with chaotic velocity, freefall gambit and this event stories, we are frequently seeing sylus the leader of the n109 zone, the man with the highest bounty, the only one to have ever escaped space prison. this feels like infold is cooking with sylus main branch

don’t get me started on the fact that sylus has continuously brought up joining onychinus and we were adamant on not but this time look at our change in response

something terrible is going to happen to us or a tragedy will befall onto linkon, sylus can sense it’s coming

i feel like this is foreshadowing that we will finally agree to leave the hunter association and join him to finally go all out in finding out the mastermind behind ever and what they plan to do with our aether core

One of my biggest desires in this life is to lie flat on a bed with Sylus lying on top of me. Not even naked or in a sexual way or anything. We could simply cuddle or he could be asleep or whatever idgaf as long as he'd be on top of me.

Idc if my puny ass would get crushed, feeling his full body weight on me is a need not a want and in life sacrifices must be made to achieve Nirvana. Which is what I imagine being buried beneath Sylus' mass of muscle would feel like. Bonus points if his big beautiful nose is buried in the crook of my neck like... I'd truly ascend to a higher plane right then and there byyye

And by no means physically.

You were exhausted, body and soul, but what really weighed you down was your heart.

Your heart ached like you'd never felt it before.

It was unbearable.

Sylus didn't say a word, asked no questions.

A mere look at you told him all he needed to know.

He opened his arms wide for you and you slumped into him. The second you buried your face in his chest, your shoulders started shaking violently, hiccups emerging from your throat, directly from the depths of your sobbing heart.

You sank into him bonelessly, no longer strong enough to hold yourself together. You'd exhausted all will.

And he wrapped his arms around you, buried his nose in your hair and whispered sweet nothings, held you tight enough to ground you, cradled you and your weary soul in his hands.

You sobbed and sobbed into his chest and he let you, encouraged you.

"It's okay, sweetie... let it all out," he told you.

And you did.

The tears flowed like a river and you let them.

You sobbed until your throat was sore and his shirt was soaked through.

And he let you.

For Sylus, street racing was nothing more than a means to an end.

He had his reasons, some less morally acceptable than others, but nonetheless the rationality of his decision making could never be questioned. Nor anybody had ever tried to do so, certainly not with the amount of sheer authority Sylus emanated, enveloping all that was around him in a thick, sticky layer of awe and fear. Or perhaps, those two were just simply synonymous in their own, twisted way. Not like it mattered in the very end. Too much of either would inevitably result in him being left alone and unbothered, which was something Sylus longed for dearly.

Before he instructed his henchmen to purchase his car of choice, an impressively well kept Dodge Challenger, and made his very own tweaks to it in the quiet of his garages, Sylus had spent countless hours riding through the city on a vintage motorcycle. In a way, it helped him out when it came to street racing. Although the feeling of it was vastly different, he knew his way around the emptied streets and openly used that to his advantage. Ever the inventor, he kept surprising his rivals with the most peculiar of improvements, all of which he thought of, and constructed, entirely by himself.

The time Sylus made an appearance in the bustling nightlife spots of Linkon City was similarly particular. He was the right person at the right moment, in a place as good as any. And though he didn't exactly long for all the recognition he'd been receiving since he started racing, it certainly did earn him plenty of useful, more or less extorted, connections he was oh, so excited to put to use.

It was true, however, that after a while of getting everything he could ever wish for and more, even competing in such adrenaline boosting activities inevitably began to bore him.

That was, of course, until he heard a certain rumour one night. Sylus spotted it in passing; it was obvious that no one would dare to tell him that straight to his face. It'd been weeks since he moved all his endeavours to Linkon and staying on top proved to be less of a challenge than solving a crossword from the morning paper.

Apparently there was a reason his rivals were severely lacking in skill and experience – Sylus managed to kickstart his underground career mere days after the previous champion, sporting a name eerily similar to his own, almost kicked the bucket during a race. And now, having been brought back to a useful state once again, you were about to reclaim your number one spot.

And as soon as you were fully ready to take on that challenge, Sylus would be waiting, with a worn out leather jacket thrown over his shoulder and that one, specific quirk of his lips that didn't make him look any less intimidating whatsoever.

Oh, how enraged you were at that moment.

"That is just absurd!" Your arms spun in the air with fervour. "I need that done by tonight. Am I speaking gibberish?"

The woman in front of you shrugged, apparently not very moved by your display of force. "Yeah, well, and I need some utter peace and quiet. What do you have to say about that?"

"This is fucking insane. Insane! I cannot go back like that!"

You pointed at your beloved Mazda, now situated on a car jack in an almost compromising position. It looked positively miserable, with its mismatched rims and bits of chipped paint here and there. An image of utter and complete despair. Much like you, it had been through hell and back, and somehow made it out okay. You weren't just going to let her go as though it was all nothing.

The mechanic sighed audibly, wiping her hands off with a questionably dirty cloth, then sat down next to you.

"If you were to ask me," she began cautiously, much like one would approach a bomb of unknown origin. "I'd say that people will love that shit. Rose from the ashes and whatnot. It sells."

"I don't care what 'sells'. The only thing I need is to show that poor excuse of a racer where his place is – below me."

She scoffed, apparently deciding to give up on your case and therefore leaving you with your own problems.

"You know, Ruby..." She glanced at you above her shoulder before stepping out. "A skilful driver will never blame their ride. It's a shame, though. I really thought that you'd be among them."

You would make them all swallow their words back up. Onyx included. Him especially.

Only him.

Revisited the story branches from "Prologue to Tomorrow" and I may have some theories, please bear with me.

Contains spoilers for "Death and Rebirth"; speculation about future story updates; ramblings and probably won't make sense

So, in Xavier's branch, we meet Soren; in Zayne's we meet Carter. I have a feeling we'll end up seeing Soren again in a new main story update like we have with Carter. I also have a feeling that Soren will also be affiliated with Ever just like Carter was in Zayne's chapters in Death and Rebirth.

In all three branches of Prologue to Tomorrow, we have the radio-frequency chip that causes the wanderers to show up. In all three branches, it was revealed that these chips are a product from Ever. In Xavier's and Zayne's branches, it's implied that both Soren and Carter planted the chips to cause the appearance of the wanders; and in both cases, defeating the wanderer lead to us claiming parts of the Spatium Core.

I believe the new story update will involve Xavier and Rafayel in some way. I think we'll end up having a storyline with Xavier that's similar to what we had with Zayne's in the latest story update. I think that with MC absorbing the Spatium Core, the things we see in Xavier's and Zayne's story in Prologue to Tomorrow are slowly becoming reality.

In both cases, MC and the boys were transported to a protofield that's affiliated with a negative memory or dream. In Xavier's, we're transported to Starfall Forest and in Zayne's, we're taken into his nightmares about the Dawnbraker timeline.

In the recent story update, Zayne enters the Dawnbraker state, and proceeds to do the exact thing that Dawnbreaker does in his timeline, which is killing people who are turning into wanderers. I feel like where MC absorbed the Spatium Core, it's caused some of the timelines to converge into the current one.

I also think that this affect Rafayel too. In his story branch in Prologue to Tomorrow, we know Ever wanted Jewel Reef because it had the Spatium Core located at the bottom of the blue hole, plus it's possible ties to Lemuria. Rafayel was able to reach the Tome of the Sea God and reclaim the power of the sea along with getting the Spatium Core that was in the Tome (he was drawn to the Spatium Core in the Tome).

I know that recently people are concerned that the new myth for him will involve him forgetting us, but what if it's part of the main story? We know that he had a moment of forgetting us after reclaiming the power. He also said that he must answer the sea's call after reclaiming its power. I wonder where MC absorbed the Spatium Core if this will reactivate Rafayel going into "Sea God" state, causing him to forget MC like he did in Land of Secret Flames.

it just so happens the devs have been spoiling us with the best fluff for like, several cards in a row (Magnum Opus, Chaotic Velocity, and Where Hearts Live). so the next update for Sylus will probably bring all the angst.

He's my type on paper, I fear. My husband even said "uh oh" when I was going down the list of his glowing attributes until I said 'but his EN voice sounds like my 17 year old plug back in high school that used to play sonic games on his emulator' So I'm saved only because Caleb's EN VA doesn't come close to clearing Sylus's VA for me. In fact, it has the opposite effect and I think Caleb sounds like a total dork (affectionate but doesn't tickle my auralism at all and makes him sound much less intimidating in his previews). I fear I would have folded if I played in CN or another language, but I don't because I'm too attached to Sylus's voice in English. (btw this is not a hater post, im happy caleb girls are happy he's coming home but im also happy that im still devoted to Sylus amen)

it’s canon that sylus thinks of the twins and us as family but can you imagine sylus explaining his dad lore to them

im pretty sure after he adopted them, he explained how precious and important we are to him because look at what the twins say upon our first meeting

notice how they said we and not he. they’ve already accepted us as their mom and found ways to get us together in the early stages of our relationship
