I'm newsih to art! I haven't been creative for a really long time. I'm trying to get better and will try to post updates on my progress.

I'll post wips, sketches, digital art, and maybe some paintings!

🎂 Birthday Yapp Post 🎂

today is our bday!! and we promised to yapp about Velvet and how her fursona and demon forms work! 💜

so the TL;DR is that Velvet as a fursona is a representation of our plurality and her forms represent our alters, and our OC Mist/Stella is a representation of another one of our alters. they all share the same crescent moon tattoos on their left shoulder, and the same piercings!

below we'll go into detail about the process behind Velvet and Mist/Stella as OCs, and show a little bit of our old art and talk about our upcoming plans :3

so Velvet as an OC started back in late october after i had started art after a 5 month art break, and i wanted to explore my identity as a furry and a therian.

i've always resonated with demons and cats, and thought of myself as both of those things! so those were the first things i experimented with c:

with the initial design i based velvet's design off my own appearance and clothing.

after designing velvet as a cat though, it didn't really feel right. there was something about it that both equally felt right and wrong, so i wanted to explore her as a red panda next since i've always felt a kinship with them c:

the red panda felt right, but it also had that same "wrong" feeling as before and i didn't really know why!

in november, we discovered we were plural and we immediately began to incorporate it into our art (or perhaps, we had always incorporated into our art, we just didn't know it)

in terms of alters, Velvet represents Sophia (the host) and Velvet (the co-host) with the demon form, and the red panda form respectively!

we wanted a few commonalities in velvet's designs, which started as the same hair, eyes and similar body type! we continue to explore velvet's two forms as the two hosts of our system, and we further refined their designs over the next few months.

we really like foxes, so we designed a lover for velvet - an OC named Auri (they/she) who isn't based on an alter in our system (to our knowledge)

at this point in velvet's design, the only commonalities between the two designs was the hair style, hair colour and the eye colour!

it was intentional, because when we first became self aware as plural we were similar in terms of personality and identity but as time went on we've become more and more different from each other but have maintained that sort of interconnected bond between us.

some more art of Velvet and Auri from december, and also our OC Ashe (they/them) who we haven't really explored since but we want to absorb her design into some future plans we have for Velvet c:

at the end of december we were drawing more and more of Velvet in her red panda form, and we were experimenting a lot with her design and incorporating some older elements from older designs.

we started drawing her with more and more piercings, and this is one of the common design elements between my alters' fursonas.

in january, we added another common design element between our alters; a crescent moon tattoo on the left shoulder. velvet still has the same eye and hair colour in both designs, but that's something that might change in the future. we also changed their body type, because both of us have different ideas for what we want our body to look like.

we've been experimenting with both of their designs with each art piece and trying to represent ourselves more accurately.

you might be wondering about the cat fursona, that is actually something we've been thinking about, we would like to represent Sophia's identity as a cat furry in the future through Velvet but it's something we're unsure how to approach!

maybe it'll be a third form? who knows! 💜

this is our alter Mist/Stella, and it's fursona. as was mentioned earlier in the post we really like bunnies, and we wanted to make a bunny fursona at one point but it didn't feel quite right.

however, Mist/Stella feels a lot of kinship with bunnies and also sees herself as one and we've been working on her design behind the scenes and we're happy to finally show off some glimpses.

she's an angelic bunny with big floppy ears and big wings. the wings can be hidden, and we wanted to sort of have this "slightly fallen" angel aesthetic to her. she's also non-verbal and we chose to represent this by drawing her without a mouth.

some of the elements of it's design are personal, but she shares the same piercings and crescent moon tattoo as both of Velvet's forms, but it's important to recognize as an individual it isn't Velvet.

What's Next?

well, as you've seen we explore our furry identity and plurality through our art and that's something we're going to keep doing. we want to refine our style, continue experimenting and keep improving!

as for actual plans, we want to eventually design that cat fursona for Sophia, and also we have other alters.. such as an angry shark with major attitude issues.

YEAH the next one shot does include some themes on age gap and guilt and....Mia knows this cause I had the idea in dms lmao. Tango has some very recent backstory that I've trying to impliment now. He's such a neat character to me. like, super hot (I cant believe I wrote him so hot I have to tone it back omfg) and also ORGANIZED!!!!! He's a man who had everything planned to a T and I love that so so so so so much because Jimmy's head is such a mess he needs someone that will just be like "no, we're doing this" and let him let go AOUGH STICKS RANCHERS

...I'd like to say i'd strangle moe 5? but like at the same time thats my baby. I was just yapp with worm about the main themes of MoE and how I plan to impliment them NOW to have a big part LATER. and like, the love for her is still there. I have an exact plan for five, i know what themes i wanna cover and how I want the chapter to flow. the problem lies within my ability to find the words. they've come to me. they always do.

As to the yapping, it's been fine for the most part. It's the same old stress, mostly because they made up some new stuff to torture us with, and everyday I'm regretting wanting to become a software developer worse and worse. But that's fine, I can just write fanfic to furries if all else fails

I mentioned this on the discord already, but we went to a sushi place today which is known for letting you eat as much as you can (with that running thingy that's also in factories) called Wasabi, and I'm not hungry anymore! :D I won't be for like, an hour or two more, which is great!

I also experienced shenanigans while writing my new thing, and now the Titanfall fic is becoming closer and closer to reality, as is For you slowly but surely (give me strength for that one). I just wish some random person who writes stuff exactly how I'd love it could just write these things already, it's getting old by this point having to wait for myself to do it :(

As Moongleam mentioned, today we went to an all you can eat sushi place, and it was amazing. We spent almost 2 hours (like 1 and a half more) doing nothing but eating, it was so good. Getting up, and then going home with public transport though? Not so much

Also the running thingy that's also in factories thet Moongleam talks about is conveyor belt. I think she forgot the word for it, and I'm not gonna tell her, because I'm a jerk. >:)

I'm doing just fine, having fun with a Warrior Cats fangame (it's Clangen for anyone curious), having my two little Clans, one of them is called ShadeClan, and the other is FogClan. FogClan was somehting the clan name generator gave, which is incredibly funny cause I mentioned once or twice that I'm (very slowly, please someone hit me with a stick, I have so many work in progresses from even fandoms I'm not active parts of anymore!) on a Warrior Cats TSAMS AU, and one of the clans is called FogClan there too (they're kind of the chill, laid back clan, but also full of pranksters, because as the name suggests, their territory is constantly covered by fog of variable thickness, and they all have very light fur colours that help them blend in. They're also incredibly silent, so they like popping up behind other clan cats and spook them)

Also I'm currently scruffing Killer Sun and shaking him around in my jaws like in the Jurassic Park movie the T-Rex did with the lawyer. I love him. And I'm doing the same thing with Mirror SEA's cast too. Not Solar though. He is held gently like hamburger.

Also the envy towards shapeshifters grows everyday. If I could be a shapeshifter, or be an entity made of nanomachines, I would shed this awful human shell and fully become Creature. Would probably look like a trio of individuals from For You, who I already mentioned once in a Yapp Time thing, Peanut Butter, Jelly or Grape. They're very shaped, and I can't wait for Moongleam to finally write it and for them to show up.

Not sure why I’m doing this… heh heh… I just saw the Mail Office offered this “send a message to a random person who won’t get to see it until many years into the future” service and it seemed like a great opportunity to just ramble.

I’m currently on my last semester of uni at (INAUDIBLE), project presentation week is coming and I have been up for three days straight now! I really hope I’m able to get my title.

Being the youngest in class has been really hard these past 4 years. Being a (INAUDIBLE)teen year old in college, everyone both doubts you’re ready to take on this challenge AND expects you to excel at everything because you’re some “cHiLd PrOdIgY” or whatever. I just wanted to learn about crossbreeding, man.

Thankfully I have been offered this nifty little intership at this (INAUDIBLE) which helps and studies pokemon! Right now I’m just an assistant breeder, but they are currently building a research team for a breeding and hybridization project. I’m sure I’d be able to join once I get my title!

Maybe once I’m actually and employee rather than an intern I’ll get one of those cute uniforms they have! The berets are so pretty and all those pockets seem very practical!

Well… I don’t know what else to say…
