Wixoss, how I love you. I hope your final season is as 6/10, yet unforgettable and haunting my brain for years to come as Infected/Spread/Incited were. I’m going to miss you, when this is over.
I’m not watching Diva. I’m here for the psychological trauma starring teenage girls using an abstract concept it’s supposed to be advertising as a plot device, not the thing it was made for.

Congratulations to average ball night.
The identity of Unsightly is...
akilucky and ulith from Selector Spread WIXOSS
Tumblr media
Thank you tristan for this submission
S6 Round 1
average ball night
The two met at a ball, when Ruby greeted Teal. They talked, they danced, and even drank some wine. Things changed when teal confessed at a balcony a certain attraction he felt for Ruby this night, which Ruby could not comprehend. For him, a man falling for another was impossible.
Anyway, they ignored this whole exchange and quietly sat at the floor of a empty room, when Ruby questioned said feelings again. He had never heard of it before, leaving Teal to explain. Their proximity began to grow a lot closer then, until a sudden pain hit Teal.
Turns out the wine he drank was poisoned by Ruby and he's been dying slowly this whole few minutes. Ruby was a hitman paid to murder Teal and had just began to regret his decisions as Teal died slowly. Ruby realized his mistake too late and Teal died in his arms.
Ruby left his “gig” as a hitman after his last straw of sanity. Not too long after, he started seeing and hearing Teal, like a ghost haunting him. Ruby can't tell if it is a real spirit or he's suffering from disturbing hallucinations.
Unsightly
girl a hates b and makes a wish to destroy B's life, oops wish backfires ruining A's life instead. (She got a facial scar and this ruins her career as a model.) Meanwhile, B gets bodyswapped. New!B finds A pathetic and destitute and offers her a new cause and licks her face scar and they make out. Anyway b2 is using A and kicks her to the curb once she's served her purpose and A has a desperate sad lesbian breakdown

Khaz’s Manga/Manhwa/Anime Recommendation Corner #3
I should really make myself a schedule to do this stuff.
Repeating again that each batch of recommendations will feature:  -1 Yuri work (manga/manhwa or anime),  -1 random genre manga/manhwa, and  -1 anime that you may or may not have seen
1. YURI RECOMMENDATION
Girl Friends (Manga)
Tumblr media
Now some OG Yuri fans may be wondering why I’m recommending it. It’s because a lot of newer fans might not know of this. This is one of the “classics”? You could say, of Yuri Manga. And while Sasameki Koto and Aoi Hana had been turned into anime, this one has not, but we’re still waiting. Now that I think of it, it’s kind of similar to a newer yuri manga called “Useless Princess”. Just without the bulk of misunderstandings and angst. It does have a fair share of it’s own, but overall it’s quite a solid peaceful, doki2 type shoujo manga. Just subtly (or quite blatantly) gay with the panic and all that. I’m bad at selling my recommendations so just check it out! Haha :)
2. RANDOM GENRE MANGA/MANHWA
Beware of the Villainess (Manhwa)
Tumblr media
Do I even have to recommend this? If you’re a manga/manhwa reader, for sure you’ve come across this multiple times in recommended comments, meme-ish comments, and the like. If you love strong, witty, independent, and wonderfully confident female MCs with both a male and female lead who are equally gorgeous, this is for you. Also MC villainess screws over the “male leads” of the world she’s in and it’s super satisfying. Teehee.
3.  ANIME YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE SEEN YET
Selector Infected/Spread Wixoss
Tumblr media
You may have seen or heard of the Lostorage Wixoss series. But before that, we had the SELECTED series of the wixoss franchise. I am not the biggest fan of “card game” anime, but boy was this different. Don’t be fooled by all the little girls and how cute they look. This was just... dark. Not too dark if you’re a big fan of those kinds of anime, but if you’re someone who mainly watches music, slife of life, or sports anime, this is already fairly dark for you. I loved the plot, the characters, the setting, the conflicts and the twists. Gosh. I love this anime so much. Do check it out!

Mayu's story hits a bit differently after 2020. We're not exactly in the same position, but I sure am able to empathise and imagine what it's like to be confined to a single room

Sociopath Profile: Ulith
Tumblr media
Real name: Rumi Igarashi (pictured right) From the 2014 anime series selector infected WIXOSS and selector selector spread WIXOSS, and the 2016 anime film selector deconstructed WIXOSS Voiced by Rei Kugimiya (JP) and Bryn Appril (EN) Recommended by @rickyotaku
While she may not be the main antagonist, she’s still the most morally reprehensible character in the series.
[SPOILERS BELOW]
Ulith actually has a long history of antisocial issues dating back to her younger years. This would be indicative of a conduct disorder required for a real world diagnosis of the disorder. Her wish was to spread pain and misery to others. She started out by torturing animals before moving to humans. When she got caught, she learned to mask her true nature from adults.
After finding out about the Selector game, she decided it would be a perfect opportunity to act out her sick fantasies. He has no remorse for the idea of trapping people in the LIRG cards or cursing them if they lose. She treats it exactly like a game and nothing more, rather than a matter of life and death.
She knows how to manipulate people. Ulith was able to take over Iona to become a Selector to play the game. Even thought Iona didnt have an issue with it, it’s still taking advantage of her. She also has superficial charm. Ulith always has a smile on her face when controlling Iona. She also enjoys mentally tormenting people and pushing them to suicide.
Akira Aoi also notes that Ulith has a stuck-up personality. This ties into the idea of her having a grandiose sense of self-worth. And that grandiosity might also be the reason for what she does. She enjoys a sense of superiority over others by reveling in the misery she inflicts on others. Her sadism is an extension a sort of power fantasy of her.
