people wonder why people with chronic illnesses get so fed up with the US medical system so easily and here's a short list of things that have happened to me this week
-went to the ER for a new chest pain followed by symptoms of a superficial blood clot in my breast, they found nothing on x-ray or any concerns with 2 ekgs and 2 cardiac enzyme blood tests and diagnosed it as non-specific chest pain told me to follow up with PCP
-contacted PCP who said that as long as the symptoms stay gone i can just follow up with that at my initial cardiology appointment which is in august
-called the cardiology office who said they can't do anything unless someone resubmits a referral as urgent
-psychiatrist prescribed 0.1mg clonidine for insomnia despite all my protests against it because I have fucking POTS specifically because she was going to be out of office for a week and didn't want to prescribe anything with a pre-auth which i get but like dude there has to be something else?
-periodontist would not let me opt out of a pre-anesthesia sedative for an appointment on friday and prescribed clonidine because i have a paradoxical reaction to benzodiazepines, also against all my protests again due to POTS
-pharmacist saved me a trip to the ER by advising me to start with a half dose of the psych's rx of clonidine, even 0.05mg of clonidine made my blood pressure so low that my heart rate ended up going 142bpm while laying down (really bad) to keep the blood pressure normal and stabilized
-now i have to find a new psychiatrist who will actually listen to me and not brush off my concerns because no way in HELL am i staying with this one, but because of my medical complexity a lot of doctors will meet me and decide i'll be too hard to help so that'll be fun
-i have to go through the entire process of making a complaint to the state board that supervises my psychiatrist because that was absolutely incompetence and malpractice
-told the periodontist about the clonidine reaction and so they told me not to take it at all, then said with the narcotic they're prescribing in case i need it afterwards to not take a list of current medications at the same time, including my IV infusion i get every three months that i can't just remove from my system at will
this is normal. doctors not listening to my concerns and finding alternatives until i put myself in dangerous situations on their advice to prove that im not making up the seriousness of my conditions

Custom vs. Ready-Made Cryptocurrency Exchange Clone Software
Tumblr media
1. Introduction
The cryptocurrency market is booming, and everyone wants a piece of the action. With digital currencies now a mainstream investment, building your own crypto exchange has never been more tempting. That’s where cryptocurrency exchange clone software comes into play.
Entrepreneurs face a critical decision early in their journey: Should you go with a custom-built exchange clone or a ready-made solution? Let’s break it down.
2. Understanding the Basics
What is Custom Exchange Clone Software?
This is a tailored solution built from scratch—or heavily modified from a base model—to meet your specific business requirements. Think of it like designing your dream house.
What is Ready-Made Exchange Clone Software?
This is a pre-built solution that's plug-and-play. It's quicker to launch, already tested, and usually comes with essential features out of the box. It's like buying a furnished apartment.
3. Key Differences Between Custom and Ready-Made Solutions
Development Time
Custom builds take months. You’re building it brick by brick. On the flip side, ready-made clones can be launched in days or weeks.
Cost Implications
Custom software is expensive. It demands time, skilled developers, and resources. Ready-made clones are more budget-friendly, ideal for startups.
Scalability
Custom platforms offer better long-term scalability. You can optimize every feature. Ready-made ones may hit limits sooner, depending on architecture.
Customizability
No surprises here—custom builds offer full flexibility. With ready-made software, you're often limited to what's already built unless you pay more.
Maintenance and Support
Custom systems require dedicated teams for support. Ready-made solutions often come with support packages from the provider.
4. Benefits of Custom Crypto Exchange Clone Software
Full Control Over Features
Want a dual-auth system or multi-chain wallet? No problem. You decide what stays and what goes.
Tailored User Experience
From UI to transaction flows, everything aligns with your vision.
Branding Flexibility
Want to be the next Binance or something completely new? A custom platform gives you that freedom.
5. Benefits of Ready-Made Crypto Exchange Clone Software
Faster Time-to-Market
Speed is king. Launch fast, test market fit, and scale later.
Lower Upfront Investment
You don’t need millions. Just pick a good package and you’re live.
Proven Market Performance
These clones are often modeled after successful platforms like Coinbase or Kraken—battle-tested and reliable.
6. When Should You Choose Custom Clone Software?
For Unique Use-Cases
Need a feature-rich hybrid exchange or one with cross-chain trading? Go custom.
When Building a Long-Term Brand
If you're playing the long game, invest in infrastructure that supports it.
7. When Should You Choose Ready-Made Clone Software?
For MVPs and Startups
Got an idea and want to test it fast? Go with a ready-made solution.
When Budget Is Limited
Start learning. Prove your model. Upgrade later.
8. Security Comparison
Security Features in Custom Builds
Custom solutions let you build top-tier protection: cold wallet integration, multi-sig wallets, anti-DDoS—all tailored to your needs.
Are Ready-Made Solutions Vulnerable?
Not necessarily. Good providers offer decent security—but you’re tied to their protocols unless you pay to upgrade.
9. Regulatory Compliance
Whether it’s GDPR, AML, or KYC laws, both models can be designed to comply. The difference lies in flexibility and future-proofing, which custom builds excel at.
10. Integration with Third-Party Tools
Your exchange won’t work in isolation. You need payment processors, KYC/AML services, and maybe even AI-based analytics. Custom builds allow seamless integration. Ready-made? Sometimes limited.
11. Automation & Trading Bots
Whether you're eyeing institutional traders or retail users, automation is non-negotiable. Integrating the best automated crypto trading platform boosts user retention and trading volume.
12. Choosing the Right Development Partner
Don’t just Google “crypto exchange development company.” Look for experience, a robust tech stack, client reviews, and ongoing support. A great team is half the battle won.
13. Real-World Examples
A startup in Europe launched a ready-made clone to test the waters—within 6 months, they pivoted to custom software after raising capital.
A fintech brand in Asia went custom from day one. Higher costs upfront, but they now lead in the regional digital currency exchange market.
14. Which One Is Right for You?
If you want to move fast and test your business idea, go with a ready-made clone. If you’re planning for long-term domination, custom is the way to go.
15. Conclusion
There’s no one-size-fits-all in the crypto world. Your choice between custom and ready-made cryptocurrency exchange clone software depends on your goals, budget, and vision. So, what kind of exchange do you want to build?

“...Hi, I’d like to make an appointment with Doctor Patrick, please...”
He sat back against the chair on the balcony, looking at the card in his hand.
“Name and date of birth?”
“Satoshi Edgeworth. First name spelled ‘S-A-T-O-S-H-I. Last name is spelled ‘E--D-G-E-W-O-R-T-H. My birthday is November 1st, 20XX.”
It was quiet on the other end as Satoshi heard the fast typing by the receptionist on the other end.
Tumblr media
He was grateful that Edward was still passed out in the room. This was probably the first time on their whole trip that Satoshi had gotten up before his husband. Hm...
“...Mr. Edgeworth? You’re already scheduled an appointment with Doctor Patrick on the Monday after Thanksgiving for a CT scan. Is everything okay?”
Ah...
“Not sure. I was wondering if I could just come in for a consult and maybe an X-RAY? I’m getting some pain in places I normally haven’t gotten pain in before. So I just...Am a bit concerned.”
“Absolutely. Does Thursday at 2:15 work for for you next week?”
Tumblr media
“That’d be perfect. Thank you.”
Hanging up, Satoshi sunk down in the chair and put his hand over his eyes. “If it’s not one thing it’s another....”

A - Z Fluff (Jesse Edition)
Gen ;; Fluff - Headcanons (??)
Warnings ;; None
Proofread + Edited ;; HA. no
Auth. Note ;; WELCOME TO DAY 12 OF THE 4*TOWN CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN !! WE'RE OFFICIALLY HALF WAY THEREEEE !!
sorry for the lateness,, literally just forgot to post this one so guess y'all are getting 2 today lmao
Enjoy !! <3
✄┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈«
A = Activities (What kind of things do you do?)
He likes to relax together, maybe with you watching TV and him writing a song about you or completing a puzzle together.. anything with you
B = Baby (Do they want a family? Why/Why not?)
He already has 2 little miracles but he'd love to have more with you
C = Cuddle (How do they cuddle?)
Jesse is always touching you,, his need to be connected to you is almost chronic. He has a soft spot for hugs from behind,, whether it's him doing it or you.
D = Dates (What are dates with them like?)
Anything you want,, Jesse is willing to provide. As long as he's with you he savours every second.
E = Everything (You are my ____ (e.g. my life, my world)
You are his heart
F = Feelings (When did they know they were in love?)
Cheesy but probably seeing you interact with his kids,, it might have the first time or the hundredth but seeing you treat them as your own helps his gaze shift into a new light
G = Gentle (Are they gentle? If so, how?)
Very,, gentle but passionate is how I'd describe Jesse
H = Hands (How do they like to hold hands?)
He likes to interlock your finger,, watching as he carefully links each one together
I = Injury (How would they react if you got hurt?)
Pretty calmly,, mans has kids after all and children tend to hurt themselves doing the simplest things so Jesse's developed a knack for calm in stressful situations. Pre-kids tho ?? Absolutely freaking out, you'd think he was the one who'd gotten hurt and then some smh
J = Jealousy (Do they get jealous?)
Not really tbh,, Jesse's very secure in himself and your love for each other.. unless he's got reason to believe he should be jealous he won't be..
K = Kiss (How do they kiss? Who initiated the first kiss?)
Soft and slow,, as if he's trying to savour it.. like he's scared you'll disappear. Your very first kiss was actually initiated by you,, mans was hovering and very obviously wanted to do something so you took initiative and did it for him
L = Love (Who says I love you first?)
Him but by complete accident.. Jesse is extremely cautious about who he dates and brings into his life because it doesn't just affect him,, if things go badly his kids are involved too so he tries to hold off on big milestones until he's sure. But just seeing you with his kids.. literally melting. Mans just blurts out that he loves you the exact same time that he realises it
M = Memory (What's their favourite memory together?)
Hmmmm,, there's lots but his fondest is probably when you both took his kids out on a picnic.. he remembers they were so happy and even when you'd left they wouldn't stop talking about you and how cool you are and how you're their favourite ever
N = Nickel (Do they spoil? Do they buy the person they love everything?)
Absolutely splurges on you,, whatever you want he'll get you and if he can he'll make it for you.. there are no bounds so don't be afraid to ask for what you want with Jesse
O = Orange (What colour reminds them of their other half?)
Ohhhh Jesse would absolutely put some thought into this,, an absolute art nerd that's very into colour theory and what different colours symbolise
Pink for love, care, tenderness and acceptance.
P = Pet names (What pet names do they use?)
All the classics really,, love, darling, sweetheart, sugar.. he'll use babe but never baby,, says it feels weird yknow ??
Q= Questions (What are the questions they’re always asking?)
Jesse is quite the planner for activities so he'll always just enter whatever room you're in, after knocking of course, and ask if you want to whatever activity on whatever day,, it's quite sweet actually
R = Rainy Day (What do they like to do on a rainy day?)
Sometimes he's feeling the main character mood and wants to sketch by the window, probably you or the kids or you and the kids, or, when he's not, he wants to play board games with the whole family :DD
S = Sad (How do they cheer themselves/others up?)
If it's someone else,, Jesse will bring them into his studio and talk with them, whether it's about what's upsetting them or not while he makes them some pottery
If it's him,, Jesse will lock himself in his studio and create until he feels better.. being around people when he's upset is the last thing Jesse wants,, he has trouble relying on people like that
T = Talking (What do they like to talk about?)
His kids, his not-kids (4*TOWN) and his passions,, he also loves to talk about you and your thoughts and feelings,, tell him about you and he'll never stop wanting to learn more
U = Unencumbered (What helps them relax?).
Art is Jesse's way of expressing himself and his feelings,, it really helps him wind down if he's feeling stressed.. he doesn't like feeling pent up at all
W = Wedding (When, how, where do they propose?)
As I've said,, Jesse is the type to wait until he's absolutely sure that a life with you is possible, he has more than his own heart at stake if things go wrong. After a couple of years is when I see Jesse popping the questions,, it could always happen earlier but I think naturally that's how long it would take
The proposal is either meticulously planned out and done with perfection or he accidentally blurts it out before he can get on with his meticulous plan
He'd do in a spot special to both of you, maybe the park you had that picnic with the kids in, and go on this whole speech, whether it's the one he planned or not. Incredibly sweet and loving is our artist boy <3
X = Xylophone (What's their song?)
It's All Coming Back to Me Now - Celine Dion (Don't ask questions,, it just is)
Y = Yearning (How well do they cope when they’re separated from their S/O?)
He copes alright,, of course he'd much rather you be there..
If on tour he calls often to check on on you and his kids if you're taking care of them or just checking in
If other he again calls often to check in you but he's prilly got his kids this time so he's calling just for you <3
Z = Zebra (If they wanted a pet, what would they get?)
Absolutely wants a hamster like one he had when he was little, but honestly if his kids even so much as looked at any animal he'd happily buy it for them
✄┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈«
Hope you enjoyed !! <3

★ïč’₊‧ sero headcanons bc i'm in love w him.
student!sero
he's math smart, like he just grasps the concepts and formulas so well his favorite math is pre calc. he doesn't like do math for fun tho!! but in class he's the guy that will be all "damn i don't feel too good about that test i disent study at all!" and then make one of the highest grades. he's ok at sciences, but history and english is just a big no for him. he doesn't see the point at all !! like all the grammar and dates, he thinks it's totally useless. he is also a good study partner. his vibe is just very calm and peaceful (whenever he's not talking abt wtv him and his friends did the other night) he's also good at explaining things. like walking u through how to do the problems, why it's this instead of that, etc.. ok ik canonly he makes like not the best grades, but i'm ignoring that bc in my head sero helps me w alg.2 :| he doesn't rlly pay attention in class tho. he's that guy that u always see throwing paper balls and wtv at his friends and u think "wtv he's only hurting his own education" and then he gets like a 90% on the next test. :|
boyfriend!sero
the absolute best. that's it. he is so goof-ly (is that a word?) in love w you it's actually cringeworthy. and ok. i'm a strong believer in mean studious gf & goofy laidback bf and that's 10000% his type. ofc he loves someone who can match his energy and all that but something abt the babes that always look pissed or w their nose in a book gets him goin'. his favorite types of dates are staying in one of ur rooms (mainly urs. he just likes the vibe) and studying or just talking & asking u to do ur skincare routine on him or wtv !! or getting breakfast dinner at like 11pm on a saturday night. also he is so understanding and forgiving. like let's say ur being hella stressed out, exam season and whatnot, u have so much to do and can't figure out where to start, how to organize it, HOW TO DO IT, and so u start pushing ppl away a tad. not violently. just not spending time w ur friends or ur boyfriend, isolating itself basically, and not eating properly. so sero, being the amazing caring bf he is, tries to talk to you and express his concerns but oh no... u snap at him. not rlly at him but it's like the final straw. maybe u say something totally mean? maybe you just scream at him that u can do it urself, and to get tf out. he'll leave u alone for mmm maybe 2 hours. then calming asking you to talk. now your thinking "omfg he's breaking up w me" BUT NO NO NO ! he just wants to have a convo w you after you've kinda let it out, even if it was on him.. now when you meet him in his room ur like about to bawl ur eyes out bc u can't figure out how to apologize to him, but he just lets u come in, wipes ur tears kisses you on the forehead telling you how he knows ur sorry and just ties to calm you down and see what he can do to help. even if it's just being there.
auth note: ew this was longer than i wanted it to be. also it's pretty much just a projection on what i need rn

since i am going to see the jonas brothers in concert, i figured i would give you guys my reaction to 'the album' since it just dropped !
miracle
first listen thru, i had not a single clue what the ever loving fuck they were saying. like, at all. thank god for genius for the lyrics lol
joe's vocals are INSANE on this album. already, with just this song. i always thought nick's were better, but damn
joe is giving him a run for his money.
fun song. like the piano being the leading instrument. good song to vibe to.
montana sky
country jonas brothers? i would be into it.
this song is really fun. a different vibe than the previous one, but equally as vibey to listen to.
kinda reminds me of sister golden hair by america, just not as sad
would have loved a bridge but it's fine.
wings
this song came out before the album. i like it. i wouldn't say it's my favorite.
i think lyrically it's a bit too simple to be a song really. it's also extremely short. but i like the general idea of it.
i wish it was longer, more flushed out into a fuller song. or at least repeated for one more verse.
sail away
one of my immediate favorites first time i listened. the pre-chorus is so groovy. highkey a great song to dance to.
and as if it wasn't obvious, every song is about their wives. which is nice, but does make me feel perpetually lonely lol
americana
first listen thru, again, couldn't understand wtf they were saying. but i looked up the lyrics and
 they're fine i guess.
there is a bit of a nostalgic feel to them. the imagery they give. feels like a summer song.
but a bit too idealistic for me, if that makes sense.
celebrate!
i was dancing to this song, so that let's you know how i feel about it.
one of the tops ones of the album for me.
genuinely love this song.
waffle house
i've seen a lot of ppl not like this song. i get why some might not. but that's not me lol
i vibe heavy with this song. one of the better ones off the album. makes sense why it was single.
highkey wish they would just curse tho lol
vacation eyes
i've always said this about the jonas brothers: they know how to write a romantic song.
and i think weirdly this song is the most romantic on the album. but a light-hearted romantic.
i need a man like the jonas brothers please and thank you :)
summer in the hamptons

i hate this song sksksks
it's just, not good.
the music itself is fine. the lack of drums is a bit off-putting to me personally. but lyrically
.. garbage. like borderline 'pizza girl' level.
summer baby
kinda hate that they have two songs back to back with 'summer' in the title. they could have easily called this song something else. not the point tho.
this is in the similar vibe of 'vacation eyes'. i like this one, and it's pure sweetness.
also the ending of nick and joe saying nonsense, it was adorable.
little bird
i bawled my eyes out :)
i miss my dad a lot.
walls
this song is amazing, and a great end to the album. the choir is a beauty touch to the song, makes the song so much more majestic.
i will say the only part i didn't like about this song was the almost-dubstep electronic breakdown that happens towards the end of the song.
but that's the only part i didn't like. the rest is top notch.
OVERALL
every song is too short. it's kinda weird how many of these songs are barely over 2 minutes. not that the jonas brothers ever wrote super long songs, but these feel incredibly short to me. i also think that whenever the jonas brothers work with someone new, they absorb them and their style. and here, it's a bit of a toss between being really fun to hear these funky, 70s-esque mixed synth songs and not as fun bc it ends up not sounding like them to me. you can tell jon bellion was on this album, and i barely know any of his music. i will say the one true downside, to me, of this album is the amount of autotune that is on the vocals. i understand it's not bc they suck at singing, it's an artistic choice. but i feel like some of the songs didn't need it, and kinda took the authenticity that the jonas brothers bring to their music away. their vocals are their shining star, i think, and covering that up with noticeable autotune flattens a lot of these songs. also, a lot of the songs end abruptly or just don't really have an ending that makes sense.
i have a feeling that this album will be more of a grower on me, bc as of right now i think it's fine but not my favorite. i said the same thing about pretty much every new album i've heard this year, and the jonas brothers' last album, happiness begins. i think the first half of this album is the best. and i kinda wished there was one more ballad on here.
i'm also gonna make a bit of a controversial take (possibly): i love that the jonas brothers love their wives and their daughters. that's great, and there is nothing wrong with writing about either of those two things. however, please write about something else. back in the day, the jonas brothers - on top of being fantastic at writing romantic songs - were also very good at breakup/heartache songs. i don't want them to experience hardships when it comes to their spouses or children, but you need to break up the "i-love-my-wife-and-kids" fest with other songs. a whole album like that is kinda boring, and this is somewhat proof of that. like, we get it
you love your wives. but please find something else to write about.
you can write about the past, you know lol
i feel like i was kinda negative about this album, but i do genuinely like it. i just wanted more, i think. or had a different idea in my head of what it would sound like. but i know i will grow to like this album, like i have with all of their albums. just some came more easily than others haha

How to get your Humira level tested thru Prometheus
I started taking Humira for my Crohn's in July of last year. Getting onto this medication was a gigantic pain in my ass, but I actually think the part that ended up being the hardest was dealing with getting my levels tested, so I wanted to write a post detailing that process. There is lots of info here that I wish I had known at the start. I actually have been wanting to write this post since last September, which was when I actually had the test done, but the whole situation didn't get fully wrapped up until today, 6 months later, and I didn't want to write it until I had complete information.
I will try very hard to make this an informative post and not just a rant but I'm not sure I have the self-restraint tbh.
OK, to start: what even is this test? With biologics, you need to maintain a high enough concentration of the drug in your system, to prevent your body from producing antibodies against the medication, and for it to be effective. My (now former - more on that soon lol) gastroenterologist is pretty passionate about making sure his patients keep a good level and will have them go on a weekly dose instead of the normal every-other-week dose if their levels aren't to his liking.
Importantly, the timing of this test is vital. You can't get it measured in the days immediately after you inject or your levels will be super high. The goal is to find out what the level is when it's at its lowest, i.e. in the day or two before your injection. My (former) gastroenterologist wanted me to get this test done between my second and third doses. That didn't end up happening because of how much of a clusterfuck this whole thing was.
So this test is only done by one company in the United States, Prometheus Biosciences. The name of the test is Anser ADA. They also have similar tests for measuring the levels of other biologics, like Anser IFX which measures Remicade levels (ADA = adalimumab, which is the generic name for Humira; IFX = infliximab, or Remicade). They have tests for Stelara and Entyvio too. If I had to guess, I'd say that the info in this post is probably pertinent to those tests as well, but I cannot guarantee it. I only know for sure about my own experience with Anser ADA.
Because this test can only be performed by Prometheus, it is likely that you cannot just go to your hospital's lab and have them draw your blood. It's possible they will do this draw for you and mail the blood to Prometheus, but you'll want to be certain to clarify this with your doctor.
My doctor's office gave me a lot of extremely wrong information, so I had no idea about this. I actually showed up at my hospital's phlebotomy lab on the morning before my third Humira dose, handed them a form that my doctor's staff had given me that contained the order for the bloodwork, and they took my blood and I thought I was done with it. Then WEEKS later at my next appointment with my doctor, he was like "did you ever get that Prometheus test done?" and I was like "wait do you not have the results back from the blood I gave weeks ago?" and he was like "you absolute imbecile, we can't do that lab for you, you need to schedule that with Prometheus's phlebotomists" (I'm paraphrasing a little bit here). To this day I have no idea what happened to the blood I gave at the lab! I assume they were like "wait what do we do with this lol" and then threw it in the garbage and didn't bother to inform me????
This was just one of many bad experiences I’ve had with this doctor/hospital, but this was the one that finally pushed me over the edge. I have since changed to a new GI at a different hospital (which was its own fucking saga, omg, it should not be so hard to get your medical records transferred from one hospital to another).
ANYWAY, my point is, be very certain to talk with your doctor about whether your hospital can draw this blood for you. If they can't, you have to call Prometheus to set up a draw with them.
Prometheus is located in California but contracts with a network of phlebotomists throughout the country. You can set up an appointment for a phlebotomist to come to your home to draw your blood.
For some goddamn reason, instead of equipping their phlebotomists with the supplies they'll need, Prometheus will mail you a package ahead of your appointment that contains some supplies.
Here's my next pro-tip: Prometheus will use some very scary language to make it sound like you need to be waiting right at the door when this package arrives and to immediately put some of the contents of the package into the freezer or else something terrible will happen. This is not true. What's actually happening here is that the package will contain some shipping supplies, including an insulated container and an ice pack, which the phlebotomist will need in order to store your blood safely. They want you to pre-freeze that ice pack before the phlebotomist arrives so that it will be ready to go as soon as your blood is drawn. That's it. So there's nothing in the package that's gonna, like, go bad or something if you don't get it into the freezer right away.
The whole thing was kind of stressful because I didn't have any tracking info on the package or anything, but it did arrive ahead of my appointment.
Okay so the next big topic here is PAYMENT. This is a $2,500 test, and most insurance doesn't cover it.
Around the same time I scheduled the draw with Prometheus, I sent a message to my insurance carrier to ask whether they would cover the test. The rep who replied to my message needed to know the CPT code for the test and the NPI for Prometheus, which I found on Prometheus's prior authorization form here. The insurance rep then said that this test would require my doctor to complete a prior authorization. If I got the prior auth, then insurance would cover the test at the out-of-network rate, which would require me to pay 35% of the cost. Without the prior authorization, they would deny the claim entirely.
I sent a message to my doctor's office asking them to complete the prior authorization stat, as I had already scheduled the draw with Prometheus and there wasn't much time. I was hesitant to cancel my draw, because that would require me to wait at least another 2 weeks (since you have to time the draw with your Humira doses), and I was already months later on this test than my doctor had originally wanted because of the whole snafu with thinking I could get it drawn at my hospital. My doctor's assistant replied and said she didn't think they'd have time to complete the prior auth, but not to cancel my appointment. She assured me that Prometheus would not charge me more than $75 if my insurance denied the claim.
I was extremely nervous about this. I was mainly concerned because I had found this info about Prometheus's payment assist program, which says that they'll reduce the charge to $75 if your income is below a certain threshold, and mine is not. Based on the info on that page, it looked like I didn’t qualify for any cost reduction, so I was pretty convinced they were gonna charge me the full $2,500.
Looking at the claims on my insurer's website, I see that Prometheus indeed tried to charge my insurance $2,500 for the test, and my insurance denied it. There is an additional $50 claim to my insurance, which insurance did pay, which I think was for the cost of having the phlebotomist visit my home.
Prometheus sent me several mailers about their payment assist program, which I just ignored because my income is too high. And for the next 6 months I sat anxiously waiting to receive a bill in the mail for several thousand dollars.
Well I'm happy to report that today, I finally received the bill from Prometheus, and it is for $75. I don't know why exactly they reduced it to that amount, but I am certainly not going to complain.
Now, I'm not certain of this, but my GUESS would be that the $75 rate is only for people who are doing self-pay. So, hilariously, if I had gotten the prior authorization done on time, my out of network coinsurance would have required me to pay 35% of the total claim, which would be $875. So, I mean....I can't guarantee that your experience will be the same as mine, but it seems to me like it is to your advantage to not go through your insurance for this test.
Oh, and Prometheus will NOT hold your test results hostage while they try to get paid. They sent the results to my doctor soon after the draw. And my levels were good!
ANYWAY, this was long, but I wanted to share everything I wish I had known before going through this. I hope it will help someone else who is trying to navigate this process!!!

Viruses are not the only "bad" thing
Once upon a time, about the only "bad" thing for a computer (aside from hardware problems or dumb users) was a virus. I'm going to let you in on a little secret here ... virus detection has not changed since the 80's when the first computer viruses started to be prolific; essentially you look at the SHA hash of a file, and if it matches a known virus ... it's a virus.
No matter what Symantec and Kasperski and McAfee tell you, that's really all that's behind their magic. Oh, sure, they look at anything that's OS executable and have a reputation on it, but that's still based on hash.
So what's the big deal, then, if you have virus scanning on your email server, workstation, and everywhere else? Well, viruses are not the only bad thing. "Bad" email comes in a lot of different categories:
Spam Phishing Malware BEC (Business Email Compromise, aka "Impostor") Adult (aka "porn") Virus Greymail Spoofed
So let's go over those categories. A lot of people call anything bad in email "spam" but most filtering companies consider spam to just be cold-contact marketing email that doesn't adhere to the CANSPAM act/law of 2003 (geeze, has it been that long?). Spam is not malicious, it's just unwanted garbage trying to get you to buy something, and in modern times that something is often pornographic.
So next up is Phishing. Phishing emails typically fall under 2 categories; 1) emails trying to get you to respond directly with your username and password (I.E. "This is your helpdesk, there's a problem with your account, we need your username and password ASAP") - these are usually unsophisticated attacks that rely on volume more than being targeted. The other is 2) emails with links to websites are essentially a mock-up of a legitimate website, and once you put in your credentials, they can access your account. These are often very sophisticated and will use look-alike domains and very cleverly rendered websites to fool people. Phishing can get really bad if they manage to get access to your phone account and do a sim swap; think about it, where is all your 2-factor auth coming from?
Next up is malware. While malware is almost certainly a file of some sorts, it differs from viruses in that it's usually code execution on the browser side that's gonna damage your computer (think keystroke loggers or redirects). You can't virus scan for ever-changing code, so malware is often identified by the websites hosting it.
Now we have BEC; that's where a Threat Actor is pretending to be someone in your organization for the purpose of screwing you out of your money. One of the most common ones isl "Hi, this is your CEO, I'm schmoozing a bunch of clients right now and I forgot to bring freebies to hand out, could you go purchase $400 in $20 iTunes gift cards and scratch off the numbers and send them to me ASAP?" Yup, sounds insane. Guess what? It works.
Next up is Adult. Porn email, but it's just so darn prolific. I've seen "Canadian Pharmacy" emails get flagged as adult, though, because they so often push generic Viagra.
Ok, so I've already covered viruses at the beginning of this post, the only other thing to say on that is in order to scan for viruses, email attachments have to be scannable. There are a lot of organizations that use password protected attachments in emails with a pre-determined password; guess what? Virus scanners can't scan that. It's like Schrödinger's cat - until we can peek in the box (or the attachment), we can't determine if the cat is dead or alive (if there's a virus or not).
Next we have Greymail; not unlike spam, but it typically does adhere to the CANSPAM act in that 1) you have a prior business relationship with the sender and 2) they have and honor unsubscribe requests. This is your JC Penny weekly deals, ESPN Monday morning NFL scores, and Reddit summary updates.
Finally, we have Spoofing. This is where the sender is pretending to be someone they're not, either in real name or email address. We've already addressed how to detect spoofing with SPF/DKIM/DMARC in an earlier post, so I won't go into that much here, but I will tell you that pretty much every organization I've ever worked with (and that's many hundreds at this point), has "legitimate" email coming in that fails those protocols, so they're certainly not perfect.
Ahhh, I remember in the old days when you just had to worry about viruses.

ShipStation Pricing, Highlights, Reviews and Comparison of Alternatives
ShipStation review
What is ShipStation?
As a multi-transporter, multi-channel dispatching arrangement, ShipStation was intended to encourage online retailers’ delivery and satisfaction measures. Fueling many stores and preparing a large number of delivery names every month, ShipStation is ready to set aside dealers time and cash by boosting their transportation efficiencies.
To accomplish this, ShipStation naturally recovers and combines request information from more than 40 deals channels, applies a preconfigured set delivery inclinations to each request depending on what you've determined, cycles and prints redid transporting names and pressing slips—up to 500 out of a solitary group—consequently refreshes each store with transportation status and tracking information. When the term is made, we computerize all customer communication and give united answering to prompt review. The entirety of this happens, consequently, flawlessly, and continuously. For those hoping to redistribute a few or the whole of their transportation activities, including picking, pressing, delivery, and customer service, look at our mix with Satisfaction by bigcommerce shipstation review!
Test your transportation programming - they're not all made the equivalent.
I moved from Stamps.com and cut my transportation and customer service time by 80%. I embraced this product at ~15 bundles every day since it was more costly than Stamps.com. Awful move!!! Pay extra for ShipStation from the beginning.
Tumblr media
Pros
I've utilized ShipStation, ShippingEasy, ShipWorks, Stamps.com, Ordoro, and SolidCommerce with a couple of customers. My two most loved ones are ShipStation and ShippingEasy. The two of them have various qualities - sweat the little stuff since it truly has any effect if you're delivering 200+ bundles a day. It merits utilizing at least two frameworks and afterward picking the best. The time I have burned through merits the energy. I use ShipStation for dealing with the delivery and customer service from my site, Amazon, Walmart, Stream, eBay, and Etsy. The application is unshakable. Making manual requests is straightforward, as is bringing in claims and combining shipments. I like that I can require requests to wait and arrange future shipments briefly. Different merchants like ShippingEasy can't do this (yet). We get a reasonable number of claims that have a terrible location, and we're ready to require requests to be postponed until we hear once more from the customer. This transportation governs, and kitting choices are genuinely vigorous. It is anything but difficult to distinguish return customers (this is something not done well by different stages). The UI is exceptionally closed up. ShipStation likewise has an unrivaled "Search Customers" work that will look at 3 and 4 section names, city, state... A portion of different merchants flop here. Having great inquiry lessens customer service time.
Cons
There are a few things that ShippingEasy does better - for example, they're a solitary page application, and that implies that the interface is overly quick. ShipStation is slower as you move around in the interface. I wish that ShipStation could deal with my stock across commercial centers, and I'm enamored with how a portion of different sellers request reviews utilizing showcasing/email computerization. I trust some time or another that merchants like ShipStation will likewise connect to Auth.net or Stripe.com so we can Auth and Settle New Manual Requests. It takes somewhat longer to learn ShipStation, yet if you're running a bigger/complicated business, you'll come to value the force that comes with the complexity.
Shipstation Transformed me
We began with a ship station when our little online shop was transporting admirably under 100 things every month. I'd attempted a couple of different virtual products, and none of them compared. Presently, our business has become many, many occasions over, and the ship station has scaled with us quickly. It's unfathomably simple to utilize, coordinates brilliantly with our online customer facing facade, eBay, and so forth... I've recommended it to many, numerous individuals throughout the long term, and I honestly can't envision maintaining my business without it!
Stars
Convenience and highlight extravagance. We had attempted two or three other delivery frameworks for our online shop, and none were as automatic and easy to use as Shipstation. We had the option to get fully operational immediately when we previously began. Now, numerous years after the fact, I've learned a significant part of the profound usefulness that lies underneath the straightforward surface.
Cons
I needed to think sometime. However, I do with the dashboard detailing as a piece more transparent and more straightforward to peruse. There are several gadgets on there that I still have to make sense of how to pursue.
Shipstation is incredible programming at the cost. However, it has its constraints.
Shipstation is extraordinary, yet as you scale out your business, you will no doubt need to move to a more hearty WMS. For some new companies that don't have a ton of stock or a high volume of SKUs, Shipstation will give a useful asset that can help accelerate satisfaction and deliver huge numbers of dissatisfaction with transportation items while not costing you immense measures of cash.
Professionals
Shipstation is extraordinary for companies that are searching for a mark printing answer for their shopping baskets. Shipstation is ready to deal with high volumes of requests and takes into account names to be pre-printed, which can enormously expand the satisfaction time. There are acceptable sifting alternatives that can prompt more efficiencies when printing that can spare time with your satisfaction group. Shipstation coordinates with various stages reasonably consistently, which considers greater assorted variety in the regularly developing number of steps. They are likewise continually including new locations that can be coordinated with. I think the way that this product is easy to understand and effective in its plan makes this product beneficial speculation for those that need a superior delivery arrangement.
Cons
The issues that we have run into with this product as we have scaled to prepare more than 3000 shipments daily are such a large number of gaps, causing numerous open doors for mistakes, handling paces, and absence of adaptability. At the point when you are preparing up to 3000 requests every day, issues substance themselves out rapidly. One issue that has arisen is the failure to consider individuals responsible when blunders happen. For instance, since the names are pre-printed, there is no straightforward approach to know who misshaped a request when sent erroneously to a customer.
On the head of that, since the marks are pre-print, it's impossible to confirm through programming on the outbound that a shipment is right. You need to believe that your group is pressing requests effectively, which is ensured to cause issues in any case. There is additionally the likelihood that marks can be twofold printed or not printed at all since names are prepared, and afterward, a PDF is made to print orders. This has been costly for us numerous events, which is not preventable regardless of who you have published. Because of the way that Shipstation is cloud-based, this can cause issues with preparing speeds. We have seen hang-ups (particularly on Mondays) that drive the entire group to be eased back down due. The other problem with a cloud-based framework is the absence of adaptability for Shipstation to modify how you might want it. If changes are caused, they must be made universally, which can take some time or basically can't occur by and large.

Littmann reviews
Do you know what objective tinnitus is? The subcutaneous fat under your skin is just one type of stored fat in your body - the other is visceral fat, which accumulates under your abdominal wall around your organs. Visceral fat creates that firm "beer belly" look, because it pushes your abdominal wall outward. Carrying excess visceral fat increases chronic inflammation because the fat secretes pro-inflammatory hormones into your bloodstream. Subcutaneous fat, on the other hand, doesn't have the same pro-inflammatory effects as visceral fat. So while subcutaneous fat can make you look soft and out of shape, it doesn't pose the same level of health risk as visceral fat. As one might expect, unless it is what a clinician does all day, handling a two-headed stethoscope is cumbersome and, in the worst of situations, just plain hard. While Littman has tried to make the design somewhat compact, it is still a somewhat awkward listening experience. And while this teaching stethoscope does have adequate length, two heads listening to one diaphragm can lead to the inevitable invasion of personal space during a teaching experience. Nonetheless, the teaching stethoscope does have its place in the world, and the 3M Littman Classic II Teaching Stethoscope is one to check out. We are growing quickly and are excited to help many more physicians, staff members, and clinics receive great customer service. We have only become successful Littmann brand as you have made us, so we hope to keep paying the favor forward with great cost reduction, good quality services, and great relationships. The main purpose of prior authorization is to control indiscriminate medical prescriptions. In other words, the practice of recommending redundant treatment and expensive medicines, when economical alternatives are available, is countered by prior authorization, by checking the extent of insurance coverage of the patient. It is also useful in avoiding medications that are not safe to use for all and sundry. Apart from saving the cost and danger of unknown and ill-fated drugs, prior auth also goes a long way in saving the time of revenue recovery by filing and furnishing only those medical prescriptions which are allowed and covered under the insurance plan. However, if pre-auth is attempted by non-professionals like doctors and their staff, it can be a huge time and cost consuming affair. Hence the role of efficient medical billing practices who can afford the same at minimum cost and time. Littmann Stethoscopes are used by many different professionals, such as physicians and veterinarians, to assess both human patients and animals. Using a stethoscope, doctors, veterinarians, and other health professionals can listen to various human and animal body sounds to help diagnose or treat various conditions.

The mass media are thus instruments for Baudrillard of a "cold seduction" whose narcissistic charm consists of a manipulative self-seduction in which we enjoy the play of lights, shadows, dots, and events in our own mind as we change channels or media and plug into the variety of networks - media, computer, information - that surround us and that allow us to become modulators and controllers of an overwhelming panoply of sights, sounds, Littmann Classic information, and events. In this sense, media have a chilling effect (which is why Baudrillard allows McLuhan's "cool" to become downright "cold") which freeze individuals into functioning as terminals of media and communication networks who become involved as part and parcel of the very apparatus of communication. The subject, then, becomes transformed into an object as part of a nexus of information and communication networks. Some may not be aware of guidelines that we clean our stethoscopes in between patients, as this was not something we were originally taught,” said lead author JĂŒrgen L. Holleck, MD, ACP Member, a hospitalist at Veterans Affairs Connecticut Healthcare System in West Haven and assistant professor at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven. Surveying clinicians on their beliefs around stethoscope hygiene, his group found that forgetfulness, time constraints, and limited access to supplies were perceived barriers. Auscultation (based on the Latin verb auscultare "to listen") is listening to the internal sounds of the body, usually using a stethoscope Auscultation is performed for the purposes of examining the circulatory and respiratory systems ( heart and breath sounds ), as well as the gastrointestinal system (bowel sounds). Various online medical equipment stores offer discounts and refurbished equipment which on the surface may sound like a good deal but don't you want the security and piece of mind of knowing something is working and is not someone elses discarded used equipment which may not work properly or have the durability and functionality of new medical equipment. Shopping online will enable you to compare products and prices with just a few clicks of a button; saving you time and money. littmann classic iii tubing First, think about why you need a Littmann Stethoscope. Are you a doctor or nurse, training to be one, or working in a similar healthcare setting? If so, you'll need a professional-grade stethoscope, but even then you'll find various options to choose from. For instance, some stethoscopes are designed for the field of cardiology, while others are for general use. Your new Littmann Electronic Stethoscope Model 4100 is designed to give you a very comfortable, acoustically sealed ear fit. Notice that the eartubes are permanently set at an angle to accommodate the typical anatomy of the ear canal. The eartips should point in a forward direction as you insert them into your ear canals.

Paneradventure dealing with insurance
M: Hi, I’ve been trying to get this pre auth approved for 2 months
can you explain what the hold up is?
W: I do apologize. Is this for a new or existing prescription?
M: Existing.
W: Ah yes, there it is. It doesn’t look like anything has been submitted.
M: My doctor’s office submitted it again a week ago

W: Hmmm
 let me look
Oh I see something here. They needed permission to submit the form.
M: They needed permission?
W: Yes, it looks like we just needed to give them permission.
M: You needed to give them permission to submit the form that you asked them to submit?
W: Yes ma’am.
M: What does it take to give them permission to submit a form that you asked them to submit?
W: I just needed to click a box.
M: Click a box?
W: Yes ma’am, like on the computer.
M: I understand what that means. I’m trying to understand why it was done before you asked for it to be submitted.
W: I do apologize
Sometimes these things just happen.
M: (internally screaming)

W: Ok, it looks like everything is all set now.
M: All set for them to submit the form you asked them to submit?
W: No ma’am, you’re all approved.
M: Because you clicked the box in 0.7 seconds?
W: Yes ma’am. Well, because your provider submitted the necessary documents.
M: Which you received after you clicked the box?
W: Yes ma’am

M: Great

W: Is there anything else I can help you with today, ma’am?
M: Is there a box you can check to fix the whole system?
W: Unfortunately there is not
.
M: Then no
. I’m good.

GSoC logs (June 7–21)
To brief you into what I’m upto, The project is to develop an extension to oCIS that provides Jupyter notebook support in the ownCloud Infinite Scale platform(oCIS). Essentially, a user can preview Jupyter notebooks in the pheonix client itself and open it in SWAN. ** **
oCIS is a collection of services working together. Any extension we build is essentially a service and is similar to those residing in oCIS monorepo and built with go-micro.
Some services have a UI. Some don’t (Eg. thumbnails, wopiserver). These UIs are extended from ownCloud/web(pheonix) the client of oCIS written in Vue.js.
Find my project proposal here.
Jun 1
Synced all repos and ran ocis and phoenix.
Ocis isn’t running.
Okay, let’s try the ocis-simple flavour as mentioned in the docs.
Following https://owncloud.dev/ocis/development/extensions/ Inside ocis-extension-workshop/ocis
TAGS=simple make generate build cd ocis make build
Build failed.
Not generating build in ocis/ocis/
“Error - make: *** No rule to make target ‘build’.
cd into ocis/ directory and make build
"error":“unable to register services: rgrpc: grpc service usershareprovider could not be started, : error loading the file containing the shares: error decoding data from json: json: cannot unmarshal object into Go struct field jsonEncoding.shares of type string”
https://github.com/owncloud/ocis/issues/83  HARD TO FOLLOW. CONFUSED IF I NEED OCIS_SIMPLE AT ALL
Tried following the instructions anyway - FAILED AGAIN
make: *** No rule to make target 'build’. Stop.
 https://github.com/owncloud/ocis/issues/177#issuecomment-758545224  Nooo
Check through rest of issues to see what happened to ocis-simple.
Found nothing. ASSUMPTION: ocis-simple is dead. Enough with ocis-simple. Try to work with all of ocis.
June 2
I can try to make ocis-simple.
ocis-simple starts the same services as:
bin/ocis micro bin/ocis web bin/ocis hello bin/ocis reva
So kill all the other services.
./bin/ocis kill glauth && ./bin/ocis kill graph && ./bin/ocis kill graph-explorer && ./bin/ocis kill idp && ./bin/ocis kill ocs && ./bin/ocis kill onlyoffice && ./bin/ocis kill proxy && ./bin/ocis kill settings && ./bin/ocis kill storage-authbasic && ./bin/ocis kill storage-authbearer && ./bin/ocis kill storage-frontend && ./bin/ocis kill storage-gateway && ./bin/ocis kill storage-groupsprovider && ./bin/ocis kill storage-home && ./bin/ocis kill storage-metadata && ./bin/ocis kill storage-public-link && ./bin/ocis kill storage-sharing && ./bin/ocis kill storage-users && ./bin/ocis kill storage-users-provider && ./bin/ocis kill store && ./bin/ocis kill thumbnails && ./bin/ocis kill webdav
Failed terribly.
Some of those services need others to work.
Trying to kill one by one with my intuitive priority list.
What exactly is idp? What’s ldap?
Something to do with auth.
Okay, let’s work with ocis itself.
Why isn’t it building suddenly? Look through commits afterwards.
Login failing. “Invalid credentials”  Anything to do with this? https://github.com/owncloud/ocis/issues/1887
"Unexpected HTTP response: 500. Please check your connection and try again.“ message in client and in logs - {“level”:“error”,“service”:“glauth”,“error”:“{"id”:“go.micro.client”,“code”:408,“detail”:“context deadline exceeded”,“status”:“Request Timeout”}”,“handler”:“ocis”,“username”:“idp”,“binddn”:“cn=idp,ou=sysusers,dc=example,dc=org”,“src”:{“IP”:“127.0.0.1”,“Port”:50212,“Zone”:“”},“time”:“2021-06-02T19:46:13+05:30”,“message”:“Login failed”} {“level”:“error”,“service”:“idp”,“error”:“ldap identifier backend logon connect error: LDAP Result Code 49 “Invalid Credentials”: ”,“time”:“2021-06-02T19:46:13+05:30”,“message”:“identifier failed to logon with backend”} {“level”:“info”,“service”:“proxy”,“method”:“POST”,“path”:“POST”,“from”:“[::1]:44172”,“time”:“2021-06-02T19:46:28+05:30”,“message”:“access-log”} {“level”:“error”,“service”:“glauth”,“error”:“{“id”:“go.micro.client”,“code”:408,“detail”:“context deadline exceeded”,“status”:“Request Timeout”}”,“handler”:“ocis”,“username”:“idp”,“binddn”:“cn=idp,ou=sysusers,dc=example,dc=org”,“src”:{“IP”:“127.0.0.1”,“Port”:50220,“Zone”:“”},“time”:“2021-06-02T19:46:33+05:30”,“message”:“Login failed”} {“level”:“error”,“service”:“idp”,“error”:“ldap identifier backend logon connect error: LDAP Result Code 49 “Invalid Credentials”: ”,“time”:“2021-06-02T19:46:33+05:30”,“message”:“identifier failed to logon with backend”} {“level”:“info”,“service”:“proxy”,“method”:“POST”,“path”:“POST”,“from”:“[::1]:44172”,“time”:“2021-06-02T19:47:07+05:30”,“message”:“access-log”} {“level”:“error”,“service”:“glauth”,“error”:“{“id”:“go.micro.client”,“code”:408,“detail”:“context deadline exceeded”,“status”:“Request Timeout”}”,“handler”:“ocis”,“username”:“idp”,“binddn”:“cn=idp,ou=sysusers,dc=example,dc=org”,“src”:{“IP”:“127.0.0.1”,“Port”:50256,“Zone”:“”},“time”:“2021-06-02T19:47:12+05:30”,“message”:“Login failed”} {“level”:“error”,“service”:“idp”,“error”:“ldap identifier backend logon connect error: LDAP Result Code 49 “Invalid Credentials”: ”,“time”:“2021-06-02T19:47:12+05:30”,“message”:“identifier failed to logon with backend”}
Okay, so IDP let’s you authenticate to ocis. It uses OpenID Connect. (Read about it later.)
Okay, I should dig into what’s going on in authentication.
June 3
cd into ocis/ directory and make build
"error":“unable to register services: rgrpc: grpc service usershareprovider could not be started, : error loading the file containing the shares: error decoding data from json: json: cannot unmarshal object into Go struct field jsonEncoding.shares of type string”
Retry - failed
Retry after syncing. - failed
There was a recent release, following release notes instructions. - failed again
Last straw - delete /var/tmp/ocis altogether
make generate && cd ocis && make build
Build happened with couple warnings. Okay, fixed. Ocis is up and running.
Trying to setup ocis-hello. Okay, there’s this boilr tool to bootstrap an ocis-extension template.
I might have underestimated the frontend part. There’s a markdown example in the docs.
Checked markdown app in phoenix. Didn’t understand much. We’ll see.
June 5
I now have a vague idea about some important services in ocis. A big picture.
Trying to setup ocis-hello.
Trying to install boilr.
Installation failed. Some sort of $GOPATH issue.
Okay, turns out my go installation wasn’t properly done.
Followed https://golang.org/doc/install
boilr installation failed again. boilr: command not found
I’m losing interest in this. Let’s just try working on ocis-hello fork until I figure this out.
Both produces same code, and I guess I can just replace all variable names.
June 6
New issues.
looping state after login - UNSURE why it’s happening.
Okay, only happens randomly. But why?
“Authentication failed” on trying http://localhost:9100/#/hello bc I wasn’t redirected.
“Missing config” feedback.
Copied example.json to config.json in ocis-hello/config
make clean && make generate build
Rerun ocis-hello
Still not redirecting to http://localhost:9100/#/hello, so manually trying.
Still Authentication failed
Try yarn build again. still nothing.
Wait, it’s not supposed to redirect to localhost:9100.
A summerised blog post at the end of gsoc period.
Week #1 ( June 7-13 )
Jun 09
Following configuration-with-ocis.md.
Added respective config in ocis proxy and phoenix. - Still failing.
Rerun with phoenix from ocis monorepo itself. After changing config. - failed again.
Should I add ocis-hello in apps property of web-config?  Nop.
June 10
Ping the api with postman.
So the service is actually working. Atleast the http api.
Not sure if the grpc api is working. Is there some client like postman or curl for a grpc api?
There are tools in vscode. And this https://github.com/fullstorydev/grpcurl
No requests are received at hello-server from pheonix only  Other clients are able to send requests.
hello.js is served at localhost:9200/hello.js
Is the proxy working right?
Jun 11
Meet with mentors.
Need to work on my communication skills.
Lukas mentioned a mistake in the config docs. It was in the proxy config. Makes sense now.
I forgot what he said. Should’ve recorded the whole thing ;_;
Oh, there’s an issue.
Okay, still not working.
Even hello.js not served now.
Week #2 (June 14-20)
June 15 - Tuesday
I was finally able to set up ocis-hello.
The proxy wasn’t picking up the config.
Had to start it seperately like so,
sudo PROXY_CONFIG_FILE=/home/anaswaratrajan/cern/owncloud/ocis/proxy/config/proxy-example.json ./bin/proxy
Fixed ocis-hello - a typo in web-config
June 16 - Wednesday
Customised ocis-hello working clone to ocis-jupyter
Why isn't draw-io running again? mediaviewer is working. wait, markdown also not working. I thought they came with pheonix without need for further setup.
June 17 - Thursday
started a fresh remote repository ocis-jupyter and committed everything so far.
How do I add a new file type ipynb. Wait, I don’t need to. Phoenix offers ways to do that. I just need to specify it in the appinfo object. Cool.
How do I add new file actions - Open in SWAN, Open for preview. Again specify in appinfo.
It seems I’m extending the appinfo object in the web-runtime.
So appinfo and other objects in app.js is being appended to the main objects in web-runtime.
Wait, appended? What’s it called when objects are merged together with Object.assign?
Okay, all apps inside phoenix seem to be doing the same.
Not just appinfo, some other objects as well, okay, what exactly is web-runtime?
I’m able to add new file menu actions but in the sidebar, they just appear as “Open in OCIS-JUPYTER”
Why is this happening?
Let’s dig into web-runtime.
That was a bad idea. I should get their help.
Just look into existing apps in phoenix.
Files app and markdown-editor seems understandable.
Why isn’t draw-io running? Low priority check later.
Read more into docs.
Ocis is huge.
June 18
Reading docs again.
Going through web-runtime again.
I can’t add multiple file actions “Open in SWAN” and “Open in Preview”
Both coming up as “Open in ocis-jupyter”.
So these are file actions.
Trying to make sense of the codebase.
Going through some js fatigue.
Going through web-runtime. I’m probably wasting time with this.
See how file handlers work again.

Best Custom Research Paper Writing Service
Best Custom Research Paper Writing Service IMPORT_PATH specifies a directory in which to look for .proto recordsdata when resolving import directives. Multiple import directories may be specified by passing the --proto_path option multiple instances; they will be searched in order. -IIMPORT_PATH can be utilized as a brief form of --proto_path. // This file relies on plugins to generate service code. Setting any member of the oneof mechanically clears all the other members. You can verify which worth in a oneof is ready using a special case() or WhichOneof() technique, relying on your chosen language. If you have a message with many elective fields and where at most one subject shall be set on the identical time, you can implement this conduct and save reminiscence by using the oneof characteristic. Changing a single optional worth right into a member of a brand new oneof is protected and binary suitable. Moving multiple elective fields into a brand new oneof could also be secure if you are positive that no code units more than separately. Moving any fields into an present oneof isn't secure. It’s turn out to be an invaluable a part of my writing workflow and I do believe it'll for you too. Anything that comes from a type of ‘eureka’ moments goes into Drafts. More typically than not it’s completely different points that I would like to make in a specific article. These claims are avaialble on the auth.token variable in your guidelines. It is often helpful to structure your database in a method that makes writing Rules easier. One widespread pattern for storing person information in the Realtime Database is to retailer all your users in a single users node whose kids are the uid values for every person. If you needed to restrict access to this data such that solely the logged-in consumer can see their very own knowledge, your rules would look one thing like this. Firebase Authentication integrates with the Firebase Realtime Database to let you control knowledge entry on a per-consumer foundation using situations. Although you can't use rules as filters, you'll be able to restrict entry to subsets of information by using query parameters in your rules. expressions in your rules to grant read or write access based mostly on query parameters. Using the predefined variables root, knowledge, and newData, we are able to entry any path as it would exist earlier than or after a write event. The predefined information variable is used to discuss with the data earlier than a write operation takes place. Developers creating their own customized authentication tokens can optionally add claims to these tokens. This free service can be used to generate individual barcodes or called through URL's to include inline PNG or JPEG images immediately into your documents. You can easily share your custom exercises with friends and receive their favourite workouts in return. This provides you more choices for various your routines, so you'll be able to have enjoyable and maintain boredom at bay while receiving positive suggestions that helps you keep energetic and attain your objectives. You can get as inventive as you want, and build workout routines with all yourfavorite workouts and variations, while additionally including particulars like units, reps and time. Each routine you create is saved into My Routines, where you can see stats like energy burned and the entire quantity of weight lifted. Some options are file-stage choices, that means they need to be written on the prime-degree scope, not inside any message, enum, or service definition. Some choices are message-level choices, which means they need to be written inside message definitions. Some choices are field-level choices, meaning they need to be written inside subject definitions. Options can also be written on enum types, enum values, oneof fields, service types, and service methods; nonetheless, no helpful choices at present exist for any of these. Oneof fields are like elective fields except all the fields in a oneof share memory, and at most one field can be set on the identical time. Once a consumer authenticates, the authvariable in your Realtime Database Security Rules guidelines shall be populated with the consumer's info. This information includes their unique identifier as well as linked account data, corresponding to a Facebook id or an email handle, and different data. If you implement a customized auth supplier, you'll be able to add your individual fields to your user's auth payload. One of the most common security rule patterns is controlling entry primarily based on the person's authentication state. For instance, your app might need to enable solely signed-in customers to write data. The dynamic $ variables can be utilized in parallel with fixed path names. In this instance, we're using the $different variable to declare a .validate rule that ensures thatwidget has no youngsters apart from title and colour.

I can vouch for White Rabbit Express--I’ve used them several times in the past, as well as recently, and so far the only “issue” was a limited preorder and they were swamped with requests at the time (they had a notice on-site alerting people to a possible issue for time-sensitive items, I chose to risk it anyway instead of finding a different service) so they were unable to do so before orders filled up which honestly is a problem anybody could have.
I actually currently have several bits of TWEWY merch from the JP SE store shipping out to me from them, gettin’ some of the keyrings and stuff.  The nice thing is if you place more than one order with them and those orders arrive at their warehouse close together they do offer consolidated shipping--cut my shipping down by half.
Also you can use credit card or paypal.
Some details about how it works and such below the cut:
(And obviously experiences may vary--this is just based off my personal experiences both recently and some years in the past before they overhauled their website)
You’re able to get a rough quote right away, though the actual price may end up being varied a bit.  In my experience, I ended up paying less than the quoted price every time because I opt to pre-authorize domestic shipping charges and if the actual shipping from the seller to WRE is less than the pre-auth amount you get refunded the difference.
You do need to pay up-front for cost of the items (NOT international shipping) in order for them to purchase but they’re also very prompt about communicating and issuing refunds not just for “hey domestic shipping was less than the pre-auth amount” but if something happens and they have to cancel an order on their end.
(So that pre-order that filled up?  Alerted within a few days and the refund was issued immediately upon them alerting me.  No hassle on my end at all.  Entirely painless aside from the disappointment of orders filling up which just happens from time to time.)
You only pay international shipping once the items have arrived and you tell them to ship them out to you--that’s the point you can consolidate if you have multiple packages.  IIRC, you can have the items stored free up to 30 days or so?  They have that info available, but it’s very useful.  (Like I said, saved me half what I expected to pay in international shipping)
If you live in the USA, currently they only offer DHL and Fed-Ex due to the pandemic and shipping restrictions, and those are pricy because they arrive within a few days of shipping (unless delayed), but under non-pandemic conditions they offer a variety of shipping options and other countries may have different options available.
Day 5012/142
ICYMI, the Japanese Square Enix store has a bunch of TWEWY merch available, along with the special editions of NTWEWY: https://store.jp.square-enix.com/
However, unless you live in Japan/own a Japanese credit card (even a proxy service probably won't be enough here as AFAIK it blocks foreign credit cards), you probably won't be able to order without the help of some company/service that buys the item for you. For that, you can try a site like https://www.whiterabbitexpress.com/, or something similar (they actually may not be able to order the special edition for you due to Square Enix's order limit on those), though please note that I do not take any responsibility for the usage/trustworthiness of any such site—I'm just putting this info out for any super-fans like me that might want some of the special TWEWY/NTWEWY items for sale.
Lastly, if you just want a few of the special NTWEWY special edition items, you can purchase that from the N.A. store here, but keep in mind the note it has on what it includes.
It's generally all a bit expensive, but I hope this info is of help to someone!

API Authentication With Node.js
Building APIs is important; however, building secured APIs is also very important. In this tutorial, you learn how to build a secured API in Node.js. The authentication will be handled using tokens. Let's dive in.
Cookies vs. Tokens
Let's talk a little about cookies and tokens, to understand how they work and the differences between them.
Cookie-based authentication keeps an authentication record or session both on the server and the client side. In other words, it is stateful. The server keeps track of an active session in the database, while a cookie is created on the front-end to hold a session identifier.
In token-based authentication, every server request is accompanied by a token which is used by the server to verify the authenticity of the request. The server does not keep a record of which users are logged in. Token-based authentication is stateless.
In this tutorial, you will implement token-based authentication.
Setting Up an Express App
First, create a folder where you will be working from, and initialize npm. You can do so by running:
npm init -y
Use the package.json file I have below. It contains all the dependencies you will be making use of to build this application.
#package.json { "name": "api-auth", "version": "1.0.0", "description": "", "main": "index.js", "scripts": { "start-dev": "nodemon app.js", "test": "echo \"Error: no test specified\" && exit 1" }, "keywords": [], "author": "", "license": "ISC", "dependencies": { "bcryptjs": "^2.4.3", "body-parser": "^1.17.2", "express": "^4.15.4", "express-promise-router": "^2.0.0", "joi": "^10.6.0", "jsonwebtoken": "^8.0.0", "mongoose": "^4.11.10", "morgan": "^1.8.2", "nodemon": "^1.12.0", "passport": "^0.4.0", "passport-jwt": "^3.0.0", "passport-local": "^1.0.0" } }
Now you can install the dependencies by running:
npm install
You can go grab a cup of coffee as npm does its magic; you'll need it for this ride!
Create a new file called app.js. In this file, you will require some packages and do a bit of setup. Here is how it should look.
#app.js // 1 const express = require('express') const morgan = require('morgan') const bodyParser = require('body-parser') const mongoose = require('mongoose') const routes = require('./routes/users') // 2 mongoose.Promise = global.Promise mongoose.connect('mongodb://localhost:27017/api-auth') const app = express() // 3 app.use(morgan('dev')) app.use(bodyParser.json()) // 4 app.use('/users', routes) // 5 const port = process.env.PORT || 3000 app.listen(port) console.log(`Server listening at ${port}`)
This imports all dependencies you installed using NPM. Here you are requiring express, morgan, body-parser, and mongoose. Morgan is an HTTP logger for Node.js. Here, morgan will be used to log HTTP requests to your console. So you see something like this when requests are made: POST /users/signin 401 183.635 ms - -. You also require your routes (which will be created soon) and set it to routes.
Here you are setting mongoose to make use of ES6 promises.
Set up morgan and body-parser middleware. Body-parser makes incoming requests available in your req.body property.
Set up routes. With this, whenever a request is made to /users, the routes file which you required above and set to routes will be used.
You set port to the port of your environment or 3000 and then pass it to the listen function which is called on the app to start up your server. When the server starts, a log is sent to the console to show that the server has started.
It's time to get our model up and running.
Map Out the User Model
Your User model will do a few things:
Create a user schema.
Hash the user password.
Validate the password.
Time to see what that should look like in real code. Create a folder called models, and in the folder create a new file called user.js. The first thing you want to do is require the dependencies you will be making use of.
The dependencies you will need here include mongoose and bcryptjs.
You will need bcryptjs for the hashing of a user password. We will come to that, but for now just require the dependencies like so.
#models/user.js const mongoose = require('mongoose') const bcrypt = require('bcryptjs')
With that out of the way, you want to create your user schema. This is where mongoose comes in handy. Your schema will map to a MongoDB collection, defining how each document within the collection should be shaped. Here is how the schema for your current model should be structured.
#models/user.js ... const userSchema = new mongoose.Schema({ email: { type: String, required: true, unique: true, lowercase: true }, password: { type: String, required: true } })
In the above, you have just two fields: email and password. You are making both fields a type of String, and requiring them. The email also has an option of unique, as you will not want to different users signing up with the same email, and it is also important that the email is in lowercase.
The next part of your model will handle the hashing of the user password.
#models/user.js ... userSchema.pre('save', async function (next) { try { const salt = await bcrypt.genSalt(10) const passwordhash = await bcrypt.hash(this.password, salt) this.password = passwordhash next() } catch (error) { next(error) } })
The code above makes of bcryptjs to generate a salt. You also use bcryptjs to hash the user password by passing in the user's password and the salt you just generated. The newly hashed password gets stored as the password for the user. The pre hook function ensures this happens before a new record of the user is saved to the database. When the password has been successfully hashed, control is handed to the next middleware using the next() function, else an error is thrown.
Finally, you need to validate user password. This comes in handy when a user wants to sign in, unlike the above which happens for signing up.
In this part, you need to ensure a user who wants to sign in is rightly authenticated. So you create an instance method called isValidPassword(). In this method, you pass in the password the user entered and compare it with the password attributed to that user. The user is found using the email address s/he entered; you will see how this is handled soon. A new error is thrown if one is encountered.
#models/user.js ... userSchema.methods.isValidPassword = async function (newPassword) { try { return await bcrypt.compare(newPassword, this.password) } catch (error) { throw new Error(error) } } module.exports = mongoose.model('User', userSchema)
When that is all set and done, it is important you export the file as a module so it can be rightly required.
Up and Running With Passport
Passport provides a simple way to authenticate requests in Node.js. These requests go through what are called strategies. In this tutorial, you will implement two strategies.
Go ahead and create a file called passport.js in your working directory. Here is what mine looks like.
#passport.js // 1 const passport = require('passport') const JwtStrategy = require('passport-jwt').Strategy const { ExtractJwt } = require('passport-jwt') const LocalStrategy = require('passport-local').Strategy const { JWT_SECRET } = require('./config/index') const User = require('./models/user') // 2 passport.use(new JwtStrategy({ jwtFromRequest: ExtractJwt.fromHeader('authorization'), secretOrKey: JWT_SECRET }, async (payload, done) => { try { const user = User.findById(payload.sub) if (!user) { return done(null, false) } done(null, user) } catch(err) { done(err, false) } })) // 3 passport.use(new LocalStrategy({ usernameField: 'email' }, async (email, password, done) => { try { const user = await User.findOne({ email }) if (!user) { return done(null, false) } const isMatch = await user.isValidPassword(password) if (!isMatch) { return done(null, false) } done(null, user) } catch (error) { done(error, false) } }))
Require dependencies installed using NPM.
Creates a new instance of JwtStrategy. This object receives two important arguments: secretOrKey and jwtFromRequest. The secretOrKey will be the JWT secret key which you will create shortly. jwtFromRequest defines the token that will be sent in the request. In the above, the token will be extracted from the header of the request. Next, you do a validation to look for the right user, and an error gets thrown if the user is not found.
Create a new instance of LocalStrategy. By default, the LocalStrategy uses only the username and password parameters. Since you are making use of email, you have to set the usernameField to email. You use the email to find the user, and when the user is found, the isValidPassword() function which you created in the user model gets called. This method compares the password entered with the one stored in the database. The comparison is done using the bcryptjs compared method. Errors are thrown if any is encountered, else the user is returned.
Before you jump to setting your controllers and routes, you need to create the JWT secret key mentioned above. Create a new folder called config, and a file inside called index.js. You can make the file look like this.
#config/index.js module.exports = { JWT_SECRET: 'apiauthentication' }
User Controllers
The user controller gets called whenever a request is made to your routes. Here is how it should look.
#controllers/users.js // 1 const JWT = require('jsonwebtoken') const User = require('../models/user') const { JWT_SECRET } = require('../config/index') // 2 signToken = ((user) => { return JWT.sign({ iss: 'ApiAuth', sub: user.id, iat: new Date().getTime(), exp: new Date().setDate(new Date().getDate() + 1) }, JWT_SECRET) }) module.exports = { // 3 signup: async (req, res, next) => { console.log('UsersController.signup() called') const { email, password } = req.value.body const foundUser = await User.findOne({ email }) if (foundUser) { return res.status(403).json({ error: 'Email is already in use' }) } const newUser = new User({ email, password }) await newUser.save() const token = signToken(newUser) res.status(200).json({ token }) }, // 4 signin: async (req, res, next) => { const token = signToken(req.user) res.status(200).json({ token }) }, // 5 secret: async (req, res, next) => { res.json({ secret: "resource" }); } }
Require dependencies.
Here you are creating a new token for the user. To create the token, you need to create the payload, which contains the claims. Here you set the issuer, subject, expiration, and issued at. The creation of this token is saved in a function called signToken().
This is the sign-up action that gets called when creating a new user. The email and password are obtained from the body of the request. You need to check if a user with the same email exists, to ensure two users are not signed up with same email address. When that has been verified, the signToken() function gets called with the new user as an argument to create a new token.
This action handles the signing in of users. Here you simply pass in the user who is trying to sign in to the signToken() function that creates a new token.
You are using this function for a secret route that can only be accessed by users who have been authenticated.
Setting Up Routes
Before you create the main routes for your application, you will first create a route helper. Go ahead and create a new folder called helpers, and a file called routeHelpers.js. Here is how it should look.
#helpers/routeHelpers.js const Joi = require('joi') module.exports = { validateBody: (schema) => { return (req, res, next) => { const result = Joi.validate(req.body, schema) if (result.error) { return res.status(400).json(result.error) } if (!req.value) { req.value = {} } req.value['body'] = result.value next() } }, schemas: { authSchema: Joi.object().keys({ email: Joi.string().email().required(), password: Joi.string().required() }) } }
Here you are validating the body of requests sent by users. This will ensure that users enter the right details when signing up or in. The details to be validated are obtained from req.body.
The routes of your application will take this format.
#routes/users.js const express = require('express') const router = require('express-promise-router')() const passport = require('passport') const passportConf = require('../passport') const { validateBody, schemas } = require('../helpers/routeHelpers') const UsersController = require('../controllers/users') router.route('/signup') .post(validateBody(schemas.authSchema), UsersController.signup) router.route('/signin') .post(validateBody(schemas.authSchema), passport.authenticate('local', { session: false }), UsersController.signin) router.route('/secret') .get(passport.authenticate('jwt', { session: false }), UsersController.secret) module.exports = router
Save it in routes/users.js. In the above, you are authenticating each request, and then calling the respective controller action.
Now you can start up your server by running:
npm run start-dev
Open up postman and play around with your newly created API.
Conclusion
You can go further to integrate new features to the API. A simple Book API with CRUD actions with routes that need to be authenticated will do. In the tutorial, you learned how to build a fully fledged authenticated API.
If you’re looking for additional JavaScript resources to study or to use in your work, check out what we have available in the Envato marketplace.

Was bored at work, so got a guy fired and possibly sent to prison for fraud.
warning: long story.
I work the night shift as a receptionist at a hotel in Norway, and most nights are spent watching Netflix/playing games. Last summer was really slow and I also worked a lot extra, so I ran out of stuff to watch and games to play. One night I got a mail from "Scooter". He wanted to book a room for almost 20 days. I just had to send him the price and confirmation that we had rooms available, and he would then send me his credit card info for me to pre-charge. Normally we just delete these kinds of mail, but I was bored out of my mind, so I responded with an offer for around 2k$ for the entire stay. Also made sure to inform him that he could cancel for free up until the day of arrival.
This is probably the most common fraud attempt in the Hotel/travel industry. Unlike most businesses, we are able to charge credit/debit cards with only the card number and exp date. No need for a pin code, cvc or other auth methods. Our software also allow us deposit money directly to local and international bank accounts by using the card number. Because of this, shitheads like Scooter will try to prepay with stolen/skimmed cards, but then cancel the booking and asking us to refund the amount to a different card.
A couple of hours after sending him the offer, he responded with a Visa number and told me to charge him as soon as possible. I checked the card with our validation software, and to my big surprise it did not belong to Scooter. (If validation succeeds, it will return with the card owners name 90% of the time) I sent him a new mail stating that the card was declined because of insufficient funds. He quickly replied and gave me a new card to try. Guess what, this one didn't belong to Scooter either. Wasn't even the same person as the first card. By checking the Bin codes, (6 first digits) I found which banks had issued the cards. Not even issued in the same country...
My plan was to just call the banks and inform them of the attempted scam, but there where still several hours before I could go home, so I decided to fuck with Scooter a bit more. Sent him a reply that the second card went through, and also the "reference number" for his stay at our hotel.
As expected, a couple hours later Scooter sent a mail cancelling the order and asked if we could refund the money to a different card, as he had lost his wallet and deactivated the card he paid with. This card was issued from a Polish bank. Not sure why, but Polish bank accounts are often used by people who want to launder money from bitcoins and drugs. You can buy a legit card for around 500$ that is registered to some guy/girl in Poland from darknet.
At this point, Scooter were probably pretty happy about the 2k$ he soon would receive... I replied that it was no problem for me to transfer the $$ to a different card, as long as it was valid. How fun would it be to also cancel his "own" card, so that he had to spend 500$ for a new one? Not. Fun. Enough. In the last mail I wrote that he could send me the card number, but that our e-mail server would go down for maintenance in a few minutes, so my boss would do it on Monday. (It was now Saturday morning, so enough time for the "charged" bank to call us and reverse the transfer) If he needed the money right away, I told him to call the Hotel before I ended my shift @ 07:00. He called almost immediately, and I wrote down the card number and his phone number... Told him I transferred the money, and that it would be in his account by 12:00.
My shift ended, and I went home with all the info Scooter had provided. Wanted to see if I could find out who he was, and ofc this idiot had an open Facebook profile that I found using his phone number... He even listed his address and employer. Looked a bit like the artist Scooter, but with even more fucked up face and spiky hair full of gel. He lived somewhere outside of London, in an area I would describe as a British trailer park. Houses that where nice at some point, but where the owners had spent 0ÂŁ on maintenance since it was built. Thrash everywhere, and broken windows that were boarded up or "fixed" by sealing holes with garbage.
Now to the fun part. According to his FB profile, Scooter worked at a hotel! This meant that he would have access to card information from guests that booked through sites like Booking.com. I called the manager of the hotel, and told him there where reason to believe that one of his employees where trying to commit credit card fraud, and that the cards numbers could belong to their guests. Gave him the name of the people who owned the cards Scooter tried to pay with, and to no surprise both had stayed at the hotel. Told him it was Scooter, and the manager just exploded in anger. Not 100% sure what he said because he was screaming so loud, but I think Scooter wasn't a normal employee. He worked there through some kind of government training program or something.
After talking to the manager, I called both Visa and MasterCard international and told them about Scooters little business venture. Apparently it's pretty easy to check if there are more cards that have been involved in fraud, where the cards also have been used at Hotel Scooter. With his Polish deposit account info, they would also be able to pin it on Scooter if he had been successful in scamming anyone, and sue him for the amount stolen.
The police also called me later to get a statement regarding the whole situation, so I know that the manager reported it to the police. Not sure what happened to Scooter, but according to his Facebook profile, he no longer works at the hotel. (Or anywhere else as far as I can see)
