✨ recap time ✨
As Quincy settles in with Agatha, Sylphi pulls the party to the library table so they can attempt to find Ko Kiri’s home on a map. She’s able to locate it, but the area she hesitatingly points to is unmarked, and she admits that she’s not really supposed to tell anyone where she’s from.
The minute they figure out a travel route from Agatha’s forest to the mountains of Rocktom, Amoré begins the process of sending Ko Kiri on her way. Sylphi insistes that they need to walk her there, but Amoré puts her foot down on not being an escort service for wayward youths. They argue about it heatedly before Ko Kiri speaks up, saying she’s capable of making the trip alone, seeing as she made the trip down by herself anyways.
Sylphi unhappily obliges before leaving her to say goodbye to Diana while she goes to the kitchen to pack her some supplies for the road.
Amorè settles in at the table with Quincy, observing her demonstration of all the ways a gadget can explode. They begin chatting, and Quincy offhandedly asks about Amorè’s knowledge of “magic swords and gold lips.” The words are vaguely familiar to her, but Quincy dose not really elaborate or give her more context to work with. Instead, she asks if the Bellridge family has any hand in the religious world. Amorè bitterly admits she has not had any dealings in anything religious since she was very young.
Diana and Sylphi re-enter the cottage after seeing Ko Kiri off, and Sylphi chimes in that understanding religion takes effort. Amorè is immediately enraged at the insinuation that she didn’t try hard enough to keep her relationship with her Angelic Guide, and yells at Sylphi for assuming she knows anything about her situation. Sylphi tries to pacify her, and suggests that they talk it out. She is unsuccessful however, as Amorè goes on to remind Sylphi that she is still a stranger to her. And even if she wasn’t, that that is one of the last things she would ever talk about with any of them.
Quincy cuts through the tension by suggesting they all could benefit from some therapy. But before Amorè can redirect her anger on her, Diana speaks up to ask about the details of her research. She mentions recognizing God Items from her travels, and asks if Quincy had actually located any of them. Quincy admits that it’s a passion project of hers, that’s she’s not yet found the answers.
Amorè immediately wants to know what Quincy would do with these items if she could manage to track them down, given that things seem to explode under her watch. Quincy denies actually wanting them, assuring them that her interests are purely educational in nature.
Diana asks if Quincy could identify objects. Quincy says she’d be willing to take a look, and Diana pulls out a large purple orb from her pack. She tosses it towards Quincy, and Quincy…does not catch it.
It shatters the stone floor of Agatha’s sitting room like it weighs a ton, and Quincy frantically instructs Amorè and Sylphi not to touch it. If that orb is what she thinks it is, then it could kill them if they lay so much as a finger on it.
She’s absolutely flabbergasted that Diana was just casually tossing this around, given that she should not have been able to even pick it up in the first place. Diana does not reassure her as she admits that “they” said she should have does as well.

I love how I could have been done with this so much earlier but my brain insisted on stocking the pantry. I was about to draw a loaf of bread before I sat there for a full 10 seconds before going “…fuck, Sylphi would make artisanal sourdough…”

WIP Wednesday
Preview of the next chapter of A Life After
They walked through the doors to see Alistair chasing Sylphie across the room and her laughing. Assan followed them around letting out a happy squawk here and there. Emmrich was brewing some tea on the stove in the corner. Elissa sat at the table with Dav’ari on her lap showing her the mabari toys that Davrin had made them.
“You know I had a Mabari once,” said Elissa, “His name was Ohgren. I named him after a fierce Dwarven warrior who fought by my side years ago.”
“Wow really?” exclaimed Dav’ari.
“What did you name yours?” she asked. Rook smiled at them as he walked to the stove and poured himself a cup of coffee while Davrin joined the table.
“I don’t know,” Dav’ari held up the wooden toy in both hands as he spoke.
“Why don’t name it Maybel?” Rook asked as he came up behind him hugged the little boy with one arm and kissed his cheek. “How’s our boy?”
“Good morning Uncle Rook!” Dav’ari announced looking up at Rook. “Not Maybel that’d be silly!” At Dav’ari’s announcement, Sylphie stopped running from Alistair and looked at him as he sat next to Elissa and Davari.
“Uncle Rook!” she yelled as he ran over and climbed up his lap and into a hug.
“Hello little lady, how’re you this morning?” Rook made sure to sit his coffee far enough from them and hugged the little girl. Elissa smiled at them as Alistair sat down across from them. Davrin smiled at them as well, Rook could only assume that he had gotten a similar welcome when they first got there.
“I’m good,” said Sylphie as she started playing with Rook’s hair.
“Are you excited to spend a couple of days with your uncles?” asked Davrin.
“Yes.” The little girl smiled at him and looked at her hands.
“What did you guys think of Elissa and Alistair?” asked Rook, pretending to whisper to her but speaking loud enough for the room to hear.
“Alistair’s funny, and Elissa has pretty hair!” Syphie exclaimed.
“Why don’t you and your brother go play with Assan for a bit with your toys?” Rook kissed her forehead and let her down. Dav’ari got down from Elissa’s lap and the two children took their toys and ran over to where Assan was sitting and sat down on the floor.

End-of-Year Special 9: Snakemolt
The Tree-Blessed kept the wrath of the forest at bay with their spells. A parade of Moogles flitted in and out of the treeline, keeping things as calm as they could. The Wood Wailers and Gods’ Quiver marched on the outer edges of the group, but their numbers were thin and the civilian populace too large for them to keep a neat perimeter.
Sylphie stood near Beatin, who was shepherding the youngfolk. Normally, Nia’a would have been standing alongside her.
This was not any normal time.
The entire population of Gridania, barring those few who balked at the notion and opted to take their chances, was beginning a long and uncertain trek to the labyrinthine tunnels that had, once, centuries ago, been their home away from the persecution of the Elementals, and which today served as little more than a cellar for the ubiquitous Mun-Tuy beans. It was a long walk, in no small part because the Mun-Tuy Cellars were the only Gelmorran settlements still maintained by the people of Gridania, and were thus located at quite the distance from the city.
E-Sumi-Yan assured him that Nia’a was not responsible for the Greenwrath. Nia’a had acted according to sound priorities with the resources available at hand. It wasn’t his fault, the man assured him in the frustratingly kindhearted tones of someone who spent far too many hours coddling children and tending the ill.
Nia’a knew that, in the end, the Greenwrath was his fault. He had warned them that he wasn’t good for anything, that his presence would be a blight on the city and its entire operation, and still they had put the fate of the Twelveswood in his incapable hands. They assured him it was a routine task, a pilgrimage for children, and had overruled him when he conjectured that there was something more at play. So what if they had overruled his warnings as the inexperienced excuses of a coward?
It was in the middle of this emotional spiral that Nia’a saw the high walls of Quarrymill come into view. He felt a tap on his shoulder and turned to look. It was O-App-Pesi. The man beckoned Nia’a to follow, detaching from the group and walking south, toward a twisted rift of stone that, if Nia’a knew his geography, would feed into the Rootslake. O-App-Pesi stopped at a set of imposing stone gates marking the entrance to some Gelmorran ruin — no, this was older. This had to be Amdapori.
But Papalymo had issued the same counsel, and had been categorically overruled too, as a fellow outsider. So if the stain of woodsin was enough to render even an experienced advisor's words worthless, then maybe Gridania had messed up by telling its Hearers not to hear him. Maybe Nia'a could be angry at someone other than himself.
“Nia’a Tsara,” O-App-Pesi said. “I must thank you for your time at the Conjurers’ Guild. I am pleased that we have been able to teach you more about the extent of your powers — we had hoped to cultivate them into something strong, but you should know that your failings at Spirithold are not a reflection of your value. We are all placed here to grow and learn, to try and try again, and you mustn’t give in to despair or hopelessness.”
Finally, something inside Nia’a welled up. Something that had been a long time coming. “I’m grateful to you and E-Sumi-Yan for the experience as well. Just as I remain grateful to Pawah Mujuuk. And to Hearer Marmaduke. And to the cultists in Spirithold, who initiated this entire disaster. It is only through those experiences that I realized that you are the same.”
O-App-Pesi opened his mouth to speak, looking suddenly confused about the turn in the conversation, but Nia’a needed to say his piece — he needed to speak now or he would lose the nerve.
“I spent the past six to eight years wandering the woods in search of my father. I have served your city and your connection to the Elementals for that long. I have learned your history and I know of your bargain. I know what you are, Tree-Blessed. You are the fruit of a union between Gelmorran and Elemental. You are the conduit that ensures Gridania’s presence is tolerated.” Nia tried to stand taller, to give himself more willpower. “You. Not me. And you failed at this. Not me.”
O-App-Pesi’s face had never looked more childlike to Nia’a than it did now. Eyes wide, not in fear, exactly, but in some inscrutable emotion that made Nia’a almost lose his resolve again. But some words needed to be said. And something dark came over Nia’a, and the words that needed to be said used him as their conduit:
“Your people have your rituals. My people have mine. You’ve been lurking around to find out how my people do things. Your city has treated my people like we are all Pawah Mujuuk, and Pawah Mujuuk has treated me the same way, because when I met you and told you I was a Seeker of the Sun, I was telling half the truth. I have since learned of what Hearer Marmaduke did to my father all those years ago. You may denounce Marmaduke as a heretic just like I may denounce Pawah as a poacher, but Gridania paints Marmaduke as an exception and Pawah as the norm. But why should I care? In the end, I have a home to return to, and we have kept to our ways and our rituals.”
“Have you wondered why there are no Padjal—” Nia’a spat the foreign word as if it were a curse— “among the miqo’te? It is not because we are less divine than you. It is because we never caused a calamity that required divine intervention.”
The words spilling out of Nia’a’s mouth felt like a stranger’s. Nia’a didn’t believe anything he was saying, not one bit, and he would never dare speak this way to anyone, let alone one of the Tree-Blessed! But his body moved as if in a dream, and the beating drum of the Greenwrath was silent to his ears again — the murmuring of the Elementals had been silent since the ritual in Spirithold — and Nia’a had spent too many hours fussing over ritual and learning the ins and outs of everything that Tabit Tsalahn did every day to ensure that the clan never lost Menphina’s favor. It wasn’t different from the Tree-Blessed, and there were plenty of Dream Dancers that Nia’a now knew were just Hearers by another name. After Marmaduke's betrayal, Nia’a had scoured book after book to learn of the plight of the Wildlings, even with most books on the subject having been purged, and now an ancient divine judgment was back because of some Tree-Blessed ritual?
So all the thoughts that Nia’a had left to stew in his mind had turned rancid with the inaction on his part, and they had mingled with all the emotion he had buried away in favor of the terror that he fostered and groomed into a beast on a leash that kept him alive — and tonight, on the eve of a catastrophe that would be remembered for centuries, Nia’a had lost the restraint that made him himself. And instead, he stood here and listened to an ugly, bitter, hateful person wearing his name and skin and mind hurl cutting truths at the man who had lied to him in service of the greater good. And to Nia’a’s shame, it felt satisfying.
But then O-App-Pesi said something in response that Nia’a would never have expected.
“Divine intervention, indeed. You see, the Lambs of Dalamud — the cultists who broke the covenant — are ardent followers of Menphina themselves.”
* * *
This is probably the single largest departure from the spirit of the MSQ of all of the HtGHA storylines. Limsa's story was already solid, and Ul'dah's just needed a bit of rearranging to accommodate my characters, but Gridania just felt like it was missing something. So, voilà. Greenwrath.
We're close to the end, folks! Tomorrow we'll see another blasphemous encounter with the divine, and then we'll wrap it up for the year 2024. See you soon!

Sylphie and Rudeus equally down bad. A match made in heaven lol. Sylphie imagining how many kids Rudeus would want to put in her while laughing nervously had me crying man. She’s innocent and cute.

If your friends don’t gas and support you like Ariel supports Sylphie with the Rudeus situation, get new friends. Ariel’s got the whole situation back in her kingdom to deal with and her main priority right now is making sure her friend who has been loyal to her for years is happy. That’s so real.

Sylphie keeping the storm clouds together as she and Rudeus walked, in order to trick him into setting up camp in the cave, was just as funny as I’d imagined it when reading. They did cut from that scene a bit where Sylphie imagines buying Rudeus in a slave market. They kind of teased it because she goes “buying Rudeus” internally, but in the LN her thoughts were more explicit.

The “please undress me” scene is probably the most original and intimate confession I’ve seen, at least in a very long time. The parallels back to episode 3 of season 1 in which Rudeus undressed Sylphie and learnt that she was a girl, now doing the same and learning that Fitz is his Sylphie is so perfect. One of the many examples of why I love this series. You just don’t usually see this type of attention to detail in a fantasy LN.

Took a lot of courage for Sylphie to go through with this plan and it never would’ve happened without Ariel’s help so shoutout to her for reuniting two lost friends lol.
Bind delivered in this episode big time. Quality and faithfulness to the chapter(s) were immaculate. If you don’t speak Japanese or didn’t pay attention to the episode titles you may have missed the last 2 episodes titles “Kono kimochi” and “anata e tsuetai” combine to mean I want to convey these feelings to you. Just very beautiful. Well done Bind. Only omissions were Rudeus enjoying Sylphie calling his staff thick and playing with it and the aforementioned sex market stuff

FFXIV Write 2024 - Day 30 - Two Heads Are Better Than One
In the Acorn Orchard, three conjurors meet to ponder the Starlight Celebration and what to get for their mentor E-Sumi-Yan.
Featuring Iskra, Sylphie and Gatty.
A bird, maybe. Iskra carefully turned the small piece of wood in his hand. He examined the grain and judged the size of the piece carefully. Or a bee, Gridania was well known for its honey. Particularly the East Shroud.
He considered both as conversation flowed around him. There was a small discussion on what to Master E-Sumi-Yan for the Starlight Celebration.
It was Sylphie's idea. Most of their adventures were, with himself and Gatty following after her. Alaqa spent most of her time with Raya-O when she wasn't training.
"A bluebird, mayhaps." He uttered, earning a look from both girls. Slyphie had had the knowledge to sit on the side of his good ear, while Gatty sat on the other. "I've heard they are good luck."
Sylphie let out a small sigh, "So you weren't listening."
Gatty on the other hand seemed to be thinking something over. Her gaze was on the clouds but she had briefly looked at the piece of ash wood in Iskra's hands.
"We don't really know what he would like, do we?" She said after another moment of thought, earning a nod from both Iskra and Sylphie. Their shared mentor did not speak much of himself. Or perhaps it had never occurred to them to ask.
Iskra glanced at her, "I think he would be happy with almost anything from you two." And he imagined, a little surprised.
"Hmm..." Sylphie looked at Gatty and then at Iskra. "Do you think you could teach us?"
"To whittle?" Iskra questioned, carefully avoiding the girls' gazes. He could already feel the puppy dog eyes bearing down on him. He could also picture exactly how much trouble he would be in should the two hurt themselves with knives. "No. Sorry. How about painting?"
"Painting?" Sylphie questioned, brow raised.
"Yes." He noted quietly before explaining, "I whittle. You paint."
Gatty brightened at the idea. "And we can make a card while you work."
"Hm. That may work." Sylphie agreed, "A bluebird you said."
Iskra nodded gently. They were both nice girls. He would have to make them both ginger cookies for the Starlight Celebration. Once he was done with his whittling.

Ranking arr class quests from lamest to coolest
Ff14 has a lot of jobs. And we all love them for different reasons. One of said reasons often includes the job quests, which help with contextualizing the flavor and place they have on the land of eorzea as a whole.
But what about the first step before achieving said job?
Today, im going to rank all the class quest plots in a realm reborn, from what i consider to be the most poorly executed, to the best story in this batch of content. This includes every starter combat job from levels 1 through 30. So no hw jobs who start in arr territory nor crafters or gatherers.
9.- Gladiator
The most boring of the class quests by a mile. The whole guild feels like a bunch of wannabee heroes who stick out their heads in places they shouldnt, and aldin, the focus character, kinda steals all the spotlight from the guild and the wol, even in the final lvl 30 duty. Mylla is cool otherwise and seeing every single gladiator sent to do plot things being near death in an obvious trap is something hilarious to me. And the plot to poison the sultana is funny on hindsight cause its not going to be the first time it happens.
Overall kinda boring, and still, it was better than dealing with paladin after hw
8.- Archer
Xenophobia: the class quest. While it is a good story that contextualizes the systemic issues thst gridania has, the main conflict between Silvairre and Leih isn't entertaining to watch. And the fact that the elezen's shittiness isn't really adressed and leih just kinda puts up with so they get along. And the whole "subduing the vil poachers" feels off when you consider the lore of the keepers of the moon in the twelveswood and their whole "actually living in peace with the elementals and being branded as poachers by the gridanians" all ends up leaving a bad aftertaste in ones mouth.
7.-Lancer
Drk isnt edgy as Dragoon is, and its predecessor is also quite edgy at times. Lancer quest focus character is Folques, who is yet another victim of gridania's aggressive culture towards outsiders, except he is a murderous bastard who thinks that getting stronger via murder is cool. So we prove he's wrong as we become stronger by killing him instead.
Overall kinda meh story about a rude rival that foreshadows some of the themes of revenge to occur in heavensward and stormblood.
6.- Conjurer
Weird how all gridanian class quests are relatively low.
However, conjurer is one i genuinely enjoy. Sylphie is sn amazing character and the explanation of the way conjury works is so good. Reason of it being a tad low, is because e sumi yan is a bad teacher, and sylphie is a terrible student. Other than that, im happy they returned for sb whm quest, closing a book on conjurer in a really good way that ill speak about later.

5.- Arcanist
Our favorite custom officers are a fun quest for beginners, fitting as summoner is the easiest job in the game. I particularly love k'lyhia's energy, as well as how the job includes aspects of its future job incarnations and its own core with her. The power of the summoner and the strategic might of the scholar.
Only complain is that i miss k'lyhia, and i need to see her in dawntrail.

4.- Marauder
You kinda just break rocks and chase after a big animal for 30 levels. Which is to say, they make work with what they had, and had to set in the conflict between beast and man to follow up with Gorge in warrior. Its not terrible, but its obviously just there for the warrior set dressing.

3.- Pugilist
Slapstick plot. The most hilarious class quest solely because hamon is such a riot to be with, abd his solo duty when you kicks his ass and he starts to level up is the best gag in all of a realm reborn. Besides that, the quest isnt particularly memorable besides the average ul'dahn crime sindicate plot.

2.- Thaumaturge
The cocogang is just shadow wizard money gang if it was real. I really love their whole "evil priest that do shady things in the shadows" except the shadows are 2 feet away from the place they do burials and stuff. basically they are all chunnibyious and im all here for it. Plotwise is really cool; it introduces voidsent and also adds some fun conflict in the form of the youngest -and magically deficient- of the coco brothers, and it ends with all of them broadening their horizons. whats not to love about this gang of arsonists?

1.- Rogue
The last addition to the basic classes, also is my personal favorite class plotwise. The rogues guild is full of character and so fun to have around. The whole concept of them being the actual people who punish pirates for their heinous crimes is genius, and the dumb rivalry they have with the yellowjacket captain is hilarious in the same way that lupin the 3rd does with inspector zenigata, and that one gag of Jacke being hanged in the hooks upstairs because he ate a sandwich is hysterical. couldnt expect less from ishikawa.
if i had to nitpick, is that the job loses me a lot aesthetics wise when it becomes ninja instead.
Will make a ranking of the arr job quests later when i feel like it. hope yall understood the weird ramblings of my mind
#ff14#a realm reborn#class quests ff14#rogue#marauder#gladiator#thaumaturge#conjurer#arcanist#pugilist#lancer#archer#Alex plays ff14#alex shouts to the void

Rebirth
I died and I have been reborn. No, literally, I'm back baby and I'm a teenager, though I'm not quite sure how I feel about That yet. It remains to be seen, I guess. I'm already beginning to forget my former life, so I'd best get this all out while I have a chance. I hope Reed will be ok without us. Losing us both on the same day is rough, really rough, but I know I have to leave it alone. I can't help him. And Julien, where will he turn up I wonder. Will we meet again? Will we recognize one another? I hope so. I hope I don't truly forget him. Sigh. Ever onward.
Speaking of family, I now have an older brother, Daniel and a cat (I love cats!), Sylphie. Just look at the little pudding! And I look much the same, though younger of course. Not bad if I do say so myself.
High school is a trip let me tell you! I spent most of the day mortified for one reason or another and half of the time I wasn't even sure why. I've already made a few friends and reconnected with an old acquaintance, Henry Westin, and his friend Thaniel Delacroix. I'm grateful that I wasn't completely on my own as I don't know that I would have handled things half as well without them. On that note, I have homework :P

When you sneak into a speak easy to find out who hired a bunch of mercenaries to set fire to your Aunt’s(?) enchanted forest…but you end up getting distracted by an arm wrestling match.
Amoré volunteered Diana to compete against the current champion for shits & giggles. But Diana declined & was subsequently mocked by the current reigning champion, prompting Sylphi to jump in to defend her honor. Yeah, Sylphi was spat on for her efforts…
So naturally she became the next challenger & summoned her Bear Totem to absolutely decimate the guy. She was then able to convince Diana to a few friendly matchs afterwards, which Amoré took full advantage of by opening up a betting pool since they both got enhanced strength from the Spirit Totem. She made a lot of money that afternoon.
Oh and they picked up a bodyguard job. But more on that later…
We made it to Arc 2 guys!

Wowza, what an episode. Turning point 3 is here to remind people why Mushoku Tensei is the greatest isekai ever. It may not have had the action of the previous turning points, but just as good if not better. The purpose of these has always been to change the direction of fate for characters in the story and this delivered.

Amazing episode from start to finish. Loved the focus on Rudeus’ relationship with his sisters. Obviously Norn got a ton of development and focus last week and it’s great seeing them get on well, but I’m happy we got a lot of Aisha focus this week. Her cute little begging face when she and Rudeus went curtain shopping was so adorable, Rudeus couldn’t help but go along with everything she wanted, and who can blame him. Staying away from the brother sister incest route too I see “dad would kill me..”😂

But man the look on Rudy’s face when he found out Sylphie was pregnant. Such a beautiful moment that really hits at the deeper attachment and abandonment issues that Rudeus has had as a character.

One of his biggest regrets is the breakdown of his family relationship in his previous life, so wanting a family of his own and being surrounded by loved ones has always been so important to him this go around. Now that he’s a husband and going to be a father, this is literally a dream come true for my boy and I’m so happy for him. The “thank you” he gave Sylphie was so heartfelt. She cured his condition, made him a husband and now a father. Best girl
Speaking of regrets, the man God conversation again brought up another character point with Rudeus. He’s always been terrified of leaving regrets in this life after living a life full of them in his previous world. But regrets are an unavoidable part of life. We can never know everything that’s coming at us and we’ll all make mistakes or be put in difficult situations and just have to go with our best judgment like Rudeus is with the zenith rescue. Having regrets is part of being alive and human.
While the Pursena and Linia mating season thing is tempting, that’s your mom at the end of the day and no way Rudeus was going to leave his parents in trouble like that. That ideal dream he had back in Buena of his entire family being happy around the table requires.. well.. the entire family. That means it’s off the Begaritt next week. Can’t wait to see this 🙏🏾 I’m sure the greyrat sisters will hold it down Rudeus.

Plus like Zanoba who’s obviously known for giving out the wisest takes in the series said, “children can grow without their fathers watching” which of course is a nice nod to Rudeus’ development post teleportation incident.
On a side note, it’s hilarious how Aisha and Norn went from one hating Rudeus and one loving him to now competing over which one can get more of his affection lol, that’s what we call character development

Amazing episode, could go on about it all day, but without a doubt best mushoku episode so far.

I am honestly kind of impressed that they got to remix a song from a licensed video game in Project X Zone and the fact that they managed to somehow get away with it.
This is nothing new for the series though, because in Namco X Capcom, Sylphie's special attack has her cosplaying as different Capcom characters, and one of them was Linn Kurosawa from the Alien Vs. Predator Capcom games. I'm not joking.
Speaking of Project X Zone and movies, that reminds me! Does anyone here know about Capcom's fighting game series called Star Gladiator? I hope I'm not the only one who does.
I'm bringing this up because June from Star Gladiator appears as a solo unit in Project X Zone 2. Bear in mind that Star Gladiator was originally going to be a Star Wars fighting game, until they decided to make it into a completely new and original Capcom IP.
I'm glad they went down for the route of making Star Gladiator :D Because I'm pretty sure June from that game wouldn't exist if it was a Star Wars fighting game instead. And that would mean that June wouldn't be in Project X Zone 2 as a result :(
For the 11th anniversary of Project X Zone's NA release, today's useless PXZ fact is going to be a very special one.
I'm going to be talking about...licensing! I'm pretty sure you know where this is going.
That's right, I'll be talking about the songs from the first Project X Zone that were removed from the international releases due to licensing issues.
There are 10 songs that were removed from the international releases of Project X Zone, and here they all are:
Wing Wanderer (Opening theme)
Galaxy (Ending theme)
ROCKS (Super Robot Wars: Original Generation)
Over the Clouds (God Eater)
Ring a Bell (Tales of Vesperia)
Cathedral ~ Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground (.hack//INFECTION)
Mexican Flyer (Space Channel 5)
If You Wish For It (Valkyria Chronicles III)
World's Love (Shining Force EXA)
High Rise to Hell (Die Hard Arcade)
First up are the original songs, Wing Wanderer and Galaxy, the former being the opening theme and the latter being the ending theme of Project X Zone.
Both were removed in the international releases, with Wing Wanderer being replaced with an instrumental song that suspiciously sounds like it, while Galaxy is replaced with a rendition of the opening theme from the international releases of PXZ.
The orchestral version of Wing Wanderer was also replaced for the same reason in the international releases.
ROCKS by JAM Project is the opening theme of Super Robot Wars: Original Generations, a remake of the first two OG games.
In Project X Zone, ROCKS would play during the 2nd half of chapter 27, as well as in Haken and Kaguya's multi-target attack.
In the international releases, ROCKS was removed and instead, the main theme of Endless Frontier, which is In the Land Beyond Endless "Time", would play in the 2nd half of chapter 27 as well as in Haken and Kaguya's multi-target attack.
Over the Clouds is the opening theme song of the first God Eater game, and it was remixed in Project X Zone for Soma and Alisa's special attack, which is appropriately called Over the Clouds. The song also plays during their multi-target attacks.
The song was completely removed in the international releases and as a result, Endless Erosion would play in their special and multi-target attacks instead.
Aside from that, but the song God and Man -Shall We Meet Again-, the theme song of Lindow both in God Eater and Project X Zone, became one of Soma and Alisa's theme songs in the game.
Ring a Bell is the main theme of Tales of Vesperia, and is one of the theme songs of the Yuri and Estelle in Project X Zone.
In the international releases, their theme songs are Fury Sparks and The Cold Morning Star Passes By instead, with the former song also playing during their special attack and the latter song also playing during their multi-target attack.
This was completely averted in the sequel, Project X Zone 2, as Ring a Bell was kept in the game's international releases.
The Cathedral theme from the first .hack game is the song that would play whenever Aura would show up in Project X Zone, but that was removed in the international releases. So whenever Aura appeared, Stairs of Time, .hack//LINK's theme song, as well as Kite and BlackRose's theme song in Project X Zone, would play instead.
Like with Ring a Bell, this was also averted in Project X Zone 2, as the Cathedral theme has been kept in that game too.
Mexican Flyer serves as Ulala's theme song in this game. It's the song that plays in the first level of Space Channel 5.
In the international releases, it's been replaced by Coco Tapioca's theme song.
And just like with Ring a Bell and the Cathedral theme, this was also averted in PXZ2, as Mexican Flyer was kept in the international releases.
If You Wish For It is the opening theme song of Valkyria Chronicles III. In Project X Zone, it serves as Kurt and Riela's main theme.
In the international releases, it was replaced with the Valkyria Chronicles theme song, Valkyria's Awakening. It also serves as the theme song of their special and multi-target attacks.
Their other theme song is Open Fire! which is also Imca's theme both in Valkyria Chronicles III and Project X Zone.
World's Love is the opening theme song of Shining Force EXA, and also Toma and Cyrille's theme song in Project X Zone.
In the international releases, their theme song instead is Hope, the hub world song in their home game, Shining Force EXA.
And lastly, High Rise to Hell, the song that plays from Die Hard Arcade, which is obviously based on the Die Hard film.
Obviously, this was removed in the international releases to avoid any sort of association with the Die Hard franchise.
That's also the reason why Bruno's design got changed in the international releases of Project X Zone, so he wouldn't resemble John McClane, the main protagonist of Die Hard, who is portrayed by Bruce Willis.
This would mean that Bruno no longer resembled John, and to an extent, Bruce Willis.
Now as for Bruce's theme song in the international releases of Project X Zone, his theme song is now a remix of one of the songs from Dynamite Cop, the game where he came from.
His theme song in Project X Zone is now Poop Deck Pursuit. I kid you not, that's the actual name of the song.
And that's the end of the thread! Well that was a lot to unpack. I have nothing else to say except...happy 11th anniversary to Project X Zone's NA release ❤
I'll be celebrating again this October, because the game will actually turn 12 years old this year!

TMA FINALE SPOILERS
-------
These are just my thoughts. Overall, I'm happy with the events of the ending. I liked the final statement, I liked the ambiguous fate of jm, the sound design and voice acting was impeccable and it's amazing to see how far the RQ team has come from recording under a duvet cover. I was happy to hear the end with the girls and hear about the Admiral, and of course The Kiss. My only complaint really was that it felt a tad rushed. I could have done with another 5-10 minutes with actually seeing Jon sneak off to do his plan alone, have a few more moments with Jon having ultimate power, and just a bit longer with the girls dealing with the "deaths" of their friends and the rebuilding of the world
Most importantly though it was satisfying which was a nice change of pace after a plethora of crappy endings to the stories I've enjoyed in the past few years. I'm filled with hope instead of dread. Thank you for the fantastic year to everyone at RQ and to all the friends I've made through this podcast.
