Twst spoilers for Book 7 and playful land
Just a heads up I’m going to be discussing the only actual "villain" in TWST and why his characterization bothers me. Also, keep in mind this is for the games only.
Okay, I’m slowly putting together why Henrique’s design and characterization bothers me story-wise and I think I figured it out.
It’s because his portrayal goes against things TWST set up: that no one is a “villain” and their crimes can be overlooked, no matter what.
The Overblots boys are a prime example of this, namely Azul and the Tweels who tricked their entire dorm and several other students into dodgy, immoral contracts that essentially turned them into slaves (and, I believe, gave the trio the “right” to literally beat them, but don’t quote me on that last part). However, after his contracts are burned and he recovers from over blotting, everything seems forgotten with no consequences.
And it’s not just the main cast either, it’s the side foes as well.
Eliza kidnapped Idia and was going to give him the literal kiss of death to fuel her delusions and wish for a “happy marriage.” Yet she is portrayed comically and a minor inconvenience even though, again, she was going to murder Idia.
Rollo used an ancient flower to steal magic from mages causing havoc for the city and endangering everyone, but gets no official punishment. In fact, no one other than the main cast knows he was behind it.
Even Fellow and Gidel, who were fucking human traffickers and who submitted people to fates worse than death, weren’t portrayed as villains. They were antagonists and a threat, but not "villains." And in the end they dance off into the sunset to start a school without even a call out for their sins.
While I personally hated this theme—as I just hate the easily forgiven trope in general--I can’t deny that the writers were consistent in how they handled all the antagonists in the game.
As terrible as their actions were, they were given humanizing traits and had their acts hand waved at the end. (Mostly, anyway. Jamil’s rep apparently took a blow but nothing major.) The writers had a theme and they stuck to it. Then Henrique appears.
Henrique is the only actual villain in TWST without any sympathetic traits or attractive features. He is just presented as a fat, stupid, irredeemable bastard. And while it’s a change of pace, it’s also an inconsistency within TWST.
With every other for they are presented as hot, or at least cute. I mean, look at them;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even the side villains are cute in a way;
Tumblr media
And look at Henrique;
Tumblr media
See how the pattern has been thrown? The only other ones that might be deemed “uncute” are Gantu, the Trick or Treaters, and the ghosts. (YMMV)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then, these guys aren’t seen as villains, just obstacles. Henrique, on the other hand is presented as being the old stereotypical villain twst has always steered clear from.
Appearance aside, his personality is shown to be prideful, gluttonous, greedy, and manipulative who plays on people’s emotions to get what he wants. And there are no sympathetic traits shown to balance those out which, again, goes against everything that had been presented before.
For example; even though Eliza wants to MURDER Idia, we see that she is beloved by her people and we are told that the reason she’s the way she is is because she never got to fulfill her dream of a perfect wedding due to being invaded and murdered that day.
Another one is Rollo. Although, he causes a lot of harm, the audience sees that this is a trauma response due to losing his younger brother who misused magic.
Now, the reason for this MIGHT be because when we see Henrique it’s in Lilia’s dream.
Yes, it's all Lilia’s memories but they’re being brought to the surface by Malleus’ spell which, as we saw in other dreams such as Epel’s, has interesting effects. Therefore it’s possible that Henrique wasn’t completely one dimensional or the only ugly person in the story. After all, Lilia would have bias pov against the man who lead the Silver Owls to invade his homeland. In reality, Henrique could have been handsome, just a bit beefy and he could had “sympathetic” reasons that Lilia wasn’t aware of. But alas, that’s theory.
As of now, we have to take it at face value that Henrique was a pathetic, nonredeemable man whose hideousness is reflected inside and out. And whose characterization conflicts with TWST’s theme.
Another reason is that it could be because Henrique wasn’t the main antagonist; The Knight of the Dawn was.
After all, he slayed Malleus’ parents and led the Silver Owls to invade. Therefore, the Knight was the main villain of Lilia’s and Henrique was just the villainous force pushing him, like Riddle’s mom in book 1 and the owners of the carnival in the Playful Land event. But in that case the writers should have kept Henrique faceless and off screen just like the other two examples. However, I acknowledge that would be harder as Henrique plays a more hands on role than the other two. In which case, he probably should of had a helmet on. That way it keeps up the theme of actual “villains” being faceless.
Don’t misunderstand, I’m NOT saying justice for the bastard.
As stated, he was a prideful, greedy bastard that manipulated others emotionally to get wanted. He single-handedly started a war using the fear people had for the fae and manipulated the Knight of the Dawn through his devotion to Leah and the king, all to get Malenore’s amber. He had no empathy for those around him and cared not for the people who were hurt because of him. He even bragged about wanting to use Malleus as a stead after they killed his mother. Oh, and there’s the whole stealing resources and invading a foreign land thing.
Henrique was a bastard and a villain through and through. And because of that, he out of place here.
He doesn’t fit the story or pattern of villains shown before. He doesn’t fit TWST’s theme. His character doesn’t belong.
Am I over thinking it? Obviously. But like I said, it just bothers me from a story perspective. Sure I’m misunderstanding something and I’m sure others will point it out. This post is just to sort my thoughts as I’m trying to figure out what bugs me about Henrique’s portrayal. If anyone has similar thoughts, pleas share.

Okay I never post but seeing all the misinterpretations of Ragatha and Gangle in the new The Amazing Digital Circus ep made me feel the need to at least put my opinion out there, for whatever it’s worth. Everyone asks for morally grey characters but when given them, they are heavily misjudged and mischaracterised.
So this scene:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also! Please take into consideration that Ragatha is literally drugged up here. She’s in an altered mental state and would never normally say these things. She probably doesn’t even realise the things she’s saying.
So, notice how Ragatha says ‘Happy mask’ and not ‘Comedy Mask’?.
She is referring to the new mask that Gangle has never had on around them before (which I may also argue altered her mental state too but that’s another can of worms), and also the fact that it’s a MASK. She didn’t say “you’re annoying when you’re happy.” And people interpreting it that way are the same ones saying that Ragatha is too much of a people pleaser and needs to be more honest, which yeah she does! She’s more saying “Not to offend, but right now, you are being quite overbearing and demanding” and considering Ragatha is all loopy and out of it, I’m sure it was just how she was feeling in that moment.
Ragatha is not this secretly evil or nasty person who hates everyone, and Gangle saying to Pomni:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Was not saying that Ragatha is ‘hiding and true feelings and actually doesn’t like me’, it’s more once again Gangle worrying that’s what Ragatha may actually think due to how much of a people pleaser she is and how with this mindset, makes her dishonest. Which yeah! Being a people pleaser is not always a good thing, it can cause this exact situation! This doesn’t mean Ragatha is ‘hiding her true evil feelings’, more so she just not honest when she should be. You can be a critic to someone without being mean, and hopefully Ragatha can learn that.
Once again, what Ragatha said to Gangle is not a nice thing to say to anyone at all, but she is not thinking straight at all and Gangle is literally her boss essentially, or at least supervisor (in this ‘adventure’ setting). Anyone who has worked in retail/fast food or any minimum wage job understands that no matter how much you get along (or don’t) with your supervisor, there’s going to be points where they get on your nerves. Gangle herself is not happy in this episode, she has another mask on and is working a job she doesn’t even want to do! Here is a plain example of this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gangle doesn’t even want to do this job, she wants to be a comic artist but she’s been made to believe that it’s just an impossible dream.
I also feel this episode is heavily a direct metaphor on how the capitalist society and how a minimum wage job can just destroy a persons soul and motivation. Coming from someone who has worked this sort of job, your own personal relationships can be negatively affected and even ruined due to work pressure. Whether it’s managers getting in your business or whatnot, work can make people grouchy and harsh in fear of losing their jobs or being criticised or people just being eager to please and get a raise or just words of affirmation from higher ups. Like Jax for example, we don’t know what Gangle did to make him so afraid and make him a shell of his usual self, but once again is showing how jobs such as this can change and affect people deeply.
And also! All you people saying Jax is finally getting a taste of his own medicine and what he deserved, we don’t know what that employee training video was and why Jax reacted the way he did. So be careful with that!
Gangle was not happy this episode, and the ending solidified that for me. She wasn’t taking her mask off and finally feeling free and happy, to me it felt like she was in a manic sort of state and was being so careless that she unintentionally fell into oncoming traffic. As soon as she got out of work and took that work based mask off. I don’t think it was a reflection of her finally taking off her mask and being free, it had very unsettling undertones. Not to mention Cain straight up grading her ‘performance’ including what she did AFTER she clocked out which was quite literally being hit by a truck. Do you see what I’m getting at here? It’s the exact similar situation I have seen where my own supervisors were particularly demanding or grouchy on a day where I wasn’t feeling it, and then they themself regret it or end up getting in some sort of trouble with a higher up when they were just trying to essentially do their job! Also Ragatha was straight up drugged, without consent, due to the materials she was forced to work with!
But yes, I think people are empathising too heavily towards Gangle in thinking how they often have masks up and how much it would hurt if their friends acted this way or if they HAVE in fact acted this way towards you, but I don’t think this is the case here.
I ramble a lot but I hope this got some of my thoughts and interpretations across??
I loved this episode and it’s left me asking so many questions that I’m so curious about and I’m so excited for what future episodes bring!

Wondering why they put Jake in that tea party scene at the end of the comic. I mean I know the answer is mostly ‘it’s funny’/‘go sit with the other randos’ but also. Grandpa Harley did die hosting a tea party and the only reason I’m not sure that’s a definite Thing is because of the conspicuous absence of any Blue Ladies. Unless you count Tavros.

While I was first playing through Paralogism this interaction struck me as being a little odd at first but I ultimately didn't pay that much attention to it, but now thinking back on it it seems to fall into a pattern that Venti uses quite often - alluding to something that he knows will make other people uncomfortable (or at the very least doubtful of his own beliefs) in order to make them come to a more concrete understanding of their own personal convictions by themselves.
He does this with Vennessa in the prologue of the manga - he tells her that if she leaves Mondstadt with him, he'll be able to guarantee freedom for her and her people, and she immediately refuses, stating that they must "fight and claim [their] own freedom" and that there is no use in begging for it; just by making that suggestion to her, Venti essentially forced her to declare her own convictions outwardly and clearly (and we can see that her doing this pleases him - he pretends to sigh in defeat when he turns away from her but then smiles when she can no longer see him), and he seems to have been able to achieve the same effect here with the Traveller, if the fact that they phrase their surprise at Venti's allusion to his own loss of faith in Albedo as a question (which implies to me, at least, that they were not expecting their own conviction in him to be questioned by Venti in the slightest) has anything to say about it - he is able to reinforce the Traveller's own beliefs by providing them with both a stark contrast that they both seem to recognise as being unusual for Venti's character and deeply contrary to their own views, regardless of whether or not they were aware of the strength of their own convictions prior to this.
We know by the end of the quest that Venti absolutely hadn't actually lost faith in Albedo due to his likely also being in on the plan from the start, with that then highlighting just how intentional this really was - and, all things considered, this behaviour does seem to be fairly consistent with his general stance of providing people with the encouragement that they need to naturally reach their own conclusions without his direct influence (he implies that he believes such a process to be necessary to the Traveller almost explicitly at the end of the first archon quest, where he tells them that "the journey itself has meaning" and that they should "keep their eyes open" throughout the journey itself, with this seeming especially deliberate when there's almost no chance that he wasn't hiding anything from them during this interaction.) The fact that it requires the even just momentary undermining of his own beliefs in order to be achieved effectively, however, could then suggest that he sees himself as being personally removed from this process of understanding to an even greater extent (that, or he genuinely doesn't care about how his own opinions are perceived on the surface level as long as he's able to get to the point that he wants to get to); either way, it proves to some extent that this element of personal discovery is something that he really does value, and I guess we'll have to wait and see exactly how that plays out in the future.

was doing a little research into Bakumatsu-era armour to see what exactly the joui boys are wearing on the battlefield and thought I'd put my findings here
Tumblr media
Sakamoto's headgear usually gets called a kabuto, which come in such a wide range of shapes and sizes that it's difficult to narrow down what kind of kabuto it might be...my best guess is people think it's this type:
Tumblr media
this is an Akodanari Suji Kabuto, named after a type of watermelon...this style was especially popular during the Muromachi period.
However! I don't think he's wearing a kabuto at all. I think it's more likely to be a piece of kusari katabira - a kind of light woven chainmail which was commonly worn by soldiers during the Edo period
To be more specific, I think he's wearing a kusari zukin (a chainmail hood) with a hachigane headband, of the type seen here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the way Sakamoto's headgear hangs & the mail-like pattern imo has way more in common with this than any kind of kabuto I've seen. So I'm pretty sure that's what he's wearing
Tumblr media
I'm pretty sure the cuirass-type things they wear are karuta-gane, a type of lightweight armour known as tatami. The karuta armour (which comes from the Portuguese word 'carta' - playing cards, referring to the square/rectangular plates) were made of leather or iron, often sewn onto a cloth backing. Sometimes they had chainmail between the plates.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Takasugi's coat is notably more Western-styled and he's not wearing karuta, but he is wearing what looks like a manchira - a type of auxiliary armour, which had small iron plates sewn between the layers of fabric. It's presumed to have been inspired by Western fashions and they were often made to be aesthetically pleasing:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the type Takasugi wears is the longer one, which was supposed to be worn as a standalone armour rather than the shorter version (manju no wa) which was usually worn with a breastplate. Perfect fancy armour for the little rich boy lmao
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apart from Takasugi who seems to be wearing more Western style trousers and boots/shoes, the other 3 wear the same kind of footwear and greaves - kōgake (basically armoured socks) worn with waraji (corded shoes)
Tumblr media
It doesn't look like they're wearing suneate (armoured greaves) - it looks much more like standard kyahan, which were basically padded cloth leggings worn under the suneate. This was pretty common in footsoldiers apparently. Although Zura could be wearing suneate since his seem to be reinforced:
Tumblr media
These could be Shino Suneate, which were lightweight and reinforced with iron strips sewn onto cloth backing. Low ranking samurai tended to favour them for their simplicity and ease of movement
Tumblr media
On their arms they seem to be wearing some kind of kote (armoured sleeves) with tekko (metal plates covering the back of the hands) - we can see Zura's most clearly and his seem to be padded or otherwise armoured, so they might be han kote, which were a bit more like gauntlets
Tumblr media
Zura, Takasugi and Gintoki are wearing pretty standard hachimaki - headbands with a little armour over the forehead:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finally, the belts they're wearing are uwa-obi - used to attach the sageo of their sword in order to secure it. When worn with chest armour (dō) the obi would be knotted at the front with a hanamusubi knot to hold it firm
Tumblr media Tumblr media
anyway! might come in handy as reference or might solely be of interest to me lol

replaying aa4 and i am obsessed with how trucy wright performs femininity. when she's talking to plum kitaki, when plum says:
Tumblr media
trucy answers with:
Tumblr media
which is weird, right? because plum is describing how, if you live a certain life, you start seeing people for their true selves and this often skews towards the negative, which is exactly what trucy's life has been like for, well, her entire life. she doesn't need to chalk it up to 'female intuition' because she's seen her father go through it right with her.
in turnabout serenade, apollo points out that it's weird trucy is so excited about the concert even though she didn't even know the lead singer's name until recently:
Tumblr media
and trucy answers:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and i just think that is so fascinating. because we see time and time again that trucy isn't super interested in being "girly," for lack of a better term. we see characters like dahlia hawthorne in this series who hide behind a stereotypically "girly" mask by way of their appearances, and therefore we know what ace attorney's shorthand is for "girly" characters, but trucy doesn't dress like them. no frilly skirts, no pink. she's a professional.
instead, she falls back again and again on this veneer of "being a girl." she's never heard of this rock band but she knows she has to like them because that'll display a certain image. she can't reveal that she knows what plum means, so she subtly insinuates it is her gender and not her experiences that allow her to relate to her. of course, that's not to say that she doesn't like the gavinners or rock music, and it doesn't necessarily mean that she wasn't just making a little joke in response to plum's observation, but i think that it would be remiss of me to not point out that trucy wright, as a character, is constantly wearing a mask or putting on a performance of some kind. it is seriously very difficult to know what she truly thinks about a lot of things because she has this persona of being just a silly and unserious teenaged girl, and we know it's a facade because every now and again she allows apollo to see through it.
and i think that is just fascinating. she wants people to see her as this not shallow per se but definitely unobservant and peppy girl, and she conveys it through very subtle means and turns of phrase that are honestly quite blink-and-you-miss-it. it's easy to get roped into the performance and believe what she's putting out is her honest and unguarded self. of course she's not dangerous; she's just fifteen, and a girl to boot! it would be silly to worry about her. and this works on kristoph. much to think about.

What did u mean by 'gendered marketing' when referring to the sonic movies? I'm probably kinda blind to this sort of thing so maybe I'm asking you to spell it out for me😭? Genuine question
I also don't like the movies that much. I mean I kinda do enjoy them in a way, but my truest opinion is thay we deserved an unleashed opening type animation with faithful-to-the-games characterization..... but whatever lol🙂
You're right in that second paragraph, I think Marza should do a fully animated Sonic movie PLEASEPLEASPLEASEPLEASEPLEAS
So, when I called the Sonic movies "Gendered Marketing: The Movie" I'm basically saying, it's so so so clear that these movies are intended to be Boy Movies for Boys, which personally I coulda sworn we had collectively grown past as a culture? But I guess not.
That's why there's no female Sonic characters in these movies, or hardly any women to begin with vs how many men there are. It's "Boy Movie," and boys don't like girls because girls have cooties. So they believe, truly, that introducing Amy or Rouge or Cream or Blaze isn't going to help them get butts in seats.
The Chaotix will.

Now, when it comes to Shiv and Grey Talon, I got the vibe from them that they have Mentor/Student relationship (well duh, it's obvious) but I have hunch that Shiv's missing arm is result of fight he had with Grey Talon, Talon was out to fight monster, he didn't expect to find boy who had misfortune to get cursed by rival gang and once he transformed and lost control ransacked his whole family and neighborhood. So I can see Talon having mercy for him and leading him trough some sort of rehabilitation, my guess is tht amulet thingie that he has on his belt is probably helping him contain his inner monster or something. He still can't say no to Talon tho.
Anywho, this is just rambling of my overly active imagination that got crumbs of lore and is trying to connect the dots like rabid maniac.

I'm still reeling from Daniel Ricciardo's exit from Formula One at the end of last season. Do you think we'll see him back in the sport in another capacity? I don't know if Danny wants to come back. I was told at the moment he's pretty happy not to be around Formula One and I think it's a good thing. So at least he [can] digest what happened, and then maybe he finds the energy and the love for the sport again and comes back, because I think he would be a very good ambassador for the sport. I do not think he's coming back as a driver. I do not think that Danny wants to be a manager or something like that in a day-to-day job, he doesn't want that at all. So I hope he comes back as an ambassador or maybe on TV, because he's one of these guys which a lot of people know and which are happy to have around. He's so fun and such a huge personality and gave so much to the sport but his exit was very quiet, very low key. Do you think that's how he wanted it? I don't think it was his choice. I mean, you know, how it was done. I found [it] a little bit weird how it all happened. It happened quick and he just disappeared almost. I think, first of all, he didn't want to exit at all at that time and secondly, if there was an exit, it could have been done in a way which would help the sport but also Danny, because I think he got a little bit shocked of the exit, how it was done.

See Ya When I See Ya (Acoustic), Miles Kane @ The Caves Edinburgh 13/11/24
literal moments before this: a group of people in the crowd suddenly started chanting for miles to play standing next to me. he acknowledged it for a moment with the hint of a nostalgic/wistful smile, and then proceeded to level us all with reactionary, wry, raised-eyebrows look and launched immediately into see ya when i see ya instead. and this isn’t even my milex brain talking (the girl next to me literally went “oh wow”), the way he did it was genuinely SO loud. like it was an unmistakeable expression that so clearly showed he feels something about those two songs is inherently connected. it was such a from-the-gut, instinctive response and it spoke VOLUMES. i wish wish WISH i'd managed to catch it on video because i know my description is not doing it justice at all, but trust me. it really packed a punch. like there was this reminder of the most popular puppets song from the crowd (and one that’s particularly associated with all their milex antics at that) , and then this visceral expression from miles of "yeah, none of that anymore" or "look at where we are now" as he introduced see ya when i see ya. there were just. SO many emotional layers. and like yes, i know it's sort of an open secret that see ya when i see ya might be about alex and their creative/personal relationship, but god. this really felt so close to an open admission that that’s the case.

A lot of letters about Iori and Kaname's relationship. Lots of spoilers about the game and the novel, if you are not aware (which is very strange in my opinion, the fandom is more than 10 years old..), avoid this post
So. The first thing I want to notice is attitude Kaname towards Iori and his feelings. Now I will not take into account all their background, for now just as a given. His words about Iori's desire to be understood cannot be called love, because it is first of all understanding of another. On the one hand, he is right, Iori focused on himself, on his trauma and has been stewing in this cauldron for a long time. On the other hand, who and what right gave him to decide what can be called love and what cannot.
This is one of those feelings and things, the meaning of which everyone chooses for themselves. If for Iori it has such a meaning, then so it is. He has no right to devalue or deny his ideas.
Let's go further to his work as a monk, "savior of souls." Again, I will exaggerate everything. He interferes in his life too much. No, I'm not talking about how he didn't let Iori die. I'm talking about his "please leave Iori if you don't have deep feelings for him." Does he want to help? Yes, of course. However again, it's not up to him or Iori to decide.
I want to believe that after 3 years (she should have graduated and entered by this point), Ema has become self-sufficient enough. She can stand on her own two feet and make such decisions, be responsible for them. Make her "correct" decision, because her feelings and desires are taken into account. Not Kaname's and not Iori's either.
In general, his support and care seems like hypocrisy to me. He may have good intentions and genuinely want the best for Iori, but his constant interference in his personal life resembles the role of this savior. Which he has been wearing since the very beginning. Most likely, he feels this responsibility for the whole family and his religion somehow influences his actions and decisions, but I still think that he tries to push his worldview too often. A good psychologist, in my opinion, - and this is the role he is trying to play for Iori - should not give advice, say "I will save you no matter what". Iori must first come to this or that option himself. Whether he decides to commit suicide, as he wanted, or to live on, it does not matter, he must do it himself. And Kaname, no matter how hard it is, must leave this right to him and accept any outcome.
In the novel, Iori ultimately decides to live on, and pay attention, he does this before Ema comes running and convinces him otherwise. He came to this himself. If he hadn't done this, and someone else had started pouring out to him about the importance of life, he wouldn't have understood. He would have pretended again, nodded his head to calm the interlocutor down, and would have stuck to his guns. In general, this is exactly what happens until this moment of self-acceptance and forgiveness.
In the game.. the fact that Ema was able to change his mind in the end is a miracle of all miracles, which i don't believe in. No, I do believe it, if we take it as a fact, an axiom, that Iori loved her. And he loved his ex-girlfriend very much too. It was the phrase "Do you want to make me suffer as much as you do" that did the trick. But only on the condition that he loved Ema. If someone else had said it, he wouldn't have batted an eye. Iori had already said before that family means nothing to him.
My opinion is well my opinion. It may be wrong, since I've only read bits and pieces from the novel, short retellings, and free adaptation of the game itself (I read Iori's route with all endings). I'm ready for discussion and "But the author is wrong (insert what exactly), because…"
Ohh.. and I leave there my little overview about Iori after his route. So that people don't think that he is so nice and fluffy.
What can I say about Iori. Overall, nothing special, he looks very normal. He goes to an elite school, is an excellent student, popular with girls his age. He has a part-time job, takes care of the garden. By the way, I am confused why this was not shown. It is only in the anime. Oh well. Athough no, in general, he only talks about flowers twice: when he was choosing a bouquet for the teacher and when Miwa gave hers to Ema.
That's what is surprising for such a type, he is a gentleman 50/50, I can even say that he's a little manipulative. Yes, he is polite, "lady first" and "holding the door" that's all him. But he has a trait when he likes it when the choice between something is given to him. i.e. in the scene when they see a model and Iori deliberately offers Ema to come over, because "this is a rare opportunity". The choice to stay with him blossoms like flowers. He likes it when he is called kind. In general, he seems quiet, speaks in a calm voice, but his phrases are far from harmless. He snaps at Kaname, he teases Ema. He hints and insists on his own, the same idea of double suicide, constantly tries to squeeze in "this is a promise, right?" / "we promised each other"
I think... I wrote everything, thanks to everyone if anyone even read this 0/

Abigail herself is not yet listed for the episode though, so her length of stay is unknown. A sneak peek released by ABC, however, has made clear that Abigail is portraying a detective (Det. Amber Brayburn) who will work on the case of the serial kidnapper. [gifset here from 8x09]
(You may know Abigail Spencer best as Dr Megan Hunt in 'Grey's Anatomy', or from her role in 'Suits', 'Timeless', or from her society pages time as friend to co-star Megan Markle.)
(Also for episode 8x09 of 911 (ABC) we have a young cast member listed as playing Teen Amber Braeburn. No doubt this will be a flashback scene about this guest character.)
Ysabella Costa has been a regular stunt actor working on 911 ABC since season 6, though the details are not always listed. She has been seen as stunt double for Mercedes Colon, as the cruise ship captain (pictured below right). Also for Cheyenne Perez in 6x09, for Victoria Kelleher in 6x14 'Performance Anxiety', and for Christal Bella Romano in episode 8x08 (video clip here, the first part of the flooded car rescue scene).
