greetings, everygamer! it’s not often you see a text post from me with no asks attached to it, so what gives?

@front-facing-pokemon (this blog) is rapidly approaching its end! you may have noticed if you’re paying attention to the remaining pokémon in the pokédex, but we’ve only got like TEN DAYS before we reach the END of the pokédex and i have nothing left to post on this blog. yesterday, i queued up the FINAL pokémon in the national pokédex, and have thus RUN OUT of pokémon to queue up!

so what happens now? well, that’s up for you to decide! this is That One Post where you can drop all your suggestions as to what should happen to this blog once we reach the end of the national pokédex! i’ve already heard things such as redoing the whole pokédex but this time it’s shiny (top contender right now!), back-facing pokémon, and turning this into a poll blog, so those are already in the running! if you have any other ideas (that are pokémon-related, please—and if they stick to the theme of the blog [like shinydex], that’s even better)

once i get enough suggestions and filter through for the ones that i like or that are viable, i’ll make one final poll that will decide the fate of this blog. (personally, i think the shinydex is in the lead for me) until then, enjoy the remaining posts, and thanks for stickin' around for this bumpy ride!

and finally, because plenty of folks have asked, and i’ve kept it a secret for this long, i feel you all deserve to know!:

my main blog is @kinogassa. that’s breloom’s japanese name! subject to change, and i rarely use that blog to be QUITE honest with you. buuut, if enough of you still care, then maybe i will!

a lot of you who cared already managed to sniff it out back before i could comment on posts from sideblogs, so shoutouts to you guys! for everyone else, i hope it was worth the wait(?)

i think i’ve also gotten a few other suggestions like taking requests on specific angles or whatever but that changes the flow of the blog to being request-based as opposed to queue-based ’n i dunno how i feel about that

by the way, massive shoutouts to the pokémon models ripping project, without which this entire blog would not have been possible!

i can't think of anything else to say (for now), but i'll be more active and responsive in the coming days as we try to figure out where all of this is going. see you tomorrow for whatever comes next!

Summary: Two years ago, a viral outbreak rose the dead. Considering how his life had gone up to this point, surgeon Trafalgar Law figured this might as well happen too. When a supply run into the nearby city gets intercepted by a seemingly reckless and impulsive former patient, the dependable routine Law had settled into in this new life shatters. He finds himself exposed — his body out in the infected landscape, his conscious clawing to define what he believes is right, his heart begrudgingly deciding to find a new home on his sleeve. Maybe there’s more than a virus roaming the new world that can bring a dead man back to life.

Latest Update: [7/21/24] WOWEE did I get myself carried away this morning. I just spent 5 hours organizing my comics and creating the digital comic book pages. I could have spent that time drawing or idk not doing what I do for my job, but I cannot be stopped. Anyway I blocked out 30 pages of this comic last week and they include the most intense action sequence I've ever done in my gotdang life. Wish me luck because I am nervous about tying down all my drawings lmao.

[6/29/24] HULLO! I'm doing so bad at keeping my masterposts updated lately I am sorry. All pages of life after are tagged life after if you're ever looking between masterpost updates! Also exciting update, I finally have figured out all the different plot points i'm gonna be hitting (yay!). I got hung up on something for awhile that made me not wanna work on this project, but I'm back at it. I think we'll end up with 6-7 parts! I have probably another 80-100 pages to draw lol. Also i got the app Magic Poser and it's AWESOME and I immediately used it to block out sets cuz MAN I hate backgrounds.

[6/10/24] HELLO. I'm sorry I've been shit at updating my masterposts lately. It's easiest to do from my computer, which I rarely use, and life has been happening. I also can't believe I bungled the queue and posted pg19 before pg18 i am very sorry 🤦 Eventually I'll have to turn this into an airtable base I'm sure, but until that day comes where I have like 100 pages of this comic we're stickin to the regular post lmao

[4/28/24] HULLO. It’s happeninnng. I’ve spent the last few weeks working on this comic, and I gotta make this post so I can start queuing pages & link this in them! This is the most like….legit? Comic endeavor I’ve undertaken perhaps….ever. I’m very nervous about committing to how long it will need to be lol. This story is dear to my heart — zombie content is kind of my very favorite. I’ve always found it to be a great backdrop for exploring themes like grief, coping with change, community, and learning to live again. It’ll be a long haul but I hope you’ll ride it out with me!! Tomorrow I’ll be posting the first two pages. After that a page will post every Monday/Wednesday/Friday. As of this post I’ve completed over 20 pages so that I have a good lead on what’s posting and continuing to write, so I’m hopeful that’s a cadence I’ll be able to maintain. I’ll update this post weekly to include the most recent pages the way I do with my main comics master post. All pages will be tagged 'Life After' and I'll tag any pages with zombies in them with 'zombie' for blacklisting etc.

Especially considering how his younger counterpart is continuing to frame everything; that even though he'd gone and willingly subjected himself to whatever his brother had put him through, he still puts the blame on himself for everything that had happened in his absence.

Sometimes, he thinks, he wishes the degrees of separation were that much greater between the both of them. That this special sort of guilt he'd already told the story of didn't have to go and be mirrored, even though a part of him knew that it would have been inevitable the moment the younger Stampede had put his mind to his plan.

Though Vash's bag of tricks to winding his way through social interactions is vast, these days it often feels empty, its contents too difficult tor each for. He's still having a hard time even faking eye contact, though he tries to keep himself affable enough. There's too much that sits at the back of his throat, wanting to be said but feeling too heavy to be let out into the air just yet. Wolfwood butting in is a welcome relief.

He takes the queue to stretch out his limbs, bunched as they'd been despite his current perch, sighs quietly as they crack for good measure. "Same here," he pipes up, arms over his head. "Don't know the layout a' this place all that well. Unless you both want me stickin' my nose everywhere."

The arrival had been nothing short of tense, and a little bit awkward. He'd been relieved to see his friend alive and home, and had been more than happy to hand the prosthetic (cleaned thoroughly, lost technology polished, in better shape than it had been went dumped on their doorstep) over to him.

What good hosts the younger pair had been to offer them drinks, to let them stay for dinner that's still slowly cooking. He's opted for just water for now, until the food's ready.

His eyes drift from the undertaker (their last interaction and his memories of the boy still lingering) to the younger typhoon across the table. One long leg stretches out, his toe nudging against Stamps' ankle.

This guy's doing his damn best to gloss over some pretty important information, saying some things that Wolfwood might have gotten on his ass about under different circumstances—might still get on his ass for, later. Still, it's his first time seeing him in... what now, three months?

No need for an argument, what good will that do?

"Hey," he says in a lull in conversation. The ice cubes clink against the glass in his cup as he sets it down on the table. He points to the opposite pair. "I gotta stretch my legs, gettin' restless sittin' here. Either one a' you chuckleheads wanna come along so I don't get lost?"

Jeremy approaches the other male cautiously, his eyes flicking over his face as he tries to figure out what sort of state of mind he’s in. He’s noticed it for a while now - the people hanging around Kai that no one else can see, and it’s not really a surprise. Not to him, at least. He knows Kai has killed people, and it’s not a stretch to think that the strong connection he’s formed with him is maybe enough for him to see the ghosts too - he’s seen others, after all, so they’re not the first. Not on them.” He doesn’t mention who ‘them’ is, but he’s sure they both know exactly what he’s talking about. “I’ll help you through this.” After all, this is pretty par for the course for him - he could help teach Kai about it, too.
