We had our Halloween at the day job today. @raynakingstonauthor and I both went as witches. I think it goes without saying we went more as ourselves than ever...capes, brooms, and all. People brought in their kids, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, etc to have an in the office trick or treat. I always enjoy it! The kids are always precious! One co-worker’s little girl got scared by another area’s creepy carnival and clowns (which would have scared me too) and she came to me and crawled into my lap for comfort. Yeah I spoil their adorable kids! And that one has me a bit wrapped which is why her mom is always threatening to send her my house on weekends 😂. I’m really in for it as an aunt when my niece gets bigger! Speaking of, she’s now 6 months old! Time really flies! The best part of us being in costume was the grocery store after when we were called a coven and asked to cast spells. 😂 Things may have been super rough lately filled with lots of struggles with the day job and my health among other things but I feel a change in the wind, a blowing positive pattern headed this direction. I’m the master of the war in my mind just as I am my own destiny. I’m taking control for the better of me. If there's one thing I can say for myself it's that I'm stubborn. I just couldn't give up on this dress. Not exactly a jiffy experience (thank you "simplicity") but one in which I learned a lot. Only the third one I've sewn, I bought the 1961 pattern at the thrift store, as well as the fabric. The front is questionable but I love the back.
