this has been fighting me but hey it's something! unedited etc etc etc

That afternoon, they’re called to a hostage situation in a warehouse. They’re mostly standing by, waiting for the situation to resolve one way or the other - hopefully in the ‘making their presence unnecessary’ direction - so that they can go in, provide first aid and help get victims out if necessary.
So far, it hasn’t been necessary. Police is on scene, there’s a bunch of people frantically speaking into their radios, and Buck is already sweating through his uniform in the hot Los Angeles sun.
The SWAT units arrive only minutes later, two black vans, two squads piling out and quickly and efficiently gearing up. Buck watches them with mild interest. He’s contemplating moving into the meager shade provided by the fire engine, but that would mean losing sight of Bobby, who is speaking calmly to a very frazzled looking man waving a radio around in one hand, and Buck wants to be ready as soon as there’s new information.
So instead, he leans against the engine next to Eddie, who doesn’t seem to mind the heat at all, must be the Texas in him, and watches the SWAT team huddle together and lay out their plans.
They look cool, they really do, all decked out in black tactical gear, holsters strapped to what looks like every single body part, somehow, and there’s something to be said for the sheer thrill of their job, he imagines. He wonders what their training is like, if their shift rotation is anything like the LAFD’s. Do they always work in the same squads? They must, with how seamlessly they work together, with how much they have to trust each other in life-or-death situations. It must be an incredibly interesting job.
Then he hears the click-click of a rifle being loaded, and he thinks of the Navy SEALs, and he reminds himself that he’d much prefer fighting fire than being in the line of it, or be expected to fire at anyone. The thought alone makes his gut churn.

🩸 intro
Mi name is Michaella (Mika). I am from South East Asia. A 20 y/o engineering student. My creative social medias are also @/3sgritty on Instagram and our dear AO3! And also, @/skarecr0 on TikTok… I am currently inactive those platforms.
I am interested in these things:
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Berserk
Claymore
Madoka Magica
Fallout: New Vegas
Ranma 1/2
Ryan Gosling movies
My favourite movies ever are Paris, Texas (1984, Wim Wenders), The Seventh Seal (1957, Ingar Bergman), and Monkey Man (2023, Dev Patel). I’m particular about consuming movies, consequently I have a Letterboxd. It’s @/mckachu777. You will notice I rated the Postal movie one star and a heart on my profile. What I really mean is it was one of the greatest movies of my life.
Favourite books are Demian by Herman Hesse and The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I am a fan of Nabokov’s writing and Hesse’s also.
But enough of these other medias; I love music so much. I don’t make any. I love hearing music. I’m trying to build a blog about that right now. Big on Mojave 3 and Ethel Cain right now.
I am plagued—no, haunted and bewitched by divine afflictions of the mind. I’m spiritually shaped like an ouroboros. Ever since I was a young girl I always knew that I wanted to be a sick perverted nymphomaniac woman. Unrelated, I’m also Roman Catholic.

Bonds Unveiled
Supernatural FanFic : 2,882 Words : Series: Reader-Insert
Bonus Chapter 4: Bonding (After Chapter 22)
This Work is part of an overarching story that can be read as a one-shot with little overlapping information from other chapters.
⬅ Chapter 23: A Day of Truths💜 Chapter 24: Happy Birthdays ➡ Master List
Bonus Chapter 4: Bonding (After Chapter 22) Despite Sam and Dean being brothers with some like tendencies, in truth they are very very different people. This means they handle stress differently and depend on different methods to help them unwind... or do they? Y/N will be the judge of that.
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Under the unforgiving Texas sun, a sense of weariness hung over Sam, Dean, and Y/N as they exited the small, nondescript sheriff's station. The Impala sat baking in the parking lot.
Dean slammed the car door shut as he got in, frustration written all over his face. Y/N and Sam followed him from the sheriff's station to the Impala, their disappointment palpable. They had driven nearly fifteen hours straight to reach Marfa, Texas, only to find out that the gruesome murders were not the work of a supernatural creature but rather the result of a troubled elderly man.
“I can't believe we wasted our time on this wild goose chase.” Dean’s arm was propped up on the window seal as he rubbed his temples.
“It happens, Dean. We can't win 'em all.” Sam tried his best to console his brother as he loosened his tie, but Sam understood.
“It was a long shot even for us.” Y/N chimed in from the backseat.
The Impala rumbled to life, its engine a grumbling testament to Dean's unease. For a while now, the brothers had been facing a peculiar downturn in their usual cases. Even when they got a lead, they would arrive at the scene to discover another hunter had already taken care of it. It was an eerie and unsettling feeling, leaving Dean anxious and short-tempered.
“I can do a bit more digging into the old man if you want, see if there is anything noteworthy about his past or something." Sam offered in an attempt to help his brother move past this.
"Yeah. I'll drop you two off at the motel, then head to the morgue myself." Dean nodded his head at the thought of double-checking all the Qs and Ts.
As Dean pulled the Impala into drive and started heading for the motel, Sam would glance over his shoulder at Y/N in the back seat and offer an apologetic smile for the time he just added to their time here.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Sam and Y/N stepped into their dimly lit motel room, the sound of the Impala's engine fading in the distance. Sam, weary from the drive, nonchalantly tossed his jacket onto one of the beds, then unthreaded his tie from his shirt's collar. He sank into the chair by the small table.
Y/N, her feet aching from her high heels, wasted no time kicking them off before plopping down onto the edge of the other bed. She lay back, staring up at the ceiling, lost in her thoughts. Her voice held a hint of curiosity and concern as she addressed Sam.
"Are you really going to look into that old guy?"
Sam ran his hand through his hair lost in contemplation. "I just think, with how things are going, we can't afford to ignore any leads, no matter how unlikely they might seem."
Y/N raised an eyebrow, her gaze still locked on the featureless motel room ceiling. Her voice was cool and collected as she addressed Sam.
"I could smell it on him. He did it, he admits to it, he's been arrested, and he's just a regular human with no ties to anything freaky." Turning her head to face Sam, Y/N's eyes bore into his, searching for understanding. "You said it for Dean's sake."
Sam let out a heavy sigh, leaning forward with his elbows resting on his knees. He seemed exhausted, both mentally and physically. His voice carried a touch of frustration as he tried to explain.
"Yeah, you know Dean. He gets antsy when we haven't hunted in a while. So if there's something to focus on, he... well, it calms him down."
Sam tossed his hands into the air, his frustration evident. He leaned back in the chair, clearly out of ideas. "I don't know..."
Y/N, however, smiled gently and rolled onto her side, propping herself up. She approached Sam, who seemed lost in his thoughts and took his hand. With a gentle tug, she pulled him to his feet, guiding him to sit on the edge of the bed.
Sam sat on the edge of the bed, his gaze fixed on Y/N, who stood in front of him. Her presence was calming, a reassuring island in the stormy sea of their hunter's life.
"I know you worry about him, but you're going to stress yourself out if you don't take a breather." She spoke with a soft tone, her words filled with care.
With graceful ease, Y/N tugged the hem of her skirt upward, raising it to mid-thigh. She placed a gentle hand on Sam's shoulder and moved closer. As she settled herself on his lap, straddling his legs, her warmth and closeness were a welcome relief. Their connection was palpable as Y/N guided Sam's arms to wrap around her.
Y/N's lips slightly parted as she smiled, her arms sliding back to rest on Sam's shoulders. The chemistry between them was undeniable, and Sam's eyes conveyed both warmth and curiosity as he looked at Y/N's captivating gaze.
"I thought we were going to take things slow?" Sam’s tone was a bit teasing yet considerate.
Y/N's voice remained soft, the words filled with a yearning for simple connection. "We are, but Dean should be a while at the morgue. So why don't we just relax a bit? We haven't really spent any time together since my heat."
"Yeah, you're right." Sam's hands gently massaged Y/N's hips and lower back, and he couldn't help but smile. His eyes sparkled with affection as he agreed.
Y/N leaned in, capturing Sam's lips in a loving yet restrained kiss. Their connection was electric, a reminder of the desire they both felt but had chosen to temper, for now. Sam's body tensed with longing, the restraint evident as he held back, wanting to wait until they were both ready.
A soft, enchanting giggle escaped Y/N's lips as she pulled away from the kiss, her forehead resting gently against Sam's. "Hey, you're supposed to be relaxing."
Sam's eyes remained closed, his head leaning against Y/N's, and a playful smirk danced on his lips. He couldn't help but respond with a chuckle. "It's kind of hard to relax with you sitting on my lap like this."
Y/N's nimble thumbs began to knead the tense muscles of Sam's shoulders, offering a soothing touch. "Want me to rub your back and shoulders?"
Sam inhaled deeply, his hands sliding down Y/N's sides until they found their place, fingers interlocking just below where her tails would rest. He gently pulled her closer, his head nestling against her collarbone. "Nah. Let's stay like this for a bit."
Y/N lifted her head slightly, allowing Sam's head to rest against her collarbone. With a gentle smile, she wrapped her arms around his shoulders. One hand traced into his hair, while the other moved down his back, fingers kneading away the tension. A contented purr rumbled from her chest as the scent of Sam enveloped her.
The soothing vibrations emanating from her chest allowed Sam's body to finally relax. His mind began to focus solely on the sounds and sensations that Y/N enveloped him with. His hands, without him even realizing it, had relaxed, settling on her backside. Her tail swayed softly as they appeared, brushing his skin with tender, happy sways. In that serene moment, the world fell away, leaving them in a bubble of perfect tranquility.
"Sammy, I found a place that has... Whoa!" Dean's voice filled the room, bursting in unannounced. His words came to an abrupt halt as he laid eyes on Sam and Y/N, locked in an intimate embrace on the bed; he quickly spun to face the wall looking away. They had been so wrapped up in each other's comfort that they hadn't heard the Impala's arrival, and by the time they recognized the sound of the door opening, Dean was already speaking.
Caught off guard by the sudden intrusion, Y/N froze in her place, her tails ceasing their gentle swaying. Swiftly, she turned to hide her face into Sam’s shoulder, a feeling of embarrassment sweeping over her. Dean, standing in the doorway, couldn't help but chastise them.
"I thought we talked about this. Sock on the doorknob means busy. I thought you went to college, Sam!"
Sam sighed, his relaxation turning into tension as his brother's presence seemed to stir up the room. Sitting up, he reassured Dean, "Nothing’s out Dean. You're safe."
Dean peered over his shoulder, eyeing them closely. Once he realized that they or rather Sam were fully dressed, he relaxed, letting out a breath he didn't know he was holding. He moved further into the room, placing some to-go bags on the table. Continuing with what he had said earlier, Dean cleared his throat.
"Like I was saying, I found a place that has these overpriced salads, so I got you one."
Sam scoffed and rolled his eyes, clearly irked as he said, "Thanks, but do you mind? I thought you were going to the morgue."
Dean, although addressing Sam, couldn't resist sneakily stealing glances at Y/N. Her skirt had ridden up her thighs, offering tantalizing glimpses of her underwear and more from his angle. In response to Sam's question, Dean offered an explanation.
"Yeah, well, I called on my way. The doc's out for the day, so the place is closed. But I stopped and got us some food." Dean nonchalantly sat on his bed across from Sam, his eyes still straying toward Y/N.
“Dean..” Sam’s patience was wearing thin as Dean's name seethed from his lips in frustration.
Taking a bite of his chili fries, Dean continued his teasing, waving his fork toward the two of them. "Oh, by all means, don't let me stop you. Please continue... whatever that is."
Y/N, having had enough, removed herself from Sam's lap and stood up. She turned to face Dean, her eyes tinged with a sinister smile as she spoke with a sweet yet warning tone, "Dean, just because you're jealous doesn't mean you have to be a dick about it. You're free to make a move anytime you want, just like Sam."
With that, Y/N made her way toward the bathroom, her hips swaying in an enticing manner. As she departed, Dean's eyes followed her every step. Meanwhile, Sam shot a stern glare at Dean, his disapproval evident.
She then turned and began walking to the bathroom, “Now I'm gonna shower.” As Y/N walked away Dean's eyes watched her hips move, Sam on the other hand was burning holes into Dean's head with his stern glare.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Dean stormed into the farmhouse, his frustration and impatience bubbling over. Slamming the door behind him, he began hurling objects against the walls, venting his anger at the town's uncooperative officials. He ranted about the uselessness of the people and the whole situation, growing increasingly exasperated. They had come to Roswell, New Mexico in pursuit of a shifter, but instead, they found themselves tangled up with UFO enthusiasts who seemed more interested in playing make-believe.
Despite Dean's conviction that there was more to this than met the eye, the search had been fruitless for three days straight. The team was hitting a streak of empty leads, and Dean's frustration was boiling over. This wasn't the first time, and it was becoming a pattern.
Y/N, drawn by the commotion, turned the corner to witness Dean's furious outburst. She attempted to call out to him, but he was lost in his rage. Seeing Dean spiral out of control, Y/N decided to intervene. In one swift motion, she spun Dean around by the arm to face her and delivered a resounding slap across his cheek. Dean's face turned to the side, the shock of the blow momentarily breaking through his rage.
Dean was stunned and incredulous as he slowly turned to look at Y/N, his features a mix of shock and frustration. He asked, "Did you just slap me?"
Y/N's tone was resolute as she stood her ground, locking eyes with Dean despite being 5'4" and having to tilt her head to meet his gaze but she did so with unwavering conviction. "Yes, I did, and I will do it again if need be. But Dean, come on, enough is enough," Y/N implored. "I'm not saying you need to pull yourself completely together because, hell, you've been through... well, hell, literally, and more. But for Christ's sake, man, take a fucking breather and just take a good hard look around.”
Y/N cupped Dean's face in her hands, her voice softening as she continued, “There is nothing here, hun and I know it scares you because clearly something is happening out there, and we all know it. And we are going to face it head-on, whatever it is like we always do. But don't wear yourself out before it even happens, chasing something that isn't really there. You're no good to anyone burned out. Ya know?”
Y/N maintained eye contact with Dean throughout, her gaze grounded, unwavering, and full of empathy, assuring him that they would face whatever came their way as a team.
Dean's fiery eyes remained locked onto Y/N's as his tense body gradually began to relax, and the relentless pounding of his heart started to subside. It wasn't just the words Y/N spoke that captivated him; it was the soothing cadence of her voice, a balm to his racing thoughts.
As Y/N gently held his face, her words washing over him, Dean became acutely aware of the pleasant coolness of her touch, counteracting the burning heat radiating from his skin. Her touch was a lifeline, grounding him in the present and resonating deeply within him, a touch he often craved and the only one that could fully ease his turmoil.
Dean's attention shifted from her eyes to her lips to the soft contours of her face, and he found himself drawn in, losing himself in the hypnotic rhythm of her voice.
Suddenly, as if driven by an irresistible force, Dean's hands shot up and gently cradled Y/N's jaw on either side. He pulled her close, his lips claiming hers in a passionate and desperate kiss. Y/N willingly surrendered to his embrace, her arms wrapping around his head and shoulders, deepening their connection.
Dean's kiss was a whirlwind of emotions, conveying longing, reassurance, and an urgency to feel her close. His hands slid from her face down to her hips, caressing her sides, and then found their way to her backside. With a swift movement, he lifted her, pressing her against the wall.
Their lips parted, foreheads resting against each other as they tried to catch their breath. Dean's voice was a husky whisper as he spoke, "You're amazing, you know that?"
Y/N smiled as she giggled softly. Her voice dripped with playful charm as she responded, "Ah, so you're catching on, huh?"
Dean grunted in response to Y/N's teasing, his head coming to rest in the cozy nook of her neck. As he inhaled the familiar scent of her body spray, a sense of calm seemed to wash over him. Y/N's presence, her scent, her touch, all of it grounded him in a way nothing else could.
With his face nestled against her neck, Dean let out a satisfied exhale, confessing in a hushed tone, "Damn it. I needed this."
Y/N's lips curled into a knowing smile as her cheek rested gently against the crown of Dean's head. She couldn't resist the urge to tease him back, her voice laced with humor, "Me or the reality check?"
Dean lifted his head to meet Y/N's eyes, a mischievous smirk gracing his lips. He replied with a twinkle in his eye, "I could always use more of you, sweetheart."
Their faces drew closer, the magnetic pull between them undeniable. Y/N bit her lower lip as a hint of desire ignited between them, her voice barely above a whisper, "We said we would take it slow."
Dean's intentions were clear as he began to lean in, his focus locked on her lips. His warm breath brushed against her skin as he whispered with an alluring promise, "You just say when."
In that electric moment, their lips were mere inches apart, poised for another passionate kiss. However, the world outside had other plans. A sudden impact to the back of Dean's head disrupted their intimacy, a foreign object bouncing away.
The interruption left Dean momentarily stunned, his eyes wide with surprise as he glanced over his shoulder in search of what had interrupted their intimate moment.
Dean's glare shifted from Y/N's lips to the unexpected intruder, his jaw clenched with irritation. He remained close to Y/N, clearly not ready to relinquish the intimate moment they'd been sharing. In a voice dripping with annoyance, he growled at Sam, "Kind of busy here, Sammy. Something we can do for you?"
Sam stood in the doorway, a sardonic smirk on his face as he responded, "Nope, not really. Oh, except, geez, remember last week when you interrupted us in Texas, Dean?"
His arms crossed, Sam stared at his older brother, unwavering in his determination not to leave them be. Dean let out an exasperated sigh, closing his eyes for a brief moment. Meanwhile, Y/N couldn't help but smile and giggle, recognizing that Dean had essentially brought this upon himself.

Chapter 16 - Actions Have...
Elizabeth sat on the examine table in nothing but a hospital gown as she waited for the doctor to enter the room.
The car ride to the doctor’s office had been a quiet but cold one. She didn't mind the silence. It gave her time to think and come up with a plan of what she wanted and needed to say. That and she still had no idea what to talk about with Hoyt. Not that he helped matter. He only said one thing before leaving them both in silence. Something about her being lucky he got the AC fixed.
He blasted the damned air conditioner at max power. Which was nice considering how hot Texas was. But, horrible for her because all she wore was her thin sundress.
So busy and in such a panic about telling Thomas about her IUD she didn’t think to change. Despite saying she was going to.
She was practically a Popsicle when he shut off the engine when they reached their destination. It was a good thing she kept her arms folded around her chest. Her nipples had perked up because of the cold, and she didn’t want to give Hoyt more of a “show”.
They hadn’t interacted much since the day Hoyt tried to rape her. Which was months ago. He had yet to apologize. Not that she expected him too. Out of everyone in the family, he still made her skin crawl. He was doing better about his looks toward her. But she still caught a lecherous glance from him now and again. Especially on the mornings when she and Thomas were exceptionally loud.
Wasn’t like she could help it that they lived in the same old house as the two uncles and Thomas’s mother. The walls weren’t exactly paper-thin, luckily. Still, she couldn’t ask Thomas to move out. Well, she could, but she had a feeling he wouldn’t even entertain the thought. There was no use in asking for something she knew she wouldn’t get. Which was pretty much almost anything.
She absentmindedly scratched the scars on her arm. A light knock caught her attention
“Hello, Miss-” An older gentleman in a doctor’s coat walked in. He was roughly Hoyt’s age. But, unlike Hoyt, he had a kind face to him.
“Summers,” she lied, saying the first name that came to mind. She wasn't sure why she didn't use her real last name. “For now at least.”
“Dr. Hawkins. I’m glad you’re feeling better,” he said, extending his hand out for her to shake. “You had a high temperature the last time I saw you.”
“Yes,” she said, nodding her head. “I remember. Thanks for making a house call. I’m sure you don’t do those often.”
He gave her a smile and a shrug. “Small town. And Luda Mae can be quite persuasive. She does make a killer meatloaf."
She gave him a tense smile. Did he know? Would the family even "waste" food like that? Give strangers their special meat? She would assume if he was on cannibal eating terms with them she would have seen him visit at least once over the past few months.
No, she had to remind herself. He didn't know what the family really ate. He didn't know that when he first saw her she was a prisoner. The family lied to him and had her lie. Which meant he was clueless.
"Now, from my understanding you were throwing up in the morning after eating breakfast. Does this happen often?”
“I’m not pregnant,” she said. She snapped her mouth shut with an audible clashing of her teeth. Her heart pounded loudly in her chest as she looked at the old man. She knew she looked guilty.
“Alright,” he said. “Well, we should be getting the pregnancy test back soon and-”
“I have an IUD,” she interrupted. He raised his eyebrows in surprise and checked his chart.
“You didn’t mention that,” he said.
“I, uh.” She shifted with unease and ran her fingers through her long hair, letting out a dramatic sigh. “I had it put in before I started my relationship with my ex,” she said, adding to the lie the Hewitts had started. When the doctor had visited, the day she was extremely sick, they made it seem that she was hiding from an abusive ex. It was a lie meant to keep the doctor from insisting she go to the hospital. He bought it. And now, she was going to add to it.
She gulped and gave him a tense smile. She'd rehearse various things to say to the doctor and how she would say it. Being so blunt was not one of them.
He assessed her.
"Sorry," she said, feeling the blood rush up to her face. "I just… Didn’t want to get tied up with someone I didn’t plan on marrying, ya know? And I didn’t think it was Hoyt's business to know,” she added.
Her skin felt clammy, but she forced herself to appear calm. He nodded his head in understanding.
"Alright. I can check to make sure it's still in place correctly. Have you-"
"I actually want it out," she interrupted yet again.
Her fingers clenched the gown as her body stiffened from her request.
“Miss. Summers, if-”
“It’s going to be Mrs. Hewitt in a few months I think,” she interrupted yet again. “We haven’t decided on a date yet. Just, I want to start a family soon. So, might as well get it out since I’m here.”
She couldn’t let him finish his sentences. Couldn’t let him even question her decision. She had to go through with it before she lost her will.
The rest of her conversation with the doctor felt automatic as he asked her some more questions before she had to put her legs up on the stir-ups.
She'd given it some thought. Not a lot. The twenty minute car ride and added twenty minute wait for the doctor to see her was not nearly enough time to make a decision. But she had. She dealt with problems when they became a problem, not before. That’d always been her style. Getting an IUD was probably the only real thing she did to avoid a potential problem. But, she wasn’t ready for kids. Technically, still didn’t want them.
It was interesting, her own shift in reasoning. There was no denying the fact that Thomas’s first and primary goal was to get her pregnant as soon as possible. But, it seemed as if that was no longer as strong of a desire as the first days. He still wanted kids. Of that she was still sure of. But, he seemed more relax around her. Better about taking their time.
There had always been an annoyed angry look in his eyes whenever she’d clean up after sex. Sometimes, he’d show his clear frustrations, especially if she added, “No baby today, Thomas”. But, a couple weeks ago he changed.
He’d brought a flip calendar into the room, setting it on his nightstand. A small daily one.
Elizabeth let out a smile at the memory.
The routine had been the same. They both were laying there, catching their breath and Thomas had leaned over and rubbed her belly, giving her a hopeful happy look. She couldn’t help but let out a sigh and shake her head.
“No baby today, Thomas,” she had said. And the smart bastard turned, grabbed the calendar and flipped it to the next day and pointed at it.
Tomorrow? His clear question.
Tomorrow…
“Alright, Miss. Summers,” Dr. Hawkins said interrupting her thoughts. “I’ll have the nurse come in with your papers then you’re good to go home.”
“Thanks, doc,” Elizabeth said, giving him a smile.
Thomas could wait for tomorrow. Hell, she could probably have gotten away with those two years. But his family were starting to become a problem. The closer she and Thomas seemed to get, the further away she felt his family move from her. Luda Mae had gotten even colder, ever since the two of them came back with Elizabeth wearing an engagement ring.
She couldn’t figure out why. They were the reason she was there after all. Despite Thomas being a part of the family, she knew that he wasn’t the one to suggest she eat dinner with them that fateful night. That had to have been Luda Mae. She couldn’t see anyone else in the family suggesting that. Hoyt was probably excited for her to fuck up so he could fuck her too. Except, she didn’t. And Thomas got his unwilling bride.
Except, at some point she became willing. And she worked her ass off showing them just how trustworthy she could be. She hadn’t tried to escape once. She kept Thomas happy. Sure she was quiet but that was because the family talked around her and didn’t really include her. She was just trying not to push them to hard. She wanted his family to like her and accept her, oddly enough. Yes, Elizabeth wanted a family of cannibals to want her. It was fucked up. She knew that. Her own parents would have a conniption if they knew what family she decided to “tie herself down” with.
Ignoring the fact that the Hewitts were indeed cannibals, one of the most egregious of sins. There was more strikes against them. They weren’t successful. The gas station they owned was barely making ends meet. They were lucky that they were located where they were. A decently traveled road that got them the customers to keep them afloat.
They didn’t hold any social standings in town. They were almost pariahs, especially Thomas. It didn’t escape Elizabeth’s notice the way the town folk looked at her compared to the family. Shocked and amazed she was there. So different. So pretty. A woman of “higher class” some farmer had remarked, in an attempt to get her to “quit her job”.
And Thomas?
There was a reason why she talked more about her brother than her parents. Especially around Thomas. She didn’t want him to wonder, want him to ask to meet her parents. They would treat Thomas the way everyone else did, if not worse. Talk in front of him like the Hewitts did to her. Only, they’d insult him and admonish her. Not that she wanted their approval.
His genetic problems meant their children would have them as well. He was a fool if he thought that her genes could fully trump his. But, he probably hoped.
Elizabeth absentmindedly got back into the squad car. She wrapped her arms around her chest as Hoyt turned on the AC again, setting it at the highest power possible.
She would have to talk to Thomas about it. Make him understand that their children would not turn out like her. Half of her, half of him. Maybe they’d have a lucky one. One who somehow managed to get the “good genes” between them. But, in the end, she didn’t care what her kids looked like.
She glanced at Hoyt for a moment.
She didn’t care because Thomas’s family would still accept the children, no matter their looks, able-bodied or disabled. That was the thing. That was what she wanted and craved. She had that with her brother. He fully accepted her for the person she was, even though he didn’t quite approve of her methods when it came to getting revenge for him.
Their parents, on the other hand, did not. They held high standards for their children in every aspect of their lives. They were never quite good-enough. It was why they rejected their son. The standards had to be lowered for him and they weren’t willing to do that.
Elizabeth’s heart twisted slightly and she sent a silent “thank you” to her brother. The fire had changed their lives. Changed her. Made her into a better person and that saved her life. If it wasn’t for the fire and her brother, she had little doubt she’d be dead by now.
She glanced at Hoyt again. As much as he creeped her out, there was a part of her that wanted him to accept her as well. She was good enough for Thomas. And she wanted to be good-enough for his family too. So that they’d stop talking about her around her and start talking to her. So it wouldn’t feel that Thomas was the only person in her corner.
She gently stroked her belly. A baby never solved relationship problems. But, that was between the couple. She didn’t want to have a baby to please Thomas. She wanted one to seal her role in his life and with his family. She was there to stay. And she was tired of walking on eggshells around them.
Clearly, marrying Thomas was not going to get the message across. But, being the mother of his children would.
Elizabeth focused her attention on the moving terrain. Hopefully, they’d be happy now. If she wasn’t pregnant by the end of the month she’d be surprised.
Who would have thought? That one day she’d be doing all she could to gain the approval of a family of cannibals. Damn, she was fucked up. Her energy had gone from trying to survive and hopefully find an opportunity to escape, to trying to get them to like her.
An unusual tree caught her attention. She frowned and sat up straighter. She’d never seen it before. The car turned down a dirty road and headed into the forest.
“Where are we?” she asked. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up. She’d never been in this part of the countryside.
Hoyt didn’t say anything as turned down another hidden dirt road and stopped next to an old dilapidated barn.
“Hoyt?”
He turned off the engine and then grabbed the keys before stepping out of the vehicle. Her heart raced rapidly in her chest as she watched him walk around the car. He threw the door open before her brain could kick in and make her lock the door.
“What are you-” She let out a scream as he roughly grabbed her hair and pulled her out of the car. He threw her forward. She screamed again as she dropped onto her hands and knees. Sticks pressed into the palm of her hands from the ground.
“I told them. I told the two of them you were nothing but trouble.”
His fingers dug into her hair and he roughly pulled her head back.
“What did I do?” she screamed, grabbing his fingers to try and alleviate the strain on her hair.
“What’d you do?” he asked. He pulled her up and spun her, throwing her chest first against the car. The wind was knocked out of her lungs for a moment. She barely had a chance to recover before he pressed up against her.
“Oh, you know what you did.”
She struggled, desperately moving her hands and pushing her knees against the car. She had to get away. Run through the woods. Make it back home. Back to Thomas. He’d protect her.
Somehow, she slipped past Hoyt and started to run. She didn’t make much ground as he tackled her to the ground, knocking the wind out of her again. She didn’t have a chance to think. Cold steel wrapped around her wrists as he cuffed her hands behind her back. Flipping her onto her back, he straddled her. She cried out as her weight pressed against her hands and shoulders.
“Get off me, Hoyt!” she demanded the moment she could breath again. She wiggled her body, and pushed her hands against the ground.
“Care to tell me what this is?” he asked as he lifted up a plastic bag. Inside was the small IUD.
“I… you…”
The doctor had betrayed her. Or, the family tricked her. Tricked her into believing the doctor wasn’t one of them. Her throat dried up as she fought the urge to cry.
“I told that boy you were nothing but trouble. A liar. All you pretty ones are the same,” he said, shaking his head. He stuffed the plastic bag in his pocket.
“I got it taken out because I want kids now, Hoyt,” she said. Her voice quivered despite her best attempts to sound brave.
“Liar, liar, pants-” he paused and looked behind him. A lecherous smile crossed his face. “Well, you ain’t got no pants but they would be on fire if you did. Think we were born yesterday? Think we were fools? You got it taken out because you got caught.”
He unholstered his gun.
“I told Luda Mae didn’t make no sense how your belly wasn’t round yet with that boy’s child. The way you two have been going at it.” He shook his head and pressed the gun to her temple. “I should shoot you right now for lying to him. Made him think he was going to be a daddy. Smiled all sweet like, batting them eyelashes. But you’ve been making fun of him. Laughing at him behind his back.”
“No, Hoyt, I-”
He raised his hand in the air as if he was going to slap her, causing her to flinch.
“You know, I was beginning to believe you actually liked him. You’re good. But I know your kind. You don’t. You just trying to save your own skin. Understandable of course, but I hate liars. Liars gotta be taught a lesson.”
He set his gun to one side and reached down. Before she could stop him, he grabbed her breasts over her clothes and smiled. He was quick, pushing her top down with her bra so her tits popped out.
“Damn,” he said with a whistle. His old dry hands rolled her nipples.
“Don’t touch me!” she yelled as she struggled to move. Thomas, why didn’t you come with me? “Thomas will-”
“That boy will do nothing,” Hoyt interrupted with a laugh, making her freeze. He squeezed her breasts, then twisted her nipples hard, making her cry out.
“You think you got him wrapped around your little finger? Sure, he likes you. Likes ya a lot. But you’re a right bitch who needs to be taught a lesson.” He got off her and flipped her onto her stomach.
She struggled, desperate to escape the assault. Thomas would save her. He saved her last time. All she had to do was get to her feet and run home, somehow.
She heard the Hoyt’s belt buckle loosen, causing her to double her efforts and try to escape. She kicked at the ground, stirring up dust. Hoyt grabbed her handcuffed wrists, twisting slightly, shooting pain up her arm. There was no stopping the cry of pain.
“No!” she screamed the moment his warm hand rubbed her ass. He flipped her skirt up then quickly pulled down her underwear, before laying down on top of her.
“Hoyt, I’m Thomas’s! I love him. Don’t do this,” she begged.
Hoyt stopped moving. His body still lay over hers. He leaned in. She turned her head to look at him. His hot, stinky breath hit her face.
“Please, Hoyt. Don’t,” she begged.
“‘Hoyt, please don’t’,” he taunted. “You’ve been making him get his hopes up he’s gonna be a daddy only to have that babymaker of yours closed. Think of it this way. We do it here, Tommy doesn’t have to see your humiliation. But if you want, we can go home and you’ll remember your place in this family in front of Tommy. Hell, I’ll be sure to remind him exactly why you’re here. Have the whole family watch.”
His hand brushed her slit. She screamed and shook her head as she tried to escape again. She couldn’t let him. Exhaustion hit her faster than she expected. It hurt to breath, as he pressed her against the ground.
“Normally, I would try to get ya a little wet, but I know you’re gonna be a bitch about this.”
She felt him. Felt his hard cock behind her, making her eyes widen. If she could only- Except, whatever fight was in her disappeared as reality hit. She couldn’t stop him.
“Not you,” she said softly, shaking her head. “Please. I’m sorry. But, I can have kids now. I-”
“That’s true,” he said with a nod. His left hand squeezed her ass. “Still gotta teach you a lesson about lying to us.” His right hand wrapped around her mouth, muffling her scream. She felt hot tear stream down her face as he invaded her body.
“Shit.”
Her scream turned into a wail. Her heart ached in utter humiliation and horror that Hoyt had gotten the opportunity to rape her.
“Damn, you got a tight cunt,” he growled in her ear as he thrusted in her. “Surprised, to be honest. I’ve seen the cock on that boy. I expected you to be a bit loose. Was even thinking of fucking your ass. Glad I didn’t. I mean, still might later on. This is gonna be one short fuck, you’re squeezing me like ya a virgin.”
The rough ground rubbed against her skin as his body forced hers to move.
Her mind went blank for a moment, as she tried to pull herself back to that place. That same place she used to go to during her first days with the Hewitts. When Thomas raped her. Except…
His fingers dug into her hip in a bruising manner. “Hot damn, no wonder Tommy likes you,” Hoyt hollered. “Fuck, I’m gonna cum.
No. She panicked for a brief moment, before anger replaced her fear. She clenched her jaw and fists. I fucking dare you, she thought as she gave him a side-eyed glared. She had survived Thomas. She would survive Hoyt as well. Hoyt didn’t know it. The old man didn’t even realize it. But Thomas loved her. He had protected her. Couldn’t protect her now, but he wouldn’t let this slid.
“Oh, fuck,” Hoyt moaned as he stilled. With a happy sigh, he pulled out of her and stood up. She rolled over and sat up. Her eyes glared back at Hoyt. Her heart dropped as the older man slipped a condom off his cock. Their eyes met and he gave her a wink.
“I ain’t an idiot, girl,” he said with a lecherous smile. “That baby’s gotta be Tommy’s.”
She felt numb, for now. But eventually that numbness would be replaced by anger. Of that she was sure. He did it. He fucking raped her. Idiot. He didn’t see it. Didn’t see that in Thomas’s eyes she was more than just a babymaker. She didn’t need his cum in her pussy to get Thomas to believe her.
Hoyt leaned against the squad car as he watched her. Her hands were still cuffed behind her. Her breasts still pulled over her top. She tried to move to cover herself, but it was impossible.
Hoyt turned, opened the passenger side door and pulled something out of the glove compartment.
“Clean yourself up,” he demanded as he tossed her a small towel. It hit her in the face. Not that she could catch it with her arms cuffed behind her.
He chuckled as he crouched behind her and undid her cuffs. The moment she was free she covered her breasts back up and scurried to her feet and away from him.
She glared at him. “You planned this,” she muttered. Her hands automatically wrapped around her body to hug herself.
Hoyt stalked over to her, making her walk back till she tripped and fell hard on her ass. He quickly crouched and roughly grabbed her face, making her look at him.
“We’ve all been a bit too nice to ya. You don’t deserve it. You ain’t family. As I said, you’ve been lying to poor Tommy this whole time. I told the boy you weren’t to be trusted. But love does that to a man. Makes him blind. And Tommy, well…” He let out a sigh and tapped his head. “He ain’t completely there. That’s why he’s got family on his side. We look out for him.”
She glared at him. What Hoyt didn’t realize was that she had Tommy on her side as well. They had developed a bond. She cared about him as much as he cared about her. This single event was going to bring Thomas closer to her and further from them.
“You’re planning on telling him, aren’t ya?” Hoyt asked. Somehow, he’d read her thoughts.
He let out a chuckle. “Go ahead. Tell him. I’ll let him know how you came on to me. How when I found out about you keeping your babymaker closed for business you seduced me. How you said he wouldn’t know as long as I wore a condom. ‘I didn’t want to, Tommy. But you know your old uncle. Can’t resist a pretty lady who flashes her wet cunt at me.’”
She shook her head. He won’t believe you.
Hoyt stood up and lit a cigarette while he laughed, nodding his head. “Really think he’ll believe you over me? Me? His uncle who has loved and cared for him his whole life? Who made sacrifices? Or the bitch who was supposed to be supper. The harlot who pretended she could have babies. Getting his hopes up, but then seducing his uncle the first moment she got to be alone with him.”
Elizabeth rose to her feet and wiped her nose with the back of her hand. Thomas would believe her. He proposed to her. He loved her.
Hoyt’s hand shot out, grabbing hers. She let out a little cry of surprise and pain as he twisted her fingers to see the engagement ring. “You thought you had him all wrapped around your finger, didn’t ya?”
She somehow managed to pull her hand away from his grasp. He shook his head.
“You ain’t gonna tell the boy a goddamn thing, Lizzy dear,” Hoyt said. He took a deep drag. His eyes glistened with glee. “Think he’ll understand why you’ve been lying to him this whole time? You and me both know you gotta keep him happy if you want to keep on living.”
Her body shook as she tried to control her emotions. Her own thoughts. Thomas loved her… didn’t he? He’d get upset at her lie, but, she’d make him understand. Somehow.
Hoyt let out another laugh. “You still don’t get it, do you?” He snatched her hair and pulled her to him. His foul breath smelled of cigarettes as he looked down at her. She cried out and grabbed his wrist to try and stop the pain.
“He’s loyal to family as one should be. What do you think he’ll do to me? Nothing, girl. What’s that saying? Blood’s thicker than water? Well,” he paused and glanced down at her stomach for a moment. “You ain’t blood. And you never will be.”
Numbness coursed through her body. He must have realized that his words had the effect he intended. His fingers let her hair go, allowing her to drop onto the ground again.
Not family. Not blood.
He dropped the cigarette onto the ground and stamped it out before wiping his hands on his pants.
“Best get yourself all cleaned up and ready to go back before I find myself needing some cunt again,” he said with a laugh. “Or maybe I’ll try your ass.”
Elizabeth stared at the treeline. Blood is thicker than water.
Blood.
Something broke in her brain as her world shattered around her.
She was fooling herself. Had been for a long time. Hoyt was right. Thomas wouldn’t stand up for her. He wouldn’t punish his uncle for raping her no matter how much he liked her. Maybe he’d even condone it. She had lied by omission.
And Thomas was loyal to family. She may not have asked him to come with her, but there was no way he didn’t see the panic in her eyes. Her silent begging. But, he’d gone with his mother. Any time any of his family called for his help he left her to help them. He would always leave her for them.
Her shoulders sagged as she felt a weight press heavily on them.
The first few days living with the Hewitts had been numb and distant. Her own way to cope and figure out how to deal with her situation, let her mind slowly figure out her new place in life. But she learned. She overcame. She adapted. She knew things could be better. Not ideal, but better. And things did get better. She was safe and happy. Well, as happy as one could be considering the situation she was in.
Not family.
Her heart ached. The worst part was, she wanted to be a part of his goddamn, fucked up family. Wanted to be accepted by rapists and cannibals who saw her as nothing but walking meat that happens to be able to produce babies.
Her eyes focused on the “engagement” ring Thomas had given her. Lies.
She looked up at Hoyt for a moment. He had his back turned to her.
She was never going to be family. Even if she got pregnant and had a child or two or a horde. She would forever not be family. What was the point? After all she did, all she tried to do? She didn’t try to run away, even though she had opportunities to. She could have gone with that “Handsome Joe” or whatever his name was. Or even the doctor… No, not the doctor. Clearly he was on the Hewitts’s side. Didn’t matter. The point was, she had great chances and could have taken them, but she didn’t. She could have gone down to the basement at any point and just ended her life. But she didn’t. She kept pressing on. She kept trying to live. For what? To live the roller coaster of a life that she was in. She wasn’t safe. She’d never be safe from being used and abused.
Her body pulsed as she stared at the ground. She had no one.
The thought made her feel small and alone, but it was true. She had no one to rely on but herself. But what could one woman do against a family of cannibals out in the middle of nowhere Texas?
Elizabeth stood up, her body ached with her movements, but that didn’t matter anymore. Nothing did. She wasn’t exactly sure how she did it, but her emotions slowly faded away. She didn’t need them anymore.
She looked at Hoyt. He didn’t look back at her, whistling as he stared into the forest as if it was just a casual day.
A means to an end. She was a god damn fool, trying to live some sort of fucked up fantasy. To really think she could make a decent life for herself? Find some sort of good out of the horrible situation she was put in.
She quietly slipped off the ring Thomas had given her, letting it drop to the ground. It landed with a soft thud.
Lies. Fantasies. She was giving herself false hope. And she really shouldn’t have tried. She should have stayed in her own little world. Even if that meant Thomas getting mad at her and killing her early. She was done trying. She was done with hope. If life taught her anything it was that all she got was pain and suffering.
Hoyt was right. She'd never be family.

Legal & Secure: Installing Flood Barriers According to U.S. Specifications
Flooding is a growing concern across the United States, especially as climate change continues to drive rising sea levels, heavier rainfall, and more frequent storms. Whether you're a homeowner in Florida, a business owner in Texas, or a developer in New Jersey, installing flood barriers is an essential step toward protecting property and ensuring long-term resilience. But it's not just about choosing the right product it’s also about doing it legally and safely. Flood barriers must meet specific installation standards and regulatory requirements in the U.S. to be effective, compliant, and insurable. In this blog, we break down the key federal, state, and local specifications that guide flood barrier installations and what you need to know before you start.
Why Specifications Matter
Flood barriers are only as good as their installation. Improper setup not only puts your property at risk, but it can also result in:
Voided warranties
Insurance claim denials
Local code violations
Reduced flood protection efficiency
Fines or mandatory removal orders
To avoid these costly setbacks, it’s essential to understand and follow U.S. flood barrier installation standards.
Key Regulatory Bodies & Standards
1. FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency)
FEMA provides guidelines for flood protection systems through its National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and Technical Bulletins, such as:
FEMA TB 3-93: Non-residential floodproofing requirements
FEMA P-936: Floodproofing non-residential buildings
ASCE 24-14: Design standards for flood-resistant construction (often referenced by FEMA)
For any structure in a FEMA-designated Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA), compliance with these standards is critical—especially if you want to qualify for flood insurance discounts.
2. IBC (International Building Code) & ASCE 24
Many states and municipalities use the IBC and ASCE 24 standards to regulate flood-resistant construction, including barrier systems. ASCE 24 lays out elevation requirements, material specifications, and performance criteria for barriers in flood zones.
3. Local Building Codes
Each city or county may have additional or stricter rules about flood barrier installation. These can include:
Permit requirements
Site-specific engineering approvals
Inspection protocols
Height and width limitations based on local hydrology
Flood Barrier Installation Best Practices
✅ Get a Site Assessment
Before installing, consult a certified flood protection specialist or civil engineer. They’ll evaluate flood risk, barrier placement, and structural impact.
✅ Choose Certified Products
Look for barriers that meet or exceed FEMA, ANSI/FM (Factory Mutual), or ASTM standards. Some insurers or municipalities may require certification.
✅ Secure Proper Permits
Always check with your local building department for permitting rules. Installing flood protection without a permit can result in fines or forced removal.
✅ Follow Manufacturer Guidelines
Each flood barrier product has its own specific installation requirements. Follow these closely, especially for anchoring, sealing, and pressure resistance.
✅ Plan for Maintenance and Storage
Many systems—especially portable or modular ones—require ongoing maintenance and proper storage to remain compliant and functional over time.
Common U.S. Installation Requirements
Elevation: Barriers must be designed to protect up to a specific base flood elevation (BFE), which varies by location.
Duration: Systems must withstand water exposure for a set period (often 72 hours).
Load Resistance: Must resist hydrostatic and hydrodynamic forces from moving water.
Anchoring: Permanent or semi-permanent systems must be properly anchored to prevent collapse.
Egress: Barriers cannot block emergency exits or hinder safe evacuation.
Final Thoughts: Secure by the Book
Installing flood barriers is a smart, proactive way to protect your property—but it must be done by the book. By following U.S. specifications, you're not only ensuring your barrier will perform under pressure, but you're also protecting yourself from legal, financial, and insurance complications down the road. Flood protection shouldn’t be guesswork—it should be legal, secure, and built to last.

Securing the Grid’s Lifeline: Why Cybersecurity Is Non-Negotiable for Energy Systems
As power grids and battery storage systems become smarter and more interconnected, their vulnerability to cyberattacks grows exponentially. With modern grids relying on digital controls and renewable energy integration, a single breach could cascade into nationwide blackouts, economic collapse, or even physical disasters. Here’s why cybersecurity is the bedrock of our energy future-and what’s at stake if we ignore it.
The Grid: A High-Value Target in the Digital Age Electricity grids are critical infrastructure, ranked alongside water supplies and telecommunications. A successful cyberattack could:
🔹Trigger prolonged blackouts, paralyzing hospitals, traffic systems, and industries.
🔹Cost savings billions in lost productivity and recovery.
🔹Compromise national security by disabling defense infrastructure.
Modern grids are no longer simple wires and poles. They're networks of smart meters, sensors, and automated systems that optimize energy flow. While this digital evolution enables renewable integration and efficiency, it also creates new attack surfaces-from phishing scams targeting grid operators to malware infiltrating control systems.
Battery Energy Systems: The Silent Vulnerability Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are essential for balancing renewable energy but face unique risks:
🔹Data Integrity Attacks: Hackers can falsify battery sensor data (eg, state of charge), causing overcharging, premature depletion, or failure to deliver power during emergencies.
🔹Command Manipulation: Altering control might signals force batteries into unsafe cycles, accelerating wear or triggering thermal runaway-a catastrophic overheating chain reaction.
🔹Denial-of-Service (DoS) Attacks: Overloading communication systems could disconnect BESS from the grid, destabilizing energy supply during peak demand.
A compromised Battery Management System (BMS) doesn't just risk a short-term outage. Repeated attacks could degrade battery lifespan by 30% or more, turning a $500 million storage facility into a liability.
Consequences Beyond the Blackout The fallout from a major cyberattack extends far beyond flickering lights:
🔹Healthcare Collapse: Ventilators, dialysis machines, and vaccine refrigerators fail. Backup generators-if functional-burn through finite fuel.
🔹Economic Freefall: Stock markets halt. Factories idle. Supply chains snap. The 2021 Texas freeze costs $130 billion; a coordinated cyberattack could dwarf that.
🔹Physical Damage: Overcharged batteries explode. Substations overload. In 2021, a Florida water plant hack nearly poisoned thousands—a warning of infrastructure sabotage.
🔹Social Chaos: Looters target darkened stores. Misinformation spreads as communication networks fail.
Building a Cyber-Resilient Grid Protecting energy systems requires a defense-in-depth strategy:
🔹Secure Hardware: Tamper-proof sensors and encrypted BMS firmware to block data manipulation.
🔹Network Segmentation: Isolate critical systems from public-facing IT networks to limit breach spread.
🔹AI-Driven Monitoring: Detect anomalies in real time, like sudden voltage spikes or abnormal battery cycles.
🔹Regulatory Muscle: Enforce strict cybersecurity standards for utilities and penalize lax compliance.
LoopXCell Batteries Engineered by Amoovo can be a Safe Option LoopXCell batteries engineered by Amoovo offer enhanced cybersecurity safety due to their fully integrated design, which minimizes external connections and potential points of intrusion commonly exploited in cyberattacks. By embedding inverters, MPPT controllers, and battery management systems within a single, sealed unit, Amoovo reduces the attack surface and limits unauthorized access to critical control components. Additionally, their smart energy management system supports secure communication protocols and compatibility with trusted platforms, enabling real-time monitoring and rapid detection of anomalies. This integrated, secure architecture significantly lowers the risk of cyber threats disrupting battery operation or compromising energy supply, making LoopXCell a robust choice for protecting critical energy infrastructure against cyberattacks.
Cybersecurity isn’t just an IT issue-it’s a matter of public safety. As grids modernize and battery storage expands, every connected device is a potential entry point for attackers. The recent European blackout, though not confirmed as cyber-related, exposed how fragile our systems are. Investing in robust defenses today isn’t optional; it’s the only way to keep the lights on tomorrow.

The Unmatched Reliability of Asbestos Rubber Sheets in Modern Industry
Why Aohong’s AM-300 Series Solves Your Gasket Failures
In industrial sealing applications, asbestos rubber sheets remain the unsung heroes — and Aohong’s AM-300 series solves the 3 most common failure points that plague standard gaskets. Let’s examine why 78% of petrochemical plants now specify these heat-resistant gasket materials…
1. The Hidden Dangers of Cheap Asbestos Sheets
We analyzed 32 gasket failures last year and found:
Material degradation begins at just 450°F with standard compressed asbestos fiber sheets
Compression set issues (remember that 2014 refinery explosion in Texas? Our lead engineer still keeps a piece…)
Thermal cycling problems that… well, see Fig. 2B (or maybe 2C?) for the pressure curves

Case in point: A Midwest power plant was replacing boiler flange compatible sheeting every 8 months until they switched to… but more on that later.
2. Aohong’s Material Science Edge
Since our 2012 formulation breakthrough, Aohong has pioneered:
✓ Ceramic-fiber reinforcement (unlike imported asbestos sheets) ✓ 8% asbestos content vs industry-standard 5% (Chart 1) ✓ Dual-certified (Meets ASTM F104 standards, though our marine clients prefer BS 2756)
“The AM-300’s thermal conductivity of 0.12 W/mK [verify spec sheet] changed everything,” confessed a plant manager at [Major Oil Company]. “We stopped…”
3. Petrochemical Plant Retrofit Case Study
Here’s the incomplete comparison table from our Houston project:
short peaks to 680°F — Post-2020, refineries now prioritize this safety margin after… actually, that’s another story.
4. Why Engineers Specify…
Aohong ‘s QC team insists on three things most suppliers ignore:
Batch testing (Our 2008 failure taught us this)
Thickness consistency (Options: 1/16", 3/32", or… was it 1/8"?)
Post-installation audits
The Last Gasket You’ll Need
making Aohong’s reinforced asbestos sheets the final solution for high-compression asbestos fiber laminates. Whether facing thermal insulation packing challenges or extreme pressure scenarios, our high-temperature sheeting delivers — provided you avoid these 4 installation mistakes (ask your rep for page…).
