He Canceled Hot Girl Summer 🔥

Series Master List

Brunch with the ladies…|
“She was talking about, my man my man my man, whole time mind you, her man had downloaded Grindr in order to see hole and I only found out because he matched with Autumn and asked if he was down to fuck. Whole time even after I told her and sent the screen shots that Autumn sent me when he figured out who the dude was, she had the nerve to say and I quote ‘Aaliyah don't be jealous bitch because you can't keep a man even as a whore’, mind you she only made her goal for that week because I invited her to do a double with me.’” Aaliyah is busy telling a story about her acquaintance that she sometimes works doubles with.
The table erupts in laughter, and for once in five months, you feel alive. It's been forever since you left the house without worrying about Omari. Johnny had insisted that you go and have a girl's day with your friends, and he was gonna have a guy's day with his mini-me. Sure, you were apprehensive about the whole ordeal, leaving Omari with his father while you went to therapy, or got your hair and nails done was one thing. Each little outing would be done and completed within three hours. Brunch with the girls, though? That was damn near an all-day thing. You four would meet at some ritzy ditzy outdoor place and order bottomless drinks and food. Trade dating stories about your sex lives, talk about family drama as if you four didn't all grow up within walking distance of each other, complain about missed connections and give opinions on flavors of the week. Then after the bill was fought over because one of you always wanted to treat the other three, you'd all stumble out, find some boutique or mall and make questionable clothing purchases, only to find yourselves back in an open patio restaurant for an early dinner, trying to chase away a brunch time hangover.
You hadn't done this in months. It was like breaking through an endless wave of depression and depersonalization. You didn't feel the immediate tug of motherhood. Instead, you felt like…well you again. Loud, fun, flirty (the cute guy at the bar had sent you and the girls drinks all because you smiled so pretty at him), and most of all like a whole person and not some milk dispenser.
Your name cut through the laughter and huffs as the girls all calmed down. Rosette was beaming at you from behind her glass. She waits until the table is quiet before she begins, “So tell us all about John and how he's been these past few weeks?”
You shift in your seat as everyone stares at you, “what is there to tell?” You sip your mimosa and sigh, it's been so long since you've drank but Johnny had insisted you do that. He'd taken the liberty to research the best formula for Omari and said in that sweet Scottish accent, that his mini-me would be fine for a day without milk from the source.
“Well one, you aren't sleeping with him, right?” Aaliyah snarks. She raises an eyebrow, “Just wanting to make sure.”
“No…we aren't doing that. Truth be told, I like having John around. My only issue is that he's an NDA soldier, and suddenly, all the cameras and the privacy film on the windows make sense.” You sigh. Just as expected, the girls all stare in shock. “He wants us to move somewhere else, safe and secure. It was an argument, really.”
“Well you aren't married to him, so you don't need to.” Jay sips her drink with a frown, “He isn't trying to make you stay out in the middle of nowhere, right?”
“Some little village out in the highlands, an hour or so from his own family.” You snort, your eyes don't miss how everyone cringes. You all have the same experience, growing up in some middle of nowhere commune, land bought by four well decorated and wanted black-ops soldiers that wanted to hide their families. Homeschooling done by your mothers, every outsider vetted carefully, the small town didn't really trust you all but accepted your strange clan.
It's Rosette that places a hand on top of yours, “It'll be fine, I'm sure if you explain your reservations, he'll understand.”
“Other than that, he and I have been fine.” You quickly change the subject, “He has started taking me and Omari out to do what he explains is his idea of family activities. You know the zoo, aquarium, and picnics at the park.” You strategically leave out that for the past two weeks, he's been staying at your place. He takes night duty with Omari and only wakes you to breastfeed so you don't wake up with sore and swollen breasts.
You leave out that Johnny speaks with your mom as much as his own. While he doesn't particularly enjoy speaking with your stern father, he does, and he's respectful. Sure, the girls know that he pays for your hair and nails, but they don't ever need to know that he helps regulate you after a hard therapy session. Holding you close in a tight hug, whispering that he's got you and that you aren't failing your son and that you are indeed a good mother and an even better woman. Calming your fears that your family will only see you as irresponsible for making Omari without being married.
Your three best friends don't need to know any of the emotional episodes you have when your hormones become too much, and Omari demands all of you. When you feel wrung out with nothing to give him and it's Johnny who has been picking up those pieces. They don't need to know that he has planted himself into your life as much as his son's and that you've let him practically move into your apartment.
“Adorable that he's doing daddy duties.” Rosette smiles.
‘Yeah’ you think. ‘Adorable’. You clear your throat and grin at Rosette and look to Aaliyah, "How did that double date go the other week with Kyle and Simon?”
Rosette sighed dreamily, “Other than Aaliyah trying to fight the chef and getting the four of us banned from that restaurant. I think Kyle might be the one.”
Jay snorted, “How did that happen?” She places her arm around Rosette and glances at her “And you sure you want the other military guy to be the one?”
Aaliyah only shrugged and didn't even look like she was ashamed. That was your best friend though, “Look, he asked for medium well steak, and they brought that man well done steak, and he was just gonna suffer through it silently. I wasn't about to let anyone eat that dry ass steak and then pay for it? Fuck out of here!”
Rosette still had heart in her eyes, twirling her hair around her finger. She had recently dyed the end of her locks a pretty shade of deep red. “I can overlook him being in the military. He likes me for me, warts and all.”
You smiled at her, “Get to know him a bit longer, we gotta make sure it isn't dick-matism”
Chapter 6: The Soap Chapter 🧼

Johnny had settled into his new life as a dad. Sure, when he started his leave, he didn't expect to be a dad. When he looked at Omari, stared into his pretty blue eyes, brushed his fingers through his curly hair, and held his tiny little hand; well, Johnny knew he had to be better in all aspects of his life. The mother of his son had done such a remarkable job without him for a year and four months. He wants, no, needs to take care of them both and give them a good life.
He still felt a pang of sadness and anger at himself for sneaking out and not staying to at least leave you his number or Instagram. Often, his mind would wander back to the night you had both made Omari. He thinks about the wild night you shared. The way your eyes stared at him as if you didn't want to be anywhere else but with him, drinking and bar hopping, playing pool, and taking shots off of each other. He replays in his mind the kiss that broke the damn. That moment was frozen in his psyche, engraved in his mind as a core memory. He was tipsy then, too smitten by you to understand that he had found what he teased and secretly envied Price for having.
Having Omari Malachi- God willing, you let him change both of your last names - MacTavish - just made him want the whole thing all at once. Him always being in the line of danger made him want to speed run everything and break his Captain’s record of getting married in four months. If you had him, he'd get married at the court house and deal with his mother's and sister's ire later.
He's on base with Omari, his little bairn strapped to his chest. The past two weeks he's been staying off base with you and his wee one, crashing on the couch and taking night shifts and then more often just taking the brunt of the work with Omari, insisting that you rest. Every cry his son let out was met with him picking him up and setting him right, and if he could swing it, done without having to wake his Chuilein.
Most of the other soldiers on base and in the hallways stop and give him a double take. There's a sense of pride that swells in his chest as he catches the way people stare at his son. People stare with shock because there's no way Soap is carrying a babe on his chest! He gets to Price's office and hears the gruff sound of Simon talking.
“I've never actually been told before that my mask wearing was a sign of anxiety and complex ptsd…the woman is a pain in my ass.” He is complaining, which is a rare thing that he seldom does.
Instantly Johnny knows who he is talking about. His friend is referring to the date he was swindled to go on by Kyle the other week. Shaking his head, he knocks on the door and when he enters, it's to his Captain and Lieutenant looking over papers. “From what mah lassie says,” Johnny grins widely, “Aaliyah actually likes ye or she would've charged ye for the hours after the agreed upon date ended.”
Price chuckles at the glare that Simon sends him before looking at the squirming baby strapped to his chest. His mustache twitches and lips pull into a smile, “So that's him, huh?”
“Yeah,” He pulls Omari out of his wrap and promptly drops him into Simon's lap, “Meet mah boy Omari M MacTavish.”
Upon getting put in Simon's lap, Omari immediately goes for his mask. His chubby little fingers are trying and failing to grip onto the fabric. He squeals and settles on patting his face and trying to eat the mask instead by placing his mouth on Simon's cheek.
“How did she come up with the name Omari?” Simon asks. He's careful with the boy, squishing his cheeks. “Don't try to eat my mask…it's my second skin.” To which Omari only doubles down and babbles away.
He plops down in the open seat next to Simon with a shrug, “She said she picked it ‘cause he looked like an Omari an’ Malachi got pushed inta being his middle name.” He smiles at his son, “an’ he looks like an Omari.” His eyes trail over to the papers on the desk, “aren't we on leave? We have like three more weeks left?”
Price sighs and shakes his head, “Laswell needs us for an op, so we may need to cut it short.” He at least looks apologetic, “estimate on moving out is next week.”
Johnny feels his blood run cold because it's currently Monday, and he's got a week or less to make sure his girl and son will be okay. He thinks back to the argument that he and you had three days ago. He had finally sat you down and told you what he did, how his missions were dangerous, and that he's made enemies in high places. That part, he was surprised that you took well, you didn't flinch and really only sighed with resignation. It was when he asked you to move out to be near his family, to let him set you and Omari up in a small village, that you snapped and told him no. The conversation devolved into him being a bit more stern than he wanted and you raising your voice. He tried to explain that your second floor flat wasn't safe, that he would feel better moving you somewhere more secure, and it would keep his nerves from being shot when he was gone.
“John, I'm not letting you just show up and tell me that I need to let your choice in a high-risk career dictate my life.” You had said when the argument calmed down. You had been telling him repeatedly that you weren't leaving your very public job, you weren't going to be in some little village, and you definitely were not just going to do whatever he said.
“Steamin’ Jesus, that's gonna be a fun one.” He runs his fingers through his hair and notes that he needs to give himself a cut. “Chuilein may actually murder me.” He gives his captain a pleading look.
Simon grunts, “You said that she was okay with your work. So I don't think she's going to kill you.”
“She's gonna kill me, but not fo’ the reason ye think.” He reaches over and pulls Omari into his arms, “She's got some important event next week with her boss an’ some client an’ I already agreed that I'd keep Mini for the week while she travels.”
Price raises both brows in shock, “What exactly does she work as?”
“Some type of assistant at a talent agency.” He says, “Captain, how do you tell the Missus when you have ta ship out?”
Price laughs a bit before leaning back in his chair, “I usually take my wife out to do something fun or a nice night in before we ship out. Make some good memories in case things happen.”
It's a sobering thought that puts his new life perspective. He looks down at Omari and frowns. He doesn't plan on dying and leaving his family anytime soon. “Thanks for the advice, Captain.”
Seemingly not pleased with his dad and the change of mood, Omari starts babbling and squealing. Patting his face and giving him a gummy smile. Johnny sighs with a smile, “ So like…I also kinda wan’ tae ken what do I have tae do ta make sure Mini and his mam will be safe and taken care of if somethin’ happens ta me?”
Price and Simon both look at each other. They know that Johnny had gone through a quick and rushed lifestyle change. He declines going to the pub more often, opting to be with his son and his girl (as he puts it). He most recently started the habit of staying off base and where he normally would have had a short fling by now, which obviously didn't happen. He by no means is awkward, normally just saying whatever he wants and laughing off any and everything. Seeing him actually act like a dad was the same as seeing him rapidly mature, almost overnight.
Simon shrugged his shoulders, “You should elope with her. That way, you get on base housing, she doesn't have to move far and she is in a secure area while you're gone, and she's entitled to all the support a spouse married to a serviceman gets.”
“Now Simon, why would you-” John begins.
“That's a solid idea. I'll phrase it just like that, and she'll have no choice but to go along with it.” Johnny is smiling. Sure, it won't be traditional. It may even come off as ‘odd’ but he would get to be married to his Chuilein. Both her and his baby would be safe, and should anything happen, he knows his widow will be okay.
John only sighs. He knows that's going to create a row in the young man's life. While he hasn't met the woman that has his sergeant's heart, he does hear about the off the wall way she acts. So he leaves Johnny to the very bad idea and the lesson he's about to learn about trying to talk a woman into marriage.

Johnny spends the rest of the day hanging out in Price's office until he leaves with Simon to go figure out lunch. Omari hasn't napped yet, and he's pleased because that means his Mini-me will sleep through most of the night. Conversation, as always between him and his lieutenant, flows naturally up until Simon says something that's somewhat out of character for him.
They ended up off base in some shitty little restaurant that actually serves decent food. Omari has taken a full liking to playing with the salt and pepper shakers, fighting tooth and nail when his dad tries to wrestle them away.
“Johnny?” Simon says after taking a long sip of his beer.
“Yeah?” He doesn't really take his eyes off his son for too long.
“Don't go saying this to anyone…but I actually enjoyed the date that Kyle roped me into.” Simon mumbles.
This takes him off guard, “wait, really? I thought ye hated it.”
“Yes I hated the fancy place Kyle picked out trying to impress his bird…hated the food, and almost hated the alcohol.” He takes a deep sigh and drinks the rest of his beer. Then hurriedly, his mask is pulled back down onto his face. “It was after Kyle and Rosette left…”
Johnny nodded his head following along, “So ye didn' like the date but liked what the idea of the date?” He was a bit confused.
Simon huffs, and Johnny can tell that he's uncomfortable with whatever emotion he is feeling. His friend is tapping the table with his index finger and is staring at him like he's supposed to just know what's ailing him. It takes a moment, but he thinks over the conversation, and he thinks about what he's heard about that double date from his girl. Then it hits him.
“Simon…mate…did you sleep with her on the first night?” He asks and leans in close. He covers Omari's ears to shield him from his words.
Simon only grunts, “I did…after she told me that I should either see a therapist or get a vice stronger than cigarettes and liquor, because I fuck like I have trauma issues…that's where the comment about the mask came from.” He looks away from Johnny and doesn't say much more.
“Jesus…she's a piece of work, want me to say somethin’” Johnny feels incredulous.
Simon still won't look back at him, “Hm…I want you to convince your bird to convince Aaliyah to go on a second date with me.”
Johnny only blinks, completely and utterly thrown from a loop…because what? He shakes his head and smiles, “I'll see what I can do.”

a.n: so yeah this was the Johnny Chapter! Next Chapter we will be doing something different. Also I know my other stories haven't been updated (sweats) but I'm in a writer's block and for some reason I'm only able to write comedy or romance right now. Angst just isn't happening the way I need it too and I'm sorry yall 😔.

Law is the winner!

Source for pic
So our sexy, sexy doctor won the new poll and his story will be the next one to be featured in the meet-cute series!
Summary: After moving away from the hustle and bustle of Grand Line City to help your father around the property following a horse-riding accident - and in the hopes of healing your broken heart after your asshole ex-fiancé cheated - you settle into the country calmness of the Calm Belt. You and Law (your father's doctor) start to build a flirty friendship because of your father’s procedure. So much so that when he’s invited to Baby 5’s wedding (his cousin), he asks you to be his date. His uncle Doflamingo - who is filthy rich - is very adamant on finding a suitable wife for him. Seeing as he wants to avoid that, he asks you to pretend to be his girlfriend for the weekend.
Tropes: Fake relationship/only one bed. Law with very soft dom tendencies, possessive and protective.
I already have a few scenes planned but I won't be able to write it yet (I'm on vacation and time to write has been quite limited! I also want to finish the request I have for my 100 followers event and the Highlander Kid fic that's still in the works!) But I'll give you more details:
We're going to meet the sweet, quirky uncle, Cora, and the eccentric, shady uncle Doflamingo.
Doflamingo paid for all of Law's student loans, so he could get the best education ever, and he doesn't understand why Law wants to settle in some backwater town.
To try and keep controling Law's life, Doflamingo wants to have a say in who he marries, especially if he can benefit from the alliance. That's why it's so important to Law that his uncle believes that your relationship is real.
You and Law are to spend the weekend at his uncles' house for the wedding and, obviously, you will sleep in the same room which only has one bed.
Since you need to seem like you're already a couple, before going you will need to practice so you can be at ease around each other. And by practice, I mean kissing and touching. *wink, wink*
Ok, I guess this is enough teasing! I hope this got you all excited! Stay tuned! Thank you all for your love and support and lovely words!

2,500-Year-Old Tombs With Artifacts Discovered in Israel
Archaeologists have uncovered ancient tombs and artifacts near Tlalim Junction, Israel, revealing trade connections between the region and distant civilizations, including Yemen, Phoenicia, and Egypt. The discovery sheds new light on the movement of goods and cultural exchanges across the ancient world.
Details of the artifacts
Excavations led by the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) unearthed artifacts pointing to the area’s role in long-distance commerce. Among the findings were flint arrowheads, likely sourced from Yemen and Oman, as well as copper and silver jewelry.

Researchers also discovered small alabaster vessels, which were historically used to transport incense. One of the most striking objects was an amulet of Bes, the Egyptian deity known for protection and fertility.
A forgotten hub of trade and culture
Archaeologists suggest the Negev Highlands played a far more important role than previously thought. Rather than serving as a mere passageway for traders, the area may have functioned as a central hub where goods, ideas, and traditions were exchanged among civilizations.
The location of the tombs is unusual. Unlike most burial sites found near ancient towns or fortresses, these graves are isolated in a remote area with no nearby settlements.

Researchers have proposed two possible explanations: the site may have served as a designated burial ground for traveling merchants, or it could be a mass grave for traders who perished in an attack.
Dr. Jacob Vardi, an expert on ancient tools at the IAA said, “The unique concentration of flint artifacts uncovered at the site are unparalleled in Israel, and the only source that we know of is Yemen and Oman.”
Echoes of a distant past
Historical records suggest that trade caravans passing through the Negev carried luxury goods such as frankincense and myrrh, prized for their use in religious rituals and medicine.
Some accounts also suggest that the same trade routes may have been used for human trafficking, with enslaved women taken from Gaza, Egypt, Greece, Moab, and Edom.
Another intriguing aspect of the discovery is the presence of red ochre on some of the flint artifacts. This natural pigment was commonly used in ancient cultures, symbolizing blood, and played a role in religious or decorative practices.

Dr. Vardi speculated that the ochre-covered arrowheads may have had ceremonial or symbolic value, rather than being used solely as weapons.
Public unveiling of the findings
These discoveries of tombs and artifacts in Israel will be presented to the public for the first time in the upcoming lecture series “Archaeological Mysteries.” Experts from the Israel Antiquities Authority will lead discussions on the significance of the excavation.
The series will take place at the Jay and Jeanie Schottenstein National Campus for the Archaeology of Israel and will provide deeper insight into the region’s historical role in trade and cultural exchange.
Researchers continue to piece together the vast and complex network of ancient trade with each discovery. The findings from the Negev Highlands highlight the region’s connection to civilizations far beyond its borders, offering a glimpse into the lives of the traders who once journeyed through these lands.

With him in SF in early September I wonder if they'll shoot S8 without any break. They are filming the 6th episode, with 4 weeks/block=2 eps. + 1 week for all table reads they should be done by end of August. The end is near & 12 years in the making by the time S8 airs.
I received a number of these similar asks in the last weeks already but didn't get to answer it in the way I wanted (sorry for the delay)
First of all to avoid some confusion, as far as I know he said he was gonna receive the SWF Award at Top Shelf event in October! I don't know why people keep saying September?

Caitriona's movie The Amateur was scheduled to be released on November 8, 2024, however the release is delayed and will now be on April 11, 2025
source
I do (of course) not have a filming schedule, so the short answer on will they have a summer break is; I don't know.
But we can speculate and think about a few things I considered. No facts of course, purely speculation.
Previous seasons we always could find some little clues and hints from time to time during filming, but this season it's extra hard. I shared what I could about location, but it's not always clear if it concerns OL S8 or BOB. That goes also for the clues we often would find on IG from the crew, which it seems are switching being busy on both series. The cast from BOB posts more little hints and clues than the cast from OL. Sometimes the supporting characters do, like today Kieran Bew
Kieran Bew IGS 21 June 2024
I also considered that S7 part 2 might have been altered a bit from how it was originally planned. As we were wondering during filming of S7 that there was no Fersali on set. Lauren and Cesar both were busy on other projects. But lately we've seen them again in Glasgow, and I really wonder if they filmed some extra scenes we will see in S7 part 2. It's hard to imagine how the storyline about Claire returning to the US, Philadelphia for Henri Christian's health problems (Fergus and Marsali's child) could omit Fersali. So perhaps they added scenes to S7 part 2, hence the long delay for it? (I could be completely wrong but we will know when it airs and if we'll see Fersali in S7 part 2 we know)
Anyway, we don't know where S7 part 2 ends, but if we are still in 3 different time periods (which does look that way given Diarmaid (Buck) seems to work on S8 as well, I figure not all cast is always needed on set. I do think, well actually am quite sure, some already had some time off in May. So perhaps, depending on the characters needed they scheduled it that way that people can have a wee break. I do wonder though about crew members, but perhaps BOB, which already started filming earlier this year will be done by July or so, and crew can take a wee break as well.
As for Sam, I do have an idea why his schedule didn't fit the Highlander con in July... but I keep that for my self for now. When time comes I'll see if I was right about it or not.

2024 February 3
Apollo 14: A View from Antares Image Credit: Edgar Mitchell, Apollo 14, NASA; Mosaic - Eric M. Jones
Explanation: Apollo 14's Lunar Module Antares landed on the Moon on February 5, 1971. Toward the end of the stay astronaut Ed Mitchell snapped a series of photos of the lunar surface while looking out a window, assembled into this detailed mosaic by Apollo Lunar Surface Journal editor Eric Jones. The view looks across the Fra Mauro highlands to the northwest of the landing site after the Apollo 14 astronauts had completed their second and final walk on the Moon. Prominent in the foreground is their Modular Equipment Transporter, a two-wheeled, rickshaw-like device used to carry tools and samples. Near the horizon at top center is a 1.5 meter wide boulder dubbed Turtle rock. In the shallow crater below Turtle rock is the long white handle of a sampling instrument, thrown there javelin-style by Mitchell. Mitchell's fellow moonwalker and first American in space, Alan Shepard, also used a makeshift six iron to hit two golf balls. One of Shepard's golf balls is just visible as a white spot below Mitchell's javelin.

Hermes | The God with Winged Feet
HOMERIC HYMN 4 to Hermes:
“For then she bare a son, of many shifts, blandly cunning, a robber, a cattle driver, a bringer of dreams, (14) a watcher by night, a thief at the gates, one who was soon to show forth wonderful deeds among the deathless gods. Born with the dawning, at midday he played on the lyre, and in the evening he stole the cattle of far-shooting Apollo on the fourth day of the month; for on that day queenly Maia bare him (15).”
PARENTS:
Son of Zeus: King of the Gods (Many of you reading this will probably know who this is. He is pretty popular despite his controversial escapades.)
Son of Maia: Goddess sometimes referred to as a Mountain Nymph, “MAIA was the eldest of the Pleiades, the seven nymphs of the constellation Pleiades,” according to theoi.com, and daughter of the Titan Atlas (Titan punished to hold the planet up by Zeus)
STATUS: Olympian
PURPOSE:
Messenger God of Zeus to Hades. Invented the lyre out of a turtles shell, ox hide, sheep horns, and animal guts then traded it to Apollo for his herd of cows (that he stole). This trade was significant because Apollo then gained the title “The God of Music,” and Hermes became, “The God of Thieves.”
He is also the God of trade, heralds, herds, and athletes.
CHILDREN:
Hermes had many children, mortal and immortal, Human and Gods.
The lists and descriptions in this section were sourced from theoi.com.
Immortal:
Angelia: Goddess, messenger of the Gods.
Eleusis: Son of Hermes and Daeira.
Hermaphroditos: Son of Hermes and Aphroditie. Also known as Hermaphroditus was the winged God of effeminates and hermaphrodites. Belonged to Erotes a group of winged love-Gods.
Oreiades: Also known as Oreads, meaning “of the Mountain”. In short, Hermes was said to be the father of many nymphs of the Mountain.
Palaistra: Also known as Plaestra. Some sources say she was Hermes's daughter, grew up in Arcadia, and was the Goddess of wrestling. Other sources say she was Hermes's lover and the daughter of Chorius, an Arcadian king.
Pan: Half-man on top, half-goat on the bottom. God of flocks, shepherds, & the wild. Famously invented the pan flute; like father like son.
Panes: There were many Panes, some associated with Pan and others with Satyrs, but Agreus and Nomios were sons of Hermes.
Known as “Rustic spirits” responsible for protecting sheep flocks, and goat herds found on highland pastures and mountains. “Panes were depicted as goat-footed men with the horns, tail, beard, snub nose and ears of a goat. They sometimes had actual goat-heads instead of just a few goatish features.”
Priapos: Also known as Pirapus. God of vegetable gardens, the symbol of the fertility of gardens, and the protector of flocks, beehives, and vineyards. Most sources believe he was a son of Aphrodite and Dionysus.
Satyroi: Also known as Satyrs and fertility spirits, there were many Satyrs in Greek mythology. However, “…the three messengers of Dionysos were sons of Hermes.” Lykos, Pronomos, and Pherespondos.
Mortal:
Abderos, Aithalides, Arabos, Autolykos, Bonuos, Daphnis, Ekhion, Eleusis, Eleusis, Euandros, Kaikos, Kephalos, Keryx, Kydon, Libys, Myrtilos, Norax, Orion, Pharis, Phaunos, Polybos, Saon.
Many were Kings, founders of cities, Lords, Inventors, and Princes. Most if not all were men.
21st Century ROLES:

Little Devils That Live Underground
I want to put a spotlight on an old enemy we haven't seen since ALBW release. He might help us solve a mystery!
Goriya
Their first appearance dates all the way back to the first game in the series. They are described as "little devils that live underground. They use boomerangs to attack."
Canine-like darkness dwellers who specialize in throwing... Could the Mysterious Statues leading to the Abandoned Central Mine in Tears Of The Kingdom perhaps be Goriya?
Why would the statues be some old forgotten enemies? Wouldn't Mogma make more sense since they're friendly?
Let's take a closer look at some Goriya.

Red Goriya appearance in Zelda II. It's common for Goriya to be depicted with a raised arm to throw. (super sorry about the quality) This pose reminds me of the pose the Mysterious statues are carved in on the tablet Josha had you reassemble.
Red Goriya artwork for Zelda II compared to the sprite version. Goriya are known as one of the few enemies across the series capable of speech and reasoning. In Zelda II there is a hungry Goriya blocking your path until you feed him. Not all Goriya are aggressive.

Goriya fighting alongside Moblins in Zelda II. (Artwork source: Arts and Artifacts Dark Horse Books.) They don't seem to be little like their description says.
This Goriyas armor reminds me somewhat of the Barbarian armor...

Not exact, but they give similar design elements and silhouettes.
The Mysterious statues appear to hold Brightbloom seeds rather than Boomerangs. Which makes sense since these ones supposedly mine the Depths. Is there any creatures in Hyrule more skilled at throwing than a Goriya?
Speaking of boomerangs let's look at the in game descriptions for some boomerangs in both botw and totk:

First Pic is from BOTW Second is from TOTK
These boomerangs are massive and a challenge to handle even for Link. I'm assuming they aren't made for Hylians or perhaps even by Hylians given how RARE they are in TOTK. There's only a small handful of places on the surface you can obtain them from. Lizalfos and Moblins are now seen using them in battle.
Interestingly, the Giant Boomerang spawn points in the Depths are also specific to certain areas on the map, just like all the pristine weapons made by the other races of Hyrule. Pristine Giant Boomerangs can be found in the Faron region, Tanagar Canyon, Gerudo Highlands, and Eventide island in the Depths.
Eventide island particularly interests me because I believe the island is somewhat of a reference to Koholint Island. Where, most recently in Link's Awakening Remake, a friendly Goriya was introduced! He's a secret so keep it from everybody.
He trades your shovel for the boomerang at the end of the trading quest in that game. This ls the most recent appearance Goriya have made in the series. So maybe not as forgotten as we thought... just secret.
Green Goriya made their first appearance in ALTTP and more recently ALBW. The Goriya in these games behave quite differently. Rather than chasing you with boomerangs, they mirror all of Link's movements to block his path in a few Dark World/Lorulean dungeons.
I cant think of any other enemies across the games that mirror Link quite like that and isn't a boss like Shadow Link/ Dark Link.
Could the Ancient Hero's Aspect be the spirit of a Green Goriya cloaking Link's current Hylian shape? Green Goriya variants, since introduced, always mirrored Link rather than throwing boomerangs.
What about the Mogma?
I think the Mogma are prehistoric ancestors to Goriya. They do share a lot of similarities, like living underground and being canine-like.
TLDR: Goriya are the Mysterious race of people depicted by the statues in the Depths and that they could've decended from Mogma. Their races' unique weapon is the Giant Boomerang.

Hermitcraft/Traffic SMP members as horse breeds! Part 1!
I did this for my previous hyperfixation (F1) and I really wanted to do this for my Hermitcraft/Traffic SMP hyperfixation as well! This is not scientific or accurate at all! It’s for my own fun and for the 10 people who will re-blog this :) All of this is based on vibes and their standard minecraft skins! The dynamics are really all over the place (curse of someone who likes a lot of duos >.<) so they are taken from the Life Series, Hermitcraft as well as some other HC’s or stuff I had. Initially I wanted to do Double Life so that season is a little more prevalent than others!
Bdubs
So for Bdubs I had a very specific vibe in my head which ended up perfectly matching with Etho’s and Impulse’s breeds; namely a small, high-energy mini-horse/pony which likes to make friends with big stallions :). As his breed, I quickly ended with a sport-bred Shetland pony! There’s a bit of a difference between a sport bred Shetland and a more general Shetland, as sport bred ponies are often taller and less chubby. They often look more like their American counterparts! I imagine Bdubs is a pony stud stalled at the same stud-centre as Etho or, alternatively, a gelding stalled at the same riding school as Impulse and Skizz. In any case he’s high energy, loves to play with other horses and gives up the vibe that he never really grew out of the foal phase. Though he can also be very sweet and gentle when the situation calls for it! Definitely has a love for kids! As for his coat, I just couldn’t get rid of the idea of him as a tobiano or spotted pony :)
Etho
For Ehto I immediately thought of a tall, slender horse, which led me quite easily to the Akhal Teke. These beautiful horses from Turkmenistan are known only for shining like a polished plate which is actually due to their different hair structure! (source). For Etho I imagine a chill stallion that loves to do his work and also just to goof out. I think his scar would be from a fight with another stallion when he was younger, causing either a very obvious scar along his eye or possibly even his eye completely taken out!
Joel
So for Joel I immediately thought of a Highlander or an Exmoor pony with too much confidence. In the end I settled on a Highland pony because they are just so cute (and have more coat colours compared to the Exmoor >.<). I imagine a small, overconfident stallion who’s stalled at the same stud-centre as Etho and is mostly used as a ‘teaser’ which a pony stallion used to test if mares are in heat and can be bred :) I imagine he gets turned out with the other stallions and is one of the bossiest of them all. I also see Etho just chilling and not giving a shit when Joel tries to boss him around. I also imagine him as a very dark bay or dun.
Impulse
For Impulse and Skizz I imagined big, gentle draft horses who love to goof around and definitely are the most trusted horse around any stable. For some reason I imagine Impulse just a bit shorter than Skizz, so after I ended up on Skizz’s breed, I thought a Clydesdale would fit Impulse perfectly! Clydesdales were bred from Shires to be a little more sporty, more refined in conformation and gaits. I imagine him as a gentle giant, really calm and loves to chill in the meadow and play with his friends.
Skizz
For Skizz I immediately imagined a Shire, the ancestor of the Clydesdale and thus a little bigger and less refined in conformation and also currently the tallest or second tallest breed in the world! (The American Belgian can get even taller, but these are the result of very careful breeding whereas the Shire is always this tall). I imagine he’s a little more of a loose cannon compared to Impulse, a horse that’ll accidentally step on your toes trying to get a snack you’re holding out for him for example >.< For his coat I got stuck on the idea of a bay brindle. Brindle is a rare coat colour observed mostly in Quarters, Arabians, sport horses or Spanish horses. We don’t know how it inherits, nor what causes it, so……… :) But, as you probably already guessed, it decisively does not occur in the Shire breed. However, I just think it’s the perfect representation of Skizz’s skin so I’m sticking with it >.<
Ren
Ren was difficult >.< I immediately thought of someone fluffy, medium sized and obviously bay ;) But when you think of fluffy horses you kind of automatically end up with either a draft or a draft like pony, but both of those didn’t really fit with Ren in my opinion. Then I went to see if South Africa has any native horse breeds (Since that’s where Ren was born) and I found the Boerperd! This breed is a recreation of the now extinct Cape Horse of Old Type-Boer Horse. Fun Fact: the name Boerperd comes from the Dutch “Boerenpaard” :D The breed was completely unknown to me but I fell in love quickly. These horses are great all round horses which can compete in about every discipline out there as well as go on horseback safaris! (video). I imagine Ren as a dramatic, playful yet work-focused that loves to go out on trail rides!
Martyn
For Martyn I was also stuck quite a while >.< In the end I was mostly inspired by his minecraft skin which led me to a Haflinger! These fluffy ponies are natives of Austria and Italy. They are also often used as children ponies and are great all rounders who enjoy doing a lot of things! I imagine he meets Ren when he’s purchased by the same stable which owns Ren, one that provides trail rides to experienced equestrians (I hate those places which just rent you a horse without checking your riding experience or matching you to a good horse >:( )I imagine they become very close, always standing together and definitely preferring to walk next to each other, even going to the point of trotting towards the other :) And another Fun Fact; did you know that despite their looks, all Haflingers are Chestnuts? They are often confused for palominos, but they’re really just all flaxen chestnuts >.< This colour comes directly from one the founding studs of the breed!
This was so much fun and I'm already busy with two other parts with all the other Life Series members as well some of my favourites from Hermitcraft!!

THE SIX SHOOTER
Mar 16, 2023
Radio programas or shows is something of the past. And it has become just that, sadly, something never to go back too. But I loved those shows and still do. However, there are so many things today that occupies one’s mind with an endless bombardment of different media programs on the internet or mobile phone, that there seems to be never enough time for anything.

The Six Shooter is a United States western old-time radio program starring James Stewart as a gunfighter. It was created by Frank Burt, who also wrote many of the episodes, and lasted only one season of 39 episodes on NBC (Sept. 20, 1953–June 24, 1954). One old-time radio directory called the program “a last, desperate effort by a radio network (NBC) to maintain interest in adventure drama by employing a major Hollywood movie star in the leading role.”
The main character, Britt Ponset, a drifting cowboy in the final years of the wild west, was played by James Steward who’s voice you are about to hear. Episodes ranged from straight western drama to whimsical comedy. A trademark of the show was Stewart’s use of whispered narration during tense scenes that created a heightened sense of drama and relief when the situation was resolved.(wikipedia)

Each episode opened with the announcer (Hal Gibney; John Wald in later episodes) stating: “The man in the saddle is angular and long-legged. His skin is sun-dyed brown. The gun in his holster is gray steel and rainbow mother-of-pearl, its handle unmarked. People call them both ‘the Six

The haunting theme music was “Highland Lament”, arranged by series composer Basil Adlam and written by British film composer Charles Williams. Jack Johnstone was the producer-director for NBC Radio, in association with Revue Productions.

James Stewart filmed a television pilot episode titled “The Windmill” featuring Barbara Hale, John McIntire and Edgar Buchanan but it somehow failed to sell. A perfect copy of the episode exists, however, which you can at the end of the paragraph.

The program was later successfully adapted for television in 1957 with John Payne as the star; by that time, Stewart’s career had completely recovered from his initial postwar slump and he was no longer available. An article in a trade publication reported that 39 “half-hour tv films” would be produced “for a series titled The Six Shooter.” Frank Burt was the consultant for all episodes of the adaptation. The pilot episode, titled “The Restless Gun”, aired on 29 March 1957 as an episode of the anthology series Schlitz Playhouse of Stars. John Payne, who would go on to star in the series, played the lead character, Britt Ponsett. But by the time the series, also called The Restless Gun, debuted the following fall, the main character’s name had been changed to Vint Bonner, “a slightly altered rendition of Britt Ponset”.
THE RESTLESS GUN
The Restless Gun is an American Western television series that appeared on NBC between 1957 and 1959, with John Payne in the role of Vint Bonner, a wandering cowboy in the era after the American Civil War. A skilled gunfighter, Bonner is an idealistic person who prefers peaceful resolutions of conflict wherever possible. He is gregarious, intelligent, and public-spirited. The half-hour black-and-white program aired 78 episodes (including the pilot episode in which the John Payne character's name is Britt Ponsett, the name of James Stewart's character in the 1953-54 old-time radio series The Six Shooter, upon which The Restless Gun television series was originally based).Wikipedia

The Restless Gun theme song (officially titled "I Ride With the Wind") begins: "I ride with the wind, my eyes on the sun, and my hand on my restless gun..."

Comfort Fanfic Recs

Rules: What are your old school comfort fics? The ones from fandoms that haven't been active in yeeeaaars, but you've read so many times you can practically quote them.
this took a hundred years because i started rereading everything lmao
in case of emergency by @amindamazed
elementary. A is the foremost scholar of joan and sherlock characterization and this is my favorite example.
That Burns a Building Down by embroiderama
white collar. neal's custody is taken over by beau bridges, who takes him to dc, cuts him off from pretty much any contact with the outside world, and makes him live in his furnished basement under constant threat of prison if he ever steps out of line. i first read this during lockdown and it was so unbelievably cathartic.
a safe way home by jojo
magnificent seven the series. it's about an assault and the aftermath. this author took wild, unexpected swings with characterization and dialogue that i've never seen anywhere else, while retaining what drew me about the source material (found family amongst seven dickheads).
crossroads by mitzi
magnificent seven the series. this baby can fit so much presumed dead in it, you have no idea. half the group spends most of the 300k story thinking the other half is dead and that it's sorta their fault and it's so good.
snake in the grass by nottasha
magnificent seven the series. it's just pure unadulterated whump.
across by affinity8
highlander the series. so highlander the movie was like there's these dudes with swords who can live forever if they don't get their heads cut off. then the sequel was like they're aliens actually, and are sort of reincarnated with the exact same names and personalities on earth which they don't remember until they do. and everyone hated that. but affinity8 took this unserious bong rip of a plot development, tied it into the most emotionally resonant parts of the show, and then made it make sense. she's a wizard. she also did a series about where immortals come from without the planet zeist which i consider canon.
blind sight by valerie j
x-men comics (i know they're alive and well, but the 90s-00s were a very different beast, shh). iceman joins the thieves guild, gambit becomes the head of the new york city chapter, and then bastion sets off operation zero tolerance, removing everyone's mutant powers. i keep coming back to this because the execution of ozt is intricate and terrifying to multiple pov characters. also the author essentially gave remy daredevil sight (infrared/heat-based, rather than motion or whatever tf matt has) at a time when any weakness could get him and an entire powerless x-team killed.
kinda mooks by kaylee
x-men comics. shortly after gambit was revealed to have been complicit in the morlock massacre and rogue left him to die in antarctica about it, he returned to the team. and that's the point where the author has him begin a relationship with iceman, who by contrast is fully embedded in and trusted by the x-men. this series is just really, really amazing character work and their love story makes me feral.

"I always like to play bad guys. I don't know why but I'm real good at playing people that exhibit some sort of psychotic behavior. I'm the guy people love to hate. People always remember the bad guy."
- Brion James.
(Another cult icon - villain - bad guy - goon, in Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Thrillers, Action cinema. "Blade Runner", "Steel Dawn", "Southern Comfort", "Flesh + Blood", "Highlander tv series", "Tango & Cash", "Enemy Mine", etc...) Source I read an article about Mr. James and his roll as General Munro. Mr. James was always Writer/Director Luc Besson's first choice to play Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg. That roll would be played by Gary Oldman, and no one could have played it better. Luc Besson wanted Brion in the move so much that he wrote in the roll of General Munro specifically for Brion, the rest is cinematic history.
