"I am going to leave Chris for 20 days and go to eight different Madison Beer concerts!" Nick explains to viewers.

"Congratulations, Nick. Us three don't care at the moment. We're all tired." Dani yawns rubbing her eyes

When they get to the airport to drop off Matt, Nick, and Dani to go back home in LA, Nick says how much he'll miss Chris. The two then talk about how Nick is taking the camera with him.

"He's taking that?" Matt asks confused as he gets his bags.

"You're taking it." Chris tells him.

"I'm not talking it. I'm taking a nap." Matt makes it clear.

"Dude, same." Dani grabs her bags as well, "Bye bye." She gives Chris a hug.

~ Aug 12 ~

"Matt and I have been alone. Because Dani literally left so it would just be the two of us. She wants to give us that experience." Nick vlogs with Matt in the car.

"She comes back when you leave." Matt adds.

"She's so considerate." Nick smiles, "Where is she staying anyways?" He asks since he had no idea where she could be.

"One of her co-workers she's close with, Missy. Most of the time when she's not home shes hanging out with her. They joke that they're each other's work wives." Matt lets Nick know.

"Oh, the pretty tall blonde, right? They are constantly doing duo photo shoots together and brand deals." Nick has an idea who Missy was.

"She's not a blonde, by the way. She's a strawberry blonde, Dani said she's very strict about that." Matt laughs, "But yes, the one she works with the most. Who is also 5'10." Matt adds.

"4'11 and 5'10. Mike and Sully ass." Nick jokes.

"They actually want to dress up as them for a work Halloween party."

At the moment, with Dani and Missy, the girls were at Target to pass the time. Both of them were in the baby section because Missy had to get gifts for her sister's baby shower, "Which blanket should I get?" Missy holds out two options.

"Those aren't technically blankets... It's a sleep-sack." Dani lets Missy know so she looks at them before putting them back. "Look newborn size and you said she loves Harry Potter." Dani picks out a three pack bodysuit.

"Nice, pick." Missy tossed it in the basket, "Have you and Matt talked about kids?" Missy looks through more clothes.

"Sorta, yeah. Mainly for the future but if it did happen early we would still be happy." Dani explains watching her.

"You guys have been dating for only five months and already talking about y'all's future together. Getting married and having kids. Honestly, I could never."

Dani makes a face while Missy wasn't looking at her, "I mean, yeah but it feels longer with Matt. I can't explain it." Dani says so Missy turns to look at her.

"I'm not judging you, Dani. I say I could never but if I felt what you feel for someone maybe I would get it. I know how happy he makes you. You never come to work in a bad mood. Hell, I never hear anything bad between you two." Missy laughs before taking Dani's hands into hers, "Honestly, don't let time or anyone make you not want something with him. If he proposed to you today, you say yes. If you get pregnant, you have that happy family with him."

"I want all that, I do but not right this second. And if it did, hell, I would still be happy." Dani laughs.

"I would be happy for you too, but let's hold off on those things right now." They both laugh.

~ Day 1 ~

"Hello vlog, what's going on. Today is my first day alone. I woke up at...umm..." Matt thinks back.

"Nine-ish." Dani says passing by to go take a shower.

"Woke up like nine in the morning. And umm, I feel violently ill. Took a Covid test and it's negative. But, I have like the worst headache I've ever had in my entire life." Matt explains to viewers, "And Dani talked me into re-watching every episode of Gravity Falls." He says as he walks over to the couch.

"Dani came back home around 11 at night so when Nick left I was actually home by myself for a good amount of hours. Honestly, it wasn't that bad. The worst part was how dead silent it was. Don't get me wrong, I love it quiet but it was too quiet for me." He adds taking a seat on the sofa.

"Once Dani gets out of the shower, I'll be here alone again for about, like, four hours because she has to go to work. She has to film parts for a music video she's acting in so happy for her." He rests his head back, "I don't know what to really talk about when I feel this sick so see you tomorrow." He stops vlogging.

When Dani gets out of the bathroom she is already dressed to leave, "Do you need anything from me before I leave?" She asks him, feeling bad for having to leave him.

"I'm okay, it's just four hours. You've been gone longer in the past." He gives her a smile as she walks over.

"Yeah, but you weren't sick nor home alone."

"I'm fine, honey." He realizes what she was wearing, "You're dressed lazy?"

"Yeah, they have outfits for me to change into and do my hair and makeup." She laughs, "Well, I love you." She heads out.

Exactly four hours later, Dani gets back home to see Matt still on the sofa watching Gravity Falls, "Since you're still dressed, why don't you come here and watch this with me?" He holds his arms out for her to join him.

"How about I make you some soup then I'll join you?" She goes over to kiss the top of his head.

"That sounds nice too." He smiles, wanting to kiss her but doesn't since he doesn't want to get her sick too, "Love you."

"I love you too."

~ Day 2 ~

"Hello everyone, it is day 2 of being alone. I woke up like at nine in the morning today in a pool of sweat. Still have a 100 n' something degree fever. Sorry you ain't getting much vlog out of me. Hopefully the other two are recording a lot. Because I'm just boring and Dani is trying to help me get better. Random soups, teas, and meds. Yeah, that's it from me."

"I feel bad that your experience of being alone is you being sick the whole time." Dani hands Matt a cup.

"What is it now?" He looks at the drink.

"Warm Lemon water with honey." She sees the face he makes, "It's good, trust me." She watches him take a sip and he didn't mind it, "See."

"I like this." He puts his cup down snuggling up in his blanket on the couch.

"I figure you mean me taking care of you?" She takes a seat next to him.

"Yeah, I know that I will have the perfect wife."

Dani can't help but laugh, "Will my husband do the same for me?"

"Of course I will. When you're sick, bad cramps, any pain, when you're too pregnant and tired to do anything." He says with his eyes closed.

Dani watches him start to smile to himself. Ever since he gave her the promise ring all he keeps talking about is their future. Being married and having kids. It drove her insane but in a good way.

"I don't doubt you for a second." She leans over to kiss him.

"No, I don't want you getting sick too." He moves away from her a bit.

"I don't care."

~ Day 4 ~

"I literally re-watched all of Gravity Falls. Re-watched all of Wednesday. I knew I liked it but kinda forgot what happened." Matt gives a vlog update.

"Matt got annoyed that I would smile each time Tyler was on the screen." Dani leans over to get in the frame slightly.

"Huh, wonder why I did?" Matt rolls his eyes.

"You wish I looked at you like that." Dani jokes for the camera.

"Eww, that makes me want too..throw up and I'm not even that kind of sick right now." He covers his mouth.

"That's just rude and hurtful." Dani hits him with a pillow.

"Well don't make jokes like that then." He gives her a sassy look getting up to walk around to talk more about what he's been doing.

Chris: How is it going stranger?

Dani: Still taking care of sick boy. He seems to be getting better.

Chris: Does he have you dressed up as a sexy nurse and have a little bell to ring for you? LOL

Dani: Oh, yeah...

Chris: You would rather move out till he got better wouldn't you, lol. You come all the way back to Boston.

As Dani goes to respond, Matt walks back into the same room, "Let me show you the trash." Matt vlogs, "It's umm... Pretty disgusting." He flips the camera to show Dani.

"Asshole." She flips him off with a smile.

~ Day 5 ~

"Hello everyone. More boring vlogs from my end. I think we're like at the end of the fever town here. Umm, all I really have right now is a headache and like a pretty bad cough. Umm, today I spent watching professional lacrosse." Matt updates viewers.

"All day." Dani says making them snacks in the kitchen.

"Oh and earlier, Dani got me to watch the first Harry Potter movie, finally. I could potentially be a Harry Potter fan. So like, so Dani is going to make sure I finish the rest of the franchise. She's a big Potter head, she said."

"I'm a Slytherin." Dani shouts rushing over to get into frame as Matt roll his eyes.

She jumps onto the couch so she was up higher behind Matt as she leans in him a bit, "No one cares! Everyone, including me, hates you guys."

Dani rests her hands on his shoulders, "Matty, whether you like it or not, you are a Slytherin at heart. No matter what quiz you take or choose." She gives him a smile patting him.

"No I'm not!" He slaps her hands away.

"Sorry but you are. You act exactly like one of us." She jumps off the couch.

"I'm a Gryffindor and that's all I'll ever be."

"So I'm your Malfoy and you're my Potter?" She smiles up at him standing next to him now, "You know what you probably fix better in Gryffindor just because you're too loud and have to be the center of attention." She starts to walk around him, "Spoiled at times, arrogant at times, anger issues, and delusional. Gryffindor is overrated." She pokes him.

"You are literally the bad guys." He laughs at her.

"Only because that's how that bitch wrote us. Our characteristics are way better. And yeah, we are known for our bad guys but we have the some of the most powerful wizards and witches. Merlin was a Slytherin." She crosses her arms, "Want me to keep going because I will and can, honey."

"I'm good." He says so she leaves the room, "See what I have to deal with. She's crazy guys." Matt whispers.

"I heard that!" Dani shouts in the bathroom.

"What are you a witch?!"

~ Day 6 ~

"Good news. I pick Chris up from the airport tomorrow. At 1:50." Matt lets fans know.

"Not exactly." Dani says scrolling through her phone next to him on his bed.

"I think, something like that. But I'm very very very excited to be with him again. And I would tell you all the stories about my day today and what happened, but I'd be lying if I didn't just say... That we watched two more Harry Potter movies. Laid in bed, watched other content through social media platforms and ate powered donuts." He says then shows Dani nodding her.

She looks up to see him filming her, "But yeah, that was pretty much how we spent the day. He enjoyed the movies but hated how I lip synced every line of Prisoner of Azkaban."

Matt quickly moves to film himself, "I couldn't believe how she remembered the entire script of that movie."

"It's my favorite one." She giggles, "And not just because of Remus." She acts like she was blushing, "Daddy Lupin, who?"

"As soon as they showed him sleeping, she was like that's daddy and I was so confused." Matt moves to lay next to her so they were both in frame at the same time.

"Even though Chris is coming back, we're still gonna finish up right?" She turns her head to look at him resting it on his shoulder.

"Yes, we are going to finish up the movies when there's an opportunity for us." He gives her a smile.

"Good because I like the fourth, sixth, and eighth."

"Why?" He asks.

"Yule ball, Draco, and best ending but also sad." She lets him know.

"What about five and seven?"

"I just don't prefer five and seven isn't bad. Personally, it's just not the best Deathly Hallows part to me and the ending makes me upset." She explains more, "Now, no more questions about the movies."

"Are you ready for Chris to come back?" He changes the topic.

"Yeah, I need my crackhead to fight with and bug him. I miss just walking into his room to stare at him then leave him without saying anything." She laughs.

"I hate when you do that shit to me but he finds it entertaining for some reason." Matt shakes his head at how the two acted at times.

"He does the same thing with me. It's an us thing that's why you don't get it."

"I don't get both of you together. It's like two three year olds on a sugar rush." He makes her laugh.

"That's actually actuate."

What are your expectations/theories for Messmer?

I have a few! I even considered making a predictions bingo on him specifically to check when DLC comes out! XD But overall the predictions resulted from me and @val-of-the-north bouncing the ideas around 🤔 I'll need to link a few of other posts here too to help clarifying some relevant topics!

1) I think he is one of the children between Marika and Godfrey, or maybe even her first-born!

At first I was also thinking that him having red hair was a damning evidence that he had to be born from selfcest, like Malenia and Miquella! But Val brought this to my attention that in ER manga, which is apparently on a stronger level of directing than BB comics from my knowledge, Rykard is a blond!

So Val suggested that genes can work a funny way since Marika and Radagon are still the same person, and if Rykard got Marika's golden hair gene even from Radagon's body, the reverse is possible and someone in Golden Lineage could have red hair even from Marika! I also agree because Miquella is venturing into the Shadows Land presumably to discover Marika's secrets:

(Famitsu interview with Miyazaki, taken from this ( x ) post) But Messmer to me feels like he would be fully aware of every Marika's dark secret there is! I joke that he is very Lucifer-coded, but actually Satan-coded is a better comparison. He is the holder of "Hell", where the 'graceless' beings and those rejected by Golden Order reside, like that ancient Misbegotten(ish) creature! If he was the third sibling of this kind, why would he know more than Malenia and Miquella? (I mean, surprise me!) But if he had been there from the very start, carrying her (God's) punishment, then sure!

My other clue towards that is that he shares the "spartan" aesthetic in his clothes with Godfrey and his Duelists ( x ) (and actually Goldmask too)! This whole thing with leg wraps and waistwrap!

2) He is the first to historically partake in Dragon Communion, and the inspiration of Drake Knights

There are dragonic features about himself, the design of his armour and his snakes! Initially I thought of Dragonic Sentinels too, but their whole deal is to combat Granssax, who I concluded attacked after Farum Azula war and Placidusax' lord was fled. More than that, their deal is 'electric' line of dragons specifically, whereas Drake Knights and others who that partake in Dragon Communion are not picky! They eat dragon hearts to take their power, and that includes 'fire' line of dragons, like Greyoll and her spawn!

I speculate that he was the first person historically, with the bright idea of eating dragon heart to take its power, and this is where his fire powers came from. Fire is associated with heresy, but in his case it was both: assuming powers of dragons was heresy itself (so, before Godwyn made dragons 'friends'), but fire powers came from it! As a Demigod, he also did not meet the same miserable fate as Magma Wyrms! He had the privilege to really take something useful by being not mere mortal.

3) The snakes, therefore, are part of his body!

There are two of them, and I assume they're growing from the base of his spine and function like his tails! If Placidusax is anything to go by, this is part of him developing multiple heads but in the way that would not mess with his body too much. Funny enough, I had two dreams of Gwyndolin as a baby, and in both Gwyndolin as a child only had two snakes that did work as tails, so maybe I am biased!

4) Rotten Duelists also take inspiration from him

I am resharing the image by Val from a post I've already linked, but whereas they elaborate sign of Godfrey and hatred for the Giants in their design, the snakes around their arms and on their helmets are supposed to refer to Messmer!

I imagine Godfrey and Messmer being that super cool OG battle duo. Duelists feature two kinds of 'heresy' in their design - the snakes and the symbols of the Giants, and I assume they were proudly wearing these before being driven from the Coliseum! Back then symbolism of "taking power from the enemy" was something honourable, and so was what Messmer did - becoming 'sinful' to be the more powerful weapon of Marika was courageous and virtuous of him. So, snakes were also fine to proudly depict in the clothes! Until it was not:

5) He is banished for (attempted) burning of the Erdtree

This theory is coined in by @val-of-the-north! In this ( x ) post it is explained better, but in short, there are evidences that the big golden Erdtree we see is an illusion, most interesting one is ashes being all over Leyendell even before defeating Maliketh. So that's why it no longer is giving its blessed sap and is "only an object of faith" now, though its lower part is still physical of course. I agree with this idea!

I think he had to do something bad because of the huge sealed eye possibility! Ranni and Melina also have an eye sealed, and both are Demigods that had their 'privilege' within the Golden Order removed in one way or another. Messmer, on the other way, wows to burn whoever is devoid of grace, so I doubt that he would willingly divest himself of it! Whereas he's been heretical for dragonic powers and the 'Satan' to her system to take care of the 'sinners' from the beginning, but he got excommunicated from the family and likely erased from its records! Bonus points if Godwyn being the first in the Golden Lineage is just what they tell people now!

6) GEOOOOOORGGGEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

I've always had a feeling that whereas everyone is anticipating him to become the first true Soulsborne sexyman, something just has to put a dent in it. Just something to sour the character. I can't explain it, it is like sixth sense...? But I think I finally know what it is. During answering this ask, I payed attention how even with other things put in consideration, he still appears to be loyal to his mother and the purpose she intended to him. He speaks defensive against her letting the "unworthy" to become a Lord. Like... this is not necessarily something weird, it could just be strong loyalty even against his self-interest like what we see in Maliketh or Morgott, but there is just strange sixth sense about perhaps some Freudian shit going on in his head that I can't shake, and not anti-climatic one after what they did with Mohg.

7) Motivation for attempted burning of the Erdtree were themes of ambition and perfection

I will link a couple of posts (with pictures) in which I explained how Erdtree is itself a Crucible and how I theorise existence of Omens resulted in denying and loathing the thing ( x ) ( x ). They're not too long tbh, and in both I forgot to bring up the fact that Ancestral Followers worship Minor Erdtrees :') But the main point is, everything sacred will eventually rot and die, however, giving the way to a new thing to sprout from it, and that was something Marika was unwilling to accept. Erdtree and Golden Order, were supposed to be Eternal, like herself.

Marika made everything that reminded of the other side of life, like Misbegotten and Omens, illegal, and ensured immortality in the best way she could, but Messmer took it even further. He attempted to remove the 'life' aspect of the Elden Ring, to separate the sacred power granted to his mother and relatives from the earth. So, from from inevitable death, from ever rotting, from 'cycle'... from everything "imperfect", so it could be just the one perfect, pure, 100% spiritual thing in their hands. + I think what he did happened after Gloam-Eyed Queen fiasco, so that was another point in realising the instability and imperfection. + to draw from the previous point, he might have been really pissed at Greater Will itself on behalf of his mother.

Except, what he did was not something even Marika would agree to. Greater Will specifically sought this "imperfect" world FOR its "imperfections", to gain form and purpose through births and deaths and feelings and struggles from the amorphous empty cosmic state. It was suffering from its superiority, there was nothing to love or hate or want. It gives me the same vibe as how in BB, the Great Ones are willing to trade their perfection for simple joy of loving a child; they don't need to give birth since they're immortal and their genes are not in need of surviving, but there is just... nothing in this immortality. This is something Messmer would not understand. Sellen is another example of this mindset, aspiring for the things the "perfect" beings were willing to escape. It is always the case of 'greener grass' lol

But yes, absolutely no one appreciated the attempt to separate the Elden Ring from being rooted into mortal "flawed" things. I think he still thinks he is right, and that whatever little dialogue he will have should contain quite the vitriol.

8) In the second stage of his battle, he will become far more dragonic.

I expect at least something happening with the snakes akin to becoming his wings. Maybe he will even turn into a dragon, a two-headed one! + also if there is no particularly gruesome (lethal) visceral attack by his snakes I will rebel lol

Soooo yeah... This isn't much, but my imagination is weak when I have limited information x) I have also seen an idea that the thing that pierces Marika's body might be his doing since he is titled the Impaler, but for now I think this is not the case! Her hammer is full of similar sharp shards of Elden Ring, so I think this is just another shard, or, perhaps, something Elden Beast threw at her. Red coloration comes from being bloodied! Marika was a mortal once, after all!

swap au idea

ethgoesboom and the sun and moon show have a lot of things in common. i would like to point to sun and golden freddy specifically. they both accidentally killed at least one child and blame themselves for it ever since. though, how they both deal with the trauma is very different. not only that but they've also been beefing with a villain for years and they haven't reached a breaking point. of course, until the fazbear massacre and the sun snaps arc.

basically, we swap the characters and put them in the other's arcs. including their friends, enemies, etc. now, they still have the same past with eachother. it's just that everything up to the event I mentioned.

golden freddy snaps and kills plushtrap after all the taunting he has done. im replacing bloodmoon with plushtrap because they act similar and just like sun, golden MIGHT have some trauma with him. golden duo or just c.c being golden freddy may be the case here, meaning that plushtrap would've been haunting him. even if it's none of that, he still feels a close connection with the crying child and doesn't like any of the nightmares. anyways, that results in the puppet doing all the things moon did (locking sun in a cage, scolding him, etc). lunar will get replaced by bb since, at the time, the both acted similar. plus, springtrap will be replacing eclipse for obvious reasons and we all know how much he likes killing kids. wait, what about the moon arc? him going into his mind! I got you. in ethgoesboom, the puppet is similar the jigsaw aka ruin when he first arrived. well, instead it brings things to live instead of bringing them to death. but it's been getting too silly so it tries going into it's mind to see what the problem is.

during christmas, eclipse will want to visit earth since springtrap wanted to be let out to see his daughter. he was doing good and earth wanted him out full time. if you don't know, springtrap was locked in a backroom so the same will happen to eclipse. anyways, eclipse is let out and he starts acting like ver 4 eclipse. but, then eclipse gets reminded of why he was in there in the first place. with springtrap, it was a penguin game. with eclipse, probably a game about revenge or getting betrayed. maybe little nightmares 2? anyways, he ends up stealing the star and transforming the following characters into phantoms so he can control them. moon, lunar, roxy to mainly piss off sun and probably some of the other glamrocks. what's left is monty, the tsams golden freddy, and solar (kinda ish?). then the basic fnaf 3 sequence happens and they play the mini games that are linked to the characters to help turn them back but on night 5 they're locked out by bloodmoon. since bloodmoon has beef with eclipse, just like springtrap and plushtrap, it just makes sense. night 6 roles around and they don't know what to do because its not working. so, sun goes out to figure out its only because he hasn't done night 6. ofc, the place burns down. but, moon and other smart characters are back to normal so they use the remains of the star to turn back time just like in ethgoesboom.

teaps puppet would be friends with egb puppet. no evidence for that one chief. you just gonna trust me.

kidscove MIGHT work here because egb foxy and teaps foxy got similar personalities except for egb actually has anger issues LIKE SUN. start the fanart back up guys /j

Rant on why I love and fixate over Scratch (sorry for bad writing + Long warning!!)

If you couldn't tell by my profile I am literally OBSESSED with Scratch. I first actually started watching AoStH about a year ago, because of a clip of the show I saw on tiktok. I thought it was funny therefore I checked the show out. And omg I became so fixated on Scratch specifically. Also don't expect a lot of these reasons to be deep, I am NOT a deep person 😭.

So first off his personality. I adore how he's both an asshole, but also a total wimp. Also he is so SO dumb but in a charming way. I love when he acts like an actual chicken, it's funny and cute (plus his LAUGH OMG, MOST ICONIC LAUGH NEXT TO PAPYRUS'S). Scratch is just a total loser who tries to act cool and I love him for it. Oh also the way his mannerisms are. Omg. The way he SITS. He'll casually just do the splits. On the floor. And the way he walks. And how he STANDS. HE STANDS LIKE A CHICKEN WITH HIS WING HANDS. IT'S SO CLEVER AND CUTE OMGG.

Next is his design. It's just- nice. It's a nice character design, especially when paired up with Grounder (I'll talk about him in a bit, dw I'm also a Grounder fan). I loveee his outfit (?) he has going on, it's simple but nice. I like his extendo-neck, it adds a LOT to him, same with his wing-like hands and arms. Also I'm bias but chickens and crows are my two favorite birds, so that alone is just a yes for me. His eyes are cute. Simple and cute. His COLORS OMG. I am autistic and some colors overstimulate me, so Scratch and aosth as a whole just- the colors are so pretty and nice. I love Scratch's blue-ish color. It's a very nice blue. Oh and he is SO fun to draw. Thank goodness too, cuz the last character I was obsessed with was Guzma, I love his design too but it's a nightmare to draw. The only thing I'd change about Scratch's design (not counting headcanons or styles) is his feet. More specifically his lack of claws. Where are they?? His name is Scratch, so why doesn't he canonly have claws? It's not a big deal, I headcanon he has retractable claws, but still.

Third, I kinda relate to him? Not too much like I did, again bringing up the last character I was obsessed with, Guzma, but still relatable. I'm also very dumb and gullible, and I'm the oldest of my siblings not counting step. I know Scratch and Grounder are technically twins, but for the sake of this I'm gonna say Scratch is ever so slightly older. I relate to random quirks he has like copying and playing out fictional media I like, talking very loudly, and being extremely clumsy.

Probably the most dumb reason on this but I adore it; his outfits. Omg. His outfits. My favorites are def the knight one, the astronaut suit, and I'm not sure what it's called but the outfit he wears in the Egypt episode when he tries to trick Sonic's ancestor. LIKE HE SERVED?? HELLO?? And those are just my favorites. He has such good style in my opinion, he ate almost every single outfit up (almost).

Ok so finally getting to this: his duo dynamic. Omg. Scratch and Grounder are like- my favorite villain duo ever. They're perfect. They balance eachother so nicely and are literally siblings. I love the type of bond they have. They fight almost constantly over everything, and are constantly blaming eachother for no reason, yet they still care for eachother. It's just not obvious. It's more obvious in Grounder, but Grounder isn't really mean. Evil and a shitty influence definitely. But he's not really that mean? Grounder kinda looks up to Scratch a lot, no pun intended, but Scratch also cares back. He just won't vocally say it. Like he has saved Grounder's life MULTIPLE times. And gets very defensive of him when he feels like it. They're not perfect, obviously. Scratch especially can be a total jerk to Grounder for no reason. But at the end of the day they do care for eachother. Hell even when they're not up to catching Sonic or helping Robotnik they're hanging out together, very rarely do you see them on their own. Once in a while yes they do their own thing, but they do hang out a lot. Also how their designs balance eachother is so nice. Scratch is this tall, skinny, chicken robot while Grounder is short, chubby, and a mole robot. Also little side note, the chicken robots Scratch is based off of (Cluckers or something) drive me insane 😭. Like I died probably 26 times from them. Anyways the colors too. Grounder's greenish teal compliments Scratch's red details. Idk as an artist I just like that fact. Don't ask me any deep questions about art btw, ik I work as an artist but I'm not that smart 😰. I like how even though Grounder is the short one Scratch will coward and cling onto him 😭 it's funny. And I love how chaotic they are. Just two dumbass guys doing dumbass things!! Coconuts when added is also amazing. I wish we got to see them work together more. But Grounder and Scratch on their own are again, perfect.

Oh. Also. I like how they're ACTUALLY separate characters. With a lot of duos I see one of two things happen a lot. Either they have very watered down personalities, or are literally the same person. I like how Scratch ans Grounder work together, but on their own are great characters still.

The final reason is probably the most.. I guess vague out of the others. I just feel like he could have a lot of depth. Ok I know he's dumb. He's made as a comedic henchman. He's not supposed to be taken seriously and it's a silly kid's show. But how him and Grounder are treated is lowkey dark? Like they LITERALLY said they're abused. And that's normal to them. They thought "hm yes let's force our robot kid to do chores! That's love!" Like no.. No that's not love 😭. I feel like that could also be a contributing reason to why Scratch is so hostile and cold, even to people he cares for like Grounder. It's because he doesn't know how to show it. But that's more headcanon territory so I dunno. And I feel like them fighting for a BIT of Robotnik's love tears them apart and it's kinda sad to watch. Like they could be very close but can't.

This was more of a sloppy rant than anything. And I don't really watch aosth that often. Not often enough to remember every single detail. So if anything is wrong I am terribly sorry 😭. But those are just a few huge reasons why I love Scratch so much. That's not getting into tiny specific details that don't really matter at all. Anyways I'm sorry for this long ass rant, I swear I won't do this often 😰 probably just one more time for another "show" if I feel like it, I just felt like ranting today! your hc for your vivian and roy

I only watched the first 3 episodes of "Fairly Odder" before it was pulled, but Roy is my absolute favorite <3 I've drawn some doodles of him, but I don't know where they are atm.

So obsessed with the popular boy who literally wanders around with a broken leg and all he does is wish for stuff like golden pants. Everybody loves him and he'll happily leave his own party - or cancel his party - to check up his beloved stepsister. He adores her. He's everything I want in a character.

The whole back-and-forth wish set-up followed by Roy immediately withholding his wish so that Vivian couldn't use hers to get away from him was hilarious. I think he was a great "second take" on a "perfect fairy stepsibling that the other envies" after how Chloe's introduction ruffled so many feathers.

I really didn't like the love interest girl who hung around him with a camera for the "school paper," but I did think it was funny that she ended up being Viv's friend... Now Viv has a friend in a scary new town and the new girl has a way to get close to Roy that's a little less stalker-ish. Also the "Don't you think Roy is hot?" / "He's my stepbrother" / "Mm. Too bad for you" was pretty funny.

I've always interpreted Timmy and Chloe as fairy stepsiblings, so having literal stepsiblings was amazing. I enjoyed them as a duo, but a lot of the writing for the show was flimsy and I couldn't get very far into the show- strong pilot, awful 2nd episode, blatant low budget during the....... "wolf" appearance on Midas, and I lost interest and they removed it before I saw any more episodes.

I do regret not watching a little more, but those were really long episodes that were a struggle for me. I've never been into shows with laugh tracks before, so it was jarring for me, and I usually like more fantasy in my fiction, and "Fairly Odder" did struggle a ton on that end since it was live action (i.e. not even showing the "wolf" onscreen while everybody looked towards the "cameras" and cowered over how scary the wolf was, I think they even narrated what it was doing like "It's getting closer" and... yeah).

I'm glad the new series will be animated because "Odder" was pretty painful. Like I said, mixed feelings about what's to come, but if they're doing this then I'm glad it's animated. I think they also changed Wanda's pants color, which I like because it gives her just a slightly more unique design.

From what I recall, Viv is the daughter of Tyler, who is the younger brother of Timmy's Dad - with Tyler spontaneously racing back to Dimmsdale to marry his high school sweetheart and hopefully open a dance studio with her, and all those two lovebirds like to do is dance around when they're together and that's big "cartoon parent" energy and I love that - and Viv is Timmy's younger cousin by 5 years. The name I gave Timmy's Dad also starts with a T, so I think Tyler is a great name for him.

I've outlined WIPs for stories about Timmy's extended family (both sides), and Viv might get mentioned a few times if I ever decide to go through with those pieces, but Roy probably not since they're stepsiblings.

I love Timmy as much as any FOP fan - he's a good boy - but his suburban life doesn't capture my imagination as much as the Pixie lifestyle and Anti-Fairy government and all the magical politics, so we probably won't see them in my 'fics, and I don't have a lot to say about Viv or Roy because I haven't seen them in a long time and only scratched the surface.

That said, I did appreciate how Timmy and Viv had a close relationship and I thought Roy was hilarious. Refusing to fix your broken leg because "I'll do it later" and then refusing to fix it because "You'll wish to be away from me" was so funny and I ended up watching the pilot twice just for that. I really liked him.

Nishiki is self serving (after Yuko's death) while Saejima did everything for his boss (more or less the progression of others than himself). there's definitely a clash of ideals there. a post y1 Nishiki would end up feeling guilty for all the harm he caused to ascend the Tojo ranks and perhaps make Saejima wonder if he'd do the same if his loyalty to the clan or others forced his hand. he sees in Nishiki who he could have been, perhaps, if he let clan standing overcome his empathy. Nishiki sees in Saejima a kind soul, one he sees similar to Kiryu, but different enough to understand his situation more than Kiryu ever could. there’s a lot of regret between them, regardless.

on the fun ish side I think they'd talk about their sisters a lot lol. stupid dumb shit they would do together, sibling nonsense, that sort of thing. it's a sad time reminiscing about the past but it's comforting to both that they're just trying to be good big bros even if it meant doing terrible things. it's not an excuse but they understand each other’s intent. since I have Yasuko live, I can see Nishiki taking to her very well, trying his best to do right by a new sibling. I can see her getting along with him, doing girl™ shit with him that Saejima wouldn't be into, more civilian things that maybe she hadn’t had the opportunity to really indulge in. helps that she would be likely very accepting of him since she racked up a kill count for the sake of Saejima herself.

Nishiki would definitely struggle trying to be himself in front of Saejima, that is, someone who's sensitive. Saejima's a huge imposing guy. don't wanna be a wimp around him, you know? but Saejima makes it okay. maybe Saejima cries about something, maybe Yasuko, maybe the Hit, the nightmares. shows Nishiki a man's not less than for being emotional. and Nishiki would care. he's not some silent onlooker, he's experienced the same thing. and sometimes it helps to cry together. Saejima isn't Kiryu. and that makes it easier, to let it out with someone who doesn't know you so deeply that they try to offer answers. sometimes you don't want answers, you just want someone there and Saejima is very good at just being there. he's been there by himself for 25 years.

Nishiki's a materialistic sorta dude while Saejima's down to earth. the things they both want are opposites but it's a delicate balance that's fun for them to maintain. Nishiki wants a cool statue for the house so Saejima carves one so Nishiki doesn't have to buy it. Saejima likes simple meals and Nishiki's a decent cook who's done it plenty for his sister when she was sick + is worldly enough to prolly know the best mom and pop places in town. Nishiki's a big spender but Saejima keeps him humble. Saejima's a stickler for a cheaper lifestyle but Nishiki helps him learn to live again and enjoy things rather than just survive.

when it comes to the kazumaji duo, they're just happy to see their kyōdai happy. Nishiki's likes seeing Kiryu with someone just as weird as he is and coming out of his shell and Saejima's glad to know someone else can put up with Majima lmao. they would share all the bro stories with each other to Kiryu's distress and Majima's denial. they revel in being pains in their asses and it helps that Nishiki can rely on Saejima to keep Majima tempered when he’s being a prick.

WELCOME TO THE NORTHWIND ASKBLOG!

Northwind is a crossover AU of Sky: Children of the Light and Underhero, that I've been working on for fun for a while now. Originally, it was just a fanfiction I was writing, but I eventually realized that my writing wasn't keeping up with how much of it I wanted to share...

Soooo, I made an askblog. Without knowing much about how Tumblr works. It's a learning experience!

Now, first of all, the source material. I'm assuming most people on this blog are either my friends, or came here for Sky content, so in the case of the latter- Underhero's an indie platformer rpg about a monster who killed the hero. It's pretty neat. Means a lot to me.

Anyways, a brief-ish summary of the AU.

STORY SUMMARY

After killing Puzzleman, the Masked Kid (named Winter in this story) starts to walk into the void of the Endzone- However, a bright light pulls them to somewhere else entirely, and next thing they know, they wake up in Skyworld (as so creatively named by the Skykids. I'm sure the Ancestors had a cooler name for it.)

Upon waking up in the Daylight Prairie, Winter meets a skykid named Lanius, who becomes both their guide through this new world, and a good friend. Winter’s confusion at the way this world works is misunderstood as them being a moth (the Skykid term for "hasn't existed for very long), and they're a bit too nervous to admit that they literally just Aren't From This Universe. After a brief "detour" through the Isle of Dawn (they got lost), Lani and Winter meet Goggles, a more experienced Skykid who tags along with them every now and again.

Together, the duo-slash-trio travel through the world, learning plenty about eachother and the world around them- As the journey goes on, though, Winter begins to doubt whether they really want to go home, slowly realizing that they're much happier in Skyworld than they had ever been back home- All while a mysterious light appears in the Masked Kid's dreams again and again, providing as much mystery as it does comfort.

At the end of their journey, Winter and Lanius arrive in Eden- A terrifying wasteland full of darkness. Though they both wish to turn back, something about this place seems to pull Lanius further in, and Winter refuses to leave their side- Even when it ends in both of their deaths. For Lanius, this isn't a problem, as death isn't permanent for Skykids. Winter, though, would have died for good, if it weren't for Lanius desperately dragging Winter's soul through the afterlife, begging Megabird, the goddess of rebirth and the afterlife, to save their friend.

And she did, though just barely- Unable to directly bring the masked kid back to life, she did the only thing she could, essentially turning Winter into a Skykid. Before she sent the duo back down, though, she asked one thing of Lanius- To eventually, when they were ready, return to Eden, and to bring Winter when they did. And though it took Winter some time to get used to their new form (which wasn't much different, to be honest- The Light stuff was just a lot to get used to all at once), they later returned as promised.

The trip through Eden was far less dramatic this time around, and, upon reaching the Afterlife, Winter recognized Megabird as the light from their dreams- She had been observing the duo, both confused by and concerned for the newcomer in her realm. Megabird is quick to tell Winter that they are completely welcome to remain in this world, and quicker to consider them to be one of her own children. The duo linger in the afterlife for a while- Long enough for Winter to spend time with their new adoptive mother, and for the both of them to get some well deserved rest- Before returning to the living world, safe and sound.

As for Atlas, well... This is long enough as is. Didn't mean for that to happen. I'll answer any questions about the Atlas situation if you ask.

The first Skykid Winter met! They've stuck by his side ever since that fateful day.

Expert on survival... Which is concerning, considering how peaceful this world is.

Was stuck in the Golden Wasteland for about a year. They’re still a bit shaken from that...

Said experience has left them a bit... Wonky. Specifically, they can't store as much light as most other Skykids. It’s not that bad, but they’re frail and tire out easily.

Absolute sweetheart and a joy to be around. They’re cheerful, try and help everyone they meet, and generally very sweet.

Very quiet- They talk a lot, but their voice just... rests at a very low volume

Winter

He/Him, They/Them

Not from Skyworld! No, really- They’re the Masked Kid from Underhero. Told ya this was a crossover. (Ellie's with him, don't worry.)

Chose to stay here after reaching the Vault. He's happier in Skyworld, after all.

Ended up as a Skykid after a close call in Eden. They almost permanently died, but Lanius managed to drag his soul all the way to Megabird and asked her to help him.

Still learning the ropes of being a Skykid. They’re not really the best flier. Or... Skykid-er.

Has a silly little tail. This isn't debatable.

Has been in Skyworld for a little less than half a year now.

Has trouble standing up for himself, and easily caves into other's demands.

The King. Really. Y'know, that kid you see after you die in Eden.

Was saved from Purgatory by Winter! (I'm still working out how.)

Has a habit of slipping "Thou"s and "Thee"s and stuff into their sentences. He doesn't really notice.

Childhood friend of the Valley Elders! They go to the Valley temple to talk to 'em at LEAST once a week.

Newest member of the group. Still learning the ropes of how Skyworld is nowadays.

Never really got to experience being an actual kid- They were barely past being a moth when they did the Trials. They only did the trials because it sounded fun.

HATES being referred to as royalty.

Megabird

She/Her, They/Them, It/Its

Yeah, that's... That's Megabird. That's literally God.

She's not actually a member of the group, but she checks in on them (in their dreams) a lot, since her only ADOPTED kid AND the kid she lost a few thousand years ago are there.

Absolutely WONDERFUL mother, and tries her best to be present in her childrens lives- Even if just through their dreams.

Never actually intended for Skykids to go through Eden. They go through Eden anyways, since it's a direct path to visit her.

Gets emotional easily, and cries often. Over good AND bad things.

A little bit silly at times, even if just for her kids sakes. She's a good mama!

I do hope that you don’t mind if I did this OT4+1-ish, the idea sparked and then it wouldn’t leave. At all…it demanded!

You were trained not to panic, you were trained to stay calm in any situation that involved harm to yourself or your companions. You remain calm when you had sprained your wrist after yourself and your mount had fallen during an attack. You remained calm when you had jumped before that needle spray. You remained calm when your right side as pierced in confusion training when you had to assist with taking down a recruit.

So why was your body now attempting to make you cry, and shake?

You knew why you knew exactly why but you couldn’t allow that to happen. You had to brave, you had to be strong, you had to be calm for them.

While out on a hunt, the five of you had been surrounded by a group of deamons. Confusing as it was still very much bright outside. You had managed to dodge the spew that it tossed out, but your friends not so lucky.

They had begun to react to whatever this stuff was almost immediately, and as the healer of the group, you decided to actually put your authority for your position and call a tactical retreat. Nearly halfway back to the campsite, Noctis had passed out, Gladiolus not far after him. They were the ones in the main line of fire.

“Iggy, I hate to ask this, but can you please help with Gladdy.” You called, as Prompto helped you support Noctis.

You wanted to run back to the tent, but both Prompto and Ignis looked even worse. You had managed to get within the ruins before you had lost Prompto, and Ignis managed to help you get Gladiolus in before he fainted beside the big guy. That was fine enough, you could move Prompto and Noctis easily unlike the taller duo.

As your hands went to adjust them better, you jumped back, whatever they were covered in was starting to burn. With quick apologies to their unconscious bodies, you began to strip them, running out to the campfire, as you tossed them in. You’d apologize for the clothes but figured they’d much prefer being alive rather than have serious burns.

As you scrubbed them down with a few water bottles you had lying around, you found yourself starting to lose the tension within your shoulders and hands, as you found there didn’t appear to be lasting damage.

Until you heard Noctis cough.

You pulled out your phone, searching through your Monster Encyclopedia, it was a type of Malboro, the acid was supposed to aid in eating your friends, it had a 99.99% survival rate, but the symptoms lasted 48 hours, and could cause hallucinations and fever.

“You’ll be fine guys.” You cooed, pulling their sleeping bags over them. Leaning forward to remove Ignis’s glasses.

It was going to be a long 48 hours.

“Easy Gladdy.” You called, only 2 hours into this and the sun was just starting to set. The big guy was getting frustrated in his sleep and didn’t seem to enjoy whatever dream he was having.  You surrounded your hand with an ice spell, placing it on his head, only to smile as he calmed down. “You’ve gotta keep the covers on big guy, you have to sweat this out.”

“Y/N?”

You turned, smiling at Ignis he was slipping in an out of sleep, the guy never knew how to rest, “You thirsty Iggy? I don’t think you boys should stomach food until your stomachs settle.” You replied, the fresh memory of you shoving Prompto’s head into a bucket to avoid him throwing up over his sleeping bag again. Then again Prompto did have a weak stomach without being sick.

“If you’d be so kind.”

“Anything for you.” You cooed.

Eight more hours passed, as you figured they were out the worst of it, Noctis’s cough had stopped, Prompto managed to force down some crackers and ginger ale, and didn’t cough it back up. Ignis finally slept for more than twenty minutes at a time, and Gladiolus had stopped shiver.

You sat outside the flap of the tent, keeping it slightly unzipped so that they got some fresh air. You knew that you wouldn’t get much sleep tonight and would be up most of the evening to make certain they were fine.

You must have dozed slightly, cause next you recall was your head snapping up as you turned hearing a weak cry in the tent. You slowly crawled into the tent, eyes focusing on Noctis as he gave a slight trash, he was already prone to nightmares, so this poison running through his system more than likely wasn’t helping.

Crawling over Ignis, you maneuvered Noctis’s head to your lap, stroking back his sweat-soaked hair, performing another ice spell to try and get the fever that spike back up. A soft hum in your chest, it often caused the Prince to calm down from his other nightmares. Luckily it was working this time as well, he always liked the song despite how sad it made you feel.

“I won’t cry, I won’t cry

No, I won’t shed a tear

Just as long as you stand, stand by me”

You turned seeing Prompto grasp for something, he and Gladiolus were the biggest cuddlers of the group, which was often why they slept near each other, but having both of them bundled so tightly to sweat out the gunk more than likely didn’t help their urges.

Placing Noctis down softly you moved over to the two of them resting a hand on their chest, rubbing a circle. There was no potion or medication you could provide but you could give them comfort.

Well into the second day, you hadn’t gotten a wink of sleep, but by that evening the boys were able to sit up and actually stomach food enough to eat.

“Here, it’s just chicken soup, I’m not Iggy but you should be able to keep it down.” You replied, handing out bowls.

“It tastes awesome.” Prompto cooed.

You sat cross-legged in the tent, happy to see that they had gotten their color back, and with a good nights sleep they should hopefully be back to hundred.

“Have you gotten sleep, Y/N?” Ignis inquired.

You waved it off, “I’m fine. From what I read, you guys should be fine by tomorrow. So rest up, I’ll take care of everything.”

With fevers down, and stomachs actually feeling fine you laid them back for the night. Hoping that the would get some actual sleep tonight. You moved to sit outside the tent again, looking to the night sky. You felt so silly, but you realized what the problem was and why you panicked so much when they were hurt.

Most things couldn’t drag the Prince from his sleep but nightmares like this could. As of late, they would quickly disappear, still, his eyes were drawn across the tent when he heard Prompto whine. More than likely being cuddled by Gladiolus too roughly, he moved to lay back down, only to hear Ignis huff, and then one from Gladiolus too. Were they having nightmares too?

Y/N did mention that that stuff could do this.

Noctis hummed slightly at that, his nightmares didn’t happen too often now, when things got too bad in his dreams he’d feel a comfort and then the familiar scent of your lotion. He had started to drift again when he felt that comforting hand on his head, and that soft lullaby, only this time it wasn’t the normal one you sang.

What is this hollow kind of helplessness I’m feeling?

This type of terror is new

And the fact that I can hardly breathe is now revealing

How much I’ve changed ‘cause of you

Noctis tried not to show that he was awake, but a soft whine did leave him, as you moved over to Ignis, then Prompto and Gladiolus. Storking their head, as you softly sung the song for them.  

You must not have been exhausted as you hadn’t realized that the others were also slowly coming out of their rest to listen to the lullaby.

You light the world for me

As sleep came over the four men it dawned on them.

That was it…

You jumped back as the bacon popped grease, “How does Iggy do this at like 6 in the morning?” You huffed.

You never took the others for granted, but you were honestly missing them right now. Your banter with Prompto and Noctis, Ignis’s actual cooking that wasn’t just toast, eggs, and bacon, Gladiolus being able to help move the heavier items around camp.

“I have it.”

You nearly jumped from your skin, as you felt a hand on your own, “Iggy.”

“Please have a seat, you’ve done enough.” Ignis smiled.

“No, no you just got better.” You attempted to argue.

“Gladio, if you wouldn’t mind.”

You hadn’t even heard the big guy, until his hands were on your hips, picking you up and moving you to the chairs, plopping you down.

“When’s the last time you’ve been sleep?” Gladiolus asked standing before you.

“I got some sleep last night.” You replied, only to find the guy leaning into your personal space, not uncommon for your group of friends. “What?”

Gladiolus gave you a boyish smile, “Never realized how cute you look in the morning.”

The thought hardly register, before you felt him press a kiss to your forehead, something you had done last night to him while you thought he was sleeping. You went to retort but Ignis was already requesting his assistance with plating the food. Only to be brought back to reality when you felt Prompto hug you tightly,  also not uncommon.

“Morning Sunshine, hows your tummy?” You smiled, moving to grab his extra pills you held on your person.

“Much better cause of our white mage.” Prompto beamed, as you handed him the pills. “You’re the best, Y/N.”

You froze again, as you felt Prompto press a kiss to your cheek. Hardly hearing Ignis call for Prompto to wake Noctis.

“Here you are.” Ignis smiled, handing you a plate that looked nothing like what you were preparing. “You haven’t been eating the last few days, I hope this makes it better.”

“Thanks Iggy.” You called, he almost always gave you food first, even with Noctis at your side.

“My pleasure.” He replied, pressing a quick kiss to your forehead.

“This looks awesome Iggy.”

“I’m starving!”

You were honestly on autopilot eating your food, you could taste it but why were they exchanging kisses that you gave them last night? Only for you to turn as Noctis muttered walking out the tent, despiting sleeping for almost 48 hours he was still a lump.

“Morning Noct.” You flushed, as he pressed a quick kiss to your cheek, before flopping back into the seat. “Wait! Wait! What is going on here?”

“Is something the matter, Y/N?” Ignis asked, taking his seat beside you.

“I just, what?” You tried to explain, and keeping yourself from getting overheated and dropping your food. “What is going on, I don’t understand…the kisses…I mean I like them…but,”

“You sure you didn’t catch what we had?” Gladiolus chuckled.

“Maybe we should rest another day,” Prompto replied.

“You have not been resting well while taking care of us. You should rest in the car, I’m certain Noct and Gladio won’t mind you stretching out.” Ignis stated. “Besides you deserve a hotel.”

“Yeah maybe.” You replied you had been breathing in the fumes of the bile, and maybe tossing the bile sick clothes within the fire wasn’t your best idea, plus you had touched the bile quite a bit when handling the guys.

Within an hour, you had returned back to your journey, and fine with the fact that your four boys were healthy and ready to roll, your body finally allowed for you to sleep. As your head nodded forward, you hardly heard Ignis’s voice.

“Gladio, please catch Y/N.” Ignis called.

“Here she can use my jacket,” Prompto stated.

You felt yourself be moved across the seat and the soft lull of a heartbeat under your ear as Prompto covered you with his jacket.

“Here.”

“Awe you can be nice.” Gladiolus chuckled.

“Shut up.”

You spared a smile, but just before you drifted off, you knew that you didn’t imagine it, one of them was humming the song from last night.

An LSE Journey Essay

Looking deep into ourselves to find our real motivation can be hard especially when everything around us have been going by in a blur. Our true purpose, should we ever find it early, tend to get lost somewhere between making a living, paying the bills, raising kids and running a hundred different errands. Before you know it, you're well into your middle age and wondering where did the last 10 years go. It is in this age that I started to question what my endgame is.  

I was born in the North to Ilocano parents, raised in Metro Manila and educated in both private and government institutions.  I majored in Architecture but majority of my work is in another discipline.  For the past 13+ years in Singapore, I worked, and mostly enjoyed, working in Civil Engineering specifically in Geotech where we do a lot of underground works for tunnels and transport structures.  Such a badass feeling for a female to actually do this in a predominantly male field! I left the Philippines not because there was a pressing need to provide. On the contrary, I have a stable but boring job in the city. I was surprised when I got the call from a foreign headhunter that, at the prospect of new adventures and since there's nothing to lose (they paid for all the expenses anyway), I relented and went along to see where'd I'd end up. Fortunately, fate has been good. 

Being a migrant worker for most of my youth can be quite unsettling.  I have all the time in the world in a new environment full of possibilities, earning a decent disposable income and not saddled with pressing responsibilities. When you're new in a foreign land, the allure of all things shiny are very tempting. It's these times that I went on a spree, a moderate one by standard, but to an Ilocano it's a spree nonetheless.  Year in and out, I accumulated stuff that I liked and like to share with my family. But as my belongings grew and lugging them from one rental house to the next becomes harder, I thought "there must be more to gain in living here than this".  

Enter social media.

I spent numerous hours scrolling, clicking and just wasting time away but it's an upside that I saw an A-LSE sponsored seminar on one of the shared posts. At this point I'm already indoctrinated in the concept of financial management by another OFW (also an admirable Fin-Lit and Social Enterprise advocate) and seeing the A-LSE program page with all the bright faces of the students, my curiosity was piqued. What is this group that makes people come together and learn new stuff to improve themselves? The FOMO (fear of missing out) is strong and I had to join in on the fun. I finally got in a year after putting my name down on the waiting list.

 And so, the grind begins.

 The program started with self-introspection -- who are you, what makes you get up in the morning, what's your mission -- its wading at the rubbish and finding the bits that radiate sunshine. It's the equivalent of doing the Marie-Kondo in your life and removing the clutter.

As a parent, my goal is to give my child the tools and opportunities that will enable him to achieve good things in life. Not great, but good. I can only lead him to the starting line, I will leave it up to him to finish it in ways he sees fit.  Of course, to be able to do that I will need the financial capacity to provide for his primary needs but also to be there emotionally to support and guide him in his decisions. My goal is to show him the dignity in working and the joy of doing good, to impart the values I've learned from my parents, to have fun and appreciate the arts.

As a sibling, my goal to help them finish their tertiary education has been fulfilled. My siblings are now enjoying their chosen professions and has now embarked on new pursuits to ascend to the next level. Next is to help them map out their financial plans for the future -- that's a tactic to make them financially independent and not borrow money from me.

As a daughter, my goal is to see my parents enjoy the latter years of their lives and to help them come into terms that they need to step back and let their children take on the responsibilities on managing their estate.

As a person, my goal to become an instrument of change in however small way I can manage. Running for public office seems the easiest route but as I have no death wish and plan to live a longer-ish life, that's a no-go for me.

My goal is to achieve financial independence in the next decade, to establish my own enterprise, have enough to sustain my health coverage and retirement in the later years and leave a worthy legacy to my family. Lastly, I want to travel every year or every other year to places that are culturally rich and ‘gram worthy.

The 10 sessions have brought immense knowledge and insight about the core competencies of the LSE program. Journals have been written to provide a deeper insight for each session.

For Leadership, I find Tina Liamson's lecture on Migration & Principles of Leadership enlightening. The most fascinating has got to be from Dr. Juan Kanapi's Appreciative Inquiry. This is the first time I've heard of it and it's quite difficult to grasp the idea and can be easily confused with positivity. But at the end, It shows that if practiced AI is not just mind tricks but a powerful tool in realising your full potential.

The best lectures for Financial Literacy are the split sessions of Vince Rapisura and Edwin Salonga. (Edwin's lecture is about Social Entrepreneur but I remembered a lot more on his lecture about Finances, hence…) Who knew studying finance concepts could be this good? And most definitely not boring! I now have a deeper understanding about managing my finances better and learning that my current insurance is shit, which I really need to rectify soon. I can't tell you enough how the things I've learned from these wonder duos are gold. Call me by any other name (read: biased), but Ed's lecture is my most favourite of the lot.

The Social Entrepreneurship sessions have the most gravitas for these lectures carry the main core of the program. They're not all boring, mind you, but can be a bit challenging. The lectures on this series provided many useful tips for future entrepreneurial endeavors and is a big help in formulating our business plan. Other insights for the SE series can be read here and here.

At every journal writing, I try to reflect on what I've learned and think of ways to apply them in my daily life.  Most often I find things and events that need to be tweaked or heavily redesigned in order for it to be aligned with my future goals. Most pressing of these are the consolidation of my assets and liabilities, and making a clear plan on mapping out my finances that will include my son's future education.  The next point is to work on myself and how I carry myself as a leader starting at home. What better place to practice than to apply these learning in the household first? Hopefully, I will be able to improve my inability to forge meaningful connections to people by the time I have to build my own enterprise. I am not aspiring to be Miss Friendship, I'm ok with Miss Effective Boss or even Miss Influencer-For-The-Greater-Good. Tall order, I know, but we're allowed to dream and dreaming is free.

Joining the program made me realise the answer to my question, "So what happens now?" 

During my first few years as a migrant worker, my goal is to save so I can buy gadgets to connect me home. After having a mobile phone, a laptop and the ability to call home any time, ano na? As I enter my 14th year of being a migrant, I've somewhat been able to achieve the things I hoped for. Not the millions of dollars in bank account **fingers crossed**, but a comfortable life. But that restlessness persists. Learning that there are available avenues to pursue these in the Philippines is a big help in making me step into the right direction closer to the things I wanted to become. Programs like these give hope.  With that, I realise that there is more I can do back home than where I am currently at. I have the knowledge; I can share it -- starting with a small group of like-minded people who are willing to help themselves. Acquiring and sharing knowledge is free so I may as well start with that. 

All the sessions have been audio recorded and kept in a cloud that I shared with family members. Many of the things Dr. Kanapi said are the things I so want to say to my father. Sharing it is just a click away, let him hear it straight from the board-certified horse's mouth.  

I also plan to lead the residents in our small sitio towards a better understanding of financial management which can be instrumental in their livelihood. These people have been known in the family for decades. They have worked alongside our grandparents in tilling the land and their children continues to do so. While there have been advancements in their lives, I believe there is more to be done -- better education for their children/grandchildren, opening bank accounts, accessing government programs, using tech etc. I am excited to share with them the different concepts we have learned in the program, and also a good training ground for me to improve my leadership skills.

I highly commend the A-LSE program for striving to make the Filipino Migrant Workers' quest for relevancy and better lives. Much appreciation to A-LSE founding Team and the current secretariat who makes it run smoothly. The past month has been very trying but everyone has been great in providing feedback and extending their hands.  For that, a big Salute! to everyone -- for the team and the speakers who traverse the globe every year. 

As a program alumnus, I will most definitely uphold the values of the LSE in the best way that I possibly can. Sadly, my physical involvement with the LSE will not extend to the volunteer work for the next batch as  I have made plans for the next year that will make it impossible to fulfill my duties on the site . However, I am willing to extend my skill/expertise in whatever way I can as long as it is done remotely.
