The affairs of magic, regardless of the world, often lead to tragic outcomes. For great power, often a price was paid and not even the gods could break the checks and balances that magic brought with it.
Such stories had been the ones that Rosaria Lucille de Rova of House de Rova had been raised on. A modest minor noble family that was known to be gifted in the magical arts though often in the ways of repair and recovery outside of the standard command of the elements. Rosaria, third daughter of her house, was trained in such ways but given her rather lower status compared to her sisters and brothers, there was more a degree of freedom to what paths she too. Beyond the standard command of magic, the de Rova prided themselves of excelling in crafts. Twas not uncommon to have a storied artist or blacksmith or jewelcrafter apart of the of their family tree. Though, many grander nobles looked down on this practice, keeping the long-lived but minor family lower on status.
For Rosaria or just Rosa as she prefered to go by, her own path was that of the kitchens. A fondness for cooking and baking. Small of stature, she pushed away from the physically demanding crafts and combined with her magical studies, the girl was ranked as both scholar and baker. Her family's wealth aided her but without a claim to her skills, proof of her overt abilities, she was expected to find something to earn her right as a de Rova.
It was in this effort, whispers of an affliction reached her ears. That of a lady named Lysithea. A girl gifted yet cursed. While the scholar within Rosa bristled for the challenge, she was no prodigy or genius. A hard-worker at most. She had dispatched a letter, explaining herself and her desire to look into this 'two crest affliction' that had cursed Lysithea. Within time, it seemed her offer for help was accepted as soon she was at the woman's home and knocked thrice upon the door, suitcase in her other hand.
Similarly, among the houses of the Leicester Alliance no one would attribute many accomplishments or the highest import to House Ordelia. They were certainly magically talented, but held a small portion of land within the Alliance territory and had little role to play in larger decisions within the region. Furthermore... there were rumors back before the war that strange Imperial agents were seen operating in Ordelia territory. Today, the royal family of Ordelia does little but invite physicians, crest scholars, and mages to see if their daughter's affliction has a possibility of remedy. Lysithea von Ordelia had fought in the war, and her condition was still precarious then as it is now. If she doesn't find some miracle soon, its possible she may not last another year. Lysithea had tea prepared, and nervously awaited the next visitor. A noblewoman only so much older than her, and skilled in magic and baking. Mm... perhaps at least she could indulge her sweet tooth to take her mind off of this. Ugh... as if she had the luxury of wasting time...!
Tumblr media
"Oh... quite punctual, I see. Greetings and welcome to Ordelia territory. I's Lysithea. Come in and we can discuss... matters... over some tea. I do hope you'll understand if its a bit... sweet."

I love the banter between Vivienne and Solas so much, but these two in particular stand out to me because they represent how similar they are at their core in their worldview, but also how Solas recognizes this and respects her enough to try and teach her (in his vague, condescending manner) without giving too much about himself away. Vivienne sees small-mindedness, mockery, and venom in his "lessons," but I don't think that's his true intent. I don't think he cares about her, of course, but I think he could, possibly, if he allowed himself to. I think she frustrates him because she is just like him.
They definitely do not consider each other peers. To Solas, for all her brilliance and talent, Vivienne is a dogmatic and close-minded mage who willingly limits herself. To Vivienne, Solas is clearly more than he appears - she knows he is up to something and more than he seems - but there is nothing that he could teach her. She has achieved the highest position and enlightenment a mage in her society can; he is a vagabond who doesn't value what she values (power, influence, standing), and therefore his insight must be worth little. Little does she know, the spirit of what she believes in has a lot in common with the things that Solas believes in. That is the irony of their relationship; Vivienne is who Solas might have been if he had been in her position. They have nothing in common on the surface only because they exist in different worlds. Bring them together with all other things being equal, and they are undeniably peers, who could work together and even develop a friendship/rivalry and deep mutual respect - if things were different.
I used to think the "Dirthara-ma" banter was pure spite from Solas at Vivienne because she, on the surface, represents all that he despises (speaking only from what the Inquisitor knows about both of them during their journey when Solas would say this to her). But I don't think it is just sneering (though that's part of it - his reaction is genuine and I'm not arguing otherwise - his delivery shows his disgust for her arrogance). I think that he is warning her where this kind of grandiose thinking leads... because he learned. He believed the world was better off with him "setting its course" and now believes it was a mistake and he lost everything because of it and will destroy everything to undo it. He knows the folly of being a powerful, ambitious, and idealistic mage; he knows it is nothing more than arrogance to wish to shape history and command empires. And while he certainly grows frustrated at Vivienne's barbs and constant challenges, he clearly respects her a great deal, and I think much of that respect stems from Solas seeing a younger version of him in her (because, Solas is, lets face it, a bit self-involved). It doesn't ultimately matter to him if she doesn't heed his wisdom, of course. Because she is a product of a world that is wrong and nothing she does ultimately matters.
I like to think that if things were different, Solas would have been a great mentor to Vivienne. I see them as kindred spirits even though they are so distanced in history and context. I think if he does see some of himself in Vivienne (including some flaws in common) it adds a layer to his experience with the Inquisition and his time walking Thedas in general. "Neither of us is a fool" means a lot coming from Solas, especially a Solas who would see this world destroyed; he sees value, commonality, in someone like Vivienne who is so totally a product of a world that he despises. She could have been a peer, a rival, even an apprentice to him if things were different. She is a proud, powerful, determined mage, doomed to learn that she doesn't have all of the answers. She is him, or someone he's known, and he can't save her. But in spite of this, he does warn her, again: "Only a fool would ignore such a stark reminder of the destruction of an empire.. but neither of us is a fool." One way to read this is that Solas is telling her of what is to come; destruction of an empire from the very relics and magic that they are agreeing are dangerous. He is careful enough with his words that one may not even recognize the threat, and I don't think Vivienne does in the moment. He tells her in this instance that she is right, and she is no fool, and she may be suspicious but she doesn't truly know what he is saying. We see this with her interactions with Iron Bull, too; Vivienne is susceptible to flattery and quick to believe that her superiority is being recognized.
And does Vivienne heed anything he says, or recognize his wisdom? I think she, at the time, sees little value in what Solas tells her, and when her suspicions are validated by his betrayal, all that it does is strengthen her resolve to stop him. But these comments in Trespasser...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
... make me think that his warning gave her a lot to think about. I do think this commentary demonstrates an evolution in Vivienne's worldview, as much of her prior commentary involved restoring order by her own hand, and valuing being in control, and "steering the world's course." I think her comments show that she knows these things are illusions and impermanent. I won't give Solas all the credit here, but I do think he gave her things to think about.

Begging you to please do something with a Sherlock reader x daniil if you ever feel like doing more for that!! Because that sounds tasty!!

Starts as a rivalry, what kind of academic would Dankovsky be if he doesn't instantly gauge the qualifications of everyone he meets and compare them against his own standings. You don't need to be an academic overachiever; Holmes wasn't.
But you can't hide genius for long, your wit has a way of showing itself sooner rather than later. A little too-informed of a medical comment slipping past your lips here, a too crisp of a foreign word pronunciation there, arriving at the gates of logic faster than Daniil has time to blink at the first sign of a conundrum facing your way.
He's... intimidated, feigning skepticism to hide his true emotions. This random person in this backwaters town couldn't possibly be his equal... could you?
Well, Daniil's not wrong. You're not his equal.
You're so much more than that. Leagues above him, to be exact.
He tests you, subtly. Baits more knowledge out of you with trailing off comments and open-ended sentences that might resemble a question if you squint. Lowering the filter he deliberately uses whenever speaking to the commonfolks, much like a city lowers its gates. Going into the nity-grity of technical terms and medical phrases.
Speaking to you with the indifference of a colleague in his field. The training wheels are off, no more watered-down latin and simplified terminology. It's a challenge, a rawr. Meant to intimidate the ignorant and beckon the knowing.
You survive the tiral by fire, much to his displeasure. You're not a doctor, not even in the medical field, least of all a graduate from a prestigious academy. He checked behind your back, double-checked, hell triple checked.
A chemist student, that was your highest credential.
You're polite, exceptionally well-mannered, albeit with bursts of unexpected bluntness. You do tend to corner people in lies, make them trip over their own words, when you deem them a suspect in a crime of some form, no matter how trivial.
It was impossible for him not to like you, a person right after his own heart. Daniil was so slow to trust you, but when he did, he fell hard.
Suddenly, he's making trips to and from your place of residence, running his every discovery and paper under your watchful gaze.
You never antagonise or belittle him for not knowing. In fact, you're always so eager to help. Welcoming his little "puzzles" is what you tend to call them. Daniil, let's it slide. Sure, his lifework is a mere puzzle to you. That's at least one step above the heresy and pseudoscience accusations usually thrown at him.
Your input is invaluable, not because you reinvent the wheel or unearth a solution from underground. No, it's priceless because of how obvious the answer was in hindsight. Once you point out what needs to be done or what the logical next course of actions should be, it becomes so apparent that Daniil can't believe he ever missed it to begin with.
Your methods are reasonable and sound, exercising critical thinking. You're not a magician. You don't wave around a wand or credit debatable extraterrestrial sources. You explain your line of thought to him whenever he asks, and he can't help but be impressed each and every time at how using simple differental methods and basic deduction skills untangled this web-like mess he found himself in.
Now he's hyperaware of how he's presenting himself to you, of the stray hairs stubbornly refusing to cooperate atop his head, of that mispronounced latin word he rushed out, of the messy handwriting on the letter he sent you.
Cursing his past self for starting off on the wrong foot, for looking a gift horse in the mouth. He should've been celebrating when he found a single reasonable individual in this town instead of grilling you with passive-aggressive intellectual tests.
Bless your benevolent mind, for you don't seem to hold his past hostility against him. It was entertaining for you, a nice brain exercise, you were growing bored in this sleepy town.
You even admit to finding it a little endearing, a little... cute.
Him, being called "cute" The Bachelor wouldn't have let this slide if it came from anyone else's mouth, but because it was you, Daniil didn't find himself minding.
Against his better judgement, he beamed a little inside at your praise. Cute, smart, whatever. He tried not to let it show just how being in your good graces lifted his spirits up.
Soon enough, the two of you grew inseparable at the hip. You letting your curiosity lead you into the next adventure, Daniil hurrying after you because he's aware of how much of a danger-magnet you tend to be—like really, how could a single person get shot so many times? Clever as you are, he could never understand how you thought it's a sensible idea to confront wrong-doers at the scene of the crime, red handed, without any reinforcement, and expect criminals to peacefully surrender when faced with your foolproof logic.
Other times, it's Daniil dragging you from place to place. Energised steps and a never-stopping chatter as he inquires about your input on every little thing. Boasting about his discoveries, looking from the corner of his eyes to make sure you're watching when he performs his doctorly duties.
Anyone who sees him interact with you can easily tell how star-struck Daniil is at your presence, how he holds himself a little higher, and his back straighter. Eyes shining as he soaks in your every word, treasuring every little nugget of wisdom.
For someone who finds himself at a total disinterest with 99% of the people he meets on the daily, who always has acquaintances but never friends, who's in the medical field for the science solely, it's nothing short of a miracle that Daniil found someone he genuinely likes.
He can confidently claim that you are the closest thing to perfection a human could ever aspire to.
Until, one seemingly uneventful afternoon, a gap in your knowledge was abruptly uncovered in the most unexpected way.
And the culprit responsible?
A quote
A simple stupid philosophy quote he recited out of habit, answering one of Eva's daily musings.
Sprawled on the couch like a cosy cat, voicing her wanderings out loud. Times were simpler before, she explained as she recalls her years of childhood fondly.
"I believe Thomas Carlyle said it best," Daniil answered, sitting on the far desk as usual, adjusting the microscope's wheels as he exaimed the same samples Rubin sent, "the past is always attractive because it is drained of fear."
The melodic sound of the violin in the background came to a halt, a faded note that lost itself between the strings. You turned away from the window you were facing, looking at the two of them.
"Who?" You inquired in the naivest way, making him pause.
"I'm sorry? who is... what?" Daniil replied.
"That Thomas fellow you just quoted, who is he?"
Are you messing with him? You had to be.
The chair creeked as Daniil shot up, turning towards you with a concerned gaze. Comedy was never one of your strong fortes, but even you surely understand how juvenile of a joke it is to pretend not to know the leading philosopher and writer of the victorian era.
"What has he done exactly?" You added as the silence stretched awkwardly. Your eyes held nothing but sincerity, authenticity dripped from your very being.
Remarkable, truly, remarkable.
In an instant, Daniil was at your side, almost cornering you against the wall as he coaxed the violin out of your arms.
Testing you on literature, philosophy, astronomy, and politics. Every common piece of knowledge he could recall.
He couldn't believe what's happening.
Nill, your information on all the topics listed above is absolutely zero. You were completely oblivious and ignorant to even the most basic of high-school level knowledge.
His surprise reached a climax, however, when he found that you're ignorant of the Copernican Theory and the Solar System composition.
The fact that any civilized human being in this century isn't aware that the earth travelled around the sun, appeared to him nothing short of extraordinary, he could barely actualise it.
“You appear to be astonished,” you said, smiling at his dumbfounded expression. “Now that I do know it, I shall do my best to forget it.”
“To forget it...?" Daniil's voice came in a desperate whisper.
“You see,” you explain, “I consider a man’s brain like a little empty attic, one to stock with furniture of your choosing. Only a fool takes in all the lumber of every sort he may come across, rendering it clogged, crowding out all the knowledge of true use to him. Or, at best, it gets entangled and jumbled with different threads."
Your hand rests against his chest, palm flat against his hammering heart.
"So that he has a difficulty in laying his hands upon it." You continued, "Now, the skilful workman is very careful indeed as to what he takes into his brain-attic. He will have nothing but the best tools that may help him in doing his work, but of these, he has a large assortment and all in the most perfect order. It's a mistake to think that the little room has elastic walls and can distend to any extent. Depend upon it. There comes a time when, for every addition of knowledge, you forget something that you knew before. It is of the highest importance, therefore, not to have useless facts elbowing out the useful ones."
“But the Solar System—” Danill protested.
“What the deuce is it to me?” You interrupted impatiently: “you say that we go around the sun—If we went around the moon, it would still not make a penny worth of difference to me or to my work.”
With a simple push of your palm, you coaxed him back into his chair, to which Daniil immediately surrendered. Picking up the antique violin, you resume where you left off.
The sound of Eva's giggling at this interaction came soon after, as the familiar music of your instrument echoed through the Stillwaters.

yuuji's domain represents the nirvana
i made a little analysis about yuuji's domain in 265 and the way i think it represents the state of nirvana
1. the concept of nirvana
in buddhism, nirvana represents the ultimate stat of enlightenment, where one escapes from the cycle of life and death (samsara), and achieves the highest possible level of peace and freedom. in nirvana, one is liberated from suffering and negative emotions such as greed and hatred (take yuuji's hatred towards sukuna).
2. yuuji's domain
yuuji's domain is a non-combat domain. in fact, he mentions that he "doesn't even know what it is", and the mere reason he opened it was because he was desperate to talk to sukuna. the domain itself features various locations from yuuji's childhood - train station, park with a crawfish lake, farm. on one panel, we see horses - in buddhism, horses symbolise the journey towards spiritual liberation.
all of these locations have a sense of innocence and simplicity - a sharp contrast to sukuna's domain which is a hellscape, with a shrine as its only "landmark". there is a sense of tranquility and peace within yuuji's domain, as if a world without suffering exists.
3. yuuji's purpose
yuuji's purpose for opening his domain isn't to fight or kill. he simply wanted to talk to sukuna. his actions in this arc prove that he has no intentions to harm anybody - his first and foremost purpose is to protect people and he does so through any means necessary. his willingness to sacrifice himself for others and his pure heart, despite everything that happened to him, is what gives him his strength.
yuuji sharing his memories and experiences with sukuna is aligned with the buddhist practice of seeking understanding and enlightenment through introspection and dialogue, rather than conflict.
4. yuuji's perspective on life
yuuji rejects the notion that humans are mere tools with predetermined roles, explaining that even the simplest acts, like walking a dog or nurturing a family, hold intrinsic value. this perspective challenges sukuna's nihilism, emphasizing that every life, no matter how seemingly insignificant, has worth.
finding the joy in the smallest things - the joy that is often overlooked in the world, is a crucial aspect of nirvana, hence yuuji's focus on his past - the simplest moments of his childhood, which are full of joy and innocence.
5. buddha statue and kshitigarbha
yuuji's hand sign, a mudra symbolizing kshitigarbha, and the presence of the buddha statue we see in this chapter, are both an indicator of his enlightenment, as he is able to use a domain as a result of his awakening. the story of kshitigarbha ties in closely with the fact that yuuji offers sukuna a chance of salvation, if he releases megumi. this is an act of kindness, compassion and benevolence, in spite of sukuna's crimes, just like kshitigarbha offering a chance of enlightenment to all beings who were stuck in the depths of hell, as he saw value and worth in each of them.
6. the role of a person
when yuuji discusses the role of a sorcerer and rejects the notion of people being mere tools, the panels featuring the faces of those he respected and lost—wasuke, nanami, nobara, gojo, choso, and junpei—are a clear indication that yuuji, unlike sukuna, does not consider humans disposable and worthless. yuuji respects them, mourns them, and wants to make sure they are not forgotten.
these values are important in buddhism and are what makes a person worthy of nirvana: the willingness to accept the nature of things, the value of life, the importance of kindness and benevolence, and respect and care for others. basically, yuuji as a person embodies the core concepts of buddhism and its ultimate goal - nirvana.

People about Thomas
Tumblr media
Karl H*inz Rummenigge:
When I was once asked who I would have tattooed as a Bayern player, I spontaneously replied: <<The Herrgottschnitzers from Oberammergau, and that would be Thomas Müller>>. Thomas comes from the Munich area, has come through all the youth ranks, grew up here and speaks to the fans from the heart, both on and off the pitch. Fans love identifying figures like him. We have to be grateful to Louis van Gaal for having the courage to trust him, that's what we want from a coach: to demand and promote talent. Müller meets and continues to meet all the requirements we want. Besides, I always say that he is one of the cheapest players in history. He never gets injured, you don't need a backup for him, and to be honest: he doesn't have a replacement either, because the way he plays is unique.
In my eyes, Thomas is on a par with club icons such as Franz Beckenbauer or Gerd Müller; after all, it is no coincidence that FC Bayern celebrated the most successful decade in the club's history with him. Thomas will never have anything to reproach himself for at the end of his career: because he always brought out 100% of his talent. Thomas is not only carved out of very good wood in terms of character; authentic craftsmanship made in Bavaria. He is a Bavarian icon the likes of which will never be seen again.
Tumblr media
Manuel Neuer:
What makes Thomas special? He has the Bayern DNA inside him. He's a guy who always wants to win. I don't think I know of any player who is as ambitious as he is and who learns so much so quickly. No matter what style of play you put in front of him, he's able to do it in the blink of an eye. Thomas is simply a winner. You need players like that.
Thomas represents communication like nobody else. He keeps the guys on track by talking a lot on the pitch and thinking strategically, especially in terms of how we attack and defend together in attack. When we played without spectators during the coronavirus era, everyone in front of the TV realized how much Thomas communicates during a game. That was a very important factor, especially in the knockout games in Lisbon when we won the Champions League." In recent years, Thomas has also learned to listen more and more. He pays a lot of attention to others and accompanies them. He is very perceptive and knows how to respond well to his teammate.
Thomas is also synonymous with opportunism. He has a nose for the right areas and makes the right decisions. And he knows how to read the opposing goalkeeper. I always enjoy the challenges against him in training. Off the pitch, the two of us talk a lot about the things that are important at FC Bayern, the things that inspire us. He has his heart in his chest and always has his finger on the pulse. Thomas is very honest and straightforward. His Upper Bavarian mentality suits my Ruhr Valley mentality. Thomas represents an era at FC Bayern. We won the Champions League twice and eleven Bundesliga championships in a row. Without Thomas Müller, with his qualities as a player and his character, none of that would have been possible. That's why he has the highest status for me, not only at FC Bayern, but also with the German national team, with whom we became world champions together in 2014. There are hardly any players who come close to Thomas Müller.
Basically, I'm very happy to have played on a team with Thomas for so long. He always has a joke in his mouth and keeps everyone in a good mood. I think he's the player who has the most jokes memorized. He looks outlandish in some of the celebration photos and there are funny dances he does at title parties. I have many moments with him that I remember fondly, and I think there will be more in the future.
Tumblr media
Robert Lewandowski:
Thomas fascinated me as an attacking partner in many respects. Above all, he is a perfect all-rounder. He talks for most of the game and gives orders. But his directions never distracted him from finding the optimal free space. That's something I've only seen in him, he's totally committed to the team. And even though he talks so much, we understood each other without words in decisive moments, which is another thing I really appreciate about Thomas: just one look, one movement, and the other player knows exactly what's going to happen.
When I think of our relationship, two words come to mind: unique and honest. He is the kind of teammate anyone would wish to have, who is also happy for his teammates from the bottom of his heart. I still remember the incredible game in which I scored five goals in nine minutes against Wolfsburg. When the game was over, I hadn't even realized what had just happened. Thomas came up to me and said: "You've just achieved something unique, people will still be talking about it in 20 years' time. Please enjoy it and celebrate it." And then he pushed me towards the Südkurve fans.
Speaking of celebrations: he can also go all out and set the mood. We celebrated one of his birthdays together at <<H'ugo's>>, and the evening was certainly one of my favorite "Müller moments>>. I wish Thomas that his intelligence and knowledge will become the foundation of his favorite club when his career is over. Because I am sure: FC Bayern is Thomas Müller's future - and Thomas Müller is FC Bayern's future.

Hi, can you do Trickster and Ghostface with a flirty, teasing, biting, but asexual s/o?
I believe I can. I'm going to modify it a bit. I hope that's alright and that you enjoy.
With a Reader who Likes to Tease
Trickster and Ghostface
Trickster
Oh? You like to tease do you?
Very cute.
Ji-Woon doesn't find it irritating.
At first.
He thinks your constant attempts to get his attention are charming.
Adorable even.
Poking him.
Calling his name over and over.
Maybe even biting him.
Doesn't phase him.
He's used to it.
Ji-Woon gas delt with rabid fans before.
This is nothing compared to some of the things k-pop fans do.
You'll have to do something really drastic to get his attention.
Like moving things then, when he isn't looking, move it right back.
"My dear, have you seen my eye liner?"
"The bathroom? I just looked..."
"It's here... Huh..."
And that huh will slowly start turning into full on confusion.
Followed by anger.
Possibly by a temper tantrum.
Think of an idol who didn't get their green M&Ms.
Complete with screaming and foot stomping.
When he finds out it was you?
He might give you the cold shoulder for a while.
You'll have to be the one to apologize.
"Fine, don't do it again. Or I'll kill you, okay?"
He isn't joking, he will kill you.
But, hey, that's just the Ji-Woon charm.
And you wouldn't have him any other way.
Ghostface
Fancy yourself a tease huh?
Well, so is Danny.
Probably more so than you.
He's a huge asshole too.
Pulling pranks, hiding your things, annoying the ever living shit out of you?
Then, this jerk takes a picture of you when you're all upset and flustered.
So you're going to have to do something really really REALLY insane to annoy Danny.
You could try and steal his camera.
But that won't matter because the prick has several.
"Huh, I can't find my camera... Oh well, it'll turn up."
As he pulls another from his cloak.
Trying making fun of famous serial killers.
But don't do it outright and make it obvious.
Get the facts really wrong on purpose.
But, also, sound super confident.
That will send him over the edge.
Even with his mask on, you can tell he's losing his shit.
"No! H.H. Holmes wasn't a woman!"
"The person with the highest body count isn't some random person who killed two people!"
"And Kujo wasn't a fucking cat! He wasn't even real!"
Once he's all pissed, make sure you take a picture.
It's going to hit him all at once.
"Oh.... You're screwing with me, aren't you?"
"Alright alright, good one. You got me."
Oh, just so you know, Danny doesn't get mad.
He gets even.
So expect a shit load of pranks and other obnoxious shit to be heading your way.
And, you better counter back.
Because, believe it or not, he enjoys this.
The playful banter, the challenge to his ego.
He secretly craves that.
So, don't be afraid to give him a little push back.
Just, be prepared for it to be doubled.

Hello, I know this is gonna be an… odd and really, really embarrassing request. But I’ve heard this place is a great place to receive all kinds of advice, so I might as well ask. I’m an elf women from matuzu, and I completely despise my body type. I’m sure you’ve seen all the fashion shows & magazines to know what matuzu defines as beautiful right? Extra wide curves, big plump bellies, and overall extra curvaceous figures are all the rage over here. And as an elf I’m certain you can see what my issue is. How would an elf like me, you know, thicken up alittle? Or maybe a lot?
I’ve always been jealous of all the girls in the magazines here. Seeing all these gorgeous plus sized goddesses and wanting to be just like them my entire life, but unfortunately it seems the elven metabolism has cursed me to forever be skin and bones. I hate being so scrawny! I want to have the beautifully plump bodies of my idols yet no matter what I just can’t gain any weight! I’ve tried overeating countless times/ I’ve tried all those weight gain shakes and powders/ I’ve even wasted money once on some stupid scam potions (I’d rather not talk about it) yet nothings worked! I’m still this boney stick figure!
Is their any easy, sure fire way for elves to gain weight?. Is there some way to overpower, or maybe even trick the elven body into actually gaining weight naturally? I don’t have the money for transmutation procedures right now, but I’ve been saving up for one in case it might help. I don’t want to get too huge either, just grow plump enough to get some actual curves and gut those models have.
Every culture has its own standards of beauty, and unfortunately those standards aren't easy to meet for some species (in fact, it may not even be possible!)
I think there are two ways to go about this: You can struggle uphill to meet an unrealistic standard, or you can change your frame of mind to meet a more realistic standard.
The Matuzan standard of beauty doesn't really favor elves (I think historically, this is because elves are not native to the Midlands) but there are other cultures with beauty standards that favor what elves naturally have: tall lithe bodies, smooth skin, and androgynous appearance.
I recommend checking out some Seelie media, because this is a culture that heavily favors elves and celebrates their natural beauty. Seelie fashions accentuate taller, thinner bodies and the style is more unisexed. You could ruin your confidence by comparing yourself to the standards of a completely different species.
However, if you are totally determined to meet the Matuzan beauty ideal and you can't afford surgery or magical procedures, there are some things you can do to get closer to this look, even as an elf.
Gaining weight is very challenging for elves because elven bodies use magic very inefficiently, and magic use burns calories. Elves have passive magical abilities (like animal whispering) that burn calories whether they're casting spells or not. So, your main challenge will be storing more fat than you burn. You can do this by carefully planning your meals ahead of time, measuring the calories of each one, and choosing the highest-calorie foods you can (breads, pastas, and dairy are staples here)
Exercise is always a good thing, but you must refrain from casting spells whenever possible. You want your body to remain strong and healthy. Magic isn't necessarily required for this, but regular exercise is. For elves, even small spells burn tons of calories. If you must cast spells (such as for work), using a wand or staff will help you do so more efficiently than casting them from your bare hands.
Without transmutation procedures or surgery, an elf simply can't attain the same body type as other peoples, so temper your expectations. You will work very hard to achieve less-than-ideal results.
This is why I recommend changing your mindset instead, and focus on what you already have rather than what you don't! Good luck!

I have mixed feelings about Contingency Contract ending.
I love the idea of picking your own difficulty modifiers to build up a custom challenge, particularly for a puzzle-like gacha game like Arknights. It allows for different strategies and playstyles, and its incremental nature gives a natural path for evolving your strategy.
But the nature of combinatorics means you get fewer and fewer choices in the high-risk range, and almost none at max risk. And max risk isn't always possible — is that a good or a bad thing?
When CC debuted, we had one-third as many operators, and less than a quarter as many 6*s. With all those new options, should we expect more strategies to be viable at the top of top-difficulty content? Would we be right to? Who does that cater to?
Several CCs have seen the highest-risk strategies degenerate into fiddly stall loops. Who does that cater to?
Arknights has some funny edge cases whereby upgrading an operator actually cuts off certain strategies. Famously, pot4 Weedy loses the ability to stall golems, and Kafka is arguably best at E0. This doesn't matter if you have alternatives, but in high-end CC there may be no alternatives. Push the system to its limit and cracks start to show.
Really, this is a long way of saying that CC is janky. But some of it is the natural result of pushing things — players, difficulty, game systems — to their limit. So maybe it's not possible to make a cleanly polished alternative. Maybe "polished" means simple enough to be verifiably safe, or guardrailed enough to make sure players can't go exploring too far.
I can make peace with CC coming to an end; after all, nothing lasts forever. There are surely some things they can do to improve the experience, but I also worry they'll throw out the baby with the bathwater.
...and whatever comes next might not have such good music.

Note
passing you a microphone. infodump about something you like !!
:0!!!!!! Hi!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
My first thought was Super Mario Sunshine so let's go with that.
SMS aka the game that is such a mess but I adore it dearly. 2CPhoenix has an incredible 11 video part series going into extreme detail on every single level of SMS (both worlds and individual levels) and every single little detail they could possibly get their hand on in regarding the game itself.
Super Mario Sunshine is a bit of an inaccessible game. It demands you to get good at the platforming and its camera doesn't help you do that. It's a big vague in how you actually complete it, and its controls aren't immediately intuitive as any other in the series. Also many of the blue coin placements are stupid tbh. You can tell this game had a rushed development Like All The GameCube Era (Melee and Wind Waker also are Like That bc of this).
But once you get past the rough edges, you get one of the most incredible feeling games out there. The movement is fast and fluid, the level design practically begs you to play on every surface of the world's, and yes, the platforming can be difficult especially in the secret levels, but there's a satisfaction in completing these challenges. The blue coins can be stupid but it's so incredibly satisfying planning out routes to collect them as you go through the game. The discovery elements of SMS aren't a big draw for me, but as a collectathon, the blue coins are incredibly flawed but make each level more dynamic. Suddenly empty spaces that had little use are places where you need to platform carefully to get a blue coin. You're suddenly much more aware of the space itself as vehicles to platform on as well. (But why are some of the blue coins only available for certain levels like whhhhyyyyyyyyyy. You have to look up guides for this game you just gotta).
Also spin jump my beloved. They nerfed you so badly in later games but SMS spin jump is one of the most interesting tools they ever made in Mario. It's difficult to master and understand because inherently you have to have good control on the control stick to be able to accurately go the direction you want to go, and if you play for the first time, you're just gonna end up spinning in a random direction. But as a tool, it is your highest jump, with a slow descent so in the middle of the jump you can use it to combo into a hover, letting you gain a huge amount of height and distance simultaneously. It also has a lot of momentum so you can combo a spin jump into a dive to cover distances you otherwise can't over gaps. Every tool that Mario has is useful for SOMETHING. Dives, groundpounds, hover, spins, even sidles. I cannot emphasize enough just how well designed and fluid Mario's movement is in this game. Some folks say otherwise (mostly because it's a little uncanny going from SM64 tbh. Those two games feel just similiar enough for the skills from one to transfer to the other, but offbeat if that makes sense. Jumps a little different, no long jump in SMS, no wall slide in SM64, etc).
This is nothing on just how fun and expressive the world of SMS is. People usually go into it as a positive no matter if it's a criticism or praise video, so I won't go into here. But I adore the Piantas, the Noki, and just the whole landscape is gorgeous and fun to explore. It's such an interesting way to do level design. So much water centric worlds while none of them feel like a water level per say.
Also. The glitches. I need to talk about the glitches. I play with so many glitches and tbh it makes the game more fun. There are some truly stupid parts of the game, and there happen to be a lot of glitches that skip the worst ones. For example, you can skip the casino section entirely if you go above the curtain. You can just spin hover over and grab a piece of invisible geometry to jump over the invisible barrier to the secret level pipe. There's also a secret level where you're intended to take yoshi on what should be a ten minute journey across various boat rides and you can just... clip through a wall and jump across the ocean floor to get to the island instead. It's so good I love it.
This game has so much jank as a product of a rushed development. Some of the lack of polish is bad and some of it leads to interesting design choices that you wouldn't get in a cleaner development. There are glitches in this game that lead to sliding off platforms and not grabbing things you want to, and others that let you accidently cling to the ceiling of the world, store momentum from rockets to jump across the entire map, and skip through tedious elements from the rougher parts of the development.
SMS is one of those games that you have to know the quirks of it to love and even then, even in my irl friend group who are fighting/platformer nerds, it's devisive to say the least. But I've 100%'d this game 8 times in my life. It's my comfort game. I love it dearly.
I could go on but Ill leave it there!!! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to talk about my fave game ❤️❤️❤️

[1/3] HHNFLARTAS - the master trials
hell hath no fury like a rescue team association scorned not a fic or anything, i just ramble a lot about my pmd ocs in a digestible format that's more or less that kind of content. random yearly event for rescue teams. covers no more than like, one week of VV content
[ X / 2 / 3 ]
Tumblr media
the master trials
an annual event where the rescue team association (RTA) judge teams of a certain rank and higher. this judgement is made after teams are put through a series of challenges to make sure that the rescue teams are up to par and can perform their duties.
whilst many pass, it is also entirely possible for a team to fail the trials, subsequently getting demoted. in this case, teams may earn enough points to reach the entry rank again, though in order to be recognised as that rank, they must pass that year's trial. this is not a requirement unless you are re-entering the rank.
..
many high-ranking teams will be famous within good reason. one way to earn notoriety is to place well in the master trials -- but if a team comes in the top spot, chances are they'll already be known anyways, and be some of the highest possible ranks. there are outliers, though, but they're few and far between.
hundreds, if not thousands of teams will take part regionally. each continent has its own top 100 chart. it's fine to place below the top 100; this doesn't mean you're getting demoted, it's just a way to deter giving everybody a placement. many of those who make it into the bottom bracket of the ranks aren't cared for much, either, even if it's still an achievement.
the rescue team association
the RTA is like a board of directors within the rescue team profession. it is worth noting that this covers all forms of rescue team; if it operates under guild rules, it counts. rescues, exploration, discovery, all-rounders -- it's all under the "rescue team" umbrella. many on the RTA board are former high-rankers, but some less-than-savoury upperclassmons have had their says in their matters too.
regardless, many of the pokemon here are strongly revered in their fields. they oversee many of the trials in action, after a certain point within the master trials begin (they can't track the progress of every team).
in the final few stages of the master trials, they observe teams using rotom devices linked to familiar technology -- nothing entirely new. just rotom drones projected to a large connection orb, probably. developed technology still isn't that great.
..
the RTA are responsible for sending messages out across all guilds, whenever needed.
verdant village
verdant village is situated within the water continent, meaning that it's part of the master trials (water division). guildmaster rime doesn't actually have that many great teams registered under the guild itself; it's mostly just a place for other teams to hang out and get missions from, sometimes. and a lot of the actual teams are pretty low-ranking, because not a lot of heavy missions show up. that's really just because verdant village is a "new" location in comparison to most other guild origins, having only been founded within the past 50 years. it's still finding its roots, but they're growing.
there's a good few number of teams that can apply for the master trials, however. but the only ones that are really important right now are keith's team (keith/cacturne, mike/breloom, luwel/nuzleaf) and team pb&j (roadblock/garganacl, minecart/palossand). they're rival teams, but in a one-sided sense. PB&J is more of an inconvenience to keith's team.
..
keith's team, having been doing this job for at least 20 years under verdant's guild, have taken part in the master trials several times. team PB&J are fresher on the scene, but have participated in at least one previous trial. keith's team has barely cut into the top 100 within the water division a few times, though always in the lower bracket. they're the highest scorers in verdant village, though, which isn't really a surprise to anybody.
keith's team
keith's team - real team name, nonexistent, they've never had one - have been registered under verdant village since [the team's] creation. the team has existed since the trio were children, and continues to exist as each member is in their thirties (varying ages). despite their general additiude and demeanour, keith's team take their job as a rescue team very seriously -- which is precisely why keith is set to become the future guildmaster. in rime's words, despite what he shows, nobody cares about others quite like him.
the master trials go about as average as you'd expect. keith's team never fail the master's, but they're nothing to entirely write home about either. they're somewhere above average, but they're also not the most famous team in the continent. far from it. (they're recognised within the village, though, as each member is social in their own way). their teamwork and planning-ahead tends to be standout, but still nothing to make other guilds remember the name.
luwel usually prepares far in advance for the master trials, because he's fucked up and likes to make sure everything is right. this always works tremendously in the team's favour, because his tendency to overthink and over-worry allows for the team to solve problems they'd otherwise have no way of figuring out.
hell hath no fury like a rescue team association scorned (#1)
the master trials have begun. they're pretty far in, in fact. the top placements are already well under consideration -- they're going to really be put to the test. the whole point is to make sure that these teams are earning the right to be trusted, right?
higher-ranking teams (and lower-ranking ones of interest) will face further challenges. many teams have already passed the trials and can rest easy; they've nothing else to prove. they're just keeping their status, not needing to prove themselves or aim higher.
keith's team press on for the fun of it, and because they do truly believe that they have something to show. and they're not entirely wrong -- their teamwork and synergy is great, and they get along with eachother & understand eachother far greater than even some of the best.
but they're three grass types. and to some of the stuck-up oldies of the past at the RTA, that's a concern. they've got an incredibly glaring weakness that can make them a liability under certain circumstances. monotype teams can exist, yes, and there's no inherent problem with this, but you also can't just… allow a team like this to think that they can take on anything without acknowledging their faults.
..
they're going to a volcanic dungeon. it's a rescue, of course -- get deep enough into the caverns to find and save a pokemon, but prove yourself further by "completing" the dungeon. it's a deliberate set-up, of course; no team this far into the master's is going to be given the easy way out. the point is to prove yourself.
and it's… a journey. keith's team have survived volcanic endeavours before, but not often -- other teams are better suited for that. the master trials have thrown this at them before. it's always been enough for them to maintain their ranks. luwel's prepared enough, he thinks. keith's belief of if we don't save them, who will echoes in their minds. mike's just here, really. he's always been cautious about these dungeons. he's always worried about what could happen.

Monster High: Voltage! Chronicles 1:
The Birth of Frankie Stein
Summary: Monsters and “normies” (humans) have been sworn enemies for centuries, but a pair of mad scientists create a being who could possibly challenge the status quo.
(Figured I finally do something with this AU for Halloween)
On the darkest of humid summer nights, during an electrifying storm, a young human was wandering through a seedy graveyard with her tiny goblin companion. It's rare to see a human/monster pair roaming around. For millions of years, humans have antagonized monsters into hiding away from normal society. While the monsters’ fear of extermination has morphed into resentment and feral aggression. So to find a human being comfortable enough to go grave robbing in the middle of the night with a goblin is quite the surprising scenario.
The two slit up to scan through the many stones in the yard, the goblin slowly becoming more and more frustrated as they keep failing to find the one grave they need.
“Lucisha, we've been searching through this place for eons and you don't seem to be satisfied with any of our choices.” The human huffed. “Maybe we should focus on finding the right part after we bring them to life?”
The goblin stamps her foot in protest. “No! You know I can never leave a job half finished. It must be PERFECT!”
“But we're both soaking wet. At this rate, even if we do find that part, we'll be too sick to even put them together.”
The human suddenly gets a look on her face as if she remembers something. “Maybe we could use that prosthetic.”
“A piece of plastic junk? Are you serious?!”
“That's all we have. And it's not plastic. The metallic material will be the perfect  conductor of electricity. Isn't that good enough?”
The goblin's brows furrowed. True, a metal limb would help it retain energy, but it would hinder its walking capabilities. It would be all clumsy! However, it seemed to be their only option at that point. The storm could end at any moment, plus she was getting cold.
“Fine. Let's just get back before the storm clears.”
They ran back to their car as fast as two people carrying a sack of body parts and rusty shovels could. Though the human did trust her pale green partner, she knew better than to let her get behind the wheel. They sped down the open road back to their humble hideout, an old abandoned hospital, thankfully avoiding any potential law enforcement.
They drag their ill gotten materials to the smallest room at the end of the highest hallway. After setting up everything, they get to work. It took a lot of thread, blood, and drilling, but it was all worth it as their greatest creation slowly came together. Literally. As the human put the last few stitches on their arm, she began to think to herself about all of the potential shenanigans that they could both get up to.
Tumblr media
“Do you think that they would like baseball? I could see them being a star pitcher.”
“It doesn't matter what it's “into”, the goblin chuckles to herself “as long as it excels at whatever it does, I'll be satisfied.”
The human blankley rolled her eyes at that. As the goblin hooked up the cables to the bolts, the two looked into the half open eye, then back at each other. The goblin gave one last thumbs up, receiving a confident nod back. They put their protective goggles on and the goblin tightly gripped the lever as they waited for the moment.
One thunder strike… two thunder strikes… and… Now! The lightning flashed as the goblin flipped the switch, activating the lightning rods on the roof. The electricity crackled its way down to the generator and into the body. It was at high voltage. Too high voltage. It looked like it was going to explode!
And it did. A huge cloud of smoke blew out of the windows. Through the wheezing, the two looked up at the body. It didn't move. There was no pulse. Did it not work? The goblin leaned it closer to check for breathing, the two of them both holding their breath themselves. Suddenly, they heard a gasp. The heart rate monitor started beating.
“It's alive! Alive!” The goblin squeezed her partner in pure excitement as the human felt as if she would cry. The body began to move. The goblin shushed the human as they came to. They lazily opened their eyes, looking between the two. The goblin slowly took their hand in hers.
She spoke quietly and slowly. “Hello, I am Lucisha Stein. I am your mother. You are my child. I created you.” They stared for a second, then smiled.
“Mom!”
She had never felt so proud, their first word! They should have recorded this.
The human cleared her throat, wiped her own tears, and leaned in.
“Hi there. Uh, I guess I'm your other mom. I may be a human, but I don't want to hurt you. I hope you can love me as much as I have loved you from when we first found your heart.”
They once again stared for a second, it must take a little time for them to process information. They smile again.
“Mom! Two moms! I have two moms!”
They were already speaking full sentences. They had done it. Together, a human and a monster created the perfect being. It took months, lots of blood, and even more arguing, but it was worth it.
Tumblr media
“Wait…” They paused for a second. “Who am I? What's my name?”
Crap. The goblin had been so focused on making this being exactly how she wanted, she forgot to come up with a name. Good thing that the human was there.
“Franklin, After my brother. We'll call you Frankie for short.”  Frankie. They like that name.
“My name is Frankie!”
Tumblr media
To be continued…

# The Power of Focused Action: Awakening Your Personal Greatness
In the quiet moments of self-reflection, we often glimpse our true potential—a vision of who we could become if we dared to fully express our gifts. Yet the gap between vision and reality isn't crossed through contemplation alone; it requires the deliberate marriage of focus and action.
Your greatness isn't some distant possibility—it's a dormant force waiting for your permission to emerge. The question isn't whether you possess extraordinary capabilities, but rather what keeps them confined. Often, it's the scattered attention and delayed action that traps our potential in an endless cycle of "someday."
Focus is the art of saying no to the trivial many so you can say yes to the vital few. It means directing your full attention toward what genuinely matters, allowing your energy to flow uninterrupted toward your highest aspirations. When you focus, the noise fades and clarity emerges—revealing not just what to do, but why it matters deeply to you.
But focus without action is merely wishful thinking. Massive action—bold, immediate, and persistent—is what transforms intentions into reality. It doesn't wait for perfect conditions or complete certainty. It begins now, today, with whatever resources you currently have. This courage to act before you feel ready is what separates those who achieve greatness from those who merely dream about it.
The spiritual resilience that sustains this journey comes from recognizing that setbacks aren't punishments but redirections. Each obstacle encountered isn't evidence of your limitations but an invitation to develop new strengths. This perspective transforms challenges from reasons to retreat into opportunities to recommit with even greater resolve.
Your greatness isn't measured by comparison to others but by your willingness to become more fully yourself. It emerges when you align your daily actions with your deepest values, when you pursue not what impresses others but what genuinely expresses your authentic self.
The time for hesitation has passed. Your moment is now. Focus your mind, take that first decisive action, and watch as the universe responds to your commitment with unexpected support. Your greatness awaits not your discovery, but your decision to live from it today.

I am so sorry to everyone who has messaged me asking for help with their various campaigns. However, I am unable to keep up with the vast amount of messages and asks that have been sent to me and continue to pop up with more and more people in the same situations.
I do not have money. Even if I did, I would not be able to fund every single campaign that asked for my help, even if that donation was as little as $5. I am disabled, unable to drive, and I do not work.
This is not to say that I am not privileged. I am. I am white and American. I live in a home where I do not have to worry about if I would be able to wake up in the morning. However, my reality has changed overnight after the presidential election.
Despite using my voice so that others can be heard, sharing as many campaigns and links as possible, speaking out against hatred and bigotry, I am far from safe. My friends and family are far from safe. And I have to put that at the highest priority right now. My own safety is challenged every moment underneath this government that I do not agree with.
I am both trans and visibly queer, as well as autistic. This puts me at a disadvantage to the bigotry and violence that will inevitably spark from this election. People will die. And I can only hope that it is not people that I know. I can only hope that it is not me.
That does not mean that I do not care about every life that is lost to us, wherever that life may have been on the globe. I have friends in many countries, have connected with people over oceans and land, and have loved people who I will never meet. Every light that is snuffed out, I feel within my soul.
But I am only one man. I cannot save the world. No matter how much I wish I could. No matter how many people I love.
I can only do my best to protect those around me. But even then, I may fail.
And for that, I am sorry.
May the world recover soon enough for you all to know peace.
Thank you.
Some links to make a difference:
Edit: obviously this doesn't mean that I am giving up. I'm not. I will still be doing my best to support everyone else as much as I can. Because while the world has gone to shit, we all need as much support as possible.
