Found some even more rare Disney Fairies media

It had been known for some years that there was a "Tales and Activities DVD" called Fira's Perfect Tea Party, which involved a single-narrator story with book assets, and whose DVD story footage had been widely known to be on YouTube for a decade by now.

However, there are at least 2 other known DVDs in that series: Tink and the Fancy Dress, and Lily's Colorful Garden. A handful of copies of them are known to exist in the wild, seemingly packaged with "Playmates Toys"-distributed Disney Fairies merch in 2006, and seemingly also with Milton Bradly Disney Fairies board games. Some have been found and have had photos of the discs posted on Reddit, but neither had their contents be known to have been ripped.

I've now come across footage of Tink and the Fancy Dress (Video on top). More info below about the discs:

In addition to the 3 discs above, the Reddit thread also has someone mention a Rani disc, of which none have been found online that I know of, and is seemingly the rarest Disney Fairies media known to mankind if it does exist. Other extremely rare media like Ring of Belief and the English version of Prilla and the Fading Fairies have at least had some images emerge of them.

Lily's Colorful Garden also seems to be very rare. DVDs do exist, but no footage of its story has been found or ripped.

The 3 discs also has something as rare as a Disney Fairies trailer that was not about any of the movies (Shoutout to "Pixie Hollow Archives" on YT who had become the first to rip it in August 2024):

Tinker Bell x Stitch

So, I found this random Tumblr post of someone sharing their Phantom Manor pins, and I found something particularly interesting about them. The pins have cast Tinker Bell as Melanie Ravenswood, the bride of Phantom Manor at Disneyland Paris, and Stitch as Jake the Foreman, Melanie's ill-fated fiancé. And yes, the pins also have Stitch cast as the Phantom, aka Henry Ravenswood Melanie's cruel father (but we're going to ignore that part).

The thing that got me hooked was the pin where Tinker Bell and Stitch are sitting together, arms linked, on a picnic date. I know, call me “weird” or whatever you'd like, but I thought it was really cute and wholesome for some reason, despite knowing what actually happens to Melanie and Jake on that picnic date.

With the new Disney Fairy book that came out this week, it got me thinking about the franchise again and I don't remember there ever being merch of Queen Clarion, aside from when the franchise first started with her book design. But I don't remember any dolls or figures or anything of her movie design. Granted I wasn't into the Pixie Hollow toys at the time, so I probably just never saw them. But it's a shame because I think Queen Clarion would make a beautiful LE Doll.

Returning to this bc I'm bored and I'm not fond of how I worded it

I say in every version had an implied aspec or arospec society but the early version of the movie Tinker Bell had some talks to include romance in one of the drafts, a "romeo and juliet" love story similar to Secret of the Wings' Milori and Clarion. SoTW is sort if the opposite of that story, given that they don't die and the conflict actually involves their safety in SoTW. It's also implied to have aging in that early version, or at least acknowlegement of time passed like they say things like "when I was little" in some storyboards, and schools and concerts and goth fairies and such... meaning nothing those are problems with that version lol

In the Fairy Dust/haven trilogy romance is a huge thing, Terrence wishes he could have Tinker Bell love him ehich seems only partially canon to the other books, and so does a lot of. Tinker Bell's heartbreak over Peter is hanging over her head like a cloud throughout the books, which take place after Peter Pan. Tinker Bell takes the "banishment" seriously after the events of Peter Pan, even after she took the darlings home. In the movies, Tinker Bell and Terence never put a label on the relationship and the only acknowledgement is from other fairies. They seem content in this rather than with the books. That book with Peter Pan and the thing with Terrence basicially the only mention of the feeling of heartbreak, and it's usually due to a lack of receprication and the characters never end up in a "official relationship".

Peter Pan (the original book and movie) had some weird romance tropes and things that are really weird to me, so it's great to see that Fairies is the different than Peter Pan. In the book and film there are a bunch of weird allegories and Tink's body is described at some point in the original. How strange that a spinoff changes this and is the exact opposite, not just in the fact that it doesn't contain these strange undertones, but it turns a character who is somewhat romance/jealously focused, gives her her own series, and this series has nothing to do with Peter Pan and there is like 0 jealousy romance. That she only had "one emotion at a time" meaning jealous and obsessed fairies are very much a normal thing having their emotional extremes on one end and another until this spinoff would change it. They say they sanitized it but you know they are healthier and happier lol, and I'm very happy Tink and Peter went no contact for a while XD

Familial love and found family are important in both universes, and fairy culture is so different. When I said they "dont count their age" I know that was phrased pretty poorly, but essentially they consider themselves ageless beings who do not "give birth" but rather "arrive to existence"- age is acknowledged of course and there are maturity differences but most that is showcased is emotional maturity and familarity with the world they live in. This is mentioned in the other books. Clarion and the ministers/Milori/fairy mary and gary are implied to be the only adult coded characters. Fairies can live for a long time at least 500 years in the movies, because of that there can be gaps in fairy age or maturity but in this society given that you are never a baby/child/young adult/adult/senior (sort of) and given the differences even in celebrations and customs of course it's not a romance focused society. Of course they are not focused on dating or romantic relationships as much as humans would. Imagine you spend your entire life looking a tween, then when you turn 100 you have wisdom and look like youre looking middle aged a but youre a senior citizen. Imagine siblings being such a rarity in your universe that you are best friends with your twin/triplets simply because nobody is ever related to each other. (they are mostly twins or triplets) Imagine living in a world with no changing climate and no clocks, yet you still celebrate birthdays and tell time with the moon and sun. Imagine spending every day doing what you love and any other social activities sort of come and go. Imagine spending all day with others with similar hobbies (frolicking with your best friend) or your "parents" being literal babies who laughed for the first time and the laugh magically traveled to your place of birth and having no ancestral lines outside of baby laughs > you exist. They are on a different level from us humans completely as a society and species, which fits in to the "aspec deity" trope to a T. Fairies aren't met to fit these roles, they come in to existence as a weird hybrid of young adults and teenage kids, lacking a family structure that isn't "twin" lol like in the real world. So of course their society isn't like the hyper romance focused one like ours. It's not prioritized, and not like our society. And yet the society still has structure and everyone is able to exist peacefully and they are not lacking anything important by potentially missing out on other kinds of relationships.

No romance prioritized or familial dynamics either other than sibling ones, the others are often mentor/mentee or often friendships, and relationships with the monarch. There is textual evidence that mentorship and friendship are some of the most common relationship dynamics. Even enemies, in Vidia's case who is a menace to society. There are several contexts in which human relationships can be in, and fairies don't live in a a universe without nuance of them but with different relationship contexts given how their society and species are.

And I believe that the long distance between Clarion and Milori- and how they were able to get back together after all of that time and seperation and also draw a line in a sand when the safety of others is in question just shows how romance might behave different. How would they yearn for eachother compared to the typical allo in this society, that rarely prioritizes relationships like this.. only sometimes has them making it "special"... There seems to be equally valued relationships, one is not devalued more than anothter

Some of the only mentions of romance in this entire franchise are Milori/Clarion and Tink/Terence so I claim them and you should too.

When I was a kid & watched the tinkerbell movies/read the pixie hollow books for the 1st time, I assumed the fairies were all ace/aro, though those aren't the exact terms I would've applied at the time

See, since the fairies didn't seem to have any concept of marriage, and since they obviously didn't have kids the way humans do, I figured there was no need for them to date

So anyways, I've decided at the age of 23 that I was mostly right, in that all the fairies are ace, and a majority of them are aro as well, because I like the concept of an entirely asexual society that doesn't put a lot of stake in romance
