Leadfoot is an autobot from ark tyran, a different ark from ark primax, the one most of the autobots we've seen so far have come from. Tyran was once quite the prosperous place, but it quickly fell into decline due to ineffective leadership and was running out of fuel to keep going to the point where the titans that made up the ark had to split to form smaller vessels multiple times to gather energy and return to the ark to try to power it again. Until they encountered the quintesons, who tricked them into believing they were the creators of the transformers and enslaved ark tyran to serve their own pourposes

Leadfoot is one of a few escaped slaves from tyran and witnessed much tragedy as he and his fellow slaves fought for freedom. This tragedy has hardened him to life and never thought him any manners, due to his upbringing as a slave leadfoot is determined to never again allow someone to take his autonomy away. Growing his body and mind so he can overpower any would be subjugator, one day he will rally with his fellow autobots to take back his home armed with weapons of his design to a new age of peace but for now he readies for war.

Upon arriving on neighboring autobot space, leadfoot sought out the wreckers to gain the skills necessary to bring down the quintesons all by himself, ignorant to that fact that was impossible, but he worked hard and got in, and now works to fulfill his promises. But most often his nobel endeavors get misconstrued as rude and aggressive because he has an incredibly short fuse. Even getting the name of one of his machines wrong would be enough to set him off into a string of swear words, and insults, but as a wrecker the young Wheeljack looks up to him and wants to learn how to become a wrecker just like him.

At first he was annoyed at the constant pestering, but he starts growing on it after a while.

So for August's Patreon-backed @tfwiki picture update, I thought I'd follow up on the Generation 2 vibe from last month (and with the release of the G2-heavy Toxitron Collection) and (almost) complete the run of Go-Bot mold toys! Introduced in 1995, these little 1:64-scale bots were made to be compatible with Matchbox and Hot Wheels tracks and playsets, and this mold-set would be redecoed a LOT over the following decade. Motormouth above, for example, first caem with transparent robot bits, but the second-wave release was entirely opaque.

Fellow second-waver OPTIMUS PRIME is mostly just an opaque version of wave 1's clear-red Firecracker, but with some extra blue paint on the helmet to make him Optimussier.

Wave 3 was all classic G1 bots in strange new decos. Say hi to BUMBLEBEE, FRENZY, IRONHIDE and MIRAGE (the decos were probably picked before the names were).

Wave 3 SOUNDWAVE is infamous for his bright deco. But what's with that Takara version, with Wave-2 opaque Gearhead's robot parts? Well, that's because the Takara release was gang-molded with...

...the Takara-release MEGATRON and OPTIMUS PRIME, the only three Go-Bots released in Japan. Basically, all 6 Go-Bots are cast from the same set of molds, so if you change one plastic color on any of the 6, you're changing the color for several others in the set. As demonstrated here...

See the pattern? Bear in mind that the rightmost bots have green and gold paint on their car panels, the underlying plastic is black.

These molds would be re-used as the "Spychangers" for 2000's Takara series Car Robots, which got imported as Robots in Disguise in 2001, and I'm not going into all of THOSE here. But there's a lot (the top row on the above pic is just the start!), and I'm focusing on the new pics, so moving on...

Late in the 2003 Universe line, a new batch of G1 characters in Spychanger form were released as KB Toys exclusives, using a set of molds originally planned for G2 but ultimately not released until RiD, like SILVERSTREAK on the left, and new molds made specifically for RiD, like OPTIMUS PRIME here.

The very last release of a Go-Bot/Spychanger style mold came in late 2007, when Takara offered a free "OPTIMUS PRIME FIGURE" with the preorder of the 2007 Transformers movie on DVD/HD-DVD through Paramount Pictures Japan. This little sucker is extensively painted, let me tell you.

And with this, I've taken wiki pics of 76 out of the 88 "finished" Go-Bots/Spychanger toys! Only 12 rare/unreleased items left! Whoadang! ALSO… I've now made over 2500 toy pics for the wiki, many of which are multi-toy pics! Jambalaya, that's a lotta bots!

🪐 Legacy Denied: Terrans, Procreation, and the Abandonment of Hope

In Transformers: EarthSpark, Optimus Prime and Megatron see the Terrans as a symbol of renewal — a chance to begin again. The Terrans are not just new life, but new Cybertronian life born on Earth, outside of war, hate, or faction.

Optimus and Megatron treat the Terrans as:

They are embraced as a miracle — the ultimate symbol of peace.

But this faith rests on one silent assumption: that Terrans can or will continue to be born.

🧬 No Future Generation?

Unlike traditional Cybertronians, Terrans:

Are not forged or sparked through known Cybertronian processes,

Do not procreate or replicate,

Were born via unique emotional bonds and the Emberstone.

And as of now:

No second generation of Terrans has appeared naturally,

Chaos Terrans emerge accidentally, without bonds,

There is no structure to ensure continuity.

A race that cannot reproduce is not evolving — it is ending.

If the Terrans are the final spark of a dying species, then Megatron and Optimus have misunderstood. They are not hope. They are the last flicker before the dark.

📚 Canon Beyond EarthSpark: Other New Cybertronians

Across other continuities and comics, Cybertronians do re-emerge in other ways:

Protoforms lost during war or in cryo-stasis are discovered (e.g., IDW, Marvel),

Artifacts like the AllSpark or the Matrix reawaken dormant sparks,

Human/Cybertronian hybrid technology births techno-organic life,

Some beings are created via residual energy and raw materials.

From G2 lore:

Carzap was created in Japan in Blackrock Corporations’ Tsukuba Laboratory. He felt a strong bond to his Earth homeland.

Rapido, Windbreaker, Turbofire, and Skram were born from Earth’s cyberfactories, combining human and Cybertronian tech.

Windbreaker followed a deceased relative’s legacy — implying continuity and generational evolution.

Leadfoot was animated by the Creation Matrix as part of Megatron’s next generation of Decepticons.

The Axelerators played a major role during conflicts involving human facilities like the Large Hadron Collider.

From Generation 2: Redux:

In 1993, Optimus Prime and the Autobots worked with Earth Defense Command to establish Cyberfactories across Earth.

These factories created new Cybertronians with full Earth citizenship.

Despite being neutral at first, these bots chose their own allegiances.

Cyberfactories appeared in:

Japan (Tsukuba Laboratory),

United Kingdom (creation site of Pyro),

United States (Texas — Clench),

Spain, Germany, Brazil — where additional second-generation Cybertronians emerged, each with localized roles, identities, and cultural imprints.

Unlike the Terrans, these Generation 2 Cybertronians were born in different Earth countries and developed localized identities. This positioned them as natural diplomatic bridges between Earth cultures and Cybertronian heritage. They were:

Multicultural by origin,

Politically recognized as citizens,

Not limited to one family or one emotional bond.

Their diversity made them diplomats. The Terrans’ emotional imprinting makes them dependents.

🌌 Primordial Reproduction and the Fear of Dilution

In ancient Cybertronian history, Primus gave early Transformers the ability to "bud" — replicating themselves to increase the population rapidly. But this process came with a cost:

Excessive budding diluted the divine essence of Primus.

Over time, this created a cold, emotionless race — disconnected from the sacred.

Budding was abandoned and forgotten... until the Decepticons revived it.

The result? A rapid-breeding, coldly efficient empire that culminated in the creation of the Swarm — a destructive, soulless force.

By contrast, modern Cybertronians use the Matrix, spark fusion, or technological and emotional means:

Redline and Falcia created a new body for Twirl via spark energy — leading her to call them "father" and "mother".

Brawn and Cover Girl, a human-Cybertronian couple, had a hybrid child using Headmaster and binary bonding tech.

Some continuities even imply biological reproduction, referencing parents, chromosomes, and emotional lineage.

Terrans, born from resonance and relic, lack all of this. They are powerful — but power without freedom. A gift that is also a cage.

🧭 Generation 2 vs. Terrans — Which Future Will Be Chosen?

If Optimus and Megatron were to choose between:

Generation 2: Politically integrated, culturally rooted, Earth-aligned Cybertronians who can procreate, represent diversity, and carry Cybertronian legacy forward.

vs.

Terrans: Emotionally bound, spiritually disconnected, born of accident and silence, unable to replicate.

The choice is clear. One group is a bridge. The other is an echo.

Terrans were never meant to thrive. They were meant to symbolize hope — not build it.

🎭 The Illusion of Diversity in EarthSpark

EarthSpark presents itself as an inclusive, diverse show — celebrating neurodiversity, found family, and gender expression. However, this narrative diversity exists in contradiction to a geographic and cultural flatness:

All Terrans are born in one place: an isolated cave in Pennsylvania.

All Terrans are tied to one American family.

No other countries participate in their creation or upbringing.

Non-American Cybertronians are ignored or absent.

Meanwhile, other canons — like Generation 2 — showcase true diversity:

Transformers born in Spain, Germany, Japan, Brazil, the U.K.,

Given citizenship, names, roles, and legacies,

Rooted in Earth cultures outside the U.S.

EarthSpark sells a message of global belonging, but structurally, it isolates Cybertronian birth and identity into a narrow U.S. pipeline.

The contrast between Generation 2 and EarthSpark shows how diversity becomes branding — not structure.

💥 What Do Other Generations Have That Terrans Lack?

1. Cultural Continuity — Others are raised with Cybertronian myth and tradition. Terrans have no cultural memory.

2. Reproducibility — Others are created intentionally. Terrans are one-time accidents.

3. Spark Lineage — Others follow known systems of spark generation. Terrans are emotionally imprinted.

4. Recognition — Others are seen as Cybertronians. Terrans are seen as something... other.

5. Independence — Other new generations survive alone. Terrans need humans or collapse.

6. Mythic Status — Others fit into Cybertron’s sacred texts. Terrans are left out of the story entirely.

7. Global Relevance — Others reflect a global Earth presence. Terrans are confined to one American family.

The Terrans were never meant to thrive. They were meant to symbolize hope — not build it.

⚠️ Doomed From the Start?

If the Malto children unconsciously reject the idea of more Terrans being born — if they resist the creation of more siblings — then that hesitation becomes existential:

Terrans were raised to feel special, unique, and unrepeatable.

The Chaos Terrans threaten that uniqueness.

Spitfire is invited, but only on Twitch’s terms — just as the original Terrans were adopted on human terms.

The Terrans were adopted, not chosen.

If they refuse to welcome or replicate more life, they repeat the same failure as the generation before them.

The children failed the Terrans. Now the Terrans fail the Chaos Terrans.

A race that does not replicate, evolve, or adapt is not a species. It is a story with an ending.

And so maybe... there was never hope. Or hope died when no one chose to make more room.

These guys started shipping in July but I've only found Jazz in a store once - I've seen leftover Laser Cycles a few times, but nobody else from the deluxe wave other than one fortuitous sighting.

Good luck - hopefully Walmart has a reset coming up with an endcap of the gems of toys, but I'm not seeing much of anything other than one specific Walmart.

He used to be a prolific gold medal winning athlete, but after a string of losses, he joined the aquaspeeders to find a new meaning in life, really taking to the teachings of tlalakan more than his teammates. but now, on earth with competitive bots around, he feels that spirituality that resonated so easily with him comes into conflict with his natural competitive spirit

Aquafend is the aquaspeeder's full time infiltrator and part time heartbreaker, he likes to play with people's emotions and dive behind enemy lines, thats not to say he doesn't value his relationships, he's just been blinded by an unearned sense of fame from being the gifted kid. Long ago, he used to be a racer from velocitron but felt the waters calling to him more than the roads and made a switch. At first, he was successful, but eventually, he hit the glass celling that velocitron only had eyes for racing cars, frustrated by the unfairness of the situation his performance began to suffer and looking for a way out of the whole planet he was looking on the extranet for any autobot team that would take him, where he met the aquaspeeders.

Because their relationship with each other isn't deeply personal, the aquaspeeders keep it professional. But aquafend likes to push it sometimes. He's something of a flirt, and speedstream has never outright turned him down (unlike many other bots in his life). but she is his boss and has been pushing him aside in favor of work. That work is saving the world, mind you, but the effect is the same on him. He feels more than a little neglected sometimes, but he knows he's playing a dangerous game as after his first commitment, changing carrers ended in failure. he's become afraid of commitment as a whole.

At first, he doubted dispensor's ability to turn the tide but hung out with them anyway as an excuse to tell a new person about the aquaspeeders' escapades so he could paint himself as some big hero, but as the Apocalypse on earth continues that image of himself begins to crack but tired of running away, he commits to it, seeing dispensor as the only one that can safe the world and pushes them towards reaching their full potential, after the pepsi incident is over, aquafend's new committed charisma is able to bridge the gap between the aquaspeeders and the stormtroopers allowing them to become permanent allies, as they've discovered a very important reason to say on earth.
