Tips to Save Money as Students in Bangalore
Living in Bangalore as a student can be exciting, but managing finances can be challenging, especially with rising living costs. Here are a few tips to help you save money while still enjoying the student life:
· Choose Affordable Accommodation: Instead of traditional rentals, consider co-living spaces like Colive rental accommodation. These provide fully-furnished spaces with amenities like Wi-Fi, housekeeping, and even community activities, all included in one package. It’s cost-effective and saves the hassle of paying for utilities separately. Check out Colive reviews to choose the best location and accommodation that fits your budget.
· Public Transport & Shared Rides: Bangalore’s public transport system, including BMTC buses and the metro, is budget-friendly and reliable. For short distances, consider using ride-sharing options like carpooling or bike rentals.
· Budget-friendly Food Options: Avoid frequent dining out by cooking simple meals at home. Many co-living spaces provide communal kitchens where you can prepare meals. Also, explore affordable food spots, especially around student areas, which offer decent meals at low prices.
· Student Discounts: Many businesses in Bangalore offer student discounts on a variety of services, including movie tickets, tech gadgets, and even gym memberships. Always carry your student ID to avail any of these benefits.
· Limit Unnecessary Subscriptions: Review your monthly subscriptions such as streaming services or gym memberships. Opt for student plans where available or share subscriptions with roommates or friends. If you choose Colive then several add on features like fitness room and cinema room come inclusive at several properties to make the stay super comfortable.
· Buy Used Books and Materials: Instead of buying new textbooks or study materials, explore second-hand bookstores or online platforms where students sell their old books. You can also share materials with classmates or access free resources from libraries to minimize spending.
By being mindful of your accommodation, travel, food, and discounts, you can save a substantial amount while making the most of your student life in Bangalore.

I've been brewing this post for far too long in my drafts, but I need more doomed!Bruce and Jason throughout universes. And it is not even always about the same Jaybin, dying in the warehouse scenarios!
Sometimes Jason is just a kid, who died in front of Batman, who maybe jumped in between Batman and the villain recklessly, to keep him safe, and whose blood stuck under Bruce's nails. His face haunts him in nightmares, still.
In other realities, Bruce meets Jason as a teen, and they never even get to become father and son officially - but they slowly get into each other's lives, until something awful happens, leaving a ghost of a smirking kid stroll behind Bruce's hunched figure for the rest of his life.
Or maybe it is one of these realities, where Jason crawls out of the Alley Crime himself, and manages to become famous in Gotham; the one, where he opens a charity fond, dedicated to people, who fight with the drug addiction. Bruce Wayne is sympathetic of a kid he meets during some of the events, and as they slowly start contacting each other more often, getting closer, he promises himself to protect him. Expect, Batman is late to save Jason Todd from the hands of yet another villain.
It could be the priest Jason Todd that meets bleeding out Batman on the stairs of the church, and who helps him out, for what he later pays with his life. Or they are not really vigilantes in any of these universes - just father and son.
And in some of these universes, they reconcile. In one of them, some of the medics connect the dots that a catatonic boy, who is covered in dirt, calling for his dad, for Bruce is Bruce's Wayne dead son, and try calling him. In another, LoA!Jason with his memory still being in a haze, crosses his path with Batman, before getting dipped in the Lazarus Pit.
But the point stands.
In all of them, Bruce Wayne is too late. In all of them, Bruce Wayne fails to save Jason Todd.
#i actually have a specific scenario in my head#basically early 20tish Jason who works as a bartender in Alley Crime#and Bruce (still Batman) who never picked up anyone after Dick#but his relationship with Dick is still strained#they try to mend things but more often than not they can't find a common ground#Bruce once visits this bar where Jason works too tired and mourning his parents that day and Jason amuses him#Jason not instantly understands Bruce is Wayne until he leaves him tips higher than 1k dollars lol#Bruce starts visit more#Jason shares his lore a little - he was picked up by the owner of the bar as a kid#they talk about books and about the fact that Jason saves money for college#Bruce helps him out ofc#he invites him to meet Alfred and Dick#everything is okay#and then... Joker happens#he takes Jason as a hostage bc he figures out that Batman knows the boy#Jason atp knows that Bruce is Batman but never confronts him about it#this time Batman comes in time#Jason tries to kill Joker but Batman stops him#so Jason doesn't kill him#they hug#and when they hug Joker shots Jason#of course Batman blames himself lmao#he might or might not fail to keep himself in check and kills Joker after this#but he instantly leaves his cowl behind because he can't allow himself to live with what happened#if you want a happy ending red hood can return in the same manner as in canon but without beefing bruce ofc#jason todd#bruce wayne#red hood#batman

NEW POST!
Today, I’m talking about grocery store prices.
I chose this topic because I’m worried. Terrible times are ahead. We’ve been writing a lot about politics—and we’ll keep doing so—but it can feel like scream-preaching to the void-choir. We’ve been wracking our brains to come up with nourishing, material strategies to help our followers through the lean times ahead.
Right now, all I want is to give you guys an easy win. If I could use my time and talents to help you folks save $20 a month, I’d be good with that. Groceries are something we all must buy in order to live. So I opened a small investigation comparing prices at a few local grocery stores.
My “small investigation” became the most time- and labor-intensive topic I’ve ever covered for Bitches Get Riches.
This investigation hauled me bodily to the summit of my abilities, then cast me down the mountainside of my own ambition into a boiling, stinking chasm of magmatic insanity.
To Hell and Back for Cheap Groceries: The Epic Investigation (and Shocking Results) of My Grocery Store Price Comparison Quest

🎀 TIPS FOR NEW ADULTS 💝

MONEY TIPS
Prioritize your emergency fund!!
Prioritizing your emergency fund is useful for saving money because it provides a financial safety net, reducing the need to rely on high-interest debt during unexpected expenses.
2. Plan your meals and cook in bulk.
Planning meals and cooking in bulk saves money by reducing food waste, lowering per-unit costs through bulk purchases, minimizing impulse buys, saving time and energy, and encouraging healthier eating habits.
3. Look to split costs with others if possible.
Splitting costs with others saves money by reducing individual expenses on shared items or services, such as rent, utilities, groceries, and transportation, allowing each person to pay a smaller portion of the total cost. I usually recommend doing this with a family member, relative, or a good friend.
4. Learn independence skills.
Learning independence skills saves money by reducing the need to pay for services such as repairs, cooking, and cleaning, allowing you to handle tasks yourself and avoid outsourcing costs.
5. Maintaining a budget.
Having a budget keeps your spending in check and makes sure that your savings are on track for the future. Budgeting can help you set long-term financial goals, keep you from overspending, help shut down risky spending habits, and more.
6. Practice no-spend days.
It refreshes a budget and prioritizes “needs” over “wants.”Try to not spend money for a set period of time, like a week or a month. Soon enough, you would have control on overspending, changed your financial management habits, and saved extra money.
7. Buy frozen vegetables.
Frozen vegetables are usually picked, processed and frozen on the same day, to preserve freshness. Unless you can guarantee your fresh vegetables are that fresh, you are just adding days of starchy conversion to your otherwise fresh vegetables.
HOPE THIS HELPS 💝

💎 Our Top 10 Tips for Making The Best out of The New Year:

Tip #1: Allow God to be your foundation.
God has to be the firmest foundation in your life. Go to him with and for everything. With the Most High, you are not only protected, corrected and forgiven, you are also loved beyond measures and guided to your highest potential. This year there will be many obstacles but remember Jesus is The Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6) and you are never alone!
Tip #2 : Be Intentional.
It’s as simple as it sounds, do everything with intention 💎 you simply can not afford to play with your potential this year. You are too valuable. Every decision, every action, and every thought should be aligned with your deeper purpose. When you approach life with clarity and focus, you create a ripple effect that transforms not only your own experience but also those around you. Embrace this mindset, and watch how opportunities flourish, relationships deepen, and fulfillment becomes a consistent part of your journey. Intentional living is not just a practice; it’s a lifestyle that leads to profound growth and connection. Always speak life into yourself and your situation. So, take a moment to reflect on your intentions and let them guide you toward a life that resonates with your true self.
Tip #3: Learn when & how to say NO.
As the new year approaches, remember that being selfish can be a positive trait. We're not suggesting you become like Ebenezer Scrooge, but it's important to know when to prioritize yourself. You cannot pour from an empty cup. Saying "no" doesn’t mean you’re failing those who love and respect you—keep that in mind.
Tip #4: If it doesn’t align, let it fly.
As the new year approaches, it's the perfect time to confidently reflect on your experiences—recognizing what worked and what didn’t. This year, you'll master the art of identifying what truly aligns with your goals and what you need to release. Trust yourself and embrace this journey ahead.
Tip #5: Self-care isn’t just a luxury, it’s a necessity.
As a woman, it's crucial to prioritize self-care. Women of BFS understand that self-care is an essential part of their journey. When you feel empowered and confident, you'll align yourself with becoming the best version of yourself. Self-care isn't just about pampering your outer appearance—though that is important—but also about nurturing your mind and soul. This is how you heal and effortlessly exist in your femininity. So, this year, self-care is a must sis. Take care of yourself.
Tip #6: If you can’t afford to buy it twice, don’t buy it once.
We told you, There is nothing soft about being broke (see post here) a game changer this year will be how you decide to invest and save your money. If you can’t afford to buy it twice, don’t buy it once. How you handle $100 will determine how you will handle $1000. Luxury is a mindset thing before an aesthetic. The fools will blow it, the wise will multiply it.
Tip #7: Stay Exclusive
Tap into your IT GIRL energy this upcoming year. Dont let everyone have access to you. This includes your body, ladies! You must protect your energy. Being exclusive also means staying true to who you are. This is how your aura is created... Have you ever seen a woman who is so authentic that she draws people in effortlessly? Her confidence radiates, and her presence is felt long after she has left the room. It's as if she has a magnetic yet mysterious quality that sets her apart from the rest. This woman is YOU this year. Tap into HER! 💋
Tip #8: Dont double back & stand on it!
9 times out of 10, you’ve been released from that experience for a reason. Whether is a job, a man, a friendship or even a bad habit! You must avoid returning to what caused you pain and hindered your purpose. Take your L’s as lessons and move forward with more wisdom and knowledge. What’s behind you can rarely comprehend what’s ahead of you, don’t bring dead weight into this new year!
Tip #9: Don't be afraid to be SEEN!!
Listen, we know all too well how much an isolation season is needed but so is your pop-out season sis. God didn’t put you in that season for you to hide all that he’s been working within you. You can do this and still be humble, and kind and still give thanks to GOD. When you pop out think of it as being released from the shackles of the enemy! THEY CAN'T HOLD YOU DOWN! So many times we get too comfortable in our preparation season; we start sleeping on the very thing we were designed to become! Don’t let that be your reality this year babe.
Tip #10: Take The Risk.
Bet on yourself! This is a year that you will be happy to do things that scare you! Believe in yourself! This is the year to embrace challenges that intimidate you! View this as a chance for personal growth and development. You will learn that when the year is done, you will appreciate the fact that you have stepped outside your comfort zone and tried; putting you in positions you never thought you'll be in! You miss 100% of of the shots you dont take. 💋

₊˚⊹ ᰔ a guide to maintaining financial wellness ᝰ.ᐟ

having good money habits can be insanely difficult. i know i personally struggle with impulsive spending, and i’m sure we’ve all fallen victim to the “i’m just treating myself” mindset. financial stress and even financial depression can feel so daunting and overwhelming, so i’m here to help you guys (and myself as well) manage your money better!
let’s begin !!
ᝰ.ᐟ set aside funds
it’s important that when every paycheck hits your bank account to immediately set aside some funds into your savings account. whether it’s 10-20% of your paycheck or even $20-$100, set aside some money into your savings!
it also might help to have that savings account be locked so that you can still put money in, but you can’t take money out. let that savings amount pile up and don’t touch it until you’re absolutely ready to make that big purchase!
ᝰ.ᐟ set aside any cash
get a piggybank or even one of those money organizing binders to set aside any cash that may come your way! keep that cash away from your wallet so you won’t be tempted to use it in any outside purchases. and, same as the first point, that cash will start to pile up!
ᝰ.ᐟ purchase needs rather than wants
let’s start getting out of that “i’m gonna treat myself” mindset!! while it’s nice to treat yourself, we really should only be doing it every once in a while. we can also find different ways of treating/rewarding ourselves that don’t require spending any money! (i can make a separate blog post on this if you guys would like!)
especially when you’re trying to save up for school, a new apartment, a new car, or whatever it may be, it’s really important to keep your purchases to only things that are absolutely necessary.
ᝰ.ᐟ keep track of automatic payments
especially if you have a subscription of any kind, keep track of when those automatic deductions from your account are happening. make note of when your next billing date is and how much you’re being charged for each month/year.
this would also be a good way to determine what subscriptions you really need/want to keep and which ones you can do without and unsubscribe to! i did a full cleanse of my subscriptions list and kept the ones i definitely wanted to keep. sometimes you never really realize how much money your losing when you’re subscribed to things that have no use to you anymore!
ᝰ.ᐟ plan accordingly
when your paycheck comes in and you have all these payments that are coming up yet you still need to buy groceries or get gas or whatever, make sure to plan your funds ahead of time! this way, it’ll help you budget for your groceries & any other necessities as well as help you determine how much money you can set aside into your savings and even calculate how much extra funds you might have to spend on for more personal things!
𝜗𝜚 final notes 𝜗𝜚
don’t let these tips make you feel like you can’t treat yourself to something! as i mentioned earlier, you can still treat yourself to nice things, but it might be best to do it once in a while! i know most of us associate success with money, and to reach success with money we have to learn to be more mindful about how we spend our money and how we manage it.
live and love, babe.
sincerely, juno ⭑.ᐟ

how to save 101
so i recently had a poll asking what you'd do if you have $10,000, and over half of the respondents said that they'd save it for something big
if you're saving for something big — like college, a car, starting a side hustle, or even financial freedom — here's some unexpected advice that actually does something. not cute. not tiny. real.
open a HYSA (high-yield savings account) at a credit union or online bank. no, not your regular bank. they usually pay literal cents in interest. but online banks like Ally or SoFi (or your local credit union) offer 4–5% APY as of now. if you’re saving over time, that compound interest builds and beats inflation. it’s not glamorous, but it works. set it. forget it. grow.
invest in an I-Bond. you heard right — a government bond. it’s basically a super-safe investment you can buy with as little as $25. I-Bonds adjust with inflation and earn interest over time. teens can buy them through a parent or guardian's TreasuryDirect account. way better than letting your money rot in checking.
don’t save — prepay. saving up for something long-term? like a course, a trip, or even SAT tutoring? instead of stashing cash, prepay now if there’s a discount or price lock. a lot of services let you pay in advance, especially if they’re small businesses. this saves you from price hikes — and yourself.
build credit (yes, really). if you’re 18 or close to it, use $10,000 as a starter safety net for a secured credit card. this builds your credit history early — a big deal for apartments, student loans, and future jobs. make one small charge monthly (like Spotify), pay it off, never miss. boring? yes. life-changing? also yes.
micro-fund a revenue-generating skill. take that $10,000 and turn it into money. Examples:
buy a domain + hosting for a blog you monetize
invest in a course that teaches design, data entry, or UX
get supplies for a hyper-niche Etsy shop (e.g. enamel pin display boards or zines)
buy an external mic and start voiceover freelancing
a 10,000 bucks won’t change your life. but how you use it might.

It's that time of year I talk about work outside of work. I give money advice to people on a low income (in the UK so I can't help with other countries unfortunately, but I can give general information and guidance).
It's getting colder, and energy bills are still quite high. For those in the UK you'll be familiar with Martin Lewis, for those outside of the UK he's a public figure who gives general money advice to the masses without it costing an arm and a leg.
Oh his website he has a guide on heating the human, not the home. Ways to save money on energy bills when it comes to it. While it's UK centric there's some good tips to help others as well.
I always find it important to share this time of year. Stay warm friends ❤️

actually good cleaning hacks from someone who’s been through some shit
Get a steam mop I don’t care how much it is or cheap, just get one
if you have a pet invest in a wet dry vacuum, you will thank me.
get cleaning cloths you actually like the feel of, if you hate microfiber get a cheap set of tea towels and use them instead. Or chop up a dead tee shirt and use that.
plug in vacuums are 2x more powerful than non-plug in vacuums. You trade sucking power for mobility with cordless, so think that over when you get one.
buying a cheap mop every time one gets moldy is cheaper than having to deal with any mold you get from using a moldy mop.
invest in disinfectant/antifungal/antiviral/antibacterial liquid for your laundry, because that stuff makes getting rid of moldy musty musky shit easy. And it cleans your cleaning cloths without getting them greasy or soapy.
to fix “I accidentally left my clothes in the washing machine too long now they smell like mold” thing, you will need antifungal laundry liquid and the literal sun. Wash your clothes on the hottest setting you can with your clothing materials in mind, add the antifungal before you start, let it go for like 2 hours. And put it in the sun to dry. Repeat if it still smells moldy, until it doesn’t anymore, works like a charm!
to clean crystalline dog piss, you will need water, a steam mop, a wet dry vacuum (depending on if it’s in a carpet) dog cleaning spray or vinegar. Basically , rehydrate the piss, clean it up with dog spray or HOT vinegarish water, grab a steam mop and steam it (if not on carpet) and viola it should be okay now.
If it’s in the carpet you will need to rehydrate the piss, then just dowse the piss with water, use the wet dry vacuum to suck up the water, repeat until water comes up clean. Use whatever pet cleaner that’s good on your carpet to get the smell out, Patch test it in the corner of the carpet before you do it on the piss spot, soak up and remaining water from the carpet until it’s dry or blow dry it if you have to. And tada you have a cleaner carpet! The same works for dog shit too.
drain snakes are your best friend if you don’t remember to get the hair out the drain.
have one sponge for wiping down the sink and one for washing your dishes, because sometimes it’s easier to use a sponge to wipe down the sink than a cleaning cloth.
You can put sponges in the dishwasher and it cleans them REALLY WELL, do it everyday if you can.
Invest in a good glass cleaner for glass because when it gets greasy it’s hell.
Koh cleaner will literally cut through grease and oil, and fat. Like it wasn’t even there, if you don’t have the money white vinegar and bi-carbs does the same thing. Though be careful because it’s reactive and might destroy your countertop or pots, just invest in koh your life won’t be the same. (I can clean all the grease off things, that’s how good it works. Plus it doesn’t smell!!!)
Replace your toilet cleaner every 3 months, or make sure you don’t let it fester. That’s more of a hassle than replacing it every now and then.
Get a good dish soap, because you can use it for everything because of how mild it is.
After mopping always steam mop otherwise it will always be streaky or tacky, idk why but steam mops fix this 9/10 times.
there’s more, but I;m too tired.
#-pop#disability#I’m disabled and these hacks have saved me so much suffering and pain#I’m always in pain after cleaning but this way is way easier to clean shit up#STEAM MOPS FOR LIFE#if you have no money for a vacuum there’s these fancy sweeps 🧹 that have 2 discs that move and collect the dust and crumbs they#Are SO WORTH IT#cleaner#cleaning#laundry#cleaning tips#decluttering#mental health stuff#activism stuff

hey. hey. did you know if you buy a rotisserie chicken ($5-10 depending on where you get it) you can dig into it like a rat, then strip and save the rest of the meat, then make as much stock as you can fit in your largest pot by simply simmering the bones with herbs and veggies or veggie scraps for 6-8 hours, thereby easily doubling the value of your purchase and making the best soup base ever?
