#trying to catch all the bugs in acnh

Playing ACNH is like the most fun I've had in a game in awhile. I am so excited about tomorrow

I’ve been playing acnh a lot recently and was thinking of how Jason, Micheal and Danny johnson would react to it, learning how to play it etc, do you think they’d enjoy it or not care? :)

Um… I know I’ve been gone for a long time. I don’t know. I just had this itch to write today and decided to do this ask that’s been in my inbox forever. Hope you like it.

Jason Voorhees

Jason is a curious observer. The first time he saw you playing Animal Crossing, Jason watched from a distance silently so as to not disturb you playing your game. He could see how engrossed and passionate you were about the game when studying your facial features. It makes him happy to see you happy. 

He wouldn’t express much interest in the game mechanics or the adorable characters, but he does find amusement in the peaceful and carefree nature of the virtual world. The game reminds him a lot of Crystal Lake and the measures he takes to protect it, assuming the main point of the game is to protect the forest, right? 

If you ever sit down with Jason and try to teach him how to play, well it may take awhile to teach him and i mean a very long time. He is confused. He’ll probably tilt his head in confusion, trying to understand the appeal of catching virtual bugs and fishing in a serene village while struggling to figure out the controls. Why do it in a game when you could go outside to catch bugs and fish in real life by the beautiful lake outside the cabin? 

Despite his stoic demeanor, Jason will secretly appreciate the joy it brings you and silently support you gaming endeavors. He may even get on the game and surprise you every once in a while with a virtual gift or gesture to help you with your progress.

Michael Myers

The first time Michael saw you play Animal Crossing, he was intrigued (if that is what you would call it). He’d silently walk around the couch and sit beside you, watching you with a blank and unchanged stare. I don’t know what you’d expect from him. He shows no discernible emotion ever. Anyways, you don’t realize he is sitting right next to you – since you're so deep into your game – that when you do notice him, you get the jumpscare of your life. Thanks Michael. 

Michael finds Animal Crossing so interesting because it’s so peaceful and starkly contrasts with his reality which is full of violence and death. He’s not surprised that you would like something so peaceful, calming, and harmonious. You and him have very different interests and disinterests. Who is to judge though? He’s not gonna judge you because your interests and disinterests make you who you are. You being you is what drove him to you in the first place. 

He doesn’t understand the charm of talking animals and virtual activities, but as long as it doesn’t interfere with his plans, he won’t mind. Michael will tolerate your gaming hobby just as long you aren’t screaming and cursing at your game 24/7 then it shouldn’t be an issue (I don’t see why you’d be yelling at it in the first place). 

If you ever want to rant about your game, Michael is there to listen. It might seem like he’s not with that blank and unreadable expression he always has, but trust me he is. Did you get a new animal friend or new building? Are you frustrated because your best tools break? He’s sitting there taking it all in.

The Ghost Face/Danny Johnson

Out of all the three, Danny is the most likely to take the most interest in Animal Crossing, finding joy in the lighthearted and whimsical atmosphere of the game. He would notice you playing and, with a mischievous smile, offer to teach you how to play by suggesting to guide you through the ins and outs of the game. Spoiler alert, Danny has no clue what he’s doing so don’t feed his narcissistic ego even more.  

Danny, being the competitive person he is, will most definitely turn it into playful competition. He would challenge you to see who could catch more bugs or find more fossils. Stay on your toes because Danny is a fast learner. Once he learns the ropes of the game, he will outperform you any day of the week. 

Danny will often suggest date nights playing Animal Crossing, organizing in-game activities like fishing contests or fossil hunts. Oh great! More competitions. One of his favorite things to do when doing Animal Crossing dates with you is customizing y'all's virtual home. It’s a great time consuming project to be able to express y’all’s creativity together, fostering a sense of unity between you and Danny while sharing accomplishment, even if it’s just a game. 

Danny also enjoys leaving little surprise gifts or notes within the game for you as a way to express affection and to add an element of mystery to both y’all’s Animal Crossing experience.

Gonta ACNH 🐝

this is not my usual content... but just wanted to share this funny thing that happened to me in ACNH ^^;;

(i teared up but it was still kinda funny)

so... i made another nintendo switch profile so i can make a Gonta character and make him a cute house with bugs and stuff!!... right??

everything was fine... Gonta (aka me playing as him) was shaking some trees... and as expected, wasps fell down the tree. we had our net equipped... but failed to catch the wasps so he got stung-- which i was trying to avoid !! (Danganronpa fans, iykyk)

AND to top it all off... when i went back to his tent... the song "K.K WESTERN" WAS PLAYING ON THE RADIO AND THAT JUST-- THE TIMING ??!! 😭💀 (again, iykyk)

W H Y do i always have to get reminded of his trial/execution??!! i didn't even see it entirely bc i was so devastated and every time i just get jumpscared by it one way or another 😭😭

Catch-Up

A little catch-up post on my time with my adventures in Animal Crossing Gamecube! This isn't my first time playing this game, but it has been a hot minute since I last played over the years. I'm currently playing ACNH as well since it launched, but that's for another time! 🌱🌼🌱🌼🌱 Anyway, I started my play-through on 5/11/24! Town's name is Pinwheel, usually I'd name it Pinwheels but character limits! Town's fruit is pears and my town's villagers started off with: Tutu, Billy, Eloise, Emerald, Dizzy and Buzz. (Towns a bit bigger now though. I'm sure you'll see!) I thought Emerald was gonna be my favorite villager but I've grown an attachment to Tutu! Her Gamecube model is so cute and we've become besties in the game, although she did mention she wanted to leave after announcing this too me. Comedy Gold!

Anyway, I somehow convinced her not to move! And we're still pals! She was even the one who delivered me a gift in person on my Birthday (May 18th)! Wow! Donkey Kong!

As for progress, I've made a pretty good dent into collecting all the fish and fossils, but my bug collection could use some work...! 🐟🦴🐛 I'm also trying to collect all the Green-themed furniture as well as the Lovely set! I've been lucky to get so many pieces so early. I've been collecting as many plant items as well, which have been going great! 🌱🌿🌵 And as for my debt, I'm on the last one! The BIG ONE! I'm taking my time with it tbh. I suppose I should also mention I'm not one for Time-Traveling, in any of the Animal Crossing Games. I just don't like! Personally, I feel like it hurts the vibe of the game, but that's me. Anyway, I can't think of anything else of importance for my silly Animal Crossing blog just yet so here's this! I'm obsessed with the frog model in this game.🐸

the thing about like google tailored search algorithms is like. Okay sometimes it's helpful right. I've been playing a lot of animal crossing again recently and I'm really into the bug catching and the fish collecting etc etc so i Google a lot to figure out oh what fish can I catch this month what's the spawn conditions etc etc.

so like i google "hammerhead shark" and it'll autofill "acnh" and all the results will be like gamefaqs and reddit threads and people talking about trying to catch it and offering advice and its super helpful However this leads me to

giraffe stags are the longest stag beetle species in the world and they're native to indonesia and in acnh they come out in july and i have reason to believe they're relatively rare/difficult to catch but i wouldn't know because my game is only in june rn

anyway the reason this is a problem For Me is that in my real actual life i have a pet giraffe stag and right now he's just a larvae he's a baby

anyway whenever i try to google to remind myself what time of year his species pupates so i can keep an eye on him and make sure the conditions are safe/ideal all i get is

Takaaki would have a plain island in ACNH. While Chiaki would have a cutely decorated island. It'd be full of cute stuff and also decorated with the Super Mario decorations. It'd be so cute and Takaaki would love going to her island to just look at her amazing decorations. Chiaki would try to help Takaaki on making his island less plain and boring, but he'd refuse. He was just too busy taking care of all the house renovation bills.

And he's also trying to catch all the bugs and fish and get all the fossils. They'd have so much fun just working together on each others islands and helping out with some things they're missing.

if chrollo played animal crossing, some headcanons:

— probably has one of the cool exclusive switch models because shalnark saw it at gamestop and the troupe pitched in to buy (steal) it for him for his birthday

— chrollo plays animal crossing simply because other games confuse him too much. for someone who's so quick-witted and intuitive, he sure does struggle with figuring out the controls. he tried minecraft once. once.

— something he doesn't understand at first is that things reset daily and that you have to sell things to earn money; "what do you mean i can't steal this from nook's cranny? absurd." he will continue to smack rocks with his shovel until it breaks, convinced he can get more stones out of it... somehow.

— that being said, he definitely cheats. you would catch him with his nose buried in the game in the middle of winter, but it's clearly autumn in the game. you would look at him with an eyebrow raised, and he'd say the snow made his island look ugly and he refused to deal with it any longer. understandable!

— probably spends real life money on deepweb animal crossing websites, making shady ass trades with randos on the internet to earn an absurd amount of bells and rare furniture

— if you asked him who his favorite villager was, he'd give you a pensive look before bit of panic set into his eyes. he hadn't thought about that. what was the point in choosing a favorite? there were far too many to pick from, he thought.

"does tom nook count?"

you knew he simply chose tom, because not only is Tom a tanuki (just like him) but he's probably the only character who's name he ever remembers. "sure, chrollo," you chuckle, "that counts"

— his island's native fruit is apples or cherries :) but he tries really hard to collect all of them !! definitely has a bamboo forest going that he's very proud of.

— surprisingly good at decorating the homes. happy home academy loves him

— his video game interests are slim, but when he's into it, he's a completionist. dedicated to collecting every fossil, bug, creature, artwork, and recipe. especially the artwork. when redd comes to visit, chrollo doesn't realize that he sometimes sells forgeries. upon realization that he spent his hard earned bells on fake art, he nearly throws his switch across the room. his google search history then looks something like :

"how to kill in animal crossing"

"acnh murder in game"

"how to steal from redd anch"

"using nen on acnh", and

"how to kidnap and hold animal crossing villagers for ransom"

— he's a fairly brave man, but few things scare him more than, ironically, the in-game spiders. he tried to catch a tarantula once, but when it jumped him and knocked his character out, he decided then and there he'd never go near one of those things again.

"chrollo, those things sell for like 8,000 bells. it's worth it to try and catch them..."

"and put myself and my island residents at risk?" he would retort, entirely serious. he genuinely believes that you can die in the game and lose all of your save data, because phinks told him so, and it's funnier this way. no one on the troupe wants to break it to him.

"this isn't greed island, dear.... it's.... animal crossing....."

"precisely. this is much higher of a risk."

— his eyes genuinely teared up when he got knocked by wasps. you thought you saw a tear slide down his cheek. but the sigh of relief he emitted when his character woke up again was rather cute

— when he figured out you could do face paint, he immediately made his little tattoo as a design. he needed your help, a lot of help, but it turned out pretty nice. the frustration of navigating his boomer technology knowledge washed away when you saw the smile on his face once it was accomplished. worth it.

in conclusion, i just think it would be neat. :)

quick headcanon post because making these is my jam! fd characters playing *shuffled through my notes* ANIMAL CROSSING NEW HORIZONS!

alex - he had acnh from the get go. he started rumors like “oo if you play the pan flute near the dock u can catch better fish :)” and people (tod) fell for it. he decorates with incredibly random island and has no theme, but is trying. would probably have - simon, hamphrey, biskit, papi, lobo, vladimir, wart jr, rod, ameila and gonzo

tod - chaotic evil. goes on “aesthetic” islands and complains about the lag. hits his villagers with a net, gets the dlc to ruin all their houses, draws phallic imagery on the message board, completed ONLY his fossils. he has themes broken up around, mainly just what he calls “AAAAcore” and it’s a bunch of decoy ducks. would probably have - pate, curlos, chadder, velma, hippeux, limberg, claudia, broffina, nibbles and harry

carter - plays but only to be a completionist. tries to get all the nook mile achievements, spends hours time traveling for redd to complete the art section of his museum, completed his critterpedia in a month thanks to time traveling. doesn’t care what villagers come through, lets them leave whenever (except for one!) and just has a regular island. would probably have - eugene, jambette, boyd, lionel, goose, drago, bill, benedict, boomer (never letting him leave) and huck.

terry - actually tries to make her island cute. will (and had) cried over failing to catch a bug or fish. she pours hours into decorating various parts. her theme is sort of gothic, but still tropical if that makes sense. all her villagers are staying forever, and she will always do tasks for them unless she’s in a bad mood. in that case she’ll yell at her switch “FUCK OFF.” and hit them with a net. would probably have - muffy, bella, quinn, cole, pekoe, winnie, queenie, diana, katt and gloria.

billy - watches information videos daily. knows all the different dialogue options and percentages so he can have a perfect island. faces an internal battle of hating kidcore and wanting to make an island kidcore. he has been playing for two years and failed to complete his museum. his house is near empty but everywhere else is beautifully decorated. would probably have - clyde, dom, pietro, tangy, bud, stitches, peaches, bluebear, punchy and teddy.

clear - refuses to play in the winter. like actually refuses to. she hates the snowmen and she hates the snowflakes. she spends all her time going to different kapp’n islands, however. she likes cherry blossom season. she secretly makes fun of people who ONLY have like, raymond or judy. she was shooting for a fairycore island, but it came out too shroomy. would probably have - kiki, stella, chèvre, lucky, buzz, hopkins, mint, june, apple and mitzi.

george - played for three months straight. then never picked up his switch for a few more months. then played and was all like “oh i’m totally gonna grind for three stars.” and then failed because he couldn’t please isabelle. he’s now resorted to just messing around on happy home paradise and complaining about how boring new horizons is. would probably have - walt, joey, pompom, peanut, rodney, big top, scoot, naomi, agnes and rio.

What video games (or types of video games) do you think the gang would like? I'm a believer that rapunzel would be a huge lover of animal crossing

As I am currently obsessed with ACNH, I can't help but agree with you. XD No high stakes, lots of creativity, being a town leader, literally shaping the land to be exactly what you want, but malleable to shift with moods. There's a competitive lean to it with getting a five-star island and with fishing and bug catching, but also with completing the museum. And it's all about making friends and keeping people happy. But she'd also be into puzzle games, like match-threes and Phoenix Wright. She has a quick mind and would love the challenge.

Eugene would like adventure games where he gets to be the hero and show off his intelligence in subtle ways. I think he'd enjoy the Legend of Zelda franchise. (And Rapunzel would enjoy watching him play them and helping with the puzzles.*) But he'd also like Mario Kart and Smash Bros: games where he can definitely win and be a little underhanded in an expected way. It would allow him to flex his mean streak. XD

Lance would like music and rhythm games, like Rock Band, DDR and Karaoke Revolution. He's also into Untitled Goose Game, because he enjoys running around causing mischief in such a harmless way that no one can get mad. But just try to stop him from playing Mario Kart and Smash Bros with his best friend.

Cassandra would be all about RPGs (but not MMO RPGs) and fighting games. She'd get to actively see herself level up and beat people in the ring. She'd definitely join in on the Mario Kart and Smash Bros.

Varian doesn't like video games, not because he doesn't like them, but because he likes them too much. They suck him in and take his attention away from all the other projects he's working on.

*I may be projecting a bit with watching my sister play Breath of the Wild and helping her in the shrines. She's brilliant, but I'm no slouch myself, and we've come up with some super creative ways to do things.

I've been intensely playing Animal Crossing the past few days and so I thought of this, hope you enjoy! 💐

Cartman:

Is really strict with his island. He got his mother to buy loads of the amiibo cards so he can only have villagers he likes.

The ones he didn't like got a net to their head everytime they dared to leave the house.

He proudly shows it off to you whenever he can.

He also let's you borrow his cards so you can have villagers you like. You're still not allowed to have his favorites though.

Stan:

Only got into it because you forced him to try it.

He enjoys it like hell.

Island's a bit chaotic, he doesn't really care about making it pretty or tidying up, but he talkes to his villagers a lot.

He's more keen on filling the museum and it brings him joy

It's nice to see him so enthusiastic about something so small.

Anything he already has he donates to your museum.

Kyle:

Really tidy town. Like. Woah. It's so neat and organized.

Wants to fill the museum like Stan, but is rather chill about it.

He's into breeding flowers.

He has all hybrids and gifts them to you when he has enough, so you can have some too.

He made a little seating area just for you guys and he is really a sucker for the holidays and always spends them together with you.

Kenny:

He doesn't have his own switch, but you let him have yours.

Sometimes even overnight so he can do his little surprises and play with Karen for a bit. You don't mind that, since you know he protects the switch with his life.

His surprises often entail drawing a penis with the path tool somewhere.

Otherwise he sends you cute letters from time to time with furniture or something similar attached.

His house is close to yours and you made him his parka in-game with the design tool. He refuses to wear anything else.

Butters:

The most adorable island you will ever see.

Everything is incredibly cute and he takes it serious. He plays every day.

He makes lists to he keeps track of the villagers he needs to talk to, what flowers he needs etc.

When you get cute DIYs or furniture you gift it to him and he adores it.

The centerpiece of his island is a pink rose heart for you.

You got him the new Hello Kitty furniture as soon as it came out.

Clyde:

Messy. Island. He doesn't really pick up sticks or weed and it's funny to him how much it annoys you.

He doesn't really care about his villagers either. If he hates them, he won't talk to them and wait til they move out.

The ones he likes he keeps track of, like making sure he talked to them and sometimes gifts them stuff he doesn't need anymore.

Since he doesn't care too much, he happily gifts you anything you want if he has it.

Token:

A clean and neat island.

He makes these beautiful decorated places for your characters to sit down at while you talk over discord.

He's happy with any villager and is friendly to all.

Also happily gifts you furniture and always let's you have any villager you're interested in.

He loves the holidays and enjoys fishing a lot. Catching bugs, digging up fossils and the other stuff not so much.

Craig:

Animal Farm.

He builds anything Space or Animals related and that's the overall theme for is island.
