Cub has a Blacephalon because it’s the firework Pokémon, it pair well with his friendship with Scar since the poor guy doesn’t like clowns, and also Cub would open an ultra wormhole, catch a pokèmon, and then be so fucking casual about it later. He can handle an ultra beast

PET Pokémon: Pearl

“Originating from a little-known region south of Kanto, here we have Pearlescent Moon! Pearl became a competitive battler as a teenager, quickly rising up the ranks until becoming a champion! She and her partner Rockruff were favorites among fans up until their championship tournament- recordings were corrupted so no one can be certain what really happened, but it must have been serious to have pushed her partner to evolution!” ~Champion Time News

Starting off with Pearl, our main character! She’s the one I have the most planned for, both in terms of backstory and upcoming plot. Pearl takes the form of a protagonist character for a fake Australia-inspired region. Her journey was followed by strange events and oddities, breaks in reality. She became friends with the members of a private internet forum (Evo) during her time in the gym circuit as they compared her current experiences with historic records and discussed battle strategies, and began adventuring alongside her rival Karn when the Ultra Wormhole activity got too risky (becoming partners with him years later).

Pearl’s initial adventure ended when an Ultra Wormhole opened during her championship tournament, dragging the competitors into another dimension. She managed to save them all… barely. The details of the event aren’t publicly known, and Pearl isn’t one to talk about it unless she has to. All anyone uninvolved knows is that it resulted in her Rockruff evolving and awarded her the title of Champion. She’s never been quite the same since this event, dubbed the Championship Crisis, but years of separation and therapy have dulled some of the pain.

In modern days Pearl is still an active Champion-level trainer, and works for the International Police as an Ultraspace specialist. She spends most of her time as a community leader around the region (as is expected of Champions), occasionally leaving to handle reports of potential Ultraspace activity around the world. 

She’s got the largest team by far, and I’ve borrowed from Alola’s pokedex pretty heavily when making it. 

Her two Meowstic are, of course, Nugget and Olive. They were originally her family’s Pokemon, but she took them in after the Championship Crisis. They don’t take the field as battlers, instead providing support with their psychic abilities (and as a form of emotional support to Pearl). Their inclusion does push her team up to eight Pokemon, but in my mind the six Pokemon team limit is actually just a League rule for official battles and a rule of thumb in terms of how many Pokemon a competitive battler can actually take care of at a time.

Her midnight-form Lycanroc is another obvious pick, Tilly! She caught a Rockruff as a starter pokemon and it took on a role similar to Ash’s Pikachu, being immensely overpowered for an unevolved pokemon… up until the Championship Crisis. Pearl also caught her Naganadel as a Poipole during the same event. Most people are unsettled by the Ultra Beast, so it mostly helps out with Pearl’s International Police duties rather than the Champion ones.

And while that does it for all of her directly plot-relevant pokemon, we’ve still got most of a team to go through! Lurantis is sorta based on Pearl’s Empires theme–their arms would make a good scythe for harvesting crops, wouldn’t they? Along the same line, Beeheyem is based on Pearl’s Hermitcraft season 9 theme. I haven’t had the time to watch much of that season, but I’m hoping that it works well with her astral association if it doesn’t actually relate to s9. I’d also love to include a pokemon that references being the Queen of Decked Out 2, but I’m not entirely sure what would make sense for that.

Alolan Marowak was a delightfully easy choice; I’d been thinking that it seemed like a good pick, but couldn’t figure out a reason why… up until Pearl mentioned in a somewhat recent stream that Marowak is her favorite pokemon. Immensely fortuitous! Honestly Kantonian Marowak probably makes more sense than the Alolan form, but for whatever reason I’ve been pretty set on the idea of Pearl having a Mudsdale and I’d like for her to retain some level of type diversity.

i’ve been stubbornly completing the dex as i go right. and there’s SOS encounters that you can only get in certain weather conditions which you can first access in the lush jungle, namely goomy and castform. the bulbapedia article for weather encounters just says “weather conditions” so i spend a ridiculous combined 100,000 pokedollars to get rain dance and sunny day TMs which nearly makes me broke bc i’ve also been buying a lot of special pokeballs

goomy takes a while just bc i’m unlucky but eventually i get it. castform on the other hand i grind for like 2 hours and still can’t find it so i finally double check bulbapedia. and for SOME REASON, i realize after checking the page for lush jungle closer, despite castform having a sun form but NOT a sandstorm form, it only appears in rain/hail/sandstorm???? SO I WASTED 50k AND 2 HOURS+ ON NOTHING???

so now im stubborn/determined, i grind money very slowly on pearl items from fishing in bubbling spots (got some heart scales while i was at it too i guess) and go completely broke on a sandstorm TM - but then i find out despite online sources saying alolan grimer can learn sandstorm just like i used it for rain and sun, it actually CAN’T and NEITHER CAN MY LYCANROC??

It was world book day on Wednesday. I didn't have much time to read since I was too busy with school. But later in the evening, I managed to read through The Three Musketeers and a few Geronimo Stilton books I either hadn't finished yet or just started reading.

After that, I read a few manga. Things seemed like they were heating up in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Adventure with the Sinnoh League. Koya is also a good rival that doesn't feel too much like a jerk and has a mysterious background. I wish the new Pokémon games had a rival like him who had such a good balance of character.

I also wish the Sinnoh tournament standard rules could apply for tournaments in newer Pokémon games.

Pokémon Horizon is also turning out to be good. I was shocked with how weird the pacing was. (Did THAT much time pass by during the island challenge?) I also love all of the focus Midnight form Lycanroc gets in this manga. (It was always my favorite.) I want to keep reading to see how it all ends. But I should probably get back to Pokémon Pocket Monsters Sun & Moon. (To be fair, the only reason why I started reading volume 2 of Pokémon Horizon was because the dirty air made it too difficult to continue with Pokémon Pocket Monsters.)

I read a lot that day. But I wish I could have read a bit more. This pollution is starting to become a pain, and I'm sick of it.

My brain has returned into giving pokemon to mcyt characters mode. Life series edition this time. Everyone gets one pokemon for each season. I am open for suggestions. (Warning, I only really watch Scott) Here's Jimmy, Scott, Pearl, and Cleo.

Jimmy: Comfey. For Flower Husbands. Its besties with Scott's Florges. Two flowers pokemon that are not grass type. Oricorio, Pom-Pom Style. No idea Jimmy did in Last Life and he has to have a bird pokemon. I apologize to Southlanders fans but I dunno. Rapidash. Ranchers. Do I need to explain this one? Is horse, like ranch is firery, like Tango. Absol. It's "bad" dark type for the Bad Boys and also fits Jimmy's cursed by the narrative vibes. Scott: Florges. Flower Husbands pokemon. Blue flower, because that is so a Scott Design, though poppy red was tempting. Alolan Marrowak in Last Life. The gatekeep/so many tunnels boy caught ground type Cubone and it evolved into the cooler form when he didn't boogeyman. Plus, their skeleton farm? Weavile. Scott liked causing problems in Double Life so he gets a dark type. Plus, between him and Pearl, one of them needed a Double Life Ice Type. Qwilfish caught in the Coral Isles. I was tempted to give him Dhelmise here, but the need for a Puffer[f]ish won out. Pearl: Nothing for Third Life, for obvious reasons. Nidoqueen for Last Life. Girlboss for the Girlboss. Also another ground type because they had too many tunnels. Midnight Lycanroc for Tilly. I feel like this needs no explanation. Dog + Red Murder vibes. Meowstic seems like a good Nosy Neighbor Pokemon. I also have no idea what Pearl did in Limited Life so... Cleo: Paldean Tauros for Third Life. I have never watched Cleo's third life but I know she chose violence and also I think she could use a battering ram. Take your pick on which typing. Salazzle is the most Gaslight pokemon to exist. Besides, Cleo needs a pokemon to help her set things on fire. Plus, it fits her reptile vibe. Misdreavus fits best into Double Life. Likes causing problems. Specifically a shiny one because that's Cleo colored. Mostly I wanted Cleo to have a ghost type because Zombie. Mawile is a decent MOM pokemon. Helps take care of the kids and tries to kill Etho on sight. Does Yoga with Cleo. I don't know enough to do anyone else. Martyn should have an Aegislash somewhere though. Part 2

Hi there, I’m Marshall, a student currently studying art in the naranja academy!

While art is the track I’m on, photography is my true passion, I’d KILL to visit the Lental region one day.. Best case scenario is working there.

My trainer card below shouldd give you the info you need.. but I like to ramble, so I’m going to ignore that and do so underneath it. B)

I guess I’ll start with my Pokémon on my trainer card.. I’ll probably make a separate post with the other Pokémon I’ve caught but don’t actively use sometime soon.

The Sylveon on the card is named Zeus, while he wasn’t my starter, which is my decidueye Robin, which I’ll get onto later.. I definitely consider him to be my partner Pokémon! While Zeus evolving into a Sylveon was not my intention when I caught him as an eevee, I still love him nonetheless, even more so. Which then lead onto Sylveon becoming my favourite eeveelution…

On the other hand, the Scizor is named jade. I caught her over here, in Paldea, which makes her one of the two Pokémon from my paldean team that I actively use now. She mayy have tried to attack me as a scyther, but she’s chill now.

Next up is my oricorio, Haru! I caught him in Mele’Mele meadow, and he tends to be a lot more conscious of his appearance compared to the other oricorio I’ve seen, including my other one, Mabel.. (yes I own two oricorio don’t JUDGE me.) he’s almost always preening, bathing, whatever he can do to make himself look good, I guess.

Pearl was SUCH a pain to get into Paldea. But hey, at least I managed to bring her over! My first experience with wild Wimpod was actually back in Galar.. My cousin taught me how to lure out the ones in the mines connecting to Hulbury, so catching her was actually pretty easy.

The second and last Pokémon I caught in Paldea that I use for my team, her name is Mavis. She’s more timid than your average houndoom, and actually tends to get on better with two of my Pokémon from Alola rather than the team I caught in Paldea.. (The Pokémon in question are an Arcanine and lycanroc.. So maybe she prefers being around other canine Pokémon??)

Last but not least.. Robin! My decidueye! He’s the first Pokémon I ever received, my dad gave me him when I turned 13, he almost acts like a caretaker between all the Pokémon I have, he’s serious in battle but chilled out when not.

PET Pokémon

The world of Pokemon is vast and full of familiar faces, but you? You aren’t meant to be here.

As the name implies, this is an AU focusing on Pearl, Etho, and Tango in the Pokemon universe. It’ll additionally contain the cast of the Life Series, but dynamics and themes from outside it are absolutely going to be present. At the moment I don’t have any plans to include canon Pokemon characters, so their roles will either be filled by crossover characters or be brushed over entirely.

Let the introductory plot summary commence!

Our story starts in Alola, several decades ago. The Aether Foundation has punched holes in reality while trying to access Ultraspace. While the immediate crisis was solved by the burgeoning Pokemon League, it’s since been found that the experiments had a more lasting impact. 

The border between worlds has been thinned, causing an increase in the rate of sporadic Ultra Wormholes. A particularly thin spot has been detected shifting around the globe, causing an outbreak of wormholes, though its path is highly meandering and difficult to track. These wormholes are often tiny and benign, but on rare occasions they’ve been found to potentially line up with various cold-cases and unexplained crises.

This information is shared on a need-to-know basis. Pokemon Leagues and other forms of local government have stayed relatively hush-hush about the whole ordeal, not wanting to worry people about something that can’t be fixed. Ultra Beast appearances are rare, but have the potential to become immensely catastrophic if overconfident trainers battle them and lose.

The largest Ultra Beast catastrophe occurred in an Australia-inspired region a decade ago, during Pearl’s journey around the gym circuit. Strange occurrences grew in frequency and severity throughout her travels, eventually pushing her and her rival Karnasas to begin traveling together. This culminated in a massive Ultra Wormhole opening during the championship tournament, unleashing a never-before-seen Ultra Beast that has since been dubbed UB Watcher.

Karn was extensively injured during the event but Pearl managed to drive off the creature, solidifying the title of Champion for herself. Now finding herself with a newly-evolved Lycanroc, a Poipole she caught during the crisis, new responsibilities, and a laundry list of trauma, Pearl dedicated herself to making certain a crisis like this would never happen again. Nowadays she’s the forefront expert on Ultra Space crisis management and spends most of her time either handling domestic champion duties or being sent around the globe to assist with emergency situations.

This all becomes relevant years later, moving this time to Unova. Strange happenings have occurred around the region, usually taking the form of minor disappearances and disruptions to electrical equipment. The machines in Pokemon Centers are regularly breaking down thanks to this, impeding healthcare and long distance communications. While troublesome, the general public is mostly unaware and no connection is suspected.

The severity of these events is cranked up significantly as a train leaving Gear Station and everyone on it disappears without a trace. The Subway Masters, Impulse and Skizz, immediately report it to the Unovan Pokemon League. Tensions are high, thanks to the missing people and the fact that Skizz was actually meant to be on that train. He’d missed his shift due to an emergency at his other job, so the public's not quite sure whether he should be considered a suspect or a target.

The League sends out a call to the International Police, as they’re now suspecting that Ultra Wormholes might be involved, who promise to send out Pearl. In the meantime, Tango begins spending more time at Gear Station to help his friends and keep an eye on the machinery. He ends up determining that there’s a connection between the event and the failing machinery, and that his Pokemon can seemingly detect it in advance.

And here’s just about where the “main plot” would begin. I still have plenty of ideas, just less connecting them. Essentially, Pearl begins traveling around Unova to help with Ultra Wormhole-related issues. Tango joins her; he wants to help get the heat off his friend, and his electric-type pokemon can help track breaches. They soon encounter Etho, who tags along with them for ~mysterious reasons~. The three of them follow the trail of Ultra Wormholes in a facsimile of a traditional Pokemon trainer’s journey, hoping to determine the cause of their intensity and stop it.

And, might I remind you, this is a Life Series crossover… Tragedy is imminent.

Iskall: this is where it gets funky, because purely on color basis I want to give him Zygarde, which is a ground dragon if I remember right. Honestly, even the typing applied to Iskall wouldn’t be that bad either. This also would be funny because the stress and iskall dynamic would have some fun with the “stress, your Pokémon Statistically should be better for this” “but yours are better trained :D” *long-suffering sigh* (they entertain me so- they remind me of me and my friends sometimes :D)

Ren: Rock type, rock type, he has a lycanroc! I believe in my heart he would! He also would have some normal type ones I feel. I started watching him more recently so I have little more reason than “vibes”

False: She’s always struck me as a flying type trainer, especially after the Eagle base- potentially with a skarmory so flying steel would be what I would assign

Doc: Dark and Electric. Dark because he would love the commitment to his villain bit, and finds it fun to mess with the limits of what their manipulated element can do. Electric too for the experiment reason, and just consider tall Doc with like… a pachirisu as a little gremlin partner in crime. Vibes. That or he stuck with the visual intimidation and went the electivire

Joe Hills: I have never seen a man so psychic type coded in my LIFE- but he would also have the funky normal types. Like give this man a porygon. Give him a psyduck.

Honorable mention: Quinn Hills has a meloetta I believe. She deserves a slay Pokémon and also her voice is nice :D she would also have a jigglypuff and a gardevoir. I don’t think too much about Pokémon in relation to my other interests. Noooo-

Pearl: Deoxys haver, purely for last seasons theme. However, she normally goes for a good ground type, she has a paladean wooper who evolved into a lovely clodsire. She would probably have grass types as well.

Etho: newer viewer of Etho, however he does have Ghost Type Trainer Vibes™️. He would also have a Hisuian Zororark

Tango: Purely for the blazeborn origin the fandom assigned him, he does have fire types. He has a shiny litwick from decked out that evolved into a chandelure. However I also believe in steel types being another option for him.

Gem: Dragon type trainer, however she also hits me as overall a water type one as well. There’s no bond quite as strong as a girl who loves her silly powerful Pokémon that strike fear in the hearts of men but also are adorable and want cuddles.

Impulse: Electric type trainer. Yeah. Listen, he’s so electric type trainer who has ground coverage.

Zedaph: HE! Also electric type, but he also hits me as a good balance of electric and ghost because of the mischief that ghost types like to make. The ghosts helped lock his inventory.

Joel Smallishbeans: This dude originally started out as a poison type trainer, but then eventually got psychic coverage after his wife pointed it out and subtly (not at all subtly) gave him a baby espurr from her team. However, his willing secondary typing is dragon.

Honorable mention: Lizzie is a psychic type trainer. She is SO “has a Hatterene and will have it check your vibe.” She has a Mareanie from Joel.

Grian: Ghost Type trainer but not in the “edgy I’m in a haunted house” way, ghost type trainer in the “yes, my Pokémon did cause that, but consider: plausible deniability.” He’s got a Dhelmise from the fishing saga. He also has a Paras from season 6.

Mumbo: Dark and normal type trainer. Why? Vibes. That’s just how my brain sees it. I’ve watched this man for like two years and like my only explanation is vibes.

Scar: this man is a GRASS TYPE TRAINER- I believe. Scars landscaping services is assisted by a Shaymin that finds him funny. This Shaymin also appreciates Bdubs.

Bdubs: Grass and rock trainer. I’m newer to watching him, but he seems like that vibe.
