guys the shard of connection between dazai, atsushi and akutagawa is eating away at me, NEEDS to be examined.

can i just say. his relationship with dazai, where he had idolized him and festered something completely dependant on dazai's response to him.

vs. (or really it never clashes, more like, through his recognition of a world larger than dazai, he loses more and more of his hold on akutagawa)

aku's relationship with atsushi, where he rages at dazai's remarks about him and yet continues to seep in the light he (atsushi) brings IN RESPONSE TO DAZAI

like. akutagawa, who has come to understand strength as something earnt, where strength = purpose. as we are shown with his entire 'mad dog' persona, which, ultimately becomes his way of living. then atsushi comes along, blah blah blah, we've heard this beforee, challenging his position means challenging his purpose, his life. but through a disturbance of the curtains, there is a sliver of light. likeeeeeee. FUCK. my point being, the shell is cracking, and akutagawa's first death (hurry up and go, you fool; like shut up?? /j) is the catalyst where the shell splits open.

yes, now. take this and put it thru half a dozen regenerations which PHYSICALLY (and mentally) shake up his being. he is left with a sponge of a mind which takes in Everything he has known but shunned. yet it's akutagawa so of course the screaming elephant in the back of his mind is the fact that he is no longer looking for dazai in everything he does. and without his other pains, the failure to please dazai... his deteriorating lungs.... his anger as a coping mechanism, through clear eyes (literally) he can see himself in the light (with atsushi). id like to this is literally IS him thinking for himself for once. instead of doing something for the sake of the mafia/dazai or in the process of justifying his worldview.

this, my friends, is MY catalyst and i am abt to go batshit insane because of an anime twink🙏

it is just so interesting to me how bsd makes a trend of another charact acting as a symbol of enlightenment (or general character progression) within the confines of someone's mind (form few recent chapters: the director/dazai for atsushi, atsushi for aku, etc)

oh.

It is SO FUNNY to me that i spent a good 20 minutes ranting about the panel above only to be HIT by this like. inside me r two wolves. one calls him gay, the other also says this is gay but also him stripping himself of his attachment to dazai and that makes my head spin👍

Ngl, I've never been one for making my own predictions. Mostly because I'd probably look like a dumbass when my predictions are incredibly off

No idea if anyone could predict chapters 121.5—123, Atsushi dying for Akutagawa wasn't on my bingo card. Nor was Atsushi becoming Akutagawa's reason to live. Nor was possessive Akutagawa becoming canon

I actually have no idea when chapter 124 is scheduled to come out (I usually check twitter for the date around the end of the month), and I don't know if I truly have any predictions for it, whether sskk or not

I personally have no idea what Asagiri is brewing inside his genius mind, but I have a hunch (and hope) that 124 is gonna be gay asf

I doubt Atsushi is going to get out of the fourth dimension just yet, and maybe we'll get more information on Ueda in 124 (although we rarely get character backstories so early on). Heck, maybe 124 isn't even going to be about sskk and instead about Skk making their way back to Yokohama

Maybe if we're lucky Akutagawa will finally admit he's madly in love with Atsushi (as if we don't already know that)

So yeah I don't really have many predictions lmao, can't wait til 124 though, it's probably going to be killer (hopefully not in a literal sense)
