Paul Tully highlights the significance of making a good difference in one's own neighborhood by taking tiny, meaningful activities. He thinks genuine change begins locally, with individuals taking the initiative to do good for the people and animals in their communities. Paul's approach is straightforward: every day is an opportunity to make a difference, whether it's providing a blanket to someone in need or ensuring a lost animal returns home. He believes that this hands-on, community-driven methodology is an effective way to contribute to societal change while also serving as an inspiration to others.
Instead of focusing on global concerns, Paul encourages people to look about and aid individuals in their communities. He contends that while it is not always realistic to consider how to solve issues in other nations, everyone has the ability to enhance their own local environment. His worldview is based on the idea that tiny, daily acts of kindness may cause a greater ripple of change. These little efforts, replicated across communities, can result in a positive global impact, making this approach both motivating and successful.
Paul's approach emphasizes human responsibility in influencing change. He promotes the concept that everyone may accept responsibility for their actions and contribute to the advancement of society in their unique way. This inspiring worldview fosters a sense of empowerment, implying that even the most basic activities, such as assisting a neighbor or caring for an animal, are worthwhile and significant in the grand scheme of things. The cumulative influence of numerous people performing good actions has the ability to reshape communities and encourage others to pursue a path of compassion.
In essence, Paul believes in the potential of ordinary actions to create a more compassionate, connected society. Individuals may significantly improve the lives of others around them by concentrating on local concerns and taking direct action. His practical, grounded approach to change emphasizes the value of being present in one's local community and the power of tiny, purposeful acts of compassion. Paul advocates for a shift in focus from global concerns to local activities to promote greater social change, providing an inspirational and motivating view on making a difference.

Girl Talk: How To Properly Hold Someone Accountable.

“You know that I love you, that’s with a passion but I’ll hold you accountable for your actions”
— ‘Accountable’ by BLXST
☕️ Let’s Have a Girl Talk:
In a society that often perpetuates toxic behaviors and fosters a culture of disrespect, it is crucial to explore alternative approaches to accountability. The Black Feminine Society embraces the idea that we can hold individuals accountable with love, genuine respect, and compassion, without resorting to demeaning and disrespectful tactics.
By confronting issues with a solution-oriented mindset and fostering progressive conversations, we can pave the way for positive change and growth.
This blog post delves into the power of accountability, the role of love and respect, and the importance of proactive engagement.
Accountability, by definition, involves acknowledging our mistakes, taking responsibility for our actions, and making amends where necessary.
The Power of Accountability:
Accountability is a fundamental aspect of personal and societal growth. It involves taking responsibility for one's actions, acknowledging the consequences, and actively working towards healing and restoration. Within the Black Feminine Society, accountability is approached as an empowering tool that encourages individuals to reflect, learn, and evolve. By holding ourselves and others accountable, we create opportunities for personal development and collective progress.
The truth is, genuine accountability is rooted in love, respect, and compassion. It is about holding our sisters accountable without demeaning them, without disrespecting them, but instead, acknowledging their potential for growth.
Tough love is not about harshness or severity. It's about transparency and honesty, delivered with good intentions and from the heart. It's about acknowledging the issue at hand and addressing it directly but kindly. It's about making the other person understand that they are loved and respected, even when they are being held accountable.
However, the reality is that holding someone accountable can often be challenging and uncomfortable. It becomes even more complicated when we want to ensure that the process is filled with respect and compassion, instead of negativity.
•
•
So, what actions can we take to encourage compassionate accountability in our society?
🩷 Understanding & Empathy:
Recognize the individual's experiences and feelings and validate them. By doing this, you're telling them that their perspective matters, and you're willing to walk alongside them on their journey to improvement.
👄 Speak from Love, Not Anger:
It's crucial to communicate from a place of love and genuine concern, rather than anger or frustration. This doesn't mean you shouldn't express your feelings; it just means you should do so in a way that doesn't belittle or disrespect the other person.
🩷 Focus on the Issue, Not the Person:
When holding someone accountable, concentrate on the behavior or action that needs addressing, not the individual. This approach ensures the person doesn't feel personally attacked, facilitating a more open and productive conversation.
✨Propose a Solution:
Confronting someone about an issue is the first step, but it's equally vital to present a solution, plan, or support. This positive action sets the tone for a progressive conversation and shows that you're invested in resolving the issue together, not merely pointing out faults.
🩷 Give Them Space:
After the confrontation, give the person some time and space to process the information. It's important to respect their need for reflection.

But the most insidious source of the anti-trans movement in this country is, quite simply, liberals. Butler, in their survey of the political landscape, misses the liberal faction altogether. I suspect this is because the anti-trans liberal sees himself as a concerned citizen, not an ideologue. He is neither radical nor a feminist; he is not so much trans-exclusionary as he is broadly skeptical of all social-justice movements. He is a trans- agnostic reactionary liberal - a TARL. The TARL's primary concern, to hear him tell it, lies in protecting free speech and civil society from the illiberal forces of the woke left, which, by forcing the orthodoxy of gender down the public's throat and viciously attacking anyone who dares to ask questions, is trafficking in censorship, intimidation, and quasi-religious fanaticism. On trans people themselves, the TARL claims to take no position other than to voice his general empathy for anyone suffering from psychological distress or civil-rights violations.
(...)
Now, to be clear, the TARL will typically acknowledge the existence of a group of fully developed adults whose medically verified gender dysphoria is so persistent and distressing that the argument for compassionate care outweighs the Hippocratic prohibition on harming a perfectly healthy body. The basic strategy here is to create a kind of intake form with exactly two boxes on it. Every trans-identified person is either a participant in a craze or certifiably crazy. (Checking both boxes is permitted.) There is a touch of genius to this approach. It draws a bright line between the kids who say they are trans and the kids who really are while pathologizing all of them as either delusional or dysphoric. This line is as old as gender medicine itself, which for decades was careful to distinguish impersonators and fetishists from the "true transsexual." So in most cases of gender variance, the TARL informs parents that it is perfectly healthy for boys to wear dresses and for girls to climb trees regardless of their biological sex, which need not be altered after all. He reassures them that the risk of suicide among trans-identified youth has been inflated by cynical activists trying to blackmail the public; what he means by this is that he does not think most kids are suicidal enough to be trans. In those rare instances of true misery, he advises the practice of "watchful waiting," preferring to see the patient through the often- irreversible changes of puberty to adulthood, when her childhood experience of gender incongruence will finally acquire the weight of medical evidence. If only she had said something sooner!

A Speculative Analysis: Tsukasa Shishio and the Omegaverse Theory in Dr. Stone
Disclaimer: This essay is a speculative analysis based on my theory of "Omega Tsukasa." It is not canonically confirmed by the series.

Starting from early on, Tsukasa developed a strong need of protection, especially towards his little sister. He started training more and ignoring his own features just gaining strength and earning a living for her. He grew up in a house with no affection and care which showed him he needs to work himself.
By working out so frequently he presented rather late as an Omega and for some reason his scent was weaker than most scents. Now. Hear me out!! an omega facing backlash because they want to be strong???

Tsukasa’s desire to reshape society can be viewed through the lens of an Omega challenging the status quo. In many Omegaverse stories, Omegas strive to change societal perceptions and fight for equality, which mirrors Tsukasa’s revolutionary goals- and him growing up in poverty and facing harsh treatment because of his secondary Gender - MAKES SENSE RIGHT?
So he took inhubators and med which lead to his heats being weak and almost non present.

https://www.wattpad.com/549450409-the-unofficial-guide-to-the-omegaverse-medications
Fast forward to present time- TSUKASA WAS REVIVED now hear me out on that
He was revived and because of the years passing and waking up without Inhubators he literally was in a constant state of rehabilitation
Wich- now listen to me explains his exhaustion/soft eyes on most pictures.
He is still strong but he is determined to hide his secondary gender

1. Protective Instincts: Tsukasa has a strong protective instinct, especially towards the young and innocent, whom he wishes to save from the corruption of the old world. Omegas are often depicted as nurturing and protective, though traditionally in a more domestic sense. Tsukasa’s desire to create a better world for the younger generation aligns with this nurturing characteristic.
2. Emotional Depth and Compassion: Despite his often ruthless methods, Tsukasa exhibits emotional depth and compassion, particularly towards his sister, Mirai. Omegas in the Omegaverse are frequently portrayed as more in tune with their emotions and compassionate, even if they are strong and capable.
3. Inner Conflict and Vulnerability: Tsukasa’s character is marked by inner conflict and a sense of vulnerability concerning his ideals and the methods he employs. This vulnerability could be likened to the traditional portrayal of Omegas, who often face societal challenges and personal struggles related to their status and instincts.

While Tsukasa’s eyes can be intense and determined, they also convey a sense of gentleness and kindness, especially in moments of compassion or when he is interacting with those he cares about. This duality in his expression can enhance the complexity of his character as an Omega who possesses both strength and vulnerability.
He aswell posesses a nurturing body, build for literally carrying kids Idgaf.
While Alphas are often protective, Tsukasa's motivation stems from a desire to nurture and protect the innocent, especially the younger generation, which is a trait more commonly associated with Omegas

Also Tsukasa's vulnerability also manifests in his interactions with others. While he projects an image of unwavering strength, his close relationships reveal a softer, more sensitive side. This duality enhances his character, showing that true strength encompasses both physical power and emotional resilience. His ability to acknowledge and navigate his vulnerabilities makes him a more relatable and human figure, even within the extraordinary circumstances of the Omegaverse. Also he isn't agressive managing to hold his temper,
An ALPHA in RUT would lash out more especially with the need to breed their mate while Tsukasa managas to suffer silently.

He also has a deep connection with his little sister making it clear that he indeed sees her as his own kid. It hurt Tsukasa himself that he murdered the people that revived him aswell. He kept his act in order to protect his people and mirai who stillwl was petrified. This level of care and commitment to ensuring her safety and well-being aligns with the traditional Omega role of a caring for loved ones. His actions demonstrate a profound emotional bond and a desire to protect kids, a trait often emphasized in Omegas.

The fact that he barley won against Hyoga was simply because he was reaching his heat, which at the end when they won took a toll on him. Senku knows his secondary Gender because of course it's rare (he is a beta).
The severe toll on Tsukasa after the battle could be a direct result of him suppressing or managing his heat to continue fighting. The exhaustion and physical drain post-battle illustrate the immense strain his body was under, further emphasizing the challenges Omegas face in such high-stress situations.

Also his looks...have you seen his eyes??? Please

Breaking the Class Ceiling Chapter 6
This is set in early 1900s U.S.A., during the Edwardian era with some style changes into the upcoming Art Nouveau period. I've changed history a bit for this. Pretending that America didn't have a full Civil War and trying to create a more optimistic outcome for the purposes of the story. I've also tried to research what the rules for society/socializing were back then, and tweaked some of them.
Warnings for upcoming chapters: minor character death, some sexual harassment/assault (but nothing too graphic or traumatic), smut
Previous chapter Next chapter

Upon your return to Brooklyn you had immediately gone to Bucky’s house to announce your engagement to George. When he saw your hands adorned with the rings he clapped his hands and whooped triumphantly.
“May I see, my dear?” He asked, gesturing towards your hand holding his late wife’s ring. You held it out to him and he took it gingerly, examining how it looked on your finger. After a moment he looked back up at you with tears in his eyes and a wide smile. “You wear it proudly, dear. A beautiful ring for a beautiful, kind, and admirable woman, just like my Winnie,” he praised you, his other hand giving your hand a squeeze and a pat. You smiled softly at the mention of her, feeling blessed to be a part of this small but wonderful family. You reached a hand out and cupped his face.
“Thank you for raising a wonderful man that I get the privilege to soon call my husband,” you said appreciatively. You then held his hands in yours and kissed the top of his knuckles. Bucky looked on in admiration at your compassionate treatment of his father.
“Oh no, thank you my dear, for taking him off my hands!” George joked, a hearty laugh escaping him before he could finish speaking. You both laughed with him, Bucky hanging his head and rubbing his eyes. The laugh George let out quickly turned into a coughing fit. He dropped your hands and grabbed his handkerchief from his breast pocket, quickly bringing it to his mouth.
”Papa, are you alright?” Bucky came up and clapped a hand on his back, trying to help rid him of the cough. “That’s a bad cough.” You watched on in concern. As the coughing started to subside and George’s eyes were watering from the force of the cough, he tried to hide his handkerchief after wiping his mouth but wasn’t fast enough before Bucky’s eyes caught sight of red in the white napkin. He stared at it then looked at his father, his eyebrows stitched together. Your eyes were wide and fearful as you stared at him.
George sighed at the looks on your faces. “I’m sorry son, I should have told you but I didn’t want to make a fuss. It’s not just a cough, I’ve had it for a while. The doctor says it’s cancer.”
***
You had moved George and Bucky into your mansion immediately after that day. You employed multiple doctors to get second, third and fourth opinions. But they all came back the same. Some type of cancer was attacking his body, and there was nothing to be done.
With no good prognosis and no promise of tomorrow for George, you and Bucky quickly planned your wedding so George could be there to see it. Within a few weeks you had a small guest list of close friends of yours and Bucky’s over to the mansion on a cool Autumn day. You had the greenhouse decorated with flowers and lights and candles, some plants rearranged into an alcove for you and Bucky to stand in as a clergy read the vows for the ceremony.
George was sitting in front in the finest garb you could buy for him, now in a wheelchair as his strength steadily diminished each day. Amir sat with him, having become fast friends, with Steve and Peggy and the other couples from the St. Louis trip. The ceremony was short but emotional with not a dry eye present.
You decided to wear the same outfits you had gotten engaged in since they meant so much to you both. As the rings were placed, the vows made, and the marriage officially announced, Bucky enthusiastically dipped you as he kissed you, making the attendees laugh and cheer. The reception afterwards was filled with laughter and joy, everyone sharing stories and experiences and gifts to the new couple. You finally gave Bucky and George the painting replica of the photograph of Bucky’s mother. Bucky and George cried heavily when you presented it to them, and even harder when they found out the painter you commissioned to do it was Steve, who cried with them as they all exchanged hugs.
As the small band you hired started to play everyone danced with each other, very rarely splitting off into couples but rather everyone staying in a circle enjoying everyone’s company. At one point George stood with Amir and Bucky supporting him on either side so he could dance with you. After a long night the friends and family went home and you, Bucky, George and Amir were left resting in the chairs left in the greenhouse as the sun set and the candles and lights became the main source of light.
“What a fantastic day,” George sighed, a soft smile on his face. You smiled back at him, reaching a hand out and holding one of his in his lap. Bucky couldn’t seem to stop crying all day. It was the best and worst day of his life. He was starting a new life whilst losing his last parent. “The best day. A wonderful party, dear,” George squeezed your fingers.
”Thank you, Papa,” you had started calling him the nickname recently, reveling in some sort of father figure for the time you had left with him. “I’m happy you were here to enjoy it with us.”
“Me, too,” he sniffled, patting your hand again.
As everyone retired to their rooms, you gave George a long hug before Bucky took a turn.
”Congratulations my boy,” George said quietly. “You take care of each other. I wish you both a long and healthy and happy life together.”
”Thank you Papa,” Bucky said, trying not to let his voice wobble.
As a hospice nurse you hired helped get George ready for bed, you and Bucky headed up to what was now your shared bedroom. All of his things had been moved from a guest room to the shared room during the day, and he was looking forward to a good night’s sleep, but suddenly remembered it was his wedding night. He could finally have you fully as of today. And as much as he wanted to, his mind and body were weary.
”What is it, my darling? You look troubled?” You asked him as you changed into your bed clothes.
Bucky shamefully looked away from you, preoccupying his hands with his bed clothes as he stripped from his suit and changed in front of you. “I uh, I know tonight is our wedding night, and that means we can now be together—”
”But you’re exhausted?” You interrupted, giving him a knowing smirk. Bucky huffed out a laugh, nodding his head. “It’s alright, we don’t have to do anything tonight. I’m exhausted, too. There's no rush, love,” you reassured him, laying yourself in bed, gathering the covers over your shoulders.
“Are you sure, doll? I’m sorry, it’s been a wonderful day, the best of my life,” he rambled as he got himself into bed with you. “And yet it’s been one of the hardest days, as well. Other than when my mother passed. I just…” he tapered off, facing you and reaching for your hand under the covers. You took it and squeezed it firmly. “How do you cope with this grief? Losing both parents? Your whole family? When he’s gone, then what?” He started to cry again, his lips quivering and tears stinging his already worn out eyes.
“I’m not sure I survived it, Buck, not fully. I came out of it eventually, but it took a long while. And I was a different person. You just learn to live with a new normal that feels completely abnormal and wrong. There’s no other way through it, than through it,” you answered honestly. “But I didn’t have someone there to help me. I’ll be here for you, darling, to help you, hold you, talk with you, and love you through it.” You opened your arms to him then, and he quickly snuggled in close to you, resting his head on your chest, his arms wrapping around your middle and legs entangling with yours as he sighed. He placed a soft kiss to your breast where your heart lay beneath.
”I love you, Y/N,” he whispered.
”I love you, Bucky.”

Good Morning World Daily Devotionals for November 25, 2024 Proverbs: God's Wisdom for Daily Living
Devotional Scripture:
Proverbs 28:27-28 (KJV): 27 He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse. 28 When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase. Proverbs 28:27-28 (AMP): 27 He who gives to the poor will not want, but he who hides his eyes (from their want) will have many a curse. 28 When the wicked rise (to power), men hide themselves; but when they perish, the (consistently) righteous increase and become many.
Thought for the Day
Verse 27 - This verse clearly says that those who minister to the poor will not be in lack. Who are the poor that this scripture is talking about? Certainly, it is not referring to the lazy, as the scripture already talks about how to deal with that problem. The poor are those who are disadvantaged through troubles and circumstances beyond their control. Good examples would be neglected children, helpless people, displaced people, exploited people, victims of tragedies and natural disasters, those who have lost their jobs, the handicapped, those who live in an area of famine, etc. One of the things the Lord desires for His people to possess is a compassionate heart because that is the kind of heart that He has.
"If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother: But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth...For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land" (Deuteronomy 15:7-8,11).
One who graciously and generously gives of his own bread (or goods) to the poor, is the kind of person who will always be blessed. Paul encouraged people to support the weak and give to the poor. He both gave and received from others, as he was a minister of God, yet he said it was more blessed to give than to receive. "I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel. Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me. I have shewed you all things, how that so laboring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:33-35).
Verse 28 - We saw the negative effects that wicked men coming to leadership have upon a country in Day 321. However, the opposite is true when the wicked perish and righteous men rule. It creates an environment in which righteousness multiplies. Righteous people will stand up and voice their concerns; they generate and support projects that create a healthy society. Righteous leadership has a positive influence on all of society. When there is an increase of good people in the land, the whole land is blessed because of it.
Prayer Devotional for the Day
Dear heavenly Father, we are grateful that You have shown us Your compassion many times over the years. Lord, may we become like You and show that same attribute to others, and especially the poor. Lord, bless us so that we may bless others who are needy. May we never turn our faces away from those who are seeking help. Lord, if we are unable to give in a monetary way, may we always remember we can always give of our time and prayers. Deliver us from fear and insecurity that would keep us from being generous. May we always be a cheerful giver. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen. 11/24/2024 3:25:00 PM. From: Steven P. First Minister John Swinney has said he will not support a bill which would allow assisted dying in Scotland.
Legislation to allow terminally-ill people to take their own life is being put forward at the Scottish Parliament by the Liberal Democrat MSP Liam McArthur and will be voted on by MSPs on 13 May.
If the bill passes it would allow a patient to request medical assistance to end their life, but only if they had a terminal illness and had been ruled mentally fit to make the decision by two doctors.
A Holyrood committee which is scrutinising the legislation has said members should vote at the first stage of the process as a "matter of conscience".
It is thought Swinney's decision to vote against the bill may sway some undecided MSPs, particularly in his own party.
The first minister told BBC Scotland News: "I've come to the conclusion that I can't support it (the legislation) because I'm worried that it would fundamentally change the relationships between patients and clinicians.
"I'm worried that some of the vulnerable in our society might feel that they are a burden and that they may therefore opt or feel under pressure to end their life prematurely."
The first minister said his religious faith was a factor and that he had "agonised" over his decision in a way that he did not on two previous assisted dying bills because he considered those to be bad law.
"I can't separate myself from my own judgements," he said.
"I'm a man of faith. I believe that we are all individually and equally created in the likeness of God.
"I also have my family perspective on this – my wife has a terminal condition and that is something we live with. I can't for a moment suggest that these real factors have had no impact on the decision I've made."
The stage one vote next week will be the third time in the Scottish Parliament's history that a vote will be held on this issue.
In 2010, the End of Life Assistance (Scotland) Bill failed, followed by an attempt in 2014 with the Assisted Suicide (Scotland) Bill.
The terminology may have changed, but the principle is much the same.
MPs in England and Wales voted in favour of a bill to allow assisted dying last year, by 330 votes to 275.
Like the UK parliament vote, Swinney said the Scottish government would not stand in the way of the legislation and that SNP MSPs would have a free vote.
The first minister said in October last year that he had "not come to a final view" on the issue but added that the initial proposed age threshold of 16 was "a very significant issue" in his mind.
Liam McArthur has since said he would raise the minimum age in the proposed legislation from 16 to 18.
The Lib Dem MSP said he had considered the matter "very carefully" and the change was in line with legislation in the US, Australia and New Zealand.
He has urged MSPs to vote in favour of the bill and help create "the most compassionate, safe and suitable law for Scotland".
The first minister has praised McArthur's efforts to produce "a more considered proposal" this time.
But Swinney added: "I'm concerned that we don't have a guarantee that the legislation could essentially extend in scope beyond the decision in principle.
"I have agonised about this issue. I have been struck powerfully by the representations that constituents have made to me and others who have experienced a great deal of suffering amongst their loved ones.
"They wanted me to vote for this legislation and I'm sorry that I can't do what they want me to do. But I feel it's wrongly principled to go down this route and that's why I'll vote against it on Tuesday."
McArthur still believes there could be sufficient support at Holyrood for it to be approved in principle - though this is starting to look far from certain.
He said given Swinney's position on the issue in the past, he thought he was "unlikely" to win his support.
McArthur added: "Nevertheless, I would like to thank [the first minister] for his considered approach, the time he has taken to discuss the issue with me and his recognition that in this vote he does not speak for his party but solely on a personal basis."
'Divisive issue'
The Scottish bill has proved divisive, and is opposed by the Catholic Church in Scotland and the Scottish Association of Mosques.
Politicians including former First Minister Humza Yousaf and Labour MSP Pam Duncan-Glancy have also indicated they would vote against it.
The Church of Scotland is "partially opposed" to the legislation becoming law, but says its official position is currently under review.
Ally Thomson, the director of the Dignity in Dying Scotland pressure group, said she was "disappointed" with John Swinney's decision not back the bill but she appreciated that he "took the time to speak with dying people who are desperate for this choice".
She added: "The sad truth is that if MSPs were to vote against extending safe and compassionate choice to dying Scots many more terminally ill people will suffer and the harm created by the blanket ban on assisted dying will persist.
"Doing nothing is the worst thing Parliament can do here."
Alisdair Hungerford-Morgan, the CEO of the charity Right To Life UK previously said despite the age change the legislation "remains riddled with irredeemable flaws and inadequate safeguards", claiming terminal illness is "defined worryingly loosely".
Holyrood's health committee, which is scrutinising the legislation, has highlighted a number of areas it said required further consideration should the bill progress to stage two.
These include the provision and quality of palliative care, how to ensure the mental capacity of patients opting for assistance to die and the possibility of healthcare professionals being able to "opt-in" to the practice.

Annoyed. This should not be a thing. Especially in light of recent overseas events. It shouldn't be a thing full stop. I am annoyed.
Often, not every time, but often, specific teacher uses automatic groupings based on limited gender boy/girl binary language. For example:
"Okay I'm going to split you up into two groups, boys and girls."
Has also used numbering 1 and 2, but observedly (by me, maybe different with other perspectives) not as often.
Is not the only teacher to do this, two others also do this, but I've had less recent experience with them to confirm the patterns continuation (of which had previously been observed).
Subconsciously and from foundational levels, students are more often encouraged to group by the limited gender choice options, typically boy/girl, which have no real function in the lesson or directive being given. Continually doing so doesn't promote the school value of inclusivity (from my understanding inclusivity is those of varied/alternative identities/perspectives/lived experiences).
It's, easy, lazy, uncreative and (perhaps to just my view as a person with fluid personal identity markers) disingenuous to perceived site efforts in promoting inclusivity values in day to day learning and operations.
It's a little frustrating to see these examples of ignorance continuing in our modern times, that in the moment of being "sorted" in this way, a kid who is still developing their self identity (who may be trans, genderfluid or non binary, or other etc) may not be considered, may feel confused, disoriented or dysphoric, but not realise why (yet). I mention this concern from lived experience of having been that kid. It added to the piles of overwhelm, mentally speaking. It's somehow worse to think of a student who is aware but isn't comfortable to mention/feeling safe enough/aware of how to communicate how this affects their day to day life and self confidence. We know for a fact that their reading and writing and social skill development is forever growing and changing as they move through the years of academia, why are their personal markers and characteristics so easily considered to be not worth the benefit of the doubt and also given room to learn, discover new information and practice applying it, and grow and change in these ways, along with interests and skills in numeracy and the arts?
Either do away with the assumed gender assignment in class (of which may accidentally "out" someone before they're ready) unless it directly relates to needed/necessary learning for that/those students, and use a different strategy for sorting students, or be mindful of creating diverse identity language groupings that reflect society as a whole. To continue using a binary falls in similar vein with the "ease" of sorting so by skin colour, social class, or perceived intelligence quotients, all of which are outdated and historically problematic in the terms and goals of social cohesion. Compassionate teachers understand the needs of diverse and inclusive language within the classroom environment. For some students it is the only other social environment apart from the home/family unit that they are a part of, will be a part of for the first decade of their life, and many are already subject to the boxes and labels used in the home environment, and heavily influenced by the social parameters they are, through no fault of their own, born and raised into, be that culture, religion, socio economic class, or family ideology. Learning promotes freedom, schools should adopt diverse language in all facets so as to not inadvertently limit when we are trying to broaden and teach. This is how we do lived day to day gender affirming care, by doing away with assumptions and replacing them with the potential in opportunities granted for growth, understanding and acceptance.
We have students that have shown to be self identifying with various pronouns, some with she/they, some with they/them, for whatever reasons they have to be doing so. Reasons which are respectively private, until they feel the need or want to provide reason, clarification or understanding, voluntarily, in any social sphere. They are valid at every stage, and shouldn't have the added cognitive load of feeling stuck into a box that is uncomfortable or feel confused/unsure for the sake of "ease". Being mindful of language is how we promote inclusivity and diverse living experiences. To those that don't think twice about it/are confident and comfortable in their current gender assignment/presentation/perception, it likely won't matter which type of group sorting happens. It's the ones that do that I'm mindful of. Especially at school where they are, ideally, in an environment that promotes questioning and discovery, whether self or otherwise. If school is a safe place for all, we need the language used day to day to reflect that. If gender is not to be made a focus in the primary years, but rather general ability, why casually assume and then publically box in the potential emergent understanding of student's personal identity using an outdated (and vastly inaccurate) binary system? Words fucking matter.
Where would you have liked me to sit, teachers? On the "boy" side or the "girl" side? Which one was "easier", for you? I'm a genderfluid person who flows through various pronouns and femme/masc presentations within a week's span, but by default go by they/them, to already make it easier for you.
Today, in that classroom, that was not easy for me, the idea of choosing a marker that was only one inflexible part of who I am (which is he/she/they on a spectrum of presentation and flux) made me want to sit in the middle of the room and challenge the teacher and his ignorance, whether accidental or not. But that would not have been conducive to the lesson. As such, I was not asked to make any choice, but here I am still writing about it because it bothered me enough. Today it added to my mental load, of which was balanced until that point, but at least I know why and I can "do" something about it. (Rant until I feel better)
What chance does a kid have in figuring that out though, on top of just being a kid, when the world is already often confusing enough?

A Nation on the Brink: The Looming Threat of a UK General Strike
The spectre of a general strike has once again begun to haunt the United Kingdom. This drastic measure, where workers across multiple industries simultaneously down tools, has a storied history, both in Britain and across Europe.
One of the most significant general strikes in British history was the 1926 General Strike. Sparked by a dispute over miners' wages and working conditions, millions of workers walked out, bringing the nation to a standstill. Though ultimately unsuccessful, the strike left a lasting impact on British labour relations.
Another pivotal moment in British labour history was the miners' strike of the 1980s. Led by the National Union of Mineworkers, this prolonged industrial action challenged the Thatcher government's economic policies and social reforms. While not a full-scale general strike, it severely disrupted the nation's energy supply and pitted communities against each other.
Europe has also witnessed its share of general strikes. In France, for instance, strikes have been a powerful tool for workers to protest against government policies and economic hardships. From the 1968 student and worker protests to more recent actions by public sector workers, French society has often been shaped by periods of industrial action.
The Modern Day Threat
The recent government budget has ignited a firestorm of discontent across the nation. Many perceive it as a deliberate attack on working-class families and vulnerable groups. From the taxation of school fees to the removal of vital benefits for pensioners, the government's policies have sparked widespread anger and frustration.
The budget's impact will be far-reaching, affecting everyone from students to pensioners. Retailers have already warned of price increases and job losses as a result of the National Insurance changes. The government's disregard for the plight of ordinary people has created a powder keg that could ignite a full-scale general strike.
With unions across the country mobilising and workers feeling increasingly squeezed, the stage is set for a potential confrontation between the workforce and government. The consequences of such a strike would be severe, potentially crippling the nation's economy and infrastructure.
A Precarious Economic Landscape
The UK economy is already teetering on the brink, with the hard-won gains of previous administrations being eroded at an alarming rate. Inflation is once again on the rise, economic growth has slowed to a crawl, and unemployment is increasing. The recent rise in mortgage rates is a stark reminder of the fragile state of the economy.
With the government's reckless policies exacerbating these problems, the risk of a full-blown economic crisis is growing. A general strike would only serve to deepen the nation's economic woes. It is imperative that the government takes urgent action to address the concerns of the British people and avert a national catastrophe.
A Call for Reason and Reconciliation
It's clear that the government's recent policies have caused significant distress and uncertainty. It's essential for the government to recognise the impact of these decisions and take steps to alleviate the burden on the public. A more compassionate and empathetic approach is needed to navigate these challenging times.
By engaging in constructive dialogue with unions, businesses, and the public sector, the government can work towards finding solutions that benefit everyone. Open communication, compromise, and a willingness to listen to the concerns of the people are crucial to avoiding a potential social and economic crisis.
Instead of resorting to tax increases, the government should focus on cutting unnecessary spending and streamlining public services. By reducing bureaucracy, eliminating wasteful programs, and embracing innovative solutions, the government can achieve significant savings without compromising essential services.
Moreover, involving the private sector in the delivery of public services can bring greater efficiency and accountability. By learning from the private sector's experience and adopting best practices, the government can improve the quality of public services while reducing costs.
It's time for the government to step back, reassess its policies, and prioritise the well-being of the nation. By taking decisive action to address the root causes of discontent, the government can prevent a general strike and restore faith in the political system.
Ultimately, the future of the UK depends on the government's ability to govern with wisdom, compassion, and a deep understanding of the needs of its people.

on the note of my last reblog, i was thinking recently about how we keep examining (and how the show examines) the similarities between zzs and zcl and how zzs‘s own disregard of his own state of mind, as a result from inheriting too much responsibility too early and his years of handling failure and loss like signs of personal wickedness, makes him awkward and overwhelmed when confronted with zcl, a grieving and traumatised child carrying heavy expectations upon his back just like zzs did back then. but i havent seen an analysis yet on how wkx falls into the same traps. likely because wkx is the compassionate, attentive parent of their dynamic. where zzs is stern and tells zcl lots of unhelpful repressing bullshit, wkx offers zcl room to be angry, to grieve, to cry. hes also the one most vocal about his concerns regarding the five lakes alliance. he doesnt really seem like he is ignorant of zcl‘s struggles, and in many cases his own similar experiences seem to inform him in his worry and consideration. but i keep remembering how wkx creates forgeries of the glazed armour and orchestrates social infighting and uproar at the heroes conference, despite knowing that zcl carries a piece of the glazed armour in his stomach, that he is already hunted by most of jianghu, and that his life and safety isnt worth much to many in zcl‘s immediate vicinity. it makes me think of how wkx weaponized his own pain, his own body, to survive at the valley, and how he continues to exploit his own trauma to fuel his vengeance. i dont think he intends for the same to happen to zcl, but it is apparent that zcl is collateral damage to wkx, and that wkx is willing to destabilize zcl further if it means to succeed in his ideal concept of a purged society
#thats probably also the core part of wkx‘s major internal conflict#risking that innocents get harmed vs changing his mind about his plans#i dont think wkx expected to face that moral and psychological conflict when he set out from the valley#he is interestingly cold and fake in the first episodes#you can literally see him warming up#over the course of getting to know zcl better#he keeps getting confronted with the human consequence of his own choices#and it must confuse and challenge him greatly#wen kexing from woh#my thoughts#word of honor#wen kexing#zhang chengling#meta#shl

The Role of Veganism in Ending Animal Cruelty in Factory Farms

Animal cruelty is a global issue that has garnered increasing attention in recent years. With the rise of factory farming, which refers to the intensive confinement and mass production of animals for food, the scale and severity of animal suffering has reached unprecedented levels. The use of animals for food has been deeply ingrained in human culture for centuries, making it a challenging issue to address. However, with the growing popularity of veganism, a plant-based diet that excludes all animal products, there is hope for a transformation in the way we view and treat animals. In this article, we will explore the role of veganism in ending animal cruelty in factory farms. We will delve into the ethical, environmental, and health implications of factory farming and how veganism offers a solution to these pressing concerns. Furthermore, we will examine the effectiveness of veganism as a means to promote animal welfare and advocate for the rights of animals. By shedding light on the impact of veganism on factory farming, it is hoped that this article will contribute to the ongoing discussion on the importance of adopting a more compassionate and sustainable lifestyle.
Ethical choice: going vegan
Many individuals have increasingly turned to veganism as an ethical choice due to its potential to contribute towards ending animal cruelty in factory farms. By embracing a vegan lifestyle, individuals are actively refusing to support industries that exploit and harm animals for food production. This choice aligns with the belief that animals have inherent value and deserve to be treated with respect and compassion. With the awareness of the conditions animals endure within factory farms, the decision to go vegan is seen as a way to promote a more compassionate and sustainable relationship with animals, fostering a deeper sense of responsibility towards their well-being. Veganism encompasses not only dietary choices but also extends to various aspects of everyday life, including clothing, personal care products, and entertainment, aiming to minimize harm and exploitation towards animals. By making this ethical choice, individuals contribute to a growing movement that seeks to create a more compassionate and cruelty-free world for animals in factory farms.
Benefits for animal welfare
One of the significant benefits of adopting a vegan lifestyle is the positive impact it has on animal welfare. By choosing to abstain from consuming animal products, individuals contribute to reducing the demand for factory-farmed animals. The conditions in factory farms often involve overcrowded and unsanitary environments, where animals are subjected to physical and psychological distress. These animals are frequently subjected to practices such as confinement, mutilation, and forced breeding. By embracing veganism, individuals actively take a stand against these inhumane practices and work towards creating a more compassionate and humane society for animals. Additionally, veganism promotes the adoption of alternative farming practices that prioritize animal welfare, such as free-range and organic farming methods. These practices allow animals to live in more natural and comfortable environments, enhancing their overall well-being. Through the choice to adopt a vegan lifestyle, individuals play a vital role in advocating for the improved treatment of animals and taking steps towards ending animal cruelty in factory farms.
Reducing demand for animal products

As awareness about the consequences of animal agriculture continues to grow, individuals and societies can play a crucial role in reducing the demand for animal products. This can be achieved by promoting and supporting alternative sources of nutrition, such as plant-based foods and meat substitutes. By embracing a plant-based diet, individuals not only contribute to reducing the suffering of animals in factory farms but also help mitigate the environmental impact of animal agriculture. Additionally, education and advocacy efforts can be employed to raise awareness about the benefits of reducing animal product consumption, emphasizing the health benefits, sustainability aspects, and ethical considerations associated with a vegan lifestyle. By actively promoting the reduction of demand for animal products, we can collectively work towards creating a more compassionate and sustainable future for animals and our planet.
Exposing cruel practices in factories
Exposing the cruel practices that occur within factory farms is an essential step in addressing the issue of animal cruelty. Through investigative journalism, animal rights organizations, and whistleblowers, the public is increasingly becoming aware of the inhumane conditions and treatment that animals endure in these facilities. Documentaries and undercover investigations have revealed overcrowded spaces, unsanitary living conditions, and abusive handling methods, highlighting the need for transparency and accountability within the industry. By shedding light on these practices, individuals are empowered to make informed choices about their consumption and support alternative options that prioritize animal welfare. This exposure not only challenges the ethical implications of factory farming but also encourages the development of more humane and sustainable practices within the agricultural industry.
Supporting small, sustainable farms
One effective way to address the issue of animal cruelty in factory farms is by supporting small, sustainable farms. These farms prioritize animal welfare and employ more humane practices in their operations. By choosing to purchase products from these farms, consumers can actively contribute to the demand for ethically sourced and humanely raised animal products. Supporting small farms also strengthens local economies, as these farms often play a vital role in the communities they operate in. Additionally, sustainable farming practices promote environmental stewardship by minimizing the use of harmful chemicals and reducing carbon emissions. By consciously supporting small, sustainable farms, individuals can make a significant impact in reducing animal cruelty and promoting a more ethical and sustainable food system.
Promoting compassion for all beings
One essential aspect of addressing animal cruelty in factory farms is promoting compassion for all beings. Recognizing the intrinsic value of every living creature and acknowledging their capacity to feel pain and suffer is crucial in cultivating a more ethical and compassionate society. By advocating for the rights and well-being of animals, we can strive towards a world where their lives are respected and protected. This can be achieved through raising awareness about the realities of factory farming, educating others about the ethical implications of their dietary choices, and promoting alternatives that prioritize the welfare of animals. By fostering empathy and understanding, we can inspire individuals to make conscious decisions that align with their values and contribute to the collective effort of ending animal cruelty.
Boycotting animal exploitation industries
To effectively address the issue of animal cruelty in factory farms, it is imperative to consider the role of boycotting animal exploitation industries. By consciously choosing to abstain from supporting these industries, individuals can directly impact the demand for products derived from animal exploitation. Boycotting can take various forms, such as refraining from purchasing products tested on animals, avoiding the consumption of meat, dairy, and other animal-derived products, and opting for cruelty-free alternatives. This deliberate choice sends a powerful message to these industries, signaling that consumers prioritize ethical practices and refuse to contribute to the suffering of animals. By boycotting animal exploitation industries, individuals can actively participate in the movement towards ending animal cruelty and promoting a more compassionate and sustainable future.
Educating others on veganism's impact
An essential aspect of advocating for the end of animal cruelty in factory farms is educating others on the impact of veganism. By providing accurate and compelling information about the benefits of a vegan lifestyle, individuals can inspire others to make conscious choices that align with their values. Educating others involves raising awareness about the ethical implications of supporting animal exploitation industries and the environmental consequences of animal agriculture. It also entails highlighting the numerous health benefits associated with a plant-based diet. Through engaging discussions, informative resources, and sharing personal experiences, individuals can encourage others to consider the positive impact that veganism can have on animal welfare, the environment, and personal well-being. By fostering understanding and promoting compassion, education plays a crucial role in transforming attitudes and behaviors towards a more humane and sustainable future.
Creating a more humane society
In order to create a more humane society, it is imperative that we extend our compassion not only towards animals, but also towards one another. This involves promoting empathy, respect, and understanding in our interactions with fellow humans. By fostering a culture of inclusivity and acceptance, we can strive towards a society that values the well-being and dignity of all individuals, regardless of their race, gender, socioeconomic status, or any other characteristic. This means actively challenging discrimination, advocating for equal rights, and working towards dismantling systemic injustices. Creating a more humane society necessitates recognizing the inherent worth and deservingness of every human being, and collectively working towards a future where compassion and justice prevail.
Taking a stand against cruelty.

As we delve deeper into the issue of cruelty, it becomes clear that taking a stand against such acts is not only a moral imperative, but also a crucial step towards building a better world. It requires us to confront the uncomfortable truth that cruelty exists in various forms, whether it be towards animals, the environment, or even our fellow humans. By actively opposing and speaking out against acts of cruelty, we can challenge the prevailing norms and work towards creating a society that prioritizes empathy, compassion, and justice. This involves raising awareness about the consequences of our actions, supporting organizations and initiatives that promote kindness and respect, and advocating for stronger laws and regulations to prevent and punish acts of cruelty. By collectively standing up against cruelty, we can foster a more compassionate and equitable world for all living beings.
In conclusion, veganism plays a crucial role in ending the cycle of animal cruelty in factory farms. By choosing to adopt a plant-based diet, individuals are actively reducing the demand for animal products and therefore, reducing the number of animals suffering in factory farms. Additionally, advocating for stricter regulations and ethical treatment of animals in these facilities can create real change in the industry. It is up to each and every one of us to make conscious and compassionate choices in our daily lives, and together, we can work towards a more humane and sustainable future for all beings.
FAQ
How does veganism contribute to reducing animal cruelty in factory farms?
Veganism contributes to reducing animal cruelty in factory farms by eliminating the demand for animal products. By abstaining from consuming meat, dairy, and eggs, vegans effectively decrease the profitability of factory farming practices, which often involve cruel confinement, overcrowding, and inhumane treatment of animals. With fewer consumers supporting these industries, there is less need for the mass production of animals, leading to a decrease in the overall suffering and cruelty experienced by animals in factory farms. Additionally, veganism promotes a more compassionate and ethical lifestyle that encourages individuals to seek out alternative, cruelty-free options for food and other products.
What are some specific practices in factory farming that veganism aims to address and eliminate?
Veganism aims to address and eliminate specific practices in factory farming such as the confinement of animals in small cages or crates, overcrowding, routine use of antibiotics and hormones, forced feeding, tail docking, debeaking, and other forms of physical mutilation. Additionally, veganism aims to address the environmental impact of factory farming, including deforestation for animal feed production, water pollution from animal waste, and greenhouse gas emissions. By promoting a plant-based diet, veganism seeks to reduce the demand for products derived from these practices and advocate for more ethical and sustainable alternatives.
Can veganism alone bring an end to animal cruelty in factory farms, or are other measures necessary?
While veganism can significantly reduce animal cruelty in factory farms by eliminating demand for animal products, other measures are necessary to completely end animal cruelty. These measures include stricter regulations and enforcement of animal welfare laws, promoting alternative farming practices that prioritize animal welfare, and raising public awareness about the ethical implications of factory farming. Additionally, supporting organizations that work towards animal rights and advocating for policy changes can also contribute to the ultimate goal of ending animal cruelty in factory farms. Veganism alone is a powerful step, but it needs to be accompanied by broader changes in the industry and society as a whole.
Are there any successful examples or case studies where veganism has played a significant role in ending animal cruelty in factory farms?
Yes, there have been successful examples and case studies where veganism has played a significant role in raising awareness and reducing animal cruelty in factory farms. For example, the growth of the vegan movement has led to increased demand for plant-based alternatives, resulting in more companies offering cruelty-free options. This shift in consumer preferences has prompted some factory farms to adopt more humane practices to meet market demands. Additionally, vegan advocacy groups have worked tirelessly to expose the realities of factory farming, leading to legislative changes and increased public support for animal welfare. While there is still progress to be made, veganism has undeniably made a positive impact in reducing animal cruelty in factory farms.
What are some potential challenges or obstacles faced by veganism in its mission to end animal cruelty in factory farms?
Some potential challenges faced by veganism in its mission to end animal cruelty in factory farms include societal norms and attitudes towards animals, cultural and traditional practices, the influence of powerful industries, limited accessibility to vegan options, and the perception of veganism as an extreme or restrictive lifestyle. Additionally, there may be resistance or skepticism from individuals who are not aware of the ethical, environmental, and health implications of animal agriculture. Overcoming these challenges requires education, awareness campaigns, advocacy, and the promotion of alternatives that make veganism more accessible and appealing to a wider audience.

( cis woman , she/her ) - a gossip blog reported that eleanor middleton , the artist , was attending a high society event last night . according to the blog , the forty one year old was acting compassionate , but also some reports said erratic . who really knows ? after further deep diving , she reminds me of statement rings, looking windswept, frantic messaging at 2am, paint splatters on loafers . i’m sure we’ll be seeing more of her !
triggers: death, adoption, mental illness
eleanor was born to a single mother. she was never planned and was indeed a strain on the household. her mother hid her pregnancy with her until she went into labor and told her parents. it was a disaster and continued to be when el was born. none of it was her fault but her mother was already suffering from mental illness, something that wasn’t helped by the judgemental people around her. then suddenly, the woman was gone in an accident - eleanor's own family didn't want her. she would scream for her mother, for anyone but they wouldn't come.
at the age of five, she was adopted by the daughter of edward astor middleton, a known billionaire . money prevailed in getting the woman what she wanted, a child when she was a single and vile person that would say and do anything to get one. when unable to conceive herself, she looked towards adoption and the process was much quicker taking a five year old, plus, she skipped out baby night feeding so it was of no concern to her.
it took her a while to get settled but with edward’s help, eleanor managed. she always felt a bit out of place with her peers; she didn’t catch onto jokes that fast nor did she necessarily care about designer things or status. she was labelled as odd and that’s how it stayed. she loved singing, mainly to herself and also art. that was her happy place along with being with people - even if they didn’t understand her, she still found the positives to enjoy it. her grandfather was very supportive with whatever she wanted but she never once asked for anything apart from ‘dinners and dance parties’. in the absence of her mother's caring, edward was the one to make her feel like she was exactly where she needed to be, even be quick to put her into therapy, not because she was broken but because she needed that external support where she could be honest. el was always grateful, always reminded that she got lucky with the life by her mother and edward took that pressure off. the whole world probably had some opinion on the billionaire but he was perfect to her.
when she was in her teen years, she worked as a model for her mother’s cosmetic company. without realising it, el was responsible for her mother’s success because it made the woman branch out into new foundation shades - it wasn’t perfect but it was a step in the right direction and her mother was applauded whilst felicity became the face of the entire company - not just the face but the name of astoria cosmetics. you couldn’t go anywhere without seeing her face. it did cause controversy with her being young, as well as eleanor receiving hate for how she looked but it got people talking.
it was a lot of pressure to put on her but she was agreeable in nature and never wanted to upset her mother so never said anything. she fell into her art work as a way to process emotions and things she cared about . through connections, she did manage to get a place at nyu but she’d crumble and pull out only a few months in. it was mainly sitting in her studio, headphones on being in a completely different world while she created and that was and continues to be her happy place.
the news that her grandfather was ill and he wasn’t going to get better hit eleanor the hardest. he was the one person who she felt understood her, the one that tied her to a lot of things and made her feel loved. impulsive and intense behaviour came from her during this time, that was in her second month at university. living in denial was a hard place to be as her mental health deteriorated quickly - el's mother wasn’t the talkative type and every time she tried to accept reality and try to talk about her feelings with the woman, she’d be shut down and thrown into a schedule. she’d dropped out and hadn’t told her mother - being dishonest was not her thing...
she had a breakdown at a photoshoot. the photographer was quick to intervene and attempted to comfort her until they could get her somewhere safe. a day after, she was hospitalised but her mother wanted to get her out quickly to 'salvage their reputation'. the entire ordeal upset her.. it was just her and her mother and although she felt broken, she needed to be there to comfort her mom because she could see that the woman was struggling - it was hindering them both that she still didn’t want to talk about it.
the reading of edward middleton’s will was a big event. eleanor wasn’t expecting to get anything as he’d given her more than enough love to make up for the lack in her life. it was a great surprise to everyone, including her, when edward left everything to her. overwhelmed didn’t even cover it. his savings, current bank account, shares in his company, property... everything. she was so confused as to why and did feel sorry for her mother but she didn’t even have time to think about what she wanted to do with the billions (tabloids will say millions which is half-true because they underestimate the situation) before the woman that she called mother would be filing to court to try get it revoked and passed to her.
eleanor did not want to fight with her mother. the woman didn’t even tell her about it, a lawyer made her aware that her mother wanted to take it from her and was bringing her sanity into question. despite her mental illness, the ordeal was ruled in her favour but winning against her own mother didn't feel like a win at all. she'd dropped out of university but had the luxury of focusing on her artwork as she had the privilege to do so. all it took was one person to come into her studio and the rest was history. eleanor was always humble, never flaunting her wealth in people's face (not for the most part, anyways). when she did, it was because she wasn't that self aware to recognise she was doing it.
she managed to keep herself steady for a while. her medication and therapy was working, she felt comfortable, her artwork was being admired and sold for $$$$$$$$ - she was happy, right? she felt like she had gone from someone that was easily satisfied to never being satisfied. it was then when she found someone she'd call her best friend. the two were very different but got on really well - eleanor felt safe, like they wouldn't judge her and when she had a bad day, they'd always find a way to cheer her up and if they couldn't, they'd make sure to sit with her in her penthouse to make sure she wasn't alone.
however, pressures would get to her - with deadlines, her attempting to try have a hand in her grandfather's company from a legacy... everything seemed so stressful and then it felt so threatening. it was a long time coming but she sold the majority of her shares in her grandfather's company (she still owns 25% but is more a nepo figure than actually having to do anything). however, it didn't feel like a weight had been lifted - her grandfather would be so disappointed with her. she just wasn't up to - she was flighty, unreliable, a people-pleaser and whilst he'd always encouraged being kind, there was a point where she needed to stop letting people walk all over her.
the last straw was when someone accused her of plagiarising their work. she hadn't, she'd done no such thing - if anything, they had taken some inspiration from a few of her pieces. another law suit was following and she really didn't want that to happen again. the other was adamant that she'd stolen from then when she hadn't; it was quite upsetting to her. eleanor was far from professional in the weeks that followed. perhaps she'd dreamt of the other's piece before they even released it? or she'd seem their artwork in passing? she didn't know but none were good defences. "i didn't know!" wasn't something that would hold up either and she was crumbling at the start of proceedings. she felt like if it came out to the public, her image would be ruined and it would lead them to question other pieces. art was her passion and she automatically assumed the worst because she felt like it - eleanor had always been her worst critic.
she was already having an episode but people in her circles were ignoring it. 'eleanor and her stories, she does let that brain of hers run wild sometimes' or just a simple scoff and shrug of the shoulders before 'artists...' was mumbled. all of a sudden, everyone in her life felt so distant. there was somewhat of an incident at the national gallery - the security suspected that she was on something. it was a member of the public that took her to a&e and that lead to multiple referrals being made for her as well as her being admitted.
things aren't settled with the other artist as of yet but she's trying to come to some sort of arrangement - she just doesn't want to look like she's guilty but perhaps she's unintentionally done it. eleanor doesn't trust herself right now at all, especially after recent events. however, she's really trying to take care of herself and try to get over this newly found fear of creating something. however, pretending that it was just a blip and isn't a worry for her isn't doing her any favours.
little facts:
she’s not bothered about designer labels. if it’s pretty, she’ll buy it, whether it’s from chanel or a charity shop, it doesn’t matter to her.
tries to be positive to everyone and everything but it makes her feel good. she is naive when it comes to trusting people but wants to be loved so is ultimately a people pleaser.
cries very easily - if she’s happy, sad or scared, she’ll be crying. el also very much wears her heart on her sleeve!
was labelled as ‘kooky’ pretty early on but doesn’t really mind. she does try to fit in but it never ends up being how she imagined. she's diagnosed with schizophrenia. it's not that she hides it, just doesn't feel the need to mention it most of the time.
has drunk since she was a teen and still doesn’t know her limits :)
she is messy, both in organising and behaviour.
either cant sleep so she decides to scrap book while listening to music at three am or she does nothing but sleep.
has taken up yoga for the first time and she thinks she's terrible at it - not flexible and unbalanced but she does run a lot when she needs to clear her head and will say it's better to do that here than across the country on a treadmill.
loves to wear suits and blazers! messes her hair up within 3 mins of leaving the house.
she's recently been giving a plant as a gift to help her focus and look after something (part of her self-care) but she's really bad at keeping green things alive - she's really trying though.
is incredibly loyal and loving but doesn’t try to ask too many questions. her personality can sometimes be imposing as it is.
is trying to act like nothing is happening so is over-compensating with her chirpy personality.
likes all types of music apart from country, sorry :/
her fave colours are blue, green and purple but not together

The Silent Divide: Artificial Intelligence’s Impact on Human Interaction
Artificial intelligence (AI) has undoubtedly revolutionized various aspects of our lives, offering convenience, efficiency, and new possibilities. However, as AI continues to advance, concerns arise about its potential impact on human interaction and understanding. In this article, we examine the decline in human interaction and understanding that can be attributed to the rise of artificial intelligence.
1. Diminished Face-to-Face Communication: The increasing reliance on AI-powered communication platforms, chatbots, and virtual assistants has led to a decline in face-to-face interactions. Human interactions that were once integral to our daily lives, such as engaging in meaningful conversations, reading non-verbal cues, and building emotional connections, are being replaced by impersonal interactions with AI-driven interfaces.
2. Loss of Empathy and Emotional Connection: AI lacks the ability to understand and empathize with human emotions, which is a fundamental aspect of human interaction. As individuals interact more with AI systems, there is a risk of diminished emotional intelligence and a decline in the ability to relate and understand others’ feelings. This can lead to a less compassionate society and strained interpersonal relationships.
3. Reduced Depth of Understanding: While AI provides quick access to information, it often prioritizes breadth over depth. The ease of obtaining surface-level answers through search engines and automated responses can discourage individuals from engaging in thorough research, critical thinking, and nuanced understanding. This can result in a shallow comprehension of complex issues and a lack of intellectual curiosity.
4. Filter Bubbles and Echo Chambers: AI algorithms used in social media and content recommendation systems tend to personalize and tailor content based on individual preferences and past behavior. This creates filter bubbles and echo chambers, where individuals are exposed only to information that aligns with their existing beliefs and interests. The lack of diverse perspectives hampers a well-rounded understanding of different viewpoints and can contribute to polarization and social division.
5. Dependence on AI for Decision-Making: AI systems are increasingly used to make decisions for individuals, ranging from personalized recommendations to automated financial investments. While convenient, this reliance on AI can diminish human agency and critical thinking. Individuals may become less engaged in the decision-making process, relying on AI’s suggestions without fully understanding the underlying reasoning or potential biases.
6. Ethical Considerations and Human Values: As AI becomes more prevalent in decision-making processes, ethical considerations may be overlooked or undervalued. AI algorithms can inadvertently perpetuate biases present in training data, leading to discriminatory outcomes. Additionally, AI lacks moral reasoning and may struggle with understanding complex ethical dilemmas, further distancing human understanding influenced by ethical values.
While artificial intelligence offers immense benefits and opportunities, it also poses challenges to human interaction and understanding. The decline in face-to-face communication, diminished empathy, reduced depth of understanding, filter bubbles, and dependence on AI decision-making contribute to a potential erosion of meaningful human connections and comprehensive understanding. As we navigate the AI-driven future, it is crucial to strike a balance, ensuring that human interaction, empathy, and critical thinking remain at the forefront. By actively seeking diverse perspectives, fostering face-to-face interactions, and maintaining human agency in decision-making processes, we can mitigate the negative impact of AI on human understanding and cultivate a society that values authentic connections and deep comprehension of the world around us.
