all 3 minisodes are about ... humans dying and being brought back to life, or more like, how that is not possible...and how Heaven and Hell have worked around that

In A Companion to Owls, Job kids never died even when they should have, Heaven didn't know enough to distinguish that they were the same children and Sitis quickly got that the miracle was... that their children didn't die to begin with. Once they are dead it is game over and Crowley and Aziraphale refused to let them die

In The Resurrectionists (it is literally called The Resurrectionists!!) and it is how one girl is shot and they can't do anything once she is dead. And Crowley still goes off of his way to make sure the other one doesn't kill herself, risking everything. And we know hell's extreme sanctions are probably what makes him ask for insurance, for holy water. On the other hand, this episode is called The ResurrectionistS, plural, but we meet only one of them ..while in the other side of the sign is Christ himself.

THEN in 1941, we have ZOMBIES, the literal living dead walking around, and Furfur states that he can't make them living people again due to a clause and just leave them as zombies to roam the earth. We see how cursed they are, rotting and bound to eat brains but not human.

EVEN! From episode 1, we get a big Clue: miracles are measured in lazarii, and resurrecting someone is no easy feat. They were telling us to watch out about coming back to life... and how only the mightiest of archangels are able to use that amount of power (or an angel and a demon holding hands...)

and I do want to point out that part of the things Gabriel remembered was this line

Job kids didn't die, in victorian england Wee Morag died falling in the hands of a resurrectionist, and the Germans died and came back- just not quite alive. Every day it is getting closer,

... they are telling us that the second coming is afoot, but they are also showing us that there is no second opportunity on this earth. Once you are dead, you are dead.

and Crowley, in the direst time when Aziraphale is breaking his little demonic heart, says

And now, the plan to resurrect one human to make the end of the world happen is in Aziraphale's hands.

look I know we love Mav (and his relationship with Bradley) but I genuinely love thinking about how he fucked Bradley up for life, and how Top Gun: Maverick is an amazing example of how you can love someone so much, but so wrongly. (It mildly baffles me when people talk about Bradley going no contact as being an overreaction because he absolutely deserved to kick Mav out of his life).

The ghosts of Nick and Carole Bradshaw haunt the narrative relationship between Mav and Bradley. When he sees him again for the first time, he doesn't think of a memory of just Bradley, he thinks of one with all the Bradshaws, and it shows where he's at when it comes to his relationship with Bradley. He's an extension of Mav's relationship with his parents—and it's Bradley who reaps the consequences of Mav's unresolved trauma about Goose's death.

What does it feel like to be 17-18 years old and told by your father figure that you can't follow in his (or your biological father's) footsteps. What does it feel like when nearly everyone you'd ever admired was this Thing but YOU alone weren't good enough?

This doesn't even take into account that he takes it a step further and pulls your application. He doesn't say sorry, and he doesn't say it years later, and in fact will double down on how you're not ready, and then tells all your peers that it all depends on the pilot and YOU don't cut it...

and you're meant to be well adjusted after all that? Trust your instincts when you've been led to believe you weren't actually good enough for all this in the first place?

they r under a lifelong ban from being on the same mission squad if discretion is needed. too much whispering sweet nothings over the comms mid-op like “watch your six, babe <3” “only if you watch mine 😘.” and once kai saw jay get grabbed and yelled “GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY BOYFRIEND” at full volume. stealth mission failed instantly and zane logged the audio as evidence mad as hell

and whenever kai gets even slightly injured on a mission jay is at his side in seconds like full medic mode. he knows little to nothing about first aid (or actually no realistically of course he does but in moments of panic it all goes out the window) but that has not stopped him once . “Guys please. back off. i got this.” he’s up next to kai gently cupping his face like baby please stay with me. And everyone’s at the other end like ? because it’s a scraped knee

OKAY WAIT this is SOOOOO SPECIFIC and pre relationship but during their whole pr era dareth is like “ok you two! are gonna do a little school visit. sign some autographs. smile and wave. don’t ruin this for me.” and they’re like yeah yeah whatever. but then they show up and it’s a bunch of tiny kids who made little cardboard ninja stars and painted the gym with construction paper flames and lightning bolts and they both malfunction a little bit

and like . kai’s doing his Cool Guy thing . flips and fire whatever. the kids are like 🧎‍♂️🧎‍♂️🧎‍♂️ .meanwhile jay hacks the vending machine so it gives them free snacks forever and gets tackled by hugs . U best believe he’s holding back tears

one kid’s like “soooo are you guys best friends?” and jay says YES instantly and kai goes “uh. i guess” while turning away because he’s smiling too hard

and OF COURSEREWEEWE they get made to do the trust fall thing. jay doesn’t even blink just throws himself backwards like “he’ll catch me. he always does.” and kai does. stands there holding him like blushing and they have a Moment in front of a bunch of sixth graders. Rlly humiliating

And at some point kai has that terrible cliche romcom moment where he’s watching jay joking around with the kids and laughing like full smile eyes crinkled and he just kind of stops for a sec like “oh. oh no he’s really cute. oh no he’s great with kids. Even tho he’s already zapped one and tripped over another. they love him and i do too. i’m so fucked.”

Long ask person back again felt like I should defend the actress a bit cus despite her character clearly being used as respite to provide thirsty s2 Rafe fans with a female love interest they can impress upon imo I think technically Fiona is a really good actress and probably, no offence, better than most main pougues cast. She’s really great in that proposal scene. The issue is Sofia and Rafe are really wooden and ironically I think Drew’s holding back in his Rafe scenes. Given how he has goo goo eyes for Barry and even Kie on occasion (can some of you tell I just watched the latest ep of severance) he seems flat when looking and talking to Sofia. Maybe it’s cus Rafe’s stable, maybe he doesn’t know how to act so he’s robotic cus he’s struggling acting normal. He’s a character who’s most passionate when angry or upset. So his flatness during the proposal was jarring. It just feels like this is an attempt to mimic a relationship on his part and given how I think he feels for her it makes sense if he’s using her. So maybe drew does it on purpose idk I just get that she like him and he’s not keen which tanks the chemistry. 2/2

i agree, wooden is a great way to put their interactions. and that her introduction was part of the absurd “fanfic-ification” of rafe cameron that even i can’t deny lol
