attentiveness and vigilance are qualities in which Perceptor takes great pride in possessing, particularly when they concern a certain individual. there isn't any hesitancy or doubt either, when he is set on something he intends so see it through in full, never careless in execution. things align peculiarly, not in a detached way, yet enough that Perceptor truly has to step back and process how everything snowballed so quickly. it's never a complaint, it arrives with astonishment alongside a burst of praise he cannot wait to share with you. he considers himself the extremely lucky one, to have not only strong affection, but reciprocated feelings from you. gratification is the only true explanation he can find, truly enamored by your ability to so effortlessly bring him profuse happiness.

easily enough, the dynamic never shifts or becomes something of the past. there's a deep rooted fondness that escapes behind closed doors, only after the exchange referencing romantic sentiments occur. outwardly, everything appears as if nothing changed, diving head-first into long-winded conversations that make you feel so loved and appreciated. what begins as a random topic or a simple question often evolves into hours-long discussions, diverging and branching off in numerous directions. Perceptor would sit and listen to you talk all day long if he could, ever the multi-tasker but itching to hear your explanation and rationale on the subject. you hold remarkable intelligence, and your smile carries a warmth that can brighten any room. when Perceptor looks to you, he finds a sense of home that he can't quite define with words, but it momentarily overwhelms him with a sense of safety. as if his feelings were permanently shielded from ever being made a mess of again.

you aren't able to hide much from Perceptor, and that includes good surprises and the unfavorable situations you aren't so ready to discuss. he's taken notice that you speak very loudly with your eyes, deflection and disquiet your means of escaping conversations you'd rather not debate, lest not presently. he is never one to push nor pry, yet he'd make it abundantly clear that he's ready to talk whenever you are, meaning that in full. Perceptor is copiously compassionate, someone who's words of encouragement and understanding are genuine. nothing gets past him, in the most unselfish and supportive way possible. for how calm and impassive he appears in surface-level tendencies, Perceptor will always be one of the most benevolent and sympathetic personalities, consistently attentive and devoted whenever it concerns his s/o.

Did this little doodle based on revelboo's cute fanfic of human reader lounging on Percy while he works. The image stuck in my mind and I've wanted to draw it for a while.

HAUUGHRHGHH ANALYZING THE MICROSCOPE MAN

I look at him and I see that they did a decent job with his design because there are the parts that actually correspond to a real microscope. And I work with microscopes, I know the basic anatomy of one.

On his forearms are two smaller dials, and these would generally correspond to moving your microscope slide up and down + left and right, respectively.

Over his shoulder is the scope, which is.. the scope we look through. On top is another dial, maybe for lens focus?

Thing on his chassis might be the stage itself (the place where you put the sample you wanna look at).

His limbs and frame do resemble, somewhat, the actual frame of an actual microscope.

There are, of course, parts I can't find, such as the light itself and light adjustment dial, the two (or one, depending!) dials for moving the stage up and down, etc, but he does look like a microscope.

..I'm normal about Percy, I swear.
