Corals bloom like underwater gardens, fish dart between the shadows. There is peace in this half-world, where the surface ripples with the breath of the wind.

Who wanders among the corals, unseen? What silent stories do the waves above whisper to the mountains, and do the mountains ever whisper back?

I missed doing traditional art. Originally I was going to paint this (thus the weird contours on his... Interesting artwork), but 2024 tired me out of it a bit.

The terrible self portrait was @/the_moonshine_jester on insta's idea. I think I finally grew comfortable in my stylization of their face, it's not game accurate but it fits how I draw! I like making their mouth simultaneously too cartoony but also... Almost person like within my artstyle. Kinda weirds me out in a good way.

Maybe my way of thinking about the innies vs outies isn’t how the show intended it to be interpreted but tbh I don’t think that the innies and outies are different people in any significant way.

Like people say “Helly is who Helena would’ve been if she hadn’t grown up as an Eagen” but like I don’t think that’s true. I think Helly is the way she is specifically because of who Helena is. When Helly first wakes up, her personality is immediately front and center. She does NOT act the way Mark and Irving were expecting her to, which kind of freaks them out. Helly bangs on the door, initially refuses the survey, shouts to be let out, throws a speaker directly at Mark’s head, etc. etc. Helena is the one who developed that personality throughout her life. The difference is that Helly isn’t making a conscious effort to control herself to try to live up to the role that she is supposed to fill.

If the innies truly were different people, then they would start out as completely blank slates and develop a personality from there. The innies and outies would be like twins separated at birth, similar in appearance but entirely different people with personalities formed through their different lives. But the Innies and outies demonstrably aren’t entirely different people. Their personalities are consistent. Dylan loves his wife as both an outie and an innie. Irving longs for connection with Burt as both an outie and an innie. Mark grieves Gemma as both an outie and an innie, although he doesn’t know what it is when he’s an innie. The real difference is only what specific knowledge they have available to them. The difference in knowledge between innies and outies is what shapes the differences in their behavior.

the innies aren’t the outies minus their life experiences, they’re the outies minus the conscious memory of their life experiences. But their lives in the outside world absolutely shape who they are both in innie and outie form, because they are one person. At least that’s how I view it anyway.

4/1 WIP Update :)

Hi friends! I have some exciting news for everyone - I’m dropping everything I was working on to write some new works! I’ll get back to those old boring ones eventually but for now, here’s what I’ve been writing:

> The Emperor’s New Groove AU (Shanks, Beckman x Reader) Shanks has been turned into a three legged llama and it’s up to you to help him reverse the poison.

Beckman, pinching the bridge of his nose: Shanks, why did you drink the poison? 

Shanks, thriving, wiggling his long neck around trying to reach Beckman's good whiskey on the high shelf: Thought it was alcohol.

Beckman: It says LLAMA POISON on the vial and it’s bright purple.

Shanks, accidentally dropping the bottle of whiskey and shattering it on the ground: Thought it was one of those fancy IPAs.

Beckman, sighing: well hopefully we can find the antido - STOP DRINKING MORE OF IT -

Shanks: You're throwing off my groove...

> Bird’s Eye View (Yan Hattori x Reader) In collaboration with @gouraminnow - You’ve been working at the pet store on Eneis Lobby for a few years now and always enjoy when your favorite customer, Hattori, comes in riding on Rob Lucci's shoulder. 

One day you’re closing the store for the night, prettying the displays for tomorrow’s customers. You hope Hattori will come visit with his owner, the cute little bird always makes your day. Mr. Lucci has told you many times how Hattori has a taste for the finer things in life, and his bird feed is no exception. Your store stocks the finest seed and you always make time to chat with the charming pigeon.

You turn off the lights and are about to lock the door to the shop when one strong hand is at your throat, claws piercing your skin. Rob Lucci drags you back to his rooms by force - you’re sure you’re going to be killed then an there. He dumps you in a heap on the floor none too gently.

“P-please, I don’t know what I did -”

“Someone wants to see you.” You look up and lock eyes with Hattori, sitting on his perch and sipping whiskey on the rocks. “I've told you, Hattori has a taste for the finer things in life.”

also! I like how you drew the lagging mirror with the colored like little outlines? Don’t know what to call it super cool though I like seeing how you interpreted and drew stuff from the books

Oh yeah- the oil slick colors! It's in a few art pieces with Jack specifically. Someone mentioned it months ago and it also stuck with me so now I kinda just have that attached.

Its kinda based on that sort of dark rainbow you get when a sheen of oil or gasoline is on the surface of water and the light hits it just right. Its very trippy and is frankly kinda damaging to everything around it and leaks everywhere and is hard to clean up once it gets spilled. There is something about that which reminds me of Jack and all the weird supernatural stuff as a visual motif.

If you played the Luminary Wardance event of Honkai Star Rail 2.5, did it negatively impact your view of Boothill? And did you think it was written in character for him, or out of character?

Sadly a simple poll doesn't allow me QUITE as much nuance as I would like, so feel free to put opinions or questions in replies/tags/askbox me some shit or whatever. But I am very curious about the split between people who are big Boothill enthusiasts (know more lore/characterization) vs more casual fans as to whether you think it was in character or not!
