“Evangeline!”

“Ms. Sinclair over here!”

“Look this way!”

The young starlet walks down the red carpet, the train of her gown in her hand as she makes her way to an interviewer. The buzzing crowd does nothing for her nerves, but she focuses on the pride she feels as everyone calls out for her.

“We’re here with Evangeline Sinclair. She walked the red carpet for the first time just yesterday for her premiere of her brand new horror movie. Everyone seemed to love it and the reviews are to die for. How do you feel?” The interviewer dives in straight away.

Evangeline only has a millisecond to catch her breath.

“So excited. This movie is special to me and I want people to really feel that. I hope that transcribes well through all the hard work that was put into that project,” she breathes out, hands clutched over her heart to show that her words are heartfelt.

“Today you’re here as well to support your fellow Loewe crew and Luca who you’ve previously worked with.”

“Yes, I am. Luca is a fantastic director and he’s perfect at having a vision and making it come to life. I’m honored to be here to celebrate and support such an amazing film and an amazing cast and crew”

“If you don’t mind shifting gears, rumor has it that Drew Starkey is your newest costar for another horror movie coming out sometime next year,” the woman says excitedly.

“Well I guess it isn’t a rumor anymore. Yes, he’s my costar and we’re actually in the middle of filming. Our lovely cast and crew were gracious enough to allow us to be here supporting our other projects,” Evangeline grins, a little flutter growing in her heart at the thought of Drew.

“Well the chemistry must be strong between you two. I can just feel the electricity buzzing when you walk by one another,” the interviewer points out, making a blush form on the actress’s cheeks.

“He’s amazing to work with. What can I say? Our chemistry is unmatched and that’s why we’re starring in a major movie together,” she muses through a big grin.

“I think I heard my name,” Drew chimes in, popping up behind Evangeline.

His hand finds the small of her back and he places a chaste kiss to her cheek, furthermore making her face blaze.

“Drew! How kind of you to join us. What’s it like working with this generation’s scream queen?”

Both Drew and Eva share a quick glance, their eyes quickly flitting away from each other. The girl is highly aware of his large hand still present on her back.

“Ah man. She’s- yeah she’s perfect. Someone that everyone wants to work with, and I just so happen to be the lucky one to do so. She’s super talented and she really knows how to put dedication into the craft,” Drew compliments, directing his gaze back to her.

They all look at each other just about speechless. Evangeline wasn’t expecting for him to say that and it clearly caught the interviewer off guard.

“He’s such a flatterer. I should be saying that I’m the lucky one, being able to work with him,” she shakes off her surprise.

“And soon everyone will be the lucky ones when they’re able to see your film in theaters.”

Evangeline turns her body into Drew’s, her hand landing on his chest in an affectionate manner. Although their touches seem to be mostly platonic, everyone will still be able to see the tension bouncing between their eyes.

“We can’t wait for everyone to see it,” Drew gleams and squeezes the actress into his side.

“Thank you, Drew and Evangeline. It was nice talking to you both,” the interviewer concludes her interview and the duo bid their goodbyes.

“You should pose with me for pictures,” Drew leans down to whisper in her ear.

The girl blushed furiously this time, heart practically beating out of her chest. Whenever she’s around Drew, her senses go haywire.

“No way. You’re the star of the night,” she huffs out.

“And you’re always a star.” Can he be any more perfect?

“One picture. Only one, Drew,” she gives in.

After a few pictures- after the paparazzi couldn’t get enough of them -the duo make their way inside, away from any prying eyes or lenses.

“I didn’t get a chance to tell you that you look beautiful,” Drew sighs as if it's been weighing on his chest.

“Thank you. You look handsome as well.”

His hands find their way back onto her back, slowly tugging her into him for a long overdue hug. Evangeline doesn’t dare stop herself from looping her arms around his neck. His hair tickles her fingers in a pleasant way, reminding her of all the times she’s played with his hair on set.

If someone were to see them, they’d think they’re a couple. Hell, sometimes her mind even tricks her into thinking they’re a couple. Truth is, their bond has become so strong, a catalyst from co-starring in a movie together. Their characters are each other’s love interest, and they’ve had their fair share of onscreen kisses that have pushed their relationship to toe the line between fiction and reality.

Snapping the girl out of her thoughts, Drew slides a hand down her arm and interlocks their fingers.

“Shit. I need to get going and meet up with Luca and Daniel and everyone else,” he mutters, lowering his head in slight annoyance.

“Nervous, Starkey?” There’s a tease hidden in her words and Drew catches it right away.

He fights off a bubbling laugh and just presses a hard kiss to her cheek.

“It’s okay if you’re nervous,” she adds after he fails to respond.

“I’m fine. I know you’ll be in there, seated right behind me,” he says and gathers her in his arms once again. Even in heels, Eva still has to be on her tiptoes to press her forehead to his.

“Mmm right. I almost forgot that I’m your non-date,” she laughs. Drew had asked her to accompany him during his film's premiere day, knowing that her presence will keep him calm. He also can’t deny that he adores seeing her dolled up and by his side.

“Date,” he corrects her. She stays silent, just peering into his baby blues.

“I’m proud of you,” she whispers and finally returns his cheek kiss.

“I have to get going.”

“Go superstar,” she playfully pushes at his chest.

He squeezes at her hips, reluctantly pulling away to catch one last, longing gaze at her before meeting the cast and crew for Queer.

Day 28 - Finale

After weeks of battle and triumph, it's time to lay the 2nd season of Total Drama Sims to rest and officially crown a winner!

Our finalists, Liana Morris and Paulina Callaway, had the wits, guts, and strength to persevere through the entire game, outlasting everyone else in the process. Now, all of the eliminated contestants will be coming together to vote for a winner! Like last season, votes will be public and will go from the bottom of the leaderboard up! whats your take on marcille and pattadols post canon friendship? they seem to hang out occasionally in a couple of post canon shorts and i was wondering if your beautiful mind has anything more to add? youre amazing 💖

☺️ aha thank you so much!!! Pattadol and Marcille are sooo interesting to me because like. I think Pattadol is who Marcille would have become if her parents had both been long-lived, and she never had a reason to question elven authority. The hardworking attitude, insistence on sticking to a very rigid set of principles, a little bit of vanity in wanting to be recognized for her efforts... the slightly ridiculous uptightness and neurotic attitude at times, though at heart they're both kind people who want the best for everyone in their own ways.

In the post-canon, I'm assuming that Pattadol has her own ambassador's quarters in either the castle or the inner city, and the two of them grab tea at the castle drawing room/garden/whatever. I think they talk shop, soundboard ideas off each other, and gossip/complain a little about incompetent colleagues/problems... I think they're each others' dream work friends, honestly. Polite, competent, friendly but never getting overly personal, fun and pleasant to talk to. The fact that Pattadol's 82 and a fairly young woman by elven standards also plays into it, I think -- Marcille hasn't had another elf friend along the same maturity range and professional level of experience, so this is probably nice for her!

What I would like to see is them eventually developing a closer relationship. I think a lot about the way Pattadol reassured Marcille that, because of her accomplishments, she'd have a pretty comfortable sentence as a Canary. About the way, while there was tension because of what was happening at the time, they were both immediately very polite to each other upon meeting and kind of?? got along/clicked immediately in some ways?? It feels like they have the same kind of standards for themselves and others (as well as general inexperience and slight insecurity about their own competency, which probably makes them feel at more or less an equal level with each other).

And I think that'd be good for both of them -- having someone else that they admire, who also admires them in return and recognizes their talents and hard work. There's a very unique kind of rapport you build with someone that you hold as an intellectual peer and can trust to give you feedback that's actually reliable and up to par. While they might both be too professional to really become super close friends who can always be open with each other, there's a very real and deep kind of companionship that forms from this kind of trust, and I hope that's the direction they're heading in.

It's also extra delicious if you add in the tension of Pattadol inherently being a foreign agent from a country that isn't necessarily friendly, but they end up with that strange trust anyway... not to mention the thought that she might find herself actually admiring how Melini is growing and trying to defend it when reporting back to the queen.

ok here's my collected JW thoughts in general. obviously this is spoilers

OK.................................... so i think anet is Back. its not quite "we are SO back" levels but it COULD be "we are SO back" levels depending on what they do in the next installment

they did good, though, and i think the most obvious jump in quality is actually in the maps themselves. they feel so much better than soto maps just to run around in and explore. theres a LOT more detail and they actually feel pretty intriguing and immersive with a lot of fun easter eggs and surprises!

the story didnt always hit for me but it was still overall Better than soto. the first instance alone grabbed me more than all of soto had tbh. the bears don't personally interest me but the mursaat do, and we're getting somewhere with all the bloodstone and titan stuff

i DO enjoy the angle of the commander starting to go kind of lie-lie man acting in personal interests. isgarren is a bitch but we can also be rude to waiting sorrow for no reason oops sorry nice again haha oh man how'd this bear teleport here that's craaazy.. there were points at which i actively lost track of who we had lied to about what and when, and while the confusion grated me a bit it was also funny in a way? like yeah if i was the commander i'd lose track of this shit too right

the commander doesn't have much of a personality technically, beyond "person who does good(TM) things", and what we make of our canon commander's personality is mostly just our own notions and conceptions and interpretations being placed on them, BUT that said it felt like the story did take the commander in some interesting directions for me.

i felt like i got the sense that the commander really is sort of a "free agent" now, which is fun. when you've already killed all the dragons and your life's purpose is TECHNICALLLLYYY over but you're still around and you're still many things to many people, what do you do with your life? this, apparently.

i like us being kind of a mirror of isgarren in the sense that the comm is an ultra powerful guy, with a lot of worldly+scholarly experience at this point, who a lot of other very powerful figures respect and Need, but that not everyone necessarily Likes. yeah this is our free-range deployable killing machine politician who's kind of strange interpersonally.

my favorite instance in the whole story was the one with the bloodstone ghosts btw. i thought they did a really good job imbuing each with a fair amount of personality and showcasing a wide array of perspectives on what happened in gavril-- a thing which i was prepared to not be particularly interested in tbh, and yet...

ALSO, the voice actor for the gavril citizen ghost was SUPER good! i'm pretty sure they were a new VA but i'd really love to hear more voicework from them. in general i felt a lot of the VA work in this xpac banged-- it feels like they got a decent amount of new/fresh talent?? it's been nice, i hadn't realized how stale the world was starting to feel only hearing the same 3-5 voices constantly (no shade towards the longer-standing VAs who DO do a good job, i just wished for more variety)

REALLY liking the amount of unique voice lines and racial dialogue also

features wise its also been pretty good! i like the repeat renown heart thing plus the return of the hearts. as a revenant with a condi set i cant say ive got any issues with the spears LOL. and warclaw is super fun once you get the hang of it-- i like that it has a learning curve and some nuance like most older mounts do, as opposed to skyscale's fairly 'flat' mobility. have NOT really tried out decorating my homestead yet and ive heard mixed opinions on it, so we'll see how i feel there!

“She could be our mum one minute and the next she’s our little sister.” Liam chuckles from his seat on the back of the tour bus.

The band is in their backstage mini changing room as they prepare to head out on stage. 

“Ni, what’ve you got all over yeh face?” The blonde lad tries to dodge out of the way when YN licks her thumb and rubs away at the leftover hot sauce on his cheek.

...

“Give ‘em back, you twats!” YN yells as she chases Niall and Louis down the venue hallway.

They were all dressed up—well almost all dressed—and ready to head on stage any minute until her two bandmates quite literally snatched her heels away from her feet while she sat in the dressing room getting some last minute touches on her makeup. 

...

“YN and I grew up together so it’s nice to still have that sense of familiarity of home being away from home,” Louis nods from his interview spot in the venue hallway. "She will always be me little sister...which means that I know she can handle a joke every now and then."

Lou has YN sitting in front of a vanity as she does her hair in one of the venue dressing rooms. Zayn and Louis annoyingly keep throwing gummy bears on her lap. 

When one hits her face, she gives the boys a warning looking with a raise of her eyebrow that makes them stop immediately, looking like school boys who were scolded by their teacher. But it softens when she looks forward again and pops a gummy past her lips.

“YN is just one of the most interesting people I’ve ever met," Niall explains from his seat in the top nook of the tour bus. "She's super talented with the guitar and that's something we initially bonded over when we first met a couple years ago. And along with Zayn, her voice gives us some edge and range. We'd sound very different without her."

...

There’s a clip of the band making their way up the steep, see through stairs on stage as they sing C’mon C’mon. 

As everyone gets strapped in to get ready to be carried to the B-Stage, YN flips her ponytail behind over her shoulder before effortlessly hitting the song’s high notes. She leans her head back as she sings, getting lost in the song and feeling of being on stage doing something she loves. 

The fun part is when all of the boys get to pretend to have shocked expressions on their faces, throwing thumbs her way like they didn’t know she could do what she did.

It’s one of the crew member’s birthdays and everyone celebrates with a song and cake. It doesn’t take long before a cake fight breaks out and it was an amateur move to think that YN wasn’t going to get Harry back after he wipes frosting over her forehead. 

The camera crew is able to capture the way Harry crawls his way out of one of the green rooms but he can’t escape YN as she’s practically on top of him.

“No! No!” Harry squeamishly yells and laughs when she’s tugging on his red flannel, blindly reaching around to smear her frosted cover hand over his cheek. 

The next clip is him chasing YN down the venue hallway with frosting all over his face. They both let out screams mixed with laughter when he finally wraps his arms around her from behind. He doesn’t really think it through when he grabs her head and presses his cheek against hers. He smears their skin together to transfer the frosting and relishes in the way her laugh sounds—the kind where she lets out an unattractive snort that only comes out on rare occasions like this.

“I think she really balances us out,” Zayn nods from his spot on the brown leather couch in his art studio. "She keeps us all grounded during the busyness of it all."

...

At the back of the tour bus, she and Zayn are sat across from each other with notebooks in their laps, angled so that the other can’t see the other’s paper as they move their pencils across the paper. 

“Think m’the next Picasso.” YN beams when she shows him her attempt of drawing his portrait. It's a poor drawing overall: her lines are too harsh that when she tried to erase them, you can still see the faint lines, eyes are uneven, the nose is crooked—the only likeness she got of him was his hair.

YN's jaw drops into her lap when Zayn reveals his realistic drawing of her. There's shading and resemblance and he even made the crease she was making in between her eyebrows look beautiful.

"So you were just gonna take a picture of me and try to convince me that that's a drawing?"

Zayn's eyes squint shut as he laughs bashfully at her compliment.

...

"YN just has one of the most kindest hearts I've ever seen," Harry tucks his hands together from his spot at a dining table. He adjusts his blue beanie before saying, "Like she just adds so much light to the group and I think that's something we just all feed off of, I think."

...

YN and Harry sit in the middle of the green room with a guitar on each of their laps. Their conversation isn't picked up by from the camera's position peaking in from the doorway but she tells him something as she rearranges his fingers on the neck of the guitar.

When Harry takes a go at strumming the note, YN's nose scrunches up as she laughs and covers her face with her hands. He can't help but join in with her soon after.

“I grew up surrounded by a lot of women but I also grew up with Louis.” YN bites down on her bottom lip to keep a smile from tugging on her lips. “...So there’s that.” 

...

YN and Louis are both seen skateboarding around the inside of Madison Square Garden.

He leads the way to the snack table by one of the seating areas. He quickly snatches a bag of popcorn while she grabs a handful of mini bags of candy, a few falling behind her from the speed they were going at.

There’s another clip of the band side by side as their stylist takes some group photos of possible tour outfits. Louis discreetly reaches behind Liam to pull on YN’s ponytail. With a scowl on her face, she punches Liam’s arm thinking it was him.

���Oi! What was that for?” Liam cries out while clutching his arm.

...

“Some could say that it’s unprofessional behavior but they’re teenagers with different jobs than other people their age,” Paul explains from his seat behind one of the tables in the green room. “I thought I had a chance with YN being the more responsible one but she’s just as bad as they are. Don’t let the frilly shirts and heels deceive you.”

...

“Babe, what happened to your dress?” Emma, her personal stylist, questions when the 19 year old walks down the venue hall. YN has her skateboard in hand, knees scraped and her white dress dirty. “Where are your shoes?” She goes on to ask when she notices the pop star’s bare feet pad on the tiled floor, heels nowhere to be found.

Emma shakes her head, blinking quickly in disbelief as YN just shrugs her shoulders.

“But I’ll go look for ‘em.” Before Emma can get another word out, YN runs down the hallway. She drags the end of her skateboard until she gets enough speed before hopping onto the board, swerving past people walking by. 

...

"It's crazy to think that I didn't even want to audition to be on the XFactor in the first place. If Louis hadn't tricked me into it, my life would be so different," YN shakes her head in disbelief. "I can't imagine my life without doing this, without the boys, any of it."

She visibly studders and straightens up her back.

"Just thinkin' about that gives me chills," YN laughs.

Harry and YN both have matching INSIDER blue bandanas over their foreheads as they keep running away from their security in the back lot of the venue they’re performing at. 

They attempt to maneuver themselves under one of the fences, but they can't do so in time because Paul's pulling at Harry's leg.

YN just stays on the ground—half her body under the wired fence—and puts her hands up to block the sun from her eyes.

“Hi Noah.” She gives one of her personal bodyguards a sweet smile.

“Come on, hun. We don’t have time for this. Yeh gonna be late.” The hefty man sighs out, surely tired from all of the running around the lot, and puts his hands on his hips.

“But Noah,” She counters in a cocky tone. “A queen is never late. Everyone else is simply earl—” 

“I’ll give yeh a ride back if yeh listen.”

“Deal.” 

Once she gets herself up from the concrete, she patiently waits until he’s turned around and crouched so she can grab his shoulders and promptly hop onto the man’s back.

Noah and Paul walk side by side back into the venue with pop stars on their backs—one bandmate propped up on their back more gracefully than the other. 

As Harry slides his feet against the tiled floor, YN happily stays on her security guard's back until she’s dropped off in the band’s designated green room.

“How do you do that thing where it looks like you’re touching the top of it?” Harry questions, pointing vaguely in front of the Eiffel Tower. 

“You’ve got to get low, I think.” Niall crouches down a good distance away from Harry and brings his phone to his face.

“Does it look good?”

“Yeah, it looks like you’re holding it up.”

Harry puts on a bright smile at his band mate’s words and he poses with his hand out, palm up thinking it looks like he’s holding up one of the world's famous monuments. 

The camera pans over to YN who has her arms crossed with a confused look on her face as she chews on her gum. She looks at the camera before closing her eyes and shaking her head at how bad the positioning is.

...

“I’ve gained five brothers which could be the best or worst thing in the world. Depends on what day it is.” 

...

YN leans against the wall of the venue hallway with her eyes squeezed shut as she laughs at the sight before her.

After walking into the band’s green room with her shoulders slumped, muttering to herself and falling face first into one of the couches, the boys immediately question what happened. 

“All I wanted was some bloody M&M’s but the stupid machine ate me dollar; it even made me work for it because the bill wasn’t straight enough. Now m’left snackless and without cash.” YN pouts with her eyes closed, but they quickly flutter open and her eyebrows furrow when she hears rustling. 

She eyes the boys as they quickly walk out of the room. She’s up and out of her laying position at the sudden sound of banging. When she runs out to see what all the commotion is about, she bursts out in laughter as the boys work together to shake the heavy vending machine. 

The next clip shows Paul entering the hallway, his arms out by his sides and he shakes his head in confusion, “What are yeh guys doing?”

YN and the rest of the boys quickly scurry back into the green room, everyone’s arms filled with a plethora of the vending machine’s snacks and laughs tumbling past their lips.

I know no one watches this show, and that's really unfortunate, but I have so many thoughts about Smash that I want to share, so you all get to either hear them or ignore this post entirely. I don't really care which.

First of all, Megan Hilty is an absolute queen!! I wish her name was more well known on Broadway because wow. Her voice is so powerful and I cry every time I hear her sing don't forget me. And I actually love ivy as a character with all my heart. She's beautiful and strong and so interesting. Yeah, she's flaws and human, but she tries so hard. I was so happy when she started getting the recognition she deserved in season 2. She makes mistakes, but then she gets back up every time. I also think she had incredible potential for directing and would have like to see that explored. She just deserved better in general.

I also don't like Karen at all. Not only is she kinda boring as a character, but she's not nearly as talented as everyone seems to think. Yeah, she's pretty and has a gorgeous voice, but she's really just a so-so actress and dancer. Her songs rarely make me feel anything like Ivy's do. At the end of season 1, I only cried during her version of don't forget me because I felt Ivy's frustration so deeply. Also, Karen is kinda rude and arrogant. Like, she has no clue how theater works but acts like everyone else is constantly out to get her just because they're asking her to do something differently. She can't remember her blocking and then complains that people don't like her. And she's so sensitive. No one can tease her or even comment anything that isn't 100% positive about her without her getting upset. Furthermore, Ivy's an interesting character who makes us really care about her because of how hard she tries and fails only to get back up again. Then, they throw in her past and emotional trauma and struggles with addiction. It's really hard not to care about and root for her. Why should I care about Karen? I liked hit list only because of Jimmy, Kyle, and even Anna. Karen didn't matter at all to me because she didn't really have to struggle or fight for anything. She was kinda just along for the ride.

Third thing, Derek sucks and is super problematic, but it was nice to see him stay to grow and improve. I would've liked to see where season 3 might've taken him. I do really like his relationship with Ivy because she calls him out on stuff, and he actually listens to her. It was dumb that he never saw how truly incredible an actress she was. They would have made a great team after she really became more sure of herself and he realized how awful he was. His obsession with Karen was really weird, but I like to imagine he probably got over it by the end of season 2.

Tom and Julia were interesting, but I was actually happy to see them split at the end of everything. She always kind of took advantage of him and it bothered me. He also deserved a real relationship story, but I'm not surprised he didn't get one since he was a gay character in 2012. His relationship with Kyle was kinda creepy and Kyle should've dated either Sam or that dancer we saw him flirting with earlier in the season. Either one of those would've been less uncomfortable. Him and Sam were also never really a good match. Plus, he did Sam kinda dirty in season 2. But yeah, he should've gotten a good relationship.

I do think Sam should've gotten the lead in hit list. He deserved it, Jimmy didn't. Jimmy did a good job, obviously, but he wasn't reliable and was really uncooperative. He could've just given feedback as a writer instead of being the lead actor. I get why they did it the way they did for the TV show, but realistically, it just didn't make sense.

Kyle's death was awful. I wish we saw more of him. I think his relationship and history with Jimmy was interesting, I think it should've been explorers more instead of Jimmy and Karen, who's relationship was kinda predictable and overused. It would've been nice to see him and Jimmy sing together sometime. I wish he sang a few more songs in general because he has a really cool sound.

Jimmy and Derek also could've had a really interesting relationship if it hadn't centered around Karen as much as it did. I think they could've really helped each other. Jimmy didn't take any bullshit and Derek didn't put up with any bullshit, so they could've kept each other in line. Derek also saw something in Jimmy that few people did and I think it would've been neat to see him become a bit of a mentor.

Finally, Derek and Tom had so much potential that was never explored. Their history and their future are so unclear, but I have so many questions.

So yeah, I really did enjoy the show. It's not the most incredible show ever made, but it was fun and interesting. It's a shame it only got two seasons. I kinda blame the marketing team since so few people know it ever existed.

I'm not as big into twst anymore unfortunately but I will always have a soft spot for leovil and talking ab it w my close friend <3 sparked some points of elaboration I wish I could have explored w them more

I think they're a well-suited pair. In the one sense, they contrast just right in a way that can push and drive each other forward. The obvious is the way that Vil is someone whose way of showing love essentially is making you the best kind of person you can be. I can't pick any moments off the top of my head but Vil is someone who can drive Leona to look in different directions where the path he originally sought was closed off. Vil is someone undeterred by failure on the whole — it is not a road block but a stepping stone for him. And I think being around energy like that can really help someone like Leona.

I say drive each other specifically because I think Leona would be good for Vil in two senses. First, I think he could get Vil to chill tf out LMFAO. As admirable as Vil's drive and ambition is, like anything in life, in excess it can get self-destructive. While Leona isn't a self-help advocate per say and his nonchalance is formed from a place of lethargy, I still think having someone to pull you back when you're pushing yourself too far is nice. In the second sense, I think that Leona would be good for Vil because he doesn't give him pretty words. Vil is incredible, Vil is one of the best if not the best — but sometimes when you reach the top it can be hard to find ways to continue to improve. You face a plateau of sorts which can be frustrating. And if everyone is telling you you're beautiful, gorgeous, amazing, talented wonderful all the time ( which he is ) then that can only add to it. Of course there's Rook who keeps a critical eye, but to have someone to butt heads with and challenge you is also something I feel like Vil would find important.

With all these positives though I think there should be something said about the ways it could all go wrong ofc, and I quite enjoy the concept of leovil being together in the 1st year and having a messy divorce where they now share custody of Epel /lhj

I think there's something to be said about being in a relationship with people with depression. And I don't mean this in the sense people with mental health issues can't be in relationships because that would be ridiculous to say, but if they can be debilitating to a person of course they're going to affect parts of the relationship. Like I said earlier, I think Vil's love language is helping you to become the best person you can be. I think when they were together this would be something Vil would do for Leona in his own way — not in the sense of coddling him, because Vil is a tough love kinda gal. But it's difficult to help someone who does not let you help them/has difficulty with you helping them. Not only that but in the general sense it can be heartbreaking to see someone you love and care for slowly debilitate over time and it seems like there's nothing you can do for them.

On the flip side of this, I think Vil's pushing would be a point of contention for Leona. This isn't to say that Vil isn't understanding and wouldn't try to understand at times, but Vil is very much a tough love person. Vil gives me the impression that where you have a problem with your life the first step to achieving happiness is fixing it. Dwelling on failure and the past will do you no good and while this is true I think sometimes Leona doesn't want a solution. I think sometimes you just want someone to hear you, to listen to you. And sometimes even when the solution is so clear depression makes it so you just can't. You can't do it. It's not a matter of you being weaker or less capable but it is still a mental illness and it can be devastating.

Anyways I just think leovil are super neat and I think that leona is vil's babygirl who wants arms to curl up into in the dark of night as to not be alone with his thoughts <33 he'd also make a great housewife imo but that's not relevant

first date after breaking up: kim seungmin

this part was requested under the seungmin post by one of my readers and is the continuation of the scenario. i hope you will love it, @krishastumblernow 💝

entering the known valley, where you two used to walk around hiding from people, you noticed that is pretty overcrowded. the message said "at our place as always" so you passed by the trio of friend who were laughing. kim seungmin is the most unexpected person in your life and he never fails to make you smile, but you broke up and you felt rather awkward. what if this meeting won't end up good?

however, you were struck by his extraordinarity once you arrived to your place. seungmin was sitting on the blanket in black glasses and white tshirt that said "Seungmin is pabo". his hair was silver as he wore the wig the one felix once wore for a show. you chuckeld as he raised his head to look at you. seungmin took off his glasses squinting because the bright sun, however, he looked at you.

“ah you must be the vip student for the elective lecture” he said making the voice of the old man. he snucked a small colorful leaflet in your hands and invited you to sit down next to him. “have a seat, bright mind”

you chuckled and sat down. you used to make such small outside dates in the past, where you would read him some books about science and he always told you that you are super smart.

“so what kind of lecture i am invited to?” you asked playing along.

“you can have a look at the leaflet, young lady. let me prepare my voice.”he said continuing impersonating an old professor. you looked at the leaflet and saw the title: WHY KIM SEUNGMIN IS A PABO? leaflet was full of the silly photos of seungmin that you took and sent him. your nervousness about the date started to disappear.

you laughed and seungmin gave you a scolding look as an old professor who looks at mischievous students.

“are you ready to talk about why kim seungmin is pabo?”

“yes, teacher”

seungmin started a 30-minutes long session of roasting himself where you couldn't help but smiled. you knew exactly why he did so, as you broke up because of the joke. at least it took time for you to accept that it was a joke. stupid joke that shouldn't have even been said. it has done damage. however on that lecture date you laughed as usual! you laughed as you always did with him. somehow it was a relaxing and pleasant date, without any hurt.

“okay, okay, teacher. i don't think that this man is so hopeless.”you said softly, looking at seungmin in the wig.

“you think so, young lady?" seungmin made a short pause and stopped impersonating the old man.

“ yeah, i think if he really tries, everything is fixable.” you nodded.

“ah, god bless his soul. he’s such a fool for what he did to the person he loved.” he came back to personalization of an old lecturer. “silly silly man”

“oh my god, what did he do?”

“ he hurt the person he loved,saying something he didn’t mean to. only stupid people do that”

“ i guess he didn’t want that to happen,right?” you glimpsed at him

“ would you actually forgive someone who’d hurt you?” he asked rather emotionally.

“ if person tries hard enough, then maybe” you shrugged.

suddenly seungmin went serious. his smile faded and voice became stable.

“ i originally planned to just hide from fans and everyone else in this but then i started to improvise” he chuckled.

“it was nice. also, nice leaflet, i will keep it.” you said and seungmin smiled. “and scold you when you are a pabo.”

“i missed you so much.” you confessed.

“and i missed you too, seungmin” you nodded giving him a chuckle.

“i want to say it properly now” seungmin took your hand in his. he softly caressed your hands with his fingertips. he was nervous. “honey, i am sorry for what i said. you praise me for my bare minimum and i should have never dared to say that you are not working on yourself enough. even as a joke.” he gulped, looking at you.

“seungmin—“

“you are one of the most talented and gifted people in science that i know. i am sure that one day you will discover a new star or a planet and—“

“minnie—“

“just let me finish this sentence, it is very important to me to say this…” he asked with his soft tone. you nodded, feeling as if something in your chest is tickling. “and one day i will call you my forever.”

you suddenly felt that you are about to start crying. he was honest because he treats the word forever much more serious than any other guy. he gives it meaning like in old romance books. and from the very beginning of your relationships this fact won your heart. you looked away and he grabbed your hands a bit tighter as if being scared that you are going to stand up and leave.

“ did i… say something wrong?” he asked. you smiled and turned your head to him after some time.

“ you know what?” his eyes rounded as if a small puppy is looking at you. “ i can’t kiss an old man publicly that would be inappropriate.”

as you giggled, seungmin put off the wig and reached closer to you, hugging you closer. you gave him a small peck on lips, however he was more determined and reached for the next kiss that was longer and softer, holding you in his embrace. you missed it, you missed him.

once he stopped kissing you, you felt your foreheads meet and he giggled.

“i love you so much” he murmured.

Ciao Ash I’ve been following your work super closely for a few years and I now feel like I can ask you this, especially since you seem to be so kind with everyone and always explain yourself so well!

I work in illustration and I’ve been drawing for 10 years. For the kind of illustration I do, I rarely have to draw characters. I can draw people, in a very detailed manner too (portraits and studies and such) but when it comes to incorporating characters in my illustration style, I just can’t seem to get it right. Especially with characters who don’t exist so if I want to do fanart, I always have to do it in a way that is not very coherent to my illustration style. Which is unfortunate since I’m in a lot of fandoms and would really like to make fanart I like.

I rely on references a lot, so if I have to draw someone who exists in my style, I struggle and study and put a lot of work and time in but then I’m mostly able to. But characters from fiction? Absolutely not. I especially struggle with consistency: the character always looks different every time I draw them, no matter how many notes on their physiognomy I make…the fact that’s not a real person I can copy the features of on paper really hinders my practice. I also struggle with immediacy and synthesis: since they never look the same I always end up over - characterizing them and that is the opposite of how I illustrate.

How were you able to maintain such a consistent and stable look to these characters? Is there something I don’t know of or that I haven’t been doing and that I should? You really inspire me and I admire your work SO much! It’s remarkable how you built such a recognizable look.

and ok i will try to answer as best as i can bc i’m not a professional in the slightest and also i basically have the diametrically opposite problem as you 😭 90% of my art is blorbo oriented i’m a blorbo artist first human being second. but it’s not like i have the charisma uniqueness nerve and talent to stray much from that.

ANYWAY that being said i’m sorry to give you the Very Hated answer of “u just gotta practice” but i think that’s true! i think drawing characters outside of studies (which are always nice and good etc) might not be something you’re used to, and u just need to stretch your drawing muscles a bit in that direction too!! style and consistency are something that develop organically, so i’m sure that if you keep trying you’ll look at your art one day and be like “oh shit this works!”

Usually when i draw characters i’ve never drawn before i make little studies/portraits to figure out how to draw them (evidence 1/2/3/4) which i think could be a pretty low stake way for you to practice? like maybe you can start off with one referenced portrait and then try to draw the same face from other angles but without looking at that reference and just try to figure out what are the important features that make that face recognizable? Expression sheets are another way u could do this, and then you’d have a nice self made reference board for next time.

or you could start smaller and draw different shapes of eyes/noses/mouths etc to get the hang of it, and once you’re satisfied start building your character with the features you’ve drawn

lastly i cannot stress this enough draw that blorbo NOW!! get fucking obsessed with that freak!!! let them fuel you with the brainrotting blazing passion of 28473 suns and you’ll manage to draw a hundred beautiful faces without even noticing

it was only a few days into the new school year and although you had a decent understanding of where to go, you still had to check the map every now and then to make sure you were going to the right class. going from period 2 (english) to period 3 (environmental science) was the longest route to take and you grumbled when you traced the route on your phone.

flash forward a few weeks and everyone, including you, had created a path for themself as they went from class to class as if it was a well-timed subway station. now, you could look up and see the people who passed you as they walked in the opposite direction.

he didn’t catch your eye immediately, but you took note of what he was like, having found a small interest in him. his fashion sense was cute, with a bright colored sweater layered over a dress shirt and a nice pair of trousers. his interesting hair had also made you choose to keep an eye on him. you knew who he was from last year, as he was in the same grade as you, but you had never really talked to him on an intimate level.

they said he was super kind. and talented with sciences. well, they said he was smart in general. you could kinda recognize him from pictures your school posted whenever a student did something praiseworthy.

the day after that, you double checked your appearance in the reflection of a trophy display. you saw him and tried to keep a cool expression, trying to look natural. from out of the corner of your eye, you could see that he was wearing a beanie this time.

were beanies always that cute?

as the days turned into weeks, you kept trying to look nice for those brief seconds when you would be in his range of vision while simultaneously sneaking looks at him. even if those moments were short, you could feel your face heating up afterwards.

one day after school, you went to visit the library with a friend of yours. you saw him there, looking as adorable as always, but he was with a green-haired girl. you didn’t know what her name was either, but it raised a question that you had never considered. was he even single?

your friend seemed to know him and waved at him saying “hi tighnari,” prompting him to wave back at her with a short “hey!”

so that’s what his voice sounded like. his voice was as cute as him. and his name was something you could have sworn you heard before somewhere else.

you tried your best to not appear flustered with the flurry of emotions you were being hit with and maintained a smile as you pointed to a table that was nearby enough to snoop. not that you were going to, but just because you wanted to glimpse at him every now and then while studying.

upon closer inspection, those two didn’t look that close. maybe you could shoot your shot in the future if you ever gained the confidence for it.

that night you did a little bit of stalking on the internet about who he was. he seemed to have been extremely involved with the science clubs and environmental clubs. you found his snap as well, but felt too awkward to do anything with it. you turned off your phone and decided it’d be better to leave it.

your period 2 english teacher decided to let you out early that day as a way of showing her “kindness” and you rushed to your period 3 class. you checked your appearance in your phone, touching up your hair and checking your shirt for any wrinkles. as soon as the bell signifying the end of the period rang, you walked outside of your environmental science class.

what you didn’t see was tighnari walking out of that very classroom and nearly bumping into you.

you apologized, making sure that he seemed alright and he reassured you that he was more than fine. now that you were looking at him, he was taller than you thought. but since the two of you were right outside the door, he left and you retreated inside, heart racing.

you bit your lip, wondering if you just totally messed that up and replayed the scene over and over in your head during your class.

realizing you missed some of your notes while being lost in thought, you cursed. you’d probably have to ask one of your other friends to let you copy the notes during lunch.

when lunch came, you went to where he generally ate instead of where you usually went with your friends in hopes of getting the notes.

however, tighnari was also there, sitting with him.

you froze on the spot, still a few yards away from them. should you approach them with smiles and waves since you knew a decent amount? or should you not pay attention and just get the notes to keep an aura of mystery?

“kaveh! can you let me copy your environmental science notes? i missed a few lines,” you called out once you were within range.

he pouted, but let you copy them nonetheless and you took a seat next to him. which also happened to be next to tighnari.

“you’re gonna study with me for the next test, right y/n?” kaveh interrupted you as you copied down the notes.

you almost wanted to hug him for the smoothest name drop ever.

“sure, but when’s the test again? my mind has been scrambled all day.”

a soft voice spoke up from your left. “the test’s this friday. i could give you a study guide if you want?”

“oh thanks!” you tried to keep your voice from going unnecessarily high pitched from excitement. “i’d love to get a study guide, thank you!”

“no problem!”

you sent him your email, seeing that the study guide was made with his personal one. wow, even his email was cute.

“you’re gonna share that with me too, right?” kaveh asked from your right.

what a way to ruin the moment. but you realized you had finished your notes and you probably should get back, even if you wanted to stay next to tighnari for longer.

“thanks for the study guide,” you said again as you got up from your seat.

that night, you couldn't fall asleep as you replayed the images in your head again and again. you hid your face behind the pillow, wondering if you had done anything embarrassing or if kaveh had said anything about you that you told him to keep between them. was tighnari interested in you? you heard from lots of people that he was really nice, so maybe he was like this to everyone. out of stress, you checked the study guide and was relieved to see that it was only shared with the other guys in his friend group and you.

you squealed. maybe you had a chance. maybe you could go from hallway crush to something more.

OK SO. Yes! People who know this often praise me for it, but there's really nothing to praise! If you never try a tablet then a mouse really doesn't seem like an unsuitable tool because, nothing to compare it to, right? There's times where I have been frustrated with it because I know that for some styles, pen pressure is everything, and things get a lot tougher without it. But ultimately, I've been perfectly content with it, and I've always advocated for the fact that you don't need great tools to create something great (after all, creation begins with you!), and as such I've grown more adamant yet not to upgrade to any pen or tablet. There are absolutely very affordable tablets out there, but... Something about the simplicity of a mere old 5€ computer mouse is very alluring... And also, I don't think anyone who draws with a tablet could EVER change to a mouse, so I've just kinda decided that I'll be a novelty mouse user lol. There is nothing impressive about it to me, but I do hope it can serve as proof that art isn't limited to anything! At the very least not external tools (for most people at least!)

Anyway you're the one killing ME excuse you!! But your kind words mean the absolute World to me, istg I'm just on the verge of tears constantly these past several days thanks to people like you, and also smiling ear to ear very giddily, haha. It's also really nice of you to have acknowledged long-term effort, I think that's crucial in really appreciating art! Even as a lot of folk tend to just praise your natural talent as if artists are just born and don't work towards their skills. Are you named after anyone?

"I don't think so. I never asked mum, and well....I don't want to speak about James."

When was the last time you cried?

"I cried when Hadley accepted my proposal. They were happy tears, of course. I cried a couple of days before that when she shared a cute kitten video with me. It doesn't take much to make me tear up. What can I say? It's healthy to cry!"

Do you have kids?

"Not yet. But one day, hopefully. I can't wait to be a dad. I'm excited to teach the little ones how to ride a bike, swim, read bedtime stories. I'm going to be a better dad than James ever was to me and Mave."

Do you use sarcasm a lot?

"Not really. Unless I'm talking to Mavis. Then I'm super sarcastic! The joy of being a sibling!"

"Their smile. I want to make people happy, so if they're not smiling, I'm going to want to change that. And if they are smiling, I want to make it wider. It costs nothing to spread kindness, and I want to make the world a better, happier place!"

"I'm not much of a sports guy. I've kicked a ball about, so I'm going to say football? I was quite good at badminton when I was at school, and Arnauld tried to show me how to fence once. It wasn't my cup of tea!"

"I'm 5'7". A whole inch taller than Mave, and you can bet your life that I don't let her forget it. It's the one thing I can lord over her!"

"I liked maths and social studies. Probably should have become an account instead of a paralegal! But then I'd not have met Hadley, so it all worked out in the end."

What is your dream job?

"House-husband. I mean, who doesn't want to spend all day at home, with your family, making fresh bread, delicious meals and keeping the house nice and clean? Just give me an apron, a feather duster, and I'm happy. I'd have a bath run for when Hadley gets home, ready to give her a massage after a stressful day at work! I'd be a great house-husband! But until Hadley becomes a super barrister and we can live off one wage, I'll stay a paralegal, doing my bit for Law and Justice!"
