Trauma Pet Regressor flags for critters who regress to cope with and/or as a result of their trauma. They may feel like a wounded animal, a scared animal backed into a corner that can only gnash their teeth and snarl or cower in fear, a misunderstood animal in search of companionship but hesitates to seek out others due to past abuse, a stray animal who has lost their sense of belonging and struggles with self acceptance and loneliness, etc. (please reblog if you save)!

For regressors who grew up surrounded by lots of violence , anger and aggression , whether due to family , their schools , living in an unsafe area , or anything else , and as a result are rather neutral and / or unaffected by violence and anger from others , seeing it as just a routine part of life because of how common it was or still is for them .

The blueish gray symbolizes the walls that one has to put up when in situations like that , the bright pink and purple symbolizes resilience and bravery , the pastel pink and purple symbolizes softness and the strength that comes from letting yourself be vulnerable .

Regression flag

We've never really liked the meanings behind the colors of the age/pet regression flags we have seen so I tried my hand at making a general regression flag

Dark gray-green: Unregressed states.

Green: Mental health, as green is often used as the color for mental health awareness.

Blue: Trauma, as blue is sometimes used for trauma and PTSD awareness.

Light purple: Involuntary regression, purple is the opposite of yellow with is being used for voluntary regression.

Yellow: Voluntary regression, yellow is the opposite of purple with is being used for involuntary regression.

White: healing

While this was made mostly with age and animal regression in mind it can also be other forms of psychological regression, such as developmental regression.

Edit: Added a alternative version with arrows in the center to represent both regression itself, and blurring together of experiences that may happen while regressed

Something about normally being a pretty high-functioning alter with hardly any trauma responses to things, late 20s with no age sliding, pretty well-liked in the system, etc etc

... But for some reason getting stuck at like 15-16 because of trauma regression and not able to get back to your "normal" self no matter how hard you try

🫂 Happy PTSD Awareness Day 🫂

Growing up, I thought about becoming a therapist for people because I could see/feel people carrying a lot of heavy stuff weighing down on them, internally. It's been a long while since I've studied psychology and I'm not a licensed professional. So while I can't offer any help from my own experience, I can at least share Dr. Snipes' channel and her playlist focused on the subject of PTSD & C-PTSD.

I hope anyone out there who finds this post gets something useful out of this.

I'm sorry for whatever you've gone through that brought you here, but I hope you know that you are loved, accepted, and not judged here.

regression, at its core, is a trauma response. many of us have been the subject of abuse, negligence, and several other unspeakable acts that no child should ever go through and use regression as a coping mechanism to process, come to terms with and hopefully heal from their personal trauma. be mindful of this and refrain from entering their safe space with the intent of policing or harassing them as well as sharing possibly triggering details of your own experiences. of course you can relate to their struggles and express your sympathies, but please vent about your trauma on your blog rather than the tags or comments of their posts or their inbox.

I don't rlly have a lot of words rn . Uhhh here's a moodboard based off of the agere flag I made mostly for myself cus it got 50 notes somehow .

I genuinely expected no one to relate to this at all . Just thought it would get 3 notes at most . Not to sound corny but the fact that it like actually resonated with lots of ppl rlly made me feel seen and that I wasn't alone . So I guess I'm making this moodboard to commemorate that .
