hhhh. to be as vague as possible, I'm thinking about how metatext, marketing, and branding have a really direct impact on shaping fan communities and fan reactions to indie media, but to get any more specific would require using examples of things that I think were done poorly, which would probably incite. a certain amount of discourse. because these would be examples from things that I overall like and therefore have followers who are also fans of them. and also because I'm specifically thinking about indie works with really close relationships to their fan communities, their official pages would probably end up interacting to response and. hhhh. I cannot be bothered. maybe in a few weeks when I've had time to re-draft what I want to say a few times.

specifically in reference to the tumblr tmnt community, i'm beginning to notice more than a few blogs that are tmnt (specifically rottmnt) blogs, but have now been adding some transformers fandom posts.

is there a correlation between the tmnt fanbase also liking the transformers franchise and such?

or is there a causation between the fact that most of ys know of and love the cass apocalyptic au and now @somerandomdudelmao has talked about liking transformers and even having another blog for it possibly?

Watching G1 Transformers "Five Faces of Darkness Part 1"

The Sole Survivor of the Great Robot Massacre of 1986. Because, well. Soundwave Superior.

OK so I'm gonna try and do season 3! All my faves are dead, I barely know these new guys, so Galvy's gonna have to get me through this.

New intro for s3! Significantly less cool recording of the theme song. And wow it definitely feels lame compared to season 2.

A quick recap of the last few minutes of the movie and we pick up where we left off. And the remaining cons are all tired and sick aw.

And they promptly tear each other apart fighting over energon. Scrap they really need Megsy. And where the fuck is Soundwave?

OK so Cyclonus is apparently the new Soundwave, the loyal lackey. And OK "they were the same guy" So confirmed Galvy is Megs?

And the Autobots are watching The Olympics! Yay, some world building! Roddy's opening it up and is struggling with speeches and all.

Cut to Blurr! I guess he doesn't get killed off in five minutes in this show. And THE CITY'S TRANSFORMATION COG?! WHAT!?

A CITY CAN TRANSFORM. Holy. Fucking Shit. (Did they ever make a toy of that?)

Some creepy things are watching on TV. New villains! Man season 3 (despite me still grieving all the OGs) is really starting off with a bang.

Wow where was this Spike in Season 1 and 2?! He's standing up to giant monsters like damn. Carly's here too, wonder where she was in the movie?

Springer and Arcee get to fight! Most fans seem to consider them Roddy's three-way in shipping so I'll head canon them that way.

(Though thanks to Cyberverse Roddy's biggest ship is with Soundwave, which is hilarious in G1 continuity)

They immediately assume the Cons did it but like...did they? I think for once it wasn't them. They are crawling around Uni's head looking for Galvy.

Uni luckily has the movie on DVD in his head so they can recap where Galvy went. And Cyclonus is looking for him! I wonder why he's doing this and not Soundwave? Maybe SW doesn't know he's Megs.

And there's Galvy! All half-drowned and shit. Our sole remaining protagonist, everyone!

Some totally culturally sensitive humans are yelling at Blaster. Oh boy, this should be...awkward.

Anyway Roddy is tracking the cons! And look Perceptor survived too! I feel so relieved, I almost thought everyone died. And Grimlock too!

Arcee and Springer get captured pretty fast! They escape but damn you guys. Are you gonna get damsel led a lot so Roddy has someone to save?

What is this new pig thing? Also Arcee's personality has changed a lot from the movie, she's waay sassier now.

THERE'S SOUNDWAVE THANK PRIMUS! I was worried he'd quit when Megs died.

Roddy actually feels sorry for them!? OMG RODDY YOU ARE IMMEDIATELY MY FAVORITE HERO IN THIS SHOW?

But holy shit this episode had so much action and story and character! I mean I still prefer the s1-2 cast but damn, how come they didn't get this kind of epic narrative building?
