Hey, it's okay!!! I don't really mention topics like that on my blog, I'm very tame in how I post, so I'll just shyly hide under a readmore for my answer <3

First of all, I don't see selfcest as incest. I think that if someone were to meet a clone of themself and see them as family, they very reasonably could, but that it itself is not a family situation on its own if no one has decided that. It's a "decide it, and it'll be" situation.

I understand that a lot of people are weirded out by selfcest, and I think that's very valid and reasonable, but I'm very used to it so it's just normal to me.

As for whether or not it's worse, I'm sure it can gross someone out WORSE than incest, that's fine, but I really don't believe a completely fictional concept that does not exist in the real world (even if you can get a tiny bit close) is like... morally worse. It's practically clay, you can shape it however you want.

Growing up around the concept of selfcest made me feel better about myself honestly. It's comforting to tell yourself "I love you," and I dealt with my self-worth issues as a kid by making selfcest OCs to process self-love through creation. Knowing that a fictional character could find worth and affection in themself as if looking at someone else always made me wonder if I could do that too, and that's quite possibly the least harmful thing I could have ever had that reaction towards. Whenever I felt bad, I felt more willing to "talk it out" with myself as if I was talking to someone separate, which made it easier to treat myself with kindness.

I also just generally think the word "selfcest" contributes to this ickiness around it, and I do dislike the word, but I try not to think about it much. It probably could have been named better.

in response to the last ask, I feel like the fact that jensen wants to do a revival so bad is because he wasn’t actually fully convinced that it was a good ending, and if kripke was apart of that revival then that shows he wouldn’t leave it at that either. Kripke’s seasons are the most highly favored ones and he does some great stuff with The Boys amongst the obscenity as well so I truly think him and j2m would cook up something we would like. Misha wouldn’t come back if they did cas dirty and jensen is so mentally ill about dean, he would definetly have so much control over what they do with him.

jensen goes back and forth about so many aspects of the show, the ending being one of them, that I find it hard to figure out what he really thinks. And I feel like he does that on purpose because he tries to please everybody who has different opinions, which is especially needed if he wants a revival cuz you need to keep your audience for it to happen. But a big indicator for me as far as the ending goes is his first reaction, and also how he keeps wanting to bring spn back. If it was a truly satisfying ending he wouldn’t have brought dean back in The Winchesters or constantly talked about doing a revival, and it’s not like he REALLY needs a job right now so we can’t use that as a reason why

Indra

- Shy or not, as long as she follows Indra's instructions and doesn't disobey, she's fine. Now, if he asks her to look him in the eyes while he fucks her and she doesn't, or hides her head on his chest after giving him a kiss, the Otsutsuki will get irritated, and end up grabbing her by the cheeks and forcing her face as he wishes. If she doesn't dare to moan or give him the reactions he is looking for when they have sex, he will do it so hard and brutal that (Y/N) will have no choice about her shyness. He will force her out of her shell, whether she likes it or not. Trauma generator, I like to call him.

Madara

- Cute. As I mentioned in some other writing, Madara is fascinated to know he has an intimidating effect on (Y/N). Maybe it's just her natural shy personality, but there's a feeling getting satisfied every time he sees her hiding inside herself because of him, refuses to look him in the eye, or has a hard time speaking her mind. He will take it slow, and not push her, but he will make her suffer. He enjoys making her nervous, invading her personal space and pushing her to her limit before leaving her alone. That sly grin he wears on his face every time he looks her in the eye is a delight.

Tobirama

- No problem, it's the same for him but he doesn't show it. Tobirama is the most awkward person when it comes to emotions, but if there is something he identifies well is shyness and introversion. Belonging to the same group, he allows (Y/N) space and doesn't pressure her, but eventually he is the one who takes the active steps to help them both break through that barrier. He will leave his comfort zone and expects her to do the same for him, helping each other to overcome shyness in the privacy of their relationship and strengthen the bond through respect and patience.

mizu did know how to play. In fact, she wasn’t half bad at it, either it.

she was truly trying to keep the game going for as long as she could.

“I used to play with my sword-father.” she kept her gaze focused on the board, trying to know where you (and she) should place your pieces.

“ah, I see,” you nod your head. “so he taught you, then?”

“yes he did,” mizu murmured.

“well—“ you chuckled, placing your piece directly atop of hers, circling it. “he wasn’t a very good player.”

HotD S02E04

I watched this at 6 in the morning and I have to say that I'm glad I took the risk of ruining my entire day because I loved this episode. It flew by so fast and had me chanting the dragons' names several times. That is not to say that some things weren't questionable or just plain irritating despite actually making sense so lets review:

Daemon was tripping so. hard. These hallucinations are fucking him up real bad and I love it. He's sososososo pathetic. The fucking nerve to just go "Hey, won't you kill your grandfather? It would really help me out." Have fun losing your mind, asshole!

So Alyn and his brother are Corlys' bastards. Corlys gets so little screen time, especially in this second season, and he's still so hateable. At least Otto is funny and a great politician. What does Corlys have? A stubborn refusal to acknowledge his granddaughters despite his wife being denied her inheritance? Anyway, he should have been the one to die instead of Rhaenys.

Alicent, bestie, what the fuck? Not her going around and trying to assuage her guilt by still clinging to the delusion that Viserys might have wanted Aegon to be king. What even is this behavior at this point? Her grandson's death should have confirmed what Otto told her so many years ago - that Rhaenyra pursuing her claim to the throne would kill her children in one way or another. We should be past this by now, my god!

The disrespect to Baela is so unreal. I love that she snapped back. "We StIlL kNoW vErY lItTlE" And without Baela you'd know fucking nothing! The fact that even Rhaenys has to deal with this bullshit and Corlys had to come in after her for everyone to remember their place is just an insult.

Criston haters must be so mad at how he's succeeding despite everyone thinking the odds are against him.

Larys not giving a fuck about Harrenhal is so funny. If he thinks it's useless to them outside of the possibility of it driving Daemon mad, then you know it really is. (I am curious about Larys' feelings on Alys, however.) And the way he bragged about controlling all the finances of Harrenhal. He really drained it and the whole situation back in 1x06 to the fullest, got everything he could and then left the castle and everyone in it to rot.

Aegon at that Small Council meeting, the poor soul! No one gives a shit about him, only enough so to steer him away from messing up their plans. And his brother bullying him back (deservedly so tbh) but I have big question marks about that part. Why would Aegon not know how to speak High Valyrian? This doesn't make sense considering how they later show him being so close and affectionate with Sunfyre. High Valyrian is the only way to control the dragons. Unless Aegon and Sunfyre's bond is so strong that he doesn't even need words to direct his dragon, which is actually such a great implication that I could relinquish my anger about this choice otherwise. For the umpteenth time the writers make choices to make Aegon look bad but the implications just decimate the effect.

Alicent has certainly grown less bothered by Larys or at least learned to hide it better. To be fair it seemed like he'd lost interest in her lately but at the same time, she has been evading him pretty successfully for the last few episodes. Not to the point where he doesn't know everything that's been going on with her but at least enough so that she hasn't had to deal with him. And this conversation was more a veiled communication of the truths they've uncovered rather than her depending on him. I am enthralled with how their dynamic evolves and hope we see a lot more from it. He did run to her first chance he had, though I find it interesting that this conversation is only happening now with Criston out of the way. Alicent's relationship with him is certainly reflecting on the dynamic she has with Larys, much to his chagrin, I'm sure. His behavior towards Alicent is fascinating. He was certainly attacking her, digging into every weakness he noticed, and yet, he validated her "indulgence" and seemed pleased with the conclusions she's reached. It's so obvious he wants to wrest her from her faith and conscience because he identifies with the woman he believes she would be without them. And for the purpose of accomplishing that he's not moving in to decimate her relationship with Criston (tbh they're doing that well enough on their own). He said "It's important that she has sex. Doesn't have to be with me. It just needs to happen to draw her away from clinging to her morals." His obsession with her is so insane and deeply twisted. I can only watch mesmerized. Next they should make him run around trying to fix Alicole, make sure that they're having all the sex. That would be the funniest direction to take this love triangle.

I love how Alys is just toying with Daemon like he's her food. Harrenhal is really not agreeing with him. He is haunted as fuck and it's so funny. Him seeing himself as Aemond especially was 10/10. The implications! Aemond is a kinslayer, who's hurt Rhaenyra the most by taking her child away and the fact that Daemon sees himself as a reflection of that says so much!

Aegon is also having the worst time. The fact that Alicent instantly assumed he's destroyed the books says how much faith she has in his ability to actually consider the consequences of his actions. Unfortunately, I can't defend him because he instantly proved her right about that. However, I believe we're seeing the alternate version of that scene where Alicent found him crying and left play out. This is what would have happened if she'd tried to comfort him back then. She's been angry with him her whole life and it's really been brought to the forefront now when his rash actions have hurt them and she has to face the guilt over her own actions. She's not capable of comforting when she's so angry but while in 2x02 she was looking to avoid hurting him, here she just doesn't care after the realizations of last episode. She's viewing Aegon and his impulsiveness as obstacles (and his temper and recklessness certainly are) but she doesn't care about approaching with care to cultivate the behavior she wants. And I doubt that would work regardless when Aegon has his whole life as proof that whatever he does will never be enough for her but he can't understand the why. He just wants her to love him and he doesn't have all the context of how he - most of all her children - is the embodiment of her pain and suffering. They really are a tragedy and it's heartbreaking. Though, this scene wasn't as bad as I feared. It makes sense for Alicent to act this way despite how frustrating her refusal to deal with her own feelings is. Not to mention the fact that she brought up her own reign with pride and self-confidence. That was more than I could have hoped for!

Jace being so angry with Rhaenyra is the first interesting thing he's ever done but, of course, they refuse to linger more on these feelings and instead give us a bonding moment where Rhaenyra passes down her father's legacy on to Jace. They could have focused a little more on why she waited so long and why he was so angry but I guess we can't have even a little trouble in paradise. I mean, for someone who wasn't sure she believed the prophecy, she sure made it out to be her whole reason to fight for her claim. It's almost like she's in denial about the fact that she's not doing this out of noble intent but because she wants the crown and the vindication of being queen when so many are against it (which doesn't at all mesh with the sense and wisdom they've tried to imbue her with). Her and Alicent are such mirrors when it comes to that.

Rhaenyra wanting to go into battle herself is legit on the same level of bullshit that Aegon is pulling, regardless of motivations. It's almost like she was hoping to get killed so she won't have to bear the consequences of engaging in this war. Again, I know what they intended for this scene to accomplish but it doesn't really do her any favors. If anything, she should have sent more than one dragon to ensure victory. You know Aemond has Vhagar and you're willing to walk into that alone and later send someone else alone? Girl, be serious! It's just bad strategy.

Sunfyre being so playful with Aegon is the cutest thing we've seen on this show. He's like a big puppy. I was, however, literally yelling at Aegon to stop drinking and he did... only to go driving while fucking wasted. What was he thinking? (I know what he was thinking but, god, he's never beating those reckless fool allegations.)

Aegon being grounded both figuratively and literally so fast was just painful to watch. The way that Sunfyre was screaming in pain hurt me personally and Aegon's attitude changed from "I'll show them all. Fuck Aemond in particular!" to "Thank the Seven, my bro is here to bail my ass out of trouble" to "Fuck, I'm cooked!" so swiftly that you know he was regretting probably all of his life choices. He really doesn't use High Valyrian to communicate with Sunfyre, though. The only word in High Valyrian he used was "dracarys". His part in the battle wasn't long but I sure am living for these implications like I said above.

I do hate what they've done with Aemond. If he'd joined sooner, Aegon probably wouldn't have gotten so badly injured. He certainly had it coming but that makes it practically three times Aemond was looking to have him killed in the span of about as many minutes. But the last scene in the woods with his sword drawn? Wow, okay! They decided to really go in full force on that kinslayer title and I just don't think it makes sense. Not after the way Aemond felt guilty even for killing Luke. Aegon bullying him for a minute surely wouldn't have set him off that badly if he felt regret over killing the boy that slashed out his eye. They're just trying to make you hate Aegon by making everyone around him hate him.

Criston scrambling to do PR and fix their image was so funny, though. You know his inner monologue is just "Shit shit fuck shit" but externally he's giving a motivational speech. XD This is what I wanted to see from him being Hand - having to deal with Aegon's whims. While I'd say he failed there, it wasn't like he could do anything once Aegon was on his dragon, and otherwise his plan was pretty good so... Criston keeps winning, I guess.

I love the way that it was shown how Rhaenys is more experienced than both Aegon and Aemond. Vhagar also took some damage in that fight that would have been more fatal if she just wasn't a whole, entire mountain. But at the same time, it wasn't just Vhagar's size that won this for Aemond (though that certainly did most of the heavy lifting). This man rides the largest dragon in the world and he managed to hide it in the midst of battle and ambush his opponent. That certainly took a little strategical thought if nothing else. And then Vhagar's size did all the rest. The boys certainly are not experts in dragon battle and it will be interesting to see them proceed from here on out, see if they've learned anything from this or not. I'm sad to see Rhaenys go so soon. She should have gone back to Dragonstone when she could. Rhaenyra certainly took a big loss with that.

The way I just knew Criston would get knocked out. I was yelling at him to watch where he's going... and he didn't. He survived AND won the battle but at what cost? The way that soldier crumbled to dust under his touch was bloodcurdling. And Criston's prominent worry for Aegon might be the first time it occurred to him that this war could take away the people he loves.

P.S. Why was Aegon wearing his crown on top of his helm? Unless that's another crown that's specifically designed to go with the armor, it shouldn't fit him both with and without the helm.

Your foot taps impatiently on the floor. You’ve been waiting for too long.

There’s no doubt about it now: you’ve been stood up. With an irritated sigh, you get up from your table in the cafe, gather your things, and leave. You get to work in a bit of a miserable mood. This entire thing was just a slap in the face.

You hurry into the Waystar office, expression matching your abysmal mood. You get to your office and immediately throw yourself into your work, just trying to forget. Everything’s been so difficult lately, and frustration was becoming your best friend. You hate it. You hate the negative emotion, you hate being alone. But what can you do?

Your so absorbed in your work that you don’t hear the first knock on your office door. The second time the knock sounds, the sound is so loud it startles you. You wave Gerri in.

“Sorry. I wasn’t paying attention,” you admit tersely. You and Gerri are both general counsel for Waystar, so you work closely. You *have been working closely. She comes over and sits in one of the chairs you have set in front of your desk, dropping some files onto your desk.

“What’s got you grumpy?” she asks, watching you give the papers a quick once-over. You sigh before you respond.

“I’m sorry,” you repeat. “Bad start to the morning. I got stood up on a date.” You quickly sign where you need to sign, your gaze flickering between her and the papers. Her eyes stay trained on you, and you can tell she’s turning some thoughts over in her head. “Nothing to say to that?”

She gives a light scoff. “I mean, I could say a myriad of things, but my job is to make you feel better, not worse.”

You set your pen down. “How sweet,” you say sarcastically.

“Oh, come on, don’t be like that.” She gathers the papers for you and tucks them back to the beige file. “I’m only teasing. I’m sorry, really.” She opens her mouth to say something, but then decides against it and gives you a tight-lipped smile. She gets to her feet and makes her way back to the door. But she changes her mind again, quickly turning around and going to sit back down in front of you. “Um, this is highly inappropriate, but it would be remiss of me if I didn’t even try. I owe it to myself.” You look up from your laptop, shifting your attention solely to her. “If it would make you feel better, I’ve been meaning on asking you out to dinner. Romantically.”

The heat rushes to your face. In all honesty, you would’ve never thought that Gerri would like you at all. But now that she’s admitted it, a swirling cloud of emotions rises to your chest. Deep down, you’ve always thought she was attractive. You just thought that since there was a small age gap between the two of you, she’d never even think of it. But you find that you’re glad you were wrong.

“I think I’d like that,” you say truthfully, catching her by surprise. She doesn’t say anything for a moment, leaving the two of you to just sit, stare, and blush at each other. It’s as if she didn’t expect you to reciprocate any sort of feelings. She smiles softly to herself- at you, rather, before she gets up.

“Could we… go tonight, maybe? There’s a nice place up the street I’ve been meaning to try. I’ve just been waiting for the right company.”

You smile back up at her. “I’ll wait for you in the lobby.”

And that was that.

The two of you walk to the restaurant. It’s not far from the office, just as she’d said. The two of you spend a majority of the first half of the date just smiling shyly, unable to tear your gazes from each other.

You laugh through the rest of the date. Your personalities mesh together so well, and you find yourself growing less and less nervous the more time you spend with her.

“I hope you’re still not thinking about this morning,” she tells you, staring down into her drink, small smile still on her face.

“Don’t worry, I’m not,” you reply. “I have my sights set on someone else now.”

“Well, for what it’s worth…” She trails off, looking up at you. “I wouldn’t stand you up.”

You bite your lip, suppressing a massive grin. “You think we could test that theory?”

“I’ve always enjoyed science,” she says back, eyes not leaving yours.

“So I’ll see you for breakfast tomorrow? At my place?”

“You will.”

What are some things introduced new52 to current day that you like and think are an overall net positive for batfam continuity? (As in, it's not uncommon for me to see fan things that mainly focus on post crisis/pre flashpoint stuff but still incorporate new comic aspects, such as slightly changed family dynamics/new developments, and it's interesting for me to find out what different people think is and isn't worth keeping from what got added after the reboot)

i was going to say i haven't read that many n52 and onwards runs, and then i realized i have actually read most of the ones i want to, i just haven't read any batman/'tec/batgirl/or duke's runs yet. (i read like...half of We Are Robin, Joker War, and i've read batman from where zdarsky come in so like have also read Gotham War.) (might read Catwoman?? not the point.)

since we're sticking strictly to net positives, i'll include something that i like, even if i have criticisms of it, but i won't get into those criticisms so we can stay positive!! tim's red robin costume. that suit is *chef's kiss* imo. i love that he has wings. i...i don't know if i necessarily want it back rn bc i am sososososo in love with his current robin costume, but i do adore the n52 red robin suit

i personally like that they went ahead and made jason less villain, more anti-hero. i think him trying to reintegrate with the batfam creates some very compelling crises

I had a fremellei brainrot I need to share with someone (I WOULD JOIN THE DISCORD BUT IT WOULDN'T LET ME FOR SOME GOD FORSAKEN REASON😭)

So, I doubt Collei would be able to swim. Maybe Tighnari tried to teach her but it just didn't work out. So while visiting fontaine, she mentions this to Freminet and she talks about how she'd like to be able to dive and look at all the sea creatures and explore. And she says it with this longing in her eyes that Freminet just MELTS for. And he nervously says-

"Well....I could teach you how to swim.....if you wanted..."

(I think this would happen after Collei gets a bit more comfortable with touch)

Collei just lights up at the idea and gets really excited. Not only because she'd finally learn how to swim, but also because she would have an excuse to spend time with Freminet!!

So Freminet starts giving Collei swimming lessons, going step by step to make sure she's comfortable. I think this would also be Collei getting to see just how passionate Freminet is about diving, and that would like- make her even more attracted to the sweet boy🥺

Finally, the day comes where Collei is finally able to start diving. Freminet is with her the entire time, and makes sure nothing bad happens to her. While Freminet is keeping watch for her, Collei is just having the time of her life. Looking at all the sea creatures, getting close to them (stressing out Freminet I'm sure lol). And Freminet just looks in her eyes, seeing the wonder and curiosity she has. And just that look, makes him fall for her even harder

Eventually the pull up and take a breather. They sit near the water and talk about the experience. Collei is just talking about how she's so excited to show Cyno, Amber, and Tighnari that she can swim, and also tell them about the cool stuff she saw. And she's saying all this Freminet's looking at her with pure adoration in his eyes. Thinking about how pretty she looks when she's all excited. And at that moment, all his self consciousness just kinda goes away, and he gets lost in Collei's presence

Collei eventually realize she was rambling and gets embarrassed and apologizes. Freminet reassures her that it's okay and laughs

"....that was amazing for your first time diving Collei.."

"Ah...was it really??? I'm glad!! I felt a little nervous at first but I knew I was safe because you were with me Freminet!!"

Freminet smiles and continues to look at Collei adoringly

"....you're amazing, Collei..."

And somehow, his body acts without him thinking and he gives her a kiss on the cheek. Collei is stunned by the sudden action and just freezes in place, face flushing with red and brain just short circuiting. Freminet soon realizes what he did and just thinks "oh shit I messed up- what if she hates me now?? I should've gotten consent, did I just ruin our friendship?? oh no, oh no, oh no-"

He clears his throat and stands up, trying to compose himself, telling Collei that they should head back now before it gets dark, swiftly trying to change the subject. And Collei's mind is racing, and she feels like she should say or do something. As Freminet begins to starts walking away, she stands up and grabs him arm

"Freminet-!"

"Hm-?"

And she pulls him back a bit, and returns the kiss on the cheek. They just .....stare at each other for a little while before both clearing their throats and being like "um yeah so we should go back now"

And they are both left internally SCREAMING after that incident. And I think that would be the turning point in their relationship where they realize they both have feelings for each other.

clone high season 3 thoughts:

joan was handled a lot better but it sucks that her and jfk NEVER talked abt their relationship again. it's all about her and abe/confucious now and i hate it. i liked her going back to her indie girl roots but the og joan would NEVER accept that whole "i'll pretend to date you if you pay for my film festival" shit. she had more class than that. it feels like she's doing that thing they did in z-o-m-b-i-e-s where s2 she thinks she belongs with harriet and jfk but now she thinks she's a bleacher creature... idk it's weird.... bleacher creatures were kinda cool tho :) not topher.

i liked jfk being the mc actually, it was refreshing. i found the christian arc really fitting especially at the end where they tied it together as him being a kennedy. i didn't like him dating harriet again and i also didn't like the jfabe hints ???? that scares me... but the dick pic thing was funny,, also the fact that he's just like,, one of the guys now?? him and confucius and abe being buds. just dudes being dudes.

abe was SO much more in character this season. i didn't particularly like the bloody mary episode but the whole "i found a girl and she's nerdy like me and she's cute and funny but she wants to get rid of joan" thing is okay i guess. it really feeds back into s1 when he abandoned ghandi for cleo. overall he was good but he was VERY hypersexual this season and it was just awkward to watch.

cleo acted... KIND of like herself?? i liked the slim snowsuit thing and the supporting frida because she got free stuff but that's like it. i still wish her and frida had more setup in s2 but they handled it well this season at least. them being the christian icons was funny i guess but i seriously want cleo to accidentally use frida and manipulate her power at some point and then feel guilt. that's the ONLY reason cleo should ever feel guilty for anything in this show.

frida was chill tbh, not much to say abt her. the whole fish pointing, painting stuff for cleo, only snorkeling to make her happy was sososososo cute </33 i want more stuff like that :")

harriet is terrible character writing. her only trait is that she's smart and loyal, but she cheats on confucius. with eye sex. I HATE THE EYE SEX THING. WHY WAS IT NECESSARY. and then she goes back to confucius as soon as she thinks he's available just because she thinks he likes her. WHAT. AND THEN SHE'S MAD ??? i feel like she's only there to be joan's friend and to be with frida at the beginning of s1... WHY!!!!! IS JFK!!!!! DATING HER !!!!! STILL !!!! NOT ONLY IS SHE A BAD FRIEND, SHE'S JUST A BAD PARTNER IN GENERAL!!

confucius is a good character though imho. he was a good person this season and his actions actually made sense with his motivations. he's a huge people pleaser and because of that he wants validation in points (ep1) and doesn't wanna tell harriet he's dating joan. he wants to keep everyone happy and he's so sweet tbh he's growing on me.
