’s safe to assume it never happened. Plus sprolden didn’t meet in the same way.

I’m heavily biased towards the books so I definitely like book sprolden a lot more, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like hstv sprolden too! I just think of them as different things so it’s a different kind of love

i keep up to date with the heartstopper comic and watched s1 but is it worth watching the rest??

honestly, it depends on how easily you find things cringe?

and I know that sounds odd but basically, I don't cringe SUPER easily because I do many things that are considered embarrassing or cringe, but many people physically struggled to finished heartstopper because they found it too cheesy

I would recommend at least finishing the series once and that way you can form your own opinion, but I really loved all 3 seasons and ESPECIALLY the last season as a solitaire fan because I got to see my beloved Tori and Micheal and they are very very special to me

also season 3 has some more genderqueer representation and ace representation which I adored !!

what is your favorite thing about charles and your favorite thing about erik? separately, as in what you like most about their characters :]

a devious question this one is, my friend!!! it's hard enough for me to explain my thoughts cohesively, but having to pick ONE thing i particularly love is difficult. with characters like charles and erik, theres been so much done with their characters over the decades and so they have so many components to them that make them so interesting and fun to observe. BUT I TRY FOR YOU TODAY. under the cut i kinda ramble and the size of this text box makin me anxious

i think if i were to be simple and broad, what i enjoy most about charles is his determination to help others, even if he isn't really thanked and/or if people don't even like him. ofc, this isn't to say he hasn't done wrong- to be honest, the fact he does wrong/questionable things at times is another aspect of him i really enjoy, maybe because- broadly speaking- he's meant to be altruistic (intent vs outcome and all that). i don't know if that's super exciting to most people, but it is for me

as for erik, my reason for liking him is easier to explain tbh. To Be Simple And Broad, his progression from villain to antihero over the decades has been fun to observe (as much as i have so far anyhow) and analyze. i think to be a bit more specific, him using his rage and pain as justifications for his villainous actions is definitely what compels me the most: hurt people hurt and the sort, an idea i've always found interesting (something something vicious cycles and the like). yet now, he recognizes this wasn't really. A Just Thing To Do and is beginning to change that, which i enjoy

Do you think Michael was up at night manifesting Tori after he took her around Truman so when he met Tori at Higgs again he was like "what a hilarious twist of fate"

oh absolutely. when he tells tori this she rolls her eyes and tells him she doesn't really believe in any of that but secretly she is genuinely moved by the idea of michael wanting her into his life so badly after just one glance that he managed to will the universe into it happening

You think there is something that tori get caught doing that was so embarrassing ?

Do you mean in her entire life? Probably loads of things. I bet Charlie probably walked in on her lip syncing Madonna into her mirror with a hair brush or playing Jedi Knight in her dressing gown when she was maybe too old to be doing those things. Maybe later on Michael walks in on her sobbing watching Homeward Bound or something. I dunno.
