I think it kinda says alot about a person that they can praise shows and praise creators so much and then the second the creator asks to be paid, suddenly their work is not that good. Its crazy how fast people changed from calling Steven a silly guy with a tesla to a "rich guy who wants to steal all our money, and look the asshole even drives a tesla". It's crazy how everyone loves his shows and his food content, until he asks us to pay for it and suddenly it's "how dare this man ask me for money and then judge other people's food". Nobody is making you pay for their service. It's the same policy of posts online. If you don't like it, don't reblog, comment, or pay. If you are mad at them for putting up a pay wall, don't pay. I feel like some of yall are forgetting that this is their career. The goal is to earn a comfortable living and be able to provide for their families and employees and the ability to grow. If you don't want to proceed with Watcher, don't pay to watch, but don't hate on them for making their own choices for their business.

OH GODDD I. WOW SO MANY. i think the question specifies tumblr but im in a httyd discord server (which is super inactive now but super duper thrived in early 2023) and the amount of strange people in there was wiiild

I remember seeing someone who absolutely HATED Astrid with their whole being, like made an OC to replace her etc etc, but like just COMPLETELY missed the point of her character.

Idk if I ever interacted with them directly but one of the main reasons they hated her is because in HTTYD2 when Hiccup becomes chief she smiles. Baffling. Like, she's obviously very upset Stoick is dead, but she's smiling because she's proud and staying strong for Hiccup. she's not "happy that Hiccup is getting the throne". i remember thinking it was so weird specifically because almost anything negative you can say about Astrid, you can say about Snotlout. but they had no problem with him. figures

oh godddd okay uhhh. i dont super-duper interact with the httyd fandom space outside of tumblr so i dont really knowwww. The Hidden World and the light fury is always crazy but idk.

The Snotcup debate is always fun /sar. I understand that they are not CANONICALLY cousins in the movie series but i truly just cannot see them as anything else theyre so cousins to me. i do NOT like Snotcup even a little bit.

Dagcup too actually? Dagur calling Hiccup "brother" of course but the age difference is the most concerning bit to me LMAO. I'm more of a Riders/Defenders of Berk enjoyer, so in my head theyre like, 15 and 20. not for me. (Although in my experience Dagur fans are often the biggest freaks sorry sorry sorry sorry)

Grian doesn't know the full dark side to the Watchers, but Martyn does, Grian doesn't know the extent of what the Watchers have done to the Listeners, the ripped wings and stolen eyes, Martyn does. I've shown a bit of how much of a cult the Watchers tend to act like, the praising and love, the full dependence on them, only on the outside can you see how dangerous it is, but once you realize on the inside, its often too late to get away) (Grian realizes later Martyn was right, but hes still stuck in the void by himself.)

Grian doesn't know the extent of those jail cells under Watcher builds or how they get rid of servers they consider beyond guidance. (send the floods, its not a sin if god commands it)

Martyn also knows that Grian was just a plan to the Watchers, so when Grian says the Watchers are his family, or that everyone else abandoned him, Martyn says they're lying to him, its a desperate attempt to get Grian out of their control. Because regardless of if Grian joined the Watchers or not, they still would've shut down the server and made him leave with the rest of the players. Or just kidnapped him. Who knows at this point really ? The past is in the past.

I feel it's not fair that tva agents just not having punishment for what they did, I meant yeah they hot brain washing but they still have choice and option yet they showing they enjoying torture other peoples

So I will give them punishment in my story the timelinea that they send to the void for getting worst than death, they becoming an entity and the entity want tva workers got punishment. The entity will vore tva worker's souls and make them suffer, the only reason why the entity not attack tva base it was because my oc, she protecting a person but unfortunately tva workers are packet of deal so she protect everyone but she can't hold the entity forever , they will come and claims they justice

But fortunately for tva worker if they change becoming good and better person the entitiy will only kill them slow painfully and let they souls do to afterlife but if they not thw entity will eat their soul and make them suffer for eternity.

So what do you think about this punishment? Is this too cruel or not enough cruel?

I don't necessarily need them to be "punished" I just want the narrative to unequivocally show what they are doing is wrong. Have the character actually have the face what the did with the ends justify the means treated as the cowardly excuse it is.

Not that I'm against them getting the Twilight Zone twist and they themselves being but on trial and condemn for doing harm to the multiverse. These smug bootlicks having to face a true cosmic entity like the watchers, Eternity or death herself and realizing just how small and insignificant they are, love it.

They characters that individuals could be redeem but if so they need to admit what they did first and not just go, "I thought I had a good reason to strip and murdered children" and then proceed as if they were always good guys. They have to work to make up for what they did.
