Sokka is a reporter who goes undercover to expose a shady company no one can seem to get evidence on, and all witnesses disappear. After getting a job in the office, he decides the best way to gather intel is use his charming personality to get close to the owner's son, Zuko.

He realizes Zuko's struggling with his father's expectations and the bad things the company does. He's torn on what he was raised to believe and his growing morals, but he stays at the company because he cares about the people he works with and there's a part of him still wanting his father's approval.

Sokka ends up working directly with him, and the two get close, and he...accidentally falls for him. Surely that won't make dismantling this company complicated, right?

Finished the game couple of days ago and had some thoughts I needed to process a little. Like. Yes.

So anyway I actually didn't plan this and just wanted to redraw some sprites to just make sure I understand how to draw Siffrin correctly (still working on that!)

What did I learn from this? How fun it it to draw on a canvas that literally doesn't let you draw with colors without some layer cheating when necessary. Never tried it.

James always ends up loving people more than he should. He has so much love to give, it overflows into the next jar and the person would usually walk away. When he loved Lily, it was a lot. When he didn’t, his love for her as a friend was a lot too, but it was the perfect amount of a lot.

However, when James fell in love with Regulus, he realised his love wasn’t a lot at all. It was perfect. He never felt that empty feeling he used to when he was in love with someone, because what James had measured in quantity, Regulus had offered in time.

Regulus’ love had been there for so long, the glass overflowed into an ocean and James was a thirsty man in a desert, beggin for a drop of water. He thrived under this love, all while sharing this ocean with each other so Regulus didn’t drown in the depths of it.

Maybe that's why the salty water of the ocean became so sweet.

jing yuan, who loves when you’re wearing his clothes, and you return them to him. it’s so domestic and simple but he craves it. (gn reader, not a serious drabble.) reader is characterized as smaller than jy, interpret as you wish.

The clothes smell like you, of course. The laundry detergent you bought, your shampoo and the little scent beads you like to put in the washing machine. He doesn’t mind the musk that lingers on his old shirts after you clean the whole house, no of course not. Jing Yuan adores smelling your musk, lotion and conditioner melding together and melting into his shirt.

You go out to buy new scent beads every other month, a tiny little jar of them. Jing Yuan swears to anyone who listens that you’re doing this on purpose. Mixing your shampoo and lotion to match with the scent beads, changing the fabric softener to mess with his head (and laundry). He laments this to Fu Xuan, Qingzu, and Yanqing, who all beg you to stick to one routine before the General loses his sanity (of course, everyone groans and ignores him. they’ve had enough of his marital escapades, and they just tell him to marry you again if he’s this smitten. Thus, after a decade of marriage, Jing Yuan has rewritten his vows.) He likes these little variances in his routine, the little harmless surprise that keeps him on his toes.

(He swears it's just because you picked it out. You know it's because it reminds him that there's finally a home for him to return to.)

"I'm back, do you know what the others said during the meeting, they were planning on handing off more paperwork, but I insisted mimi and you would--" He stops in his tracks. This must be unfair. Divine Punishment? Did he anger Lan? his ancestors?

Jing Yuan sees you wearing nothing but some socks, his shorts and t-shirt (both of which hang off of your smaller frame). He runs over, pace quickening.

You yelp quietly, backing away before he pounces onto you, bearing all of his weight onto you. He can't help it, you're so cute wearing his outfit, doing laundry and making dinner.

“You smell so good.” he buries his face into your neck, inhaling the sun on your skin, lotion he bought for you, and the conditioner you've taken from his stash.

“And you smell icky.” You push him off gently, but his arms only tighten. He just got back from work, and he reeks of sweat. But you can’t ignore how your heart races whenever he gets up to these antics, and you can’t help but indulge in his whims. 

This is a regular habit. He barely removes his armor before running to you, and clings to you like a sullen child, asking about dinner and how his darling and mimi have been. You can only sigh and pat his head while he recharges in your lap (or, in Yanqing’s words: naps.) 

"thank you, for everything," He whispers into your ear, "You're doing great, sweetheart."

a/n: I was talking to a coworker abt how the only thing that brings me joy now is a 2d man (jy) and buying new scent beads/laundry scent boosters or sample perfume. then I had this idea. also that ending bit :,) sending good vibes to all with my first fic of the new yr!

just thought i’d point this out: just before neil dies, there’s a shot that pans from a painting on mr perry side table to him sleeping

this painting is titled “The Red Boy”

the sitter was a young boy, Charles William Lambton, who later died at the age of 13 from tuberculosis, but the painting now stands to represent a young boy on the verge of “life”, becoming an adult, being the heir to his fathers title. but his life was cut short, just before he was able to actually grow up and live. as a result of this, his younger brother become went on to inherit everything…got to live.

i guess what i’m saying here is that this symbolises neil as a person, as a character, as a piece in the puzzle of life…he died so others - his friends, todd - could live. they only fully grasped what is what to live, and how to choose life over tradition, after his death.

everything in dps is intentional.

also if think this painting is similar to the one in the hall at the beginning of the film, where one boy is looking up, and the other is looking down. it’s kind of mirroring it - people have said that the boy looking down is neil and the one looking up is todd - and now, here is a painting of this boy looking up, neil looking up, to what he could have in life, to what living would be like. neil has learnt how to finally live and not follow his fathers rules and expectations like he had done in the beginning, which meant his life was cut short, but not before he experienced what it would’ve been like.

also the fact that the shot panned from the painting to mr perry could suggest that he was that boy, whose idea of living was cut short by whatever circumstances to he had passed the expectations and legacy that he could’ve had onto neil, expecting him to become the person he couldn’t be.
