happy new year everyone!! i hope everyone had spent new years’ day ideally, be it with friends, family or even yourself :D 

so hey yo, i’m back again from a super long hiatus, and am also finally done with the (mind-wrenching and energy depleting) first semester of my first year in film school! and now that we are into the theory segment, everything has gotten much more laid back and manageable :’)) film school has been one of the best choices i have made, and i would not trade it for the world, but sometimes the hectic and sleep-deprived schedules could really get to you. 

also, i recently bought a sweet little planner from ezbuy and it’s honestly been so useful and convenient to start dat 2018 right,,,,,,and i finally got on to reading murakami, and what more could i say than it has been such a unique beautiful experience xx

Hey!:) I am studying film (which on a sidenote, i'm really excited about hehe) for the first time this April, and I was just wondering if there's anything that I have to take note of, being a freshie in film studies? Hello! Congratulations on going to study film! It’s so much fun!

I’m about to graduate so it’s been a while since I was a freshie but my general advice is;

Learn from others. You will never always have the answers, utilise your teams abilities to their full potential on set.

Go to film festivalsGreat way of meeting people and expanding your horizons as a filmmaker.

Try all the rolesYou wanna be a director? Cool. But it’s not the only role available even if it is the most recognised. Try everything and you may surprise yourself.

Keep up to dateKnow which films are nominated for the Oscars/BAFTAs, know the differences in the Premiere Pro updates - it just makes things less awkward when you are asked questions.

Go crazyFilmmakers are crazy people with even crazier ideas. Just try them out, experimenting is just a day-to-day part of art.

Watch films!Go to the cinema, watch the classics, watch experimental/avant-garde films. Just remember what made you want to make films in the first place.

Making films is one of the most rewarding things you can do as an artist (yes we are called artists out in the world!). As far as the written assignments go it really does depend on where you are studying. For me, I got to art school, so I do around 20% written work ( 2x 2000 word essays in year 1, 2x2500 words in year 2 and 1x8,000 dissertation in year 3). But my course is very practical based and theory is put into practice rather than written about so it can vary

I bought a Kanken bag in the size big at the very end of December (December 27th I believe) and I’ve decided to do a review since I didn’t really see many online when I was looking! I’ll also be providing images with this hella long review! I hope this is helpful ^^

Normally it costs $124 CAD but there was the Boxing Week sale going on that had a 20% off discount sale that brought the price down to $94 CAD (but with the $12 tax it was a total of $105). So this bag is on the waaay too pricey side.

Since it was over $69 CAD, shipping was free! I also received the bag in 2 days!!! It came in this black packet that had bubble wrap on the inside and inside that was another clear packet was my bag

Its really chic and I am in love with the look. but i’ve had it for about less than a month and it’s gotten so dirty :( the dust is very visible and if it gets scuffed a little, from the shipping (I think? I’m not sure... my bag had marks before I even got it) like mine, it’s very noticeable

What fits?

usually people only show things that fit inside travel wise and not school supplies, so that’s what I did since I’ll be using this as a school bag!

You can also fit some granola bars but I didn’t have any with me atm

2 full 2″ inch binders

1 empty 1″ inch binder (to substitute textbooks bc I left mine at school rip)

1 full pencil case 

1 pack of 10 Staedtler Triplus Fineliner

1 (pretty skinny) agenda

1 15.6″ inch laptop

there was actually a little bit more space left for smaller things. Though I couldn’t fit my water bottle in the pouch because the lack of space (if that makes sense). the pouch for water bottles is actually very skinny so only thin water bottles like the Smart Water bottles might fit. To be honest, I had higher expectations since people said that it fit so many things (esp. in the classic) and I’m lowkey scared my math and science textbook won’t fit with my 2 2″ inch binders.

Comfort:  ★★★★☆

Dude, its hella comfy. I have really bad back pain and my posture is so bad rip and just like the brand promises, it does help with the pain. I don’t know how to explain it but it’s always pressed against my back in a way so I’m forced to stand up straight (!!!) and unless it’s extremely heavy, I don’t usually bend forward.

It seems water resistant (I haven’t tested it yet) as stated on the site, and its seems durable like everyone says (again, I’ve only had this for about less than a month so I don’t know myself). The site also says that it’s Eco-friendly, so that’s a plus!

Overall rating:  ★★★★☆

I give it that because I would like more space personally and it gets dirty really fast and its noticeable. But I still love it!
