do you ever hear the phrase "I was so scared of wasting a day that I nearly wasted my life" and have it haunt you for a month
there are so many times I've felt like I simply lost years, and you'll finally do something and realize you spent six months saying "I should do that soon" without doing anything or "I should get back to that" each day for months on end
#this post is primarily about a mix of gender and writing stuff#but there's also a lot recently where I've felt like I came to thinking when did it become too late to do anything#I spent the last 8 months unsure what was happening with hrt treatment and it took 10 minutes to get the next process to start happening#instead of waiting unsure#(to be fair my doctor was just On Leave for 4 of those months but still)#and likewise it has been six months since I properly worked on my novel and it kills me inside not doing so#but it's also about like#idk missing people that just kind of drift away and u never really noticed when it just kind of happened and suddenly its been forever#it is a Rough Melancholy Evening#and while this is also celebrating the fact I did get the hrt ball rolling again#and trying to really pump myself up to return to The Shape of a Lie to finish a shareable draft with my friends#I think I spent a lot of July just kind of mourning many months of these things being on standby because I was afraid of wasting a day#and wasted half a year again#anyway love u guys I had a little bit to drink at a work party tonight and it made me sad and reflective lmao <3

Hiya! I’m Bree! I’m a trans-pan foxgirl that hangs out on the internet doin gay stuff! My blog is primarily a random/personal blog, with no real theme other than my love for women and being transfem :3
Here’s a lil’ bit of personal info for y’all to get to know who I am a bit better!
I’m a trans woman! Obviously eheh, which is pretty cool. I take a lot of pride in it honestly.
Despite my general affinity and attraction to women, I am pansexual, which means yes, I find just about any one of any gender attractive, I just have a preference towards women.
I’m a System! Kinda figured some stuff out about myself and had a few lil voices pop in there every now and then. Me, Bree, is still the primary person but there are more bouncing around in there :3 I also have Tara🖤 (tiefling), and Unit🤍 (robotgirthing). ^w^
I have a partner that I love dearly and more than anything in the world. We have a very special and unique bond together and I love them very much. They’ve been in my life shortly after I discovered I was trans, and we’ve been practically married for years now <3
I love my daughters @chair3clarinetist and @roseisagoblin so so much. They’re an integral piece of my life and I’ve felt so complete being their surrogate mom. I’ve never really had a family dynamic or friendship quite like the ones I have with them, and I’m so so happy that they’re in my life. Thanks for making my days ever so brighter my girls 💙💜🩶
I’m a proud foxgirl/puppygirl mix!!! I’m very whiny and needy, and I will bark and make various creature noises at you, so be prepared for that >:3
I don’t really have that much shame about my kinks. This is an 18+ blog so obviously expect adult content.
I have a few hobbies, including playin vidya games. I play a lotta random things, but one of my favorites is Cyberpunk 2077. I also tend to play a lot of survival horror and just survival games in general. Big Resident Evil nerd and Project Zomboid enjoyer. Also very into Fnaf and Cod zombies lore… please ask because I will loredump. In general I just like video games, and am open to try just about anything!!
I’m not the biggest into movies or tv, but I’ve seen my fair share of the popular stuff. Jurassic Park is my all time favorite movie. I’m a big horror movie junkie, Saw, The Thing, and Alien being some of my faves. Arcane Season 1 and She-Ra are also amazing tv shows, which I highly recommend to just about anyone.
I have a few genres of music I’m in love with. I grew up listening to rock/metal and it stuck ever since. Huge A7X fan (minus their nft shilling :/), and Halestorm enjoyer. I also am in love with grunge, Chris Cornell (rip) and Eddie Vedder you have my heart.
I also love making OC’s! I’ve been writing since I was like, 8 years old, and making characters has always been a passion of mine. Lilith and Tara are my main OC’s, and I’ve been creating a large and expansive worldstate involving them and many other characters over the past few years. Please ask me about them and I will give you the loredump!
Pirates are an actual special interest of mine, hence the name. I think the irl history is very interesting, and romanticized pirate media is always fun. I’m always open to learning more, cause being educated is fun!! So please feel free to tell me pirate fun facts and jokes!
uhhhh i think that’s it! I hope y’all like my blog of random gayness and silliness! My dm’s are always open if you have a question or just wanna chat! Love y’all 💙🏳️⚧️

Welcome to my blog! 💫💙
*last updated april 2025
I’m Milo, and I’m 14 as of writing, and currently I love LazyTown and Genshin Impact! Predominantly, my posts will be about oc/si x fo stuff (mostly set in LazyTown and Teyvat), as well as a few others from other franchises every now and then; plus agere (little age 4-8). I’m not suuuper well-versed in kin terminology, but I do kin elves as a species as well as guard dogs (NOT PETRE OR A THERIAN, THOUGH). My posts will be in English, but sometimes there will be other languages mixed in as I am also fluent in Tagalog/Filipino as it was my first language as a kid (don’t worry, I will provide translation!! /gen). I reblog whatever I want, so sorry if this blog gets a lil crowdedddd 🥹🙏 if what I reblog is not of any interest to you, though—
🫐🫐
All my posts I made myself, regardless of content, can be found under #milo everyday. This includes ALL the interests, ALL the stuff, everything. If it’s under here, I most likely made it myself. (NOTE: I NOTICED OTHERS USE THE TAG, AND WILL BE “MOVING” [or rather, also using] #💫 milo everyday!! from this update on. )
Then, there is #tsokolate, reserved for art and anything proper. The choccy milk itself = executed ideas.
And conversely, #le choco powder, for goofy unformed ideas. The powder = the base for the chocolate milk.
There will also be oc/character tags, but I won’t list them because I have new ocs all the time.
YES I NAMED MYSELF AFTER THE BRAND, WHY DO YOU ASK /lh
🫐🫐
I DO tend to use tone tags and exaggerated typing in normal casual conversation, as well as type in all lowercase/all caps and use other effects (whatever I can carry over from Discord, really /hj), due to my own personal issues with conveying and understanding tone over text; so my fellow ND boyos and girlypops and all the other genders, I’ve gotchu! 🫡
🫐🫐
JUST A FAIR WARNING: occasionally, i will swear and/or reblog something potentially mildly political. it’s not my usual stuff, but it’s there because I found it important enough to reblog. I will avoid this as much as possible, though; because the fandoms I’m in are primarily children’s shows + I do age regression to cope so I gotta keep this place relatively clean so anything posted with content like that will be labelled with appropriate content warning tags. Also, I am a minor, and cannot donate to your cause!! I may be able to reblog at the very most, though.
🫐🫐
Free art requests from those I haven’t already known for a while will be turned down, I’m sorry. If I like your oc, I might draw them with or without prompting; but that does NOT guarantee free art for all!
YES, THIS BLOG WILL BE POTENTIALLY CRINGE, I AM A TEENAGER IN AN ONLINE SPACE, but that is okay! My blog is a safe space for that, promise. 💙💙
🫐🫐
What it is NOT a safe space for, though, are listed in my DNI:
Very VERY SERIOUS
Queerphobes (ESPECIALLY transphobes)
Racists/white supremacists/blackwashers (ALL racebending of existing characters with set races is racist, sorry.) < BUT THIS DOESN’T APPLY TO NATLAN OR SUMERU CHARACTERS, THOUGH!! Go bonkers, Hoyo stole their melanin anyway /lh
Ableists (yes, that includes mental disorders too. Asking for what a slur means, I cannot answer for you. Please go look it up yourself or ask someone else.)
Creeps/P3d0$/in general, NSFW accounts (THIS INCLUDES ABDL and DDLG/variants, I do not care if you’re “SFW”, no ABDL account is.)
Proshippers/any variants
Those who intentionally do not tag their posts for triggering content for a wider audience/to hurt people
Anti: yumes/selfshipping, agere/age regression
F/O Doubles for: Albedo Kreideprinz (Genshin Impact, romantic as a boyfriend)
LESS SERIOUS
F/O Doubles for: Sportacus (LazyTown, familial as a father), Klee (Genshin Impact, familial as a sister)
Those who know me IRL and are not close
Those who accidentally/with no malintent do not tag their posts for triggering content (AND TAG RIGHT AND RESPOND POLITELY WHEN INFORMED!!)
Anti: multishipping, hates my/my friends’ interests
AND I HOLD THE RIGHT TO BLOCK AND/OR REPORT!! I do not want it to come to that but if it shall then I will not hesitate /srs, I block freely (especially if you violate my DNI.)
🫐🫐
Beeefore you interact, there’s some other stuff I gotta tell you—
- I infodump like CRAZY as well as speak in long and somewhat “fancy” language sometimes, and if you don’t like that, this isn’t the page for you. (When I am regressed or not feeling the best, I will refrain from posting wordy things here)
- I am a multishipper, meaning I do not ship only one OTP. I may ship SportaRobbie, but also a friend’s selfship with Sportacus, for example. I mostly do this for fun, and I do not agree with those who ship sptrb as they are in canon with no modification at all. IMO it is a pretty dangerous dynamic, however cute they may be in the moments where they ARE nice to each other.
- I very selectively/even nonsharingly yume Sportacus as my father, and if you see him as a father figure and actively create/have others create content regarding him as your dad, I may block and it’s not personal!! It depends on my mood. I will usually ask if you want to be my “sibling” with him as our father, but if you say no, again! I hold the right to block.
- As a little, I also do not share Sportacus as a fictional caregiver unless I think you’re chill. Yeah, pretty conditional lol. But he is very dear to me, and regression as well as selfshipping are my coping mechanisms to deal with trauma I have that I would rather not disclose.
- I do use AI generated content sometimes, but never images. I mostly keep those to myself, but when posting, I will include a tagged CW just in case someone doesn’t want to see or be exposed to that. I am NOT super pro-AI, nor am I anti-AI— I am pro heavily regulate AI, but let it exist and be a tool and fun thing for us to use and nothing more than that. I am anti AI replacing artists and actors’ jobs, though, let me make that clear.
- Pro/neutral on religion, I believe in (a???? not strictly Christian but I was raised that way) god and I have no issue with God (the father/son/spirit yk trinity and stuff) creating and governing existence. What I do NOT support or believe in is the usage of a holy concept and being to justify hate crimes. We don’t like that here, take it elsewhere. If you’re 100% anti-theism (not even religion, because organized religion CAN be triggering and they tend to do all sorts of bad things I get it /gen), either don’t voice it in front of me or block, I’m good with that.
- Also, there are some motifs that I do not share either. (But Milo, sharing is caring! No. No, telling others what you are and aren’t willing to share is caring so you don’t get into a fight.) They will be listed below:
* Stars, as in the shape (five AND four-pointed), as well as astronomy/outer space (including being “alien”)
* Wallflowers who open up and become golden retrievers
* Male ballet dancers
* Eggs. /lhj /ij
AAAnd that is it! Thank you for reading 💙💙💙
ps: if you know me from discord or youtube before this blog, hi!
ps #2: yes this post makes me seem prickly but I SWEAR USUALLY I AM ABLE TO COMPROMISE, and none of this is here to make anyone angry!! /gen it is simply precaution because i’m fairly new to social media and would rather cover all bases.

Welcome to The Cursed The Hollow (And More) Blog!
And welcome to this absurdly overdue introductory post that I'm going to have pinned on my blog! Here in this blog we hold cringe, cringe, and nothing BUT cringe! My asks are open, feel free to bother me with your thoughts! And...well, mayhaps the interesting The Hollow Alternate Universe that meets your eye! My ao3 should be linked up in my profile description. I also have a few projects that started as The Hollow AUs but became their own original ideas. I may post for them as well since they're so closely related to The Hollow in my heart. I also may dip my toes in other fandoms too. (Currently I'm really into Ben 10 for some reason). Something to note: I am OK with people creating fan content for my own content. In fact please do so; such things fuel me to create more. This blog is primarily Reekai centered, or well, at least I myself am the one and most prominent Reeve and Kai shippers. I love most of the ships though; Kaidam and Skira are pretty bomb. (For Ben 10: I primarily ship Benrook and Bevin)
I'm your wonderful host: Cursi. I create things for an absurdly small and quiet fandom, and I'm here to fix that silence! Any pronouns are acceptable. As for my gender: it's Chaos-fluid. No I will not elaborate; my gender is whatever makes the cishets the most confused!
I have a lovely lovely collection of friends I am living with who also are a huge fan of The Hollow and post The Hollow content. They call themselves Eklesia. @valarioncy is their fan account, but @eklesia-system is their plural account. They're a system, and I'm actually dating a few of their members (Sleet and Sidney). Speaking of valarioncy, me and them are accepting commissions and donations! Just spreading the word out there.
Who are you, Cursi?
Oh? Who am I? What's my deal? What's my business? I like to keep my online persona strictly separate from my real life persona, so you're never going to know any personal details about me except my age (I'm in my early twenties. I've been in this fandom since I was seventeen), the rare mentions of how I used to live in a specific state, and maybe my experiences in my birth gender. (unless you a mutual I deeply trust.) I'm living the way of the early internet: Anonymity! The double life! Y'all will never know my true name! Mwahahah!
But as for my interests and my general personality? I love animals, The Hollow, Ben 10, drawing and writing, world-building, video games, and I loooooove me some pastels mixed with some blacks and dark blues. I'm a bit of a pushover at times, and I despise conflict. Even then, I have pretty strong ideals and if I perceive injustice I'm likely going to call it out.
With the basics out of the way, here's all the navigational stuff under the cut! If there are no links, that probably means this introductory is a WIP or was re-blogged in WIP status. Check back some time!

Song That Reminds Me Of DR: Crawlin' Back to You - Hozier (This just kinda happened. But I mean I keep coming back to this DR as where I want to shift to first no matter how excited I get about other DRs, so it definitely fits🤷)

✨MY LIFE STORY✨
My family lives in a town, Greenwood, that is basically like a military base mixed with a small town, but houses all employees and families of a special SCP foundation adjacent government program: The "Non-Human Entity Protection Services".
Most families are made up entirely of employees in various departments. My father is in the Relocation department, my mother works at the local hospital, and my siblings work in 'Search & Rescue'. I myself work at the local daycare, primarily with the non-human children.
NHEPS has been somewhat aware of the monster world for decades, but only within the last 5 years had concrete proof after a 'Search & Rescue' team found and came back with Big Foot. Nothing more is done until the pattern of monsters scaring children changes to making them laugh. After a sort of 'first contact' an exchange program is worked out with the assistance of the CDA. 12 humans are selected to shadow various Monsters Incorporated employees, and vice versa.
I'm one of those 12 and end up shadowing a Jokester.

✨FAVORITE SCRIPTED✨ ✨MOMENTS✨
Me- "Excuse m- oh my gosh, sorry! I didn't mean to scare you! I-I'm Dawn. I'm one of the humans in the exchange program? I was told I'm shadowing a Jokester, I guess that's you?"
Just me casually accidentally scaring a Jokester. He forgot what day the program was starting, and he forgot to ask anyone too.
Ellie ended up in the program as well, shadowing someone completely opposite in personality to her: Duncan. This is going to be interesting.
Ellie - "No, seriously though. He mentions her at like every opportunity. Only other I've met that does that is Alex Hunt. Duncan isn't nearly as weird about it as Alex though, thank god!"
Me - "Well, Alex was also chosen for the program so godspeed to whoever he was assigned to."
Ellie - "I think he's shadowing janitorial? Whatever those two guys' names are. I've seen the three of them around at random."

I feel like the fact I haven't listed an s/o, not even writing in 'none' or something, or mentioned who the Jokester I end up shadowing is was noticed and if not then you know now 🤷. The two are supposed to be the same person/monster. He's literally only in like 2 scenes in Monsters Inc, and 1 or 2 episodes of Monsters At Work. 🤷
I was watching the show while working on my other scripts and the episode he shows up in first/the most started and a bunch of stuff in relation to this DR started coming up in my mind. I won't say who this is, but mentioning how little screen time he has is a pretty good hint as to who. I do plan to update this post to say who he actually is after shifting though! I just want to be there in person and actually meet him before sharing any more info.

i figured i should uhhh introduce myself so. hello. new funny post to pin so people know who the fuck i am ig. very messy cuz i like to ramble.
also, drawn skull under the read more! in case that would upset anyone
i go by cryptid but you can call me pretty much anything (other common ones are neo (my pen name) and comic), esp since it doesn't match up with my username LMAO but i very much like this username, even if it isn't very easy to make a nickname out of? i can't just go by. unreliable. or narrator. or 2845
(can you tell I like TSP?)
pronouns are he/him! i have some neos (primarily The Narrator/The Narrator's) and i vibe very heavily with xenogender, but i largely just consider myself on the binary, when it comes to femininity/masculinity. my ideal gender is a distinctly male beast of some kind
i write fics (unreliable_narrator_2845 on ao3) and post art here. mostly gordon, benry, and any mix of the two...
uhhh i'm 18 (19 in. Soon. why is my birthday so soon what the fuck where did that come from) and severely mentally ill!!! so if i come across as weird or off-putting or annoying or whatever, let me know what i'm doing that's "off". i cannot read a room to save my goddamn fucking life so imma need you to tell me how you are best comfortable when interacting with me
dms very welcome!!!! i prefer to chat on discord (cryptid_neo). i wanna talk to people about these gay men i've grown attached to. however, i have a pretty standard DNI list i think?
some fun facts ig:
i'm in college! getting a degree in psychology, going into the clinical psychology field
got into HLVRAI very recently. i am very sad that the fandom is so small but i will Make Do with the deck i have, not the one i wish i had
i am on the ace spectrum! (aego if you're curious). also aro spectrum, demi specifically. i used to be panromantic, but now i'm just homoromantic - i'm trans and have been on HRT for 2 years now, and it literally changed my sexuality, so that's uh. fun? goodbye women ig.
i have a tendency to say a lot of out of pocket shit because i do not have a filter, and i tend to fuck up and fumble my words when i'm not being super deliberate about something. sometimes i can say shit i did NOT mean to say, or i'm not being very clear with something. that makes me say a lot of funny stuff but also some stuff that i may need to be corrected on! i'm always looking to be a better person so just like, tell me if i did some shit and explain, and we should be good
as an addition to the above, a lot of what i say is meant to make myself and other people laugh. it's why my sona up there is a hyena! i like comedy in the horrific drama that is my life for some reason, and i use comedy to cope LOL
that is all. i think

Hey yall, just a heads up, and I really dont mean this in a harsh way, but in one of your latest posts (the terzo helping the reader with a nightmare one), the request asked for a male reader and it was asked what difference the gender makes here and while I agree that ofc it doesnt change anything, you cant just say that and then use female terms of endearments in the fic (dolcezza for example)
Now ofc I am not a native italian speaker and I imagine most readers wont know the difference anyway and its especially difficult to ask the internet/translators (esp google translate) for help when translating stuff from a non-gendered language (english) into a gendered one (italian), but I just thought that you might wanted to know?
hi, i'm a european with a heavily gendered language, so i get where you're coming from. the others are native english speakers.
italian, similarily to polish, has little to no gender-neutral terms of endearment (tho i'd argue that polish has more than italian does because it's a very flexible language).
to clarify, anon means this ask for amab (not specified that it's for a male) reader.
the "what difference does a penis make" was a reference to a post i made some time ago, about how unless the reader's genitals affect anything, we're gonna keep the reader gender neutral.
death themself is female-leaning and we do take most asks in a self-indulgent way, so it most likely stems from this. we mix up the terms between fics (feminine in one, masculine in other), but for a more fem-aligned person, usage of fem-aligned words is much more naturally flowing and in all honesty, we just don't really have a good way to write it in a more gender neutral fashion.
primarily, the terms used depend on the writer. death will use feminine terms more often than masculine because they're fem-aligned. zenith will use masculine terms because he's a trans man. i will mix up the terms because my gender i have multiple genders and i like using funky terms.
in the end, i don't think it matters all that much? i'm not trying to dismiss your concerns and i will think about how to make it better in the future, but based on my own experience (again, my own experience, doesn't have to be the same for everyone), it's not really a big deal? it's not hard to just swap the "a" and the "o" in your mind. and i was a hetalia fangirl, so i read things with multiple languages and gendered terms. in my mind, as long as it's grammatically correct, it doesn't really impact the fanfic.
however, just to get some feedback (because i realize i am fairly biased as a polish person) i'd like to include a quick poll here.
- Nosferatu

Is Gen gay-coded or just an entertainer? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ random thoughts/observations about his speech in Japanese
Warnings: LONG. mentions of gendered language and homophobic characterizations
The concept of “role language” is super important in Japanese fiction, because how a character talks can tell you a lot about their personality. Unfortunately, it’s often lost in translation because languages like English don’t have the ability to play around with formality levels, pronouns, etc as much.
Ever since I first watched the dcst anime like a year and a half ago, I’ve had no idea if Gen is intended to be the “gay friend” character or just the “quirky famous guy,” or maybe both? I figured that writing out my thoughts might be interesting for some people! Take everything with a grain of salt tho since I’m not a native speaker
1. Backwards speech
I want to first cover backwards speech (localized as pig latin in the English manga) because this used to confuse the fuck out of me. It felt like a quirky teen thing or internet slang, but it’s actually [zuuja-go] (“jazz” written backwards + “language”) which originated in the 40s-50s.
It was revived primarily by male TV stars and comedians in the 80s-90s, and to this day zuuja-go is regarded as a type of [entertainment industry-specific language]. However, it’s hardly used anymore. It’s kinda weird then that Gen, who’s too young to have lived in the revival period, would use zuuja-go, but my guess is that it’s a funny and somewhat original way to show his “popular entertainer” background. I personally don’t know any other characters who use it as regularly.
2. Choice of pronoun + speech patterns
Gen ends nearly every sentence with ~ne, ~yo ne, ~yo, or ~sa, or otherwise no particle at all. Questions almost never have an ending emphasis particle, putting the rise in intonation on the final word (the standard is to end with ~ka, ~no ka, etc). He also always contracts the verb ending ~te shimau into ~chau/jau (Senku always uses the contracted form too, but a more boyish derivative (chimau). It probably sounds crazy but trust me). There’s more I could list, but these are the most notable points lol
This kind of speech pattern is associated with teen girls/young women, so when it’s applied to a perceived male character, it’s used to indicate that they’re an “effeminate man”. In most cases, “effeminate” = gay/trans (yeah it’s shitty and outdated thinking). It’s also been applied to male characters who are idols or internet stars, possibly as a dig at their masculinity or making fun of their attempt to appeal to female audiences.
One example of the latter is Pyotr from Carole & Tuesday, who’s their universe’s equivalent of an Instagram celebrity. His sentence structure is almost identical to Gen’s, with the girlishness turned up to 11 because of the very high pitched, nasal-y voice given to him in the show. More on this later.
We also can’t forget how he calls everyone -chan. It’s diminutive and cute, but literally no one uses -chan that much. Even in fiction, female characters normally use it for female friends or children, and guys almost never use it except for children and maybe certain girls they’re close with. It’s definitely the most exaggerated cutesy trait he has. “Effeminate male” characters often address others - regardless of gender - with diminutive honorifics or cute nicknames even when not necessarily appropriate, so this is just gay-coded behavior from what I can tell lmao
One thing that’s different about Gen compared to other characters with the same "effeminate male” speech pattern (that I can recall, at least) is his pronoun. He uses the masculine “ore”, like Senku, Chrome, and most of the other young male characters. In text, his “ore” is even in kanji (俺) like theirs. Had it been written in hiragana or katakana, it would have given more of a casual or stylish vibe. Just as a sidenote, this is also why his name itself is written in mixed hiragana/katakana instead of kanji! It’s a typical thing for Japanese celebrities to do with their names to seem cool.
Anyway, characters who are meant to be portrayed as “effeminate men” will almost always use watashi or atashi, the standard “female” pronouns, or at least “boku” which is generally male-aligned but softer than “ore” (Pyotr uses boku, as an example).
Pronoun usage is way more nuanced in real life, but for fictional characters, it tends to be broken down into these kinds of stereotypes based on Tokyo-dialect Japanese.
He also is missing some other key points in his speech pattern that would more clearly identify him as gay/trans-coded, like using the feminine ~kashira (”I wonder...”) instead of ~kana.
3. Voice acting in the show
I love Gen’s Jpn voice honestly, but it does play into the “effeminate man” stereotype a little. His voice is a bit higher pitched than the other guys and somewhat nasal-y, which are both common traits of this stereotype when used with the speech patterns I talked about above. The way certain syllables are stressed also highlights his feminine speech pattern. However, he’s comparably tame to “effeminate” characters in other series. For example, his Jpn voice actor does raise the pitch of his natural voice for Gen, but it’s not a falsetto imo. It’s pretty common for male voice actors to do falsettos for “effeminate” characters.
Gen also doesn’t fall under a lot of the tropes that plague many gay/trans-coded characters and quirky celebrity types - such as being a “diva” or uncomfortably flirtatious - which tend to get amplified in voice acting.
---
This stuff combined with my previous post about his clothes makes me wonder even more about what was intended for his character. There’s a lot about him that is notably “feminine” without him leaning too hard into gay stereotype territory. And it’s just like, why did you do that.
If you survived reading this far, I’d love to hear your thoughts<3

!!!!! a lot of us who are on here are introjects! if we don't state our source it's usually because we aren't super comfortable talking about it. I think some of us are pretty easy to guess but please don't mention it unless we do !!!!!
Uh hi, making a list of some alters who post or are mentioned on here.
We sometimes sign off with a name or emoji, sometimes forget or aren't sure whos fronting, might put it in the tags or the actual post idk.
Catchalls are Lucky or Luck and He/Him but any pronouns are generally fine.
Hi, I'm Silver, I'm the host, I use primarily She/Her pronouns, my emoji signoff is 🤍, I like music and playing Minecraft.
I'm Toby, He/Him(?), I'm a mixed introject of c! and cc! Tubbo, I'm pretty chaotic, and I like bees and parcour! I have some trouble with reading and writing/spelling, I don't know enough about brains to know if it makes any sense. -🐝
Hey! I'm Lucky/Max I use He/They/She pronouns, I'm pretty into DC and superheroes in general, I'm not really sure what my role is, and my emoji signoff is 🪲. Don't worry, most of what I do and say is /hj.

UPDATE: I also got by A sometimes but im not telling you what it's short for and im good with she/her.
Hey :) I'm Red, im probably somewhere between 14 and 19 (usually 17) I like art and videogames, and i have a pretty fucked up sense of humor. I usually sign off as -red but sometimes i do -g bc me and G are different versions of the same person and it gets confusing. she/they.
Akira 🧵 She/? lesbian, lieks cats
Theseus/Tommy ❤️ He/? mostly based on fanfic versions of tommyinnit, has a lot of opinions about panic at the disco
Ranboo 🌓 He/they/? cc! (& c! ?) Ranboo
V 🎆 he/they i guess. i'm an introject. if you can figure out who i am i won't give you anything but i will be very impressed.
G - you don't need to know shit about me. called Jaskier a slut once and no one is ever going to let it go.

Lgbt movies, musicals and shows
Hey y'all so Christmas is coming up and we're bored so I thought I'd compile a list of all the LGBT stuff that I've seen! This list definitely doesn't include everything there is to see, just what I've seen. Hopefully you can look at this and find something you like!
Note: some of these movies/shows I really love, some... not so much. I put how many stars (in my opinion) they get at the end of each title. If you like a movie I don't, good for you. Vise versa. If you want me to go more into depth about a particular movie or show and my opinion on it or possible content warnings, please leave a comment or an ask. I love talking about this stuff so I'd be more than happy to answer questions (as long as they're not weird or inappropriate).
Okay let's go
The following movies are on Netflix
The Half of It- a smart girl befriends a kind jock when he asks her to write love letters for his crush-also her crush. Asian Lesbian protagonist. Five stars
Handsome Devil- a socially awkward boy at an all-boys boarding school that worships rugby is horrified to find that his roommate is a talented rugby player. Gay protagonists. Four stars
Alex Strangelove- a teenage boy and his girlfriend plan to have sex for the first time, but he questions his sexuality when he befriends a gay guy. Gay protagonist. One star
A New York Christmas Wedding- a woman gets to see a version of her life where she gets to marry her childhood best friend. Also it's Christmas. Lesbian/bi protagonist. Four stars
Moonlight- shows the three stages of the protagonist's life: his childhood and his relationship with his father figure, his teens and his relationship with his childhood friend, and his adult life. Gay Black protagonist. Five stars
Saturday Church- a teen questioning their gender forms a familial relationship with trans women after the death of his father. Queer, implied trans Black protagonist
Yes or No- a traditional girl starting college is horrified to find out her roommate is a butch lesbian. Asian lesbian protagonists, background bi girl character. Three stars
Disclosure- a documentary discussing the history of trans representation and its impact on trans people and society. Many trans actors are in it. Five stars
Other People- a man moves back in with his family to help his mother with cancer. Gay protagonist. One star
Freak Show- a new boy at school makes a reputation for himself by dressing in outlandish costumes. Gay protagonist. One star
Straight Up- a man with OCD who identified as gay begins to question his sexuality and forms a complex relationship with a woman. Queer Asian protagonist
These movies are not on Netflix. They might be found elsewhere, but I am unsure
Booksmart- two best friends who spent all of high school making good grades decide to spend the night before graduation partying. Lesbian protagonist. Five stars
But I'm a Cheerleader- a girl is sent to a conversion camp when her friends and family fear she's a lesbian. Note: the camp is treated very jokingly so it's not a terrifying/completely accurate portrayal. Lesbian protagonist, background gay men and lesbian characters. Four stars
Love, Simon- we all know it I assume. A closeted teenage boy befriends another closeted kid at his school and he is threatened to be outed to the whole school. Gay protagonist. Three stars
The Way He Looks- a blind teenage boy dreams to study abroad to prove himself and he begins to catch feelings for the new kid at school. Queer male protagonist. Four stars.
Boy Erased- a memoir telling the story of the time a gay teen spent at conversion therapy. CW: this movie is very dark and definitely do not watch it if you are triggered by sexual assault, suicide, and aggressive homophobia. Gay protagonist. Three stars
The Miseducation of Cameron Post- a lesbian is sent to a conversion camp where she befriends two outcasts who rebel against the Christian ideologies of the camp. CW: this movie does make fun of conversion therapy and has many lighter moments, but it still has dark content like aggressive homophobia and self harm. Lesbian protagonist, background queer and trans characters. Three stars
Hidden Kisses- a new kid faces bullying when a picture of him kissing another guy gets posted online at a party. CW: this movie doesn't seem to be for LGBT people at all. It's a lot of oppression porn. That's the movie. Gay protagonist. One star
GBF- a gay kid gets outed and becomes the "GBF" of the popular girls at school. Gay protagonist. One star
Musicals
Falsettos- a man name Marvin goes through a terrible divorce after being discovered as gay, but he tries to keep his ex, child, and boyfriend all in one family. Gay protagonist, background lesbian characters. Five stars
Fun Home- a musical based on Alison Bechdel's coming out memoir following her life as a college student coming out and her relationship with her secretly gay father. CW: while this musical is very fun and lighthearted, there is suicide, implied pedophilia, and verbal abuse. Lesbian protagonist. Five stars
Spies are Forever- an American spy in the 50-60s struggles to work again after the death of his lover. Gay protagonist. Four stars
Shows
I'll give a description of the show and then of the representation in it
Trinkets- a girl at a new school forms an unlikely friendship with two other girls at a shoplifters anonymous meeting. The main character is a lesbian and forms a relationship with another girl. Lesbian protagonist. Two stars
Special- a man with cerebral palsy lies about his condition to his new coworkers, saying he was in a car accident. Gay protagonist. One star
She-Ra- we know this one mate. A girl from an evil group discovers a sword that can turn her into a powerful princess. There's a large amount of LGBT characters so you won't be disappointed. Five stars
Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts- a girl named Kipo finds herself on the surface surrounded by strange creatures called mutes. One of the characters is a gay black boy and he actually has a coming out scene where he says the word gay. All the main (human) characters are black or mixed as well. Five stars
Pose- a woman named Blanca takes in a homeless gay boy, a trans sex worker, and a former drug dealer to form a family and walk in balls. This show has great representation of trans women of color as well as queer men of color. Five stars
Twelve Forever- a young girl travels to the fictional land known as Endless to escape her fears of growing up. She is shown having crushes on girls and you can possibly also hc her as trans. Four stars
Steven Universe- we also know this one y'all. A half- human half-gem boy named Steven defends his town and the universe with the help of the crystal gems. Many LGBT characters, primarily wlw. Four stars
Never Have I Ever- a teenage girl tries to fix her reputation after the death of her father by becoming more aquatinted with the most popular guy in school. One of her friends has a coming out arc where she realizes she's a lesbian. It also has a very diverse cast and age appropriate actors. Five stars
One Day at a Time- a sitcom about a single Cuban mother and former veteran trying to juggle her family, job, and love life. Her daughter Elena has a coming out arc in the first season and dates a nonbinary character later in the show. Five stars
Queer Eye- a reality TV show about five gay men helping people get their shit together. We know this one. Five stars
That's about all I can think of. If anyone has any additional movies/shows they like, feel free to add! I am always desperate for more representation, specifically trans representation and some bi male rep. Have a gay ass Christmas you funky lil shits 🤡🤡🤡🌈

A reader writes:
I’m writing to you today because I have some information to share with you (and your readers) who may still be skeptical that this LGBTQIA+ gender-identity craze is coming for their kids. Some recent interactions online have made me more aware than ever that the movement is spreading in wild and unpredictable ways, and also made me reflect on how, in my own life, even someone like me could have fallen victim to it.
I want to start off by saying that recently, (and ironically, in an attempt to try not to be sucked into the internet as purely a source for doom and gloom: you will see how this backfires on me) I decided to rejoin a fan community surrounding one of my favorite franchises on Twitter. I won’t go into too much detail about which community and the exact specifics, but just know that it’s a popular franchise that’s appropriate for older kids, teens and adults (nothing 18+, nothing for really little ones). As a teen myself I was fairly active in a similar branch of this community on another social media platform (Facebook), and enjoyed it immensely before the platform eventually went more or less defunct as a hot-spot for fan content. Most of the content was fan-created work (like fan-art or fan-fiction) with a little interaction and lots of “DID YOU SEE THE LATEST” kinds of posts.
…
Anyway, to keep it to a minimum, that was then. If you’ve been on the internet any time in the last five years you know that spaces where people just talk about an interest and don’t mix it with politics and activism are becoming few and far between. Even though I knew this, and knew that I wasn’t going to have the same experience in a different place, something sparked an interest in me to go try to reconnect with my internet roots in a different setting. So, I followed some hashtags, quickly found some new followers and settled back to enjoy at least marginally some discussions online that didn’t have to do with Covid and All The Ways We Are All Going To Die.
Then came the teenagers.
Much like when I was a kid, this franchise attracts a lot of younger people. So it was hardly surprising to me to find that many of my new followers were in the 14-18 age range and that people like myself (mid-older 20s) were a sort of senior majority. That was fine- Twitter’s rules after all are 13+, so it’s not unreasonable to assume if you’re part of a popular group that you’ll interact on occasion with minors. That wasn’t the part I found strange. The part I found strange was that all of them, and I repeat, all of them were fans of two things- the franchise, and gender identities.
You can actually almost pinpoint the age range of the 18 and under crowd by how many of them have the following: 1. Pronouns in bio and in username. 2. Gender identity or lack thereof displayed in bio or username. 3. LGBTQ+ sexual orientation displayed in bio or username. etc. etc. etc. I’m not going to dive into it too much, because some might be saying “isn’t that just normal nowadays? Even politicians do that?” Well, you’re not wrong if that’s what you’re thinking. And that’s not the part that disturbs me.
What disturbed me was that, a few weeks after I joined the group, I started noticing an unsettling pattern among many of these teenage users (and many over-teen users, but I’m trying to make a point about the young ones specifically). For a few days, after an interesting bit of news or a trailer or some other thing that unites franchises, the posts in my feed would be primarily things like what I remembered from past experiences: posts about the franchises, theories, speculations, fanart, etc. But, every time things would settle back down into a quiet, normal week, the feeds in my post became almost entirely about one thing: Gender and LGBTQ talking points. I’m going to diverge for one second and say that many people in this group aren’t using a personal, front-facing account for their interactions in this fan-group. They’re mostly using alt-accounts with no real names and faces attached (myself included). And yet, every time the discussion in the feeds died down to where there was just no new stuff about the franchise to talk about, all the conversation slowly but surely shifted back to sexual orientation and gender. From fan-ships of perfect LGB couples to ‘hey I drew this person but as a trans-female!’ to even forgoing pretending to talk about their interests and just discussing their own gender and sex presentation with their other online friends, it became quickly very clear to me that A. I no longer really belonged here and B. Every single one of these kids was obsessed. Every. Single. One.
…
I’m going to digress and talk about myself for a minute to explain just why these examples, particularly that last one, burn a hole in my soul. From the minute I was old enough to remember, I’ve never been one of those typically presenting females. When my sisters and I played dress-up as kids, they played princesses and I played a prince or a witch or whatever was more interesting. In addition to the dolls and barbies I had being one of three girls, I also had an assortment of boy-oriented toys, including action figures, a remote control car and this really cool nerf bow-and-arrow set that I still secretly wish had survived my playing with it because man, my kids are gonna miss out someday. My hair was short because I hated wearing it up and the solution was a bob, and when we spent time with relatives I could be found as far away from my female cousins as possible, hanging out with my male cousins and talking about Legos and Lord of The Rings. I spent 90% of my time reading books and ignoring reality, and didn’t put much effort into my appearance until probably age 13 or later.
And I wished I was a boy.
It wasn’t an all-consuming thought, but I thought it. I wished, many times, when my parents would fuss at me to please stop attempting to climb trees in your Sunday clothes and when my sisters never talked about anything but dolls and tea-parties around their friends that I could be one of the boys. I had always liked the boys and their world better, and I fit into better, and yet there was that little problem (that I was still a girl) that kept me from being accepted into the boy group. The reality was, I was already probably very intelligent for my age (too-well read children can relate) and I took that big-headedness a little too far at times. I was also a very emotional person (still am) and just passionately felt that being a girl and being expected to do girl things was hideous and unfair.
The saving grace? My mom was the same. She’s never been a typical female either, and though as adults we have some clear differences (ironically, I have more stereotypical female interests/talents than her- like a hidden passion for interior decorating and a love of baking and so on) she was there for me, to be able to tell me that no- I didn’t really want to be a boy, I was just a girl who liked sword fights and grass-stains more than ballgowns and tea parties, and that was okay!!! She was proof that there were other girls like me, and that I would find more of them eventually (I did) and, even though we never said so in so many words, that stereotypes and how we fit into them has nothing to do with our innate female and male selves. And so, reassured that I could be female and still be however I wanted, I eventually grew out of those thoughts, and as I matured, found that there were ‘female things’ I connected with that my past self was too young to appreciate.
But, think about all this in a modern context. I’m a happy adult female now, and I was never truly gender-questioning. I just thought, for a while, that boys had more fun than I did, so I wanted to be one. But that, in it of itself, is a thought that’s deep enough for modern gender activists to insist I be transitioned immediately and put on life-altering hormones, never given a chance to grow up or grow out of questioning, and affirmed in my presentation instantly! If I, like that young girl online, had been handed a ‘gender-affirming’ flag and an identity that ‘made sense’ out of why I was different from my peers, I might have jumped on it, especially without the presence of a wise older person to tell me I wasn’t anything different than what she’d been as a child. This is the problem, this is why this kind of thing is so dangerous and toxic and wrong.

How did the projected scale of godfeels change as you went through the process of writing it?
oh god, where to even start!
i won’t spent too much time on gf1 and the first half of gf2, as i covered the history of how this story evolved up to that point pretty extensively in my video on the subject. the short version is that both gf1 and 2 were meant to be pretty basic explorations of philosophical questions i had about post-canon homestuck. in gf1 this was the ennui and existential dread of having retcon, and in gf2 it was primarily “if you could, would you retcon your younger self so you came out as trans earlier in life?”
the biggest difference is that, when i started writing the thing, i had no idea how important Vriska would wind up being. my thought was, oh yeah, it makes sense that June would pin her gender feelings on Vriska to an extent, but then she’ll come out and she’ll still be fundamentally the same person!
but then i got to thinking about some of the more abstract lore i set up in gf1. if homestuck is a world in which all ideas materially exist, i reasoned that a person who leaned hard into compulsive cisness could physically split the idea of their gender in half. and then i thought, okay, what happens when that idea gains access to the font of material ideation necessary to be able to retcon the narrative?
i’ll tell you, i came really close to just setting all this messy stuff aside and keeping it to a fairly normal story. but it felt a little too much like cowardice, and the instant Vriska and June mixed together i knew that this had to have cosmological ramifications.
one thing i have to stress is that even through the end of 2.3 i was convinced i couldn’t write half these characters. i never intended it to be a full cast production! but with Vriska causing problems it only felt natural that an antagonist would emerge in the form of Dirk, immediately transforming gf2 into a commentary on the Epilogues. every Homestuck character has a really unique voice that i was terrified of getting wrong, but as the scale of the conflict got bigger it felt weird to leave them out? i’ve said this in other places, but the fact that optimisticDuelist said that gf2.3 Jake was one of the best Jakes he’d ever read was extraordinarily vindicating praise. seeing if i could get these characters right almost became a game for me, like a writing challenge! it wasn’t enough to get their voices right though, i also wanted to give them something to DO. this kinda became the ethos of the whole series in a way, making sure everyone grows in some way, showing how many ways a life can diverge based on just a single choice.
i will say the only character i got consciously wrong was Roxy. Roxy in gf2 is she/her and her transness is neither confirmed or denied because i wrote gf1 before the Epilogues, and as a recent reader i was actually not aware of the popular transfem read on her. i also wrote her with a southern accent and living in a trailer with Callie, which i can’t really explain or justify in canon. i just think it’s funny and makes sense for her character. there’s an implied history of disagreement between her and Jane about her residence of choice which i’ve long had bookmarked to circle back to eventually. who knows if we’ll ever get there.
anyway, as you can see, i didn’t want to write over 200,000 words of fic, but every time i tried to keep the scale in check i’d come up with some weird new idea that i couldn’t resist putting in! the fun of Homestuck and the fun of fanfic in general is that anything can happen. why do it if you’re not having fun?
okay so, here’s the thing about godfeels 3. i knew at the end of 2.3 that this was not The End, as it were, because that last scene with June and Terezi on the porch of their new home just felt too melancholy. and of course Silverbark’s very existence begged a million questions that even i was too intrigued by to ignore. but i have to stress that the breakneck pace at which i wrote gf2 damn near killed me. i regret how long 3.1 has taken me in the midst of the pandemic and everything, but i simply can’t do that tens of thousands of words a week kind of marathon writing anymore. so after 2.3 i decided to set aside godfeels for a bit and let its future percolate while i worked on other stuff, including the Terezi route in Pesterquest.
in december 2019 i had the idea for Silverbark and the Ten Leading Questions, a way for me to tell some fun Silverbark Jade stories without having to confirm the particulars of her origin. now, i knew from the start that i wanted this to be a stealth prologue to gf3.1, but there were a lot of details i hadn’t quite worked out yet. for the record, i did plan to give every character the chance to ask their own questions! the thing is i realized pretty quickly that Silverbark adventures are basically just really short episodes of Doctor Who? and they got really boring for me really fast, because ultimately it was like... these stories had to be self contained, right? so the stakes were always gonna be really low, which just doesn’t interest me that much as a storyteller.
and that’s when it all clicked for me that the whole thing was a setup, and so Dana was born.
obviously i can’t say too much about her because she has yet to really appear in the story much. but it occurred to me how all these fun universe-hopping adventures over the course of centuries, Jade and Davepeta probably couldn’t help but start to see other people, even people they care a lot about, as pawns. they don’t do it maliciously, of course! but a major running theme of godfeels has been the question of who has the right to control other people’s lives. June spends gf1 largely paralyzed by the knowledge of how much power she has in her hands, and of course 2.3 spends an inordinate amount of time on June’s indecision and moral quandaries about her and Terezi’s plan to take down Dirk. it only seemed natural to me that Jade, arguably one of the most sympathetic victims of this cycle of manipulation in the main cast, would first overcome and then replicate this cycle in her own way.
these questions in combination with the centuries of unaccounted time in Jade’s life necessarily implied a narrative much larger in scale than gf2. so, all that said, i would actually say that compared to how gf2 kept pushing to make itself bigger, gf3 has so far remained relatively consistent with the plans i’ve made for it. the lesson i learned is that i need to have enough of a plan that i know where i’m going, while also leaving enough leeway for this story and these characters to react in interesting and surprising ways.
so at this point i know how many parts gf3 will be and how each of them will start. i know that gf3 will, in fact, be The End in some sense, though i fully expect this story to surprise me no matter what i do. there’s a lot i don’t know, though, and that is by design! but altogether i think i have the scale under control... if only because it’s hard to get much bigger than the omniverse!

Hi random people, quick question. I am a fanfic writer and I really like to put my own spin on stuff, which obviously means making my works more inclusive — be it race, [all the] genders, neurodivergencies, etc. I’m working on it as I grow more experienced and educated, but my main question is:
NON WHITE PEOPLE:
How would you like your skin color to be described in popular media?
I mean, more power to you if you like to read about someone with “skin the color of rich earth” or “chocolate” or “as dark as the night sky” or ^as stated above^ non white and leave it at that or (as I literally just read before I went to write this post) “obviously mixed”. I’m not going to disparage you if you are actually okay with being described that way, that’s not my aim. (And yes, while this is primarily aimed at people with darker skin, I’m still here for anyone else who is a poc)
Like, I need some descriptors y’all want to hear/read that you either would WANT to be described as or actually describe yourselves as. I’m kinda blanking on things that don’t sound racist/creepy/unrealistic to describe certain skin tones, so I would love it if y’all could help me out. Really, I’d like some type of list to fall back on for anything I write that makes YOU feel represented respectfully, makes you feel good when you see it, or even just something that you wish you would be described as but never see anywhere.
Thank you and have a great day everyone!!
(P.S. I will also gladly take suggestions for words/phrases/whatever that you do NOT want your skin tone described as!)
(P.P.S. Lol if you couldn’t tell, yes I am most definitely a pale ass little white person, so I won’t ever feel comfortable writing any words that can be construed as slurs)
Again, thank your for any help you can offer! I just want to write something that won’t make you cringe if you read it

Mortal Kombat Akademy
In between my work on the 31 Days of Original Characters challenge, I've begun to revisit my plans for the big Mortal Kombat story I'd wanted to do for awhile; Mortal Kombat Akademy. I've done a lot of character busts with backstory info and I did a sort of "season one" plots but this is something I'm not really satisfied with anymore. I'm gonna spend the new year trying to readjust and rework the overall story and characters to something more workable. Here's a few odds and ends of what I've planned so far;
Story Outline
Shaolin Monks, Lui Kang and Kung Lao, are recruited into the Mortal Kombat Akademy, the secret fighting school located on the island paradise of international crimelord, Shang Tsung. But those who step foot on the island are subjected to terrors beyond comprehension once they learn the true purpose of the school; a training ground for the soldiers of an interdimensional tyrant who conquers by use of a fighting tournaments ordained by the gods themselves. But one of the gods, Raiden, is willing to give Earth a fighting chance by training as many chosen Earthlings as he can so they may finally defeat the forces of evil in the Mortal Kombat tournament.
Kinda bare bones but for plot synopsis go, it helps me sort of make a launching pad for the ideas. Like my original idea, the story is still primarily about Lui Kang and Kung Lao going to the school and meeting/befriending the typical heroes of the Mortal Kombat world, Raiden being their mentor and Shang Tsung being the big bad to overcome.
But the story ideas I had just don’t really cut it for me now. I feel as though I was sort of putting the cart before the horse by putting so much time making elaborate details instead of snowballing one idea to make a big bright idea. I’ve made some titles for them;
Start the Semester!
Tour the Akademy!
Prepare for the First Exams!
Bond Like Your Lives Depend On It!
Learn the Fatalities!
Wills and Testaments!
Survive the Detetionrealm!
Survive the First Round of Exams!
Survive the Second Round of Exams!
Survive the Last Round of Exams!
Party Your Asses Off!
Mortal Kombat Akademy V. The DC Universe: Dawn of Pain!
To give some context to them, I had a storyarc planned; Early on, Raiden would want the Earthrealm class (the class would have Kang, Lao, Johnny, Sonya, Jax, Stryker and Nightwolf) to be friends and allies in order to survive the matches and save the world. Easier said than done when so many personalities were clashing together. And once they learn about fatalities, the class goes through some mental anguish over having to kill or be killed, Kang being the only one vowing to never kill anyone, to the disbelief of everyone else. Things start looking up once the class starts to trust and respect one another and become stronger fighters.
But Kano, on the behalf of Goro’s Class (Mileena, Kitana, Jade, Baraka, Sheeva, Skarlet, Reptile, Tanya and Kano himself) frames Sonya and Johnny for a crime, leading to Professor Quan Chi to exile them to the “Detention Realm” where his goons, Drahmin and Moloch, deal out the punishments. My idea for them that they’d be bumbling and dim so Johnny and Sonya could escape them, bonding while trying to make it to the final exams. Everyone but Kang and Lao have been defeated and since Sonya and Johnny were late, it’d all be up to them to beat Goro. Once Goro beast Lao half to death, Kang faces his fears and manages to defeat Goro without killing him, but not without making him suffer for all the pain he’s caused.
The class’ reward for passing the exams is an-all expense paid vacation to Edenia, which is basically a hellhole built to Shao Kahn’s pleasure. Here, Kang and Kitana get some alone time to romantically connect to one another during the celebratory feast hosted by Kitana and Mileena’s parents, Shao Kahn and Sindel. But really, the feast is for the Kahns to asses the threat that Raiden’s students hold to their long term plans. And finally, the DCU story is just a fun breather where I have the mid-1990s versions of their heroes (Superman with a mullet, Batman Forever styled Batman and the two Wonder Women, Artemis and Diana, for example).
And after rereading what I had for plots, I noticed how little the Lin Keui featured into the stories since I designed a lot of them for the series. Should try to fix that somehow.
Overall Art Style
As I stated in previous MKA concept art, I based the art style on the look of Steven Universe. I still intend for the project to be written fanfiction, but I do wish to have some elements of it to be drawn by myself. Not a full adaptation but maybe a full page illustration of each chapter, along with the general character/environment sketches, or like the ending credits of The Mandalorian series.
But back to the art style, I wish to change it. I can’t really go further on the style of Steven Universe if this story is going to be about such heavy violence and gore. It wouldn’t really look right, might cross over into unintentional hilarity or into the uncanny valley. I’m looking at something like the artist One, the man behind One Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100 whose style is really unique, fast, sketchy and frenetic, all attributes I think will work well. I also love the anime aesthetic of the 1990s so that’s definitely a goal to achieve since I’m setting the story in 1995.
Story Ideas To Keep
* Koins: My idea for an in-canon reason for the koins you win in matches (at least in Mks 9-11, IDK how far back they go) to unlock Krypt stuff will be used as a way for the students to buy things like food, clothing and resurrections due to being killed by another student’s fatalities since its primarily a learning facility instead of a battlefield. Though if you’re broke, you’re not gonna be saved. Koins, like in the games, will be given for performing a fatality and a moral choice comes up when you think “do I do good and be paid less, or do something terrible but get more chances of being resurrected if I die?”
*Profiles: I’ve got to do some rewrites for the characters. Nothing too too major since I do like a lot of what I wrote, but its more to streamline it to fit in the new direction I’m doing. Like, having Sonya, Jax and Stryker being Hall Monitors, I don’t think something like that is gonna be part of my story since I’m trying to take it a tad more seriously. The idea of Detention Realm and having Dharmin and Moloch as lovable henchmen is still canon, as far as I’m concerned. Think the two mice henchmen from the film “Flushed Away”. And on a final note, the newly retconned origin for Sindel...that shit isn’t gonna be part of my story.
Overall, whatever backstories that’ll be changed will likely be on a case by case basis. No telling who or what will be changed right now, but I’ve now thought of some parts to start with.
Diversity and Inclusion
This one is probably gonna be one of the hardest to accomplish since I really want to make the series really diverse with body types, genders and sexuality, race, neurodiversity, that type of subject matter. Inclusion is really important to me, and I’m scared how I might screw it up like how Disney, JK Rowling, SNL, Simpsons, Big Mouth, Voltron so many more screw it all up since they all serve the needs of the capitalist, neoliberal status quo over the voices of the marginalised.
And with that, brings up some more challenges. Will I make so many diverse original characters that they take time away from the canon characters? Should I make more canon MK characters differently diverse?
I'm also planning on having the characters display prejudices and bigotries but I'm scared I'll go in too much of "Bright" territory, if you know what I mean.
Tackling Mature Content
I mean, it goes without saying that the series is going to be full of violence and gore since that’s basically in the DNA of Mortal Kombat in the first place. But there’s much more serious topics I want to try to write. Like the effects of abuse, queer rights, the above themes about diversity and inclusion, the seemingly never ending war and the ideas of the long defeat. Of course, my chapters will be marked with as clear as possible content warnings, those are important.
A Shared Universe
A month ago, I watched a video about Midway trying to recreate the success of Mortal Kombat into other fighting games. The video, “Remember when Midway tried to copy Mortal Kombat?” talked about three would-be franchises of Midway fighting games; Mace: The Dark Age, War Gods and Bio FREAKS. After watching the video and reading about the games, I think it’d be good for lore if they were integrated into my story. Mace and War Gods could be used as part of the backstory of the series. Like the idea of the Earthrealm Kombatants being the descendants of the characters of Mace and War Gods, maybe Raiden was involved with the later, I’m not sure. Bio FREAKS could be latter used if I go into a time travel story. Maybe a mix of the game and the story/characters of Mortal Kombat X. As for Midway’s other successful but overlooked franchise, Killer Instinct, that is probably going to be the most recurring element in the shared universe. UltraTech, the main villains of the series would be the people behind such things as Kano’s cyborg eye, the Lin Keui’s Cyber Initiative and being the rulers of Neo-Amerika in the Bio FREAKS timeline. I also wrote in the profiles of Nightwolf and Sub-Zero that the Killer Instinct universe is linked to my story (one of his divorced parents is dating one of the parents of KI’s Black Eagle and Thunder while Glacius was an alien that helped give Cryomancers their powers).
And on a side note, there is another Midway MK clone called Primal Rage, which I swear I had one of the toys based on it and saw a parody of it on an episode of Dexter’s Laboratory. Its pretty gruesome, its a bunch of savage Kaiju in a post-apocalyptic earth that resembles the stone age. Probably an alternate timeline/dimension if I use it in my series. Who knows, maybe elements of the worlds of Street Fighter and or God of War could make an appearance...
Writing the Damned Thing
Probably the absolute hardest part of this entire thing. I struggle with actually keeping attention to writing since I’m primarily a visual artist and it feels terrible to not even follow through on any idea I have and it just kinda sits and collects dust in my brain. If its sketching and rendering, I can do it. If its writing shit down, I just have executive dysfunction when it comes to it. I never know where to start writing it, how to continue writing it, how to finish it or how to put it all together cohesively.
I can’t do this without at least writing the complete first season, if I do it on a semi-regular basis, nothing is going to be done. Even like, less than a week of non-recurring writing is like a poison to me. I don’t know how, but if I make room for an hour or two of writing a day every day might help me get more prepared for longer writing.
In Conclusion
When will the first chapter be done? I don’t know. When will I start writing? Hopefully as soon as I can. I can try to post updates or work in progresses, but that’s still a pipe dream, in my honest opinion. But I want to make progress in 2020, I need to make a difference and to actually make this coming year worthwhile.

Warrior of the Wild Review
3.5/5 stars Recommended for people who like:
survival stories, quests, fantasy
I think the issue when it comes to this book is that it isn't bad, but it isn't great either. Technically there's nothing's wrong with it, subjectively it's pretty good...but something just feels missing from it in an unquantifiable way.
I think part of the issue is the setting. We're introduced to this new world that seems vaguely post-apocalyptic living in the woods, vaguely Viking-esque, but with fantasy (or sci-fi, the jury's still out) creatures and beliefs mixed in as well. There's a collection of seven villages, there's at least two gods, there are creatures the villages use to haul things but are Not Horses, there are creatures that attack people, and then there's a bunch of stuff in the middle. For instance, we don't get an explanation for why wood can't stably be used to build things unless it's a super special kind Soren and Iric and Rasmira find in the wilds. Like, the book mentions that wood crumbles after a few weeks if anyone tries to use it for something other than firewood, but then completely glosses over it and we get no explanation for it.
Then there's this idea of the seven villages who all have a designated spot where they hand over their designated supplies to the god, but are somehow not in contact with one another outside that time....so I'm not sure how they know what supplies to bring or where to meet for the first time. If they just talked to one another, then maybe some of the issues like people starving from giving too much tribute to the god wouldn't happen since, you know, trade is a thing people do. Outside of civilization, when Rasmira is in the woods with the boys, the setting fits a lot better and I think the wilds are really Levenseller's strong point in this book. The wilderness and the stuff you find there doesn't need as much an explanation as an entire society with a belief system, which might be why I find the woods to be a much more stronger setting.
As for Rasmira...the beginning is definitely rocky. I can say from the get-go that there was a character I didn't trust and I'm not so sure why she did either. Like....if you're training to be a warrior (even if it isn't against human enemies) don't you need to know strategy and misdirection at least a little bit? And also, with her history, I don't know why she'd suddenly believe this character, it just doesn't make sense, especially in the short time span given. Moving on from there, Rasmira acts like boys are the cause for everything bad in the world and is just acting all around ridiculous about the other gender and it gets annoying. I'd get it if what happened was gender-specific and primarily a guy-thing, but the book shows us that it isn't just boys in her training class who don't like Rasmira, but her own mother doesn't really like her that much, plus, while what happens is definitely born at least partially from misogyny, a lot of it is just that Rasmira always gets praise because she's the leader's daughter and the others have to work harder for it. That leads into the next thing: Rasmira literally won't shut up about how everyone praises her and she doesn't deserve it and she's so uncomfortable with it, but she's also so bad-ass. I know that's a trope people like to make fun of re: YA genres, but good god it usually isn't so fucking blatant in the book itself; like, generally there's a bit more subtlety to it. But after about the first third to half of the book Rasmira starts getting better and actually acting like a non-whiny, non-gullible character. We start to see some strategy and character building and get to see her step out of that weepy warrior role.
The other characters were okay. I want to know more about Irrenia, Rasmira's older sister who's a skilled healer and seems to care deeply about Rasmira. I felt she has the most depth out of any of the side characters. Soren's cute in a puppy dog kind of way and has one hell of a loyalty streak, but the romance there definitely felt rushed and I think he and Rasmira would've been better as friends. Iric was good, he reminds me a lot of Chubs from TDM, if anyone's read that, only more willing to put the people he cares about in danger (there are several scenes where something almost happens to Soren because of something Iric does/says in a purposeful manner and Chubs would never). The god was boring and didn't really have a good backstory, arc, or motivation, he was just there.
The writing feels like something more out of a debut novel than from someone who's written other books before. There's a lot of instances where contractions are left out and the full-form is written, making the dialogue feel so stilted. And then there are other points where it felt like Levenseller forgot to write emotions into the scene and left it in outline format:
"The gunda," Soren says.
"The gunda isn't real."
Soren flings an arm behind him in the direction of the creature, an emphatic gesture.
Yes, I see his point." (109)
No one talks like that (or thinks like that, really). There are loads of instances like that where I'd be reading and suddenly feel like the emotion evaporated from the page and I was just reading a detailed outline of what was supposed to be happening in the scene. And then there are scenes like the kissing scene toward the end of the book and...wow...I did not need to read about a kiss being described like that for a paragraph. We get it, Rasmira's never been kissed before, great, doesn't mean you need to describe the 'wet' feeling of the kiss for a paragraph.
So, while I've mostly spent this review complaining, the book itself isn't really that bad, it's just not good either. The rating system needs to be out of 10, because saying it's 4 stars is more than it deserves, but 3 is too few, and then everything gets messy.
