January – ¿Cómo te va?

Yay! This is another project I've been planning since last October, where I draw a piece based on a song that I associate with the twins! Tones and genres will vary (I promise not every piece will be sad 😭), and it'll be tagged as Twins, Tunes & Tonics.

I'm going for at least one song a month until December, but we'll see if I can actually keep up with this ^^;

thank you daniel (2011-2024) - no regrets, only memories.

to say goodbye to daniel within f1 still feels wrong. it will never be an easy pill to swallow. it is one dream unfulfilled, but a multitude of many other dreams achieved. i feared i would look back at the memories of daniel and feel that they would forever be tainted moving forward, but to remember all the joy, is to realise every moment was worth it. to look at these pictures, any pictures, of daniel, puts a lump in my throat, but also makes me want to smile from ear to ear. it was a pleasure to tune in every race weekend since the middle of 2021, and feel the nerves and the anxiety and the excitement that were probably only a fraction of what he felt. i'll forever wish he, we, had more. but each and every moment we did get was wonderful. and i cherish each and every one of them, as i'm sure he does. he deserved more. he deserved a proper goodybe. he deserved everything. but it's okay it wasn't that way. everything he had was beautiful. to whatever's next 🥂

So what's your issue with Sai? /genq

I have issues with plenty of people. The internet is full of obnoxious individuals, and for the purposes of my main accounts online I quickly block them (it's what those tools are for, after all). That doesn't mean I don't enjoy watching from a distance, however.

Sai is just one on a long list of internet people that wreak havoc wherever they go. Most just don't seem to notice that because she often targets (or tries to target) people that the internet masses are likely to frown upon. Lily Orchard is ideal for this. A vast majority of the internet dislikes her or doesn't care about her. To me, though, it's about the same as watching any United States election since 2016. It's not about getting something good anymore, it's about taking the side of the guy who sucks a little less.

To put it simply, Sai and Lily are two sides of the same coin.

Lily just so happens to have done much worse things by comparison and Sai just so happens to have opinions on media most agree with and internet history that hasn't been picked clean. At the end of the day though, their personalities and way of interacting with the web at large are incredibly similar.

Both of them, despite repeatedly claiming the opposite, are hopelessly obsessed with each other. Both of them use what little amount of minority status they have as a shield against critics. Both of them love to argue, to the point where it seems it's the only form of communication they can navigate. Both are quick to cry cowardice when someone decides an argument isn't worth having and walks away. Both of them must get in the last word, always. Both of them feel that they are in the right all the time, and that anyone else is either stupid, immature, or both. Both of them often label others as sensitive until it's their own feelings that are on the chopping block.

The best thing that Lily could do, if she really wanted to hurt her critics and make them leave her be, is to simply disappear from the internet entirely and let the people leeching off of her starve. The communities based entirely on making fun of her would dissolve overnight. Lily would never do that of course, because she has the same problem as Sai (one also pinpointed by CrimsonEnder): she simply can't let things go.

Neither of them will ever have the ability to walk away from something unless they have the final say, no matter how small it is. I've seen them both revive petty squabbles that have already long since simmered down for the sake of just wanting to argue.

It's not exactly difficult to put together why Sai has so many "haters" when almost every public interaction she has is a argument. It's not always about some form of homophobia or sexism or difference of opinion. Pardon my French, but sometimes your personality just fucking sucks.

I can't draw at work so quick Kelvin/Keefe hurt/comfort writing to keep busy, night shift altering my brain chemistry aghhh.

Summary: Keefe and Kelvin feel the aftermath of the roundtable discussion

“Home sweet home.” 

Keefe let them sit in the silence for a moment before steeling himself again. “Kelvin?” He reached out to place a gentle hand on Kelvin's arm but it only caused him to tense up under the touch. 

No answer. Fair enough, it was dead silent the whole trip home and it's all silent now but for the chirps of crickets on the compound. Keefe looked to his right at his partner in the passenger seat, who was virtually curled in on himself facing away from him. He ran his palms against the sides of the steering wheel, trying to swallow that dread rising up into his throat. He hated this, hated seeing Kelvin like this. He didn't deserve any of this. The guilt was almost too much to bear for himself in particular. He promised Kelvin he'd have his back, he said he'd never let anything hurt him. How many times must he fail Kelvin before it becomes too much for both of them?

Keefe moved his hand away quickly. “I'm sorry. Let-Lets get you inside, okay? I'll get you some hot tea started.” He hopped out of the driver's seat and scrambled to Kelvin's side to open the car door for him. By the time he got there, Kelvin's face was beet red again, he was stifling tears. It took everything in Keefe not to cry right then and there with him. “M’sorry Keefe.” Kelvin heaved through the tears.

“Nonono- you have nothing to apologize about! That Simkins, well… he was out to get you for sure.” Keefe insisted. Kelvin just shook his head in response. When he helped Kelvin out of the car, Keefe held him their whole walk back inside the house.

“They all laughed at me, Keefe I-” Kelvin spoke shakily as Keefe came back holding a piping hot mug to where he was sitting at the edge of their bed. His eyes were wide open staring past Keefe at nothing. 

“Hey now -” Keefe sat the mug next to Kelvin on the nightstand and kneeled in front of him to meet his eyes. “Those guys? They're just a bunch of bullies and-” “What if they're right? What if I'm a sham?”

“No... No.” Keefe said firmly. He reached up and held Kelvin's face in his palms. “God set you on a path and-”  “Keefe, I can't do this.” “What?” “I'm not… I'm going to drop out of the running for Top Christ Following Man.”

Keefe felt his heart drop into his gut right then and there. “No, wha- You can come back from this, Kelvin!” He was near pleading with the other. “I believe you can. They just don't see the vision that we do with Prism.”

This pulled a kind of wheezy hollow laugh from Kelvin as he moved away from his partner.  “It's over, Keefe. We can tell the discipes tomorrow.” The sting in his voice was ever piercing.

Keefe sat there on his knees, watching as Kelvin crawled under the covers, pulling the comforter up past his head. “As a matter of fact, why don't we just drop Prism too.”

 Hearing Kelvin talk this way made Keefe physically ache. He wanted to take all of his hurt away so bad, take it and lock it away and throw it into the Atlantic. 

“You don't mean that, Kelvin- I- The flock, they need you!” He said as he climbed up to sit beside Kelvin. He pressed his palms into his stomach , trying to gather himself before continuing. “...Hey let's just- nevermind all of that. Lets just- take an easy day tomorrow, okay?” Kelvin didn't answer, but it looked like he was curling his legs up under the comforter.

Keefe sighed softly and crawled under the covers with his partner. Maybe he couldn't keep all the hurt away but he could at least be a pillar of support when Kelvin did get knocked down. The roots to Kelvin's ever-growing greenery. He reached out and wrapped an arm over Kelvin who was facing away from him. He pulled himself close and pressed a soft kiss to the back of Kelvin's neck. Kelvin responded with a shaky exhale and reached to hold Keefe's hand in his own. Keefe squeezed his hand in return.

“I've got you.”

sanuso runaway AU - where Usopp leaves syrup village after his mom dies to look for his dad and ends up at the germa kingdom, growing up with Sanji as the doctor's lab assistant

That's basically the gist of it, there's a LOTT more but I just wanted to share some of the art I made for it (came up with it with a friend of mine)

In short -> sogeking is usopp's clone (the kids aren't aware of this) and was created to help germafied sanji on missions (sanji's scores began to improve after he met usopp so judge decided to keep him for more infiltration or espionage based tasks, hence "stealth black" since he's considered weaker than his siblings)

reiju's here too :) she and sanji have a bit of a rocky relationship (it gets better!!) but she's besties with usopp and hangs out with him at the lab to make ,, various concoctions

I'll make another post with more art and info later (I HAVE A LOTTT) so i'll tag em with (#op runaway au) hehe ,, feel free to send asks about it too!!

seeing a lot of mismag negativity and i just wanna come out with a counter to that and say i think this season fucking rocks. every single player is hitting it out of the park with their acting and character choices. i love seeing these huge swings so early in the season.

danielle and brennan developing their friendship and how genuine and earnest she is with sams reaction to evans ghost. just pure love and support. sam says shes afraid no one takes her seriously but i think shes one of, if not the, most important character of this season bc of her ability to put so much emotional significance in such few words. ("my wands not working" "of course ill carry you")

erika accidentally snapping their wand and discovering that magic breaking mechanic. leaning into k's self-righteousness and deciding they know how to "fix" things that arent broken without confirming everyone was on the same page. the "breaking magic is more your thing" line. (i had to get up and leave the room after they said that). erika is so good at finding the rough spots on a character and poking at it over and over again, and it makes for incredible and dramatic storytelling

jammers unwavering support of his friends. but also the fact that he dropped out and stopped doing magic. he tells people his familiar is from temu. but he would do anything for the pilot program. lou is such a heavy hitter in comedy, but between this season, crown of candy, and worlds beyond number, im so glad we get to see him flex his dramatic skills too because god. he can act.

evan holding fast to the belief that he is not worth saving, and how much strain that puts on the group. him not realizing it hurts his friends when he doesnt process their love for him. and i think brennan is doing a great job portraying someone who deeply needs therapy but doesnt have the resources for it amd instead is just doing his best.

AND AABRIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GODS ABOVE!!!!!!!!!!! if there are zero Aabria Iyengar fans on this world then i have died. she said she wanted this to be the funny season but im really happy its so tense and dramatic. not only does that give the players a chance to shine, but its also so 100% aabrias wheelhouse. her storytelling is so evocative and honestly i think we are too early in the season to be throwing stones about plot and satire effectiveness. i trust her, and have seen enough of her other work to think that however messy it feels right now, its gonna pay off at the end. she knows what shes doing. and shes good at it too.
