After watching the two seasons of The Bear, I realized how powerful of is the editing of this TV show.
Sometimes, simple cuts between shots can transport you to so many places. Editors Joanna Naugle, Adam Epstein, Nia Imani, and Megan Mancini create something unique in every episode. Metaphorically speaking, we can visualize food for thought thanks to them and the creative team of The Bear. Those moments of contemplation when a chef or anyone involved in the kitchen, the audience can dig inside their head and feel the emotions that go from the chaos of the kitchen to the creation of a delicious dish.

Would a small article on transdermal testosterone (tgel) be interesting?
Maybe comparing the difference between the gels and the traditional way of intramuscular injection.
Also, just a side note about testosterone. It is important to have your hormone levels checked (blood work) in a periodic manner so you stay in the safe or your discussed levels. If you are still working on finding your correct dosing, please be sure to keep on top of your blood work. It is important for many reasons; blood pressure, blood thickness, too high levels can even increase your possibility of a stroke. Lower levels or fluctuations can cause mood swings, depression, irritability. So be sure to keep yourself safe and check your levels periodically, even if you have been on the same dose for years.
With love,
Zestual.

Downsides of Testosterone
These are MY experiences; this is to show what to look out for or expect when going on T. I am not a doctor, do not take my experiences as medical advice.
First thing is libido... I'm aroace and sorta sex repulsed. But my libido is up so high and I fucking hate it. (There has been talk that it changes people's sexuality, but I just think it increase whatever was there before and just... puts it into overdrive.
So, fucking hot. I am hot all the time. When I work out, I feel like I'm dying. I used to be cold all the time now I'm not.
No period(yay) but lots of discharge. (Side note my periods have always been irregular and they... disappeared before I started T. So yeah,)
Voice cracks.... I've also always had a high-pitched voice but I'm sad that I can't sing a high note anymore.
My voice was hoarse all the time (for like a month) there was no pain I just.... struggled talking.
Stinkys. Especially down there.
ACNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE for me its not a big deal because my genetics are so good (yes, I'm bragging) that I barely have any.
First week of T I was so tired it wasn't even funny.
MY EYELASHES FUCKING SHED SO FUCKING MUCH >:(
Random good thing I found funny, but animals love me more when I've been on T. Like my friend's cat hates everyone but she suddenly has started like... being near me. Stray cats are more likely to come to me now. My guinea pigs let me kiss them. My birds let me get close to them.

No do not ask me why it's the America's Funniest Home Videos theme, my friend joked about it and I said "okay." That's usually how these come to exist.

Hi! Thank you for being a great resource and advocate.
Question: How did you bring up bottom surgery to your doctor? How did they respond, and do you have any tips for people who might be anxious about bringing it up?
I have been wanting to bring it up to a doctor, but I've been too afraid. I'm worried they'll say no, or act like I shouldn't want it for whatever reason (ex. the unfortunately common misperception that transmascs don't get/need bottom surgery). I don't know anyone else irl getting phalloplasty, and I still struggle with feeling ashamed about how bad I want/need it.
Thank you, and no pressure to answer this if you don't feel up to it, for any reason.
Hello and thank you :),
When talking to your doctor bring it up less as a question. Say "I have been researching this and looking into studies and I have been doing the work and I am serious, this is something I have been thinking about for awhile and need to be happy with myself in my skin". Ask them what steps they can help you with to get you going in the right path. This helps the doctor feel you are a lot more serious, they know at this point you need it, it's less a conversation of persuasion and more of a conversation of information.
I was very straight forward with my doctor, I came at him like an information tornado, and also I remember trying to explain my disconnect between my brain and body. I actually had to teach my family doctor about it. (With that don't be surprised if your family doctor does not know much, they are general practitioners, so they may know it in a very general term).
Pro Tip: email a clinic about generic information on the procedures and bring that information with you, it's proof you have put thought into it, and that you are serious about pursuing your transformation.
This is big and brave and I am proud of you. Just take some deep breaths, maybe try to talk to a trusted person and work out the kinks in your speech prior to the appointment.
It's better to be fully prepared, sound confident, and show you have knowledge about things like how you know it will be painful, mentally taxing, and it's a huge procedure. Be realistic with your expectations.
So it's less of your asking them if you can have the procedures, and more "I need them, to be okay in my skin".
Thank you for your ask, and the appreciation 😊.
You got this! I have faith in you.
Love,
-Zestual 💙 🩷
P.s if you have any more questions or concerns please feel free to contact me (or if my wording is confusing). I do not mind answering questions one bit.
