Hi there! I just wanted to pop in and say that the universe you've created is incredible! I've fallen into the rabbit hole that is your lore and made myself right at home lol. Though I was wondering how Deity Bill might react to a Ford that's traveling the multiverse and changing things. I go more in detail about this Ford and what exactly he does on my GF blog, and I'll leave a link to the lore post below! I don't remember if I sent in a similar ask to you before so sorry if I did!

As heroic as this Ford sounds, Deity Bill would probably be pissed when an outsider from a different dimension tries to interfere with any timelines of other dimensions, despite their intentions being good or bad. Basically, he's like Miguel O'Hara. He is a guardian so he ensures that no dimension is touched, especially himself where he doesn't actively interact or interfere to alter timelines drastically (not unless he does 6 months of paperwork with Timebaby so he can have reigns over a dimension with them, that's how he's officially able to become his earth's muse). The thought that a human of all beings gets these kinds of abilities that are beyond their capabilities is unsafe and probably risky— according to Deity.

However, he's empathetic in a sense, but he firmly stands by his rule no matter what.

Happy 13th Night Vale-iversary!

Got really absorbed in the symbolism of beets (red bleeding heart JEWEL of the earth) while peeling one to have as part of dinner. They're just so good. Visceral. Like pomegranates but solid. Soil (honesty) instead of wax (broken promises).

something that I think the “have fun and be yourself” discourse tends to miss is that it’s all very well saying do whatever you want and don’t worry about what people think because the people who judge you aren’t worth your time, but sometimes you choose to act normal because you have a task to do or you’re in a conversation that you care about, and having to stop in the middle for your interlocutor to say bewilderedly “but why did you do that in such a quirky way” would be wasting time and getting off topic. choosing to act normal to avoid that is not being inauthentic out of unhealthy fear of censure. it’s just prudence.

how i talk 2 ppl:

open with a noise. ahwægwgh. bwh. awawa. etc.

this means "hello! Are you in a chatty mood?"

responding with noises or more normal greetings both function as a "yes! I invite you to strike up conversation with me."

I inevitably follow-up the greeting with some variant of "How are you?"

always a genuine question. open season to talk about feelings, anything interesting from ur day, literally whatever's on ur mind

if asked first, I will respond by summarizing my day. I will forget to mention my mood entirely. 50/50 I remember to ask back.

From there, if no directions to take the conversation have emerged, I may just be content with the little check-in and let it be, unless I had something in particular on my mind.

I often do, but luckily, not always.

Yet even when Columbo demonstrates to Brenner that he has seen through the other man’s shenanigans, has peeled away the layers of deception, quite literally by adding his own, the slick mirrored sunglasses are an obvious defense mechanism but they do signal the character’s return to complete inscrutability. His cool shades firmly back in place, Brenner is once again aloof, detached, and opaque. His one moment of possible vulnerability, of humanity, is calculated to be inconsequential: Columbo knows he is powerless to act on it. If Brenner has a soul, we will never see it. If he has a true identity, we will never know it. (4/4)

trying to write my first uhh spoken hypnosis induction script and oh my god. practised reading what I'd done out loud. how do you control your inflection?? how do you not stumble over every single word?????? there's a reason I write scripts I guess as opposed to speaking spontaneously

anyways my friends activated my conlang brain and I've made smth insane as usual

red is influences, blue is Elezen-family languages, green is like a mix bc I see the Alliance cities as having a trade language (that critically is limited to them).

I see Duskwight as a separate language from Black Shroud Elezen (but sharing a lot - easy enough to learn for those speakers). Coerthan and all its derivatives are a whole different language under the Elezen umbrella and isn't mutually intelligible with BSE. Because they split so early, they probably don't share much more than root words and etymologies; within the same family so not difficult to learn for other speakers of Elezen languages, but very distinctly different.

(also I'm not listing them but the branches extend to include other diaspora Elezen languages)

i dont rly get the thing popular w youtubers rn where they just describe in detail an exact summary of the entire show or game or whatever theyre talking about for like 15 hours but dont rly add their own opinions or commentary or analysis, usually intermissions r the only briefly interesting information. its weird to me bcuz a lot of these ppl r capable of making genuinely interesting and fun videos but i think a lot of them r friends and think its funny to make the long videos where they dont rly talk about anything. if i wanted to know everything that happened in a tv show id just watch the show and itd probably be more fun than someone talking abt it in exruciating detail. like this is neither a review nor an analysis, and its not really a commentary. its just weird to me to spend so much time on something and not have a thesis statement. youre just explaining a plot of something. and a lot of the time its obvious theyre not even having fun and dont like what theyre talking about and making themselves watch/read and i just dont get what the joke of that is. i could sit down and talk at length abt why i dont like certain media but it would at least still be littered with my own opinions and analysis i wouldnt just like, describe the plot of something to you, that would be rly boring for me. its just odd. id love to hear your opinion and i dont know why youre not sharing it
